Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s ‘circle is getting smaller and smaller’ with their A-list pals ‘dropping like flies’, according to former royal butler Paul Burrell.

Meghan Markle’s social circle appears to be dwindling, according to a former royal butler.

Paul Burrell has suggested that the ex-Suits actress is seeing her group of A-list friends thinning out, with some “dropping like flies”.

This revelation emerges as Meghan and Prince Harry were notably absent from what was dubbed the “social event of the year” Hugh Grosvenor, the 7th Duke of Westminster’s wedding. The event was graced by numerous celebrities, including Prince William.

Burrell, who once served Princess Diana, divulged to Closer!: “Harry and Meghan’s circle is getting smaller and smaller. I think the A-list stars are dropping like flies. Some already have done – Oprah no longer seems involved with them and some other celebrities have also dropped them.”

He continued: “Back in the day, the A-listers were riding on the moment – Harry and Meghan were the most popular couple in the country at one time, when they got married, but there’s since been a decline.”

Further, Burrell claimed that Americans are beginning to see the Sussexes more as a “side show”, with reports suggesting that high-profile couples like George and Amal Clooney, and Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom, have declined recent invitations from them. This follows rumours that David and Victoria Beckham received a cold shoulder from Meghan.

Despite the swirling rumours, it’s believed that Meghan has cultivated a tight-knit circle of celebrity friends, including actresses, fashion designers, stylists, pilates buddies and polo players’ wives. When she unveiled her inaugural product from her American Riviera Orchard brand, the Duchess was met with an outpouring of support from numerous high-profile figures who promoted the product on their social media platforms.

Those lucky enough to receive the limited edition samples of her jam proudly displayed the petite jars, complete with handwritten labels showcasing the American Riviera Orchard logo and ‘Montecito’ inscribed beneath, as well as the unique numbering indicating which jar it is out of 50, suggesting the batch of jam is a boutique production run.

The Duchess of Sussex played Rachel Zane in the hit legal drama Suits for seven seasons from 2011 until 2018.

When she tied the knot with Prince Harry, Meghan confirmed she was retiring from acting. At the time she said she was quitting acting so that she could focus on her new duties as a working member of the Royal Family, but then in 2020, she and Harry decided to step down as senior working royals.

Since the couple relocated to the US and the Sussexes slowly easing themselves back into the public eye, rumours have been circulating that the duchess could possibly return to acting, with many speculating she could even reprise her role as Rachel Zane at some point, writes The Mirror.

And now, a former co-star of the duchess who worked alongside her on the show has broken his silence on a potential return.

Gabriel Macht, who played Harvey Specter in the series, spoke exclusively to our sister paper The Mirror ahead of the Golden Globes last night.

Speaking on the red carpet, Gabriel was asked how much money does he think it would take to bring Meghan back. Swerving the Duchess and the possibility of her return, Gabriel responded: “I think the question is how much money would it take to bring me back…”

In the drama, Gabriel played the role of Harvey Reginald Specter, a former corporate attorney and the husband of Donna Paulsen. In season two, Gabriel’s character was forced to go head to head with Robert Zane, father of paralegal Rachel Zane, on a gender discrimination case.

Dubbed the royals’ ‘secret weapon’, Sophie, Duchess of Edinburgh, is said to have acted as peacemaker between the Windsors, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.

Sophie, Duchess of Edinburgh, gave a savage response when asked if she and Prince Edward would step up in the wake of Meghan Markle, Prince Harry and Prince Andrew stepping back from royal duties, one commentator has claimed. Recognised by some commentators as a key member of the Royal Family with a reputation as being hardworking, Sophie is reported to have issued the eight word response: “What did people think we were doing beforehand?”

The blunt response was first revealed in royal author Katie Nicholl’s 2022 book, The New Royals: Queen Elizabeth’s Legacy and the Future of the Crown.

Ms Nicholl remarked the Duchess of Edinburgh receives less media attention than the Duchess of Sussex because she blazes a more ordinary trail.

The approach appears to have paid dividends for Sophie, 59, who joined the Royal Family in June 1999 when she married the late Queen Elizabeth II’s youngest son, Prince Edward, who recently announced he would be taking a short break from royal duties.

A full-time, working member of the Windsor family, Sophie is patron of more than 70 charities and organisations, championing women’s equality, agriculture, British sport and disabled people, according to Buckingham Palace.

Dubbed the Windsors’ “secret weapon”, an unnamed royal aide has previously said of Sophie: “Since she became a working member of the family she has worked tirelessly for each and every cause she is passionately involved in.”

Before joining the royals, Sophie worked in the public relations industry. She worked for the PR firm Maclaurin Communication and Media before setting up her own company, R-J H, with business partner Murray Harkin in 1996.

On her engagement to Prince Edward, the then Sophie Rhys-Jones made it clear she wanted to continue her career after she tied the knot.

Sophie went on to become a member of the late Queen’s inner circle, further burnishing her reputation as Elizabeth II’s favourite daughter-in-law, ahead of Diana, Princess of Wales, and Sarah Ferguson, whose marriages to King Charles and Prince Andrew ended in divorce.

The Duchess of Edinburgh once called Her Late Majesty Elizabeth II “mama” in a speech, hinting at her closeness to the late Queen.

After Sophie and Edward’s wedding at St George’s Chapel, Windsor, the couple went on to have two children, Lady Louise Windsor and James, Earl of Wessex.

Her career outside the Royal Family ended in 2001 when she described the late Queen as an “old dear” in an interview with a reporter disguised as a sheikh who she viewed as a potential client.

Sophie has admitted the transition from a working woman to a working royal wasn’t plain sailing, commenting: “I had to take a really big step back and go, OK, they want you to be the icing on the cake, the person to come in to thank their volunteers and funders, not necessarily to tell them how to run their communications plan.”

The Duchess of Edinburgh has been tipped for a greater role under King Charles’s reign, due to her growing popularity. She ranks seventh in YouGov’s latest poll on the most popular royals, behind Elizabeth II, Prince William, Princess Anne, Princess Kate, Zara Phillips and King Charles.

Piers Morgan has lashed out again at Meghan Markle, asking “who the f*** does she think she is” as she stepped back on British soil with her husband, Prince Harry.

It would be unlike the former GMB host  to avoid commenting on anything the former Suits star does, so it it is not surprise that he’s inserted himself into her personal business yet again.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex were back in the UK on Monday as they appeared at the One Young World Summit in Manchester.

It comes after Meghan debuted her new podcast Archetypes, where she interviewed Mariah Carey and Serena Williams while indirectly touching on her time in the royal family.

Additionally, during a recent The Cut magazine, she said that the British media had called her children “the N-word”.

Meghan also seemed to say Prince Harry had talked about a breakdown in his relationship with his own father Prince Charles after the couple moved to the United States. Though, royal correspondent Omid Scobie, and Meghan’s unofficial spokesperson, later said on social media that his understanding was that Prince Harry was actually referring to Meghan’s loss of her own father.

So it’s not a plot twist in the slightest that Piers used his return to his show Uncensored to lam into the Duchess Meghan, claiming that she and Harry wanted to “fleece” their titles and he “wasn’t having any of it” and suggesting that they were “damaging the monarchy with every interview they give”.

Not one to stop there, Piers also took to his column in The Sun as he fumed: “Even by her standards, it’s staggeringly, stupendously, preposterously absurd for a woman who married a multi-millionaire prince, gave up her job, and now lives entirely off the gargantuan proceeds of his royal status that she ruthlessly fleeces to the highest bidders, lecturing anyone about poverty and equality.

“But for Markle to pull this stunt in Britain, the country she loathes and couldn’t wait to abandon once she sunk her claws into halfwit Harry, at a time when we’re in the midst of the worst financial crisis since the end of World War Two, is as sickening as it’s outrageous.”

He added: “To be blunt, who the f*** does she think she is coming back here at all after all the vile manure she’s gleefully flung at Britain, the Monarchy and the Royal Family?”

Piers went on to accuse the couple of being “shamefully tone deaf” for giving a keynote address about poverty and gender equality.

Not one to stop there, he suggested that Meghan and Harry should be stripped of their royal titles.

The presenter said: “As always with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex – I still don’t understand why the hell they’re allowed to keep these titles given how cynically they exploit them for personal financial gain – their actions are riddled with hypocrisy”.

Speaking to The Mirror, royal expert Tom Quinn revealed the Duchess of Sussex is ready to face off British public again if they are provided apt security alongside a place of their own.

Meghan last visited the UK to attend funeral of the late Queen Elizabeth in 2022.

Meanwhile, the prince recently took a whistlestop trip to his homeland to celebrate 10 years of The Invictus Games with a church service.

Mr Quinn shared: “Meghan has said she’s only prepared to return to England if she and Harry have a place of their own and the security they both feel is essential. Meghan will never return to the UK and stay with her husband‘s relatives.

“If the couple manage to find a permanent home and sort out the security issue they will certainly want to bring their children to the UK,” he continued.

However, the royal expert noted, “It’s going to take a lot of diplomacy to get to the point where Archie and Lili are able to develop a genuine and warm relationship with their cousins George, Charlotte and Louis.”

Meghan Markle was helpful and kind towards her family, as defined by her cousin Shawn Johnson.

In conversation with Daily Mail, Shawn, who is no longer in contact with the Duchess of Sussex, has shared a rare insight into her childhood traits.

He said, “She was always really sweet. She was kind and she always had a star quality about her.

The son of Meghan’s maternal uncle added, “She was infectious with just the way she was and really mature for her age. She was always really looking after us and making sure that we’re all doing fine.”

The former working royal’s estranged cousin admitted that they are happy with how “her life turned out the way it did for her.”

He further said, “We just had that feeling she was going to do something amazing.”

Speaking of Meghan’s ‘helpful’ nature, Shawn said, “She made our childhood great – she was a big part of it.”

He continued, “I have no bad memories, no anything of her having any weird attitude issues or anything like that.”

“She was always just really, even later in the teenage years, she was really mature and kind of ahead of the curve.”

Meghan Markle has sent a message to King Charles and Prince William to not make a fool out of themselves by stripping her and Prince Harry’s royal titles.

A source close to the Duchess of Sussex has revealed what she thinks of reports about the monarch and Prince of Wales having discussions about removing her and Harry’s titles.

For the unversed, royal expert and author Tom Quinn has claimed Charles and William have been having lengthy discussions about doing something about the Sussexes’ titles.

However, the expert noted that “the last thing they want is to give the renegades something else to complain about.”

“William and his father know that even without their royal titles Meghan and Harry would carry on traveling the world as if they were royals and most people in the world will still welcome them.”

Issuing a warning to Charles and William, the insider said that Meghan is confident that the title stripping would only backfire on the royals.

“Charles and William are right to worry that stripping the rogue couple of titles would only result in them with egg on their face,” Meghan’s alleged mouth-piece said, as per Radar Online.

“To many people, who have no idea of royal protocol or even care, Harry and Meghan will always be ‘prince’ or ‘duke and duchess’ no matter what the king does,” the tipster continued.

“So stripping the titles would be a waste of time — and make Charles and William look like petty sore losers.”

Meghan Markle is beyond caring about what people think as she continues to roll out series of projects.

The Duchess of Sussex was named one of the most disliked celebrities of 2024 in a new Ranker poll released earlier this week.

However, according to PR expert Lynn Carratt, she is not taking the latest blow by heart. “I believe Meghan will take the survey data with a pinch of salt. I’m not sure how interested she is anymore in getting the British public back on her side,” she said, reported via the Daily Mail.

The PR Box spokesperson explained: “She is American and that is where her family life is now, so she will be more concerned in raising her popularity in her own country and focusing on building her brand American Rivera Orchard and making it a huge success.”

As per the results, 65% of the 31,400 Brits who took part in the poll had negative view of the Suits alum, placing her fourth in the list.

American celebrities like Sean ‘Combs’ Diddy, James Corden, and Amber Heard among others are also on the “most hated celebrities” list.

Since the book ‘Harry: Conversations with the Prince’ by Angela Levin was published, it has given a lot to talk about as, after all, it has addressed many controversial, unique and/or curious questions about Prince Harry himself, the protagonist of the book.

Over time, various stories have emerged around the British royal, although some have been more talked about than others.

One of the ones that has drawn the most attention recently, although the issue arose in 2016, was the infidelity that the prince committed against his wife, Meghan Markle.

It was with British model Sarah Ann Macklin.

At the time, various media claimed the son of Charles III of the United Kingdom was very interested in her.

“He met Sarah Ann Macklin at a party and they left together that night,” wrote the book’s author, Angela Levin, in one of the chapters dedicated to infidelity.

According to her, it could have been something more serious, since they went on several dates.

“During the early days of his relationship with Meghan, Harry went on dates with Macklin,” she explains.

“They met at a private party and he did everything he could to get her phone number. Then, he bombarded her with text messages.”

So, that seemed to be more than a one-night stand, as Harry thought she was a great woman.

He met with her on several occasions, although at the time he had already been linked to Meghan Markle.

This dynamic would have continued until the moment when the prince traveled to Africa, at which point it would have all ended.

What went wrong

Apparently, the trip was a motive, but not the only one, as their lifestyles were quite opposite.

“A friend of hers told me: ‘They tried, although they were very different. She led a very healthy life and hardly drank. It was a matter where they were on a completely different wavelength’,” Angela Levin reveals in another portion of the book.

Meghan Markle and first husband Trevor Engelson may have parted ways after the actress had an affair with one of her Suits costars, claims her sister Samantha Markle.

TheRoyalObserver.com has obtained a copy of Samantha’s new memoir The Diary of Princess Pushy’s Sister: A Memoir, in which she writes: “We heard through the grapevine that Meg was involved with someone on the show.”

Samantha writes that she was devastated, especially for their grandmother who was a big fan of Trevor, a film producer. “I was in shock because I thought they had a marriage that defied all odds in Hollywood,” writes Samantha.

It seems that Meghan, 39, may not have been the only one stepping out, however, as Samantha claims Trevor was also in the throes of a new relationship – with Megan’s best friend. “It takes two to tango,” she notes.

The Duchess of Sussex and Engleson got married in 2011 in Ocho Rios, Jamaica after a seven-year long courtship. But the relationship didn’t last much longer – they split in 2013, citing “irreconcilable differences.”

The controversial 328-page book, The Diary of Princess Pushy’s Sister: A Memoir, is expected to be released later this week.
