Ashley McBryde Shows Off Her Hidden Talent of Doing Accents [Watch]

Ashley McBryde is a very talented singer and songwriter, but that’s not the only skill she has. Backstage at the 57th annual CMA Awards, McBryde revealed to Taste of Country’s Adison Haager that her hidden talent is speaking in a variety of different accents from around the globe.

Ashley McBryde Shows Off Her Hidden Talent of Doing Accents

“I’m really good at accents,” she states.

“I really enjoy doing accents of all types,” McBryde adds, going right into an English accent. “That sounds a bit like Hugh Grant for some reason.”

She then launches into an Australian accent, saying, “What’s really difficult would be Australian. It’s really, really hard.”

“Scottish, much harder,” she says in a Scottish accent before following up with an Irish accent, “Then Irish. Irish is not hard at all.”

The “Light on in the Kitchen” singer also revealed that she’s very independent, especially when it comes to taking care of things around the house.

“And I’m really handy, and I don’t know if that ever comes across, but like, I can fix stuff,” she says. “I live out in the woods, and I have to fix things, ’cause there’s nobody around to fix things.”

Up next, McBryde will be continuing her The Devil I Know Tour in 2024. The “Never Wanted to Be That Girl” singer added 31 new stops, beginning Feb. 22 and running through June 15. The trek is named after her latest album, which arrived on Sept. 8.

13 Shortest Marriages in Country Music History

Four months? Three months? Forty-four days? Four days — the shortest country music marriage didn’t even last long enough to bring home a paycheck.

Find out which country-friendly classic rocker was married just nine days before his wife asked for a divorce.

Taste of Country also did some digging to find a contemporary country singer who split after just 12 days in 2010 and another that last just four days in 1977. At 282 days, Carly Pearce and Michael Ray practically lived a lifetime when put next to Tammy Wynette and her fourth husband.

George Jones, Kenny Chesney, Gary Allan and Kid Rock all make this list of shortest marriages in country music history. So often the abrupt end to a union comes after a whirlwind romance that left no time for getting to know one another. It’s most sad when children are involved, as is the case in a handful of these marriages.

We capped our list at two years, meaning stars who made it at least that long won’t be found here. This excused several country singers like Wynonna Judd, Willie Nelson and Lorrie Morgan, who’ve had several spouses, with each lasting several years. First up is the quickie wedding of the ’90s — one that left Nashville and Hollywood in shock when they split.

Lyle Lovett and Julia Roberts: 639 Days

Country singer Lyle Lovett and actor Julia Roberts announced their separation with a simple statement reading (per People): “We remain close and in great support of each other.” This ended a year-and-a-half-long, closely-watched marriage between the beauty and country music’s rugged Texan.

It was a whirlwind romance if there ever was one. The pair wed just three days after meeting and dove right into busy careers that often left them on opposite ends of the country. After a year, people started to wonder about who each was seen socializing with, and tongues began to wag. But the optimists always believed in love until they made it official.

A teenaged George Jones married his first wife Dorothy in a rush in 1950, and she became pregnant just a few months later. In fact, she was six months pregnant when she filed for divorce, citing (per Texas Monthly) his violent temper and drinking problems. These were the beginning of his wild years, before Jones became a country music legend. The couple did have one child together however, the little-seen Susan, born in 1951.

Carly Pearce and Michael Ray dated for 18 months before their October 2019 wedding, and prior to the coronavirus pandemic of 2020, all seemed well, with the “Every Little Thing” singer gushing on her man during a visit with Taste of Country in February. Slowly, they started to disappear from one another’s social media pages however, leading to speculation that Pearce felt she had to address during a No. 1 party roundtable for “I Hope You’re Happy Now.” She filed for divorce on June 19, 2020, per People.

Irreconcilable differences was the official reason, but they told People that, “Ever-evolving, changing as partners and individuals, they have decided this is what’s best while they both focus on themselves and careers.”

This one is country music’s most famous short marriages. Kenny Chesney and actor Renee Zellweger met and married in a fever in 2005 and announced a separation just 128 days after their May 9 beachside wedding. She sought an annulment, and later both would admit they were not prepared for marriage. In December that year, the union would be officially dissolved. Believe it or not, we found four marriages that were over quicker than this 4-month-long marriage.

Tammy Wynette’s fourth husband was real estate developer Michael Tomlin, whom she wed on July 18, 1976 after just a few months of dating. By September she’d have the marriage annulled. The Washington Post shared a story reported by Cosmopolitan that he ran along her Florida beachfront firing a gun into the air, but Tomlin denied it.

Her fifth and final husband actually played organ during that ceremony, the paper shares. In fact, George Richey’s then-wife was matron of honor. Technically Wynette’s second marriage to Lloyd Amburgey could make this list, as it lasted less than two years, as well.

While not a dedicated country star, Greg Allman certainly appeals to country fans, and his marriage to Cher was so wild, we included it. The pair wed just days after her divorce to Sonny Bono was finalized, but nine days later, she filed for divorce. The problem was his drinking and heroin use, but he’d win her back.

And then she’d win him back, he’d win her back again … yeah, they were a rollercoaster for about three years until finally separating for good in 1978. Entertainment Weekly commemorated in a neat and tidy way in 1992. They had one son together, Elijah Blue.

Buck Owens and Jana Jae Greif — About 4 Days

The exact number of days that passed between Buck Owens’ impulsive, Las Vegas wedding to his fiddle player is not clear but all publications from the time list it as lasting “a few days.” Between three and five seems like a good guess. People magazine had the most exploratory look at the couple’s romance and the strange, uncomfortable circumstances of their union. Owens makes Porter Wagoner seem downright chivalrous.

In the spring of 1977, Owens was living with the woman who’d eventually become his fourth wife. Jana Rae Greif (who went as just Jana Jae professionally) quit but days later he asked her to marry him. Even though she was aware of his controlling ways she agreed, but the morning after their wedding he told her, (per People) “I own you lock, stock and barrel.”

Surprisingly it was Owens who tried to annul the marriage after just a few days, something made public on the radio before Rae had a chance to hear it for herself. He cited “unsound mind” but didn’t specify who he was talking about. There was some back and forth and eventually she cross-filed for annulment. Per Roland Note he filed for divorce in August of 1977, three months after they married. Later he’d say he wasn’t drunk on anything but her when he went to the alter.

Gavin Rossdale’s One Regret About Divorcing Ex-Wife Gwen Stefani

Gavin Rossdale has one major regret when it comes to his “debilitating” divorce from ex-wife Gwen Stefani.

Gavin Rossdale Never Thought He'd Divorce Gwen Stefani And Worries The Separation Hurt Their Kids

The Bush frontman, 58, and No Doubt star, 54, tied the knot in 2002, seven years after they first met when their bands performed at the same show in 1995.

Sadly, the rock royalty couple split in 2015 amid rumors of infidelity.

The former flames had three sons together during their 13-year relationship: Kingston, 17, Zuma, 15, and Apollo, 10.

Gavin Rossdale’s Divorce Regret Regarding Gwen Stefani

Speaking on Amy Robach and T.J. Holmes’ Amy & T.J. podcast, Gavin Rossdale described his and Stefani’s divorce as a “very contentious, hugely emotional, flared-up situation.”

He also admitted he “never thought I’d ever get divorced,” calling it a “simple shame in my life.”

The Bush singer opened up about his and Stefani’s relationship as co-parents, too, admitting he feels bad for their sons, whom he never wanted to experience divorce.

“I wish I could have found a way to not have that in their lives. It wasn’t fun for me to come from a broken home. It can be quite debilitating for kids … the overriding thing is you don’t want to let your kids down,” Rossdale said.

Rossdale also said he wishes he and the “Hollaback Girl” singer, who is married to country superstar Blake Shelton, had “more of a connection” as co-parents today.

“I go to a lot of events where there’s ‘the other team,’ so to speak, and I just feel really proud of myself in my consistency as a father. I know in my heart that I’m super consistent,” Rossdale explained, seemingly referring to Stefani and Shelton.

Rossdale, who is dating musician Xhoana, noted he sometimes feels “handcuffed” as he never wants to “overly say anything negative about [my sons’] mom.”

“That’s just not right,” he added.

Swiftie Mom Sings Taylor Swift Songs During an Awake Brain Surgery

Where can you go and not hear a Taylor Swift song? Apparently, not an operating room during brain surgery.

A Swiftie mom sang Taylor Swift songs during an awake brain surgery recently in New Jersey.

It all happened when a 36-year-old mother named Selena Campione had a craniotomy to remove a brain tumor. According to Billboard, Dr. Nitesh Patel preserved her speech during the operation through the use of a technology called Quicktome Connectomics.

For us non-brain surgeons, that is basically when the doctor monitors your speech and other parts of your brain to make sure they aren’t interfering with them while removing the tumor.

This particular brain surgeon uses this method, but has his patients sing their favorite songs during the surgery. When tasked with making sure she had songs to sing, Campione decided to pick Swift songs.

“My two daughters are huge Taylor Swift fans, and so am I,” she says. “I hear her music 24 hours a day, in my car, in my house. I could sing with her on stage, if she wanted me to.

As you can imagine, not getting nervous or scared during an awake brain surgery sounds like a daunting task. To ease her fears, Campione says singing Swift songs helped her in more ways than one. “It helped me, I felt like my daughters were with me.”

According to Campione, during the operation, she sang popular Swift songs including “22,” “Shake It Off” and “Style.”

The patient, in this instance, seemed to have more of an effect on the medical staff than most. Campione says, “I even think I’ve turned the doctors into Swifties.”

It’s been a few months since her surgery, and Campione’s recovery is going extremely well. Maybe Swift herself will hear about this story and invite her on stage to sing along with her on a tour stop during her Eras Tour.

  • The four-year old lovers Reba McEntire sings “Fancy”

The four-year old lovers Reba McEntire sings “Fancy”

Meet the Adorable Four-Year-Old Reba McEntire Fanatic

In a world filled with chaos and noise, sometimes all it takes is the sweet voice of a four-year-old to bring a smile to your face. Meet this little darling who has captured hearts with her love for country music legend Reba McEntire. With ‘Fancy’ being one of her favorite tunes, this pint-sized fan is stealing the show with her adorable rendition.

It’s a scene straight out of a heartwarming family movie – a car ride with a dad and his precious daughter. But what sets this particular ride apart is the enchanting performance happening in the backseat. As Reba’s iconic song ‘Fancy’ fills the airwaves, this little girl’s eyes light up with joy, and she begins to sing along with all her heart.

Reba McEntire's “Fancy” celebrates 30th Year Anniversary

Despite her tender age, this tiny songbird manages to nail the Southern accent, adding an extra layer of charm to her rendition. With each word she sings, it’s evident that she’s not just reciting lyrics but pouring her soul into the music. It’s a pure, unadulterated display of love for her favorite artist.

Some may raise eyebrows at the choice of song for a four-year-old, considering the mature themes of ‘Fancy.’ After all, it’s a narrative about a young girl from the wrong side of the tracks who turns to a life of prostitution to escape poverty. However, in the innocence of childhood, the deeper meanings of the lyrics may fly over her head, leaving only the catchy melody and infectious rhythm behind.

This ‘Fancy’ Four-Year Old Loves Reba McEntire

But who among us hasn’t belted out the lyrics to ‘Fancy’ at some point, regardless of age or circumstance? This classic hit from the 90s has transcended generations, becoming a timeless anthem that resonates with audiences young and old. Its catchy chorus and empowering message of transformation make it irresistible, even to the youngest of fans.

What makes this adorable rendition even more special is the bond it fosters between father and daughter. As they harmonize together in the car, sharing a love for music that knows no bounds, precious memories are being created that will last a lifetime.
