Chance the Rapper he has give some comments about Reba McEntire

Chance the Rapper says ‘motherly’ Reba McEntire keeps the judges ‘in control’ on ‘The Voice’

The country icon returns for her second season as a coach on the upcoming 25th season of the hit NBC singing competition, and fellow coach Chance the Rapper is sharing how he’s in awe of appearing alongside of her.

“It’s so crazy being on the show with Reba. She’s literally country royalty,” he said Feb. 26 on TODAY.

“We have cool little banter. It feels like she’s got a very motherly vibe,” he continued. “She’s keeping the show in order because you know me and John (Legend) be arguing. So, she’s just there to keep us in control.”

The Voice – Season 25 (Art Streiber / NBC)
“The Voice” has made a name for itself by bringing in some of the biggest names in music to coach and mentor aspiring singers. From Blake Shelton and Kelly Clarkson, to Nick Jonas and Gwen Stefani, the show, which premiered in 2011, has pulled out all the stops with top-notch talent.

This year proves to be no exception, with four coaching teams vying to win. The new season premieres Feb. 26 at 8 p.m. ET.

Here are the coaches for Season 25 of “The Voice”:

    Reba McEntire

The Voice - Season 25 (Art Streiber / NBC)

The Voice – Season 25 (Art Streiber / NBC)
The queen of country joined “The Voice” as a coach for the first time last season and quickly took to it.

“I came back for a second season because I love the show. I love the people. Everybody on ‘The Voice’ has been so much fun to work with,” she said in a clip shared by the show in February.

It’s not just country artists who take a liking to her, either.

“People grew up just loving her personality and who she is. And, so, she has an edge with just about everybody that comes up her on our stage. So she’s always going to be a threat,” fellow coach John Legend said in the same video.

Having been on the show before, McEntire knows exactly what she’s looking for this time.

“My team this year, I’m looking for diversity. I’m looking for, of course, talent, range. That way, when we get to the Battle Rounds, we have a difference in style to pair them together and give the best show possible.”

And when it comes to choosing who’s on her team, McEntire tells TODAY.com during a recent interview that she’s making a concerted effort to be a little more intentional with the button, admitting that she gets “buzzer happy.”

“The producers came over and said, ‘You better kind of slow down a little bit, because we still got a lot of great vocalists back there.’ And they’re so good,” McEntire says of the auditions during Season 24, adding that she knew certain singers she wanted would likely choose John Legend, Niall Horan or Gwen Stefani as their coach.

“But man, I tried. I really did try to get them,” she continued. “And I was really happy with the three that I wound up with … and I’m really looking forward to this next season to see how it lines up.”

    Dan + Shay

The Voice - Season 25 (Art Streiber / NBC)

The Voice – Season 25 (Art Streiber / NBC)
The country duo and three-time Grammy winners break new ground on “The Voice,” by becoming the first pair to serve as coaches. They are also the lone coaches who are new to the show this season.

“Honestly, I think it puts us at a little bit of a disadvantage,” Dan Smyers told Hoda Kotb Feb. 22 on TODAY when discussing how they will handle being in a double chair.

The duo is also keenly aware of how tough it may be to take down McEntire.

“We’re pulling out all the stops,” Shay Mooney said on TODAY. “I’m trying to dig up just something on Reba to pull out … but there’s nothing on her.”

    John Legend

The Voice - Season 25 (Art Streiber / NBC)

The Voice – Season 25 (Art Streiber / NBC)
Legend is, well, a legend on “The Voice,” having served as a coach from Season 16 through 22 before returning last season. He’s the only coach in Season 25 who has won the show, having done so in his first year.

“I have a feeling this is going to be a special season for Team Legend,” he said in a February clip shared on the show’s YouTube page.

Reba knows he provides some stiff competition, too.

“He’s the one we look to. You know, if John turns, oh my gosh, let’s all turn, ‘cause John knows what he’s talking about here,” she said.

    Chance the Rapper

The Voice - Season 25 (Art Streiber / NBC)

The Voice – Season 25 (Art Streiber / NBC)
The three-time Grammy winner made his debut as a coach on “The Voice” in Season 23.

Chance said there’s a certain magic that comes with the show.

“That’s what I love about the show. It’s very much a show about, rather than judging these young artists, it’s about coaching them up,” he said Feb. 26 on TODAY with Hoda & Jenna.

“And you get these really cool intimate mentor-mentee moments with people that are that trying to break into the industry, where you get to just build them up and show them what it is.”

Blake Shelton teases future return to The Voice – but jokes he knows how Pat Sajak ‘feels’ after 23 seasons on NBC show

BLAKE Shelton has revealed he may return to The Voice while unexpectedly comparing himself to Pat Sajak for the reason he took a breather.

In 2023, the country star abruptly left the singing competition, and fans have held out hope ever since that he’ll return.

Blake said he doesn't 'ever plan' on coming back to The Voice but admitted 'Who knows?'

Blake, 47, was a mainstay on The Voice since its first season in 2011.

He coached promising artists on Team Blake for 23 seasons or 12 consecutive years.

Blake still holds the record for most wins by a coach, having won nine different seasons.

His wife, Gwen Stefani, 54, exited as a coach soon after in 2024 before its now-airing 25th season.

    ‘WHO KNOWS?’

Blake told Extra TV in a video interview on Sunday that he’s not planning an official return but he didn’t rule anything out.

“I don’t ever plan on working at The Voice again,” he said.

He added, “Who knows? That’s me sitting here as I say that right now.”

    “I can’t say I wouldn’t come by for a surprise appearance.”

“That show is the greatest and most important thing I’ve ever been a part of in my career. It changed my life.”

“When I left, I feel like I really left; we all love each other,” he continued – implying there are no hard feelings.

‘HOW I WAS STARTING TO FEEL’

Blake explained that he left because of the burden that nonstop filming took on him.

He compared his tiresome tenure to Wheel of Fortune’s host Pat, 77.

Pat is leaving his iconic game show behind this spring after an astounding 41 straight years.

“I’ve done it for 23 seasons without missing a single season, you know?” Blake said.

“I know what you feel like, Pat Sajak!” he exclaimed.

“Because that’s kind of how I was starting to feel.”

“If you’re on back-to-back seasons, there’s really no time for any other thing, you know?

“If you didn’t want to have a family and a life that much you could do it, but something has to give. It was time for The Voice to be thing that gives.”

Pat announced in 2023 that he’d be retiring from Wheel at the end of the now-airing Season 41, he’s missed only one episode due to a scary intestine surgery in 2019

Pat’s last episode will air on June 7, 2024, and he has already wrapped up filming as of April 5, 2024.

Pat will be replaced by Ryan Seacrest, who will co-host with Vanna White, 66, starting this fall.

Blake Shelton admits he ‘doesn’t miss’ The Voice ‘at all’ – but reveals show change that could tempt him to return

    BLAKE WOULD RETURN IF…

Meanwhile, in an interview on Thursday, Blake said there was one condition in which he would definitely return to the big red chair.

He told Entertainment Tonight, “If they were ever able to put together the original four coaches again, maybe [I’d return] for one season, a one-off.”

“That would be fun for me… That would be something I would be interested in doing.”

When the show kicked off, The Voice coaches included Blake, Adam Levine, Christina Aguilera, and Cee-Lo Green.

After announcing his exit in 2023, Black admitted that he’d been wanting to leave for a while.

“The second I started feeling like, ‘Oh, my gosh, I don’t even remember what season this is anymore. Who are the coaches on this season?’ [I knew that] I needed [to get] away from here,” he said, leaving the show when Gwen was still a coach.

“I think I was close to calling it a day right when COVID hit. And then because of COVID, I didn’t want to walk away from the show, and leave everybody in a bind,” he also admitted on Today.

Maroon 5 frontman Adam Levine left the show after 16 seasons, while Aguilera and Green’s tenures were shorter.

    MEETING GWEN

Although things seemingly got tough for Blake toward his exit, he found love along the way.

The Voice connected him with his now wife, Gwen, 54.

He met her when she joined the series as a coach in Season 7.

They began dating in 2015, while they were both going through divorces, were engaged in 2020, and wed in 2021.

“The first season she was on The Voice we met [but] we really didn’t talk that much,” he recalled to Entertainment Tonight.

He continued, “If you would’ve told me the first season that we met that’s what was gonna happen, I would’ve been like, ‘No, we actually don’t even have anything to even talk about.

What are you talking about?’ It’s crazy how things work out.”

The 25th season of The Voice is currently airing, with coaches Reba McEntire, John Legend, Chance the Rapper and Dan + Shay.

The Voice winner Kendji Girac shot in the chest

French singer Kendji Girac has been shot in the chest in an attack in France, it has been reported.

Girac, 27, won The Voice France back in 2014 and has worked with the likes of Mika in his career.

French publications are reporting that Girac was shot and injured last night at a travellers’ camp reception in Biscarrosse.

Law enforcement were notified of an incident shortly after 5.30am this morning, and arrived at the scene to find Girac in a ‘very serious condition’.

The singer was transported to a hospital in Bordeaux, where he was in intensive care.

BFMTV report he is now conscious.

‘He was at a travellers’ camp where he was wounded by a firearm,’ said an investigation source.

‘Gendarmes were alerted at around 5.30am, and when they arrived they were confronted by around 20 people who refused to communicated any information.

‘The emergency services meanwhile evacuated a seriously wounded man who had been shot in the chest, and he was rushed to hospital.’

Confirming the victim’s identity, the source described his medical condition as ‘life threatening’.

The father-of-one rose to fame in France after winning the third series of the popular TV singing show.

He has since released five albums and performed duets with other French singing stars, such as Vianney and Florent Pagny.

Kendjii Girac was born Kendji Maillé in Périgueux, in the Dordogne, and is of Catalan gypsy origin.

He has often spoken of ‘growing up in a caravan’ and left formal education at the age of 16.

In August 2013, his uncle posted a video online of Girac covering a song called Bella.

It became a huge YouTube hit, and was his ticket to The Voice, which he won with more than 51 per cent of the national vote.

In January 2021, Girac welcomed a daughter called Eva Alba, but has never revealed the identity of the little girl’s mother.

Prosecutors have opened a criminal enquiry into the reported shooting, and on Monday police searched the camp where it happened.

Perhaps the show’s biggest scandal actually resulted in a happy ending.

Creating the ultimate conflict of interest, Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton shocked the world after they began dating in 2015.

At the time, each of them was in a respective relationship; however, those separate relationships ended in divorce, enabling the two to date each other.

“If you had told me that that’s who I’m gonna end up with, I would have thought you were crazy,” Blake told Rolling Stone in 2016.

“But she became my closest ally,” he added.

Previously, Blake was married to country icon Miranda Lambert and Kaynette Williams.

Gwen was also in a previous marriage to Gavin Rossdale, which lasted from 2002 to 2016.

She said yes to the country legend after he proposed on October 27, 2020, while in Oklahoma.

At the time, Blake shared on social media: “Hey Gwen, thanks for saving my 2020… And the rest of my life.. I love you. I heard a YES!”

Less than a year later, on July 3, 2021, the couple tied the knot in an intimate ceremony at his Oklahoma ranch.

    BLAKE HATES ADAM

Blake is the only judge to be featured in all 23 seasons of The Voice.

However, this is Blake’s last season with the hit reality competition program.

On October 11, 2022, the country music star took to Instagram to announce his decision to leave the series.

At the time, he revealed: “I’ve been wrestling with this for a while and I’ve decided that it’s time for me to step away from The Voice after next season.”

He also spent years wrestling with fellow judge Adam Levine.

What started as a friendly joke of a feud between the two on-camera turned serious at some point off-camera, and the former friends became bitter enemies.

Adam wasn’t even invited to Blake and Gwen’s wedding.

Instead, the Maroon 5 frontman learned the couple had said “I do” online.

A source told Radar: “Adam had no idea when Gwen and Blake were going to get married.

“Adam wasn’t invited to the wedding and was not given the heads up despite the fact that Blake and Adam used to be as close as brothers when they were both on The Voice together.”

    But other Voice members were.

Show host Carson Daly even officiated Gwen and Blake’s nuptials.

    CEELO GREEN

Forget You singer CeeLo Green would probably like to forget his time on The Voice.

CeeLo appeared on four seasons of the show, from 2011 to 2013.

But in 2012, the singer faced date-rape allegations after a 33-year-old woman, who said she woke up naked in his bed, accused him of putting drugs in her drink.

Two years later, CeeLo pleaded no contest to one felony count of furnishing ecstasy and was sentenced to three years of formal probation.

When NBC announced his return in 2018 as a mentor for Adam Levine’s team, people on social media were quick to point out his problematic past.

“NO! Disappointing & upsetting that (Adam Levine) chose a man who drugged & sexually assaulted a woman, jokes about it & doesn’t understand the meaning of ‘consent’ or respect!” one person slammed on Twitter. “Not someone who ever should mentor.”

Another added: “On what planet would anyone be excited to see CeeLo Green? Bad move, NBC.”

    CHRISTINA AGUILERA

Original judge Christina Aguilera let her personal genie out of a bottle when she slammed the show after leaving it.

The singer was a coach during season one, and stayed on for five more seasons between 2011 and 2016.

But in 2018, Christina bashed the reality show in an interview with Rolling Stone.

“It became something that I didn’t feel was what I had signed up for in season one,” she said. “You realize it’s not about music. It’s about making good TV moments and massaging a story.

“I didn’t get into this business to be a television show host and to be given all these [rules],” she continued. “Especially as a female: You can’t wear this, can’t say that. I would find myself on that show desperately trying to express myself through clothing or makeup or hair. It was my only kind of outlet.”

Christina confessed the only reason she even stayed with the show was because she was comfortable and for the sake of her kids.

    RYAN GALLAGHER

Not every scandal involved the judges. Sometimes, the competitors themselves caused the controversy.

In 2020, at the height of the pandemic, Ryan Gallagher was kicked off the show for “breaking Covid-19 protocols.”

The classically trained singer was reportedly axed to keep the celebrity judges, crew, and fellow competitors safe.

Ryan “broke The Voice’s strict Covid-19 protocols and therefore wasn’t allowed to continue in the competition out of concern for keeping the coaches, crew and fellow competitors safe,” a source told ET Online.

It is not known exactly how the Michigan native defied safety regulations.

The vocalist – whose coach was Kelly Clarkson – was one of the hopefuls in the four-way knockout.

He had been representing Kelly’s team in the battle for the final spot in the top 17.

Michael Catalano, the singer’s personal manager, told People at the time nothing could be further from the truth.

“In fact, recently Ryan’s mother in Michigan was hospitalized with Covid 19 and was in ICU for three weeks. It was a scary time for Ryan and his family and he certainly would not knowingly put anyone at risk by not adhering to the show’s Covid 19 policy.”

Michael added: “As you can imagine there is more to the story here than the show has announced and at an appropriate time and place of our choosing Ryan will respond to these damaging allegations.

“Ryan, whose performing career began at age fifteen as a backup singer for Josh Groban in Michigan, has been devastated by the show’s dismissal. A career as a singer/performer has been his life-long dream.”

THE Voice coach Blake Shelton looked unrecognizable in a resurfaced photo from his “country boy” days.
After more than 20 years in the country music industry, the singer shared a throwback on Wednesday of his past signature mullet hairstyle.

In the old snap, which was shared to Blake’s Twitter, he wore a bright, multi-colored polo shirt with vertical stripes.
While the vibrant shirt was front and center, the singer’s hair also pulled major focus.
The Voice coach rocked a mullet hairstyle, which is known for being shorter on top and longer in the back.
The unique look earned the phrase: “Business in the front, party in the back.”

Blake gave a big smile for the camera as he held onto his guitar and stood in front of a microphone while he appeared to be hanging out inside of a home.
The Twitter caption read: “Our faces when we hear y’all are streaming #ComeBackAsACountryBoy.”
The throwback photo had the country star looking completely unrecognizable with his 2000s fashion, mullet hairstyle, and his youthful baby face.
Now, Blake wears his salt and pepper hair cropped much closer and lets the stubble grow out on his face.

While speaking about his old style with TODAY a few years back, he couldn’t believe he ever wanted that look.
“I mean, that is ridiculous,” Blake said. “Why didn’t my family or friends or somebody tell me how stupid I looked?
“What time period did that look cool?”
He jokingly added: “There were no girls in my life at that point — I can promise you that.”
There have since been a few women in his life, including first wife Kaynette Gern and second wife Miranda Lambert.

Last year, Blake married his longtime girlfriend Gwen Stefani after a few years of dating.
Amid the early days of the pandemic, she even helped him try to get his mullet back.
Blake tweeted in March 2020: “With basically EVERYTHING I had scheduled being canceled for the foreseeable further @gwenstefani, and I have made a decision together.
“I am growing my mullet back as a symbol of hope or some s**t like that.

“Anyway it’s coming back! For real. Stay tuned…”
A few weeks later, tweeted out a “quarantine mullet update,” which featured a video of Gwen pulling her fingers through his hair.
Last year, though, Blake told People that he never should’ve had the hairstyle when he was younger, only as a joke during the pandemic.
While speaking to the outlet about advice for his younger self, he said: ”I would have told that kid, ‘Hey man, the mullet’s not as cool as you think it is.’
”And I would have told myself to get more rest back then. When I started I was 24 and lived life to the max back then.

“It’s probably why I ran out of battery so soon.”
After seeing fellow country artist Morgan Wallen’s mullet, Blake joked while speaking on New 100.3 the Wolf in 2021 that “it’s pretty weak.”
He added: “His mullet is kind of like a bob haircut.
“I wanna see it get down to about the middle of his back, like me and you know, Tracy Lawrence.
“Toby Keith even had some kind of a weird mullet back then. I wanna see some length on that thing.”

Why did Kelly Clarkson and Brandon Blackstock divorce?
Brandon, 45, is a talent manager in the country music business who has managed Blake Shelton and Rascal Flatts.
He co-owns Starstruck Management Company with his father Narvel Blackstock, who also once managed Clarkson.

Clarkson cited “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for their divorce back in 2020.
A source revealed to ET that the pair decided to call it quits “after realizing the relationship hasn’t been working for a while.”
“Kelly and Brandon work together non-stop and that became a contention in their relationship,” the source said.
“Brandon is the EP of her show as well as her manager. Also, Kelly has always brought up wanting more children, which Brandon doesn’t.”

On March 8, 2022, nearly two years later, TMZ reported that the former couple had reached a settlement.
Clarkson kept their Montana ranch home they once shared, noting that Blackstock must pay her $12,500 a month in rent.
TMZ also revealed that despite Brandon challenging their prenup, the judge affirmed its validity.
Brandon was granted spousal support of $115,000 a month, but that will come to an end in January 2024.

The judge legally removed Blackstock from Kelly’s name, and she now legally goes by Kelly Brianne aside from still going as Kelly Clarkson professionally.
How many children do they have together?
Blackstock and Clarkson, who tied the knot in 2013, have two children together: daughter, River Rose, and son, Remington Alexander.
Blackstock is also father to son, Seth, and daughter, Savannah, from a previous marriage.
According to court documents obtained by ET, Clarkson requested joint legal and physical custody of their two kids.

On March 8, it was revealed by TMZ that the custody agreements ruled in Clarkson’s favor.
Clarkson will have primary custody of their two kids unless Brandon moves out of the state of Montana then the terms will be renegotiated.
