DANIEL Radcliffe has gone back to role that made him an international superstar by joining a new Harry Potter project.
The actor, 30, has reprised the role where it all started and read the first chapter of the first ever book, Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone.

Daniel has joined a host of big name celebrities who will take in turns to read one chapter of J.K Rowling’s iconic book to help keep people entertained during lockdown.
Reading from his couch, Daniel reads the chapter about Harry’s first few hours after Lord Voldemort kills his parents and Professor Dumbledore drops him at the Dursley’s house for protection.
Daniel reads the famous first lines: “Mr and Mrs Dursley, of number four, Privet Drive, were proud to say that they were perfectly normal, thank you very much.”
Other celebs to get involved include, David Beckham, Eddie Redmayne, Stephen Fry, Dakota Fanning Claudia Kim and Noma Dumezweni.

Each celebrity will read a chapter a week for 17 weeks with the videos available for free on the Wizarding World website and the audio on Spotify.
J.K announced the exciting project as part of her Wizarding World’s Harry Potter at Home online hub, set up to help people through the coronavirus pandemic.
The tweet reads: “Surprise! We’ve got a treat for you…From today, amazing friends of the Wizarding World are going to take turns reading Harry Potter book one.”
“And to start us off with Chapter 1, we think you’ll agree we have the perfect narrator..”

The author started the initiative last month because because “parents, teachers and carers working to keep children amused and interested while we’re on lockdown might need a bit of magic” and the online hub features quizzes, puzzles and a fan club.

Hearing Daniel speak the famous words, sent Twitter into overdrive with fans reacting with excitement.
One Twitter user wrote: “This made my quarantine.”
While another added: “Don’t mind me, just crying tears of joy over Daniel Radcliffe himself narrating the first chapter of The Philosopher’s Stone.”
A third said: “DANIEL RADCLIFFE READING THE FIRST CHAPTER OF PHILOSOPHER’S STONE IS JUST TOO MUCH FOR ME TO HANDLE.”

Daniel’s return to the Harry Potter franchise comes just weeks after he revealed he drank too much alcohol in his younger years to help him cope with his new found fame.
He said: “I definitely think a lot of the drinking that happened towards the end of Potter, and for a little bit after it finished, it was panic and not knowing what to do next, and not being comfortable enough in who I was to remain sober.”
Daniel became one of the most famous actors in the world when he was plucked from obscurity at the age of 11, landing the role of the schoolboy wizard.
He played Harry in eight films, which are among the highest-grossing of all-time.
Speaking on Radio 4’s Desert Island Discs, he said: “If I went out and if I got drunk I’d suddenly be aware of there being an interest in that.

“Because it’s not just like a drunk guy, it’s ‘Oh Harry Potter’s getting drunk in the bar’ and that carries its own kind of interest for people and also a slightly mocking interest because it is inherently funny for people.”
Daniel said he would often deal with the pressure by drinking more before he decided to quit booze altogether at the age of 20.

HARRY Potter actor Rupert Grint will soon have a property empire to rival the size of ­Hogwarts itself.
Rupert — who earned £40million playing Harry’s pal Ron Weasley in the eight-film adaptation of the famous books by JK Rowling — has just added another £10.6million of homes to his portfolio.

It means he now has a stack of properties worth a total of £24MILLION thanks to savvy investments.
A source said: “Rupert’s become a real property magnate and has been working his magic on building his empire.
“His portfolio is worth around £24million now and he’s growing it all   the time.
“He has started three property businesses which are all bringing in a tidy sum.

“One of his companies, Clay 10, invested in over £8million worth of property in the last financial year.

“Another of his firms, ­Oneonesix Development, has been buying up places just outside of London.
“Rupert is a shrewd investor and is buying up high-spec rental properties with good transport links to the city as well as more plush houses.
“Recently he bought a house for £500,000 in Hitchin, ­Herts, and then spent £1.5million on two neighbouring houses in Luton, Beds.”

That’s not all, though.
Rupert — who also owns Eevil Plan Properties — has also splashed the cash on three properties close to his own home in Herts.
Six-bed mansion
Back in 2009 he treated himself to a massive six-bedroom 18th-century mansion in Kimpton.
The pad, which boasts an indoor swimming pool and tennis courts, has separate housing for staff over its 22 acres of land. It also has a gym,   cinema room, games room and three massive ­reception rooms spread over three floors.
Rupert has never lived at the property but is registered as the owner of the pad, which is in need of ­renovation, according to the latest property brochure on the selling agent’s website.

He paid £5.4million in cash for it, and it is now worth more than £6million.
Not bad going when you consider he has not had to do anything but keep the keys in his back pocket.
The actor, who last month became a father after his ­girlfriend, actress Georgia Groome, gave birth to a ­daughter, is still on the hunt for more investments.
The insider continued: “Rupert has been bitten by the ­property bug and has become really knowledgeable about his investments.

“He’s been clever by building up such a varied portfolio, as it will keep the cash rolling in for the rest of his life.”

For King, the character perfectly embodies the villain role with her looks, voice, and attire.

The Shining author even compared her with another greatest book villain, Hannibal Lecter in Thomas Harris’s The Silence of the Lambs. King wrote in his review of the book in Entertainment Weekly:

“A great fantasy novel can’t exist without a great villain, and while You-Know-Who is a little too far out in the supernatural ozone to qualify, the new Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher at Hogwarts does just fine in this regard. The gently smiling Dolores Umbridge, with her girlish voice, toad-like face, and clutching stubby fingers, is the greatest make-believe villain to come along since Hannibal Lecter.”

King further explained why Umbridge resonated with everyone as an intimidating villain. He shared that the character represented the “Really Scary Teacher,” who terrified the readers as a child. The readers of the book feared turning the pages, wondering what the character would do next. Yet, they anticipated that she would get her karma in the end. King noted in humor that a professor capable of banning Harry Potter from Quidditch could do anything. King shared:

“One needn’t be a child to remember The Really Scary Teacher, the one who terrified us so badly that we dreaded the walk to school in the morning, and we turn the pages partly in fervent hopes that she will get her comeuppance… but also in growing fear of what she will get up to next. For surely a teacher capable of banning Harry Potter from playing Quidditch is capable of anything.”

The character was portrayed as vicious as her book counterpart in the film adaptation. The Crown actress Imelda Staunton played the character, and like Stephen King, she too was disturbed by her character in the film.

When Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix was adapted into a movie, the role of Stephen King’s chosen greatest villain was played by Imelda Staunton. It was not an easy task for Staunton, as she revealed that her character didn’t have an ounce of sympathy. According to the Vera Drake actress, Umbridge was a bloody monster and an utterly deluded woman. She shared with EW’s Binge podcast:

“I don’t have to have sympathy at all, not in the slightest. I think she’s a bloody monster and to be played as such. I don’t need to understand what she does, but from a character point of view, she believes she’s doing the absolute best for that school. Yet again, I have embraced a completely and utterly deluded woman.”

The director of the film, David Yates, explained to Staunton the political angle of the character. He explained to Staunton that what Umbridge stood for was a form of “ethnic cleansing.” Yates’s explanation helped her realize that she was “not just a lady in a very nice array of pink outfits,” but “madness and cruelty dressed up.”

Fans might get to see another iteration of the villain character in the announced Max series version of Harry Potter, but only in the distant future. Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix and other films in the franchise are now available for streaming on Max.

It comes after Rowling, 54, faced a backlash for her comments on Friday about a news story with the headline: ‘Creating a more equal post COVID-19 world for people who menstruate.’
She retweeted it and wrote: “I’m sure there used to be a word for those people. Someone help me out. Wumben? Wimpund? Woomud?”
Daniel voiced strong objections to her words in his statement via US organisation The Trevor Project, which aims to prevent suicides in the LGBTQ community.
He wrote: “Transgender women are women. Any statement to the contrary erases the identity and dignity of transgender people and goes against all advice given by professional health care associations who have far more expertise on this subject matter than either Jo or I.”

“I know and love trans people, but erasing the concept of sex removes the ability of many to meaningfully discuss their lives. It isn’t hate to speak the truth.

“The idea that women like me, who’ve been empathetic to trans people for decades, feeling kinship because they’re vulnerable in the same way as women – ie, to male violence – ‘hate’ trans people because they think sex is real and has lived consequences – is a nonsense.
“I respect every trans person’s right to live any way that feels authentic and comfortable to them.
“I’d march with you if you were discriminated against on the basis of being trans. At the same time, my life has been shaped by being female. I do not believe it’s hateful to say so.”

Hailey called out some of the ‘blind items’ on TikTok, which referenced marital troubles and accused her of cheating.
‘Just FYI the stories and constant “blind items” I see on TikTok are 100% of the time wrong,’ she wrote last month on her Instagram Story. ‘Made out of thin air… come from the land of delusion.
‘So I know it may be fun feeding into these stories but just know they’re always false xx sorry to spoil it,’ added Hailey.
Another source has since told People that the couple is ‘doing really well,’ adding: ‘There’s no divorce and no truth to that whatsoever. They are very, very happy.’

Kelly Clarkson rose to fame when she was the first-ever winner of American Idol back in 2002.

Clarkson was born April 24, 1982, and grew up in Burelson, Texas (a suburb of Fort Worth). When she was in seventh grade, a choir teacher first recognized her powerful voice, and after high school she moved to Los Angeles to try and make it in Hollywood.

After failing to break into show business, she returned to Texas and in 2002 became a contestant on the first season of American Idol. The rest is history.

Miranda Lambert certainly understands the finer things in life. The country music icon lived high on the hog at her opulent estate in a prestigious, affluent neighborhood in Nashville, which she sold in 2020.

Pictures of Lambert’s luxurious Nashville mansion will ring several bells with fans who followed her on social media during the COVID-19 pandemic. Lambert and her husband, ex-New York City police officer Brendan McLoughlin, spent part of the isolation period in their magnificent 5-bedroom, 5.5-bathroom, 5,800-square-foot Nashville home, located in the Forest Hills area.

Fans got to see inside via various posts she made to social media, including one in which her shirtless husband made dinner in the kitchen, which features double islands. She also sang the new year in by performing “Bluebird” on the “magic porch” that offers soaring views of the hills, though that performance may have been recorded previously, since public records show the house sold in September of 2020.

Lambert sold the home for $2,595,000, significantly higher than the $1.75 million purchase price in 2015, yet below her $2.9 million asking price.

The estate most recently sold for $3.5 million in 2023.

The gated, very private residence offers “ultimate privacy and location,” according to its listing, which also touted “warmth and style” and “incredible views.”

The expansive living room boasts a vaulted ceiling and a stone fireplace, while the house offers several porches perfect for enjoying the breathtaking views. The master suite features a private porch, along with separate bathrooms. Additionally, each bedroom in this luxurious home is designed as a suite with its own bathroom.

The exterior of the house is just as spectacular, highlighted by a series of brick retaining walls and meticulous landscaping.

Lambert has also owned a 400-acre farm in rural Tennessee, though it’s not clear if she still owns that property.

Despite being one of the most recognizable names in all of music, there was a point that Shania Twain fully believed her singing career was over.

For years, she was unable to project her voice, which doctors assumed was due to Lyme disease. Twain contracted the disease from a tick bite in 2004. Her vocal problems would eventually lead to a 15-year hiatus and that longstanding belief that she would never be on stage again.

During a visit to the Drew Barrymore Show on Oct. 16, Twain opened up about coming to terms with what could have been her new reality.

“When I really was convinced by every medical professional, saying, ‘We don’t know what’s wrong with you, so we can’t fix it. We can’t determine what’s wrong with you. Why you can’t scream and yell and control your voice, we don’t know,’” she recalls. “Then, I did relax into it.”

“I wasn’t complacent,” she continues, “I wasn’t giving up. I was — in fact — I was starting over with new possibilities. It was a real liberation.”

The “Giddy Up” singer got to a place where she realized she couldn’t do anything about her vocal situation, so she began exploring other avenues in the music industry.

“I think that allowed me to appreciate the songwriting more than ever,” she shares. “I didn’t have to be the singer anymore. I didn’t have to be in the spotlight anymore. I can write for other people to be in the spotlight.”

By allowing herself to go to the worst case scenario, Twain was released from a lot of stress regarding the unknown.

“This is the thing, you don’t know what’s next. You don’t know what’s around the corner, you don’t know that. I think it’s very important for me to live in that reality,” she confesses.

“I didn’t know that I was ever gonna get my voice back again. I really didn’t know that yet. So, okay, I grieved it and then, you know, science opened a door and said we do know what’s wrong with you and you can fix it,” she adds.

Twain underwent open-throat surgery in 2018 and slowly regained her vocal strength.

Fast forward to 2023 and the country veteran has been touring on her Queen of Me Tour, promoting her latest album of the same name, and is planning a return to Las Vegas for another residency in 2024.
