Britney Spears brands sister Jamie Lynn Spears a ‘b***h’ in a since-deleted video… after ‘completely dysfunctional’ singer hit out at her family amid shock $2million settlement with father Jamie

Britney Spears called her sister, Jamie Lynn Spears, a ‘b***h’ in a since-deleted video that had been uploaded to her Instagram stories on Tuesday.

The Baby One More Time hitmaker, 42 – who recently deleted her Instagram account as insiders claimed she’s ‘completely dysfunctional’ – filmed herself while sitting in the passenger seat of a vehicle.

She was joined by others, including an individual whom she called her assistant, as they headed to go horseback riding.

At one point during the clip, per TMZ, the songstress brought up camping and after asking the others if they have done so, Britney added, ‘My sister did on a TV show!’

The pop star seemingly was referencing to the Zoey 101 actress’s time on U.K.’s reality series titled, I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here – which she appeared in last year in 2023.

Britney Spears, 42, called her sister, Jamie Lynn Spears, 33, a 'b***h' in a since-deleted video that had been uploaded to her Instagram stories on Tuesday

The Baby One More Time hitmaker - who recently deleted her Instagram account as insiders claimed she's 'completely dysfunctional' - filmed herself while sitting in the passenger seat of a vehicle; the sisters seen in 2017 in L.A.

‘And they bathed her in the jungle, little s**t,’ Britney continued. ‘She said, “Bathe me, ‘cuz I’m like, stuck in the jungle and I miss my kids. Oh, cater to me.” Little b***h.’

After a brief pause, the performer then questioned, ‘Now, what would we do in the jungle?’

In text added towards the bottom of the reel, she also wrote, ‘I like talking like my assistant…she’s British!!!’

‘I wanna be a little b***h and get a bath in the jungle like my sis,’ the Toxic singer concluded.

Britney’s since-deleted Instagram story comes shortly after Jamie uploaded a cryptic post after the pop singer shockingly settled her $2 million legal battle with father, Jamie Spears, earlier last week.

The settlement causes Britney to pay her dad’s legal bills which amount to $2 million while she receives nothing, leaving the star reportedly ‘furious,’ according to TMZ.

The former Nickelodeon actress took to her own Instagram stories last week on Friday to share a photo of a boy pursing his lips, along with the text: ‘Me watching what I predicted unfold after everyone told me I was crazy.’

Both Britney and her younger sister have had a rocky relationship over the years, but recently, appeared to have been on good terms.

Back in 2022, their feud reignited when Jamie published her memoir titled, Things I Should Have Said.

Britney notably slammed her younger sibling for ‘writing a memoir at her expense’ while also labeling her as ‘crazy.’

But in July 2023 during an interview with Variety, Jamie expressed that she only has ‘absolute love’ for Britney, but stated that backlash she received from her sister’s social media posts was ‘hard.’

‘I have nothing but absolute love for every single one of my family members. If I learned anything from last year, being so open and feeling like I had to defend myself at times, I don’t feel like there’s anything else that I need to say.’

‘I just have to leave it where it is because those conversations are meant to be personal. All I can focus on now is my girls, my husband and the work that I’m doing.’

Also last year in June, Britney shared an Instagram post after she seemingly visited Jamie on set of Zoey 102, per People.

At the time, she penned, ‘It was nice to visit my sister on set last week !!! I’ve missed you guys so much !!! Loyal girls stay home but it’s so nice to visit family!!!’

However, Britney is no stranger to branding her sister a ‘b***h,’ and late last year in October, it was revealed that the singer called Jamie a ‘total b**ch’ in her own memoir, The Woman In Me.

Britney's since-deleted Instagram story comes shortly after Jamie uploaded a cryptic post after the pop singer shockingly settled her $2 million legal battle with father, Jamie Spears, earlier last week

Both Britney and her younger sister have had a rocky relationship over the years, but recently, appeared to have been on good terms; Jamie seen in December 2022 in L.A.

Along with Britney’s latest, since-deleted video on Tuesday, she also notably hit out against her family over the weekend – and stated that they ‘hurt’ her while claiming that ‘no justice has been served.’

The Grammy Award winner made a pointed statement with her latest book recommendation, posting the cover of Jennette McCurdy’s I’m Glad My Mom Died.

‘Stay nice folks!!! Good book,’ she wrote of the Nickelodeon alum’s memoir, which followed her experience as a child star with her late abusive mother.

Spears additionally posted a mirror selfie on Sunday of her half-naked backside as she responded to the legal ruling on Instagram. ‘I was actually right about nerve damage in my back!!!’ she started in the caption.

‘I have to get [acupuncture] every day of my life now!!! Words and thinking too hard make it worse!!! If people only knew how I’ve had to crawl to my own door one time!!!

Britney continued, ‘My family hurt me!!! There has been no justice and probably never will be!!! The people who sat and did absolutely nothing when they did that for four months are smooth sailing!!!’

Her post came after Britney quietly settled her years-long legal battle with father Jamie, 71, last week.

The ruling saddles Britney with Jamie’s $2 million legal bill, in addition to the $4 million she’s reportedly spent on her own lawyer.

With nothing awarded to the Baby One More Time artist, Britney is said to be in a bigger financial hole than before the trial.

‘It’s funny ‘cus till this very day I haven’t told them face to face!!! I text through IG but I honestly believe it will not be so safe if I ever did go face to face so!!!

‘The child in me knows they would be destroyed and that’s basically it!!! I do miss my home in Louisiana and I wish I could visit but they took everything!!!’ added Britney.

After hitting out against her family, Britney briefly deleted her Instagram account as insiders claimed she is ‘completely dysfunctional.’

TMZ reported that friends of the singer have branded her ‘completely dysfunctional’ and claim she is in a worse mental and financial situation than she was when she was under conservatorship.

The insiders have claimed that Britney is suffering from ‘shocking and radical mood swings’ and has become increasingly isolated.

One source has told the site that those who have remained close to the star believe she was doing better while under conservatorship, which ended in 2021.

‘She had lots of freedom in the conservatorship and the restrictions were there to protect her. She’s not protected anymore,’ claimed the insider.

The star is also allegedly in danger of blowing her $60million fortune after splashing out over a million dollars for each of her monthly trips to French Polynesia and Hawaii, photos of which she shared on social media.

She is reportedly spending thousands on private jets and five star resorts for the regular holidays, with an insider claiming: ‘She cannot afford this… she is in danger of going broke.’

In regards to the shock settlement with father Jamie, a source told The Sun that settling was to ‘protect her from reliving the traumas of her conservatorship.’

‘Her legal team decided the focus should be on protecting her from reliving the traumas of her conservatorship,’ the insider claimed to the outlet.

PRINCE Harry has been told to “get the hell out” by furious Americans after calling the First Amendment “bonkers”.

The Duke of Sussex was hit with backlash after complaining about the US constitution on a podcast, while admitting he doesn’t fully understand it.

Furious Americans told the Duke to ‘go back to Britain’
Talking about life in LA, his family and future plans on Dax Shepard’s Armchair Expert, Harry said: “I’ve got so much I want to say about the First Amendment as I sort of understand it, but it is bonkers.

“I don’t want to start going down the First Amendment route because that’s a huge subject and one which I don’t understand because I’ve only been here a short time.

“But, you can find a loophole in anything. You can capitalise or exploit what’s not said rather than uphold what is said.”

One outraged American wrote on social media: “If he has a problem with the constitution then he can go back to Britain.”

And another blasted: “Get the hell out of America.”

Texas Congressman Dan Crewnshaw waded into the tirade of criticism Harry received, adding: “Well I just doubled the size of my Independence Day party.”

The First Amendment protects several basic freedoms in the US.

This includes freedom of religion, freedom of speech, freedom of the press, the right to assemble, and the right to petition the government.

Outraged people commented on how he was upsetting American’s and Brits
Prince Harry jetted off to the US with wife Meghan Markle and their son Archie to start a new life last year.

Back on UK turf, Nigel Farage tweeted: “For Prince Harry to condemn the USA’s First Amendment shows he has lost the plot.

“Soon he will not be wanted on either side of the pond.”

The royal spoke about his shock at the amount of attention he received while living in Beverly Hills.

He complained about the media “feeding frenzy”.

In the same podcast chat, Harry blasted dad Charles’s parenting and said he moved to California to “break the cycle” of pain for wife Meghan and their kids.

Elsewhere in the podcast, Harry revealed…

Prince Harry claims his life is like the film The Truman Show and he is targeted with “vile and toxic abuse” by trolls
Harry revealed how he and Meghan Markle first met up in a supermarket – and ‘pretended’ they didn’t know each other to avoid attracting attention
Harry tries to have “compassion” for trolls, but finds it “really hard when you’re on the receiving end”
The Duke said that life had felt “more free” since his move to LA with Meghan
Harry doesn’t believe in the “old way of thinking” where girls just “want to be a princess”
Meghan Markle gave Prince Harry words of wisdom about Royal life – telling him “you can create your own life better than any princess”

The Duke, 36, claimed his father, 72, “suffered” due to his upbringing by the Queen and Philip, then “treated me the way he was treated”.

Harry hailed mum Diana’s “immense impact” but said he didn’t cope with her death until Meghan suggested therapy.

In a sweary podcast chat, he described royal life as a mixture of The Truman Show film and being in a zoo.

The royal also revealed he wanted to quit royal duty when he was in his twenties, saying: “I didn’t want this job.”

The Duke opened up about his mental health struggles in a brutally frank, and profanity-laden, chat with US podcast host Dax Shepard.

    What is the First Amendment?

The First Amendment is one of ten amendments to the Constitution that were adopted on December 15, 1791, as part of the Bill of Rights.

This is a written document protecting civil liberties under US law.

The First Amendment says: “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.”

While the First Amendment protects freedoms of speech, religion, press, assembly and petition, other amendments under the Bill of Rights dealt with the protection of other American values.

These include the Second Amendment right to bear arms and the Sixth Amendment right to a trial by jury.

He also claimed that he was told “you need help” while he was growing up but rejected it, saying: “There is nothing wrong with me.”

Only weeks after telling Oprah Winfrey in a bombshell interview that his dad was “trapped”, Harry again opened up about their father-son relationship.

He said on the Armchair Expert podcast: “I verbalise it, which is, ‘Isn’t life about breaking the cycle’?

“There’s no blame, I don’t think we should be pointing the finger or blaming anybody.

“But certainly when it comes to parenting, if I have experienced some form of pain or suffering because of the pain or suffering perhaps my father or my parents suffered, I’m gonna make sure that I break that cycle so that I don’t pass it on, basically.

“There is a lot of genetic pain and suffering that gets passed on anyway. As parents we should be doing the most that we can to say, ‘You know what, that happened to me, I’m gonna make sure that’s not going to happen to you’.”

Following Harry’s “disgraceful” swipe at Charles’ and Philip’s parenting skills, royal aides reportedly want the Prince and Meghan to give up their titles.

Inside Princess Charlotte’s ‘low key’ 9th birthday plans – including ‘joke present’ & Prince William’s ‘big role’

PRINCE William and Kate Middleton’s only daughter Princess Charlotte turns nine today and will be celebrating with her tight knit family.

According to royal author Claudia Joseph, the young royal will have a “low key” birthday this year, and Prince William could step up with a very important part of the day.

The Princess of Wales is currently recovering at home following her planned abdominal surgery in January, and following her cancer diagnosis, which was revealed in March.

The royal expert told Fabulous: “Usually Kate will stay up into the early hours and make the children’s cakes.

“It depends how well she’s feeling, I imagine whether she will do that, or William might even make the cake, for all we know.”

As the Easter holidays have finished, the young princess will be spending the day at £7,000-a-term Lambrook School with her siblings, but will celebrate whens he returns to their family home, Adelaide Cottage.

Claudia added: “I think this birthday is going to be very unusual for all the children this year because obviously, Kate’s having treatment for cancer.

“I think that this is going to be a very low key birthday for Charlotte.

“She’s obviously going to be going to school for the majority of the day.

“So there might be a happy birthday song in the playground, but it will be lessons as normal.

“And then in the afternoon, I imagine that it will be a family occasion.

“She will obviously open her presents with her family and her parents. And I think she’ll have a birthday cake.”

    Down-to-earth family

While the Wales family are now worth over £1billion – thanks to William inheriting the Duchy of Cornwall property portfolio when Charles became King – they don’t tend to be extravagant in their presents, says Claudia.

She said: “I think that obviously the Wales children have a very privileged lifestyle.

“They have access to lots of palaces. And there are lots of very nice gifts they’ve been given over their lifetime but William and Kate are very keen to give their children the simple pleasures in life.

“That’s what matters to them most. That’s how Kate was brought up.”

When it comes to presents, Charlotte will get gifts that “appeal to her”, says the biographer.

She continued: “The royal family is very well known for their joke presents and they’ve given each other loo sets, rubber gloves, all sorts of things in the past.

“And there’s certainly the Waleses have a sense of humour, so I imagine there might well be a joke present among the lot.

    Inside Princess Charlotte’s favourite game

THE Prince of Wales has shared how he loves watching his children have fun with their cousins, but one particular game is divisive.

The future king told Radio Marsden’s Barry Alston that – like many families around the country – they love a competitive game of monopoly.

Prince William shared: “When I see my children meet up with my cousins’ children, and they all have a wonderful time playing together, it’s very special.

“We love Monopoly and Risk, that’s a good game, it goes on for hours and usually everyone gets really cross because they lose but that’s what I like playing.”

“Charlotte is a huge fan of ballet and dancing and tap, so it would be expected for them to tap into that.

“I think the Waleses are very keen on experiences and last year we saw Kate take Charlotte for a treat to watch Cinderella at the Royal Opera House.

“They won’t be extravagant gifts, they’ll be fun gifts, outdoorsy, they’re keen on the great outdoors, as we all know.”

    Young princess

Charlotte was born on May 2, 2015, at St Mary’s Hospital in Paddington, and we’ve seen her grow into a sweet “mini-me” of mum, Kate.

They have access to lots of palaces. And there are lots of very nice gifts they’ve been given over their lifetime but William and Kate are very keen to give their children the simple pleasures in life

    Claudia JosephRoyal biographer

She was brought into the world in the infamous Lindo Wing, and weighed 8lbs 3oz.

Her full name – Princess Charlotte Elizabeth Diana of Wales – has some very sentimental ties.

Her middle names are those of both her late grandmother, Princess Diana, and her great-grandmother Her Majesty The Queen.

From nailing her own little royal wave to delighting fans with her funny sayings, Princess Charlotte often steals the show.

Royal fans have witnessed her perfectly perform royal duties as a bridesmaid at two royal weddings and for her first engagements with her parents.

But it’s the bond she has with her two cheeky brothers that regularly entertains the public, including how she keeps George and Louis in check at big events.

Claudia added: “I think Princess Charlotte has always been a happy child. I think we’ve only seen one tantrum in the entire time she’s been in the public eye.

“We’ve seen her stick her tongue out at the regatta. She likes the attention, she likes having fun, she enjoys herself.

“She’s also incredibly keen on sport.

“Kate’s taken the children to Buckingham Palace to learn to swim in the swimming pool there. They’ve had lessons at the Hurlingham Club.

“She has dance lessons at school.

“They’ve been to sailing, football matches obviously, to watch William’s beloved Aston Villa.

“And they’re a family of animal lovers, hamsters, dogs, horses, you name it. They love animals.”

I think Princess Charlotte has always been a happy child. I think we’ve only seen one tantrum in the entire time she’s been in the public eye

    Claudia JosephRoyal biographer

There is a possibility that Charlotte’s title could change from Princess as she gets older.

But rather than losing royal status, which is very unlikely, she will gain additional titles.

When the Queen‘s eldest daughter, Princess Anne dies, Charlotte could be given the title of Princess Royal – a title that can only be held by one person at any given time.

The princess could also end up getting a Dukedom if she chooses to get married, like her father.

Prince William was given the additional title of Duke of Cambridge when he married her mother, and has since inherited the title of the Prince of Wales from his father when he became king.

Buckingham Palace posts brilliant response days after meghan Markle teases her jams

Buckingham Palace ’s official store has come up with an ad for its own strawberry preserves

Are the royal butter knives out for Meghan Markle?

Just days after the Duchess of Sussex teased her lifestyle brand by sending numbered pots of her strawberry jam to fifty of her closest influencers, Buckingham Palace’s official store has come up with an ad for its own, thoroughly royal, strawberry preserves.

Last week Meghan, 42, depended on her high-profile friends to share images of the hand-tied pots of American Riviera Orchard jam nestled in bowl of oranges.

Today, in a video shared with their 557,000 Instagram followers, Buckingham Palace Shop’s official account posted its own take on the sweet preserve.

Set perhaps pointedly to music from Mozart’s Dissonance Quartet the reel suggests four very British ways to enjoy the product that, it boasts, is made using only the finest of British berries.

And while Meghan’s American Riviera Orchard products will carry a logo that many have noted for its striking similarity to a royal crest, Buckingham Palace’s version comes with the real deal.

Stamped on the side of each $4 jar, which retails at 3.95pound sterling and ships internationally, is the Royal Coat of Arms which bears the motto of the Order of the Garter – ‘Honi soit qui mal y pense,’ which means, ‘Shame on him who thinks evil of it.’

No price has yet been revealed for Markle’s jam, nor is it known if it will be mass produced. But brand experts have pointed to a similarity between American Riviera Orchard’s aesthetic and that of the ultra-exclusive celebrity food brand, Flamingo Estates which sells pots of LeBron James or Julianne Moore honey for an eye-watering $250 a pop.

In its post that might as well carry the hashtag #jamwars the palace helpfully stirs the pot suggesting that customers enjoying their jam ‘On a scone as part of a cream tea. On a crumpet. With a croissant. On toast.’

Meghan is filming a new Netflix cooking show to share the ‘joys of cooking, gardening, entertaining and friendship’

The oh-so-subtle sting in the tail of this sweet post appears to have not been lost on its many viewers. One of the top comments so far reads, ‘Buckingham Palace over Montecito any day.’

Last week DailyMail.com revealed that filming had become of Markel’s latest Netflix project – a cooking home in which she promises to invite viewers into the kitchen. Just don’t expect the kitchen to be hers.

Instead, as seen in these exclusive DailyMail.com pictures, the Duchess of domesticity has set up her stall in a sprawling property two miles from the Montecito mansion she and Prince Harry, 39, share with children Archie, 4, and Lilibet, 2, and their revolving cast of staff.

Just days after she meticulously numbered one-through-fifty pots of homemade strawberry jam and sent them to dozens of her closest influencers, filming for 42-year-old Meghan’s latest venture has begun in earnest.

On Tuesday Meghan, who recently teased the launch of American Riviera Orchard with soft-focus footage of herself arranging pink flowers and stirring something in a bowl, spent the day surrounded by the blooms of Florabundance, a florist 10-minutes drive from Montecito in the coastal California town of Carpinteria.

On Wednesday production trucks lined the driveway of a $5million property set in eight acres of avocado trees and lemon groves in a gated community in Montecito for filming of ‘interior and exterior dialogue scenes,’ that began on Sunday and is slated to continue until late June.

Security vehicles guarded both of the 4,500 square feet home’s entrances.

The property is the home of Tom and Sherrie Cipolla – both fixtures on the bougie Montecito society scene and generous donors to several good causes locally including the Storyteller Center – a therapeutic preschool for children facing adversities.

They have hosted fundraisers for the center at the same home in which Meghan is currently playing house.

Tom, 75, and wife Sherrie, 69, parents to two adult children, have a property portfolio worth more than $20million, encompassing two dozen buildings in Los Angeles County and Santa Barbara. The couple also runs a physical therapy practice that last year boasted sales in excess of $1.3million.

When approached by DailyMail.com Sherrie Cipolla declined to comment on the purpose of the film crew currently camped out in her home.

The family room and kitchen with its French doors opening to a patio, lawn and mountains, Caesartone countertops and 48-inch Thermador range are, appropriately enough, the center piece of the Montecito property in which the Duchess of Sussex will hone her carefully curated image of domestic goddess.

Here, from the comfort of somebody else’s home, she will share ‘the joys of cooking, gardening, entertaining and friendship,’ – as well as chasing ratings.

Meghan announced her new business venture, American Riviera Orchard, with a clip which showed the Duchess cooking in a kitchen with copper pans hanging over her head as she whisked

Last month DailyMail.com revealed the staggering scope of products that Meghan intends to sell as founder of American Riviera Orchard – named because the coastal enclave of Montecito is known to its wealthy inhabitants as America’s riviera.

Apparently in a bid to out-brand both Martha Stewart and Gwyneth Paltrow, Meghan will sell everything from gardening trowels, to tea towels, scented candles, make-up, skin care products and pet shampoo.

If you can dream it chances are Meghan will sell it.

In recent days Harry and Meghan have embarked on yet another relaunch, this time closely married to their upcoming Netflix projects.

Harry is set to bring polo to the masses while his wife appears set to bring cooking to everyone’s kitchen but her own.

Harry and Meghan face backlash over their latest royal tour

Harry and Meghan’s royal tour in all but name: Experts say Sussexes want their own ‘rival royal roadshow’ with their unofficial trip to Nigeria, as they accuse couple of trying to ‘have their cake and eat it’ by ‘exploiting’ Palace connections

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been accused of wanting their own ‘rival royal roadshow’ as they embark on their first non-official royal tour of Nigeria, with royal experts claiming the couple are trying to ‘have their cake and eat it’.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are set to travel to the African country in May after being invited by its chief of defence staff to take part in ‘cultural activities’ and meet service members on an unofficial visit.

One royal commentator accused the couple of ‘playing the “Royal Card”‘ as their ‘income lifeline’ while another said it was ‘ironic’ the couple are happy to visit Commonwealth countries but not as official royal ambassadors.

Yesterday, Brigadier General Tukur Gusau expressed ‘honour and delight’ that the couple had accepted the invitation to visit the country, after meeting Harry at last year’s Invictus Games.

Their tour of Nigeria will take place just days after the Prince is set to fly to the UK to mark the tenth anniversary of the Invictus Games at a service at St Paul’s Cathedral. No senior members of the royal family are expected to attend.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex (pictured in South Africa in 2019) are set to travel to the African country in May after being invited by its chief of defence staff

Harry and Meghan's acceptance of the invitation - their first visit to Nigeria as a couple - is said to have left the country's defence headquarters feeling 'honoured' and 'delighted' (Harry and Meghan pictured at the Invictus Games as they attend the Ukraine v Nigeria volleyball match)

Harry will then jet off to the Commonwealth country to meet his wife who is also not believed to be travelling alongside him to the UK, in what will be his first visit since Kate’s shock cancer diagnosis.

Following the announcement of the trip, royal experts were quick to point out that the couple’s visit will be a royal tour in all but name – and could even confusion and threaten diplomatic relationships.

Royal biographer Tom Bower told MailOnline:  ‘Playing the “Royal Card” has become Meghan’s and Harry’s income lifeline. Once again, the ‘privacy-seeking’ couple are exploiting the family they have outrageously denounced to pump up their publicity.

‘Undoubtedly, the trip will be financed by the Nigerian government. Their motives, as members of the Commonwealth, remain obscure.’

Meanwhile royal author Phil Dampier suggested there was an irony to the visit, as Harry and Meghan have previously been critical of the Commonwealth, with the Duchess admitting she ‘did not know’ about it until after she joined the firm.

Royal author Phil Dampier said: ‘It’s ironic that the late Queen wanted Harry and Meghan to very much be her ambassadors throughout the Commonwealth and spread goodwill among its fifty or so nations, but they didn’t want to do it as royals.

‘Now they are happy to pick and choose invitations they receive from these countries. They did so in Jamaica and now plan to travel to Nigeria, a country his mother Diana toured with the King in the early 1990s.

Prince Harry will fly to Britain in just over a week's time for the Invictus Games' 10th anniversary where he will give a reading at St Paul's Cathedral - but there is no mention of Meghan being in attendance

‘They are in effect trying to set up a rival court, their own royal roadshow, and I think people can see through it.

‘They heavily criticised the monarchy and the Commonwealth in their Netflix shows and Harry’s book Spare, yet they are happy to be invited simply because of their royal connections.’

Mr Dampier said that unofficial visits conducted by the pair could ‘blunder into a diplomatic incident’ if they couple ‘say or do the wrong thing’.

He added: ‘It’s all trying to have your cake and eat it, do commercial deals where it suits, but do some quasi-official duties to make out you are still important on the world stage.

‘Some will say they have every right to do this but it smacks of the half in and half out position the late Queen tried to avoid.’

Royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams added: ‘The Sussexes’ behaviour during their visit will be watched with care, as the comments about the Commonwealth in their documentary Harry and Meghan, for Netflix, were far from flattering.

‘If there is to be any healing of the rift in the royal family, they must avoid any comment or action that might be construed as being detrimental to the monarchy and to its pivotal links with the Commonwealth.’

Meghan greets Glory Essien, who will be competing for Nigeria at the Invictus Games

Meghan penned her autograph on to the Nigeria flag  as she met thrilled members of the nation's Invictus team

Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex, and Meghan, Duchess of Sussex are pictured attending the closing ceremony of the Invictus Games in Germany last year

Harry and Meghan quit their roles as senior royals in January 2020 before making the move to Canada and subsequently settling down in the Californian enclave of Montecito.

The visit to Nigeria comes after the Duchess discovered that she was ’43 per cent Nigerian’ after doing a genealogy test.

Speaking on her podcast Archetypes to Nigerian-American comedian Ziwe Fumudoh she said: ‘I’m going to start to dig deeper into all this because anybody that I’ve told, especially Nigerian women, are like ‘What!”

At last year’s Invictus Games in Dusseldorf, Germany, she was hailed ‘our Princess’ by a Nigerian athlete at the games.

Competitor Glory Essien described Meghan as ‘my Nigerian sister’ before posting a selfie of them together watching the games in the stand with prince Harry.

She captioned the post: ‘Our princess is in the house to watch her people play the village of Ukraine.’

Meanwhile an Invictus Games organiser revealed last year that Meghan ‘can’t wait to visit Nigeria for her mum and the kids’ after discovering her heritage.

During last year’s games the defence chief introduced Meghan to members of their team using the nickname Amira Ngozi Lolo –  adding that she could use if she ever visited the country.

No senior member of the royal family is expected to be at the event. Neither the Sussexes' office nor Buckingham Palace have confirmed any plans for Harry to meet with either his brother Prince William

Amira is a warrior princess from a legend, Ngozi means ‘blessed’ and Lolo is ‘royal wife’.

Derek Cobbinah, who helped co-ordinate Nigeria’s debut in this year’s competition, told Hello! that the Duchess was ‘deeply touched’ by the nickname and that she is hoping to organise a family trip to the country.

‘She said she couldn’t wait to visit Nigeria for her mum and the kids,’ he revealed.

‘She’s always welcome to visit Nigeria and other African countries.’

The couple’s upcoming trip to Nigeria comes just months as they flew out to Jamaica to attend the glitzy premiere of the Bob Marley film One Love.

Their visit in January raised a few eyebrows as the Caribbean country continues to move ahead with plans to cut ties with the British monarchy with a referendum set to be held later this year.

While working members of the Royal Family Harry and Meghan were president and vice-president of the Queen’s Commonwealth Trust with Harry being appointed the Commonwealth youth ambassador in 2018.

Harry and Meghan were pictured with Jamaica's Prime Minister Andrew Holness, who wants to ditch the monarchy

Harry and Meghan posed with Holness and his wife Juliet in Jamaica

Yet in their Netflix documentary Harry & Meghan, the show branded the Queen’s much-loved Commonwealth ‘Empire 2.0’, while other claims are made that ‘nothing has changed’ from the UK’s colonial past, and Brexit supporters are accused of being racist and having ‘horrible views.

Harry will arrive in the UK on May 8. He was last seen in the UK in February when he made a dash across the Atlantic to be with his cancer-stricken father after the King courageously announced his diagnosis to the world.

He is expected to provide a reading at the event, marking a decade since the games were founded as a sporting event for injured and sick military personnel and veterans.

Actor Damian Lewis is also expected to recite the Invictus poem at St Paul’s for the anniversary of the games for injured servicemen and women.

A statement published on the Invictus Games’ social media reads: ‘The Invictus Games Foundation will celebrate 10 years of changing lives and saving lives with a ‘Service of Thanksgiving’ at St Paul’s Cathedral on May 8th.

‘We will be joined by our Patron, Prince Harry, the Duke of Sussex, actor Damian Lewis and members of the worldwide Invictus Community to mark the occasion.’

However, Meghan is not mentioned. As the event is just two days after their son Archie turns five, it is likely she will stay at home.

Will Kate Middleton and Prince William release a photo for Charlotte’s birthday? Royal fans eagerly await a new picture of the Princess as she turns nine

Princess Charlotte is set to turn nine tomorrow, with royal watchers all over the world eagerly anticipating a new picture of the young royal.

Many are wondering if the Prince and Princess of Wales will share a new snap of their only daughter, following the fallout from Kate Middleton’s photoshop scandal earlier this year.

Prince Louis, to mark his sixth birthday last month.

Kensington Palace typically releases portraits of the Wales children early in the morning to mark their birthdays.

However, in a break with tradition, William and Kate shared a photo of their younger son on Tuesday afternoon rather than at midnight on his birthday as is customary with new royal portraits. They also shared an unseen wedding photo to mark their 13th wedding anniversary.

The Mail’s Rebecca English revealed that the couple had initially decided not to issue one at all given their recent appeals for privacy at such an ‘unprecedented’ time for their family, but changed their minds because they wanted to thank fans for their kind wishes to Prince Louis.

And in conversation with The Express royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams added that once they’d decided to release a photo there were likely a lot of discussions about the best approach, given the furore over Kate’s edited Mother’s Day photo.

Overall, Richard said the timing could ’emphasise Kate’s need for time, space and privacy.’

Describing the ‘vexed’ issue of her Mother’s Day portrait, he described the backlash as a  ‘highly embarrassing contretemps’.

He added that not rushing out a birthday photo of Louis could also ’emphasise her need for time, space and privacy which she expressed so movingly’ in the video message revealing she has cancer.

Earlier this year, the Princess of Wales detailed how the cancerous cells were discovered, while she was undergoing surgery for a different condition in January.

2021: Princess Charlotte is pictured on her third birthday

She explained that she had not spoken out about it earlier because she wanted to have time to ‘explain everything’ to George, Charlotte and Louis and assure them ‘I’m going to be ok’.

In March, royal fans went into meltdown after Associated Press issued a ‘kill notice’ on a photo of the Princess of Wales and her three children that had been released for Mother’s Day.

It was the first official photo that was published of Kate after she underwent abdominal surgery in January.

That evening, the Associated Press became the first agency to ‘kill’ the photo over an ‘inconsistency in the alignment of Princess Charlotte’s left hand’.

While AP said there was no suggestion the photo was fake, it retracted it because it said on closer inspection, the source had manipulated the image in a way that did not meet the agency’s photo standards.

The following day, the Princess of Wales admitted that she edited the Mother’s Day photo herself and apologised for ‘any confusion’ it had caused.

In 2018, Princess Charlotte's birthday photo included a snap with her new little brother Louis

The Prince and Princess of Wales have been spotted searching for a festive fir in Windsor Great Park alongside their two eldest children Prince George and Princess Charlotte (pictured together in December 2022)

A statement from the Princess of Wales said: ‘Like many amateur photographers, I do occasionally experiment with editing.

‘I wanted to express my apologies for any confusion the family photograph we shared yesterday caused. I hope everyone celebrating had a very happy Mother’s Day. C’

Two weeks later, the Princess of Wales announced she was battling cancer – amid mounting pressure for the Palace to comment on her condition.

It is believed that the Princess of Wales announced her cancer diagnosis on 22 March as this was the day George, Charlotte and Louis broke up from Lambrook School in Bracknell for their Easter break.

The announcement may have been timed so that her children would not immediately face questions in the playground after the news was made public.

The family are reported to have spent the Easter holidays together as they adjust to Kate’s diagnosis, which was discovered in post-operative tests following her major abdominal surgery.

In the emotional message, which was filmed in Windsor, Kate revealed the news had come as a ‘huge shock’ and that she and William ‘have been doing everything we can to process and manage this privately for the sake of our young family’.

Kate was last seen with her family attending church at Sandringham on December 25, 2023

Speaking from a bench surrounded by daffodils and spring blossom, she said: ‘It has taken us time to explain everything to George, Charlotte and Louis in a way that is appropriate for them, and to reassure them that I am going to be ok.

‘As I have said to them; I am well and getting stronger every day by focusing on the things that will help me heal; in my mind, body and spirits.

‘Having William by my side is a great source of comfort and reassurance too. As is the love, support and kindness that has been shown by so many of you. It means so much to us both.’

Kate revealed that she had been diagnosed with cancer after undergoing a planned operation at The London Clinic in January.

The insider also claimed to PEOPLE magazine Kate and William are also prioritising family time as ‘having fun together when they can is very important’

She explained: ‘In January, I underwent major abdominal surgery in London and at the time, it was thought that my condition was non-cancerous,’ she said.

‘The surgery was successful. However, tests after the operation found cancer had been present.

‘My medical team therefore advised that I should undergo a course of preventative chemotherapy and I am now in the early stages of that treatment.’

The announcement sent shockwaves around the world and came after weeks of speculation – and wild conspiracy theories – about her health. It also createc a fresh crisis for the Royal Family at a time where King Charles is also battling cancer. In January Sarah, the Duchess of York, was diagnosed with skin cancer, just six months after being treated for breast cancer.

However, this week will hopefully be a quiet relief for Kate who has previously discussed how much she loves her children’s birthdays.

The royal has previously said that she’s known for staying up late the night before her children’s birthdays to whip up a homemade cake for their special day.

Back in 2019 on the one-off special A Berry Royal Christmas, she told Mary Berry: ‘I love making the cake.

‘It’s become a bit of a tradition that I stay up until midnight with ridiculous amounts of cake mix and icing and I make far too much but I love it’.

The Waleses were intending to release a photograph for Louis’ birthday despite the frenzy over the manipulated family picture issued by Kensington Palace on Mother’s Day, sources close to the family said last month.

However, the snap of the beaming young prince has finally been released, with the account wishing him a very happy birthday.

The photo was taken by his mother, the Princess of Wales, who often photographs her children’s birthday portraits.

The caption reads: ‘Happy 6th Birthday, Prince Louis! Thank you for all the kind wishes today.’

As the beaming prince looks into the camera, he is lying on his front and looks all grown up with his brunette hair swept to the side, and a smart checked shirt.

He appears to be wearing dark trousers and is lying on a fleeced blanket.

The Waleses have released a new photo of Charlotte each year to mark her birthday.

Last year Charlotte was pictured snuggling up to the family’s black cocker spaniel Orla – as she recreated her seventh birthday portrait.

The birthday girl dressed in a £23 blue-and-white striped jumper from Boden,  white button-up blouse and pair of blue jeans.

Looking happy and relaxed in front of the camera, Charlotte appears to be lying in a meadow for her annual birthday portrait.

Although the couple didn’t reveal exactly where the photo was taken, it appears to be a very similar setting to previous family portraits – which were shot in the grounds of Amner Hall in Norfolk.

The image was taken by the photographer Millie Pilkington – whom Kate and William used for Prince Louis’ fifth birthday portrait too.

For her sixth birthday, Charlotte wore a Rachel Riley floral summer dress and her widest smile as Kate captures something of her impishness too. Similar traits are shared by the women on her mother’s side of the family.

Inside Meghan Markle’s relationship with Sophie Trudeau

Inside Meghan Markle’s relationship with Sophie Trudeau: Duchess gushed about pool parties with ‘dear friend’ who supported her during pregnancy – while Canada’s former First Lady says they’ve ‘not spent much time together’

Meghan Markle has previously described the former First Lady of Canada, Sophie Trudeau, as a ‘dear friend’.

However, according to Sophie, the friendship may have recently cooled, with the ex-wife of Canadian PM Justin Trudeau telling the Times: ‘I know her… but we haven’t spent much time together.’

This is in stark contrast to what the Duchess of Sussex, 42, has said in the past about the relationship, suggesting the two were very close, and describing Sophie as being ’emblematic of strength’.

According to Meghan, speaking during an episode of her Archetypes podcast in November 2022, Sophie ‘used to send me little meditations during my pregnancy’ and voice notes ‘of encouragement’, adding: ‘I’ve gone to her over the years for advice.’

And she also revealed that the two had spent a day together at the Montecito mansion she shares with Prince Harry.

According to Meghan Markle (pictured in Morocco in February 2019), Sophie Trudeau supported her when she was pregnant

Sophie (pictured, left) and Meghan (pictured, right) met in 2016 - the same year this image of the pair was taken

Meghan described the day as being one full of laughter and fun, with their children playing in the swimming pool on pizza-shaped floats while they drank wine ‘on the terrace’ and were ‘giddy like absolute schoolgirls.’

According to the biography Finding Freedom, Meghan and Sophie became friendly in 2016, after the former Suits actor met Justin in 2015, at the One Young World summit in Ottawa that year.

That year, Sophie and Meghan were pictured posing cheek-to-cheek in a photobooth at the Canadian Arts & Fashion Awards (CAFA) at exclusive Soho House in London.

According to Finding Freedom authors Omid Scobie and Carolyn Durand: ‘Sophie had given up a career in television, where she had been working as a correspondent on CTV’s eTalk, to take on a more formal role alongside her husband as he hit the campaign trail.

‘The pair became fast email friends, Meghan was interested to hear how Sophie had successfully made the move from an entertainment news correspondent to much-beloved First Lady, all while skillfully dodging controversy.’

In November 2022, Meghan invited Ms Trudeau on to her Spotify podcast Archetypes, to speak on an episode titled Good Wife/Bad Wife, Good Mom/Bad Mom.

During the episode, the pair spoke about the challenges of parenting and being a partner to two famous men, and Meghan revealed she threw a pool party that summer for Sophie, in which the two ‘giggled like schoolgirls’ and drank wine on the terrace of her Montecito mansion.

Meghan introduced Sophie as a ‘humanitarian mother’ she met in Toronto, where she was living while filming Suits, at the city’s fashion week seven years ago.

Sophie pictured attending the funeral of Queen Elizabeth II with her former husband, Canadian PM Justin Trudeau

She said: ‘Sophie has become a dear friend and someone who I think is so emblematic of strength that comes from embracing your humanity, even in the face of all these family and home and public pressures, keeping that sense of self while holding up the mantle of what comes with being a parent and a spouse, that’s a full plate.

Meghan went on to describe a day that she spent at her Montecito mansion with Ms Trudeau. She said: ‘This wasn’t our day of being the wives and moms, all perfectly quaffed with up-dos and pearls and demure smiles.

‘This was the other version of us both with wild curly hair and swimsuits and loose linen and huge belly laughs. Big cuddles with our little ones, quiet whispers of girl talk on the terrace, giddy like absolute schoolgirls. We were just having so much fun.’

Speaking during her recent interview with the Times, after discussing Meghan,
Sophie then turned the conversation over to Meghan’s sister-in-law Kate Middleton, revealing that her ‘heart just sunk’ when she heard about the Princess’s cancer diagnosis last month.

It is unclear why Sophie played down her friendship with Meghan, though it has been speculated that it could be linked to the breakdown of Meghan’s friendship with former best friend Jessica Mulroney – who has also previously acted as a stylist for Ms Trudeau.

Despite their formerly close relationship – which included holidays together, as well as Jessica reportedly playing an ‘influential’ role in Megxit, Meghan distanced herself from the mother-of-three after she became embroiled in a race row in the wake of the Black Lives Matter movement in 2020.

Sophie appeared on an episode of Meghan's podcast Archetypes in November 2022. The episode was titled Good Wife/Bad Wife, Good Mom/Bad Mom

According to Meghan, the pair enjoyed a pool party together at the Montecito home she shares with Prince Harry

At the time, ABC severed ties with stylist Mulroney, confirming that she would not be returning to her occasional role as a fashion contributor on Good Morning America.

And Canadian TV network CTV also cut off ties with the stylist, revealing that it would be pulling all episodes of her wedding-themed reality TV show I Do Redo from its platform.

Despite Jessica not commenting on the friendship, it’s clear it has cooled – the two have not been seen together publicly and Jessica did not feature in the couple’s Netflix series, in which other friends of Harry and Meghan were interviewed.

Some changes in Meghan’s friendship circle have been revealed by the launch of her lifestyle brand.

She is believed to have sent out some 50 jars of strawberry jam – the first product of her American Rivera Orchard (ARO) brand.

Among the recipient are polo wives, socialites and Britney Spears’ former stylist.

Some of those sent the pr sample took to social media to share pictures. Among them were Netflix star Mindy Kaling, her Suits co-star Abigail Spencer and parenting campaigner Kelly McKee Zajfen.

Meghan Markle (pictured in New York City in May 2023) has previously suggested her relationship with Sophie Trudeau was very close

Some have speculated that the breakdown of Jessica Mulroney and Meghan's friendship could have affected her relationship with Sophie

Meghan met Canadian prime minister Justin Trudeau at the One Young World summit in Ottawa in 2016. Pictured together in a throwback snap from the event shared to the Sussex Royal Instagram page in October 2019

Yet despite the beaming pictures and words of praise from some, others have been notably missing from the clamour surrounding Meghan’s new business.

The noticeable absences of some of her former closest pals suggest they may have been ‘Markled’ – the word is cruelly used by critics to describe how she is seemingly able to swiftly move on from some of those once closest to her.

Culture and PR gurus have told MailOnline that Meghan’s friendship group has evolved to support her new venture, focusing on those who also live in the Californian enclave of Montecito or are women in business.

Culture expert Nick Ede told MailOnline: ‘As with all friendships and circles they always change.

‘We can see from whose in and whose out that the old guard of celebrity friends from Meghan’s pre Megxit days seem to have been excluded from this PR campaign and there is a new squad who live in and around the Montecito area and support women in business.

‘It makes sense for her and the brand to have a local squad supporting her as this is all about home made produce and a sense of community.

‘With the success of Suits on Netflix and now with the BBC buying it I think she’s missing a trick by not engaging all her old co stars and wedding guests to help support the brand as it launches as this would boost the brand and create demand.’

Meanwhile public relations expert Mark Borkowski said Meghan’s updated circle of friends proves she still has ‘profound influence’ but added she has started to ‘curate’ friends that fit her new ‘narrative’.

The PR wiz said: ‘Meghan’s circle proves she has a profound influence and will continue. The lineup of names surrounding her in this endeavor certainly speaks volumes about her evolving inner circle.

‘Mindy Kaling and Tracee Ellis Ross, it’s evident she’s curating a circle of influencers and creatives, signaling a shift towards a more culturally resonant sphere.

‘As for those left out in the cold, it’s a curious mix of former confidants and acquaintances who perhaps didn’t quite fit the new narrative. It’s a strategic move, undoubtedly showcasing Meghan’s knack for reinvention and remaining in the news cycle.’

King Charles marks return to public duties wearing his famed pink T-Rex tie – believed to be a gift from Prince Louis

King Charles today marked his return to public duties wearing his famed pink and blue T-rex tie.

His Majesty, 75, donned the playful tie during his first official engagement since being diagnosed with cancer in February, with his wife Queen Camilla, 76, by his side.

The monarch – who is undergoing treatment – visited the University College Hospital Macmillan Cancer Centre with the Queen, as they met patients and staff in his new role as the charity’s patron.

The bold dinosaur tie is made of a pale pink material and features printed images of small blue T-rex creatures across it.

The King was first spotted in the tie in back January 2023, when he visited Norbrook Community Centre and Bolton Town Hall to mark 100 years of Kelloggs, both in Greater Manchester.

The tie is thought to be a gift from one of Charles's grandchildren

He again sported the look to attend a church service near the Sandringham estate in January of this year.

The daring accessory is thought to have been a Christmas gift from one of his grandchildren, with dinosaur-mad Prince Louis, being the likeliest suspect.

The tie is also perhaps a nod to an inside joke shared with his beloved family, as Charles uses the initial R after his name to signify ‘Rex’ – which is Latin for ‘King’.

The tie’s adventurous design may additionally signify the Royal’s readiness to return to public duty, as well as his courageousness amid the adversity he’s faced in recent months.

The King is said to have been keen about the inaugural engagement since doctors gave him the all-clear to restart public events – as it will raise awareness of the importance of early diagnosis.

He also hopes the trip can highlight some off the innovative research, supported by Cancer Research UK, which is taking place at the hospital.

And today it can be announced that His Majesty has agreed to become the new patron of Cancer Research UK, bringing his own ongoing experience to the position.

The hospital was not chosen because it has a link with the King’s treatment or form of cancer, neither of which have yet been publicly disclosed by Buckingham Palace.

The King was first spotted in the tie back in January 2023, when he visited Norbrook Community Centre and Bolton Town Hall to mark 100 years of Kelloggs, both in Greater Manchester

King Charles attended the Epiphany service at the church of St Lawrence, Castle Rising near the Sandringham Estate on January 8 sporting the dinosaur tie

The centre provides facilities for the diagnosis and treatment of a wide range of cancer and non-cancer conditions, whilst also supporting patients and their families.

Ahead of the King and Queen’s arrival, a small group of die-hard fans gathered after news of the visit leaked out.

John Loughrey, 69, a well-known royal superfan from Streatham, South London, bought roses to give to the King.

‘I am going to tell him I have been praying for him and what a brilliant job Queen Camilla has been doing for him,’ he said.

Mr Lougrey said he had lost his own partner, Marion, to skin cancer 21 years ago just two months after she was diagnosed. He added: ‘I know exactly what the King and Queen are going through. I’ve experienced it with the loss of my partner 21 years ago, too.

‘The King hasn’t kept his diagnosis to himself but has shared it with the nation to encourage people to get diagnosed. I’m going for a check-up myself next week, so he has encouraged me to do that too. I want His Majesty to know how much he is appreciated and that the Queen is his foundation.

King Charles arrived at University College Hospital Macmillan Cancer Centre in London today, and he appeared to be in high spirits

‘I am also praying for the Princess of Wales and everything she is going through too.’

A royal aide said the visit had been arranged in the hope it would encourage others to be open about their cancer diagnosis and raise awareness of the benefits of early diagnosis.

They added: ‘He also wants to show it is possible to work with cancer, although he appreciates that everyone has their own journey and it is not for everyone. ‘

The King and Queen were met by University College London Hospitals (UCLH) chair Baroness Julia Neuberger and chief executive David Probert.

Inside the centre, the King and Queen were due to meet clinicians and hear more about the use of innovative technology at UCLH; including CT scanners which are being used to help with the early detection of cancer.

As the new patron of Cancer Research UK, His Majesty was expected to meet the charity’s chief clinician, Professor Charlie Swanton, who has led on a project called TRACERx – a collaboration with 250 researchers and clinicians based at 19 centres across the UK.

Charles and Camilla are pictured in front of the University College Hospital Macmillan Cancer Centre in London today

The project is the single biggest investment in lung cancer research by Cancer Research UK and aims to investigate how lung cancer evolves over time and why treatments sometimes stop working.

After meeting patients and their families who receive treatment at the centre, the King and Queen were due to have an opportunity to meet hospital staff and supporters of the UCLH Charity, Macmillan Cancer Support and Cancer Research UK.

Before departing, Charles and Camilla were expected to be presented with posies by young patients.

In 1997, as Prince of Wales, the King become patron of Macmillan Cancer Support, which provides a range of support to people living with cancer and promotes better cancer care.

In addition to the King’s new Patronage of Cancer Research UK, The Duke of Gloucester and Princess Alexandra are also joint presidents of Cancer Research UK.

Since 2008, Camilla has been president of Maggie’s which provides free expert care and support in centres across the UK and online to everyone with cancer as well as their friends and families.

Since becoming president, Camilla has visited 17 centres across the UK, including opening the Maggie’s Royal Free in London earlier this year in January.

King Charles and the Queen were pictured smiling as they tended to the engagement

The King was first admitted to hospital in January for surgery on an enlarged prostate. He remained in The London Clinic for three days.

There was no suggestion at the time that his condition was cancerous but tests subsequently diagnosed unconnected evidence of the disease and his condition was announced to the nation of February 5.

He immediately began an unspecified form of treatment which is still ongoing.

Aside from attending an Easter Sunday church service at St George’s Chapel in Windsor four weeks ago on March 31, the King has until now stayed away from public events.

But Buckingham Palace gave a positive update last Friday that doctors were sufficiently encouraged by his progress to allow him to undertake more public duties.

A Palace spokesperson said: ‘His Majesty is greatly encouraged to be resuming some public-facing duties and very grateful to his medical team for their continued care and expertise.’

Sources have stressed that despite the welcome news the King still has cancer and will continue to be treated for the undisclosed form of the disease.

The Palace spokesperson added: ‘His Majesty’s medical team are very encouraged by the progress made so far and remain positive about the King’s continued recovery.’

Royal aides also said it was too early to say how long Charles’s treatment would continue.

As Charles departed from the hospital he was spotted holding a stunning bouquet of flowers

It appeared the bouquet was given to him by a young Royal fan who was waiting for him outdoors

His Majesty has worked throughout his diagnosis and treatment, undertaking state business, meeting dignitaries and small groups in private.

Ongoing engagements will be carefully calibrated to take account of his illness – but, as revealed by the Daily Mail in March, the King is now expected to attend key events such as Trooping the Colour, the Order of the Garter and next week’s first Buckingham Palace garden party of the season.

Charles’s diary of events will not be a full summer programme, and attendance will be announced nearer the time and ‘subject to doctors’ advice’, with ‘adaptations made where necessary to minimise risk’ to the King’s recovery.

The Macmillan Cancer Support account on X tweeted: ‘As His Majesty The King returns to public-facing duties, we know many people with cancer will understand that choosing to return to work can be a complex decision and can mean very different things to different people.

‘It’s important to understand some people may still be going through treatment and are still dealing with its side effects. They may require adjustments at work.

The King was seen in high spirits when he first sported the tie last year in Greater Manchester

‘They may also continue to feel the impact of their diagnosis on themselves, their families, and friends, or they could be relieved things are starting to get ‘back to normal’. Restarting work can help get back into a routine and reconnect with colleagues and friends.’

The charity said it was ‘here to help everyone affected by cancer, including family, friends, carers and employers’.

Charles has returned to public life as the weather is improving, meaning many events can be held outside, minimising the risk he will pick up illnesses from other people in confined spaces.

According to Macmillan Cancer Support, patients can cut their risk of infection by avoiding contact with people suffering from illnesses such as sore throats, colds, flu, diarrhoea or vomiting.

Patients may also wish to avoid swimming where other people could have spread germs, and may want to stay away from crowded places during busy times.

The types of cancers which people have can also wreak havoc with their immune system.

Cancers such as lymphoma and leukaemia can prevent the body making enough white blood cells to fight infection.

Chemotherapy treatment also reduces the number of white blood cells produced by the bone marrow and can lower immunity.

This is one of the most common reasons for reduced immunity in cancer patients.

According to Macmillan, people are particularly at risk of getting an infection seven to 14 days after having chemotherapy.

After this time, their number of white blood cells will increase slowly.

Surgery can also increase the risk of infection while another cancer treatment, radiotherapy, often only has a temporary effect on the immune system.

Cancer patients may be told they can improve their chances of not picking up an infection by washing their hands regularly, including after gardening, not sharing towels and washing hands after dealing with animals.

Meghan WON’T join Prince Harry in Britain for Invictus Games anniversary service, Sussex spokesman confirms

The Duchess of Sussex will not join Prince Harry when he arrives in the UK next week.

But she will fly from the US to Nigeria to meet her husband for an official visit immediately afterwards, it emerged yesterday.

A spokesman for the couple confirmed that Meghan would not accompany her husband to a service at St Paul’s Cathedral to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Invictus Games for injured service personnel on May 8.

But they said she would be at his side for an ‘Invictus-inspired’ visit to Africa immediately after the duke leaves the UK.

Harry last returned to Britain in February for a brief 30-minute meeting with his father after it was announced that he was being treated for cancer.

He said in an interview afterwards that he would ‘stop in and see my family as much as I can’, but the brevity of the reunion with his father was noted by many.

Meghan Markle will not join Prince Harry when he arrives in the UK next week

Meghan will fly from the US to Nigeria to meet her husband Prince Harry for an official visit immediately afterwards, it emerged yesterday

Meghan has only briefly set foot in the UK three times since she and Harry acrimoniously quit royal duties for a new life in California. Sources close to the duchess have been previously reported as saying she is ‘done’ with Britain and ‘doesn’t want the drama’. So it will be seen as significant by many that while there are no plans for Meghan to accompany her husband to London for such a key event, there has been official confirmation of her intention to travel to Nigeria.

Buckingham Palace have declined to comment about Harry’s visit and whether he might meet again with his father.

The Mail understands the King’s diary is ‘quite busy’ that day – he will undertake his weekly meeting with the Prime Minister and hopes to attend the first Buckingham Palace garden party of the summer, which will be his biggest public engagement since being diagnosed with cancer.

It will be Harry’s first visit to Britain since he lost a High Court appeal about his security arrangements after his round-the-clock police protection was removed when he quit as a working royal.

No senior members of the Royal Family are expected to join Prince Harry for the Invictus Games event in the UK.

Harry will give a reading at St Paul’s Cathedral, London, on May 8 to mark the games’ tenth anniversary, but no mention has been made of the attendance of any senior royal.

It is thought Harry will stay in a hotel during his stay in the UK – as he done on his previous recent visits – before days later jetting off to Nigeria to join Meghan.

The couple have been invited to Nigeria by the country’s chief of defence staff – who met Harry in Germany last September at the Invictus Games Dusseldorf – to take part in ‘cultural activities’ for an unofficial royal visit.

They will meet service members and their families and participate in ‘traditional cultural activities’, according to Nigerian media.

The Sussexes quit the UK and moved to America when they stepped down as working royals in January 2020.

Harry and Meghan’s acceptance of the invitation – their first visit to Nigeria as a couple – is said to have left the country’s defence headquarters feeling ‘honoured’ and ‘delighted’, according to local newspaper reports.

Meghan revealed in 2022 she found out she is 43 per cent Nigerian after doing a genealogy test ‘a couple years ago’.

Speaking on her podcast Archetypes to Nigerian-American comedian Ziwe Fumudoh she said: ‘I’m going to start to dig deeper into all this because anybody that I’ve told, especially Nigerian women, are like ”What!”’

The visit will come days after Harry flies to Britain for the Invictus Games 10th anniversary.

Royal commentator Richard Fitzwilliams said with Nigeria hoping to host a future Invictus Games and Meghan’s ancestry links to the country it makes sense for the couple to make the trip.

But he doesn’t believe it’s a move by the Sussexes to return to public duty with Harry having ‘no desire’ to do so.

‘It’s [the visit to Nigeria] a very good face saver with Meghan not coming to Britain and shows a bit of PR nous,’ he said.

Piers Morgan slams ‘ungrateful’ Harry Potter stars for abandoning JK Rowling after she made them ‘rich and famous’

PIERS Morgan has branded the stars of Harry Potter “ungrateful” for abandoning JK Rowling in their droves over her views on transgender rights.

The TV journalist, 56, slammed the cast after Chris Rankin, who played Percy Weasley, became the latest star to speak out against the author – pointing out how she had made them all “rich and famous”.

Chris Rankin (centre) is the latest star to speak out about JK Rowling
He raged: “Weasley by name, and nature. These Potter stars are such a bunch of ungrateful little twerps … more interested in pathetic virtue-signalling than supporting the right of the woman who made them all rich & famous to have an opinion most people agree with.”

Since the films were released, the author of the books they are based on, JK Rowling, has become a controversial figure over her comments on gender identity.

She has attracted criticism for her views from the stars of the film including Emma Watson, Daniel Radcliffe and Rupert Grint.

Rowling, 56, has said she was partly motivated to speak out about transgender issues because of her experience of domestic abuse and sexual assault.

In a new interview Chris addressed her comments, telling the Eastern Daily Press: “I do a lot of work with charities that are LGBTQ+-focused and I raise money for the Albert Kennedy Trust on a regular basis.

“A lot of my family are members of the community. It is a huge part of my life and I think, by saying that, you can probably guess where my allegiances lie in that respect.

“What is important to highlight is that, when a trans person says they are male or female, that is what they are and that is how we should treat them.

“It is damaging to them to say otherwise.”
