Introducing Prince Harry of Nigeria: Social media users claim Harry looks like African royalty after he is pictured awkwardly accepting a picture of Princess Diana in traditional Agbada formal wear

Social media users have joked that Prince Harry looks like African royalty after he was snapped accepting a picture of Princess Diana.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex took Nigeria by storm today, posing for selfies, playing with children and being mobbed by fans as they kicked off their three-day tour in a royal fashion.
The pair of them received a military welcome in the afternoon as onlookers flooded to try and catch a glimpse of the glowing couple – after a morning visit where Meghan told schoolgirls: ‘I see myself in all of you.’
After visiting children at a school and meeting officials at Nigeria’s Defence Headquarters, the pair headed to Kaduna State where they were welcomed by Governor Uba Sani and other government officials.
Governor Sani presented Harry with the framed portrait of Diana holding him as a child along with another portrait of him and Meghan on their wedding day and other gifts before decorating him with traditional Hausa attire.

Responding to the picture of Harry on social media, one person joked: ‘They’ve adopted Henry lol,’ while another said: ‘Prince Harry is now a Nigerian prince.’
Yet, many pointed out how the picture was just a traditional ceremony with Harry dressed in Nigerian attire called Agbada.
One person wrote: ‘Agbada, it’s an honor for them to actually offer and dress a person in it! Very few are so accepted.’
Another added: ‘It’s called an Agbada, very elegant I love it!’, while a third commented: ‘Prince Harry in agbada [laughing face emoji]’.
Prince Harry’s tour of Nigeria with his wife Meghan Markle comes 34 years after Princess Diana visited the country with Prince Charles.
Back then, the Princess of Wales displayed the kindness which she became famous for when she held the hand of a leprosy patient as her husband initially stood by awkwardly.
Today, after his and Meghan’s arrival in Abuja, Harry evoked memories of his suffering following his mother’s death when he spoke to a group of school children.
The Duke of Sussex, who was 12 when Diana was killed in a car crash in Paris in 1997, told the pupils there is ‘no shame to be able to acknowledge that today is a bad day.’
His and Meghan’s visit will be seen by the Duke as another effort to continue his mother’s ‘unfinished’ work.
He said in 2022 that he felt ‘obligated’ to live out her legacy ‘as much as possible’.

Earlier today there was another comical moment on their Nigerian tour when Meghan took a picture with pupils at Wuse Lightway Academy and Harry put his arms up and pulled a cheeky grin behind her.
The couple spoke about mental health at the school supported by their Archewell Foundation, with Meghan encouraging them to ‘just be honest with each other’.
Harry also said: ‘If you see your friend in your class not smiling, what are you going to do? Are you going to check in on them? Are you going to ask them if they’re OK? Because it’s OK not to be OK.’ Handing the mic to Meghan, she added: ‘Do you see why I married him? He’s so smart. And so inspiring because he speaks the truth.’
They visited the school about five hours after their arrival in Abuja – before heading onto the Nigerian Defence Headquarters for their next engagement from noon.
Meghan – who was wearing a long Heidi Merrick ‘Windsor’ dress worth an estimated £450 – told the pupils: ‘As I look around this room, I see myself in all of you as well. So it is a complete honour to have our first visit to Nigeria, be here with all of you.
‘We believe in all of you, we believe in your futures, we believe in your ability to continue telling your stories and to just be honest with each other. There is no need to suffer in silence. Just make sure that you’re taking care of yourselves.’
Meghan also praised James Holt, the executive director of the Archewell Foundation who has joined them on the trip, for his work – adding that his ‘birthday is today’.
The Duke asked one child their age, and when they said they were five, he replied: ‘You’re five? Our son Archie is five.’ Meghan added: ‘That’s right, he turned five.’ She also said that Lilibet loved dancing, adding: ‘Maybe it’s all the jumping around.’
The Sussexes were greeted by a dancing troupe and a crowd of excited students and teachers. Student Nnenna Okorie said of Meghan: ‘She is the prettiest human being ever. I admire her so much and then Harry. I love how he is so supportive.’

The couple arrived together in Abuja just before 5am following a secret reunion at Heathrow’s VIP Windsor Suite yesterday after the Duchess arrived from Los Angeles.
They boarded the British Airways overnight flight to Abuja, which was slightly delayed after the scheduled pilot went sick and a replacement had to be scrambled.
The Sussexes, visiting Nigeria together for the first time, were seated in the first class section of the Boeing 777 and were kept apart from other passengers by a curtain.
Meghan revealed on her Spotify podcast Archetypes in 2022 that she found out she has Nigerian ancestry, describing herself as ’43 per cent Nigerian’.
Harry had been in London since Tuesday, attending various events relating to the Invictus Games, before he made the trip to Nigeria.
Yesterday, he chatted and played games with bereaved military children as he made a surprise visit to a charity event.
The 39-year-old spent the afternoon with 50 children and young people, aged between six and 22, who have experienced the death of a military parent.
He took part in games – including one which saw the duke use a straw to transport Smarties as quickly as possible – and spoke to the youngsters as part of the fun-filled event hosted in London by Scotty’s Little Soldiers.

Meghan Markle is sharing her love for Nigeria.

During the first day of her and Prince Harry’s inaugural visit to Nigeria, the Duchess of Sussex wrote a sweet note about the African country after previously revealing her heritage.

“With gratitude for the support of the Invictus community. And for welcoming me home,” Meghan, 42, wrote while signing a visitor’s book at the Defence Headquarters in the heart of Abuja on Friday, May 10.

Harry, 39, couldn’t help but remark at his wife’s calligraphy, noting, “She has beautiful handwriting.” (Meghan previously worked as a calligrapher!)

The prince also shared his own message in the book and wrote, “Thank you for welcoming us to your beautiful country, together we will heal our troops.”

The couple were formally welcomed to Nigeria at the headquarters by Chief of Defense Staff Christopher Musa — the highest-ranking military official — who invited them to visit Nigeria.

Making an outfit change from their first outing, Meghan arrived wearing a white pantsuit from Altuzarra, while Harry dressed in a teal green suit – the colors of the Nigerian flag.

During their meeting, Harry stressed to their hosts that the reason for their visit was the links forged through the Invictus Games and the rehabilitation through sport for the injured and wounded.

Going on to praise Nigeria for adopting sport as part of rehabilitation, Harry continued, “You’re not the first country to notice that it not only transforms lives but saves lives. I’m eternally grateful to all of you for joining the Invictus movement for Nigeria and for every single soul who’s been injured protecting the freedoms of Nigeria.”

He also noted that Nigeria was a welcome addition to the Invictus community. “The team that turned up in Düsseldorf was small but mighty,” Harry said. “They danced their way onto the stage. They won medals and danced off the stage. They were the life and soul of those games. Our goal now is to help you grow that team and provide as much opportunity and resource here in Nigeria and for the games that are coming at the beginning of next year.”

“And I know there’s been an expression of interest for Nigeria to perhaps host the games in 2029,” he added.

Meghan and Harry left the headquarters hand-in-hand and were greeted outside by the wives of several armed forces members.

Adenike Keennam, whose husband is in the airforce, told PEOPLE exclusively on Friday, “I told her [Meghan] ‘welcome home.’ She gave me a big smile.”

“I think it’s significant they’re here in many ways,” added Keennam. “With people like them who you see on TV or in the papers, to see them in person goes a long way. They are people of peace.”

Meghan revealed her Nigerian heritage during an episode of her Archetypes in October 2022. Speaking to American-Nigerian actress Ziwe, Meghan explained that she had discovered she was “43% Nigerian” after having her genealogy done “a couple of years ago.”

Ziwe, 32, commented that the news was  “huge for our community,” while Meghan added that she was going to “dig deeper into all of this.”

In a speech at a school in Abuja earlier in the day, Meghan told the students of Lightway Academy “as I look around this room, I see myself in all of you as well.”

“You know, every single one of you has a story. We all have our story,” she said in part. “And there’s no shame in any single one of your stories. Even on the hardest days or darkest days, everything is a pillar of your strength by each of you being there.”

Following their school visit and meeting at the Defence Headquarters, Meghan and Harry are due to visit a military hospital in Kaduna to meet injured armed forces members.

Prince William shares update on Kate’s cancer diagnois

The Princess of Wales is ‘doing well’ after her cancer diagnosis, Prince William has revealed.

The royal discussed his wife’s health during a visit to St Mary’s Community Hospital on the Isles of Scilly.
William is continuing with his royal duties while Kate receives treatment for abdominal cancer, following her ‘shock’ announcement in March that she had been diagnosed and was receiving chemotherapy.
The Prince couldn’t resist snapping up the region’s most famous savoury treat as his tour continues today – and suggested he is taking some of the edible souvenirs home for his family.
William, 41, who is known locally as the Duke of Cornwall, arrived at St Mary’s Harbour having travelled from Tresco, one of the smaller islands this morning.
Meanwhile, in Nigeria, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle began the first day of their three-day visit to the African nation.

William said George, Charlotte and Louis are ‘very jealous’ of his trip away, adding that he might bring them to Cornwall later in the year, according to The Sun.
Sharing that he’d already enjoyed a morning swim, the Prince was seen disembarking a boat called The Pegasus, which bore the Duke of Cornwall flag, as he arrived at St Mary’s maritime harbour.
A small cheer went up from a throng of onlookers on the harbour as he stepped quayside for the final day of his visit to the South West region.
Wearing a pair of stylish sunglasses to protect his eyes from the Cornish sun, the Prince donned a brown blazer with matching brogues and his favourite navy chino trousers as he made his way along the water’s edge.
He hailed the ‘glorious’ weather before strolling to the On the Quay cafe, where he bought five traditional Cornish pasties for £5.50 each.
He was served by Joely Dearman, 22, and Zachariah Fox, 28, both seasonal workers from North Devon on the mainland.

‘What’s selling quickest this morning?’ he asked them.
Told it was the pasties, the Prince was clearly hooked on the idea of buying some, saying: ‘They smell delicious. Makes your mouth water.’
He went on to tell them: ‘I was saying to the others, I can’t believe the islands today when you’ve got weather like this, it’s just beautiful. I got in the sea yesterday which was good – I wore a wetsuit.’
Outside, he also told tourists who had lined up to greet him that he wished he could stay for a little longer but he would return home that afternoon to spend the weekend in Windsor.
‘My family are very upset I’m here without them,’ he laughed. ‘The children will kill me if I don’t go home later.’

The Prince also met representatives from local businesses on the harbour front on St Mary’s, the largest of the Scilly islands.
The harbour is run by the Duchy of Cornwall and is considered the maritime gateway to the islands – a crucial part of the community, which relies on the tourism industry.
It handles passengers and vessels travelling to the Isles of Scilly from ‘Tripper Boats’ and sail training vessels to fishing boats and those carrying special cargo deliveries.

The Prince later visited St. Mary’s Community Hospital to meet staff and hear about a new integrated health and social care facility which is set to be built on adjacent land owned by the Duchy of Cornwall.
The Prince was driven the short distance from the harbour to St. Mary’s Community Hospital, where he met staff and was updated on plans which will see a new health and social care facility built on Duchy of Cornwall land.
He told several members of staff that he was keen to learn more about what was needed on the islands and how the Duchy could help. ‘Keep flagging anything else that we can do,’ he told them.
‘I’m hoping to do more down here where you guys want it.’
He later told another group: ‘We have got to work to do better. I don’t have all the answers but I’m just trying to learn my way around and work out what needs doing.’
On arrival, the Prince was met by Tracy Smith, who is in charge of hospital administration. She said later: ‘I asked how Princess Kate was and how the children were and said I hoped they would enjoy some time here over the summer.
‘He said he would very much like that to be able to happen.’
The Prince and Princess of Wales occasionally bring their three children over to Tresco in the holidays, following a tradition William enjoyed during his own childhood.
‘The children are very jealous that I’m here,’ he told Ms Smith. ‘Are we going to have a look around?’
Inside, the Prince was shown the x-ray facilities and the kitchen, where, he was told, homemade meals were prepared for the patients.
As he was shown into one patient’s room, he exclaimed: ‘That’s a pretty cool view!’
The two then pulled up chairs in the window and had a private chat.
The Prince later met various groups of staff, from GPs and nurses to trainees and office workers.

Among them was Lynda McHale, 68, who he was told had worked for the NHS for 50 years.
‘I’m very lucky, I love my job, I’ve seen many things,’ she told him.
Mrs McHale gave the Prince a letter from her granddaughter, who is an ‘avid fan’ of both William and Prince George.
‘She wanted to wish his father and wife good health,’ she said after the visit. ‘He said he would read it later.’
The Prince asked the staff about their shift patterns and whether they lived on the island or the mainland.
He was told there were three GPs based at the centre but that it could be ‘quite challenging’ serving the smaller islands, where they hold weekly or fortnightly clinics, particularly if the weather was bad or the tide was low.
‘It’s amazing how many roles everyone has to double hand or triple hand,’ he said. ‘You are all very good jack of all trades.
‘For staff, it’s so important to keep them motivated, keep up morale, and it’s really important we have got the ability to look after them.’

He told the staff that he hoped the extension would make a real difference to the lives of the local residents, recalling a story about how a baby had been born mid-air en route to the mainland. ‘No one would have wanted that to happen,’ he laughed.
Part of the building will be a new maternity unit, allowing local mothers-to-be to be cared for on the island.
‘People say it’s very difficult to have a child on the islands,’ he said. ‘The costs are huge. Hopefully we will be able to do it here.’
He returned to the subject again a few minutes later, describing the costs as ‘astronomical.’
The Prince congratulated one member of staff who is due to give birth on June 15. ‘Ooh nice, a summer baby,’ he said. ‘I’m June 21, it might slip in first.’
William was then shown the plans for the hospital extension before being given a spade to dig the first patch of earth for the foundations.
‘Does it matter where I start?’ he asked, before exclaiming: ‘Have you seen how dry that is?
‘I might get an inch out of there if we’re lucky!’ However, he persevered, digging a small amount of dry mud up before being given a loud round of applause. The Prince told staff that he would be back next year, when the extension should be all but complete.
The £20m project is being funded by the NHS.
Meanwhile, on another continent, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle began their 72-hour tour of Nigeria today, as the Duke evoked memories of his suffering after his mother Princess Diana’s death.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex met officials and children at the Wuse Lightway Academy this morning, hours after their arrival in Abuja in the early hours.
Harry spoke to a group of pupils at the school, which is supported by the couple’s Archewell Foundation, about mental health and referenced when someone has ‘lost a loved one in your family and you don’t know who to turn to or who to speak to’.
The Duke – who was 12 and his brother William 15 when Diana died in Paris in 1997 – added that there was ‘no shame to be able to acknowledge that today is a bad day’,
He also told the children: ‘You can have it, she (Meghan) can have it, I can have it. They can have it. Every single one of us is likely to have it on any given day.’
The couple flew in together just before 5am following a secret reunion at London Heathrow’s VIP Windsor Suite yesterday after the Duchess arrived from Los Angeles.

‘Snubbed’ Prince Harry settles for dinner with city financier Guy Monson after his father told him he was too busy to see him during UK visit: Experts say move shows depth of divide between King and his son

Prince Harry will meet a millionaire financier after admitting King Charles was too busy to meet him in what experts said was a ‘snub’ that reflected the depth of their rift.

The Duke of Sussex arrived in the UK alone today after flying in from California for a ceremony marking the 10th anniversary of the Invictus Games in London tomorrow. Ahead of the service, Harry visited Armoury House this afternoon for an Invictus Games discussion called ‘Realising a Global Community’ hosted by Louise Minchin.

The Prince had hoped to meet his estranged father the King during his trip, which follows a previous quick visit in February after Charles’s cancer diagnosis. Harry’s event was just three miles away from where Charles was, at Clarence House.

But Harry’s spokesman said today: ‘In response to the many inquiries and continued speculation on whether or not The Duke will meet with his father while in the UK this week, it unfortunately will not be possible due to His Majesty’s full programme.

‘The Duke of course is understanding of his father’s diary of commitments and various other priorities and hopes to see him soon.’

Instead, as the Duke’s foundation Archewell confirmed, he will meet city financier Guy Monson.

Reacting to the news, royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams said: ‘This, whatever the logistics, will be widely perceived as a snub.

Royal expert Michael Cole agreed. He said: ‘It is quite a snub. For the King to not see his younger son, Prince Harry, although the two men will be only two miles apart tomorrow afternoon, gives an indication of the depth of the divide.

‘The Prodigal Son is not welcome – not for the present, anyway. In royal terms, this is big medicine. Prince Harry is bound to see it for what it is, the clearest possible indication of the hurt that has been caused.

‘There can be no mistake: this is a royal flea in the ear for the fifth in line to the throne. Actions have consequences but rarely are they played out as starkly as they are here.

‘Even Prince Harry, never the sharpest sword in the Household Cavalry, is bound to have got the message and many people will say, ”About time too”.’

Fellow royal expert Richard Palmer said: ‘It’s surprising if the King and Harry are not meeting at all and perhaps a sign of how much bridge-building still needs to be done. There’s been much media speculation that father and son would meet. While that always looked like guessing, I’d have guessed they would meet too.’

Harry is understood to have had various Invictus Games commitments today, according to ITV.

Monson, chief investment officer of Sarasin and Partners, a London-based £18billion investment fund, was alongside the warring brothers when they unveiled a statue of their mother Princess Diana in 2021 at Kensington Palace. It was Harry and William’s last solo engagement together.

He was the former treasurer to the Cambridges and the Sussexes’ joint foundation before Harry and Meghan quit as senior working royals and emigrated.

Monson is a trustee of the Invictus Games Foundation, founded by Harry, and was on the organising committee for its inaugural games. The Duke revealed he was having dinner with him while sharing an anecdote about the event in 2014.

The city financier is married to Lady Rose Monson and they have two daughters, Olivia and Leonora.

Educated at the University of Oxford – where he studied a Master’s degree in PPE – Mr Monson is chief investment officer of £18billion investment fund Sarasin and Partners.

He has also served as director of the Chatsworth House Trust, which looks after the iconic stately home in Derbyshire.

Tomorrow, the Duke is set to give a reading at a service of thanksgiving at St Paul’s Cathedral marking a decade since the inaugural competition in London in 2014.

Organisers had said there was no confirmation of any other royals attending, or if Harry’s wife Meghan Markle or children Archie and Lilibet would also be in the UK.

But Harry arrived in London by himself today, and is expected to join the Duchess on a tour to Nigeria later this week with Meghan set to fly there from the US by herself.

Harry is also not anticipated to see his brother Prince William , who is scheduled to be away from the capital on Thursday and Friday, or his sister-in-law Kate Middleton whose cancer treatment continues following her revealing the diagnosis in March.

Earlier today, Charles was photographed being driven from Windsor Castle before arriving at Clarence House in London soon after. The King later held an audience nearby at Buckingham Palace with the Prime Minister of Fiji, Sitiveni Rabuka.

The Duke has invited William and other senior members of the Royal Family to the service but none of them are expected to attend, sources told Page Six in the US.

Among the royals who could attend include his cousins Zara Tindall and Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie, but there has been no confirmation of this. Harry is expected to stay at a hotel in London because he no longer has Frogmore Cottage in Windsor.

Today, Harry paid tribute to the Invictus Games family’s ‘commitment, enthusiasm and belief’ and joined an Invictus conference looking back over the past decade.

Harry arrived at the Honourable Artillery Company’s headquarters on the edge of the City of London for the one-day summit, called the Invictus Games Foundation Conversation, ahead of tomorrow’s service

Writing in the foreword for the summit, Harry said: ‘It has been an honour to watch the Invictus Games Foundation grow over the years; what began as a vision to pay tribute to the courage and resilience of wounded, injured, and sick service personnel and veterans, has flourished into an international organisation built on hope, strength, and unity.’

Harry was inspired to found the global tournament after attending the Warrior Games in Colorado in 2013 and seeing how injured American military personnel thrived on the challenge of taking part in competitive sports that aided their recovery.

He went on to stage the inaugural games in London’s Olympic Park in 2014, followed by Orlando in 2016, Toronto in 2017 and Sydney 2018.

Organisers said after 2020, Invictus will be staged every two years, but The Hague Games planned for that year was delayed by the pandemic until 2022, followed by Dusseldorf 2023, while Vancouver Whistler is planned for 2025.

The duke wrote: ‘As we look ahead to the first winter hybrid Games at Vancouver Whistler 2025 next year, we are eager to celebrate the Invictus Spirit once again – exemplified in every single competitor, staff, friend and family member – your commitment, enthusiasm and belief, have been the driving force behind our continued success.’

He added: ‘Together, we have created a legacy that transcends sports; a community that embraces compassion, respect, and the unyielding belief in the power of the human spirit. As we celebrate this milestone, let us recommit to the Invictus mission.’

Charles is likely to be in London tomorrow for his usual weekly audience with Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, but it does not appear father and son will be able to meet.

Although Charles has been left wounded by his son’s behaviour in recent years, he has always privately insisted he will keep the door open for him to at least speak.

William, however, is understood to find his brother’s betrayal more difficult to forgive or even put to one side.

The Prince and Princess of Wales will be at Windsor where they have asked for privacy so that Kate can focus on her recovery from serious abdominal surgery and ongoing preventative chemotherapy for the cancer that was subsequently discovered.

It will be Harry’s first visit to the UK since February when he returned for a brief trip to see his father the King following his cancer diagnosis.

It is also the first major event he has attended in Britain for some time and comes amid his ongoing a legal case about his personal security arrangements whenever he is in the UK.

It will also be Harry’s first visit since the Princess of Wales revealed her cancer diagnosis.

Experts say that while he may meet his father the King, he will unlikely meet up with Kate or Prince William.

Royal author Tom Bower told MailOnline: ‘I’m sure he won’t see Kate. I would be surprised if Meghan came.’

Fellow royal commentator Richard Fitzwilliams added: ‘Catherine is undergoing preventative chemotherapy treatment and given how deep the rift is, to me it seems unlikely.

‘The only hope of reconciliation is that it would happen privately and we wouldn’t know.’

And former BBC royal correspondent Michael Cole said: ‘After so much bad blood, it is very difficult indeed to see any sort of reconciliation between the Sussexes and the Royal Family happening (this) week – or for the foreseeable future.’

Harry and Meghan were understood to have made contact with the Prince and Princess of Wales ‘privately’ after Kate announced her cancer diagnosis.

They also released a statement, saying: ‘We wish health and healing for Kate and the family.’

Tomorrow’s service at St Paul’s, which is expected to run from 5pm until 6pm, will come two days after Harry’s son Archie celebrated his fifth birthday yesterday.

Representatives from across the Invictus Games participating nations, including members of the wounded, injured and sick service personnel and veteran community, will also be in attendance.

Following the ceremony, Harry and Meghan are scheduled to head to Nigeria after being invited by the west African country’s chief of defence staff.

He met Harry in Germany last September at the Invictus Games Düsseldorf in Germany, which was also attended by the Duchess.

Harry is patron of the Invictus Games Foundation and last year released a documentary series with Netflix called Heart of Invictus about the athletes.

Yesterday, the Sussexes celebrated Archie’s fifth birthday privately before their upcoming travel plans, reported People.

A source said a ‘low-key’ party was planned at the family’s £12million mansion in Montecito, California.

They added: ‘They’ll have friends around them and Meghan’s mom, Doria (Ragland). Meghan will definitely have support that weekend.’

Speaking about Lilibet, the source also said: ‘They are so sweet together. Archie loves Lili. He’s such a sweet boy. When she’s not around, he asks, ‘Where’s Lili?”

In February, the Duke and Duchess both attended a launch event for the new winter version of the Invictus Games in Whistler, Canada.

Speaking to ABC’s Good Morning America at the time, Harry said: The kids are doing great.’ He added. ‘The kids are growing up like all kids do, very, very fast.

‘They’ve both got an incredible sense of humour and make us laugh and keep us grounded every single day, like most kids do. I’m just grateful to be a dad.’

Also yesterday, Charles and Queen Camilla celebrated the first anniversary of their Coronation, which was attended by Harry – fifth in line to the throne.

He was seated in the third row in Westminster Abbey and had no formal role in the proceedings.

The Duke of Sussex is set to visit the King as he continues his cancer convalescence during a trip to the UK for the 10th anniversary of the Invictus Games but he is not expected to meet Prince William

Royal fans hoping to see Harry and William heal their fractured relationship were dealt a blow with news they will not meet when the Duke comes to London.

King Charles has 'no time' to see Prince Harry during UK trip

While Prince Harry ’s reunion with his dad will be a welcome sight as the King recovers from cancer, the gesture will not extend to his brother. The Duke will be flying in from the US to attend a ceremony on Wednesday at St Paul’s Cathedral marking the 10th anniversary of the Invictus Games, which he set up for injured servicemen and women to compete in a variety of sports.

A source said: “Harry has kept in regular contact with his father on several occasions and made no secret of his desire to see him when he can. He has been especially concerned about him and hopes the King will be well and able to see him as planned.” Royal sources insisted that despite having a busy diary next week, Charles intends to see his estranged son.

But an insider said of Harry’s snub to William: “Their relationship remains extremely fractured. Harry has privately expressed a wish to sit down with his brother but now is not the time.” Harry, 39, is due to arrive in London on Tuesday and stay three days. It will be his second time in Britain this year, after February’s trip to see his dad a day after it was announced Charles had cancer.

Harry managed to see his ailing father for just 30 minutes at Clarence House. It marked a healing step in their relationship that was dented after Harry and Meghan quit royal life in 2020 and moved to the US. Charles, who returned to public duties this week, is expected to be in London on Tuesday for cancer treatment.

Aides said his movements are dependent on how he is feeling on any day. Harry’s contact with his dad has “remained positive”, a source revealed. The Duke has sent messages of support during his cancer battle. In a recent US TV interview Harry said he hoped the King’s diagnosis can have a “reunifying effect” on the family.

The Prince will meet up with Meghan on Thursday in Nigeria, where the couple were invited to take part in cultural activities. They are expected to meet military staff during the trip, which is linked to the Invictus Games. It is their first trip to the African nation, which holds a special place in Meghan’s heart having revealed last year she is “43% Nigerian”.

The couple will later fly home to the US and not stop in Britain. The King is to become patron of the Royal British Legion after a major review of more than 1,000 royal patronages since the Queen’s death.

Meghan Markle’s new Netflix show will be ‘inspired by Princess Kate’s parenting’

Meghan Markle is reportedly keen to follow in the footsteps of her sister-in-law Kate Middleton when she starts her new series for Netflix.

Meghan Markle has reportedly taken a leaf out of Kate Middleton’s parenting book for her upcoming Netflix show.

The Duchess of Sussex announced in March that she would be launching her own lifestyle brand, American Riviera Orchard, with a focus on homewares and kitchen accessories, as well as nut butters, jams and conserves.

It was later revealed that Meghan would feature in a new cooking show on Netflix, as part of her and Prince Harry’s whopping £80 million ($100 million) five-year deal with the streaming giant, which would spotlight her new business venture.

Despite the frosty relationship with her sister-in-law, it is said that the Duchess has been “inspired” by Kate’s approach to parenting; specifically, her desire to have her and Prince William’s three children – Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis – alongside her at public appearances.

Meghan and Kate initially had a warm friendship when Harry introduced the former Suits actress to his brother and beloved sister-in-law, but their close bond later deteriorated.

At the time, it was claimed that Meghan had reduced Kate to tears following a disagreement over Princess Charlotte’s flower girl dress, which Kate felt was too large and needed adjustments.

A heated exchange ensued, and palace insiders reported that Kate was left weeping after Meghan was purportedly discourteous towards her.

However, in the bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey in 2021, the Duchess of Sussex countered by saying it was actually Kate who made her cry, and she had “owned it and apologised”.

In an endearing change of heart, Meghan is said to be taking a leaf out of Kate’s book regarding motherhood and aims to feature her and Harry’s offspring – Prince Archie, aged 4, and Princess Lilibet, aged 2 – in her upcoming Netflix series.

A source confided to OK! magazine that the 42-year-old is keen to emulate the Princess of Wales’ approach to gradually introducing their children to the public eye.

“She would love for Archie and Lilibet to make guest appearances on her new show as being a mum is a huge part of her life and wants to show off that part of her world, just like Kate does occasionally when she takes her children to work events,” they revealed

    Meghan Markle and Prince Harry

However, Harry is still “traumatised” by the intrusion into his childhood, as well as into his adult life, and the source claims he wants to keep his young children out of the spotlight, which has left the couple at odds over the Netflix show.

“They’re in a completely different situation and Archie and Lili are never going to be anonymous and ‘normal’ kids because of who their parents are, so Meghan is hoping Harry will get on board with her plans soon,” the source added.

Meghan Markle is set to avoid yet another UK return with Prince Harry next week as he attends an event to mark 10 years of the Invictus Games

Meghan Markle’s strained relationship with the Royal Family is showing no signs of subsiding as the Duchess once again misses out on a return to the UK.

It’s been confirmed the former Suits star will not be joining her husband Prince Harry when she returns to England for the 10th year anniversary celebration of the Invictus Games next week. Instead, she will be staying stateside with their children before she heads to Nigeria with the Duke shortly after.

With the former Suits star’s fragile relationship with Princess Kate well known, a resurfaced clip of her talking about their differences has been shared online. However, at the time, it appeared as though Meghan was hailing the “different personalities” of herself, Harry, Kate and Prince William.

    The Waleses and Sussexes

The message came during a joint appearance with Prince Harry and Waleses at the Royal Foundation Forum in 2018. Meghan said: “Thank goodness it’s such differing personalities and that everyone’s very communicative because that’s how you can really see bigger change. If everyone’s thinking the same way, how are you going to push the envelope? You know, how are you really going to break through in a different sort of mindset?”

She continued: “Changing mindsets and all of that is part of this communication that we have constantly. So, I think it’s part of the reason we’ve had so much success with Heads Together and whatever we end up working on moving forward.”

Things have dramatically soured since those words and now Meghan is seen to be actively avoiding any interaction with the Royal Family. It’s claimed her decision to steer clear of the UK next week shows she wants to “isolate herself from Buckingham Palace”.

Meghan Markle Reportedly Wants to Have Kate Middleton on Her Podcast

PR expert Ryan McCormick says she is more focused on her desire to establish an “independent presence” with this new venture, away from the Royal Family. “Meghan choosing not to join Harry in the UK may have to do with her focusing more efforts on her new company American Riviera Orchard,” he said.

“At the same time, the Duchess may wish to further isolate herself from Buckingham Palace. Why? Markle could be tired out from the Royals or see the close association as an obstacle towards further establishing an independent business and personal presence in the US.”

One of Kate Middleton and Prince William’s go-to designers is expressing concern for the couple amid the Princess of Wales’ cancer treatment.

Amaia Arrieta, the designer behind many of the looks worn by the couple’s children Prince George, 10, Princess Charlotte, 9, and Prince Louis, 6, through the years, told The Telegraph: “I’m heartbroken at the moment. I think they are going through hell.”

“I hope they will be back. It’s really personal,” Arrieta added.

Princess Kate, 42, has dressed her children in clothes by the Spanish-born designer since Prince George was a baby — something Arietta discovered while grocery shopping.

“The first time I realized Prince George was wearing my designs, I was in Waitrose and saw the picture of him on the cover of Hello! magazine,” she recalled. “That was a huge moment because they had been coming to us, but you never know if they’ll actually wear it.”

She continued to work closely with the children’s nanny, Maria Teresa Turrion Borrallo, on outfits for George, Charlotte and Louis, including momentous occasions that make the front page such as Princess Eugenie’s 2018 wedding, birthdays and the royal family’s annual Christmas Day outing to church.

“It’s often a very tight deadline,” she reveals. “We would do anything for them…the children always look amazing in the end.”

Princess Charlotte, who celebrated her 9th birthday on May 2, recently wore a skirt by Amaia London in the photo released to mark Mother’s Day. (The image prompted Kate to release a statement after it was removed by multiple news agencies due to suspicions of manipulation. “Like many amateur photographers, I do occasionally experiment with editing. I wanted to express my apologies for any confusion the family photograph we shared yesterday caused,” she said.)

Arietta told The Telegraph, “Dressing the royals gives me so much pride, I really do care about how they look.”

Less than two weeks after the Mother’s Day photo controversy, Princess Kate appeared in a video to deliver a self-written speech announcing her cancer news. Post-operative tests from her “planned abdominal surgery” in January revealed that “cancer had been present,” prompting her to start chemotherapy, the royal mom said.

Calling the health news a “huge shock,” Princess Kate said that she and her husband “have been doing everything we can to process and manage this privately for the sake of our young family. As you can imagine, this has taken time. It has taken me time to recover from major surgery in order to start my treatment. But, most importantly, it has taken us time to explain everything to George, Charlotte and Louis in a way that is appropriate for them, and to reassure them that I am going to be okay.”

Prince William, 41, has resumed royal duties and recently spoke about his wife and children for the first time since Princess Kate shared her health update.

“Do you mind if I ask how your wife and children are?” a woman asked the Prince of Wales following his visit to the charity James’ Place Newcastle on April 30.

“We’re all doing well, thank you,” he replied.

“And obviously Catherine?” the woman continued, to which William said, “We’re all doing well.”

The news of Princess Kate’s diagnosis came weeks after her father-in-law, King Charles, announced on Feb. 5 that he was undergoing treatment for cancer. “During The King’s recent hospital procedure for benign prostate enlargement, a separate issue of concern was noted. Subsequent diagnostic tests have identified a form of cancer,” the palace said in a statement. “His Majesty has today commenced a schedule of regular treatments, during which time he has been advised by doctors to postpone public-facing duties. Throughout this period, His Majesty will continue to undertake state business and official paperwork as usual.”

Prince William and Princess Kate have been estranged from Prince Harry and Meghan Markle for almost four years — but the future king and queen “are open” to a reconciliation, a source says.

The anonymous insider told Us Weekly that William and Kate are motivated to make amends for the sake of their three children.

“They want a relationship with Meghan and Harry, and they don’t want the acrimony to carry over to the next generation,” the source stated.

The insider added that Meghan and Harry feel similarly, saying: “Obviously, the Duke and Duchess want their kids to have a relationship with their cousins.”

However, a separate source told The Mirror that it’s unlikely there will be any face-to-face reunion.

“Their relationship remains extremely fractured. Harry has privately expressed a wish to sit down with his brother but now is not the time,” he stated.

Denise Welch tells Loose Women guest ‘don’t disrespect me’ in explosive Meghan Markle row

A discussion about the Royal Family on Loose Women descended into chaos when Denise Welch told a guest not to ‘disrespect her’.

On Monday’s episode of the ITV programme, royal correspondent and the late Queen Elizabeth’s former press spokesperson Dickie Arbiter appeared to speak about the one-year anniversary of King Charles’ coronation.

However, things took a turn when he mentioned the strained relations between Prince Harry and his family.

‘Harry has been rubbishing his family since they walked out in 2020,’ he said.

Jumping in, Denise asked him if he believed if there was a reason Harry ‘did such a thing’ after his interview with Oprah Winfrey was mentioned, as well as his explosive autobiography Spare.

Commenting how she believed the King ‘ruined a lot of’ Princess Diana’s life, Denise then mentioned how Meghan Markle was ‘continually trashed by the media, including by yourself’.

As the studio audience began clapping, Denise raised her voice and declared: ‘I am just sick to death of the bashing that this woman gets.

‘Hardly any of you mention Andrew and yet we continually berate this woman every day. I think when her children grow up and see what she goes through, I think Harry had a bloody good reason to write that book in my opinion.’

Responding, Dickie said he ‘wasn’t going to argue’ with Denise as that wasn’t the aim of his appearance but added that he believed she had ‘been reading too many tabloid stories’.

Hitting back, Denise was not impressed and told him not to ‘disrespect’ her.

‘I have read lots of stories about Meghan before and I think it is a disgrace the way she has been treated,’ she said.

After Dickie said the way Harry and Meghan had treated the Royal Family was ‘disgraceful’ and said the couple ‘didn’t have to walk out’, Coleen Nolan tried to diffuse the situation.

However, Denise was outraged: ‘Don’t have a guest on and… I can say what I like Coleen!’

Dickie then said that he would like to see a reunion between the King and his youngest son, with the conversation then calming down.

As the segment wrapped up, he and Denise then kissed each other on the cheek.

There was a mixed reaction to what unfolded from viewers, with some praising Denise and others saying she should have held her tongue.

‘Denise entitled to her opinion, but there’s a time and a place to let rip,’ Katie posted on X.

‘Denise Welch does not have the ability to listen or speak to people in a respectful way. Dickie Arbiter acted with class and everyone like he said is entitled to their own opinion. Just not in the appalling way she did,’ Chris shared.

‘If Dickie hadn’t rubbished Harry and Meghan, Denise wouldn’t have needed to step in and give the other side of the debate. Good on her,’ Tina added.

A long-time supporter of Harry and Meghan, this time last year Denise declared that she would prefer to ‘declare my allegiance’ to the young couple rather than the monarch.

During an episode of Loose Women in which the panel discussed the public being invited to ‘cry out and swear allegiance’ to King Charles and Queen Camilla, Denise said that while she ‘has nothing against the Royal Family’ she wanted to instead pledge allegiance to Harry and Meghan.
