Meghan Markle discusses Halloween date with Prince Harry

The Duke of Sussex’s ex-girlfriend, Florence St George, dated the royal in 2011. However, she stated that she struggled with the media attention that comes with dating a prince. The 35-year-old said her privacy ended “abruptly” when she started dating Harry.

Speaking to Stella magazine, Mrs St George told how she struggled to cope with the lifestyle of being in a relationship with a royal.

Mrs St George said her school friends were “interrogated” and paparazzi camped outside her front door.

The former girlfriend of Harry married multi-millionaire Henry St George in 2014.

In an interview with Stella magazine, she said: “I take my hat off to those people who can cope with that lifestyle.

The news comes after a royal expert told the Daily Mirror that Prince Harry is “clearly a lot happier in the US”.

Harry and Meghan moved to California in March 2020.

In a recent interview with US television host Ellen DeGeneres, the Duchess of Sussex revealed her plans for Thanksgiving with her family.

She told Ellen DeGeneres: “I love to cook, we’ll be at home and just relax and sort of settle in.

“It’s our second Thanksgiving at home in California.

    “So it will be nice.”

Harry could discuss memoir on Meghan’s podcast claims Schofield

Meghan Markle’s podcast launch got pushed back to 2025 and A-list celebrities not having time for her is one of the reasons why, a royal commentator has claimed.

The Duchess of Sussex’s podcast distributor, Lemonada Media, postponed the launch of the series by at least a year over fears it will be overshadowed by her latest cooking show on Netflix, and concerns over “scheduling conflicts” between the launch of its podcasts and that of Meghan’s lifestyle brand, American Riviera Orchard.

But now royal commentator Kinsey Schofield claimed a lack of available dates for her prospective guests is proving to be a stumbling block.

She told GB News: “There are sources telling the Daily Mail that Meghan has a list of very high profile guests scheduled to participate in her new podcast, but does she?

“Very high profile guests usually have their diaries filled months in advance. Meghan should know, she used to be that [high profile].”

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s life in California couldn’t be any more different to the one they once lived.

After marrying in 2018, the couple were full-time working members of the Royal Family who travelled both within the UK and overseas to engagements representing Queen Elizabeth II.

In late 2019 when Harry and Meghan embarked on a tour of South Africa with their young baby son, Prince Archie Harrison. Months later, they stunned the world when they dramatically announced they’d be stepping down as working royals.

A BBC documentary that aired in 2021 charted the media coverage of Harry and Meghan from their wedding in May 2018 until they quit the Royal Family and left to start a new life in the United States.

In it, members of the royal press pack talked about their experiences on that tour.

Sky News Royal correspondent Rhiannon Mills recalled an exchange in Malawi with Harry where she called out to ask him a question while he was on an engagement – and was given short shrift after she “kicked the wasps’ nest”.

In the documentary, she acknowledged that she was indeed “slightly pushing her luck” by daring to ask a question once Harry had finished his visit to a health centre and was en route back to his vehicle, reports The Mirror.

Mills said: “He doesn’t yield to me for a full-blown chat, but he acknowledges my existence.” However, on this occasion, things unfolded rather differently.”

The documentary proceeds to depict how the incident played out, with Mills posing a question to Harry upon his departure from an event after engaging with some youngsters. She asks him: “What do you hope to achieve through this? “.

Meanwhile, Harry retorts with a simple: “What? Ask them.”

Reflecting on the occurrence for the documentary, the reporter added: “Most people observe this and think, ‘hold on, that query seems polite. Why did it provoke such a reaction?’

“In retrospect, I realise I’d essentially stirred up a hornet’s nest and was oblivious of it at the time.” Soon after the Duke and Duchess’s return to British soil, ITV released content documenting their journey.

The programme featured Harry discussing his reported rift with Prince William publicly for the first time, while new mum Meghan confessed that she hadn’t been asked if she was OK.

Following this revelation, news broke that Meghan and Harry planned to take some weeks off from royal duties, and they later spent Christmas 2019 in Canada.

Merely a few weeks into 2020, following the infamous Sandringham Summit, it became known that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex were planning to withdraw from their senior royal duties.

Since then, they’ve fashioned a life for their own family and children in the United States, settling down in a Tuscan-style villa in Montecito and establishing a separate foundation to continue pursuing their charitable and business interests.

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s marriage will last ‘years rather than decades,’ claims ex-Vanity Fair editor

Former Vanity Fair editor Graydon Carter believes Meghan Markle and Prince Harry won’t make it ’til death do them part.

“I would measure the duration of the marriage in years rather than decades,” Carter, 74, told the Sunday Times in an article published Sunday.

The Air Mail co-founder added that he believes the Duchess of Sussex got everything she wanted out of her marriage to the prince in order to re-launch her Hollywood career.

“I think she has run rings around poor Harry and gotten what she wanted: notoriety, money and a title,” he added. “His usefulness to her diminishes daily.”

The Canadian journalist admitted that the “Suits” alum probably won’t return to television, but that she would be a perfect fit for Bravo.

“If there is a ‘Real Housewives of Montecito’ show in the works, she’d be a shoo-in,” he joked.

Markle and Harry resigned from their royal duties two years after tying the knot in 2018. They moved to Montecito, Calif., where they reside with their two kids: Prince Archie, 4, and Princess Lilibet, 2.

Since then, Harry and Markle have set out to create an empire of sorts in the entertainment industry as they continue to rub shoulders with Hollywood heavy-hitters.

Meghan Markle has been blasted for new move which shows “it’s always about her,” according to a royal commentator.

Prince Harry will return to the UK on May 8 to attend an event to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Invictus Games.

Modeled after the Warrior Games in the US, the Invictus Games were founded by Harry in 2014 to offer wounded veterans the challenge of competing in sports events similar to the Paralympics.

But Meghan, nor their two children, Archie and Lilibet, are expected to join Harry on the visit back to his home country.

However, the Duchess of Sussex will travel to Nigeria for meetings about the Invictus Games with Harry later in May.

    Meghan Markle

GB News presenter Bev Turner said the Duchess will forego the trip to the UK in favour of visiting Nigeria. She is expected to meet Harry in Nigeria, where she aims to “discover her roots”.

Their invitation came from the country’s chief of defence staff, which happens to be its top military official.

Speaking about the forthcoming journey on GB News, Ingrid Seward, Editor of Majesty Magazine, suggested the couple’s visit might be connected to their upcoming Netflix projects and indicated that the Duchess of Sussex “wouldn’t travel all that way without a camera crew with them”.

Turner agreed, stating that the outing will “presumably have a Netflix documentary attached to it”.

Meghan Markle made some surprising comments about her future sister-in-law, Kate Middleton, years before their paths crossed.

Back in 2014, Markle had blogging venture called The Tig, where she delved into lifestyle topics and current affairs. In a post from July of that year, she made a subtle reference to Kate during a lifestyle interview with Libyan Princess Alia al Senussi.

Markle’s musings began with a nod to childhood fantasies of princesses, juxtaposing her own aspirations with the allure of iconic figures like “She-Ra, Princess of Power” from the He-Man universe.

However, she couldn’t overlook the fascination surrounding the royal wedding and the enduring discussions about Princess Kate.

“Grown women seem to retain that childhood fantasy. Just look at the pomp and circumstance surrounding the royal wedding and endless conversation about Princess Kate”, she wrote.

The blog, named after Markle’s beloved Tiganello wine, was shut down when her relationship with Prince Harry gained momentum.

Despite shared public appearances, reports of a strained dynamic between Meghan and Kate surfaced in 2019. Allegations emerged that Meghan had caused Kate distress before the 2018 royal wedding, although Meghan later refuted this claim during an interview with Oprah Winfrey.

In Prince Harry’s memoir, he recounted a tense moment between Meghan and Kate, where Kate expressed feeling hurt by Meghan’s comments about her postpartum experience.Meghan herself reflected on her initial encounters with Kate in the Netflix docuseries “Harry & Meghan,” noting the stark formality even behind closed doors.

“It’s so funny if I look back at it now because now I know so much and I’m so glad I didn’t then. Because I could just authentically be myself without so much preparedness,” she said.

“Even when Will and Kate came over and I met her for the first time, they came over for dinner and I was in ripped jeans and I was barefoot. It’s like I was a hugger, I’ve always been a hugger. I didn’t realise that that is really jarring for a lot of Brits.

“I guess I started to understand very quickly that the formality on the outside carried through to the inside…that there is a forward-facing way of being and then you close the door, and you go ‘Oh…ok we can relax now.’ But that formality carries over on both sides and that was surprising to me.”

While Kate has remained silent on the plethora of claims made by Meghan and Harry since their departure from the royal fold, the two were last seen together at the funeral of the late Queen in September 2022.

Meghan Markle previously posed a “sly” 15-word dig directed at the Royal Family whilst discussing her past role on her podcast, Archetypes – and some fans will have completely missed it.

The Duchess of Sussex, who stepped down from duties in 2020 alongside husband Prince Harry, appeared to aim a jibe at the family in the finale episode of her podcast.

Archetypes was released via Spotify in 2021 and only lasted for one series, with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s deal with the major streaming service coming to an end last year.

Meghan used the podcast to reflect on what she had learnt on her journey so far and, in the finale episode released in November 2021, she said: “I feel seen. I had never considered that in using my voice that I would feel seen, but I do.”

She continued: “Many moons ago, I heard a quote that I will share with you today. Because as we talk about labels, tropes, and boxes that some may try to squeeze you into and roles and stereotypes that are attributed to you that don’t quite fit the full person you are.”

The quote that Meghan went on to share came from a piece of writing by Greek poet Dinos Christianopoulos. It reads: “What didn’t you do to bury me, but you forgot that I was a seed.”

In a subtle 15-word dig to the Royal Family, Meghan said: “To that point, my friend, keep growing, and I’ll see you on the flip side.”

Speaking to the Sun, royal biographer and commentator Phil Dampier said that this was a subtle way for Meghan to hit out at the Royal Family.

Meghan Markle’s life has always been a matter of curiosity for many people, and with the addition of the Prince Harry, it has only grown stronger. One particular incident before their marriage has caught the attention of fans when Meghan revealed her real name during an interview on The Rachel Ray Show.

The host of the show, Rachel Ray, brought up the fact that Meghan’s character in the TV show Suits had the same name as her. “The character’s name is Rachel, which is great,” said Ray.

Meghan explains the terrible treatment she’s received, having been called ‘crazy’ and ‘histerical’

To which Meghan replied, “Did you know my first name is Rachel in real life? Did you know that?” The host was surprised and said, “I had no idea,” but unfortunately, she interrupted Meghan just as she was about to reveal something interesting about her name.

Fans of the Duchess were left irritated by the clip because the interviewer did not give Meghan a chance to finish her thought. “Meghan was just about to explain why she’s known by Meghan and not Rachel… ‘My parents…’ but this overbearing host just interrupted. Poor interviewing skills,” wrote one fan on social media.

Another fan expressed disappointment and said: “Oh, my days! I really wanted to hear what she was going to say about her parents and her name.” It appears that Meghan never got a chance to explain the story behind why she uses her middle name publicly, and the mystery remains unsolved.

What’s the reason behind her name decision?

According to reports, Meghan used the name since her college days, although Meghan seems to suggest her parents called her something other than “Rachel” before she’s cut off by the host. It has been theorized that Meghan went by her middle name because “Rachel” and “Markle” have a weak rhyme, but this has never been confirmed.

In typical royal style, Prince Harry has a very long name with many middle names. His real given name is Prince Henry Charles Albert David. Since Harry and Meghan both stepped back from their royal roles, neither has been permitted to use the HRH style.

The birth certificate of her son Archie revealed her full name as “Rachel Meghan Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Sussex.” However, the story behind why she uses her middle name remains a mystery.

Fact Check: Did Meghan Markle Lie About Her Age?

Meghan Markle will turn 42 in 2023 but a YouTube video viewed tens of thousands of times claims she lied about her age and is actually several years older.

The Duchess of Sussex marked her 40th birthday in August 2021 and has given the date of birth August 4, 1981, in official documents.

This makes Meghan three years older than Prince Harry and one year older than Prince William and Kate Middleton.

    The Claim

YouTube account @royalmassive6515 posted a video on Feb 9, 2023, which has been viewed 69,595 times and is titled: “Meg Is Really 45 Years Old! Samantha Exposes Meghan’s True Age In Court: She Was Born In 1977.”

The narrator says: “The court papers filed by her sister state Meghan was born in 1977. Meghan also revealed her true age before in her other court case in London in 2021.”

The video quotes what it describes as a Twitter message which it says refers to Meghan as ‘Pinocchio’: “OMG. You do realise that she’s revealed her true age. Pinocchio has stated in the document you have shown that she was two years old when Samantha was 15 years when she moved to the other side of town. Which means there is a 13 year gap between them. Samantha, born November 1964, is 57 years old today. Pinocchio is 13 years younger. That little slip up revelation means Pinocchio is 44 years old. Gotcha!”

The video goes on to cite another Tweet which suggested the document in question was an email containing “the facts” she wanted former Kensington Palace communications secretary Jason Knauf “to go over with the authors of FF Finding Freedom.”

The narrator added: “People believe she’s lying about her age so she doesn’t seem too much older than her husband who’s 38. Is it possible that Meghan Markle is 45 years old? In theory it could be because she has enough money to pull off a lie like that.”

    The Facts

Meghan marked her 40th birthday with a message released through her Archewell website: “In reflecting on my 40th birthday and the many things I am grateful for, I’m struck that time is among our greatest and most essential gifts.”

Rachel Meghan Markle, her full name, is listed with the date of birth August 4, 1981, on the California Birth Index, 1905-1995, according to familysearch.org. This date of birth matches Meghan’s account rather than the YouTube video’s.

It also matches the date of birth given for the Duchess of Sussex on official documents lodged at Companies House in the U.K. from the era when Meghan and Prince Harry had a U.K. public company, originally named Sussex Royal.

Samantha has filed a libel lawsuit against Meghan over the contents of the royal biography Finding Freedom and the duchess’ comments about their relationship to Oprah Winfrey.

However, it is unclear where the claim about Samantha Markle disputing Meghan’s age has come from, since Samantha’s book The Diary of Princess Pushy’s Sister gives Meghan’s date of birth as August 1981, not 1977, though she offers a slightly different day.

The book reads: “The Great Migration of 1632 brought our early ancestors to the United States from England on the Mayflower, and The Ship Lyon, but the great migration of genes brought the Ship ‘Meghan Flower’ to dock at our house on August 31, 1981. My baby sister was bi-racial, beautiful, and was both the color of a peach and a rose.”

Samantha’s libel complaint also does not state that Meghan was born in 1977 and in fact, contrary to the YouTube video, in a court filing seen by Newsweek her lawyers state: “During their childhood, the Duchess was very close to her older sister despite their 17-year age difference.”

Samantha’s book gives her own date of birth as November 1964, suggesting a 17-year age gap would make Meghan a 1981 birthday, just as she has said.

The YouTube video’s claim about the email appears to arise from evidence submitted to a separate lawsuit between Meghan and The Mail on Sunday about the newspaper’s decision to publish a letter she sent her father.

Jason Knauf, former Kensington Palace communications secretary, submitted as evidence an email that Meghan had sent him in December 2018.

The document was released through the Court of Appeal in November 2021 and contained briefing notes from Meghan ahead of a meeting Knauf held with Omid Scobie and Carolyn Durand, the authors of the biography Finding Freedom.

Meghan’s email, seen by Newsweek, read: “Doria [her mother] left Tom [her father] when Meghan was two years old (moved to the other side of town 45 minutes away). His other children were 15 and 17 years old.

“Tom Jr and Samantha dropped out of high school and moved out of their father’s home the same year. With a 16 year age gap and Meghan being a baby, there was minimal interaction.”

The ages cited in the email are clearly slightly confused, since she initially implies the existence of a 13-year age gap between her and Samantha and 15 years between her and Tom Jr. before later stating there was a 16-year age gap.

What is the controversy around Meghan Markle's age? Did she lie about her birth year? - Quora

    The Ruling

    False.

Meghan may have confused the relative ages of her siblings during her private email to Knauf in December 2018, however, there is nothing to suggest Meghan is not 41 nor that she lied about her age.

August 4, 1981, is listed as her date of birth on the California Birth Index as well as official documentation lodged at Companies House in Britain. That date of birth matches her public statements about her age.

Far from contradicting Meghan, Samantha Markle’s book and libel claim both appear to support Meghan’s own account of her August 1981 date of birth.
