The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have slowly eased their way back into the limelight but their public appearances have come with a series of cringeworthy errors between them.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle made their shock exit from the Royal Family in 2020 and relocated across the Atlantic with their new found freedom to Montecito, California.

Despite asking for privacy to start their new lives in America with their two kids Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, the Sussexes have slowly been easing themselves back into the public eye.

In recent weeks and months, the duke and duchess have returned to the limelight after a slew of public appearances including their joint appearance at the Invictus Games in September and Meghan’s outing to a Farmers’ Market in the summer.

The former royal couple have also been seen rubbing shoulders with Hollywood A-listers during various appearances at concerts in LA and Vegas.

However, with a series of public appearances comes a string of awkward blunders which Prince Harry and Meghan Markle seem to be prone to, the Mirror reports.

From an awkward mic snatch to looking out of place, here we take a closer look at some of the couple’s most cringe worthy moments in recent months.

Meghan’s mic snatch at Kevin Costner’s party

The Sussexes attended Kevin Costner’s One805 Live! charity event back in September which was held at the actor’s $26m polo-field in Santa Barbara.

While at the event, the couple got up on stage with Kevin, which is when the awkward moment unfolded.

Taking to X, formerly Twitter, one page shared footage of Meghan at the event with them pointing out the cringe filled blunder.

The clip showed Meghan walking towards a woman who was heading in her direction as she reached out for the microphone the woman was holding.

As the duchess went to grab the microphone, the lady held onto it tightly before Meghan broke her grasp as the woman walked past her.

The former actress seemed to quickly recover from the snub by directing the lady in the direction she was meant to be heading instead.

However, eagle eyed critics were quick to notice the error as one wrote: “She’s all manic over the attention she thinks the lady is giving her the microphone”.

Another commented: “Omg the second-hand embarrassment” while a third said: “Ouch so embarrassing!!”

A fourth then wrote: “But she wasn’t giving her the microphone.”

Prince Harry was raised in England and lived there for his entire adult life up until several years ago so it’s not a surprise that living in the US has been a shock to his system.

Since rubbing shoulders with famous faces in LA, the duke has endured many awkward moments where he appears to be out of place.

One of these moments occurred at the charity event hosted by Kevin Costner as body language expert Judi James claimed the 39-year-old prince seemed “uncomfortable” at the bash.

She explained how Harry appeared to look “less comfortable, looking rather out of place in the celebrity surroundings”, while Meghan appeared “entranced”.

Prince Harry seemed “uncomfortable”, and even looked a little angry, according to body language expert Judi James.

Speaking to The Sun, she said: “Harry might like to relish his role as the ‘cool one’ of the royal family but that is an extremely low bar, and seeing him mingling in the world of Hollywood celebrity again here his body language does define him as the proverbial fish out of water.

“It was Celine Dion getting all the fuss and star treatment here, while Harry appeared to be queuing to walk past her.

“In the UK he would have never been upstaged or outranked by a celebrity.”

Meghan breaking farmers’ market rules

Back in July, Meghan was seen out and about in California at the Santa Barbara Certified Farmers Market.

The former actress was spotted alone as she wandered round the markets to browse the fresh goods that were on offer.

However, Meghan was said to have broken a rule that the market had at the time as she was spotted with her beagle and a security guard.

In a photo shared exclusively by Daily Mail, there is a sign at the market that reads: “NO DOGS ALLOWED with the exception of recognized (sp) service animals… we thank you for your understanding and cooperation.”

There was also a Yelp page for the market, with a question that reads: “Is it dog friendly?” and a response that says: “No dogs allowed, except service animals. There are signs at every entrance.”

Awkward pub outing

Another awkward public moment for the Sussexes’ happened just days ago as they attended the opening of a new veteran centre in San Diego.

While the awkward usher took place, Harry was pictured with a glum expression in comparison to his beaming wife.

Meghan waved at the crowds outside before she and Harry entered the new building for a tour with the duchess seemingly leading her husband.

A shocking new book by royal biographer Omid Scobie appears to reveal the monarchy’s fight for survival as well as Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s exit from royal life.

Omid Scobie has released a brand new book focusing on the institution and the Firm’s fight for survival – it also contains more shock revelations about Meghan and Harry and their explosive allegations about what happened when the Queen died.

The book is due to be released at the end of November but ahead of hitting shelves, an excerpt from it has been published by US-based PEOPLE magazine, shedding more light on the relationship between Harry and Meghan and the likes of King Charles and Prince William reports the Mirror.

It follows his first book about Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s dramatic exit from the Royal Family which sent shockwaves through the Firm.

Harry in the dark

One of the most shocking revelations in the book claims that Harry was ‘kept in the dark’ about his late grandmother as Queen Elizabeth’s health continued to decline prior to her death on September 8, 2022.

The book claims that the Duke of Sussex was not informed about his grandmother’s worsening health during the hours before her death.

The author adds that Harry and Meghan had ‘no idea’ the rest of the Firm was preparing for the late monarch’s death.

In an extract from Mr Scobie’s book, which has been shared with PEOPLE, he writes: “The Sussexes had no idea that Buckingham Palace was already planning for the Queen’s final hours and the first days of the monarchy’s new era – until the duke’s phone started ringing. An unknown number. He usually ignored those.”

Meghan also urged her husband to answer the phone he accepted the call “just before it stopped”. Omid said: “Harry hadn’t spoken to his father much that year, but this was not the time for any father-and-son tension. Charles told him he and Camilla were about to leave Dumfries House for Balmoral, where Princess Anne was already by the Queen’s side. He told Harry to make his way to Scotland immediately.”

Harry ‘forced to beg’

Finally, Harry was told of his grandmother’s state and managed to catch a flight from LA to Scotland, with the late Queen’s death announced just after 6.30pm, not long before Harry’s plane landed in Aberdeen.

And according to the excerpt, Harry’s team had to ‘beg’ Buckingham Palace not to announce the sad news earlier.

It reads: “His team literally had to beg for them to wait for his plane to land and they reluctantly agreed to hold the statement back for a little bit,” confirmed a close family source. But as stormy weather over Aberdeen International forced Harry’s plane to circle the airport numerous times before landing, patience at the Buckingham Palace press office wore thin — they could wait no longer and the announcement went live at 6:30 p.m.

“When Harry’s plane finally touched tarmac twenty minutes later, he received a text from Meghan urging him to call ASAP followed by a breaking news alert via the BBC News app with the announcement of the Queen’s death.”

King Charles ‘betrayal’

Another shocking claim that transpired in the book was that Harry was left ‘crushed’ that he didn’t find out about the Queen’s death until after it was announced to the world.

Apparently, Charles’s decision to keep the Duke in the dark was not what his grandmother would have wanted in the end.

When Elizabeth II died on September 8 last year, it was initially reported that Charles personally called Harry to tell him the news about his late grandmother.

However, in Harry’s tell-all memoir Spare, the Duke contests this and claims he found out about his grandmother’s passing after he read about it on the BBC News website once he disembarked a flight to Aberdeen on his way to travelling to Balmoral, where the late Queen died.

It adds: “‘Harry was crushed,’ said a friend of the duke. ‘His relationship with the Queen was everything to him. She would have wanted him to know before it went out to the world. They could have waited just a little longer, it would have been nothing in the grand scheme of things, but no one respected that at all’.”

Harry’s real reason for quitting

Elsewhere in the book, claims are made that Harry was viewed as a ‘threat to the crown’ and exposed the truth behind the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s departure from the Firm.

In one excerpt of the book, Mr Scobie says Harry wanted the ability to think freely.

“These are probably sad realisations that will be had far too late in the journey. In the eyes of some within the institution, Harry is a threat to the crown. His freedom to exert his own thinking outside of the confines of the institution has made him the enemy,” he writes.

William’s brutal response

The excerpt also divulges into Harry’s rocky relationship with his brother Prince William – which is reportedly now at an all-time low.

The brothers have now been embroiled in a bitter rift for several years, and it seems there is no end in sight.

One of the flash points in their feud was the publication of the Californian-based Prince’s explosive memoir, Spare, in which he claimed that William physically attacked him in a heated row at Kensington Palace, amongst other allegations.

In various interviews earlier in 2022, Harry claimed he was keen to receive an apology from his family about how he was treated – especially as he and Meghan raised their concerns about their mental health.

However, Mr Scobie states that “absolutely nothing has changed” between William and Harry recently.

Detailing the brutal one-word response Harry received when leaving royal life, he writes: “I was talking to a source quite early on in the process, and they called Harry a ‘defector’ and said that was William’s view. These were two men who once upon a time were firmly aligned in their outlook. One of them had to move on to also protect the crown.”

‘Brainwashing’ fears

The book also goes on to claim that William “doesn’t want to know” his younger brother, who he believes has been ‘brainwashed an army of therapists’.

It claims “[William] believes Harry and Meghan blindsided the family, even the Queen, with their public complaints and their ‘oh so California’ self-importance (an opinion he has repeatedly voiced in various ways to friends and aides during the past two years). Convinced Harry’s been brainwashed by an ‘army of therapists’, William says he no longer even recognises his own brother, a source said.”

Endgame will be released at the end of this month – and is described on Amazon as “a penetrating investigation into the current state of the British monarchy”.

The book’s description goes on to say: “An unpopular king, a power-hungry heir to the throne, a queen willing to go to dangerous lengths to preserve her image, and a prince forced to start a new life after being betrayed by his own family.” Endgame, which will be published on November 28, is subtitled “Inside the Royal Family and the Monarchy’s Fight for Survival”.

Publisher HarperCollins previously said the book will “have the world talking” and Mr Scobie said it will reveal moments that royals should be “ashamed of”.

The headings of chapters include: ‘Shaky Ground: The Queen is Dead, the Monarchy Faces Trouble’, ‘The Fall of Prince Andrew: Scandal, Shame and Silencing Jane Doe’, ‘Race and the Royals: Institutional Bigotry and Denial’, ‘Gloves On: Prince William, Heir to the Throne’, and ‘Gloves Off: Prince Harry, Man on a Mission’.

Meghan Markle has been accused of “tipping off” paparazzi in order to “stage” pictures.

The Duchess of Sussex was recently snapped smiling at cameras as she browsed around her local farmers market with her beloved beagle and her security guard, further fuelling the rumours that the paparazzi had been “tipped off”.

However, a photographer has now slammed these claims – reports the Mirror.

The mum-of-two was pictured during the outing by photographer Jill Ishkanian who defended the Duchess claiming she “absolutely does not” tip off on her whereabouts.

Jill said: “No one calls me, trust me. I have absolutely no support, I do everything by myself. It’s a total pain in the butt when you get their picture to be totally honest.”

The photographer also revealed that she managed to see Meghan at the farmers’ market after attempting to capture snaps of Katy Perry’s father.

“I saw a pink and white striped golf cart with Katy Perry’s dad holding flowers standing next to it talking to someone,” she said.

She continued explaining how she believed Meghan was speaking to Katy’s father but only knew for sure when she was Meghan’s bodyguard.

Speaking to Newsweek about how she managed to get a snap of Meghan, the photographer said she decided to use her phone instead of her long-lens camera.

“I picked up my iPhone, I knew if I picked up a big camera, she’s trouble,” Jill added.

It isn’t the first time Meghan has been claimed to have set up paparazzi shots, with one book claiming she leaked information to the press before joining the Royal Family – however, her ‘tip-off’s’ all changed after meeting Harry.

Finding Freedom, written by Carolyn Durand and Omid Scobie, claimed: “While Meghan, before she met Harry, had occasionally set up a paparazzi photo here and there or let info slip out to the press, she did everything in her power to protect the privacy of her relationship with the prince.

“She knew that keeping things quiet meant that they could get to know each other without pressure of further worries that came from reporters covering and commenting on their burgeoning romance.”

The authors claimed Meghan was “relieved” when the media eventually found out about her relationship with Harry after being forced to keep it a secret from her family and friends.

The Mirror has approached Meghan’s representatives for comment.

Kate Middleton’s ‘strict instruction’ from Prince William to Harry revealed by lip reader

Prince William and Kate Middleton were seen chatting with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle after a service for the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee, with a lip reader revealing what the brothers said to one another.

In recent years, sightings of Prince William and Prince Harry together at Royal events have been few and far between.

However, in June 2022, nearly two years ago, the feuding brothers managed to set their differences aside to pay tribute to their late grandmother, the Queen, during her Platinum Jubilee celebrations.

This marked Harry and his wife Meghan’s first public appearance at a Royal event since they stepped down from Royal duties, reports the Mirror.

Despite uniting for the occasion, the brothers were seated a considerable distance apart and were not observed conversing or even standing next to each other. The strained service was also attended by William’s wife, Kate.

Following the service, the couple were spotted engaging in conversation on the cathedral steps as they awaited their car to transport them to a lunch reception at the Guildhall. A lipreader has now disclosed what he believes they said during this exchange, which included a distinct directive from William to Kate.

Lip reading expert John Cassidy suggests that upon exiting onto the steps, Kate commented on the service, stating: “It went very well, very well”, to which William responded: “Yes, perfect.”

Subsequently, William was seen greeting the crowd with a wave and, according to Mr Cassidy, the prince then instructed Kate: “Wait for that to move, then we can go.”

Meanwhile, a body language expert who observed the Royal brothers at the same event has suggested that Prince William gave Prince Harry “the opposite of an acknowledgement” and used a “barrier gesture”. Body language specialist Judi James spoke to the Mirror about William’s actions as he and Kate passed by the pew where Harry was seated on their way to their seats.

Judi described: “Harry looked firmly resigned to the back row here and was not sitting behind his brother as he was for the last service of remembrance. “Harry’s expression did suggest some relief as he joked with Zara as he searched for his car on the way out and he threw a wide, open-mouthed grin in her direction from the pews, but otherwise he fell into a haunted eye expression with some rapid blinking to suggest inner anxiety, leaning in and down to Meghan when she spoke as though keen to get some support.

“There was the opposite to an acknowledgement from William as he walked past Harry’s row during the parade out of the service. Sucking in his lips and with his chin pulled up in a gesture of resolve he appeared to turn his head in the other direction for a moment, raising his order of service high in a barrier gesture.”

Following the Jubilee in summer 2022, Princes William and Harry found themselves united once more due to the passing of their beloved grandmother, the Queen. Alongside their wives, Kate and Meghan, they participated in a joint walkabout in Windsor, acknowledging floral tributes and greeting throngs of well-wishers.

However, despite this apparent temporary ceasefire, it seems their relationship has further soured in the wake of Harry and Meghan’s Netflix series and Harry’s contentious memoir, ‘Spare’.

Meghan Markle slammed by Nigeria’s First Lady over stars flaunting ‘nakedness, everywhere’

Meghan Markle has been heavily criticised by the First Lady of Nigeria for flaunting her “nakedness everywhere” during her recent visit to the African country.

The Duchess of Sussex spent three days in Nigeria earlier this month, where she was accompanied by her husband Prince Harry. Meghan made a number of outfit changes during the trip and it seems her fashion was taken as an insult by First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu.

She gave a speech at an event to mark President Bola Tinubu’s one year in office. During the talk, the First Lasy spoke about how women have made significant contributions to society and made a sly dig about Meghan.

Addressing the crowds, she said: “The message here is we have to salvage our children. We see the way they dress. They keep forgetting that Nigeria, we are beautiful. You can see what they showcase on the stage, I said, ‘We are fashionable, we see what is going on’.

“We are not having the Met Gala. And everyone, the nakedness, is just everywhere and the men are well-clothed. So we have to do something. Tell them we don’t accept nakedness in our culture. That is not beautiful. It’s not beautiful at all.

“And they’re all beautiful girls, but they should be confident in who they are. They do not want to mimic and try to emulate film stars from America. They don’t know where they come from. Why did Meghan come here looking for Africa? That is something we have to take home with. We know who we are. Don’t lose who you are.”

A clip of the speech has been shared on X, formerly known as Twitter, with one person writing: “Meghan Markle managed to create an international incident! We warned her about the clothes.” Another said: “I agree with the First Lady.”

A third person posted: “She should really respect other people culture and should apologise to the country.” However, others didn’t believe the First Lady was actually hitting out at the Duchess of Sussex.

One person wrote: “The message is not for her. Stop giving yourself a headache because of her,” while another said: “She’s talking about Nigerian girls dressing like the Kardashians. She even said look at Meghan that came here, implying even M was interested in the country. She was talking in praise. Letting girls know they can be proud of their country. Stop twisting het words.”

King Charles’ strange nickname for Meghan Markle revealing true feelings about duchess

Members of ‘the Firm’ are known for often bestowing some unusual nicknames on one another – and it seems King Charles has his own for Meghan Markle.

Meghan Markle has had a very public ongoing feud with the royal family since she – and Prince Harry – decided to step down as working royals in 2020.

According to reports, her relationship with King Charles could be one of the rockiest within ‘the Firm’, as the monarch’s bond with his son and daughter-in-law is believed to be near rock bottom.

However, their relationship hasn’t always been fragile, with the King initially said to have been blown away when he first met Harry’s then-girlfriend, reports the Mirror.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex got married on May 19 2018, and at the time, Charles agreed to accompany Meghan down the aisle – as her own father was unable to attend the ceremony.

Prior to their wedding, a royal insider came forward to reveal the special nickname the-then Prince of Wales had bestowed on his future daughter-in-law.

According to royal expert Katie Nicholl, who penned the book The New Royals, Charles reportedly admired Meghan’s strength of character and gave her a very fitting nickname.

Nicholl wrote: “Charles reportedly nicknamed his future daughter-in-law ‘Tungsten’ because of her toughness and resilience.”

A source told the Mail on Sunday at the time: “Prince Charles admires Meghan for her strength and the backbone she gives Harry, who needs a tungsten-type figure in his life as he can be a bit of a softy. It’s become a term of endearment.”

And whilst it may be a slightly more bizarre nickname given to one of the members of the royal family, it isn’t the strangest.

The late Queen had a range of nicknames that were used by her nearest and dearest, from ‘cabbage’ and ‘sausage’ to ‘Gan Gan’ and even ‘Lilibet’ – but there is one pet name that tops all of these.

According to the Daily Mail, while a young Prince William was playing at Buckingham Palace, he wandered off and called out for help. But instead of shouting for ‘Granny’, he called for ‘Gary’- much to the confusion of everyone present.

The column reports: “A guest who went to help asked who Gary was, assuming it must be a member of the royal household. ‘I’m Gary,’ responded the Queen. ‘He hasn’t learned to say Granny yet.’”

William was also given numerous nicknames over the years.

In 1983, at 10 months old, he joined his parents on his first royal tour to Australia. While he was there it was revealed that his mother had started calling him ‘Wombat’.

In an NBC interview in 2007, William admitted to being stuck with the name, “I can’t get rid of it now,” he said. “It began when I was two. I’ve been rightfully told because I can’t remember back that far, but when we went to Australia with our parents, and the wombat, you know, that’s the local animal, so I just basically got called that, not because I look like a wombat, or maybe I do.”

Meghan Markle gave birth to 7lb 11oz Lilibet “Lili” Diana Mountbatten-Windsor in the US in 2021, marking another historic moment for the Royal Family.

As Prince Archie’s younger sister, the pair have grown up together, however, there was one key difference between her birth and that of her brother’s in 2019, reports the Mirror.

Meghan and Harry stepped down as working royals in 2020, shocking the world when they relocated to America, where the former Suits actress was born and raised.

Despite their estrangement, Harry retained his place in the line of succession which means Lili is now seventh-in-line following Queen Elizabeth’s death last year.

Their relocation meant Princess Lilibet now shares something in common with a relative who is 54th in line – seven-year-old Maud Windsor.

Both are the only people in line to the throne who were born in the US.

Maud was born in Los Angeles in 2013 to Lord Frederick and Sophie Winkelman. Lord Frederick is the son of the Queen’s cousin Prince Michael of Kent and grew up in Kensington Palace next to Prince Harry and Prince William.

Sophie – who is known as Lady Frederick Windsor – is a British actress known best for starring as Big Suze in Peep Show.

When Maud was born she was the 42nd in line but following the birth of other royal members including Archie, Prince Louis and Princess Charlotte she has been bumped down nine places.

Her family moved back to the UK prior to her younger sister Isabella’s birth and she attended the same school as Prince George before he and his family moved to Windsor.

Maud acted as bridesmaid for Princess Eugenie’s wedding to Jack Brooksbank.

The first six places currently in line to the throne were not affected by Lilibet’s birth – the Prince of Wales, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, Prince Louis, Harry, and Archie Mountbatten-Windsor.

But the Duke of York, who was born second in line in 1960, has now moved down to eighth. His youngest, Princess Eugenie, has fallen out of the top 10 to become 11th in line, and her son August has moved to 12th place, the Duke of Edinburgh to 14th place and Anne, the Princess Royal to 17th.

Harry demands ‘an apology’ from royal family and won’t reach peace without one

The Duke of Sussex is still hoping the royal family will issue ‘an apology’ to Meghan Markle for the way she was treated – and he is unlikely to reconcile with them until she receives it, according to an expert.

Prince Harry is still determined to have his royal relatives apologise to his wife Meghan Markle for the way they treated her after their marriage.

The Duke of Sussex’s relationship with the institution has hit an all time low in recent years, with experts believing it could take years before a proper reconciliation happens.

While Harry has proved he is willing to set aside their differences to support his family on special occasions such as his father King Charles’ Coronation earlier this year, he and Meghan are not expected to join the monarch and other senior royals to mark the first anniversary of the late Queen’s death next month.

Relations between Harry and ‘the Firm’ are still believed to be at an all time low following the release of his bombshell memoir Spare earlier this year.

Royal author Gareth Russell confessed he would he be left “stunned” to see the Duke and Duchess of Sussex reunite with the royal family for the occasion and added that ending the feud between them could only be possible once Harry receives his apology, the Express reports.

Russell said: “We don’t know if the invitation was sent out. I would be quite surprised if Harry and his wife, Meghan Markle would’ve accepted it.

“We know that they had declined the invitation to visit when Elizabeth was still alive.

“So, I can’t imagine them saying yes to an invitation now for no other reason than nothing really has changed in the dynamic in this family.”

Speaking to US Weekly, the author added: ” Prince Harry allegedly still wants and expects a full apology and ‘Recollections may vary,’ continues to be the royal’s perspective on things as much as we can tell.

“So no, I suppose we’ll find out one way or the other someday, whether they were invited, but I would be stunned if they had said yes and went to it.”

Details of the family’s plans to commemorate the Queen on September 8 have not been confirmed but the King and Prince William are believed to still be working on marking the sombre occasion with the right level of gravitas.

One source told the publication: “The wounds still feel fresh and it’s been hard for them to find a way for a celebration that will match the gravitas the Queen exuded.

“On September 8 there will be some acknowledgement or event, [but] the details are still being ironed out.”

They added that Charles would likely “reflect in solitude” while William and Kate will take the lead on the day of the anniversary.

But they also suggested that Meghan and Harry are unlikely to be offered an invite to their celebrations despite the Sussexes being scheduled to be in Europe for two weeks at the same time.

Russell opined that the anniversary is likely to be the last major opportunity that could bring Harry and Meghan together again with the royal family for years to come.

He added: “I don’t think we’ll see a great deal of interaction between the Sussexes and the rest of the royal family for quite some time.

“I can’t think of a really big royal event that’s coming up in the next couple of years. There’s obviously no coronation, no wedding — as far as we know — [and] no christenings.

“Even those really big events were not enough to completely reunite the family. We didn’t see all of the Sussexes at the Coronation.”

Harry and Meghan stepped down as senior royals in 2020 and moved to Montecito, California in a bid to start a new life. Since then, the couple have had a tumultuous few years and made several bombshell accusations against the royal family.

Bethany’s attack comes after Harry and Meghan were dropped from their Spotify deal and their Netflix series failed to secure an Emmy nomination.

Bethany continued: “I almost feel badly, like I think I do feel badly, because I can’t imagine having so much at your fingertips and letting it all slip away because of living inside your own head.

“And thinking every single thing that you do and say and want is so fascinating that you should be accepting awards at podiums around the world. Why?”

Meghan Markle planning Hollywood comeback because she ‘likes being famous’

Meghan Markle is reported to have spent the summer planning a project which will help her ‘rise like a phoenix from the ashes’.

Meghan Markle is planning a comeback to Hollywood because she “likes being famous” according to a well placed insider.

There have been various reports of a planned change in direction for the Duchess of Sussex, who has been said to be working on individual projects and a commercial venture in the public eye once again. There have been more pictures popping up of the former Suits actress appearing in selfies with pals and being snapped making her way about her Montecito neighbourhood in California over the past few weeks than ever.

Now Page Six is reporting she’s been spending the summer months planning a “phoenix-like rise from the ashes” after a “brutal” few months for her and husband Prince Harry.

According to a source who has “knowledge from their time with Spotify”, Meghan is now well and truly ready to ditch any calls for privacy from the media and wants to throw herself head first into developing more projects to boost her popularity, while Harry is slightly different.

The source told Page 6: “Harry has made it clear that he never wanted to be in the media…he would be very happy to go away. I think he’d like to go and live in Botswana – as long as he had money.

“Meghan actually likes being famous.”

The couple’s “brutal” few months started with the car-chase across New York which they said was a high-speed race through Manhattan which put their lives in danger, but was questioned by a police statement which seemed to dispute their dramatic claims.

Then came Spotify’s shock axe of their multi-million deal and the end of Meghan’s Archetypes podcast after just one series. And then came an onslaught from industry high-flyers including Spotify executive Bill Simmons, who called them “f**** grifters”, as well as United Talent Agency CEO Jeremy Zimmer, who said of the cancellation: “Turns out Meghan Markle was not a great audio talent, or necessarily any kind of talent.” However it was later claimed by sources that UTA had been pursuing Markle.

But, as Page Six reports, there’s a new direction seemingly coming from Meghan as she plans her next move. Her Instagram account @Meghan has 72,000 followers and climbing and the recent addition of Suits has broken viewing records for Netflix – a feat that wasn’t achieved by Harry&Meghan the documentary.

A source told Page Six: “Meghan’s not seeking out opportunities to be photographed, but she’s realised she has to live her life, none of the cameras are going away.”

As well as being snapped shopping at a farmers market in Montecito, Meghan has been reported to have gone to see Barbie at the cinema with celeb pals including neighbour Portia De Rossi, enjoyed a Taylor Swift concert, several dinners that have been caught on camera by fans, and was featured in a casual selfie with friends, poet Cleo Wade and hair stylist Kadi Lee, in the past few weeks.

And this all comes as she’s reportedly finishing up her “new project” after signing with Hollywood powerbroker Ari Emmanuel – rumoured to be a revamp of ‘The Tig’ – Meghan’s now defunct lifestyle blog which she shut down after meeting Prince Harry – to rival Gwyneth Paltrow’s Goop or even a production company.

“Meghan and the team are working hard,” another insider told Page Six. “I think it will be surprising, it won’t be what everybody is expecting it to be, it will feel familiar to who Meghan is.”
