Meghan Markle has been warned against publishing a tell-all memoir as it would involve including a “negative sentiment” and, in turn, worsen her already frosty connection with the Royal Family, it has been claimed.

According to reports, the Duchess of Sussex, 42, is rumoured to be following her husband and putting together a tell-all memoir. The rumours started swirling last year after Harry released his book Spare in January 2023.

After stepping back from their royal roles and relocating to the US, Harry and Meghan signed a lucrative book deal with Penguin Random House.

The deal is said to include four books as part of their contract, with two already on bookshelves and two more said to be in the works, writes The Mirror.

In June 2021, Meghan’s first book, children’s book The Bench, was released and Prince Harry has already penned his shocking and scathing memoir Spare.

Rumours are also swirling that the pair are working on a third book together, a wellness book, with the fourth rumoured to be a memoir by Meghan – although this has not been confirmed.

However, there have been claims that Prince Harry wants to “put an end to her plans” for a memoir so that he can reconcile with his family in the UK, whom he has been estranged from for several years now.

PR expert Ryan McCormick spoke exclusively to our sister paper The Mirror, he said: “From a PR perspective, I think Harry made the right decision in kiboshing Meghan’s new book which could have strained the relationship with his family even further.”

He added: “Would another book by Meghan revealing new tales from Buckingham Palace be successful? I think it will be in the short term. However, in the long term, I can see it fanning the flames of negative sentiment towards Meghan.”

Speaking to New magazine, the source explained: “They eventually compromised so that Meghan could work on a book about female empowerment.” The source said Meghan’s book will focus on her work championing women, instead of “taking fresh swipes at the Royal Family.”

John Lennon ‘s son has brutally branded Prince Harry an “idiot” who “deserves to be mocked” in a social media rant.

Sean Ono Lennon, 48, sparked outrage among royal fans after posting a scathing joke about Harry’s memoir, ‘Spare’, which was published in January 2023. The country musician wrote on X, formerly called Twitter : “My long-awaited review of Prince Harry’s autobiography is two words. ‘Spare Me.’”

After being criticised by several fans of Harry, the musician doubled down on his criticism, mentioning the “todger” episode that Harry wrote about in his book – in which the Duke of Sussex recalled how he treated his frostbitten penis with his late mother’s favourite lip cream. But social media users defended Harry, mentioning the tragedies he has been through, such as Princess Diana’s death when he was young.

Someone pointed out that the musician and Harry have a lot in common, he mentioned he met Harry once before going on to describe him as “an idiot”. He stated: “Actually I am aware [that we have things in common]. We met once. That was before I realised he was an idiot.”

The Oscar winner then defended his initial post as he explained: “It was a pun. But he deserves to be mocked after that todger episode. He’ll be fine.” But after many on social media rallied in support of the duke, also pointing out that his memoir became a best-seller shortly after publication, Lennon addressed Harry’s past tragedies, saying: “That is very sad. I don’t hold any of that against him. It’s the stupidity that bothers me.”

He added: “Just because I made a joke does not mean I don’t empathise with him. I do actually. Also why I’m very disappointed with his outlook. I was hoping he’d be smarter.”

Lennon replied to another fan: “I do empathise with him generally. But the way he whines and wangs on about things is really too much.” He then said: “I’m just having a little fun. I think he’s earned some mockery. (I’m sure I have as well).”

Harry’s memoir was the best-selling book in the UK for last year. From accusing Prince William of hitting him to opening up about losing his virginity to an older woman in a field – Harry didn’t hold anything back. Royal family members were not painted in the best light in Harry’s book.

The Duke of Sussex claimed that William and his then-girlfriend Kate Middleton encouraged him to dress up in a Nazi uniform for a fancy dress party, an outfit that would draw extreme criticism. Other revelations in Harry’s memoir include how he was against Charles marrying Camilla and thought of her as the “wicked stepmother” at the time.

He also accused the future queen of having a “long-term strategy, a campaign directed at marriage and with time, the Crown (with the blessing of our father, we supposed).” According to The Bookseller, Harry’s memoir sold more than 700,000 copies. This was about 180,000 more than the second best-selling book, The Last Devil to Die by Richard Osman.

Richard Osman had three other books appear in the top 20 – The Bullet That Missed, The Thursday Murder Club, and The Man Who Died Twice. Colleen Hoover, a romance author beloved by BookTok, the readers of TikTok, had three of her books appear in the top 20 as well.

When Prince Harry and Meghan Markle last brought their children Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet to the UK, they had their final meeting with the late Queen – but according to an expert, the monarch turned down one thing

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will be celebrating their daughter Princess Lilibet’s third birthday today.

And her celebrations will probably look a lot different to her first birthday two years ago when she celebrated in the UK. Her birthday coincided with the late Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations and she along with big brother Prince Archie and their parents came to Britain for the event.

During the trip, the Queen got to meet her 11th great-grandchild and namesake Lilibet for the first time and was reunited with Archie after not seeing him for years. It was at this meeting that both Harry and Meghan were thought to be keen to get an official snap of great-grandmother and great-grandchild.

But according to The Sun, the Sussexes were told “no chance” when they asked the monarch’s permission. Meanwhile, writing in The Telegraph, royal expert Camilla Tominey claims Harry was “persistent” in wanting a photo to be taken. She says: “When the couple made another beeline for Windsor Castle, travelling straight there after landing at Farnborough Airport, she refused their request to have professional photographs taken with Archie, three, and her namesake Lilibet, one.

“Claiming she had a bloodshot eye, she adroitly denied the Sussexes the photo opportunity they craved. Harry was ‘persistent’, according to those party to the meeting, expressing a desire to get an official snap of the two Lilibets together at some point in the future. But of course, it was never to be. She died three months later.”

Lilibet as well as Archie are both growing up in California out of the spotlight – for the most part. Fans of Harry and Meghan don’t get much insight into what life is like in California for the two young royal children, but every so the Sussexes will let a sweet detail about their kids slip out as they go about their public work.

When Meghan and Harry recently travelled to Nigeria to strengthen international ties in the Invictus Games community, they went without their two children, but while they were visiting Meghan revealed a sweet detail about what Lilibet’s childhood is like behind closed doors.

Meghan revealed the rare insight during a visit to the Lightway Academy in Abuja, which has been given some funding by the Sussexes’ Archewell Foundation. The couple chatted with pupils from the Academy’s Kindergarten class, who performed a song and dance for the visiting royals.

“Is singing and dancing your favourite class?” Harry asked the children, with Meghan adding: “That’s Lili’s favourite class, maybe it’s all the jumping around.” Later she also revealed that one of Archie’s current interests is construction, after learning about some of the pupil’s interests in electronics.

Lilibet was born on June 4, 2021, at the Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital in Santa Barbara, California. A statement said at the time: “Lili is named after her great-grandmother, Her Majesty The Queen, whose family nickname is Lilibet. Her middle name, Diana, was chosen to honour her beloved late grandmother, The Princess of Wales.”

She was christened at Harry and Meghan’s home in March 2023 by the Archbishop of Los Angeles, the Rev John Taylor. Among those at the intimate gathering were said to be Meghan’s mother Doria Ragland, Lilibet’s godfather Tyler Perry and an unnamed godmother – although none of her royal relatives were at the service.

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s comeback plan has backfired after their recent controversial public outings have come at a hard time for the Royal Family, according to an insider.

The Duke of Sussex attended Hollywood’s Living Legends of Aviation Awards earlier this month where his “weird” behaviour at the event left his team “holding heads in hands.”

During the glitzy ceremony, Harry made an unexpected quip about his father King Charles but made no comment on the monarch’s recent health battle.

The duchess made the wise decision to skip the event as she stayed at home to care for their two children who had taken ill.

However, just days later, the former Suits actress was at her husband’s side as they jetted out to Jamaica to attend the film premiere of the new Bob Marley film, the Mirror reports.

The couple raised eyebrows when they were seen cosying up to the Jamaican Prime Minister who has publicly made it clear that he wants his country to sever ties with the British monarchy.

The Sussexes surprise appearance came as King Charles received treatment for an enlarged prostate while Kate Middleton is also recovering from abdominal surgery.

Harry and Meghan did not publicly send their well wishes to either relative and it’s now been reported that the Royal Family are taking their recent outings as “yet another slap in the face”.

An insider told Heat Magazine: “They were already stinging from the criticism Harry got after the Aviation Awards, so she’d hoped this appearance would calm down the negativity.

“Instead, they’re being accused of insensitivity and even betrayal, which she believes is vindictive and ridiculous, given that they left the royal family ages ago and have every right to associate with whoever they like.

“But the view inside the royal family is that this is yet another example of them being tone-deaf.”

The duke’s explosive memoir Spare caused major tension between him and his already estranged family last year as he made some serious accusations against the monarch and his older brother Prince William.

Despite the success of the book, his attacks on his own blood have not won him any support from royal fans in recent months.

It was reported that the couple were planning on reconciling with the Royal Family this year after hearing the news of Kate and Charles’ poor health but their relationships are far from repaired.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have sent a very “clear signal to the Palace” with an intentional move, it has been claimed.

After stepping down from their royal roles in 2020, The royal couple were both stripped of their HRH titles. It has now been reported that their monikers could be stripped even further, as they could lose their remaining Duke and Duchess titles, according to Sarah Vine.

Writing for her Daily Mail column, Sarah discussed Sussexes recent trip to Jamaica, where they attended the Bob Marley: One Love film premiere. They were even spotted with the country’s Prime Minister Andrew Holness and his wife, the Mirror reports.

The current Prime Minister of Jamaica has long criticised the country’s relationship with the Commonwealth and the British monarchy. He even formally announced plans for the country to become an independent republic in 2022.

Weighing in on this, Sarah Vine wrote: “By choosing to break cover in such vehemently anti-monarchist company, the Duke and Duchess appear to be sending a very clear signal to the Palace.

“It appears to me that they intend to use their royal connection to undermine both the individual reputations of members of the Royal Family and that of the institution as a whole. I hope that I am wrong.”

She then went on to add that the couple are “helping to fuel anti-royalist sentiment throughout the Commonwealth and elsewhere.”

This came after the couple attended the Bob Marley film premiere in Jamaica last week, with the duo putting on a united display as they posed for photos on the red carpet after they were invited to the star-studded event by Paramount Pictures and their CEO Brian Robbins.

Speculation has been rife that Meghan Markle plans to return to her previous career but she was once asked outright and she had a very blunt reply.

Meghan Markle was already well known when she joined the Royal Family thanks to her successful career as an actress. The star appeared in legal drama Suits for seven series as Rachel Zane, but famously stepped down from her previous career when she married Prince Harry in 2018.

Since the Duke and Duchess announced their decision to leave royal working life and settle in the US, there has been much speculation about Meghan’s future plans and whether or not she’ll return to Hollywood.

But when she was asked about the topic previously, she gave a very blunt response, as writes the Mirror.

During an interview with Vanity Fair just after Queen Elizabeth’s death in October 2022, Meghan was questioned about her old job.

She said: “I left Suits right after the 100th episode, in 2018. I didn’t think I’d ever be in the entertainment industry again. But the entire culture has changed; streamers have changed things. The ability to create zeitgeist moments like we had in the ’90s — where everyone would tune in at the same time for a show or gather for one moment? — that doesn’t happen anymore.

“When I was doing Suits, that character, Rachel Zane, was in your living room with you while you were in your pyjamas eating Chinese takeout. “That’s how connected the experience felt then. But to create a cultural moment or conversation requires something different today.

“Podcasting has been really interesting in that way. It might be one of the only remaining forums where people are alone to listen. Where else do you have that opportunity?”

Then when she was directly asked if she planned to go back to acting, Meghan replied: “No. I’m done. I guess never say never, but my intention is to absolutely not.”

Meanwhile, Netflix chief content officer Bela Bajaria recently declared the couple are working on a “couple of unscripted things” with the streaming platform, who they have a contract with until 2025.

When asked as she attended a Hollywood event what was next for Harry and Meghan, Bela said: “Oh, what are they working on? They have a couple of unscripted things they’re working on with Brandon.”

She added: “And they actually have, like, a bunch of development, they have a movie in development, a (scripted) series that they’re working on. So all very early development, with a movie, a TV show and a couple of unscripted shows. But yeah, the movie’s great.”

Online post, media misleadingly claim Nigeria’s first lady criticised Meghan’s choice of clothes

The visit of Prince Harry and his wife Meghan Markle to Nigeria in May elicited a flurry of media attention. It also sparked disinformation when a YouTuber suggested that a video showed Nigeria’s First Lady Oluremi Tinubu berating the Duchess of Sussex for dressing indecently during her trip to the West African country.

But the claim, which made international headlines, is misleading: Tinubu’s comments were aimed at young Nigerian women in her televised speech. The first lady’s office told AFP Fact Check she had not criticised “Meghan’s dressing”. The TV station that filmed the speech and whose footage was shown in the YouTuber’s post, also denied that Tinubu had reprimanded Markle.

“Meghan Markle managed to create an international incident! We warned her about the clothes,” reads a post shared on X on May 25, 2024.

A screenshot of the misleading claim, taken on May 29, 2024
It features a 1’14” clip of Nigerian First Lady Oluremi Tinubu speaking at an event.

It also contains two photos: one shows Markle, the Duchess of Sussex, wearing a patterned halter-neck gown. In the other, she is seen in a dress with spaghetti straps, holding Prince Harry’s hand as they walk together.

The caption includes disparaging hashtags directed at Markle.

The post has received nearly 3,000 likes and more than 350 reshares.

It was shared by Nancy Sidley-Sussex, one half of a US online duo called the Sidley Twins who run a YouTube channel discussing “pop culture” and “Royal gossip” (archived here). Their feed, which boasts more than 50,000 subscribers, features numerous clips critical of Markle.

News outlets around the world, including British media, picked up Sidley-Sussex’s X post.

UK tabloid The Sun ran a story with the headline “Meghan Markle is blasted by Nigeria’s First Lady over her ‘nakedness’ during ‘faux royal visit’ to the country” (archived here). Other examples can be found here, here, here and here.

The claim surfaced after Markle and Prince Harry visited Nigeria in May to promote his Invictus Games (archived here).

During the trip, Meghan spoke at an event for women in leadership with Nigerian-born World Trade Organization director Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala.

The Duchess discussed her Nigerian heritage – referring to the West African nation as “my country” – and being a role model for women.

“I think, being African-American, part of it is not really knowing so much about your genealogy, background, where you came from specifically,” Meghan told the audience on May 10, 2024 (archived here).

“It was exciting…to discover more and what that (having Nigerian heritage) really means.”

A few days later, Nigeria’s first lady held an address celebrating her husband Bola Tinubu’s first year in office and discussed the importance of “good morals” and “cultural values” (archived here).

However, the claim that she criticised Meghan’s choice of clothing is misleading.

    ‘Meghan’s Nigerian Heritage’

In her speech, seen in the clip shared by Sidley-Sussex, Tinubu reprimanded young Nigerian women for dressing indecently, accusing them of mimicking “film stars from America” who “don’t know where they came from” (archived here).

She then said that Markle had visited Nigeria “looking for Africa” to understand her identity and where she came from.

The first lady did not comment on the Duchess’s attire. Tinubu’s office also said her comments had been taken out of context.

“She meant Meghan appreciates the people we are and hence her coming here,” the office said in an email to AFP Fact Check.

“At no point did she say anything about Meghan’s dressing.”

Arise News, whose clip was used in the misleading post, also rejected the claim.

The footage shows Tinubu commenting that Markle “came looking for her roots,” the broadcaster told AFP Fact Check.

Meghan Markle reportedly ‘won’t be pleased’ after her father sent his support to King Charles, according to a royal expert.

King Charles is stepping down from his royal duties for the time being after he was diagnosed with cancer, reports the Express. Many people have sent their well-wishes to the monarch following this saddening news – including Thomas Markle.

Thomas told the Daily Mail: “I want to send my best wishes to King Charles and hope he gets well very soon. I wish him all the good wishes in the world.”

The Duchess of Sussex is unlikely to be rather impressed by her dad’s comments given how damaged their relationship has become. Speaking to the Daily Mirror, PR expert Ryan McCormick said: “I would imagine that Meghan would not be pleased at her father making a public gesture of well wishes to Charles.

“This doesn’t make the Duchess of Sussex look good and it re-hashes Markle’s dirty laundry pertaining to family affairs.”

Meghan Markle could land in hot water over lack of 'concern' for King Charles

Meghan’s relationship with her father has been strained since 2018 after Thomas staged paparazzi photos before the Sussexes’ wedding He then agreed to multiple interviews to the media and released a private letter from his daughter to the press as well.

In 2020, Thomas made a documentary called ‘Thomas Markle: My Story’, in which he was extremely critical of his daughter. Harry also doesn’t have a particularly great relationship with his father either after he exited from his royal duties in 2020.

The Duke did indeed travel to the UK to see his father following the news of his cancer diagnosis.

Meghan Markle appears to be wearing a different engagement ring to the one Prince Harry first proposed to her with back in November 2017 after he popped the question at Kensington Palace around seven years ago now.

The Duke of Sussex reportedly asked the former Suits actress to be his wife on a blanket in Kensington Palace’s north garden, surrounded by electric candles. However the Duchess appears to be wearing a now different ring.

The original two diamond ring Harry gave her when he proposed to his now wife featured precious stones which came from his late mother Princess Diana’s collection and one from Botswana.

They sat beautifully on the rings thick gold band, but it appears the piece of jewellery has been significantly redesigned and the diamonds now take residence and a much thinner band.

However it’s unclear according to the Mirror when and where the alteration took place – if it was whilst the former working royals resided in the UK or after they dropped their royal duties and moved across to the US.

Elsewhere, Harry has made a whirlwind visit back to the UK to visit his dad King Charles for the first time in nine months after they put aside the ongoing royal feuds in the light of the monarch’s cancer news.

Upon finding out his cancer diagnosis, Charles reportedly called both his sons Harry and William to deliver the news to them personally – as well as his siblings the Princess Royal, the Duke of York and the Duke of Edinburgh.

It is believed Harry agreed to delay his visit to the UK until a public announcement was made by Buckingham Palace on Monday which confirmed King Charles will be undergoing specialist treatment for cancer, which the form of which has not been made public knowledge.

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have been embroiled in a ‘feud’ with the Royal Family since they stepped back as senior royals in 2020.

However, things between the now-estranged couple and the Firm weren’t always so tense.

The Duchess of Sussex began seeing Prince Harry in 2016 after the pair met on a blind date, with the couple tying the knot in 2018.

Prior to the shock decision to step away from the Royal Family, the pair completed various royal engagements.

During these outings, Meghan met with doting crowds, with one resurfaced clip catching the attention of fans.

The former Suits actress had her very own princess moment when she met with a young fan at the Canadian High Commission in London in 2019.

As part of the annual Commonwealth Day celebrations, the Sussexes were invited to meet the high commissioner and attend a special church service at Westminster Abbey alongside other senior royals to mark the occasion.

In pictures seen on the Mirror, Meghan can be seen bent down to meet a young boy and a girl, who gifted her a bouquet of white flowers with the young boy also giving Meghan a little bow.

Sharing the clip on TikTok, one fan wrote: “She’s the cutest.” Other fans were also loving the sweet interaction and took to the comments to share their thoughts.

“I don’t care what anyone says I like them,” one person wrote with two heart emojis. Another said: “Meghan is so queenly I swear. UK must miss her. She has elegant and class.” A third fan commented: “Harry’s pride looking at all of that,” while someone else referred to the Duchess of Sussex as “Queen Meghan”.

Sadly, Harry and Meghan’s time in the Royal Family wasn’t to last and they announced their decision to step down in 2020.

Since then, the couple have issued a number of attacks against The Firm.

In their bombshell Netflix docuseries, Harry detailed the breakdown of his relationship with his brother Prince William and claimed the Prince of Wales left him terrified after he screamed and shouted at him during the Sandringham summit.

He also took aim at his dad, King Charles and discussed the tense Megxit crisis meeting held with the Queen in January 2020.
