King Charles has spoken about his cancer journey as part of this year’s Stand Up To Cancer campaign.

The campaign is run by Cancer Research UK and Channel 4.

The king’s video message aired on Friday, December 12, at 8pm on Channel 4.

This has marked one of the few times King Charles has spoken about his cancer since revealing his diagnosis in February 2024.

According to the BBC, the message was recorded at Clarence House two weeks ago.

In his message, the king said: “I know from my own experience that a cancer diagnosis can feel overwhelming. Yet I also know that early detection is the key that can transform treatment journeys, giving invaluable time to medical teams – and, to their patients, the precious gift of hope.

“Throughout my own cancer journey, I have been profoundly moved by what I can only call the ‘community of care’ that surrounds every cancer patient, the specialists, the nurses, researchers and volunteers who work tirelessly to save and improve lives.

“But I have also learned something that troubles me deeply – at least nine million people in our country are not up to date with the cancer screenings available to them. That is at least nine million opportunities for early diagnosis being missed.”

He continued: “Early diagnosis quite simply saves lives. Now, I have heard this message repeatedly during my visits to cancer centres across the country.

“I know, too, what a difference it has made in my own case, enabling me to continue leading a full and active life, even while undergoing treatment.

“Indeed, today I am able to share with you the good news that thanks to early diagnosis, effective intervention and adherence to ‘doctors’ orders,’ my own schedule of cancer treatment can be reduced in the new year.

“This milestone is both a personal blessing and a testimony to the remarkable advances that have been made in cancer care in recent years; testimony that I hope may give encouragement to the 50% of us who will be diagnosed with the illness at some point in our lives.”

‘The darkest moments of illness can be illuminated by the greatest compassion’

The king also promoted the “new national Screening Checker that is available online”.

He continued: “It demystifies the process, answers your questions and guides you towards taking that crucial step. As I have observed before, the darkest moments of illness can be illuminated by the greatest compassion.

“But compassion must be paired with action. This December, as we gather to reflect on the year past, I pray that we can each pledge, as part of our resolutions for the year ahead, to play our part in helping to catch cancer early.

“Your life – or the life of someone you love – may depend on it. Therefore, this brings my most heartfelt thanks to the doctors, nurses, researchers and charity workers involved in diagnosis and treatment programmes, together with my particular good wishes to those for whom they care so selflessly.”

    Stand up to Cancer 2025

The broadcast included live reports from cancer clinics at Addenbrooke’s and Royal Papworth hospitals, along with celebrity segments designed to dismantle fear around screening.

Presenters Davina McCall, Clare Balding, and Adam Hills are among the celebrities supporting the campaign.

Everything Perrie Edwards has said about her pregnancies as fiancé Alex breaks silence on ‘difficult’ miscarriage

Perrie and Alex have been together since 2017

Little Mix star Perrie Edwards is currently pregnant again, but the star revealed a few months back that she heartbreakingly suffered a miscarriage, and now fiancé Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has broken his silence about it.

Perrie and Alex already have a son, four-year-old Axel. But the couple are currently expecting baby number two! While she has always chosen to keep her pregnancies private, Perrie did open up about the heartbreaking miscarriage she suffered before her current pregnancy, when she lost her baby at 24-weeks pregnant.

Alex hadn’t said anything about the heartbreak, but in a new interview, he opened up about the difficult loss for the very first time. But what has Perrie said about all of her pregnancies over the years? Lets have a look.

    Is Perrie Edwards pregnant?

Perrie Edwards is currently pregnant again. She announced the news back in September in an adorable Instagram video to one of her new songs.

Perrie posted a black-and-white video of herself that captured her walking from behind wearing a white T-shirt that featured the title of her latest single, If He Wanted To He Would, on the back.

When she turned around, Perrie’s t-shirt said, “…And he did!” across the front. However, that wasn’t the only thing that was displayed.

She also showed off her growing baby bump while flashing a radiant smile.

Fiancé Alex then walked over to Perrie in the clip and kissed her on the cheek before their adorable son Axel joined the happy family.

The announcement came just a few weeks after Perrie revealed her heartbreaking miscarriage during a sit-down interview with Paul Brunson.

Do Perrie and Alex have kids?

This will be baby number two for Perrie and Alex. Four years ago, they welcomed their first son Axel.

During this pregnancy, Perrie waited quite a while before announcing it to the world. And quite beautifully, she was expecting Axel at the same time bandmate Leigh-Anne was pregnant with twins.

After she made the announcement, Perrie proceeded to spend the next few months sharing baby bump updates and giving fans little glimpses into her pregnancy. On her latest album, one of the songs actually even features Axel’s heartbeat taken from a baby scan when Perrie was pregnant with him.

But it wasn’t until recently that Perrie actually revealed that Axel is also a “rainbow baby” – a term used to describe the pregnancy after a miscarriage.

Perrie recently revealed she was really “on edge” while pregnant with Axel, as she feared something going wrong.

The 32-year-old said: “When I was pregnant with him, I loved being pregnant. It was one of the happiest times of my life. I love carrying babies.

“It was so lovely. But I was on edge thinking, oh gosh, I just want to get past the 12 weeks. I then wanted to get past the next thing. And when I got past it, the pregnancy was complete bliss. It was perfect.”

    Perrie Edwards heartbreaking miscarriage revealed

For the first time ever, Perrie sat down and spoke about the highs-and-lows of her life. And the lowest of lows was when she tragically experienced two miscarriages. One before Axel, and one before her current pregnancy.

Perrie Edwards revealed in August that back in 2022, as Little Mix were preparing to go on their final tour, she was secretly pregnant.

But tragically, as the pregnancy hit the five-month mark, Perrie knew that something was wrong.

She said: “We went for what was a 20-week scan. But we were actually 22 weeks. That was just the worst day of my life. Like, horrendous.

“I just knew something was wrong in the scan. I have never had an out-of-body experience where everything goes in slow motion.”

But two weeks later, Alex and Perrie were given the heartbreaking news that there was no heartbeat.

Perrie revealed: “I remember sobbing. Alex was injured at the time and couldn’t really drive. He was struggling. But I couldn’t see straight. We lost the baby at like 24 weeks.”

She then went on to reveal that it wasn’t her first miscarriage. Before she had Axel she suffered one very early in her first ever pregnancy.

“I had a miscarriage very early on in my first-ever pregnancy. I remember finding out I was pregnant. Obviously, I started bleeding not long after that. When I went to the hospital for a scan they were like: ‘There is no baby.’ And I just thought, oh have I made this up. Maybe it was a false positive.”

The ‘worst part’ of Perrie’s miscarriage

Speaking to Glamour, a month after she revealed the tragedy, and that she was pregnant, Perrie Edwards opened up on the aftermath.

Perrie told the outlet: “It felt like it came out of nowhere. Every scan we had before had been fine. We just weren’t expecting to go into the 22-week scan and for our world to just crumble.”

But the “worst part” came a few days later – as Perrie’s body still was preparing for a baby.

She revealed: “A few days later, I remember being in the shower and my milk came in. I remember just going out of the room like ‘Mam!’ and she was like ‘What? What happened?’ and I told her ‘I’ve got milk’.

“I just wasn’t expecting it. I was devastated. That was the worst bit. My body was prepared for the baby. But the baby was gone.”

Has Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain spoken about Perrie Edwards miscarriage?

Until yesterday (December 11) Alex hadn’t spoken about the baby loss they faced. But in a new interview with The Athletic, the football admitted it was a “difficult” time.

He explained: “It is so difficult. Especially for women, they are literally growing another human being inside them. The connection they feel. Then things can go wrong and they can lose the baby.

“It is so difficult. Especially losing the baby so late into the pregnancy. It definitely helped that we had Axel to focus on. But it was obviously difficult.”

Alex went on to admit that it took him and Perrie “a while” before they decided to try again. He also admitted that he found “as a man” he tried to “put on a brave face and hold the fort”. But six months later, he bumped into a footballer he hadn’t seen in a while who asked him about the baby, which caused some “discomfort”.

But now that Alex isn’t currently signed to a club after the left Turkey to move home, he is able to get “excited” for the new baby.

“It’s nice to be at home with Perrie these past few months. And to have this time with Axel. He’s so excited about his new brother or sister. We all are.”

After such a horrible tragedy, we are so glad that Perrie and Alex have some happiness coming their way!

Using the term “Operation Stop The Boats”, members of the group have been filming themselves 𝘴𝘭𝘢𝘴𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘨 small boats before they are used by migrants to cross the English Channel from France.

Posts on social media show members calling for other British men to join them in France, including making a direct appeal to football hooligans, saying “we need to make a stand”.

In one video message shared this week by a member of the Raise the Colours group – the grassroots movement that has seen flags fixed to lampposts, motorway bridges and roundabouts across England – two men are seen evoking military language and the spirit of the British fight against the Nazis in the Second World War.

Claiming to be recording from the northern French coast, one said: “Just like in the 1940s, we must take a stand, and it starts with the men of England and Britain.”

Making an appeal to “firms” – a phrase that refers to football hooligan groups – the other man added: “Our country is doing nothing. Weak government, weaker borders.

“They are doing nothing, so we need to make a stand, boys. Get the lads together, get your firms together, get the lads in the pub, get the lads down the bars, if you’re talking about it and you agree with what we are doing, give us a hand.”

The Government is under pressure to tackle the issue of migration amid a record number of asylum applications, surging small   boat crossings and protests at hotels housing asylum seekers.

On Monday, Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood set out a package of reforms to asylum policies aimed at tackling illegal migration, telling MPs the current situation is “out of control and unfair”.

The latest videos shared by those linked to the Raise the Colours group have separately been referred to as “Operation Overlord”.

Earlier clips showed two men saying they were taking matters of illegal migration into their own hands and filming themselves stamping on and smashing a small boat’s engine.

In the clips, they refer to themselves as “patriots” and make a number of claims without evidence, such as that they are stopping “rapists and murderers” from “coming to a town near you”.

One video shared by the group
The flag-raising group, who have a combined 100,000 followers on X and Instagram, also posted a plea on X for donations last week, writing that they are: “STOPPING The  Boats, whether the migrants or government like it or not!”

Two videos from the group have recently been shared to the 1.7 million X followers of Tommy Robinson. The far-right figure and former leader of the English Defence League, whose real name is Stephen Yaxley-Lennon, has previously been accused of mobilising football hooligan firms in an attempt to launch anti-Muslim rallies across the country.

Separately, French media reports that the Dunkirk Public Prosecutor’s office has opened a preliminary investigation into “aggravated violence” against migrants by suspected British far-right figures.

One of the details being examined by the French prosecutor is the claim that in September, four men waving British and UK flags verbally and physically attacked migrants on the French coast. It is alleged that they told the migrants they were not welcome in England and proceeded to steal some of their belongings.

The men are not the first anti-migrant figures to travel to France in a bid to take matters into their own hands.

Prince William was among the first to congratulate Chloe Kelly after her game-winning kick

England footballer Chloe Kelly has been nominated for the 2025 BBC Sports Personality of the Year award, and Prince William will likely be proud.

Chloe went viral over the summer after scoring the decisive penalty in England women’s nail-biting shootout victory over Spain in the Euro 2025 final.

Among her many supporters is the Prince of Wales. He witnessed the historic moment in July in Basel.

Prince William’s bond with Lioness Chloe Kelly

William, a lifelong football fan and patron of the FA, was seen warmly congratulating the Lionesses after their win, and his personal exchange with Chloe quickly captured attention.

As the team lined up to receive their winners’ medals, lip readers caught the touching words Prince William shared with Chloe.

“That kick was no nonsense,” he reportedly told her with a grin, before pulling her in for a congratulatory hug. “Well done, you. Honestly, fantastic.”

Chloe is one of six nominees for this year’s BBC Sports Personality of the Year, set to be awarded later this month.

While many believe her back-to-back heroics with the Lionesses make her the ideal winner, she faces stiff competition from Formula 1 champion Lando Norris, golfer Rory McIlroy, and rugby star Ellie Kildunne.

Also in the running are England goalkeeper Hannah Hampton and teenage darts sensation Luke Littler.

Chloe’s SPOTY nod comes in a year when women’s football has never been more in the spotlight.

The UK has recently launched a bid to host the 2035 FIFA Women’s World Cup, a project Prince William has publicly supported.

“Exciting times ahead! W,” he posted on social media after the bid was announced.

Prince William’s support for the Lionesses

The Prince of Wales has maintained a strong public presence in his support for the Lionesses.

In July, he and Princess Charlotte travelled to Switzerland for the final match. The prince beamed with pride as he handed out medals and embraced players, as Charlotte also cheered from the stands.

Speaking about the royal family’s encouragement, Lioness Lucy Bronze previously told HELLO!: “I remember when Charlotte was born. We had a little England Lionesses kit made for her.

As he got through the sentence, he began talking increasingly fast and started sounding as if he was struggling for breath. As a result, listeners took to social media to share their concerns.

However, this evening (December 12), Andrew’s agent has told ED! that he “recovered quickly”. She also revealed what had caused his breathlessness.

    Listeners worried

While some theorised the incident was due to a panic attack, others suggested it could’ve been related to a stroke Andrew suffered in 2013.

“Is Andrew Marr okay?” one concerned listener asked. “Sounded a bit like hyperventilating or a panic attack.” “Not a fan of Andrew Marr but that was an awful listen,” a second remarked. “Hope he’s okay.”

A third agreed that while they “can’t stand his politics”, the broadcast was “upsetting to listen to”.

“That sounds like a significant health issue,” a fourth remarked. Another added that it isn’t the first time it’s happened”. They added: “I’ve noticed this before! Then in the next segment, he’s fine. It’s like he calms down. He’ll be fine, I’m sure.”

    Andrew’s agent shares statement

The presenter’s agent confirmed that Andrew has had a heavy cold this week, and also said that he still feels the impact of his stroke.

She told us: “After his stroke sometimes Andrew’s left lung does not work as well as it should.” She added: “He had a heavy cold and recovered quickly.”

As listeners also pointed out, Andrew did return to air and finished his show without further issues.

    Andrew Marr on his stroke

In a 2023 interview with The Guardian, Andrew said that he has had an “incredibly good decade” since his stroke.

“I’ve been largely vertical and communicating for the past 10 years,” he quipped. “It’s been pretty good, though I’ve still got deficits: I’m hemiplegic, my left arm really doesn’t work much, my left leg only works a bit, I walk in a sort of jerky way.

“I can’t do my laces. I can’t cycle. I can’t run. I can’t swim. But I focus on what I can do, which includes painting and drawing, and I try to walk five miles a day.”

Tonight With Andrew Marr runs on LBC Monday – Thursday from 6-7 pm. Andrew is expected to return to work as normal on Monday.

“THE $100K SHOCKER”: Golden Bachelor Winner Peg Munson REVEALS Mel Owens DONATED HIS ENTIRE SALARY to Youth Sports, CONFIRMING the SECRET ACT OF CHARITY That Proves He Has a HEART OF GOLD

Golden Bachelor winner Peg Munson is shedding some light on what Bachelor Nation may not know about her boyfriend and season 2 lead, Mel Owens.

“Nobody knows a lot of things about Mel and that’s why I say you guys gotta have him on,” Peg, 62, told the “She’s All Bach” podcast on Monday, December 8. “He donated his pay to the Detroit, Michigan Youth Football team. So his pay that he got for being the Golden Bachelor, he donated that. And a lot of people don’t know that about him either, so there’s a lot more to him that everybody … they don’t know.”

Mel — a former NFL linebacker turned attorney working in sports law and disability advocacy — chose Peg and gave her a Neil Lane diamond promise ring during the Golden Bachelor finale last month. (His runner-up, Cindy Angelcyk Cullers, left the show ahead of fantasy suites after learning Mel wasn’t ready for an engagement.)

Peg further discussed her relationship with Mel, 67, on the podcast, saying he had let her know on their fantasy suite date night that there would be no proposal during the finale of the show.

“[Mel] has a lot of integrity, and so in his heart, he’s like, ‘How can I get down on one knee and propose to somebody that I barely even know?!’” Peg recalled. “And I respect that, I really do! Because I don’t want the fantasy relationship, not at 62 years old. I want the sustainable relationship.”

Peg noted that her goal was for them to grow their relationship over time and make sure it was the real deal before committing to marriage.

“I’ve learned all these things by dating and being married and going through divorces,” she explained. “It’s like, ‘OK, let me look at what works and what doesn’t work in my life.’ And when we were in the fantasy suite, we were able to really talk that out, and we were on the same page. I was like, ‘I am not interested, really, in getting engaged.’ And he said, ‘Good, me neither!’ I said, ‘I want to get to know you.’”

She also shared that the couple did not have sex during their overnight date — despite what viewers may have thought.

“He was so respectful and he didn’t even go there even a little bit. All we did was talk for 12 hours,” Peg said, before reiterating, “We did not [have sex], no. No intimacy whatsoever. He really wanted to get to know me, and he didn’t even try.”

The retired Las Vegas firefighter and bomb tech added, “For me, I wouldn’t have had physical intimacy [that night]. Because what happens for women — and I believe this — is that it clouds our judgement. Once we open up our hearts, it clouds our judgement to what’s good for us. Men are different; they can be intimate and it’s no big deal. We’re intimate, and it’s like, ‘Oh s***, it’s all over!’ So, no, I was not going to do that.”

During an exclusive interview with Us Weekly following the finale last month, Mel said he tried to respect all the women who were a part of his season.

“Not one woman told me that I disrespected them and misled them or misrepresented anything,” Mel told Us. “And, you know, maybe TV fans don’t like the sincerity or straightforwardness, but that’s what I have and that’s what I gave them. If I didn’t love them, I’m not gonna tell them.”

He added, “I’ve seen The Bachelor enough where the person told the other contestants or the other people that, ‘I love you. I love you. I love you.’ So you got three ‘I love yous’ out there and they’re all misled. And then there’s panic and heartbreak. I didn’t do that because that’s not who I am. I’d never do it outside of the show and I wouldn’t do it inside of this show. I just stay true to myself and that’s what happened.”

Since season 2 wrapped, Mel and Peg have been enjoying time together and recently celebrated Mel’s birthday in Las Vegas where they enjoyed The Wizard of Oz at The Sphere.

“Final rose may be wrapped, but I still get to keep the guy. 😉🌹,” Peg wrote via Instagram on Wednesday, December 10. “The best part of the Golden Bachelor wasn’t the cameras… it was him. 💛.”

“KAITLYN IS ALREADY REPLACED”: Jason Tartick SHOCKS Fans by going Instagram Official with Kathryn Hurley, REVEALING his NEW LOVE just months after his high-profile split

The Bachelorette alum Jason Tartick made his relationship with his new girlfriend, Kathryn Hurley, Instagram official on Friday, December 12.

Tartick, 37, shared several photos with Hurley in honor of her 34th birthday.

“From the dogs you save every day to the people whose lives you change, you make everything around you more beautiful,” he captioned the post. “Happy Birthday Kathryn!”

Us Weekly exclusively reported on November 15 that Tartick and Hurley had started dating after he adopted his dog Teddy from her nonprofit rescue center, Wags & Walks Nashville, earlier this year.

The news came three days after the couple sparked romance rumors when they were photographed looking cozy at the opening of Craig’s in Nashville.

Hurley amicably separated from her ex-husband, musician Rajiv Dhall, in April after nearly five years of marriage. They have since finalized their divorce.

In July, Tartick opened up to Us about getting his golden retriever mix from Wags & Walks Nashville, which Hurley founded in 2019, while also speaking about his love life.

“I think my next girlfriend’s gotta love dogs,” he teased at the time. “[She] has to be a fan of Teddy and the idea of rescuing. That’s so important.”

Tartick went on to say he is “very private” about his relationships, adding, “Dating in 2025 has been a wild and interesting ride.” He did, however, share that he was looking for a “teammate” in life.

“Some of the things for me that are nonnegotiable are support, loyalty, honesty through words and actions, consistency with care and respect, and also someone that just wants to just enjoy every aspect of life,” he explained. “I look up to my parents, but my parents have been married for over 40 years. And, of course, through the 40 years, there’s always challenges. And to watch them overcome every challenge over these 40 years and continue to just truly fall more in love every day is, like, one of the most beautiful things I’ve seen. And they just always have each other’s back. I think that consistency and that teamwork are the dream for me.”

Tartick is best known for competing on season 14 of The Bachelorette starring Becca Kufrin in 2018. He finished in third place behind runner-up Blake Horstmann and winner Garrett Yrigoyen.

The following year, Tartick began dating season 11 Bachelorette lead Kaitlyn Bristowe. They got engaged in 2021 but split in 2023.

In April, Bristowe, 40, publicly called out Tartick for naming his dog Teddy, which she wanted to call her baby one day.

“I said the day I met him, ‘I want to name my baby Teddy,’” she claimed on her “Off the Vine” podcast before telling listeners that she was “not fully angry” but “really grossed out and disappointed” in her ex.

After his breakup from Bristowe, Tartick briefly dated social media influencer Kat Stickler — who has since been linked to John Mayer — last year.
