Prime Minister 𝘒𝘦𝘪𝘳 𝘚𝘵𝘢𝘳𝘮𝘦𝘳 faced a fierce grilling today as GB News Political Editor Christopher Hope challenged him on “how anyone could trust him”.

Speaking at a news conference in central London, the Prime Minister defended Chancellor Rachel Reeves, who has been accused of “misleading” the public.

Questioning Sir Keir after the speech, Christopher asked: “You wanted to tread lightly on our lives before you were elected. You said that you were different from the Tory party.

“But aren’t you exactly the same? From David Lammy repeatedly not being clear about an escaped migrant in the House of Commons to Rachel Reeves talking about a black hole that wasn’t actually there.

“Now you want to cut benefits, but trust matters. How can our viewers trust anything you say?”

Mr Starmer responded: “Chris, I simply don’t accept the starting proposition. I’m really sorry.

“When I was told that we started the Budget process at minus £16billion, I didn’t cheer. I didn’t think it was good. I thought it was a very bad starting position.

“I was curious as to why the productivity review had been done this year and not previously. But there we are. That’s the nature of the beast. It’s done, and the price is calculated, and I’m handed the tab.

Weak feeble excuses giving rise to serious fiscal consequences for our country cannot ever be glibly shrugged off with insincere comments from a Prime Minister who quite frankly never showed leadership qualities from the outset.

    Christopher Hope

Christopher Hope grilled the Prime Minister after his speec

“I’m not suggesting the other figures aren’t there, but I won’t accept the proposition that somehow this was a good starting point.

“I’m £16billion down on what I thought I’d have. I know the impact that’s going to have on your viewers, because I know for them that the cost of living is the single most important issue.”

He pointed to concerns over January season ticket rises, prescription charges and energy bills, arguing that starting with a £16billion shortfall limited the choices available.

He added: “I know for them they are going to be worried at the beginning of the month in January, is their season ticket going up?

    Keir Starmer

    𝘒𝘦𝘪𝘳 𝘚𝘵𝘢𝘳𝘮𝘦𝘳 defended his Chancellor

“Because they normally get whacked with that pretty early in January. Prescription charges matter to them and their energy bills matter to them.

“There are choices, therefore, that can or can’t be done if you start with minus £16billion.

“If that hadn’t have happened, I’d have had £16billion more to weigh in the options and the choices that we made.

“I think all I can do is explain the impact that these decisions have on your viewers, and to assure them that I am well aware that the number one issue for them is the cost of living.

“I think for many of your viewers, they will, I hope, be pleased to see things like new measures going in. The childcare is a real game changer for so many parents and carers across the whole country.”

The announcement will come after the Conservative’s described the Budget as one for “benefits street”, following the Chancellor’s decision to lift the two-child benefit cap from April, at a cost of £3billon.

In response, Tory Shadow Chancellor Sir Mel Stride said: “It is frankly laughable to hear the prime minister say Rachel Reeves’ Benefits Street budget has put the country on the right course and that he wants to fix the welfare system.

“His Chancellor has just hiked taxes by £26bn to pay for a welfare splurge, penalising people who work hard and making them pay for those who don’t work at all.

“And she misrepresented why she was doing it, claiming there was a fiscal black hole to fill that she knew didn’t exist.

“Labour’s leadership have repeatedly shown they lack the backbone to tackle welfare and instead are just acting to placate their left-wing backbenchers.”

What unfolded instead was a secret ceremony — whispered among close family and friends, hidden away in a historic chapel where every breath carried emotion, and silence became louder than any applause.

    From Heartbreak to Healing

Both Rob and Rylan have walked through storms.

Rylan’s painful and very public split left scars that couldn’t be disguised, even behind his trademark smile. His voice once trembled in interviews, revealing the depth of his wounds. Rob, too, endured heartbreak, facing his own battles with quiet dignity in a world that often demanded resilience without weakness.

So when love found them again, they didn’t rush.
    They didn’t perform.
They simply listened — to their hearts, to the stillness, to the fragile trust growing day by day.

    .

A Ceremony of Stillness and Soul

The wedding mirrored who they are now: warm, private, and real.

Dressed in simple linen, they stood beneath a golden arch inside a centuries-old hall. No towering flowers. No celebrity guest list. Just family, close friends, and a love that needed no spectacle.

Best gifts for your loved ones

When the moment came to exchange vows, there were no rehearsed speeches — only words from the heart.

One looked at the other, voice breaking with sincerity, and whispered:
“Thank you for finding me, for staying by my side. I will treasure every moment with you.”

And for that instant, time itself seemed to stand still.

    A Softer Forever

This marriage isn’t about grandeur. It’s about shared coffee at dawn, late-night laughter, quiet walks without phones, and the kind of companionship that feels like home.

    There’s no magazine deal.
    No exclusive reveal.
Just love — unpolished, imperfect, and healing.

Best gifts for your loved ones

Rob and Rylan didn’t step into this union to erase the past, but to honor it — and to step into a future written on their own terms.

Now, hand in hand, they are quietly writing the most powerful story of all:

    A second chance.
    A softer kind of forever.
And a love that doesn’t need to shout to be heard.

Exclusive: Pearl Lowe celebrates ‘new quietness’ in artsy Notting Hill apartment after family upheaval

The designer and her husband, the rock musician Danny Goffey, welcomes us into thier charming Notting Hill mews apartment

hristmas is coming, and as Pearl Lowe welcomes us into her family’s new home in Notting Hill, we’re enveloped in a delicious aura of scented candles and seasoned wood. For the designer and her husband, the rock musician Danny Goffey, home is most definitely where the heart is.

And although they only recently moved back to the capital after 20 years of country living, this mews apartment already has their intimate, authentic vibe. It’s a place where the stresses of the world fade away among velvet sofas, eclectic fabrics and vintage finds.

“Home is my sanctuary. It’s where the kettle is always on, where shoes are kicked off and where I can fully relax,” Pearl tells us.  As Danny stokes the fire – the ritual at the heart of their Christmas – Pearl describes the holiday as an exercise in warmth: old films, mismatched socks, mountains of cheese, silly games and a feast that always finishes with homemade pudding.

And now that the couple’s four children – Daisy, Alfie, Frankie and Betty – have all grown up, they’re looking forward to gathering them here for a family celebration.

For Pearl Lowe and her husband, the rock musician Danny Goffey, home is most definitely where the heart is

Pearl, although you and Danny moved here by yourselves, this is still very much a family home, isn’t it? In fact, your youngest, Betty, has joined us today…

Yes. There’s a new quietness, but it’s gentle rather than sad. There’s always one child lingering here!

How has your relationship with the four of them changed?

It’s wonderful, because we have proper adult conversations; they’re more like friends than children. I speak to each of them on the phone every day and they give me advice. Suppers and holidays are so much fun – I love it.

What can you tell us about the decor here?

It’s a mix of vintage finds, softly worn fabrics, eclectic wallpapers and little personal treasures. I love rooms that feel as though they’ve evolved, rather than been installed. My approach to interiors is to trust my instincts and decorate with things I genuinely adore, not what’s fashionable. Comfort always comes first, then character follows. Nothing matches, everything has history, and that’s where the magic happens.

Which corner is your favourite place to relax?

I love sitting on our big orange velvet sofa, wrapped in a knitted throw, with a new scented candle lit, cuddling our dog, Doris.

How do you like to spend Christmas? Do you have any special traditions?

We like to spend it by a big roaring fire surrounded by family, with old films, cosy blankets and way too much cheese consumption. There’s always music, mismatched stockings and lots of fun games.

    What about the menu?

It’s a real feast: a slow-cooked turkey with all the trimmings – with a nut roast for me, as I don’t eat meat – plus mulled wine, champagne and homemade Christmas pudding.

Pearl has moved back to the capital after 20 years of country living

You started your creative career as a singer‑songwriter and became a fashion and textiles designer. Is there a connection?

I’ve always been drawn to things that tell a story, whether through a lyric or a faded piece of lace. I suppose the thread has always been emotion, authenticity and the thrill of transforming something ordinary into something beautiful.

You’re especially drawn to vintage clothes and objects, aren’t you?

Yes, because they have a story to tell. There’s beauty in the things that time hasn’t erased.

Your domestic life seems to complement your creativity…

My inspiration often comes from my children, and from the ordinary chores of cleaning and cooking or cutting flowers from my garden.

And have your children taken after their artistic parents?

They’re all artistic, but creativity flows differently in each of them. Daisy is a model, Alfie is a musician, Frankie is an artist and Betty will 100% go into fashion in some way when she leaves university.

You became a grandmother with the birth of Daisy’s daughter, Ivy, in 2023. Are you enjoying it?

It is unbelievably magical. Ivy brings a new light into the room.

What values do you try to instil in your children and granddaughter?

Kindness, courage, strength and the belief that imperfection is often the most beautiful thing of all.

Your new book, Faded Glamour in the City, is an ode to imperfection…

Yes, to romantic, characterful urban homes; places I’ve stepped into and fallen for.

What do you want readers to take away from your book?

I want them to take inspiration, excitement and a quiet confidence that they, too, can create something special.

Reginae Carter Spills Tea On How Mack Maine’s Lyrics Impacted Her Acting Gigs

Recently, Reginae Carter interviewed Fat Joe’s daughter, Azariah, on her ‘Heir Time’ podcast. During their chat, she said people tend to put a lot on her because of who her dad is. That led her to remember missing out on a big Disney opportunity due to Mack Maine’s lyrics in Young Money’s ‘Every Girl’ track. “I wanted to do something with Disney, but couldn’t because my uncle said, ‘in about three years holla at me Miley Cyrus’,” Reginae explained. After hearing the tea, Azzy looked shook and assured Reginae that, “Disney don’t play!” As of right now, there’s no word on the role Reginae would’ve had and Mack hasn’t addressed her comments as of yet.

The TL Pops Off With Reactions

Of course, The Shade Room’s comment section blew up after Reginae shared her tea. Some fans called Mack’s line classic, while others said it was straight-up wild! Then there were folks who just couldn’t understand how Mack Maine’s lyrics would affect her.

Instagram user @neek_dollas wrote, “Let me get this straight, Disney turned a blind eye to that man touching them kids, but stopped Reginae from work for her uncle’s song?”

Instagram user @september22ndd_ wrote, “That whole verse was wild.”

While Instagram user @1damiendevon wrote, Whole time Disney kids be some of the most abused children in the industry.”

Then Instagram user @skilerjoi wrote, I could’ve worked for Disney too if my mama didn’t perm my hair.”

Another Instagram user @greatblackmusicandartist wrote, “That line is classic tho ✊🏾✊🏾”

Instagram user @mermaidvibezz2 wrote, Yea I was like 17 when this song came out and even I thought it was a very weird thing to say😂😂😂😂”

Then another Instagram user @billionaire_nerd_600 wrote, This makes ZERO sense. Why would Disney stop her bag for something Mack Maine said? He’s not even related to her.”

Finally, Instagram user @__juicyjayyy__ wrote, “In 2025 he would have got canceled for that 😂😂😂😂”

Reginae Shares Which One Of Lil Wayne’s Exes Is Her Fave

Reginae never backs down from keeping it real. On a special episode of her podcast, her dad and her mom, Toya Johnson, interviewed her. When Wayne asked which one of his exes she liked the most, she admitted Nivea was always her fave, but now that she’s older, she’s really locked in with Lauren London. “Now that I’m older, my Sag queen twin, Lauren!” But even with that, Reginae made it real clear that she has love for all of the mothers of her dad’s children. “But you have amazing baby mama’s and I love them all.”

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s change in family Christmas cards reveal ‘telling identity shift’

t has been more than half a decade since Prince Harry and Meghan Markle relocated to the US for a fresh chapter, and the new direction they have taken is clear in the carefully curated cards they have released annually – along with the rest of the royal family – to mark the festive season.

From the outset, Harry and Meghan have forged their own path, and that’s just as true when it comes to their Christmas greetings – part statement, part scrapbook – weaving together celebrity sheen, philanthropic purpose and tender glimpses of family life.

They set the tone with their 2018 card, which celebrated their union with a shot from their wedding party. Beautifully produced and with a definite Hollywood vibe, it is perhaps the only official royal greeting to show its protagonists with their backs to the camera. Arm-in-arm, the couple gaze at the fireworks that fill the sky above them – a bold visual metaphor for trailblazers with a bright future together.

Their 2019 card, unsurprisingly, saw a seven-month-old Archie take centre stage, adorably gazing at the camera head on. The posed snapshot was taken by Meghan’s friend Janina Gavankar and gave royal watchers a glimpse into how the Sussexes were cherishing family time away from the spotlight, in Canada.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's 2019 Christmas cardThe couple’s son Archie was the main focus on their 2019 card

After stepping back from royal duties and relocating to California with Archie and later Lilibet, the Sussexes’ cards evolved in style and substance. In 2020, Archie enjoyed an American-style Christmas in a painted storybook scene, signalling a new chapter for the family and their embrace of life across the Atlantic.

Shift from personal photos to storytelling

By 2021, the family was complete, with celebrity photographer Alexi Lubomirski – who also took the couple’s engagement and wedding photos – capturing Lilibet’s public debut. The card read “Happy Holidays” in true US style, a small but telling shift that reflected their new identity.

From there, their greetings began to lean less on personal portraits and more on storytelling.

    Highlighting charity work

The 2022 card highlighted the couple’s accolades and charitable work, while 2024’s greeting captured humanitarian visits to Nigeria and Colombia. Yet, tucked among those official moments was a heartwarming family scene: Archie and Lili racing to greet their parents with hugs.

The actress wife of Lord Frederick Windsor and her daughter Isabella joined Big Issue vendors on the streets of the capital to sell copies of the magazine in support of helping the homeless

f you were among the many Christmas shoppers thronging around central London’s historic Somerset House on a Sunday in early December, you may have crossed paths with two rather special Big Issue vendors.

Lady Frederick Windsor, also known as the actress Sophie Winkleman, and her younger daughter, Isabella, nine, joined vendors on the streets of the capital to sell copies of the magazine, which supports homeless people.

    Taking a stand

“Both my girls feel enraged that we live in a society where homelessness is accepted,” Sophie tells HELLO!, as we join her to take these exclusive photos.

“I’m proud that both girls feel immense compassion and empathy for homeless people, rather than any kind of judgement,” she continues. “All three of us feel it could happen to anyone, including us if we hadn’t had stable families and an income from both parents.”

Sophie, 45, has another daughter – Maud, 12 – with her husband, Lord Frederick Windsor, whose father, Prince Michael of Kent, is a cousin of the late Queen Elizabeth II.

    The Big Issue

Best known for her role as Big Suze in the Channel 4 comedy Peep Show, Sophie has been an ambassador for the Big Issue since 2020, after she wrote to Lord John Bird, the charity’s co-founder, to congratulate him on an article.

“How the hell is it OK to walk past someone sleeping in the street? No one should have to endure that pain and indignity”

“When he wrote back and suggested we meet, I was truly starstruck – he’s a heroic man. We got on instantly and he asked me to be an ambassador soon after that. It’s one of the great honours of my life,” she says.

Christmas is a crucial time to help out, she says. “It’s important to buy the Big Issue at Christmas, because your local vendor is someone who has hauled themselves up from a very low place and should be honoured and treasured. Also, if you can afford to buy yourself a nice hot coffee on the way to work, you can afford to buy a Big Issue.

“You’re not just giving when you buy the Big Issue, you’re receiving – not just a great magazine, but also a moment of connection with someone who’s been truly brave. What better way to spend a fiver?”

Sophie and Isabella spent their day with Big Issue seller Kelvin, whom Sophie describes as a “dynamic, funny, worldly man”.

“No one bought from me this time,” she laughs. “I need to channel Kelvin’s zen tolerance; apparently I looked instantly furious when people walked past me. Not the way to be. A lovely lady bought one from Isabella, thank goodness. That was a relief.”

Now, she is looking forward to spending Christmas with her family in London. “A Boxing Day walk through the park is one of my favourite things to do,” she says. “We’re seeing Freddie’s parents in Kensington on Christmas Eve and my lovely dad is taking us all out on Christmas Day – so fun and gorgeous and no washing-up. Perfect!”

Rob Reiner and his wife Michele Singer posed with their whole family in September before enjoying a holiday just weeks before their daughter Remy, 28, who lives across the street, found their dead bodies at their sprawling six-bedroom estate.

Police confirmed on Sunday night that a 78-year-old man and a 68-year-old woman, believed to be those of Rob and Michele, were discovered inside their $13.5million Brentwood mansion, in what police are investigating as a double homicide.

It has now been revealed that police are questioning a relative over the alleged murder of Michele and Rob, who made many of the best-known movies of the 1980s and 1990s, including Stand By Me in 1987, legal thriller A Few Good Men in 1992 and romantic comedy When Harry Met Sally in 1989.

Romy’s Instagram is littered with videos and images with her father, with a post from 1 December documenting their family holiday, with both her mother and father posing in the sea, and a caption professing she was ‘thankful for family’.

Meanwhile, in September Rob and his wife posed for their final full family photo with children Romy, Nick, Jake and Jake’s wife Maria Gilfillan at the premiere for Spinal Tap 2, which he directed and wrote.

‘We are heartbroken by this sudden loss, and we ask for privacy during this unbelievably difficult time.’

Los Angeles Police Department detectives say the deaths are being investigated as homicides, and a heavy police presence was at the home on Sunday evening.

A neighbour told ABC7 that Larry David and Billy Crystal — who starred in Reiner’s rom-com classic When Harry Met Sally — visited the crime scene separately, and Crystal allegedly ‘looked like he was about to cry’ before he left.

The couple reportedly lived in the home, and property records obtained by the Daily Mail indicate that they are the owners. The Daily Mail has reached out to representatives for Reiner and the LAPD for comment.

In a press conference, LAPD Deputy Chief Alan Hamilton said a suspect in the murders had not yet been identified. He added that no one had yet been interviewed as a suspect and that no one was in custody.

In 2016, Rob directed the film Being Charlie, a semi-autobiographical drama written by Nick that he said was inspired by his numerous rehab visits, the first of which was around when he turned 15.

‘I was homeless in Maine. I was homeless in New Jersey. I was homeless in Texas,’ Nick recalled while speaking about the film in a 2016 interview with People. ‘I spent nights on the street. I spent weeks on the street. It was not fun.’

Nick, who said he had gone to rehab 17 more times as of 2016, also claimed to have lived on the streets after he refused to go back to a rehab program.

In 2016, when he was 22, he said that his last rehab stint had been three years earlier.

He said at the time of Being Charlie’s release that he hoped to stay off drugs so that he would never be homeless again: ‘When I was out there, I could’ve died. It’s all luck. You roll the dice and you hope you make it’.

In an interview with the BUILD series while promoting Being Charlie in 2016, Nick said that he ‘didn’t bond’ well with his father, who sat by his side during the interview, when he was younger.

‘It really clicked for me because we didn’t bond a lot as a kid,’ Nick said. ‘He really liked baseball, I liked basketball, and he could watch that with my brother — baseball — but I just, when I saw [Rob Reiner direct Being Charlie], it was something that I’m interested in.

‘I was like, “Wow, he really knows a lot,” and it made me feel closer to him,’ Nick said at the time.

In a press conference on Monday, LAPD Deputy Chief Alan Hamilton said a suspect in the murders had not yet been identified. He added that no one had yet been interviewed as a suspect and that no one was in custody.

‘We’re going to try to speak to every family member that we can to get to the facts of this investigation,’ Hamilton continued.

He noted that the bodies were still in the home, as police were waiting on a warrant to reenter the home and begin their investigation after determining that there was no further threat.

In a statement, LA Mayor Karen Bass said she was ‘heartbroken’ by the Reiners’ deaths, calling them ‘a devastating loss for our city and our country.’

‘Rob Reiner’s contributions reverberate throughout American culture and society, and he has improved countless lives through his creative work and advocacy fighting for social and economic justice,’ Bass said

In September, Rob released Spinal Tap II: The End Continues, the sequel to his iconic 1984 mockumentary This Is Spinal Tap, which he co-wrote, directed and appeared in.

He followed his father, the comic actor and filmmaker Carl Reiner — who died in 2020 at 98 — into Hollywood, where he became known as an actor, director and a tireless champion of liberal politics.

Rob first emerged as an actor and is best known for his role as Michael ‘Meathead’ Stivic on All In The Family.

He won two Emmy Awards and was nominated for five Golden Globes during his stint on the series from 1971 to 1978.

Rob helped reinvent his career in the 1980s with his forward-looking comedy This Is Spinal Tap, which would go on to inspire countless mockumentaries.
