The social media personality beat Tom Read Wilson and Shona McGarty to be crowned King of the Jungle

TV’s I’m a Celebrity winner was finally crowned last night after three rollercoaster weeks of laughter and tears. Angry Ginge walked away as King of the Jungle on Sunday, December 7.

The TikTok star beat Celebs Go Dating receptionist Tom Read Wilson and former EastEnders actress Shona McGarty, who came in second and third place respectively, as the last camp mate standing.

Angry Ginge took over from reigning champion McFly’s Danny Jones. Similar to the musician, Angry Ginge, who has millions of social media followers, will have to return his floral crown and wooden sceptre before even leaving Australia and heading back to the UK.

Sam Thompson, who won the show prior to Danny, also revealed how he had to hand back the items, with “nothing to show” for his victory.

As the winner of the show, Angry Ginge received a flower crown and a wooden sceptre.

However, the last campmate standing does not receive a cash prize for winning the competition itself, and that is because there is a pre-arranged appearance fee, which can range from tens of thousands to over a million pounds, depending on their level of fame.

All contestants receive this fee as long as they stay in the jungle for a minimum of 72 hours, regardless of where they finish in the public vote.

Shona is estimated to earn around £95,000 for the show, Tom is in the region of £60,000 to £80,000 and Angry Ginge is believed to be pocketing £100,000 for his appearance.

Angry Ginge said: “I didn’t do it to become King. I did it for the experience.” His sister, Tasha Burtwistle, said for him to be on a show was a bucket-list moment.

Rob Reiner’s final hours revealed as eldest daughter breaks silence on horrific double murder

racy Reiner has broken her silence following the brutal deaths of her father, Rob Reiner, and his wife, Michele Singer Reiner.

The actress, 61, whom the director adopted during his marriage to Penny Marshall, said the news has left her devastated as she had last seen him just one day before he was killed.

‘I came from the greatest family ever,’ Tracy told NBC News. ‘I don’t know what to say. I’m in shock.’

She added that she had seen her father at a family gathering the day before the fatal attack.

Reiner, 78, and Michele, 70, were found dead at their $13.5 million Brentwood mansion on Sunday.

According to People, their daughter, Romy, who lives just across the street, stumbled upon the grim scene inside their sprawling six-bedroom estate.

The couple’s son, Nick Reiner, 32, was arrested on suspicion of murdering his parents.

Los Angeles police confirmed in a new statement on Monday that Nick, who struggled with addiction, is ‘responsible’ for the deaths of his parents.

Although officials did not release any further details about the murders, a police source who spoke to the Associated Press believe the couple suffered brutal stab wounds and were found with their throats slit on Sunday night.

Los Angeles police responded to the residence just after 3:30 p.m. on Sunday following a call to the Los Angeles Fire Department requesting medical assistance.

First responders found both victims deceased at the scene, according to People.

At a press conference later that day, officials revealed that ‘a family member’ was being questioned by authorities, per the Los Angeles Times.

At the time of Nick’s arrest, his sister Romy, 28, who discovered their parents bodies, told investigators her brother ‘should be a suspect’ because he was ‘dangerous.’

In a 2018 podcast appearance, Nick once revealed that he destroyed the family home he was living in while high on meth. ‘It’s not much of a story. I got totally spun out on uppers — I think it was coke and something else — and I was up for days on end,’ he revealed, before adding that he ‘punched’ various appliances around the guest house.

A Reiner family spokesman confirmed the deaths, saying: ‘It is with profound sorrow that we announce the tragic passing of Michele and Rob Reiner,’ they said. ‘We are heartbroken by this sudden loss, and we ask for privacy during this unbelievably difficult time.’

A neighbor told ABC7 that Larry David and Billy Crystal, who starred in Reiner’s rom-com classic When Harry Met Sally, visited the crime scene separately, and Crystal allegedly ‘looked like he was about to cry’ before he left.

Reiner was married to Penny Marshall from 1971 to 1981, during which time he adopted Tracy.

After meeting Singer on the 1989 set of When Harry Met Sally, Reiner married her later that year.

The couple shared three children: Jake, 34, Nick and Romy, 28.

Tributes have poured in from across politics, Hollywood and beyond.

Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass said in a statement: ‘This is a devastating loss for our city and our country. Rob Reiner’s contributions reverberate throughout American culture and society, and he has improved countless lives through his creative work and advocacy fighting for social and economic justice.’

She added: ‘Personally, I am heartbroken by the tragic loss of Rob and his wife Michele. I knew Rob and have tremendous respect for him… The investigation is ongoing. I’m holding all who loved Rob and Michele in my heart.’

California Governor Gavin Newsom echoed those sentiments, writing: ‘Rob was the big-hearted genius behind so many of the classic stories we love… His boundless empathy made his stories timeless… He made California a better place through his good works.’

Former President Barack Obama and former First Lady Michelle Obama shared a joint message on X, saying they were ‘heartbroken’ by the couple’s deaths and praising Reiner’s belief in ‘the goodness of people’ and his lifelong commitment to putting that belief into action.

Christopher Guest, who worked with Reiner on This Is Spinal Tap and The Princess Bride, released a joint statement with his wife Jamie Lee Curtis, saying they were ‘numb and sad and shocked’ and emphasizing that their focus was on supporting the Reiners’ children and family.

Director Paul Feig wrote: ‘Rob is one of my heroes. I had the honor of calling him a friend… I just saw him and Michele two nights ago.’

James Woods, who starred in Ghosts of Mississippi, said political differences ‘never stood in the way of our love and respect for each other,’ adding he was ‘devastated by this terrible event’.

Elijah Wood described himself as ‘horrified’ by the news and sent love to the family.

The son of legendary comedian Carl Reiner and actress Estelle Reiner, Rob began his career as an actor before becoming one of Hollywood’s most celebrated directors. He rose to fame as Mike ‘Meathead’ Stivic on All in the Family, earning two Primetime Emmy Awards.

While he appeared in films including Sleepless in Seattle, The First Wives Club, Primary Colors, and The Wolf of Wall Street, Reiner was best known for his work behind the camera.

His directing career began with This Is Spinal Tap in 1984 and went on to include Stand by Me, The Princess Bride, When Harry Met Sally, Misery, and A Few Good Men, which earned an Oscar nomination for Best Picture.

His later films included The American President, And So It Goes, and Shock and Awe. Reiner’s final project marked a return to his roots: Spinal Tap II: The End Continues, which was released earlier this year.

Coronation Street drama deepens amid Theo discovering secret cameras as spoilers confirm Todd’s next move

Todd thinks of a new plan

Todd Grimshaw’s carefully thought-out scheme unravelled on Coronation Street tonight (Monday, December 15) when controlling Theo Silverton stumbled across the hidden cameras.

Following a brutal clash in the flat, it was Todd who was taken away by the police after Theo was left injured. Despite everything that had happened, Todd later returned home with Theo, and the tension was suffocating.

Back behind closed doors, Theo’s temper flared once again. His fury simmered dangerously close to the surface as Todd tried to keep the peace, clearly shaken and on edge. With Theo’s control tightening and Todd’s safety hanging in the balance, the discovery of those cameras marked a terrifying turning point.

Theo exposed Todd’s plan in Coronation Street

On the cobbles today, Coronation Street delivered a standout hour with Todd and Theo’s harrowing special episode, shot through multiple cameras to give the drama an eerie, claustrophobic edge.

Behind the flat door, Theo’s need for control hit disturbing new levels – monitoring what Todd ate, cutting him off from friends, forcing fitness regimes, smashing his phone and flying into rages. When Todd finally summoned the courage to walk away, Theo responded by locking him in the bedroom overnight. Chilling.

The following day, tensions exploded. A struggle erupted, glass shattered, and Theo was left unconscious just as Bernie, alarmed by the shouting, called the police. In a cruel twist, Todd played down the abuse he’d endured for months and found himself arrested instead. Heartbreaking stuff.

Theo, meanwhile, milked the victim act at hospital before returning home with Todd. But then came the real kicker. While reminiscing over old photos, Theo stumbled across one of Todd’s hidden cameras. The look, the fury… Theo now knows he’s been watched, and that discovery could put Todd in serious danger.

Coronation Street spoilers confirm Todd’s plot to leave abusive Theo

In Christmas and New Year Coronation Street spoilers, there seems to be little Christmas cheer for Todd and Theo as Todd plans to leave the relationship.

When Theo asks Todd if he’s buzzing for Christmas Day, Todd sidesteps the question and casually mentions being back at work, making Theo instantly suspicion. Then comes the real horror as Theo’s hosting Christmas dinner and doing all the cooking. Todd’s face says it all… and not in a festive way.

Lunch with George, Christina, Summer and Glenda is a pressure cooker. Summer lets slip she’s nabbed Andrew Scott tickets for Todd (girl knows his crush), Theo’s mood plummets, and a game of charades ends with a smashed wine glass. Awkward.

Theo then announces a surprise mini-break which just happens to clash with Summer’s gift. Todd dares to smile… until Theo shuts him down with one look.

Spilled orange juice, hidden bruises, and Billy’s growing concern push Todd closer to breaking point. But it’s the New Year’s Eve chaos that gives him his chance. When Theo’s distracted by a phone call, Todd finally bolts. Freedom at last… or is Theo’s voicemail enough to reel him back in?

  • Emmerdale: Dylan Penders TRAGIC Exit Threat!

Emmerdale: Dylan Penders TRAGIC Exit Threat!

Emmerdale: Dylan Penders TRAGIC Exit Threat!

Emmerdale plunges viewers into harrowing territory in a tense early ITVX episode that threatens a devastating and possibly fatal exit for Dylan Penders. With the young character still firmly in the clutches of the ruthless Celia Daniels and her equally dangerous accomplice Ray Walters, the soap delivers an hour packed with dread, moral conflict, and a chilling reminder that in Emmerdale, doing the right thing can come at the highest possible cost.

From the opening moments, it’s clear this storyline has crossed into truly perilous ground. What began as subtle manipulation and intimidation has now escalated into outright violence, leaving Dylan’s life hanging by a thread and his loved ones paralysed by fear. Dylan and his girlfriend, April Windsor, have been dragged far too deep into Celia and Ray’s criminal operation, treated as disposable pawns in a drug-dealing network quietly infecting the village.

For Dylan, the moment everything changed came when he witnessed Bear being forced into gruelling manual labour on Celia’s farm. It was a horrifying realisation — proof that Celia’s control extended far beyond threats and intimidation. This wasn’t just about drugs. It was about ownership, obedience, and punishment. That discovery marked the moment Dylan truly understood the danger he was in — and, crucially, the moment he crossed a line in Celia’s eyes.

Encouraging April to speak to her family felt like the only morally acceptable choice. Dylan refused to stand by and watch her be swallowed by fear and control. But in Celia’s world, morality is treated as betrayal. Choosing honesty meant placing a target on his own back.

Celia and Ray soon became aware of Dylan’s doubts, and it was Ray who took matters into his own hands. Running Dylan down with a car was not an impulsive act of violence — it was calculated and symbolic. This was about silencing Dylan permanently and sending a clear warning to anyone else who might consider stepping out of line. The brutality of the attack sent shockwaves through the storyline, cementing Ray and Celia as two of the most dangerous villains the soap has seen in years.

Since then, Dylan has been clinging to life in hospital, his future heartbreakingly uncertain. Even as he lies unconscious, his attackers remain disturbingly close, watching and waiting to see whether he will become a problem again. Survival alone is not enough. In their eyes, Dylan’s value lies in his silence.

Friday’s episode opens with a chilling reminder of Ray’s duplicity as he calmly lies to Laurel about the hit-and-run. The ease with which he switches masks is deeply unsettling. One moment he is the reassuring partner, the next a man capable of attempted murder. It’s this duality that makes Ray so terrifying — and so unpredictable.

Meanwhile, Marlon and Rona are left trying to hold things together for the sake of those around them. They attempt to reassure Paddy that April is watching over Dylan at the hospital, even though they know just how exposed and vulnerable he really is. The tension in these scenes is suffocating, built on the truths they are too frightened to say out loud. Every word feels carefully chosen, every silence heavy with fear.

The imbalance of power becomes painfully clear when Rona later crosses paths with Celia in the pub. Desperate and fuelled by fear, Rona threatens to expose her. Celia’s response is chilling in its simplicity: she barely reacts. No anger. No panic. Just calm certainty. That lack of fear speaks volumes. Celia truly believes she is untouchable — and that terrifies Rona far more than any shouted threat ever could.

Driven by desperation, Rona makes a reckless and heartbreaking offer. Hoping to protect April, she suggests taking the teenager’s place working for Celia. It’s a moment that underlines just how far Rona has been pushed — a mother willing to sacrifice herself to keep her child safe. But Celia’s response is cold, dismissive, and razor-sharp. She questions whether Rona even has the temperament for “that kind of life,” exposing just how little she values human suffering.

Then comes the moment that sends a chill down the spine. Celia casually brings Dylan into the conversation, hinting that if he becomes a liability, they will “deal with him.” The threat is understated but unmistakable — and all the more horrifying for it. Dylan’s life, it seems, can be erased with a shrug.

Rona snaps back, insisting that a reckoning is coming and that Dylan will tell the police everything when he wakes up. The instant regret on her face is devastating. She knows she has said too much. Celia dismisses her like an insignificant nuisance, but it’s painfully clear that Rona has just placed Dylan in even greater danger.

Just when the storyline feels at its darkest, Paddy delivers a glimmer of hope: Dylan is going to be brought out of his coma. Under normal circumstances, it would be a moment of immense relief. Instead, it sparks fresh panic. Waking up doesn’t guarantee safety — it may do the opposite.

Rona immediately rushes to Marlon, convinced that Celia and Ray will attempt to reach Dylan before he has a chance to speak. The race is on, and the stakes could not be higher. Dylan waking up means answers, justice, and exposure — but it also means becoming an active threat to two people who have already proven they are capable of extreme violence.

This episode makes one devastating truth painfully clear: Dylan’s survival does not guarantee his safety. In fact, it may place him in more danger than ever before. With Celia and Ray watching every move, manipulating every situation, the threat hanging over Dylan feels heavier now than at any previous point in the storyline.

As viewers are left on a knife-edge, the question lingers: will Dylan be allowed to tell the truth, or will his bravery cost him everything? Emmerdale has crafted a storyline that doesn’t shy away from the terrifying consequences of standing up to power — and with Dylan’s fate still uncertain, this tragic threat looms larger than ever.

“I’m About to Say Goodbye to THE LOVE OF MY LIFE…” — Fiona Phillips’ Husband Martin Frizell Breaks In Tears Hearts With Emotional Update on Her Alzheimer’s Battle

In a deeply emotional interview on Loose Women, Martin Frizell, husband of beloved television presenter Fiona Phillips, delivered a heart-wrenching update on her battle with early-onset Alzheimer’s disease, admitting, “I’m about to say goodbye to her.” Fiona, diagnosed at 61 in 2022, has faced a relentless decline, and Martin’s candid revelations about her “horrible” current phase have left fans and viewers devastated. The former GMTV star’s journey, marked by her vibrant career and warm presence, has taken a tragic turn as Alzheimer’s reshapes their lives.

Fiona Phillips, 64, was a household name, known for her work on GMTVThis Morning, and Loose Women. Her diagnosis came as a shock, given her relatively young age, and sent ripples through the UK’s media landscape. Martin, 66, a former ITV executive, stepped back from his career to become Fiona’s primary caregiver, a role he has embraced with unwavering devotion. The couple, married since 1997 and parents to two sons, have faced the disease’s challenges together, documenting their experiences in their bestselling memoir, Remember When: My Life With Alzheimer’s, which recently reached number four on the Sunday Times bestsellers list.

Speaking on Loose Women in August 2025, Martin shared the painful reality of Fiona’s condition. “It’s a horrible phase,” he said, his voice heavy with emotion. “I’m about to say goodbye to her, in a way, because the Fiona I knew is fading.” He described how Alzheimer’s has stripped away her ability to perform simple tasks like brushing her teeth or washing her hair independently. “She can do these things physically, but she doesn’t know how to start or what to use,” Martin explained. “I put toothpaste on her brush, wash her hair, make sure she’s safe. She fights it, though—she’s still so stubborn.” This resistance, he noted, is a flicker of Fiona’s fiery spirit, but it also underscores the disease’s cruelty.

Martin highlighted small victories, noting improvements in Fiona’s mood due to new antidepressant medication. “She’s sleeping better, eating better, and there’s less confusion,” he said, but the progress is bittersweet. Fiona’s frustration peaks when watching television, a reminder of the career she loved. “She gets anxious, almost frightened, because she can’t do what she used to,” Martin shared. “She’ll see presenters on screen and get upset that she’s not working.” These moments are particularly heart-wrenching for Martin, who has spent decades in television himself, producing shows like This Morning.

Alzheimer's made Fiona Phillips think her husband was kidnapper

The couple’s memoir has resonated widely, offering a raw look at Alzheimer’s impact. Martin recounted how they spend hours flipping through photo albums, listening to music by The Police or Sting, moments that briefly reconnect Fiona to her past. “She smiles, and it’s like seeing her again,” he said, sharing a favorite photo from a
    Portable speakers
TV shoot that captured her vitality. The book’s success, Martin noted on Instagram, has lifted Fiona’s spirits, with fans’ support providing a rare bright spot. “She wants to thank everyone who’s shown interest in her story,” he wrote. “It’s really helped her.”

Alzheimer’s, the most common form of dementia, affects over 5 million people in the US alone, with early-onset cases like Fiona’s accounting for roughly 4%. The disease’s progressive nature means caregivers like Martin face increasing demands. He admitted the toll it takes: “Some days, I’m exhausted, but I can’t imagine not being there for her.” He emphasized the importance of preventing health complications, like tooth infections, which could worsen Fiona’s vulnerability. “It’s about keeping her healthy, keeping her with us as long as we can,” he said.

‘I Told Them I Couldn’t Do The Movie’: Jim Carrey Reveals Studio Hired CIA Torture Resistance Expert To Help Him Survive Grinch Makeup Hell

Christmas, in the world of Hollywood, is a time of endless cheer, beloved traditions, and, apparently, intense behind-the-scenes psychological endurance. The magic we see on screen is often built upon a foundation of bizarre real-life trauma, unscripted fan encounters, and desperate measures taken by film studios. When the biggest names in holiday cinema gathered on The Graham Norton Show, the ensuing conversation offered a fascinating and, in one particularly shocking case, terrifying glimpse behind the festive curtain.

The most extraordinary revelation of the night came from legendary comedian and actor Jim Carrey, whose portrayal of the titular green curmudgeon in How the Grinch Stole Christmas has become essential annual viewing for millions. While the film is a colourful, chaotic riot of fun, Carrey’s experience was anything but. In fact, he revealed that the relentless torture of the Grinch’s heavy makeup application drove him to a mental breaking point, forcing the studio to engage a professional trained by the CIA.

    The Grinch’s Hellish Transformation

Carrey described the sheer physical and mental toll of the intricate Grinch prosthetics and costume as being “literally like being buried alive every day.” The process was not a quick one. On the first day alone, the makeup application consumed a staggering eight and a half hours. This ordeal, confined to a small makeup chair under heavy prosthetics, proved too much to bear.

“I went back to my trailer and put my leg through the wall,” Carrey confessed, detailing the moment his sanity snapped under the pressure. The situation was so severe that he immediately called director Ron Howard to deliver the ultimatum: he couldn’t do the movie. For a major studio production, this was a crisis.

Enter the surprising solution: a crisis manager with a background that seemed wildly inappropriate for a family Christmas movie set. According to Carrey, the studio’s fix was to hire a “gentleman who is trained to teach CIA operatives how to endure torture.”

This specialist, whose expertise lay in resisting interrogation and extreme confinement, was tasked with guiding Carrey through the physical and psychological agony of the makeup chair. The advice given was as bizarre as the situation itself. To combat spiralling panic attacks, Carrey was instructed to “turn the television on, change a pattern, have someone, you know, come up and smack you in the head,” or even to “punch yourself in the leg.” In a darkly comedic twist, the actor also shared the advice to “smoke as much as you possibly can.”

The surreal image that emerged was of the Grinch, covered in yak hair, sitting in the chair—not with a Christmas carol, but with a giant cigarette holder to keep the flammable green hair safe—desperately listening to music to stay calm.

Ultimately, Carrey found his unlikely saviour not in covert operations training, but in disco. He revealed that the only thing that worked to keep him calm throughout the entire 100 times the makeup was applied was listening to the soothing, familiar sounds of the Bee Gees. “There’d be no Grinch without them,” he joked, a startling epilogue to a story of unexpected suffering for a festive icon.

The Unexpected Rituals of Classic Christmas FilmsKeira Knightley brands THAT Love Actually sign moment 'creepy and sweet' - 21 years after the iconic Christmas film was released | Daily Mail Online

The conversation shifted to the enduring impact of modern Christmas classics, which often generate powerful, if sometimes strange, emotional connections with audiences.

Kate Winslet shared her delight in the legacy of The Holiday, which she made in 2006. She notes that the film has become a ritualistic staple, particularly for mothers and daughters. Winslet described how she can spot the fans coming, often holding hands, as they approach her in public places—including, memorably, the UK supermarket chain, Waitrose—just to tell her, “We love The Holiday.” This yearly event, often involving a takeaway, wine, and chocolates, highlights how cinematic escapism weaves itself into personal festive traditions.

Keira Knightley, who is perhaps most associated with the ensemble rom-com Love Actually, had an equally bizarre tale of fan devotion. While stuck in an hour-long traffic jam with her mother in a famously “horrible yellow car,” a van full of builders pulled up alongside them. To her astonishment, the men proceeded to recreate the entire, famous cue card scene from the film—a scene originally intended to be both sweet and creepy.

Knightley admitted the spontaneous performance was exactly that: both creepy and sweet at the same time, especially since she couldn’t escape the fixed-in-traffic audience. Despite the film being known for its romantic moments, Knightley was adamant about one detail: she got the “best kiss in that movie, hands down,” with her co-star Rodrigo Santoro, an assertion that always surprises the audience. She attributed the genuine sweetness of the scene to the fact that they were both genuinely broken-hearted at the time, having recently been dumped, turning the on-screen kiss into a shared moment of real-life emotional comfort.

From Glam Rock Nativity to Time-Travelling Trains

Beyond the established classics, the panel discussed the new generation of holiday films, each with its own eccentric story.

Emilia Clarke spoke of her film, Last Christmas, which is not just set during the season, but is entirely based on the iconic Wham! song. The film, which she stars in as a “lost, confused and dazed” young woman named Kate, was written by Emma Thompson. The biggest secret, however, was reserved for the credits: an as-of-yet unheard song written by George Michael right before his death is featured.

The night’s most outlandish personal story, however, belonged to Catherine Tate. Discussing her film Nativity 3: Dude, Where’s My Donkey?, she was drawn into recounting her theatrical roots, which started with a primary school nativity play. Tate, who was terribly shy as a child, was initially given no part at all. Her mother, desperate for her timid, spectacle-wearing daughter to be noticed, took drastic, unconventional action.

Tate’s mother asked her if Sister Dorothy, the teacher, knew she could do an impression of the infamous glam rocker, Gary Glitter. In a truly unbelievable turn of events, Tate’s mother encouraged her to pitch herself to the nun as the “King of Glam Rock” to join the Three Kings. Tate recalled her mother’s rationale to the bewildered sister: “Look, it’s the birth of our Lord, don’t you think Mary and Joseph would have had a party?”

To the shock of the audience, the school actually agreed. During the performance, Tate confirmed, the teacher paused the play to announce to the stunned parents: “Ladies and gentlemen, the cabaret is right!” before a young Tate came stumbling in to deliver her impression, launching a comedy career with a legendary, wholly inappropriate, and unforgettable start.

Rounding out the Christmas confessions were James McAvoy, promoting the ‘smart, funny’ Aardman animation Arthur Christmas, and Kurt Russell, who discussed the commitment of growing his own impressive beard for his role as Santa in The Christmas Chronicles—a beard that thankfully proved less irritating to his long-time partner, Goldie Hawn, than the one he grew for The Hateful Eight.

Finally, Michael Sheen detailed his role in the high-concept time-travel Christmas film, Last Train to Christmas. Like Jim Carrey, he endured an excruciating eight hours in the makeup chair to portray his character, a nightclub manager who keeps moving 10 years forward or backward in life simply by changing train carriages. Sheen had to play “millions of versions” of himself, a physical transformation that almost rivalled Carrey’s in its sheer demand for endurance.

The collective revelations from the festive panel prove that while Christmas films bring an annual dose of comfort and joy to millions, the path to cinematic Yuletide immortality is paved with bizarre fan interactions, uncomfortable sacrifices, psychological anguish, and, if you’re Catherine Tate, a healthy dose of pure, chaotic glam rock.

Hollywood director Rob Reiner and his wife Michele were found dead at their Los Angeles home on Sunday evening, with son Nick arrested on suspicion of murder

Rob Reiner and his son were reportedly involved in a heated row at Conan O’Brien’s Christmas party on Saturday night.

The legendary Hollywood director and his wife, Michele, were found dead at their Los Angeles home on Sunday evening, with police investigating their deaths as “apparent homicides.”

The pair, together with their son Nick, had attended comedian Conan O’Brien’s holiday celebration just hours prior to their tragic deaths.

Court records show that Nick was arrested at the Los Angeles County jail late Sunday night on suspicion of murdering his parents. TMZ reported that family sources disclosed a domestic altercation took place at the gathering.

According to TMZ, sources close to the Reiner family claimed that Rob and Nick became involved in a “very loud argument,” at the event – a confrontation so intense it drew the notice of numerous guests.

These sources additionally revealed that Rob and Michele left the party shortly after the dispute, though they could not verify whether Nick also left.

Family sources told TMZ that Michele had confided to friends in recent months that she and Rob said, “We’ve tried everything.”

“I mean, you know, we got into issues [but] … the whole process for me, it did make me understand him a lot more and I think it made me a better father, hopefully it did,” stated Rob, who directed the film.

On another occasion, Reiner spoke about his responsibilities as a parent dealing with a troubled child, stating, “If your kid is going through rough times, [as] the parent, your main job is to keep your child safe. So I would do anything.”

It’s been another exciting and successful year for the Andres, albeit not without its challenges. But amid all the ups and downs of the past twelve months, Pete says during a sparkly exclusive shoot with OK! that one person has been his constant.

“Emily has been my absolute rock through any tough times and the good,” he says. “She’s my partner in crime. We laugh so much.”Emily adds, “You know, it’s funny, Pete’s name in Greek actually means rock. And he is literally my rock, in every way.”

Pete’s grown-up children – Princess, 18, and Junior, 20 – have had a particularly memorable year. Junior has continued with his music and moved in with his girlfriend Jasmine, while his sister Princess launched her hit reality show, The Princess Diaries. “They’re great kids,” Pete smiles. “For me, it’s important that they stay humble, and they really are.”

Princess’s fly-on-the-wall series, which Junior regularly appears in, has been renewed for another two seasons thanks to impressive viewing figures, and proud dad Pete says, “I just want them to shine, to show people what they are made of and to be happy.”

Pete and Emily celebrated their 10th wedding anniversary in July, and reflecting on their happy marriage, he says, “Will we make it to 70 years of marriage like my mum and dad? Probably not, as I’m too old! But Emily’s someone I could easily see myself being married to for 70 years.

“We might disagree on the thermostat, but we’ve never had a serious argument in 10 years. We’re solid. When things feel negative and a bit harsh, you realise the love you’ve got.” Laughing, Emily adds, “We also bicker about the freezer – and yes, we do need to keep it full of food we never use!”

Pete admits there is one bittersweet element of the season, however, when his thoughts turn to his beloved mum Thea, who lives in Australia with dad, Savvas.

Now 89, Thea suffers from both Parkinson’s and dementia and Pete, who hopes to fly out there after Christmas to see them both, worries that this Christmas could be his mum’s last.

“Of course I worry this could be Mum’s last Christmas. She’s very delicate”, he says softly. “Her Parkinson’s has progressed quite a bit. Her speech is almost gone. She’ll say a word or two. It’s heartbreaking, because she’s our world, our pillar of strength.

“Then I see Dad and he’s 92 and with her every single day. But he’s getting delicate now, too. His memory’s going, but I am so grateful that they made that milestone I prayed for – 70 years of marriage in September.”

The singer admits he often gets emotional when thinking of his mum’s devastating health struggles. “It’s a raw pain,” he says. “I’m a grown man, but I still can’t accept in my heart that these things happen to the people I love the most.”

Brought up as a Jehovah’s Witness, Pete says that although he hasn’t technically followed the Christian religious sect since he was 16, he has found himself praying again, “because of my beautiful parents and their health”.

But the star is palpably excited when he opens up about his festive plans with Emily, 36. “Growing up as a strict Jehovah’s Witness, we didn’t celebrate Christmas as kids. So to live the magic through my kids is everything. We really go for it, prepping for Santa, the reindeers and all the magic. It’s a beautiful time of year.”

Emily agrees. “We love Christmas. It comes from my family. We always go big, but in a traditional way with stockings, games, the King’s Speech – and usually me falling asleep watching Home Alone!”

One big change this year is that the Andres are heading out to a local restaurant for Christmas lunch. “We usually prep lunch on Christmas eve. Last year it took Pete and I four hours,” explains Emily. “We always wear matching Christmas pyjamas all day, so this might actually be the year I put on some make-up and a nice outfit.”

“Junior and Princess will probably be the first to bring their stockings downstairs on Christmas morning,” Pete says. “It’s sweet that it’s still their favourite part of the day. We make sure Santa doesn’t forget the adults.”

“Princess and Junior are more excited about opening their stockings than the little ones,” agrees Emily. “We cut up a pair of tights to make them, like my family always did. You can get a lot of stuff in a pair of tights – chocolate, little games, socks.”

The day will kick off with the whole family at home – with Pete and Emily’s children Millie, 11, Theo, nine, and Arabella, 20 months, as well as Pete’s older children Princess and Junior and Junior’s girlfriend, Jasmine.

And their home is gorgeously decked out for the festive season, with two Christmas tress and baubles and foliage adorning their banisters. “Theo and Millie have trees in their bedrooms too,” says Pete. “We use lots of sentimental decorations, like ones the kids have made over the years. The house is sparkling.

“I used to think Christmas wasn’t a big deal, but every year I get really excited now seeing all their little eyes light up. England for me at Christmas is like nowhere else. It’s got a bit of a New York, Home Alone vibe. And there’s a lot of us. It’s beautiful chaos.”

The pair do get into it a little when we ask about whether they’ll go large on the presents this year. Pete says he may go “a little crazy”, while Emily says they most definitely will not.

The eldest of their three children together, Millie, is now an official tween, but both her parents agree that she won’t be disappearing off upstairs to look at her phone on Christmas Day – or throwing any mini strops.

Emily says, “I’m kind of strict on screen time. She’s allowed it for one hour on Saturday and one hour on Sunday, no social media, no WhatsApp and only downstairs. I don’t mind telly as we’re all together, but they don’t have iPads or phones in the week. She doesn’t even complain, bless her.”

Pete admits catering for a family from ‘1 to 20’ can be ‘crazy’ but he loves it(Image: REACH PLC / Dan Kennedy)

“There are no moody moments,” Pete adds. “She’s thriving at secondary school and she loves spending time with us at home. We don’t have to convince her. She’s a sweetheart.”

Pete admits, catering for a family where the ages range from one to 20 can be “crazy”, but Emily says the dynamic works really well. “The older two are so lovely with the little ones,” she says. “ Just today Junior came in and picked Belle up and gave her kisses and cuddles. And Princess is gorgeous with Millie – a real guiding light.

“Millie’s very open with me but she gets really good advice from Princess, and she listens to her as she’s cool and young. They have girlie chats in Millie’s room and that melts my heart. I always wanted a sister for that reason, but I got four brothers instead – which is also great.”

Little Arabella will be a lot more aware this Christmas, which her parents can’t wait to see. They just need to stop her wrecking the decorations. “All I know is my Christmas tree is already getting ruined,” laughs Emily. “She loves the twinkly lights, the presents underneath – she’s obsessed!”

Christmas may be hectic, but Pete and Emily have somehow managed to steal time for some festive romance. “We had a date night the other night,” Emily says. “We go through phases where we’re great, then we go slack.”

“Yeah, it’s so important to remember who you are as a couple,” Pete says. “We’ve started getting date nights back in the diary at last.”

As the couple wind down after a hectic year, they both have big hopes for 2026. Emily’s goal is to move more, she says, before admitting she said the same thing this time last year and still hasn’t managed a workout. She says, “I’m on my feet a lot, but I’m not sure that counts. Isn’t that just being alive?”

Pete, loved-up as ever, would beg to differ. “Yes, and you look amazing! You are 100% going to be like Liz Hurley in your fifties. Whatever she’s doing, she’s doing it right. You’re gorgeous.”

Clearly feeling sentimental as Christmas looms, Pete’s hope is to find “a cure for all the ills of old age, or to slow down ageing altogether.”

The pair have a jam-packed year lined up next year, but they ‘love it’(Image: REACH PLC / Dan Kennedy)

He explains, “It might not be in my lifetime – or my mum’s, much as I’d pray for it – but I hope it’s there in my children’s lifetime. I’m aiming to live to 115, 120. Wishful thinking, but my hope would be our kids outliving us all.”

Meanwhile, next year is already looking jam-packed for them both. Emily’s new children’s book – her fifth to date – hits shelves in January.

Aimed at teenagers and entitled Periods: Everything You Need To Know, she admits it could come in useful soon with Millie.“I’m very proud of it. Millie’s 11, so I know I’ll be needing it soon. She loves my other books, which is the cutest thing.”

As for Pete, he jokes “where do I start?” when asked about next year’s projects. “I’ve written my first ever film, so watch this space. I’ve got a UK tour of Frankie Valli in January, I’ve been recording my first album in over 10 years, a tour…

“And somewhere in between, spending precious time with Mum and Dad and my gorgeous family. Yep, it’s going to be another busy year, but that’s how we like it.”
