The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives star Dakota Mortensen seemingly has thoughts about ex Taylor Frankie Paul going on The Bachelorette to find love.

In a TikTok uploaded on Tuesday, December 2, Dakota, 32, teased his own strategy for “finding love,” writing, “When you realized you can date 30 girls without being on a TV show.”

Dakota’s video wasn’t received too well by fans, with many defending Taylor’s decision to join the ABC dating show in an effort to find The One. Some of Taylor’s costars also came to her defense by throwing shade at Dakota.

“Are you going through Taylor’s friend list to find your 30? Bc that would be v on brand for you 🤣,” Mayci Neeley wrote, to which Dakota replied, “No but I’m all ears.”

Miranda Hope, meanwhile, stood by Taylor’s approach to her personal life. “Respectfully dakota, from what i hear, you’re well on your way my guy,” she added.

Other social media users poked fun at Dakota’s dating history by bringing up his season 3 story line, with one writing, “Does taylor have 30 family members?” Dakota showed he was in on the joke by “liking” the comment.

Taylor, 31, was announced as the lead for season 22 of The Bachelorette in September before season 3 of The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives captured her relationship with Dakota officially coming to an end. Taylor dated Dakota following her split from husband Tate Paul over their viral “soft swinging” sex scandal.

The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives, which debuted in September 2024, captured Taylor and Dakota’s ups and downs before they welcomed son Ever, now 21 months. In February 2023, Taylor was arrested for domestic violence and was ultimately charged with aggravated assault, two counts of domestic violence in the presence of a child, child abuse with injury and criminal mischief after the incident.

Taylor pleaded guilty six months later to aggravated assault, while the other four charges were dismissed with prejudice. She later reached a plea deal. She continued to date Dakota off and on, but they eventually pulled the plug on their relationship over accusations that he was unfaithful.

“We’ve obviously come a long way to navigate [coparenting],” Taylor shared with Us in May. “It’s different from my first husband because there’s obviously a friendship there. We adjusted. Whereas [with] Dakota, everything’s fresh. It’s something that we necessarily didn’t want to do but needed to separate.”

She added: “It’s an adjustment and we’ve had to learn through the obstacles of this experience to do what’s best for our son. Of course when things are heightened, you’re breaking up and it’s not something you wanted and you just had a baby. It was not the prettiest experience, but currently we’ve come a long way.”

Dakota and Taylor briefly considered getting back together while filming season 3, which premiered in November, but claims that he sexted Taylor’s family friend put a stop to the idea.

“I know a lot of people from a viewer point of view [don’t understand that] having everything aired out to the world is a lot different than just going to a person you care about or your family and telling them something,” Dakota explained on an episode of “The Viall Files” in June. “Like, you want to talk about fear, that’s the scariest feeling in the world.”

Dakota pointed out that filming a reality TV show didn’t help their relationship.

“Then doing it with a show, you don’t have any control over it. If they’re missing something, it’s like that’s not how it was. That to me was really hard to grasp,” he recalled. “That was hard to understand. I was like, ‘I don’t want to be torched to the world for it. I just want to have a moment with you where I can talk to you. I want a safe place to talk.’ But that’s not the case.”

As she’s showing him, she says, “That was one, two, and this is three. This is the third side ’cause that’s the second side, and then now you do this side. So it’s gonna be right around here… so it wraps all the way around.”

Kelsey then shows Joey how to properly wrap the gift and fold in the sides, explaining, “While it’s laying down, I’ll tuck in these sides like that, and then pull that side down. Oh, my gosh, you’re a pro! Yay! Good job, give me a kiss.”

Ruby Wax shared an unexpectedly emotional moment with Aitch’s sister Gracie as she arrived back at the five-star Marriott in Surfers Paradise following her dramatic eviction from the I’m A Celebrity jungle.

The 72-year-old comedian, who became the fifth star to leave the show, was welcomed by a crowd of campmates’ families wearing matching  T-shirts with Aitch’s name printed across the front. As Ruby stepped out of her taxi, she headed straight toward Aitch’s family—where 16-year-old Gracie, who has Down’s Syndrome, stepped forward with a huge smile.

The pair immediately held hands, speaking softly to one another in a moment so tender it left onlookers visibly moved. The meeting came just hours after Aitch had broken down in camp while talking about his bond with Gracie. He told the others that “they’re the best people in the world”, adding that although people often praise their own siblings, his sister was “the sickest person I’ve ever met”.

He went on to explain that hearing stories of mistreatment towards children with Down’s Syndrome “makes me feel sick”, before performing a song he wrote for his sister at the Jungle Arms. The tune, which he later released professionally, donates all proceeds to the Down’s Syndrome Association.

Fans watching the scene unfold at home were instantly invested, flooding social media with messages such as: “Aitch has to win. He’s such a lovely man”, and “Bet Aitch’s sisters are so proud of him right now.”

Ruby Wax finally learned the truth after becoming the fifth celebrity to be voted out of the jungle, and declared she’d have to ‘punish’ the pair.

Kelly admitted she was always hell-bent on exposing ‘milkgate’ during an appearance on the show.

She said: ‘You never know when you’re going to be voted out, and when you see big characters like Eddie and Vogue leaving, you’re thinking at any moment it’s going to be me.

‘So I just thought to myself, even when we were kind of talking about the milk bottle thing, I was playing it a bit coy and all “I don’t know if we should” and if we do this that’s going to be my exit strategy.

‘It was a bit of a game play, because you could see that Aitch and Ginge are probably going to be in it till the end, and I thought “you know what, at least I’ve got a little trump card on the exit.”‘

After Kelly’s departure, Aitch and Ginge’s lies came dangerously close to being exposed, and the pair were quick to throw her under the bus by insisting the decision to eat the sweets was her idea.

Ruby also learned the truth about the plot during Wednesday’s episode when she was voted out of the jungle, as hosts Ant and Dec revealed they’d actually eaten 20 of the 30 sweets won in the challenge.

Ruby, who had grown close to both Aitch and Ginge, then declared: ‘I’ll have to punish them when they come out, very badly, I can’t believe it. OK, I will deal with that.’

During Kelly’s interview she also revealed exactly why she thinks she was evicted just days before the final.

‘When you’ve got Ginge and Aitch jumping around… there’s nothing that ages you more than 20 year olds, like they are just flying, bouncing off walls all day long.

‘So because I stayed neutral, that could have been a reason.’

Campmate Martin Kemp has opened up about being reunited with wife Shirlie after his jungle stint. The star – who has been married 37 years – said of her first words: “She told me she loved me…..but that I needed a bath.” He admitted that being apart from her was one of the hardest things he has ever done.

But after seeing her at the end of the famous jungle bridge, he says her first words left him elated. “It was something I was dreaming about hearing for three weeks. It is something that I was dying to hear. It meant more than it has done for years, and I really loved it.”

Speaking to the Mirror at the five-star hotel, Martin laughed as he confirmed he had followed Shirlie’s advice and washed. “I just stank of the campfire….the first shower was brilliant, and being able to take down your pants without anyone looking was superb,” he says. But he admits it was hard making so many memories in camp – and not being able to share them with the one person he wanted to tell the most.

“I don’t see me and Shirlie as separate people. I see us as one, and above all, we share everything,” he says. “Every day, me and Shirley talk to each other, even if I’m away, we FaceTime each other. Whether it’s good news or it’s really bad news, the first thing you do is you phone your partner. That’s the same with me and Shirlie.”

Martin says that Shirlie had a particular reason for wanting her husband to go into the jungle. “When we first spoke about doing it, Shirley said to me, ‘You need to go because you need to learn how to make new friends.’ And she’s absolutely right,” he says.

“I think what I realised about myself is that I’m not very good at making new friends generally…and I think that comes from being in the public eye for over 50 years now, since I was a 17-year-old kid. But after time spent in there, I realised that I could. You know, it’s the first time I’ve done it for a long time, so it was a really lovely experience.”

Once in camp, he found himself drifting between very different personalities and stories. “It was lovely because if I wanted to go and laugh about something, then maybe I’d go over to Ruby or Ginge. If I wanted to talk sensible and learn something, I’d go and speak to Jack, because Jack is just a walking encyclopedia. He’s one of the nicest guys I’ve met for a long time.” During his time in camp, some viewers complained that the Spandau Ballet star wasn’t being given enough air-time, or trials for that matter. But Martin’s instinct in camp was often to step back and let the next generation take centre stage.

“I thought, I am at the end of my career,” he says. “I’m at a point where I’m slowing down a little bit, and the other guys are at the beginning. Why not give them a chance and time and put them in front of the queue. I did the whole helicopter thing and the big trials at the beginning, but I just felt, you know, the young guys were chomping at it, and why not let them go? Labour is scrambling to defend Rachel Reeves amid claims she “lied” to the public over the size of the so-called financial “black hole”.

The Chancellor had warned the public several times “tough decisions” would have to be made at her second Budget because of a £30billion gap in the nation’s finances.

But on Friday, the Office for Budget Responsibility (OBR) revealed it had actually told the Treasury on September 17 the “black hole” was £2.5billion, less than a tenth of what she claimed.

OBR chief Richard Hughes had written to the Treasury Committee confirming “at no point” did the Chancellor face a black hole greater than that amount.

By October 31, the fiscal watchdog said the black hole had disappeared and had in fact been replaced by a £4.2billion surplus.

Just four days later, she gave her pre-Budget Downing Street address warning how poor productivity would have “consequences for the public finances”, while families would need to “do their bit” to plug the gap.

In interviews this morning, the Chancellor claimed she “of course” did not deceive the public when she set out a gloomy economic picture.

“Anyone who thinks that there was no repair job to be done on the public finances, I just don’t accept that,” she said.

The Conservatives and the Scottish National Party have written to the Financial Conduct Authority calling for an investigation into policy leaks in the run-up to the Budget and the Chancellor’s own comments.

Downing Street has denied the Chancellor misled the public, saying she had “talked about the challenges the country was facing”.

He later added: “We’re cutting our debt and our borrowing so we take no risks with the economy… by spending wisely and making fair tax choices.”

Sir Keir is also expected to defend the Budget and the Chancellor in a speech tomorrow setting out Labour’s long-term growth plans.

The PM will say “economic growth is beating the forecasts” but the Government must go “further and faster” to encourage it.

Speaking to GB News, Chief Secretary to the Treasury, James Murray MP, rejected claims Ms Reeves had “lied” about the fiscal “repair job” she faces ahead of the Budget.

When questioned by Camilla Tominey why Ms Reeves had allegedly lied, Mr Murray responded: “She didn’t. I reject your claims.”

He added: “Because what the OBR set out at the end of October in their forecast. And firstly, it set out clearly that there had been a productivity downgrade of £16billion now going into the Budget process.

“We also knew we wanted to get headroom up, and that headroom is critical to helping to get the cost of Government borrowing and to getting mortgages down.

“So we went into the Budget with those priorities and the Chancellor set them out.

“She set out in her speech in early November that we needed more headroom, that everyone was going to be asked to make a contribution and that our priorities in the budget would be to cut the cost of living, cut NHS waiting lists and cut that Government borrowing.”

Reform UK deputy leader, Richard Tice, has called on Sir Keir to sack the Chancellor.

The Boston and Skegness MP said in a letter to Sir Keir “the circumstances surrounding the last few months and the 2025 Budget has been shambolic and shattered confidence for so many”.

His boss, Nigel Farage, has reported Ms Reeves to the PM’s independent ethics adviser, The Telegraph reports.

Mr Tice told GB News: “Confidence is shattered and frankly, we need a new Chancellor in order to restore confidence in our economy.”

Tory leader, Kemi Badenoch, also said Ms Reeves should stand down from her post over the Budget fall-out.

Discussing the Chancellors pre-Budget address on November 4, Ms Badenoch told the People’s Channel: “It was a big press conference. The Cheerios briefing.

“You may remember I was giving a speech that day, and I had to stop what I was doing to watch it. And I just thought, what on earth was that?

“Why is she doing this? She knew exactly what she was doing… She was trying to send a signal to the markets.

“This is why we have written a letter to the Financial Conduct Authority. We think there may have been some market abuse, but the bottom line is that she told a lie.

“She said that there wasn’t any money. The OBR said that there was and has shown evidence that they had told her that she wanted to raise money for welfare and that’s what she did.”

Liberal Democrat deputy leader, Daisy Cooper, said the Chancellor has got “some very serious questions to answer”.

“I really hope that she comes herself to Parliament tomorrow to answer questions from MPs, rather than sending another minister in her stead,” she said.

“The Government obviously is democratically elected. The Government can make decisions, the Government can make those choices.

“But I think that if she’s got one piece of information and then goes out and says that something else is happening, that’s very destabilising for confidence of households and of the market.

“She’s got very serious questions to answer about why on Earth she went out there to do that pre-Budget speech, which is almost unheard of in this country.”

“It still doesn’t feel real.”

Peggy the staffy, the Gold Coast dog who captured hearts across Australia with her unlikely friendship with Molly the magpie, has been diagnosed with cancer.

Last week, owners Juliette Wells and Reece Mortensen shared the devastating news that Peggy needed urgent surgery to remove “an aggressive little cancer on her left side near her ribs.”

The tumour was only the size of a 10-cent coin, but required immediate action.

“It still doesn’t feel real. Peggy is the calm, nurturing soul in our little family. The girl who became famous without ever trying, simply by being herself,” the couple wrote on Instagram.

“She’s the gentle heart who nurtured Molly like her own and is the best mum to Ruby. She opened her world (and all of ours) to that unlikely, magical friendship with a brave little magpie.”

Surgery successful, cancer removed

On Friday, Peggy underwent surgery, and the operation was a success.

“Her surgery went beautifully, and the vets were able to remove all the cancer,” Wells and Mortensen shared.

“They told us she was the best patient — that’s because they got to experience a little Peggy magic today.”

The couple thanked their vet team and asked supporters to keep Peggy in their thoughts as she recovers.

The Peggy and Molly story

Peggy and Molly’s friendship went viral in 2024, when videos of the Staffordshire and the rescued magpie playing together captured the internet’s attention.

But the story took a turn when authorities revealed Wells and Mortensen didn’t have the required permit to keep Molly. The magpie was surrendered, separating the unlikely duo for 43 days.

After widespread public support and campaigning, Molly and Peggy were reunited. And in February 2025, the Queensland government confirmed Molly could stay permanently.

Environment Minister Andrew Powell said Molly is considered “a wild bird,” meaning no permit is required.

Now that Peggy is recovering from surgery, the family is focusing on her health and hoping for a full recovery.
