“Whose Streets?” Fury Erupts for Sixth Week as Crowborough Revolts Against Migrant Barracks and Starmer’s Silent Strategy

Thousands of people are marching on a town for the sixth Sunday in a row to protest against migrants moving into an army barracks.

The camp in Crowborough, east Sussex, will soon have 600 migrant men staying there.

The Daily Mail can reveal around 100 are believed to soon be moving in from another camp in Kent, which is due to close.

Napier Barracks in Folkestone, Kent, is closing on Friday 19 December, with around 100 migrants leaving.

Sources say they will be moving into the base at Crowborough, 50 miles away, in a shocking example of how the immigration system is in disarray.

Locals Crowborough gathered for the sixth Sunday today in a row to protest against asylum seekers being housed in a cadet camp in the town.

Protesters assembled outside the camp’s gates before marching into Crowborough’s town centre.

Organisers expected up to 4,000 people to be in attendance at the protest.

Chants of ‘Whose streets? Our streets!’ and ‘Crowborough says no!’ were heard.

Families carried signs saying ‘Not Racist, Just Afraid’ and ‘Protect our women and girls’.

Many also draped Union Jacks and Sussex Flags over themselves.

Dozens of police accompanied the protest, which went peacefully.

Earlier this week, police were forced to intervene after local residents blocked the gates to the camp, preventing staff working there from leaving.

One protester was dressed as Santa carrying a ‘naughty list’ with politicians including Keir Starmer and local Green Councillor Rachel Millward on it.

Organiser Ryan Holden, 44, said: ‘This is a massive protest against what is being done to us without our say. We understand we’re getting 100 from Kent soon. It’s a disgrace.’

One source at Napier Barracks said: ‘They will be leaving Napier Barracks and will be moving into the Crowborough site.

‘It’s the final days of Napier Barracks, it’s down to dozens of the site and there’s a lot of preparations underway to move them out.

‘It’s migrant hokey cokey. It’s madness really. It’s moving from one problem to another.’

Two security guards said they would be moving to Crowborough.

Crowborough town councillor Peter Bucklitsch said: ‘The Home Office is playing fast and loose with us all. They think they can do what they want. It is not right.

‘I understand they will be coming from Napier Barracks this week. It is outrageous we are not being told.

‘Crowborough is not an anti-migrant place. But we have grave concerns around this. And how the Home Office has handled this is totally wrong.

‘The system is in chaos. There is no solution.’

A Home Office spokesperson said: ‘We are furious at the level of illegal migrants and asylum hotels.

‘This government will close every asylum hotel. Work is well underway, with more suitable sites being brought forward to ease pressure on communities and cut asylum costs.

‘We are working closely with local authorities, property partners and across-government so that we can accelerate delivery.’

One of the world’s richest men rewards the Bondi Beach hero with an UNIMAGINABLE sum: Not all heroes wear capes!

One of the world’s richest men has rewarded the hero who tackled and disarmed one of the Bondi Beach attackers by grabbing his gun.

Naveed Akram, 24, and his father, 50, allegedly opened fire on a Jewish Hanukkah event shortly before 7pm on Sunday, killing at least 15 innocent people and injuring a further 40.

Father-of-two and fruit shop owner Ahmed al Ahmed, 43, has been identified by relatives as the man seen fighting one of the terrorists in a video widely shared on social media.

Shortly after the terror attack, Bill Ackman, a Jewish investment banker, worth more than $9.5billion, said he wanted to reward Mr Ahmed for his bravery.

‘Can someone please set up a verified so we can reward him and his family,’ he wrote on social media.

GoFundMe has since been launched, and Daily Mail understands Mr Ackman has already donated $100,000 to Mr Ahmad.

Mr Ahmad’s family said he remains in hospital where he has undergone surgery for bullet wounds to his arm and hand.

He is seen in the footage, wearing a white T-shirt and crouching behind a car before pouncing on the back of the gunman then grappling with him and snatching the rifle away from him.

The hero is then seen raising his hand before resting the gun against a tree apparently to show police he was not one of the attackers.

His cousin Mustafa told 7News Australia: ‘Still he is in hospital and we don’t know exactly what is going on, the doctor says he is OK.

‘We hope he is okay, he is a hero, 100 per cent he is a hero.

‘He has two shots, one in his arm and one in his hand, he has had to have an operation.’

New South Wales premier Chris Minns described Mr Ahmed as a ‘genuine hero’, while Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese said: ‘We have seen Australians today run towards danger in order to help others.

‘These Australians are heroes, and their bravery has saved lives.’

The shooting has officially been declared a terrorist incident, which will allow ASIO, the Australian Federal Police and its state counterpart to deploy special powers as it investigates the shooting.

Akram was apprehended at the scene of the shooting and taken to hospital under police guard in critical but stable condition. His father died at the scene.

Despite the family being known to ASIO, the father had held a gun licence for 10 years and owned six guns – all of which have been accounted for.

‘One of these individuals was known to us, but not in an immediate threat perspective,’ ASIO Director-General Mike Burgess said on Sunday night.

‘So obviously we need to look into what happened.’

ASIO has since committed to reviewing the issue and searching for others who might be plotting similar attacks, though its director-general stressed there was no indication anyone else in the community had a similar intent.

His mother Verena said the he had told family he had gone to Jervis Bay with his father for a weekend of fishing and swimming before the attack.

‘He rings me up [on Sunday] and said, “Mum, I just went for a swim. I went scuba diving. We’re going… to eat now”,’ she told the Sydney Morning Herald.

‘And then this morning, “we’re going to stay home now because it’s very hot”.’

Verena was unable to identify her son from a photo at the scene of the shooting, but insisted he was a ‘good boy’ who is incapable of violence or extremism.

‘He doesn’t have a firearm. He doesn’t even go out. He doesn’t mix around with friends. He doesn’t drink, he doesn’t smoke, he doesn’t go to bad places,’ she said.

‘He goes to work, he comes home, he goes to exercise, and that’s it.’

He had attended Cabramatta High School and was not particularly social, she said.

He lived at the three-bedroom Bonnyrigg home with his parents and younger sister and brother, around which police set up an exclusion zone on Sunday night.

Police say 13 people died at the scene and another two people, a 10-year-old girl and a 40-year-old man have since died in hospital.

NSW Premier Chris Minns said the victims range in age from as young as 10 to 87.

As many as 12 people remain in critical conditions with the others in serious and stable conditions.

Three children are being treated in hospital.

Witnesses recalled the shooting lasting for five minutes before police intervened.

HEARBROKEN: Kylie Minogue Opens Up On The Heartbreaking Reason She Couldn’t Have Children And Her Quiet Admission Leaves Fans In Tears

‘I wonder what that would have been like’

Kylie Minogue previously revealed that the lifesaving cancer treatment she had meant that she was unable to have children.

The pop star, 57, was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2005 when she was just 36 years old. After going through chemotherapy and surgery, Kylie is now cancer-free.

However, a few years back, Kylie – who is performing on Strictly Come Dancing’s Results Show tonight (December 14) – candidly opened up about the toll her cancer diagnosis took on her fertility.

Kylie Minogue on how cancer ‘changed everything’

Kylie was diagnosed with breast cancer back in 2005 after finding a lump and had to undergo both surgery and chemo.

Fast forward to 2019, and the singer revealed she often wonders how her life would have been different if she had never got sick.

“I was 36 when I had my diagnosis. Realistically, you’re getting to the late side of things [when it comes to having kids],” she told the Sunday Times Style and shared that she was unable to have kids due to her cancer treatment.

Kylie added: “And, while that wasn’t on my agenda at the time, [cancer] changed everything. I don’t want to dwell on it, obviously, but I wonder what that would have been like.”

‘I can’t say there are no regrets’

Kylie continued: “Everyone will say there are options, but I don’t know. I can’t say there are no regrets, so I just have to be as philosophical about it as I can.”

The chart-topper has also previously revealed that she is open-minded when it comes to potentially being a stepmother.

She told the Sunday Times in 2018: “It would be a lie to say there’s not a bit of sadness there, but I don’t get caught up in it. I can’t. I mean, what can I do? And there’s a high probability, if/when I meet someone, that they will have children anyway. So I could imagine being a stepmum.”

Kylie on moment she found out she had cancer

Meanwhile, in 2020, Kylie recalled the moment she found out she had cancer. She told  People: “It’s like the earth had kind of slipped off its axis. You see everything differently.

“I remember having had my diagnosis, but the world didn’t know. I was with my brother [Brendan Minogue] and my boyfriend at the time [actor Oliver Martinez]  — we were all in a daze and went to a cafe.

“The server at the cafe was like: ‘Hey, how are you today?’ We just kind of robotically said: ‘Good, thanks,’ and in that moment I just thought, you really don’t know what anyone is going through.”

‘End of an Era’: Claudia Winkleman and Tess Daly Fight Back Tears as Strictly Surprises Them With Emotional Farewell Tribute

Claudia Winkleman and Tess Daly were left visibly emotional on Sunday night as Strictly Come Dancing stunned its long-serving hosts with a heartfelt on-air tribute, just days before they prepare to bow out for the final time.

The presenting duo, who confirmed back in October that the current series would be their last together, struggled to hold back tears as the judges ambushed them with a moving video montage celebrating their years at the heart of Britain’s biggest dance show.

What began as a routine results-show debrief in the Clauditorium quickly turned into an emotional farewell when Craig Revel Horwood summoned Tess to join the panel. With the atmosphere suddenly shifting, Craig admitted the judges couldn’t let the moment pass without paying tribute.

He told the pair they wanted to say how much they would miss them and how deeply loved they are, before lightening the mood with a trademark quip — thanking Claudia for “the dresses and shoes you’ve thrown my way” and Tess for the legendary pizza parties in her dressing room.

As a VT rolled, featuring messages from Shirley Ballas, Motsi Mabuse, Anton Du Beke and Craig himself, the emotion ramped up. Shirley described the hosts as “magic together”, saying they showed her the ropes when she joined Strictly and that she would miss them “deeply”.

Anton and Craig, meanwhile, teased the duo for their famously questionable dance skills, joking that after all these years neither had managed to learn a single step — and that they would “keep dancing… badly”.

The montage also dipped into Strictly history, revisiting moments with the late Sir Bruce Forsyth, including his early years presenting alongside Tess and the vow made when Claudia took over to always make him proud.

Overwhelmed, Claudia told the judges how lucky she felt, calling it an honour to be part of the show, while Tess described the Strictly team as family and said the experience had been nothing short of extraordinary.

To cap the tribute, the hosts were presented with miniature golden glitterball trophies — a symbolic thank-you for their impact on the show.

Viewers at home were just as emotional, flooding social media with messages admitting they were “sobbing”, calling the moment the “end of an era” and insisting Strictly will never feel the same without the duo.

The emotional goodbye continued earlier in the week when Sir Bruce’s widow, Lady Wilnelia Forsyth, surprised the hosts with a recorded message on It Takes Two, praising their elegance, humour and heart — and urging them to “keep dancing”.

Despite admitting the reality of leaving hasn’t fully sunk in yet, both hosts hinted emotions may finally spill over during next week’s grand final — even joking about a possible last dance, despite their self-confessed lack of rhythm.

Behind the scenes, BBC bosses are already preparing for life after Claudia and Tess, with reports claiming a “Golden Ten” shortlist of potential replacements is being put through chemistry tests — but for many viewers, the shoes they leave behind may prove impossible to fil

“We’ve Fought Enough Battles in Life”: Mel Owens & Peg Munson EXPLAIN Why Their Golden Bachelor Romance Is Built on Understanding, Not Conflict

Mel Owens and Peg Munson are still in the honeymoon phase since finding love on The Golden Bachelor.

“We’re 62 years old, there’s nothing to fight about,” Peg, 62, said on the Thursday, December 11, episode of the “Dear Shandy” podcast. “Like, old people should not fight because you know what? There’s nothing to fight about.”

She continued, “If you’re fighting, then you’re one bubble off a plum, come on. All the heavy lifting is done, there’s nothing to fight about.”

Mel, 66, and Peg found love on season 2 of The Golden Bachelor, which aired its finale last month. In the end, Mel and Peg left in a committed relationship without getting engaged. Instead, Mel offered his now-girlfriend a diamond promise ring and the coveted final rose.

Mel concurred that he and Peg had few things to argue about because of their “similar interests.”

“I have my playlist, and I go, ‘I know she’s gonna love the playlist,’ and she loved it,” the former NFL star explained on Thursday. “We’re from similar backgrounds and stuff, and she’s always dancing. I’m like, ‘This is my girl right here.’ It’s a lot of fun, it really is.”

Mel and Peg further revealed that they haven’t overcome any other major issues in their relationship, either.

“She lives in [Las] Vegas, and I live in Orange County, but today I flew in the morning,” Mel said of their long-distance relationship. “I was up and down so quick, I go, ‘Man, the time I woke up and the time I landed was like three hours, which would be quicker than driving.’ That would be a little hurdle, but other than that, [there’s] not really [any].”

Peg, for her part, noted it’s “easy for” her to make plans with Mel since her retirement.

“I retired 13 years ago,” Peg, who used to work as a bomb technician, explained. “I’m back doing my interior design and my flipping houses in real estate. I take jobs that I want to take, so it’s easy for me. It’s easy to do what I want to do when I want to do it. I’m blessed that way, and we both have our health to be able to do that.”

Peg and Mel, who both have children from previous marriages, found an unexpected bond inside the Bachelor Mansion.

“Mel and I had a connection early on. I knew it, and he knew it,” Peg exclusively told Us Weekly in November of falling in love on the Golden Bachelor. “We spoke in [the] fantasy suite and had great conversations. We got to know each other, and that connection was there.”

Mel had been vocal on the show about his hesitancy to get engaged again after his divorce, which fellow divorcée Peg understood wholeheartedly.

“You have to get to know somebody first before you jump into engagement or marriage,” she said. “Mel and I are both realists and we wanted a real foundation and we want a real connection. We don’t want fantasy land, [which] never works out. We’re both old enough to know — and wise enough to know — that’s just, that’s not reality.”

In the meantime, Peg told Us that the pair “made a lot of plans” together throughout the holiday season.

“We’re gonna travel to Toronto and then up to Montreal, where I’ve never been,” Mel teased last month. “So, we’re gonna go there and spend some time in those cities.”

A Christmas Miracle at Last: After Months of Heartache, Separation, and Fear, Magpie Molly and Loyal Dog Peggy Are Reunited — Giving Their Devoted Owners a Gift They Never Dared Hope For, as the Two Beloved Friends Prepare to Share a Long-Awaited, Warm, and Love-Filled Christmas Together

After a year of public outcry, legal controversy and emotional separations, the much-loved animal duo of Molly the magpie and Peggy the Staffordshire terrier are finally set to spend a warm Christmas together — much to the delight of their global fanbase.

The unlikely friendship between a wild magpie and a domestic dog captured hearts around the world. Their owners, a couple from Queensland, Australia, chronicled the pair’s daily interactions on social media, building a legion of followers who were enchanted by the scenes of the bird and dog playing, resting together and even mimicking each other’s noises.

But the fairy-tale narrative was interrupted when authorities determined that Molly — a native wild bird — was being held without the necessary wildlife licences. Under Queensland’s environmental regulations, native animals rescued from the wild must be cared for by licensed carers and should not be habituated to domestic animals in ways that might impair their chances of living independently in the wild.

The decision to seize Molly sparked a significant public reaction. Supporters launched petitions, rallied on social platforms, and urged government officials to reconsider. One petition calling for the duo’s reunion garnered tens of thousands of signatures, reflecting the depth of affection the pair had inspired worldwide.

In response to the widespread concern, and after extensive dialogue with the owners, the situation took a positive turn. Molly was returned to her carers and reunited with Peggy — bringing an emotional end to months of uncertainty and separation. The owners shared the joyful news, expressing their gratitude and relief that the pair would be together again in time for Christmas.

Their story is more than just a viral sensation; it highlights the complex intersection between wildlife protection and the digital age’s fascination with inter-species friendships. While many have been touched by the bond between Molly and Peggy, the broader discussion underscores the importance of wildlife welfare and responsible stewardship.

For fans around the world, this Christmas reunion stands as a heart-warming reminder of community spirit, resilience and the universal appeal of friendship in all its forms.

“Fear and Violence on the Beaches” — Masked British Vigilantes Storm Coastal Shores, Slashing Migrant Dinghies with Knives as Tensions Explode and Authorities Face Growing Pressure to Respond

Britons have been filming themselves travelling to beaches in France and ‘destroying’ small  boats – gaining thousands of views in the process

British vigilantes who spearheaded efforts to fly England flags across the country have launched a new anti-migrant protest – attempting to block illegal Channel crossings.

Using the term “Operation Stop The Boats”, members of the group have been filming themselves 𝘴𝘭𝘢𝘴𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘨 small boats before they are used by migrants to cross the English Channel from France.

Posts on social media show members calling for other British men to join them in France, including making a direct appeal to football hooligans, saying “we need to make a stand”.

In one video message shared this week by a member of the Raise the Colours group – the grassroots movement that has seen flags fixed to lampposts, motorway bridges and roundabouts across England – two men are seen evoking military language and the spirit of the British fight against the Nazis in the Second World War.

Claiming to be recording from the northern French coast, one said: “Just like in the 1940s, we must take a stand, and it starts with the men of England and Britain.”

Making an appeal to “firms” – a phrase that refers to football hooligan groups – the other man added: “Our country is doing nothing. Weak government, weaker borders.

“They are doing nothing, so we need to make a stand, boys. Get the lads together, get your firms together, get the lads in the pub, get the lads down the bars, if you’re talking about it and you agree with what we are doing, give us a hand.”

The Government is under pressure to tackle the issue of migration amid a record number of asylum applications, surging small   boat crossings and protests at hotels housing asylum seekers.

On Monday, Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood set out a package of reforms to asylum policies aimed at tackling illegal migration, telling MPs the current situation is “out of control and unfair”.

The latest videos shared by those linked to the Raise the Colours group have separately been referred to as “Operation Overlord”.

Earlier clips showed two men saying they were taking matters of illegal migration into their own hands and filming themselves stamping on and smashing a small  boat’s engine.

In the clips, they refer to themselves as “patriots” and make a number of claims without evidence, such as that they are stopping “rapists and murderers” from “coming to a town near you”.

One video shared by the group
The flag-raising group, who have a combined 100,000 followers on X and Instagram, also posted a plea on X for donations last week, writing that they are: “STOPPING The  Boats, whether the migrants or government like it or not!”

Two videos from the group have recently been shared to the 1.7 million X followers of Tommy Robinson. The far-right figure and former leader of the English Defence League, whose real name is Stephen Yaxley-Lennon, has previously been accused of mobilising football hooligan firms in an attempt to launch anti-Muslim rallies across the country.

Separately, French media reports that the Dunkirk Public Prosecutor’s office has opened a preliminary investigation into “aggravated violence” against migrants by suspected British far-right figures.

One of the details being examined by the French prosecutor is the claim that in September, four men waving British and UK flags verbally and physically attacked migrants on the French coast. It is alleged that they told the migrants they were not welcome in England and proceeded to steal some of their belongings.

The men are not the first anti-migrant figures to travel to France in a bid to take matters into their own hands.

In September, Ukip, Nigel Farage’s former political party, posted a video to their X account showing what appeared to be sleeping migrants in France being woken by people flashing strobe lights in their faces and shouting at them.

Nick Tenconi, Ukip’s current leader, also posted a video captioned: “In Calais hunting for illegal invaders trying to cross into Britain.”
