Prince Harry ‘plotting surprise move’ to hit back at claims he’s Meghan Markle’s ‘spare’

In recent months, Prince Harry has appeared to take a back seat while wife Meghan Markle has taken the limelight by launching her As Ever brand and Netflix show With Love, Meghan – but now Harry is reportedly planning to launch a commercial venture of his own

From launching her Netflix show to selling out the products from her As Ever, Meghan Markle has not been far from the spotlight of late. And the Duchess of Sussex has continued to build her business empire with her podcast on female business founders and by posting snippets of her life on Instagram.

But while Meghan has basked in the limelight, the same can’t be said for Prince Harry, who appears to have taken a back seat after the couple appear to have decided to pursue different career paths. It has led some to label Harry as Meghan’s ‘spare’ in a jibe about his status as a spare to his heir to the throne older brother Prince William.

However, according to the Mail on Sunday, that could be set to change as he attempts to find a ‘new purpose’. The publication reports that Harry will be launching his own commercial venture in the next few months and the same time as concentrating on his Invictus Games Foundation – and it will be one of the first tasks for the Sussex’s newly formed team of advisors.

A source said: “Harry is unkindly described as the ‘spare’ to Meghan’s endeavours. In reality, he has been giving her the space to flourish. Now it is his time to throw himself into exciting new work. Invictus will always come first, but he has also been working on commercial ideas of his own.” The Mirror has contacted the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s representatives for comment.

News of Harry’s commercial venture comes after it was revealed he left a charity “completely gobsmacked” with an unexpected move that follows in the footsteps of his wife, Meghan.

It emerged that the Duke of Sussex has thanked a community project based in Nottingham by making a ‘significant’ donation to help fund its services. The charity, Himmah, says the undisclosed sum will fund more than 650 much-needed food parcels for vulnerable families in the city.

Harry’s donation comes four years after the Duchess of Sussex donated £10,000 with funds from The Royal Foundation for the charity to purchase equipment and fund the Salaam Shalom Kitchen, a joint Muslim and Jewish community project offering hot meals and groceries.

Himmah, which tackles poverty, racism and social exclusion and is based in Gamble Street in the Radford area of the city, said it was “hugely humbled” at Harry’s donation. Sajid Mohammed, director at Himmah, said: “I could not believe it when we got the email. To have been chosen by such a high-profile royal once is amazing, but to have been supported by Prince Harry, too, left us completely gobsmacked.”

In a letter to Himmah released by the charity, Harry said: “Nottingham holds a special place in my heart, having had the privilege of visiting and supporting the community there for over a decade.

“The incredible work Himmah does to address food insecurity, poverty, and social exclusion should be recognised and applauded. I’m happy to be able to play a small part in your mission to bring communities together by creating opportunities and support for those facing hardship.”

Loose Women’s Katie Piper ‘never thought she’d make it to 40’ after devastating attack

Katie Piper has spoken candidly about turning 40 – a milestone she once thought she would never reach following a near-fatal acid attack in 2008

Loose Women star ‘never thought she’d make it to 40’ after devastating attack

Broadcaster and campaigner Katie Piper has described turning 40 as a milestone she never expected to reach, reflecting on the traumatic events that nearly claimed her life 17 years ago.

In an interview with The Times, the Loose Women panellist said she was surprised by the negative societal attitudes surrounding women ageing, particularly given the life-threatening ordeal she endured in her twenties.

“It was quite shocking for me, because turning 40 was only ever positive,” Piper said. “It was a celebration of my life and reaching a milestone I never thought I’d reach.”

Piper was 24 when she suffered life-changing injuries in an acid attack orchestrated by her ex-boyfriend, Daniel Lynch, in March 2008. Just two days after Lynch raped and stabbed her, he arranged for 19-year-old Stefan Sylvestre to throw sulphuric acid in her face.

The attack left Piper with extensive burns and permanent damage, including the loss of her nose, part of her ear, her eyelids, and partial vision in one eye. She was treated at a specialist burns unit in London, where surgeons performed pioneering reconstructive procedures, including the UK’s first use of a skin substitute to rebuild her face.

Her injuries also required extensive surgery to her mouth and tongue. Despite the severity of her injuries, Piper has since gone on to build a successful career in broadcasting and advocacy.

In the years following the attack, she waived her right to anonymity and told her story in the Channel 4 documentary Katie: My Beautiful Face, which brought national attention to the issue of acid attacks.

In 2009, she founded The Katie Piper Foundation, which supports burns survivors through rehabilitation and care. In 2022, she was awarded an OBE for her services to charity and victims of burns and other disfigurements.

She joined the panel of ITV’s Loose Women in 2021 and previously competed in Strictly Come Dancing in 2018. Piper has also published a best-selling autobiography and continues to use her platform to raise awareness about visible difference and resilience.

While acknowledging that her public profile stemmed from the attack, Piper emphasised that she does not want her achievements to be defined by it.

“It’s not like I’m an actress or a pop star,” she said. “I came to public attention as a news story, as a victim of a violent crime. I hope, 17 years on, I’m doing something different, but I think it’s probably unfair of me to say, ‘I don’t want to talk about the burns and the attack anymore.’”

She added: “I think it’s more that I don’t want to attribute my success [since] to that man’s actions against me.”

Katie has had dozens of surgeries over the years(Image: Katie Piper Instagram)

Piper said her continued success should instead be credited to her own resilience and hard work. “If I’m seen on Loose Women laughing about something entirely different or presenting a totally different show, the public starts to accept visibly different people doing lots of different things. And that is when inclusion and acceptance happen,” she said.

Since her recovery, Piper has married carpenter Richard Sutton, with whom she shares two daughters, Belle, 11, and Penelope, 7. The couple had hoped to have a third child but had to reconsider after Piper underwent emergency eye surgery.

Reflecting on the early assumptions made about her future, Piper said she was once expected to live a limited life. “For a long time, it was assumed that I’d be dependent on [my] parents and have a mediocre existence,” she said. “I had to write the rule book for me.”

Daniel Lynch was convicted of rape, grievous bodily harm, and actual bodily harm, and was sentenced to life imprisonment with a minimum term of 16 years. Sylvestre received a life sentence with a minimum of six years and was released in 2018 after serving nine years. Lynch is expected to appear before a parole board next month.

Piper continues to campaign for greater understanding and support for those living with visible differences and remains committed to using her platform to foster greater inclusivity and resilience in public life.

Kate Middleton’s shock reply after she was mistaken for Prince William’s assistant

Despite being one of the most famous women in the world, the Princess of Wales was once mistaken for one of Prince William’s staff – and she had an unexpected response to the mix-up

The Prince and Princess of Wales

The Prince and Princess of Wales have had a busy week hosting garden parties and officially naming warships. And their every move on those outings was followed by photographers. Their royal status means they are one of the most photographed couples in the world, with their images appearing online, in newspapers and in magazines, making them instantly recognisable to most.

But that didn’t once stop Kate being once mistaken for her husband Prince William’s assistant – and her surprise response left them in fits of giggles. The mix-up came several years ago when the couple were visiting the Shire Hall Care Home in Cardiff, and the royal pair got more than they bargained for when they were introduced to resident Joan Drew-Smith.

The unfazed OAP pointed at Kate and asked William: “Is that your assistant?” But Kate handled the situation with a deft touch, laughing and saying to William: “Well, I am your assistant”. She added, “I have been for a long time!”

The latest photos of Kate on an official outing come from Thursday, when she attended the official naming ceremony of the warship HMS Glasgow. Kate was named the sponsor of the state-of-the-art Type 26 anti-submarine frigate in June 2021, a vessel designed to protect the UK’s aircraft carriers.

In 2022, she met Royal Navy sailors from HMS Glasgow at Windsor Castle to hear about the ship’s progress and their experiences in the Royal Navy. During the ceremony, Kate released a bottle of whisky, which broke against the ship’s hull at the event held at BAE Systems’ shipyard in Scotstoun, Glasgow.

After the ceremony, the couple boarded the ship and met representatives from BAE Systems, which has led the delivery of the vessel, and others from the Royal Navy discussed the ship’s capabilities.

Earlier in the week, Kate returned to royal garden parties, attending her first one in two years. She surprised guests by joining her husband, the Prince of Wales, at Buckingham Palace on Tuesday afternoon.

William, dressed in a top hat and morning suit, was hosting the traditional outdoor gathering on behalf of his father, the King. The princess, who is in remission from cancer, missed the 2024 garden party season while undergoing treatment during what William described as a “brutal” year.

Kate, whose attendance was not announced in advance, as is customary for garden parties, was dressed in a yellow Emilia Wickstead dress and hat by Philip Treacy. The couple met guests from a number of their patronages, military affiliations, and passion projects, including Homewards, Action for Children, and Ty Hafan, as well as Duchy of Cornwall tenants.

Among them was the family of aspiring photographer Liz Hatton, who died in November from an aggressive cancer called desmoplastic small round cell tumour.

The 17-year-old, from Harrogate, North Yorkshire, was pictured being hugged by Kate at Windsor Castle just weeks before she died after being invited to take pictures of William at an investiture.

US President Donald Trump’s administration has revoked Harvard University’s ability to enrol international students in an escalating battle – and the move looks likely to impact a major royal, who is a future Queen

A controversial move by Donald Trump has left a major royal’s future in the US hanging in the balance. The US president’s administration has revoked Harvard University’s ability to enrol international students in its escalating battle with the Ivy League school. It says thousands of students must transfer to other schools or leave the country.

The Department of Homeland Security announced the action, accusing Harvard of creating an unsafe campus environment by allowing “anti-American, pro-terrorist agitators” to assault Jewish students on campus. It also accused Harvard of co-ordinating with the Chinese Communist Party, contending the school had hosted and trained members of a Chinese paramilitary group as recently as 2024.

And although a judge granted a temporary restraining order to block the ban, the situation could affect the heir to the Belgian throne, Princess Elisabeth. The future Queen has been studying at Harvard and was set to return to the university for her second year, but could be caught up in the ban on foreign students.

The Belgian Royal Palace’s head of communications, Xavier Baert, said: “We are looking into the situation, to see what kind of impact this decision might have on the princess, or not. It’s too early to say right now.”

Mr Baert said that Princess Elisabeth, aged 23, has completed her first year of a graduate school programme at Harvard and would spend the summer back in Belgium.

The princess is the first of four children born to King Philippe and Queen Mathilde and has been studying for a Master’s in Public Policy. The 23-year-old will make history when she ascends the Belgian throne – she will become the country’s first Queen regent. She has two brothers and a sister and sits ahead of her brothers in the line of succession when Belgium introduced absolute primogeniture in 1991.

Her father King Phillipe became monarch in 2013 when his father King Albert II abdicated due to health reasons. She attended UWC Atlantic College in Wales, which has been dubbed the ‘Hippie Hogwarts’.

It is set in the 12th century St Donat’s Castle on the southern Welsh coast and campus facilities include a library, woodland, an indoor and outdoor swimming pool, and classrooms within historic buildings.

Students are offered activities and subjects like Tai Chi, leadership and Tibetan literature alongside traditional classes. It was founded in 1962 by German educationalist Kurt Hahn, who also set up Gordonstoun boarding school in Scotland, where King Charles attended.

Elisabeth speaks several languages and is described as a keen sportswoman who loves tennis, skiing, scuba diving and cooking. She studied history and politics at Lincoln College at Oxford University and graduated last year before moving to America.

Harvard president Alan Garber earlier this month said the university has made changes to its governance over the past year and a half, including a broad strategy to combat antisemitism.

He said the university would not budge on its “its core, legally-protected principles” over fears of retaliation. Harvard as said it will respond at a later time to allegations first raised by House Republicans about co-ordination with the Chinese Communist Party.

Louise Redknapp revealed she’s ‘been through a lot’ as she discussed her life following her split from Jamie Redknapp. The former couple, who share sons Charley and Beau, announced they had separated in September 2017, and by December that same year, they were divorced.

Jamie went on to marry Swedish model Frida Andersson, with the two welcoming a so named Raphael. Meanwhile, Louise wasn’t in any serious relationships until she met Drew Michael, who is a businessman nine years her junior. In a new interview, Louise admitted she’s still ‘learning everyday you need to love yourself’ as she discussed her personal life.

Speaking to The Sun, she said: “I’ve been through a lot. I’m working on it. It’s not easy. But I’m learning every day that you need to love yourself.

“I’ve finally realised it’s all right to fight for yourself and, if you don’t love you, then you will be useless to everyone else.”

She also touched upon the age gap in her relationship with Drew, saying it’s ‘not that big of a gap’, before adding: “I don’t feel a lot older than him and I don’t behave older.”

Earlier this year, Louise admitted her children saved her from reaching a low point following her split from football star Jamie.

On Fearne Cotton’s Happy Place podcast, Louise explained: “If I didn’t have my kids, I just, I think I would have just given up. I really do. I think I just knew that my kids were my everything and they needed me.”

During the chat, she discussed how the public scrutiny of the breakdown of her marriage affected her. “But I can honestly say, when you’re going through something so personal in your own turmoil in your own way, but then to get the barrage of judgment and nastiness,” she continued.

“I never realised people could be so unkind and say such terrible things. I blew my mind. I was going through a lot as it was.

“I was trying to be strong for my kids, whatever had gone on in our life was private – which I do believe that you’re entitled to no matter what.

“And God, I was such a villain, and I was breaking like I was absolutely breaking. Beyond what I thought it was possible for a human to break and all along I’m still trying to be a mum.

“And it was just like every time I went out, and I was trying to put a brave face on and do things, like that was wrong if I didn’t. I felt like everything I did was so wrong.”

Brooklyn Beckham has been slammed after taking a brutal swipe at his parents. In recent months, David and Victoria Beckham’s eldest son has become estranged from his family, but the fallout has intensified over the past few weeks.

The family drama hit a new high after Brooklyn, 26, and his wife Nicola Peltz, 30, failed to attend any of the celebrations for David’s 50th birthday earlier this month. Despite flying in to London from Los Angeles, Brooklyn and his wife remained at their hotel sparking chaos for the family.

At the time, it was claimed that Brooklyn had wanted a private meeting with his dad, but sources say the family refused this. Now, as the family fallout continues, he’s vowed to always choose Nicola over his family. Taking to his Instagram page, the socialite shared a video clip of himself and Nicola to his 16.3 million followers.

Captioning his post, Brooklyn penned: “My whole world x I will love you forever x I always choose you baby x you’re the most amazing person I know xx me and you forever baby.” His upload, which has racked up over 47,000 likes, was soon flooded with criticism. One fan fume: “Don’t forget your beautiful parents who will always love you unconditionally.”

A second went on to add: “Real love doesn’t make you choose. Why can’t you love your wife AND your family? I hope whatever is going on can be resolved.” Another penned: “Devastated for Victoria. Cruel to so publicly denounce your parents, a good wife would be trying to reconcile you, not divide you.”

“Actually quite sad that you are adding fuel to the fire to further hurt your parents, you only get 1 mum and dad and so many have lost theirs without even knowing they would,” said a fourth. Meanwhile, a fifth commented: “That’s a pretty horrible post aimed at your parents. You might regret all this one day.” “If that was my son saying that, knowing what the post is about, I would be devastated. Blood is thicker than water,” said another.

Nicola and Brooklyn have been at the centre of a family feud for months

However, some were quick to defend Brooklyn, with one writing: “Why all the hate? The love they show for one another is just as beautiful as the love his parents share for one another.” “All the people on here thinking they know what’s go on, its no ones business but theirs,” said a second.

Sources have since hit out at Brooklyn’s “disappointing but unsurprising” dig at his family. Speaking to the Mirror, a source said: “They feel Nicola is creating conflict that isn’t there – or at the very least ramping it up – in order to isolate Brooklyn from his family.

Fans criticised Brooklyn for his brutal dig aimed at his parents

“Yes, Brooklyn is his own man…but Nicola is the one pulling the strings. It feels like she wants him to pick sides – and that’s what’s clearly happening.” But pals close to Nicola say that she and Brooklyn “want nothing more than to be loved and supported.” However, they added that “Victoria and David make that virtually impossible.”

However, friends of the Beckhams have disputed this. A source said: “First, the feud was supposed to be over the fact that Romeo was dating someone Brooklyn had a so-called romantic liaison with…. And then it changed to patently false and unpleasant accusations about David and Victoria’s parenting.

“The narrative keeps changing, and the so-called reasons for Brooklyn not seeing his family keeps stacking up.”

  • Meghan Markle has something to prove’ with latest move as she grows ‘anxious’

Meghan Markle has something to prove’ with latest move as she grows ‘anxious’

Meghan Markle has recently shared a string of unseen photos on social media featuring her children Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet as well as a loved-up snap with Prince Harry for their wedding anniversary – and one royal expert believes it’s part of a plan

Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex, has been on something of a charm offensive, sharing a slew of never-before-seen photos and videos of her family living their best lives in California.

But her wedding anniversary celebration album, which she posted on Instagram last week, became the subject of online chatter, especially because she posted one loved-up snap of herself and Prince Harry from the Instagram account of her new lifestyle brand, As Ever.

According to a royal expert, Meghan has a plan. Former BBC royal correspondent Jennie Bond told new she believes the duchess, 43, is no doubt aware of the ongoing rumours that her husband is unhappy and is keen to silence them. “I think Meghan is a fighter,” said Jennie.

Meghan has been on a charm offensive sharing more personal photos than ever before(Image: Getty Images)

“She will be aware that some people, particularly in the UK, believe rumours that Harry is unhappy, and she’s determined to show that they have a strong marriage and a happy family life.

“I hope that’s true, and there’s no reason to disbelieve her. I think she’s also determined to show that she is a strong character and, from relatively humble beginnings, she has become a successful actress, and now an influencer and entrepreneur. I think she’s anxious to be seen as a successful businesswoman in her own right – and not just because she has lived briefly inside the palace walls and has a royal title.”

The subject of the pair’s royal titles has created controversy, and there is growing speculation about whether Prince William might strip them from the couple once he becomes king. While the former working royals are no longer supposed to use their HRH titles for commercial reasons, they still very much present themselves as the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, titles which were gifted to them by Queen Elizabeth II on their wedding day in 2018.

Meghan’s post on Instagram to mark seven years of marriage

There have been repeated calls from the anti-Sussex camp to strip them of the title, but no indication that King Charles has any intention of doing so. Yet with William, 42, next in line to the throne, rumours have circulated that he might take a different stance, especially since he and Harry, 40, are no longer on speaking terms and, according to Jennie, could be estranged forever.

“Granted, there seems to be a public appetite for stripping them of their titles, but I think it’s unlikely that William would choose to do this,” she said. “It would seem, and in fact would be, quite vindictive.” If William remains permanently estranged from his younger brother, it would be “a sad state of affairs”, she added.

Harry and Meghan’s children – Archie, six, and Lilibet, who turns four next week – were not automatically prince and princess at birth because they were not the grandchildren of Queen Elizabeth II, the monarch at the time.

Harry and Meghan still use their Duke and Duchess of Sussex titles (Image: Getty Images for the Invictus Games Foundation)

But they earned the right in September 2022, when Charles acceded to the throne, and they’re now officially Prince Archie of Sussex and Princess Lilibet of Sussex, sixth and seventh in the line of succession.

Following a backlash from those questioning the decision, given the couple’s earlier move to distance themselves from the royal family, the Sussex camp released a statement which said, “The children’s titles have been a birthright since their grandfather became monarch. This matter has been settled for some time in alignment with Buckingham Palace.”

Meghan stirred up another title debate last month, when a podcast video revealed she had sent a gift basket with an accompanying card to a friend which read, “With the compliments of HRH The Duchess of Sussex.” Sources from the Sussex camp insisted it wasn’t a breach of the agreement, as they are still entitled to use HRH in private.

When they stepped back from royal duties in 2020, a statement from Buckingham Palace said, “The Sussexes will not use their HRH titles as they are no longer working members of the royal family.”

Prince William and Prince Harry with their wives Meghan and Kate(Image: POOL/AFP via Getty Images)

Jennie suspects, given the evidence that Meghan still uses the HRH title, that the couple would be “hurt and angry” if William were to remove them completely. “For Harry and Meghan, it would, of course, be a very public insult,” she said.

“Curiously, even though they have turned their backs on rejoining the working royals, they seem very wedded to the idea that their children should use their royal titles. And Meghan is clearly not averse to using her HRH, even though she was expressly told not to.

“So I’m sure they would be hurt and angry if theirs were taken from them. It would, inevitably, reduce their standing, particularly, perhaps, in the eyes of the American public, who seem to adore royalty. But I simply do not think this is going to happen.”

Another chapter of the Windsor-Sussex divide played out last week, when the Prince and Princess of Wales were included in the Time 100 Philanthropy 2025 list, but Harry and Meghan were not. Kate and William were included in the magazine’s Innovators category for “modernising royal philanthropy” and praised for being “less concerned with cultural preservation and more attuned to social issues”.

Jennie said the couple thoroughly deserves their place on the list, and not getting a mention themselves would have been a blow to the Sussexes.

“I’m sure Harry and Meghan will be disappointed that they haven’t made the list, especially as they have emphasised their focus on philanthropy on their website,” Jennie added. “I wish them well with the work they do, but now, firmly outside the royal family, they simply do not pack the same punch as the prince and princess.”

Major ITV star tipped to leave following daytime schedule ‘bloodbath’

ITV Daytime has been rocked by reports in the past week of major changes – with crew fearing for their jobs after some shows were revealed to be set for major cuts

Lorraine Kelly is tipped to walk away from her ITV daytime show at the end of 2026

Lorraine Kelly is tipped to quit her morning ITV show at the end of next year following a major shakeup to the daytime schedule. Reports over the past week have announced that major changes are on the way at ITV after decades of a fixed schedule.

Fans of TV have watched Good Morning Britain from 6am every week day before the show seamlessly moves into the Lorraine show at 9am. This Morning follows at 10am – with Loose Women taking over at 12:30pm.

But now the schedule is set for a major shake-up – and there are suggestions there is furore behind the scenes as Lorraine’s show is set to endure some of the most brutal changes. Instead of airing every week, the show is to be stripped back to just half the year.

And the long-runing show will be reduced to just half an hour. Now a report has suggested Lorraine will walk away from the show altogether by the end of next year.

A source told The Sun on Sunday: “Lorraine was asked if she wanted to retire, having just celebrated her 40 years on breakfast TV, but she instead chose to see out her contract.

    The Loose Women stars
Loose Women is also due for major changes(Image: ITV)

“Bosses thought it would be an ideal opportunity for her to spend more time with family, especially given how little she was on her own show last year. Many think it is unlikely she will stay on after her current contract and that is further proven by the fact that the boss of her show will be part-time and on a one-year contract.

“She is a hugely valued member of the ITV history and is likely to do other shows at the channel, with some thinking she may explore documentaries, travelogues and passion projects.” The Mirror has contacted a representative of Lorraine for comment.

The Sun’s claims come days after The Mirror first reported rumours Lorraine could quit her show. The presenter is said to have been left devastated by the scale of job losses set to hit the programme which is set to be slashed from an hour to 30minutes. It will also now only air for 30 weeks out of 52.

A source said: “There are genuine fears among staff that Lorraine may decide to walk if the quality of the show they are putting out declines. It’s hard to see how standards won’t fall….and there are questions over whether Lorraine will want to be associated with that. Lorraine and her team are perfectionists – it’s why the show is loved by so many.”

The source said the move was a “kick in the teeth” especially given ITV was crowing this week about the show amassing its highest ratings for four years.

A second insider added: “This is a presenter who has just come back from having an operation, has won a BAFTA, is enjoying record ratings….and then ITV show their appreciation by yanking her off air half the year. Staff are beside themselves, and have been in tears constantly. It doesn’t make any sense given the trajectory the show is on.”

The extreme cuts and changes at ITV are said to be planned in an effort to cut costs at the broadcaster. Other shows to face radical changes in recent months include the iconic soap Coronation Street – which has also seen high profile cast members leave and reports of episode numbers getting cut.

Tensions within the Beckham family have reportedly reached a boiling point, with insiders claiming Nicola Peltz, played a key role in straining the relationship between Brooklyn and his younger brother, Romeo

Allegations have surfaced that Nicola Peltz, who is the wife of Brooklyn Beckham, behaved poorly towards Romeo Beckham’s former girlfriend – a situation insiders say ignited a long-standing tension between the brothers.

Nicola, 30, and Brooklyn, 26, have reportedly been at odds with the Beckham clan after notably skipping David Beckham’s 50th birthday celebrations earlier this month – a move that only intensified speculation of a family fallout.

While some have pointed fingers at Romeo’s current partner Kim Turnbull, 24 – who once briefly dated Brooklyn in 2016 – as the source of friction, those close to the situation claim the seeds of discord were actually sown much earlier.

Sources say the trouble dates back to preparations for Brooklyn and Nicola’s extravagant wedding in Florida in 2022. During the lead-up, and even at the wedding itself, Nicola is said to have completely ignored Romeo’s then-girlfriend, Mia Regan – despite her and Romeo having been together for three years at that point.

Guests were reportedly left perplexed by the bride’s attitude, describing it as “absolutely baffling.” Adding to the awkwardness, Romeo served as one of Brooklyn’s best men alongside their younger brother Cruz, now 20.

“Brooklyn and Romeo have been fighting for a significant amount of time,” a source told the Daily Mail. “They do not get on. It has been so difficult for David and Victoria.”

The brothers, once extremely close and known for doting on their younger siblings Cruz and Harper, 13, have grown apart, the insider added. “Things have been terrible for a long time. It has upset their mum and dad so much. All they ever wanted was a big, happy family.”

According to those familiar with the situation, Brooklyn’s wedding marked a breaking point. Romeo reportedly saw the escalating tension as unnecessary and avoidable.

Though Brooklyn and Nicola have consistently denied any estrangement from the Beckhams, claims continue to swirl that communication has largely broken down between the couple and Brooklyn’s family.

One contributing factor, according to past reports, is Brooklyn’s skepticism about Kim Turnbull’s “motives” in dating his younger brother. This tension is said to have led Brooklyn to feel sidelined – as though the family is favoring Romeo over him. David, sources say, has been “devastated” by the turn of events.

At one point, Brooklyn allegedly requested a private meeting with his parents during the birthday celebrations – specifically to avoid crossing paths with Kim. However, David and Victoria are said to have turned down the proposal. Complicating matters further is the history between Brooklyn and Kim, who dated his close friend Rocco Ritchie, Madonna’s son, back in 2016.

Speaking to the Mirror, a source close to Brooklyn and Nicola revealed the emotional toll the rift is taking on the couple. “Nicola encourages Brooklyn to see his family and is usually the reason Brooklyn does see his family.

“They are both devastated. They cannot believe that Victoria and David refused to see them privately after they travelled all the way to London specifically to try to repair the relationship.”

The source continued: “As parents, it’s shocking that Victoria and David are behaving this way… instead of privately discussing the issue. Victoria and David (appear to) have no interest in finding a solution that works for everyone.”

A separate insider previously told the Mirror: “Brooklyn not turning up was a real blow to David. Brooklyn was close with his dad growing up, but he is married now. His wife Nicola is older and confident in her own right, and so there is distance between Brooklyn and his parents.

“It has become a problem and not something they can keep private because of the way the family uses social media. Things have escalated in recent months, and there is a very obvious rift that David and Victoria would love to heal.”

The Mirror has approached Nicola and Brooklyn’s representatives for comment on this story.

  • Prince Harry is ‘stay-at-home dad without much to do’ according to new documentary

Prince Harry is ‘stay-at-home dad without much to do’ according to new documentary

After Prince Harry appeared ‘distressed’ and ‘broken’ in his latest bombshell BBC interview, a new documentary delves into whether he can ever be forgiven and what he needs to do to win back hearts

    Prince Harry
Royal expert says Prince Harry has lost his identity and is a stay-at-home dad

Prince Harry has made it clear that despite his differences with his family, he would like to end the drama, especially because of his father’s ill health.

In a bombshell interview with the BBC earlier this month, the Duke of Sussex revealed he would love to make it up with his father as life’s too short. “Life is precious,” he reflected.

“I don’t know how much longer my father has… but it would be nice to reconcile. I would love reconciliation with my family, there’s no point in continuing to fight anymore.”

But the prince, who was once one of our favourite Royals, must first find his new identity according to experts.

In the new Channel 5 documentary Harry: Can He Ever Be Forgiven?, commentators asserted that Prince Harry has found himself in a difficult position because he has no role in the Royal family and no defined role in the USA either.

“How is he spending his life?” Politician and author Ann Widdecombe asks. “What is the aim? I’ve heard people say that he’s a stay-at-home dad without much to do… possibly? Even Harry must occasionally ask himself, ‘Where is all this going?’”

And the British politician isn’t the only one who believes the Duke of Sussex is struggling with his identity after leaving the Royal family and the UK.

Psychotherapist and author Emma Reed Turrell said, “I think Harry is up against a universal challenge, which is one of identity. Who am I? Who was I? Who am I becoming? Who am I allowed to be? What will be acceptable?

“We can all relate to that – when people leave any kind of institution, there is a huge transition that happens for someone as they re-enter the atmosphere and look for purpose again and look for identity.”

The comments come after Prince Harry received a backlash of criticism after his bombshell BBC interview, in which he clearly expressed distress after losing his legal battle over taxpayer-funded security.

During the interview, dad-of-two Harry insisted he couldn’t bring his family to the UK because it wasn’t safe after losing his legal battle. And he also made a startling claim in relation to the tragic death of his mother, Princess Diana.

Referring to losing his legal challenge for taxpayer-funded security, he said: “I don’t want history to repeat itself – from the disclosure process I’ve discovered that some people want history to repeat itself, which is pretty dark.”

He may not have named names, but there’s little doubt that Harry was talking about the tragic death of his mother, Princess Diana, who died in a car crash in Paris in 1997 after being chased by paparazzi.
