    The 62ft vessel has four bedrooms, four bathrooms, a kitchen and a remarkable upper deck living area.

    Ola Kallenius, the Mercedes chief executive and Toto Wolff’s boss, has reportedly approved the team’s move for Red Bull driver Max Verstappen from 2026.

    Despite being officially under contract with Red Bull until the end of the 2028 season, Verstappen has been heavily linked with a move to Mercedes during recent weeks.

    Christian Horner, the now-former Red Bull team principal, confirmed to the media last year that Verstappen’s deal did contain a “performance element” that could allow him to leave the team prematurely – and their struggles this season could see that become a reality.

    Italian outlet La Gazzetta dello Sport has claimed that Kallenius has now given his sign off to the arrival of Verstappen, which frees Wolff up to go and pursue the Red Bull driver, who has cut a frustrated figure given the team’s massive drop off in form this year.

    It is understood that Verstappen will be free to trigger an exit clause if he is lower than fourth in the Drivers’ standings after the Hungarian Grand Prix at the start of August, which is the last race before F1’s summer break.

    Currently the Dutchman sits third in the championship with an 18 point lead over fourth place man George Russell, who could yet lose out if Verstappen did join the Silver Arrows. Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc sits a further 28 points back in fifth.

    Russell, who won in Canada last month, is looking to land himself a new deal with Mercedes as his contract runs out next year. He is aware that talks with Verstappen are taking place, but believes he is performing well enough to merit his spot. “It’s only normal that conversations with the likes of Verstappen are ongoing,” he told Sky Sports.

    “But from my side, if I’m performing as I’m doing, what have I got to be concerned about? There are two seats in every Formula 1 team.”

    It means young star Andrea Kimi Antonelli could be the man to lose out despite signing a multi-year deal with the team which began this year. Wolff insists they are trying to keep their drivers in the loop amid their chase of Verstappen.

    “What we are trying to do in the team is be transparent,” he said. “You can choose to hold things under wraps, or do what we’ve done in the last 20 years I’ve been here is putting it out there and saying this is the situation. These drivers are clever people and they talk to each other.

    “I’m saying it how it is and there’s no such thing as saying we are going to sign Max, because it’s so far away that it’s not realistic at that stage. So with George, we talk about everything.”

    Sebastian Vettel has ruled out making an F1 comeback – insisting his time at the top of the sport is “over”.

    The four time world champion retired at the end of the 2022 season, as he sought to spend more time with his family and pursue other passions away from motorsport.

    That led him back into education, working on environmental projects and promoting women’s karting in Saudi Arabia – as well as punditry work on F1. In 2024 he was touted as a replacement for Lewis Hamilton at Mercedes and Sergio Perez at Red Bull, but the 38-year-old has always stuck by his decision that he won’t return behind the wheel in F1.

    And that is something he continues to insist upon, telling Auto Motor und Sport: “Formula One is over. At some point, the time is ripe to leave the field to others. You can see that especially with the rookies.

    “I think it’s good that a whole group of drivers has been replaced. This isn’t a vote against the old drivers, but rather for the young drivers. I didn’t care in the past which of the established drivers was no longer racing. The main thing is that I get to drive.”

    Vettel is still eyeing an attempt at the Le Mans 24 hour race however, even putting together a full-time programme in the WEC. He completed test drives in Porsche’s 963 Hypercar, but was not selected in the manufacturer’s lineups for either 2024 or 2025.

    “I don’t want to rule out the possibility that something might come of it,” he said. “There have been discussions, but somehow it hasn’t worked out yet.”

    Discussing his change in attitude towards WEC racing, Vettel continued: “To be honest, I wasn’t that interested in endurance racing from my lone fighter perspective. I see it differently now. I find it incredibly exciting, this team structure, sharing a car, and making compromises.”

    He added: “In motorsport, it’s difficult to say: I’ll only drive half the races. The WEC would actually be a good fit with its eight races, which are also structured differently than Formula One.”

    McLaren driver Lando Norris has sold a majority stake in his gaming and lifestyle brand Quadrant to Veloce Media Group, which is backed by legendary Formula One car designer Adrian Newey. Norris founded Quadrant in 2020 with the aim of combining eSports, content creation and apparel.

    The racing star has now sold a significant share of the business to Veloce, the world’s largest digital racing media network, after recently revealing a rebrand.

    The investment will see Norris retain more than a 20 per cent stake in Quadrant, meaning he will remain its second-largest shareholder, while his name and brand will continue to be licensed to the company.

    Veloce and Quadrant have been working together since Norris launched the brand during the pandemic. And with its growing presence and a reported £12.8million in annual revenue last year, Veloce has now acquired a stake to further its expansion in the motorsport sector, having already held shares in the company prior to the deal.

    Newey, one of the most successful engineers in F1 history, is the lead visionary at Veloce alongside his son, Harrison. The race car designer is well into his fifth trophy-laden decade, having won 12 World Constructors’ Championship titles between 1991 and 2024 for Williams, McLaren, and Red Bull Racing.

    The 66-year-old is currently the managing technical partner and a shareholder at Aston Martin F1, having joined the team in February 2025 from Red Bull with the aim of leading their 2026 car project.

    Norris and his father, Adam, were previously the largest shareholders in Quadrant through their company, Celero Promotions. Other investors included McLaren F1 CEO Zak Brown and Norris’ manager, Mark Berryman, through his Add Management firm.

    Quadrant’s latest financial reports showed losses, with a negative total equity of £405,221 for the 2023 fiscal year, following the closure of a seven-figure investment round in January 2024.
