Prince Harry’s team bites back with stunning rebuke after William ‘banish’ claim!

Prince Harry’s team has rejected claims he’s now ‘seriously worried’ about being exiled from the UK when his brother Prince William takes to the throne in later years

‘People who know the least about him always have the most to say,’ a spokesperson for Harry said

Prince Harry’s team has bitten back at claims he is “seriously worried” about being exiled from the UK by his brother Prince William when he takes the throne. “Harry is seriously worried that when his father dies one day, William will literally banish him and he will have no status in Britain at all,” said royal author Tom Bower in a recent interview with the Mirror.

But Harry’s team rubbished the claims and a spokesperson said Harry retains a desire to reconnect with his family following a long-running and very public feud. Harry continues to live in the US with his wife Meghan Markle.

“It’s funny how the people who know the least about him always have the most to say,” the spokesperson told GB News. Recently, Harry himself said he would “love reconciliation” with his family. “There’s no point continuing to fight any more, life is precious,” the Duke of Sussex said.

(Image: In Pictures via Getty Images)

Of the feud with his father King Charles III, Harry said that disagreements regarding his security when he is in the UK has left the two not being on speaking terms.

Harry’s level of security changed in 2020 when he and Meghan stepped down as working royals and moved to California for financial and personal freedom, and he suggested the royal family and officials hoped his realisation of the increased safety risk “would force us to come back”. The duke failed in an appeal against the dismissal of his High Court claim against the Home Office, over the decision of the Executive Committee for the Protection of Royalty and Public Figures (RAVEC) that he should receive a different degree of protection when in the UK.

Harry, a father of two, said he wants the feud to end because he “does not know how much longer my father has”.

Harry said he has now “forgiven” his family. But he added: “I can’t see a world in which I would bring my wife and children back to the UK at this point.”

Some steps have been taken to close the rift. The Sussexes’ chief communications officer Meredith Maines and their UK PR chief Liam Maguire were seen with communication secretary for the King, Tobyn Andreae. Photos of the meeting at the Royal Over-Seas League near Clarence House were obtained by the Mail on Sunday, which cited an insider saying there were “things both sides wanted to talk about” but no “formal agenda” for the talks. The Mail reports that it is not known which side initiated the meeting.

The rift between the Sussexes and the royal family widened significantly following their 2021 interview with Oprah Winfrey, during which they alleged a member of the family was concerned about their son Archie’s skin tone before he was born.

Then the duke claimed in his controversial memoir, Spare, his brother the Prince of Wales had physically attacked him and that the King put his own interests above Harry’s and was jealous of Meghan.

Jessie J admitted ‘some days are harder than others’ as she shared an honest update a month after her breast cancer surgery. The Price Tag singer was diagnosed with “early” breast cancer and underwent crucial surgery last month, with the star sharing frequent health updates with fans on social media.

She’s currently in recovery and took to her Instagram page this week to tell fans she’s ‘feeling good’ despite ‘some days’ being harder than others. Along with a compilation video of snaps of her holding her son Sky, she wrote: “It will be 4 weeks since my breast cancer surgery on Saturday. I am feeling good. Some days are harder than others.

“My movement is good, still very sore, but I am getting more like myself every day. Mentally it’s all catching up with me. So giving myself a little space to feel it all. It’s a [rollercoaster] for sure.”

Jessie said her son and her partner have been on holiday visiting the family members while she rested.

“Sky has gone away for 2 weeks with his Dad to his Danish fam, but also so I can rest and do physio. (And re organise the whole house with my Mum and my sister as my body) lol. My adhd and ocd still going strong.”

She went on to say: “I’m not allowed to pick Sky up for a few months and that has been a difficult adjustment, I just want to hold him like this and spin around. But in the bigger picture it’s a small sacrifice to have my health and to still be here.”The day will come I can lift him up for a cuddle. I can’t wait for that day. That day is what gets me through these days. These days are weird. I love being your Mum Sky. I miss my boys.”

Fans rushed to the comment section to share their support, with one user writing: “you are so strong!! Sending you so much love,” and Amy Dowden posting: “Sending so much love!”

“Such immense strength and courage , none of know how strong we are until put to the test , the human spirit is incredible,” one fan commented.

Three weeks ago, Jessie J shared a sweet clip of her son Sky, who she shares with basketball player Chanan Colman, singing at the studio as she smiled proudly at him.

She wrote: “This is so special. This little boy is the brightest light in my whole world.” The star has been updating fans throughout the difficult journey, and provided one two weeks post surgery.

At the time, she wrote how she went into ‘survival mode’ after being diagnosed.

  • Gogglebox star ‘bullied by abusive dad’ in horror admission!

Gogglebox star ‘bullied by abusive dad’ in horror admission!

Larry Lamb has opened up about his tough upbringing at the hands of a father who ‘bullied him’ – but admits proudly as he chats candidly with son George that he has ‘broken the cycle’…

Larry admits his son George delivers some ‘hard truths'(Image: Ken McKay/ITV/REX/Shutterstock)

Larry Lamb may be best known as level-headed dad Mick in Gavin & Stacey, but the actor says his own path to fatherhood hasn’t been so simple. Born in Middlesex, the 77-year-old had a turbulent childhood, raised by a verbally abusive father – previously admitting that he “lived in fear” growing up.

Sitting down with OK! for an exclusive chat alongside his son George, 45, with whom he has been an armchair critic on Gogglebox, Larry says he was worried about his abilities to raise children before he finally “broke the cycle”.

The pair have a very tight relationship(Image: Tim P. Whitby/Getty Images)

“If you are not fathered well, you’re not going to be a good father yourself. You’re just not. So, of course that was a worry,” says Larry. As well as George he also has three daughters – Vanessa, 56, who he isn’t in contact with, and Eloise, 26, and Eva, 22, whose mother is Clare Burt, who he split up with in 2014.

Crediting George’s mum Linda Martin, who he split up with in 1996, for his ability to become a great father to his three youngest children, Larry says, “She cut the cycle because my poor old dad was bullied by his dad and was passing it on to me. So, she realised that was not going to allow George and me to flourish – and she stepped in. So, big points to Linda. She broke the cycle and made sure it didn’t happen again.”

George adds, “My mum did a lot of the heavy lifting when I was little. She was the disciplinarian. So that meant that me and my dad got to be friends, you know? While that was tough on Mum, the good news is, me and Dad got to be mates, despite it all – and that was quite beautiful.”

Gavin & Stacey icon Larry recently said he’d ‘quit acting’ aside from minor roles(Image: Alan Chapman/Dave Benett/Getty I)

Clearly enjoying a close relationship, Larry and George say they’ve both taken life lessons from one another. “I feel loved unconditionally by my dad and that’s a really nice feeling, says George. “It feels very grounding, very safe.” Larry adds, “That’s it. Too often, love is transactional, but there’s no transaction between me and George or any of our family.”

Chatty and relaxed as we talk, the duo crack jokes with each other like it’s second nature. But Larry admits he hasn’t always been so happy-go-lucky. It was only when he hit 60, he says, that he let go of some heavy emotional baggage.

“As you get older, you don’t take things for granted any more,” he says. “That’s what went on in my life – if good things came along, I was taking them for granted. Now, I realise that I’m actually very fortunate if things are going well for me.”

He doesn’t look back on his past with regret, however. “It’s a big enough deal to realise that you’ve not done things as sensibly as you might have, so there’s no point in having regrets,” says Larry. “You’ve just got to get on with it and arm yourself with that knowledge, make yourself a better person.”

George believes his dad has ‘mellowed’ with age(Image: Elephant House)

George has noticed a shift in his dad, saying he has become softer with age. “I’ve got little sisters who are 20 years younger than me and their dad and my dad are different. Even though he was the same person, he was a very different dad,” he explains, saying his siblings got a “lighter” version of Larry.

But in many ways, the pair seem alike and with such similar personalities, it’s no surprise that George ended up following his father into showbiz. Fronting shows such as The Bank Job and Big Brother’s Little Brother, George was one of TV ’s rising stars. But the former TV and radio presenter – who, laughing, admits people approach him in the street to ask how ‘Mick’ is doing – did quite the 360 in recent years, turning his sights towards regenerative farming.

He now co-owns food and farming company Wildfarmed and clearly has no regrets about ducking out of the limelight. “I had lots of amazing experiences in showbusiness, but a lot of the time I didn’t know why I was doing what I was doing,” he says. “Now, I get up every day and understand my purpose. With Wildfarmed, we’re trying to grow food in a way that works in harmony with nature rather than against it. So, it makes me feel good every day. I feel blessed.”

“George has changed now,” Larry interjects proudly. “He’s got a real sense of value knowing what he’s doing and why. It’s a joy to see him in his mid-forties and a new man compared to when he was working in showbiz. He’s hit something that’s clearly driving him.”

Larry says his son is a ‘new man’ since he quit showbiz and started farming(Image: Shared Content Unit)

George and Larry evidently enjoy each other’s company and are working alongside National Rail on its 36 Questions To Connect campaign, designed to encourage travellers to get to know friends and family they’re taking train journeys with better. While they may have thought they already knew each other well, they say they learned even more through the questions during a recent journey.

“You know what’s baffling about my dad?” George asks. “He’s been on Earth for a long time and he’s lived a very full life so, even though you think you’ve heard all his stories a thousand times, every time we hang out I’m like, ‘Wow, this is a new bit.’”

With one of the questions asking for one quality they admire in each other, Larry told George on their train trip that it was his honesty. “He does give me some hard truths!” says Larry. “Whether you like it or not, you’ll get honesty from George. But I’m fortunate that I’ve got somebody who does that – you need it.”

George adds, “I’m always honest – I don’t want surface- level relationships. There’s enough of that in the world and I certainly don’t want that with my loved ones – and someone has to keep my dad in check!”

Charli XCX and The 1975’s George Daniel marry as fans gush over ‘beautiful’ dress!

Singer Charli XCX has married The 1975s George Daniel and the pair have been spotted posing as newlyweds just minutes after their ceremony came to an end

Charli XCX and The 1975 drummer George Daniel have married. The pair looked over the moon as they posed outside Hackney Town Hall on Saturday.

Brat queen Charli looked sensational in a white mini-dress, with a heart-shaped neckline, as she held onto her bouquet of flowers while posing for pictures. Their wedding comes just days after George returned to the UK, having been in Ibiza with his bandmates, including Matty Healy, for his stag do.

Amidst reports that the couple would be splashing the cash and inviting dozens of famous faces, the Mirror can reveal that Charli and George tied the knot in front of just 20 of their closest friends and family. Shunning the huge showbiz aspect of their lives, the newly married couple even walked to Hackney Town Hall.

While George’s bandmates, Ross MacDonald and Adam Hann, were in attendance, lead singer Matty Healy didn’t attend the ceremony.

Fans have been left gushing over the newlyweds, with one writing: “She looks so good.” A second penned: “OMG, shut up she looks beautiful.” “Congratulations, Charli and George,” said a third. Meanwhile, a fourth exclaimed: “Pop royalty just got their crown. Congrats to Charli and George!”

While Charli and George rarely share an insight into their personal life, she has said in the past that neither she nor her now husband were hugely fussed on the formal aspect of being man and wife.

Speaking to Harper’s Bazaar, she said: “We’re both very chill and we kind of just want to have a party. Neither of us are particularly formal about marriage or care about the formalities of the ceremony or whatever. We just want to be together forever and have a party with our friends.”

It was previously reported that the pair would be heading to Sicily and the budget was not a conversation they wanted to have and agreed there would be no expense spared. “Charli and George fell in love with Sicily and knew they wanted to get married there,” a source said.

They went on to add to The Sun: “It’s incredibly secluded and romantic. There will be no expense spared. It’s costing tens of thousands of pounds, and visually it will be mesmerising. Charli and George said they wanted a massive party, and there are no restrictions on when the bar has to close, so it can go on all night.”

The insider commented that the ceremony would be filled to the brim with celebrities as the pair walked down the aisle. George popped the question to Charli in November 2023, just a year after the couple started dating one another. However, they had met one another at an awards event in 2019.

Taking to Instagram, she shared a snap of the couple kissing one another as they embraced each other, she said: “Charli XCX and George f***ing for life!”

Another snap showed Charli’s diamond engagement ring in its box, sitting between two cups of tea. Two years after first meeting one another, Charli and George worked together on the No Rome track, Spinning, before collaborating while she was creating her 2022 record, Crash.

They went public with their romance just one year later in May 2022 and even dedicated her song, Talk Talk, from her smash Brat album to George, while fans also believe her songs Welcome to My Island and Everything Is Romantic could be about the musician.

In a 2023 interview with The Sun, Charli spoke of George’s influence on her career and creative process.

EastEnders’ Anthony Trueman set to return to soap with emotional reunion after 11 years!

EastEnders have announced yet another return to Albert Square, as Patrick and Yolande are set to be surprised by a special guest during their upcoming nuptials this summer

EastEnders fans can prepare for yet another iconic return to Albert Square this summer, as Patrick Trueman (Rudolph Walker) will be reunited with his son Anthony as he and Yolande prepare to tie the knot.

Nicholas Bailey will be reprising his role as Anthony Trueman 11 years after he was last seen on screens. Anthony was last seen in 2014, when his father suffered a stroke. He’s been away ever since, but of course, he receives an invite to his father’s wedding – and it’s an offer he can’t decline.

Although he’s back for the wedding, Anthony’s stay ends up lasting longer than he expected as he uncovers what has been going on in the Trueman household…
    Anthony Trueman
Anthony will be returning for Patrick’s wedding

Anthony’s return is just one of the many legendary returns to Walford under new Executive Producer Ben Wadey’s time in charge. During his first episode last month, EastEnders fans were left in shock when Michelle Ryan reprised her role as Zoe Slater after two decades.

The soap has also recently seen the return of Oscar Branning and Julie Bates, with Max Branning (Jake Wood) set to return this autumn.

Speaking about his return, Nicholas said: “It is an unexpected treat to return to EastEnders and I’m full of gratitude to get the opportunity to revisit the character of Anthony. It’s wonderful to work with Rudolph Walker again – he’s such a big part of my journey as an actor and I loved filming my first scenes with him after so long.

“I’m excited to see what the passage of time has done to Anthony and explore his relationship with Patrick at this stage in their lives.”

Adding to this, Executive Producer Ben Wadey said: “It’s great to welcome Nicholas back to the EastEnders family to reunite Patrick with his son. But Anthony’s plan for a brief return to surprise his father ends up with him staying longer than he expected when he uncovers what has been going on in the Trueman household.”

During his time on the Square in the early 2000s, Anthony had relations with Kat Slater (Jessie Wallace) and her daughter Zoe Slater. Could we be seeing more drama with the Slaters?

Nicholas has always been interested in returning to the soap, previously stating that he was “ready to go back,” two years after his exit.

“My wife wants me to get back to work,” he told The Express in 2017. “She’s desperate for me to do [EastEnders] – so I will.

“I’ve had two years off and I think that was enough for me. I’m ready to go back if they’ll have me. It’s the best gig on TV.”

  • Meghan Markle’s ‘worrying’ plans to ‘outshine’ royals that left Palace terrified!

Meghan Markle’s ‘worrying’ plans to ‘outshine’ royals that left Palace terrified!

The Duchess of Sussex has openly admitted her struggles when adjusting to royal life, but one royal author says her plans when operating as a working royal left Buckingham Palace worried

Meghan Markle allegedly thought royals behaved like babies
Meghan Markle allegedly thought the royals behaved like babies

Meghan Markle’s life changed overnight when she met Prince Harry, and it’s no secret that she struggled to adjust to royal life before the couple’s self-exile to the States.

And she’s not the only one who found life inside palace walls a heavy cross to bear. The late Queen’s sister, Princess Margaret, famously resented playing “second fiddle” her whole life, and Prince Philip’s world was upended when Elizabeth II suddenly became monarch. Princess Diana’s painful divorce led to her suffering with depression, for which she claimed she got no support from the royal family.

Despite struggling with the contraints of royal life at times, few would try to break the mould in an establishment that prides itself on tradition. But not only did the Duchess of Sussex try to map out her own personal career as a working royal, she also tried to ‘outshine’ other royals – including the late Queen – according to a royal author.

Meghan famously struggled to adjust to royal life

Tom Quinn, writing in his royal biography Yes Ma’am, claims that Meghan sparked panic in the Palace during her short stint as a working royal when she indicated that she wanted to operate separately from the Queen.

The author penned: “Buckingham Palace became really worried when they became aware that Meghan had plans for her life as a working royal that were not going to be part of a general strategy agreed with the staff – she just wanted to do her own thing.

“Which is fair enough if you’re not a member of a tightly controlled institution, but it was never going to be acceptable that Meghan should outshine Princess Anne, Prince Charles [as he then was] and Elizabeth the Queen.”

Speaking to the author, a former courtier for the late Queen said: “Elizabeth always had to be the centre and focus of everything the Royal Family did and I don’t think Meghan understood why that had to make her do things she didn’t want to do.

“She didn’t understand that when you join the Royal Family, you don’t do as you please, you do as you’re told. In a sense, you become a servant of the family.”

    Meghan with the late Queen
The Duchess ‘didn’t understand’ why she ‘couldn’t do her own thing’(Image: Getty Images)

According to insiders quoted in the book, Meghan found it hard to get her head around the many protocols and traditions associated with the Firm – and she allegedly had a scathing assessment of the senior members.

Quinn writes: “Meghan really disliked the hierarchy,” a member of her former team said. “Many of the rules do seem pretty pointless and exist only so that the relative status of each senior royal is protected. And the senior royals are such a sensitive bunch — if one gets a gold pen or a new car, they all want one. Meghan thought they behaved like babies.”

The Sussexes recalled Meghan’s introduction to royal life in their six-part Netflix docuseries, Harry & Meghan, and discussed her first meeting with the late Queen after they began dating in 2016.

“My grandmother was the first senior member of the family that Meghan met,” Prince Harry said in the docuseries. “She had no idea what it all consisted of. So it was a bit of a shock to the system for her.”

Meghan then shared that while they were on their way to meet the Queen, Prince Harry asked her if she knew how to curtsy. “We were in the car, driving and he’s like: ‘You know how to curtsy right?’ and I just thought it was a joke,” the Duchess admitted.

Prince Harry said explaining royal protocol to Meghan was ‘weird’(Image: Chris Jackson/Getty Images)

Prince Harry acknowledged the difficulty of explaining royal protocol to his American girlfriend, saying: “How do you explain that to people? How do you explain that you bow to your grandmother? And that you would need to curtsy, especially to an American. That’s weird.”

Meghan also compared curtsying to Medieval Times, Dinner and Tournament, a dinner theatre featuring medieval-style games, and joked that “Americans will understand this”.

She then recreated the deep curtsy she gave to the Queen, bowing her head dramatically and spreading her arms wide. “It was like that. Like, I curtsied as though I was like… pleasure to meet you, Your Majesty,” she said. Her reenactment drew some criticism from viewers who claimed that the Duchess was being “disrespectful” towards tradition.

  • Presenter and actor Ore Oduba breaks down in tears after falling for scam!

Presenter and actor Ore Oduba breaks down in tears after falling for scam!

He was contacted by what he thought was the woman who had changed his life

Ore Oduba has revealed that he fell victim to a scam

Presenter, consumer journalist and Strictly star Ore Oduba has revealed that he fell victim to a scam after being contacted by someone he thought was one of his heroes. Oduba, who once taught people how to avoid scams on BBC show Claimed and Shamed, has shared a tearful admission after believing he had been contacted by life coach and author Mel Robbins.

Oduba, 39, has shared a six-minute video on Instagram saying scammers targeted him after he shared his passion for Robbins, who has 20million followers thanks to her life-changing theories – including the book The Let Them Theory.

The scam came after Oduba had appeared on ITV’s Loose Women and shared his love of Mel Robbins, then took to social media.

He said: “I reposted that interview, I tagged the Mel Robbins podcast, tagged the Let Me theory, tagged Mel, tagged everybody who cared, and then I got an email from my agent who forwarded on an email from the team at the Mel Robbins podcast. I could have cried – they knew who I was! I got an email from the Mel Robbins podcast team.”

He added: “I told Mel everything. How she had changed my life. And I literally said at the end of the email, even for you to know who I am, is everything. Thank you so much for getting in touch.”

Oduba broke down in tears as he said he was then invited onto the Robbins’ podcast – one of the biggest 15 in the USA. He said: ” I’m reading this back and I know exactly how it made me feel at the time. I wrote back and I said, ‘Mel, I’m holding back tears. Is this for real? You must have AI helping you correspond with all of these fans.’

“Mel wrote back, “of course it’s me – it’s Mel Robbins.” So then I lost my s**t, I absolutely lost my s**t, in tears on an Avanti West Coast train from Birmingham to London, thinking that my whole life was about to change.”

He added: “By the way, I used to host a show about scammers. I have watched enough Watchdog to last a lifetime – that doesn’t stop me being in the middle of it. I never thought I’d be the person that would be scammed.”

When he calmed down, Oduba realised the email had come from a Gmail address – and Mel Robbins name had been spelled incorrectly. He contacted the Mel Robbins PR team via her official website, and was fake.

He wrote on the Instgram post: ” I’m ashamed, I’m embarrassed and I’m human. Did not think I would be the kind of person who could be scammed, but this proves it really can happen to anyone. Especially with the help and manipulation of AI . I’m terrified how easily I was ‘hooked’. It was SO convincing, it’s scary.”

Mel Robbins reads her smash hit book “The Let Them Theory,

He added: “I’ve made no secret of how much Mel Robbins, her book and podcast have helped me through a really difficult period.

“Truth is I turned an emotional blind eye to something I so deeply wanted to believe was for me and nearly got myself into a whole heap of trouble (sidenote.. I’ve realised in making this video how often we do the same thing in relationships too!)

“Listen to your gut, it’s most likely telling you the truth. And don’t get scammed, it’s no fun.

“Still inspired by and love Mel Robbins and so grateful to them for their swift response. I got lucky – it could so easily have been too late.”

Ore Oduba is a prominent British TV and radio presenter, actor, and stage performer. He first rose to national attention as the presenter of CBBC’s Newsround from 2008 to 2013 and later went on to host shows like The One Show, This Morning, ITV ’s game show Hardball, and BBC’s charity specials including And They’re Off! for Sport Relief.

Ore broke down as he explained the story

His big breakthrough came in 2016, when he won the 14th series of Strictly Come Dancing, earning both critical acclaim and mass affection. That victory launched him into further public-facing roles—from guest presenting on BBC Radio 2 to hosting the Strictly Live Tour to performing at events like the Royal Wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.

Beyond broadcasting, Ore is also an accomplished stage actor. Since 2019, he’s been in musicals like Grease (UK tour), Curtains (West End debut in January 2020), Pretty Woman (UK & Ireland tour), and roles in The Rocky Horror Show. His screen acting debut was in the BBC drama Noughts + Crosses, and he made it through to the finals of Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins in 2021.

Emily Andre has shared sweet snaps with her youngest daughter Arabella days after revealing her harrowing birth story. The 35-year-old welcomed her third child – who is known as Belle – with husband Peter Andre last April.

She also shares daughter Amelia, 11, and eight-year-old sun Theo with singer and actor Pete, who she married in 2015.

The couple posed for photos with Belle at a lavender field while the sun was out last week. Wearing a white dress that matched her mum’s, they were careful not to show her face on social media – like all their kids.

But fans got a tiny glimpse of the youngster as she played amongst the flowers – and the one-year-old is already starting to walk. Though it’s not clear if she can do it on her own yet or still needs mum and dad to give her a helping hand.

NHS doctor Emily captioned the post: “We made the most of the sunshine while it lasted, turns out Belle’s favourite part wasn’t the flowers… it was the bees.”

And fans were quick to compliment Belle’s fine head of hair. One wrote in the comments underneath: “Ahh she’s adorable – her hair!” Another of Emily’s 715,000 Instagram followers said: “Belle’s got gorgeous hair, doesn’t she? Beautiful photos, guys.”

A third commented: “Oh my goodness Emily and Peter, these pictures make me quite emotional, the lavender setting and the pure beauty seeing you both with baby Belle, my heart.”

“Awww Belle’s walking. They grow up so fast!! Love the Greek genes there,” a fourth posted. A fifth said: “Gorgeous family. Belle is a beauty.” While a fifth added: “I went to lavender fields with my grandbabies a couple of weeks ago. They loved it as much as little Belle x.”

The family day out comes a week after Emily shared traumatic details of Belle’s birth for the first time and said her and Pete, 52, – who is also dad to son Junior, 20, and daughter Princess, 18, from his marriage to ex-wife Katie Price – wouldn’t be having any more children.

Speaking about Belle’s birth, Emily said: “I haven’t really spoken about her birth and what happened afterwards, because it was so hard and awful. But yeah, it was tough. Like, I was really unwell after she was born.”

She told Giovanna Fletcher’s Happy Mum Happy Baby podcast: “So I had a really rare type of hernia that was quite large. And, this is actually quite disgusting to talk about, but basically, part of my bowels were kind of in the wrong place.

“The type of hernia that it was can strangle the bowel quite easily, and then that becomes a real emergency.

“I knew things weren’t right after she was born, because I had a big, huge lump in my tummy – kind of sticking right out. So they got me back after a week to follow up, and they said, ‘We need to get the surgeons to come and look at you.’

“This was in the evening. The surgeon literally looked and said, ‘You need to come into hospital — like, now.’ And I was like, what do you mean? I just did not want to.”

Emily was rushed in for surgery after learning her bowel had actually come out. She continued: “So I had to go back for emergency surgery. Belle was a week old, so I kind of had to hand her over. That was the worst bit – I had to hand her over and go in for another operation.”

But in one ‘sweet moment’ that made her smile, Emily says the porter who took her down to theatre was the one who brought husband Pete into the same room when her dad operated on him – leading to the couple meeting and marrying years later.

Denise Welch reveals she’s going back to acting as ‘bloodbath’ cuts loom over Loose Women!

‘I’m going to make a concerted effort to go back to what I do and know’

Loose Women star Denise Welch has revealed she’s planning on focusing on her acting roots amid ITV’s ‘bloodbath’ cuts.

ITV announced “efficiencies” back in May, which affect scheduling and production for programmes such as Good Morning Britain, Lorraine, This Morning, as well as Loose Women.

Following confirmation of the cuts, Denise insisted in a defiant seven-word statement, saying: “There’s life in the old girls yet.”

Now, she’s opened up on what her future looks like, away from the show…

Denise Welch on Loose Women feud claims

Speaking to the Mirror in May, 67-year-old Denise – who first appeared on Loose Women in 2005 – reflected on how the show has evolved over the years.

She noted it was “never a staple of the daytime schedules like it is now”. That’s because Loose Women aired in cycles during which it was on the box for three months, then off for three months. Denise also acknowledged episodes can be affected by events like the racing. However, she added: “We’ve got our place.”

I think people can forget what I really do, and what I’m really good at.

The former Corrie actress also made mention of how she believes Loose Women’s strength is featuring panelists across a range of ages. She then made it clear she is delighted to be involved in a show that continues to celebrate that.

Denise went on: “What other show not only employs older women [but] reveres and celebrates the voices of older women? There’s life in these old girls yet.”

    New focus amid ITV cuts

However, in a new interview with OK! this weekend, Denise has shared that her focus will be shifting as the cuts roll in.

She revealed: “I’m on television because I’m gobby and opinionated, and I think people can forget what I really do, and what I’m really good at, so I’m going to make a concerted effort to go back to what I do and know.

“I’m proud of some of the things I’ve done as an actress. It might sound big-headed, but it’s the one thing I say I’m [bleep]ing good at. And I’m going to concentrate on reminding everybody of that!”

    Denise’s acting credits

Denise has also had a number of high-profile roles on some of the country’s best-loved soaps.

She played Rovers Return landlady Natalie Barnes in Coronation Street between 1997 and 2000. She’s also known for her part as teacher Steph Haydock in the BBC’s Waterloo Road. And, more recently, Trish Minniver in Hollyoaks.

Alexandra Burke’s heartbreak after tragic family death: ‘She died in my arms’!

    ‘She just spiralled’

Alexandra Burke previously recalled the heartbreaking moment when her beloved mum ‘died in her arms’.

The singer – who is on Celebrity Catchphrase today (July 20) – shot to fame when she won the X Factor in 2008. Since then, she’s remained booked and busy, releasing several albums and also starring in a ton of musicals.

In 2017, she played Deloris Van Cartier in the Sister Act musical. However, as she was touring the UK, her mum Melissa Bell died aged 53.

Alexandra Burke on her mum’s health spiralling

During an appearance on Elizabeth Day’s How To Fail podcast in 2021, Alexandra reflected on her mother’s death. The TV star also revealed her regret at not quitting the Sister Act tour when her mum had a stroke eight months before her death.

“When my mum fell sick it all happened so suddenly, she just spiralled,” she recalled.

Alexandra went on: “Everything was fine one minute and then all of a sudden she had a stroke. It was like she was two different people.

“I had eight months left and I sat her down in hospital and said: ‘Mum I’m going to quit the tour,’ and do you know what she said? ‘First of all I didn’t raise a quitter and she said you get your black [bleep] on stage. People have paid to watch you perform.’”

Alexandra ‘would sleep on the hospital floor’

Alexandra went on to share that she continued with the tour but had her phone by the stage so she could get updates on her mum’s condition.

“If something had happened to her I would leave the show and then I would drive wherever I was Manchester, Sheffield, I would sleep on the hospital floor, then drive back to London. I would see to family, stay the night and go back and do the show,” Alexandra said.

“I can’t tell you how amazing the NHS doctors and nurses when they sat her down and told her ‘you have 72 hours to live’, she gave us another eight months.

“She gave us another Christmas, a birthday each, a Mother’s Day.”

Alexandra’s mum ‘died in her arms’

Alexandra then recalled the moment Melissa passed away. She shared: “Then the last day of my show, I finished in Blackpool, I was driving back to London. I got a call saying: ‘You need to come to hospital now.’ So I drove to hospital and, within 10 minutes, she died in my arms.

“So I lost those nine months, I regret going on tour. I regret it so deeply, I had so much time on the road rather than with my mum. I should have just told my mum: ‘Look you’re my priority, I want to quit the tour and be with you.’”

She added: “My mum wouldn’t have want it any other way but putting work first that is something now I won’t do at times. I was 29 when my mum passed away and I was so lucky to have my mummy for 29 years. What we shared, our memories we created together, money can’t buy that.”
