Sir Richard Branson’s daughter Holly has praised her parents’ open-mindedness and “unconditional love” after she identified as a boy for seven years. In a post dedicated to her Joan on her 80th birthday, Holly shared all the things she learned from the “open-minded, empathetic and kind” mother.

The daughter of Virgin CEO billionaire Richard said alongside a throwback picture of mum Joan: “The last few weeks have been filled with so much love and magical family moments. As a family, we love to be surrounded by people (strangers and friends alike), great food, good music, bad dancing, and lots of laughter. My heart is full after an early celebration of @bransonsam ’s 40th birthday onboard @VirginVoyages quickly followed by wonderful mum’s 80th birthday at @KasbahTamadot.”

She said: “My mum hates to be in the spotlight, but I’d love to share some of the most precious lessons I’ve learnt from her. Lessons that have shaped me; guided me; and that I carry into every corner of my own life. Thank you, Mum. There are no words that can truly express the love we feel for you.

Holly went into the first lesson she learned, which was ‘unconditional love’ as she praised her mum’s quality of loving people unconditionally.

She posted: “I cannot tell you how thankful I am and how empowering it is to have someone there who loves without judgement and lets people carve their own path.

“When we were kids, I’m sure we drove Mum wild sometimes. Forty years ago, the world was very different and having a daughter who decided from the age of four that she wanted to be a boy must have been difficult to navigate back then. Mum (and Dad) never made me feel like I was strange in any way, and I am so thankful to them both for this. “

Holly added: “Mum has always been so open-minded, empathetic and kind. Truly letting me and Sam be totally free to become the people we wanted to be.

“To take the path in life that was right for us without any pressure to do things differently. At times when Etta, Artie and Lola say or do things that make me want to pull my hair out, I call on my inner Joan.

“I remember that they are just learning how to express themselves, exploring new feelings and finding their own passions. I’ve realised that unconditional love and support also comes with a large helping of patience – thank you for teaching me that, Mum. And breathe!”

Holly previously opened up about being a boy for several years of her childhood. Speaking on TV presenter Natalie Pinkham’s podcast, she explained: “At the age of four, I decided I was a boy. It wasn’t that I wanted to be a boy – it was that I was a boy.

“It was just after my brother was born and… maybe I wanted to be like him. This wasn’t just a quick thing that stopped after a few months or years, it lasted until I was nearly 11.

“I was so lucky to have parents that were really accepting of it, that they didn’t question any of it, they let me be who I wanted to be.”

  • ‘I annoyed Queen Elizabeth II’s family and caused uproar at Buckingham Palace’!

‘I annoyed Queen Elizabeth II’s family and caused uproar at Buckingham Palace’!

When Queen Elizabeth II was about to turn 70, Prince Edward and other family members planned a lavish birthday surprise – but Buckingham Palace was upset as plans were leaked

A journalist has today told how he annoyed Prince Philip when he unwittingly “ruined” Queen Elizabeth II’s birthday surprise.

Richard Kay was unaware the monarch did not yet know about designs for her 70th birthday, and so his story was published in his newspaper. It caused “uproar at Buckingham Palace” as royals, including Prince Edward and Prince Philip, had prepared a boat trip along the River Thames to the famous Waterside Inn at Bray, Berkshire, for the Queen to enjoy a meal.

“I was accused of spoiling a surprise party, and told that the Queen, because of the very nature of her role, got very few unexpected treats and I had ruined one… There was uproar at Buckingham Palace,” Mr Kay wrote.

When the journalist later reported on one of Her Majesty’s overseas tours, during which she hosted a garden party, Prince Philip spotted him talking to a group of the Queen’s ladies-in-waiting. Philip, it is understood, then told them off for talking to “that bloody man”.

Mr Kay, who recalls the “boat episode” in today’s edition of the Daily Mail, was quietly asked to avoid the Queen at the garden party as she was still upset about the story. She rarely had surprises for her birthday due to the nature of her role and so, in 1996, her family had hoped to pull out all the stops for her big day.

But when royal reporter Mr Kay became aware of the plans, he prepared a story for the Daily Mail as protocol for his role. He was not conscious Her Majesty did not yet know anything of the treats. Both Princess Diana and Sarah Ferguson were accused of leaking the story to Mr Kay – but he insists they were blameless.

Queen Elizabeth II would usually head to the luxurious Ritz Hotel in the heart of London for supper on her birthday. Surprises like the one Philip and Edward had planned were rare due to the nature of the monarch’s work.

The monarch had two birthdays – an official one in June as well as her own in April – as was the famous historic tradition. Princess Elizabeth Alexandra Mary was born on April 21, 1926, to The Duke and Duchess of York (later King George VI and The Queen Mother) and while she never expected to come to the throne, she has carried on one of the monarch’s most famous annual celebrations.

The tradition dates all the way back to King George II in 1748, who combined the annual Trooping the Colour with his birthday celebrations, even though he was born in November.

  • Inside Sharon and Ozzy Osbourne’s ‘oddball marriage’ and key to their lasting love!

Inside Sharon and Ozzy Osbourne’s ‘oddball marriage’ and key to their lasting love!

Through Ozzy Osbourne’s chaotic rock ‘n’ roll lifestyle, there was always one constant – his devoted wife Sharon staying by his side

Sharon and Ozzy Osbourne were married for 43 years though they nearly split in 2016(Image: Instagram)

Sharon Osbourne will be waking up today on her first morning without her beloved husband Ozzy. The heartbroken mum to their three children announced yesterday that the Black Sabbath legend had sadly died at the age of 76.

Paying tribute to her husband of more than 40 years, Sharon said: “It is with more sadness than mere words can convey that we have to report that our beloved Ozzy Osbourne has passed away this morning. He was with his family and surrounded by love. We ask everyone to respect our family privacy at this time. Sharon, Jack, Kelly, Aimee and Louis.”

Sharon first met hell-raiser Ozzy in the 1970s via her father Don Arden, who was the first manager of Black Sabbath. After taking the chaotic frontman under her wing, Sharon devoted her life to supporting Ozzy until the day he died.

Here’s everything you need to know about their marriage.

When did Sharon and Ozzy meet and get married?

The pair first met when Sharon was just 18 and she said it was far from love at first sight as she found he and his band ‘odd and hairy’ and found them scary to be around.

“I went to see their show that night with my father, they performed at this club in London and I was so in awe of what I was seeing,” she said. “And then when I saw him, how electric it was, I was blown away and that’s when I became interested in Black Sabbath.”

Sharon says what happened next was a classic ‘workplace romance.’

In 1979, Sharon’s dad sacked Ozzy from Black Sabbath because of his substance issues. It was his concerned daughter Sharon who then came to his aid as he lay holed up in a hotel room for three months, with Sharon stepping in to help him recover. She eventually encouraged him to launch a solo career.

“He was so funny and quick-witted yet very vulnerable. And I just thought he was the funniest, sweetest guy I’d ever met because he was so vulnerable about everything, and that just attracted me to him,” she said.

But things weren’t easy because Ozzy was married and had two children. When the divorced was finally finalised, he and Sharon tied the knot on July 4, 1982 in Hawaii just months later.

Ozzy later admitted he’d put Thelma ‘through hell’, but his marriage to Sharon endured an even rockier ride.

Who was Thelma Riley, Ozzy’s fist wife

Ozzy met his first wife Thelma at a Birmingham nightclub where she worked in 1971.

They married the same year and then had two children together, named Jessica and Louis. Ozzy also adopted Thelma’s then-five-year-old son from a previous relationship.

The singer referred to his first marriage as a ‘terrible mistake’ and admitted in the 2011 documentary, God Bless Ozzy Osbourne, produced by his son Jack, that he couldn’t even remember when his eldest children were born.

    Sharon biggest heartbreak

In their lowest moment, Sharon discovered emails that revealed Ozzy had been unfaithful with celebrity hairdresser Michelle Pugh between 2012 and 2016.

Sharon revealed that she tried to take her own life with an overdose in a heartbreaking admission.

It caused the couple to temporary split with the couple’s spokesman confirming at the time that they “mutually agreed” that Ozzy would move out of their marital home.

Sharon said having an affair with someone she knew was by far the most painful thing he’d put her through. “He always, always had groupies and I was so used to that. But when he knows the name of the person, where they live and where they work… it is a whole different thing as you are emotionally invested. I took, I don’t know how many pills.”

Speaking on stage as part of her UK tour with friend and Loose Women star Jane Moore, Sharon continued: “I just thought, ‘My kids are older, they are fine and can take care of themselves. So, I took an overdose and locked myself in the bedroom. The maid tried to come in to clean the room and saw me.”

The mum also confirmed the couple’s split during an appearance on US chat show The Talk in 2016. “I’m 63 years of age, and I can’t keep living like this,” she said. “I’ve been avoiding looking at any pictures or reading anything. I know what’s going on. I don’t need to read about or see about it. It’s like putting salt in a wound. I don’t need to… He’s back, and now I’m out of the house.”

“I felt like a fool. It was as though everyone else had known about it and that everybody was laughing at me. I felt very humiliated and belittled.”

    Why Sharon stayed

Sharon said people were waiting for her to leave for good but she ultimately, after a brief break while she got over the shock she returned. Speaking about he reasons why, she said: “I’m not just his wife, I’m his manager. When he hit rock bottom I didn’t walk away I pulled him through the mud and put him back on stage.”

She continued : “$800 net worth but do you really think I stayed for mansions and champagne?”

In 2023, Ozzy was diagnosed with Parksinson’s, “He didn’t want to stop so I pushed him forward,” said Sharon.

“Tours, recordings, promo I showed up for all of it. I stayed to hold up the name Ozzy Osbourne until the very end.”

She added: “A therapist would diagnose him as an addict and me as a nutter but we are totally co-dependent.”

    Secret to their happy marriage

Sharon and Ozzy both said the secret to their long marriage was easy – it was all about acceptance. The pair said they learned early on to accept and embrace each other’s flaws.

Sharon also said it helped that they were “cut from the same mold – knowing they were both eccentric and neither perfect but seeing their uniqueness as a positive.

You can’t change anything. It’s acceptance,” Sharon said. “Of course, the bottom line is love but you accept each other as you are.

“We’re both oddballs. I might look quite normal, you know, the way I dress, but normal is not a word I use often.”

This Morning’s Alison Hammond fights tears as she reveals Ozzy Osbourne regret!

This Morning’s Alison Hammond was on the verge of tears as she revealed she was invited to go to Ozzy Osbourne’s last Black Sabbath gig, days before his death, but didn’t go

Alison Hammond became emotional as she revealed a major Ozzy Osbourne regret live on television. The presenter, 50, was in her usual hosting duties as she presented This Morning on Wednesday following the news that the Black Sabbath rocker had died at the age of 76, and revealed that the music legend’s son Jack had invited her to what turned out to be his final ever gig in their shared hometown of Birmingham at Villa Park – but she missed the text message.

She said: “It’s so so sad. Do you wanna know something? I had a message from Jack saying ‘Come to the concert.’ I didn’t see the message. He said ‘My mum wants to extend the invitation.’ I didn’t see the message, and literally, I looked at it today and I missed it.” The Big Brother legend was on the verge of tears as she admitted: “I feel so, so bad because I could’ve gone to see him. I’m so sad. But I did watch the concert and I thought it was unbelievable.”

Alison was joined by Dermot O’Leary, Camilla Tominey, and Tom Swarbrick to discuss the sad news

Alison was joined by Dermot O’Leary, Camilla Tominey, and Tom Swarbrick to discuss the sad news of the rock icon’s death, but when the topic turned to the reality show Ozzy and his famous family spearheaded in the early 2000s, things took an even more emotional turn. Remembering her fondness for the groundbreaking series, Alison took a deep breath to stop the tears and said: “It was so good.”

Meanwhile, prior to landing This Morning, Dermot was best known as presenter of The X Factor during its heyday and when Ozzy’s wife Sharon served as a judge, which meant he got to meet the late music star when he made guest appearances on the competition.

He said: “Behind it, they were just lovely, normal people. I met him a few times, I was really lucky. We did judges’ houses a few times. Quite often, you’d go to a nice hotel and say it was judges’ houses. But Simon’s house, and Sharon’s house, you literally went to their house. Sharon’s house was amazing.”

Dermot noted that the house was just ‘full of love’ and whilst Ozzy appeared to be ‘bemused’ by the ITV format that found stars such as One Direction, Little Mix and Leona Lewis, he was always ‘so lovely’ when they filmed in his house.

He recalled: “They moved a lot of the time, so you’d often go do a different… You’d be brought into this scene of brilliant domesticity, they were like lovebirds. It was so sweet to see. As soon as you walked in, you walked into a family full of love. There would be dogs everywhere, cats climbing up the wall. Loads of staff, but not staff, they were all family.

“You could be filming Sharon and Ozzy was just shuffling in the background. He was so bemused by The X Factor, but was always lovely. Once I went to the toilet, I tried to find it, ended up in his study and I was like ‘Oh God, I shouldn’t be here!’ And he crept out and we bumped into each other and he said ‘Let me show you!’”

It comes just weeks after the frontman performed on stage for the final time for his Back to the Beginning show at the home of of Aston Villa, Villa Park. The family statement announcing his death read: “It is with more sadness than mere words can convey that we have to report that our beloved Ozzy Osbourne has passed away this morning. He was with his family and surrounded by love.

“We ask everyone to respect our family privacy at this time. Sharon, Jack, Kelly, Aimee and Louis.” The family message was preceded by a location stamp, that read: “Birmingham, England July 22, 2025” – revealing that Ozzy made it back home for one last time.

BBC MasterChef series featuring Gregg Wallace and John Torode will air on TV after serious allegations!

The BBC have confirmed that Gregg Wallace and John Torode’s final series of MasterChef will air on TV – and have even confirmed the date it will be available for viewers to watch

The final amateur series of MasterChef featuring Greg Wallace and John Torode will be airing on the BBC. The series, which was filmed last year before allegations against Gregg Wallace and John Torode were upheld, will be broadcast on BBC One and BBC iPlayer from August 6, the corporation said.

A spokesperson for the BBC said the decision was made “after careful consideration” and said it “no way diminishes our view of the seriousness of the upheld findings against both presenters.”

“After careful consideration and consultation with the contestants, we have decided to broadcast the amateur series of MasterChef on BBC One and BBC iPlayer from 6 August,” a spokesperson said. “MasterChef is an amazing competition which is life-changing for the amateur chefs taking part. The focus of it has always been their skill and their journey.

“This has not been an easy decision in the circumstances and we appreciate not everyone will agree with it. In showing the series, which was filmed last year, it in no way diminishes our view of the seriousness of the upheld findings against both presenters,” they continued.

“We have been very clear on the standards of behaviour that we expect of those who work at the BBC or on shows made for the BBC.”

“However, we believe that broadcasting this series is the right thing to do for these cooks who have given so much to the process. We want them to be properly recognised and give the audience the choice to watch the series.

John Torode and Gregg Wallace have been axed from MasterChef – but their final series together will still air (

    BBC/Shine TV)
“At this stage we have not taken a decision on the celebrity series and Christmas special, which was filmed earlier this year, and we will confirm our plans later in the year.

“Most importantly MasterChef is a brilliant, much-loved programme which is bigger than any one individual. There are many talented, dedicated and hard-working people who make the show what it is. It will continue to flourish on the BBC and we look forward to it returning stronger than ever in the future.”

Gregg Wallace’s position on MasterChef became “untenable” after 45 out of 83 allegations of inappropriate behaviour were upheld following a seven-month investigation.

John Torode was later axed from the show after he confirmed he was the person alleged to have used racist language. John said he had no memory of making the comment. Torode said he had “no recollection of the incident” and was “shocked and saddened” by the allegation.

In November 2024, it was revealed that Gregg would be stepping down from his role on the BBC cooking show while historical allegations of misconduct were investigated. He issued an apology saying he was “deeply sorry for any distress caused” and that he “never set out to harm or humiliate”.

It was then revealed that Grace Dent would be stepping in as a judge for Celebrity MasterChef 2025, which she filmed alongside John Torode before he was later sacked.

Sharon Osbourne has spoken out following the death of her beloved husband, Ozzy, who died aged 76 on Tuesday after medics fought to save him for hours

Sharon Osbourne has spoken out after the death of her husband Ozzy. On Tuesday, she and her family announced that the Black Sabbath frontman had died surrounded by his loved ones at the age of 76.

His family said: “It is with more sadness than mere words can convey that we have to report that our beloved Ozzy Osbourne has passed away this morning. He was with his family and surrounded by love. We ask everyone to respect our family privacy at this time. Sharon, Jack, Kelly, Aimee and Louis.”

The music manager responded to a tribute to her husband, shared by musician Gavin Rossdale. Responding, Sharon, known affectionately as Mrs O, commented on Gavin’s post: “Bless you.” She later responded to a moving tribute shared by Radio 1 broadcaster, Jack Saunders. The presenter became emotional on air as he broke the news of Ozzy’s death.

Taking to Instagram hours after his broadcast, Jack said: “As I was on air tonight, the news broke that we had lost one of the greatest showman the world of metal and music has ever seen. The bands and artists that dare to fly the flag in the name of rock n roll do so because Ozzy Osbourne and Black Sabbath did first. He was a blessing to music. Rest In Peace the Prince Of Darkness.”

Sharon responded: “Jack thank you for your tribute to Ozzy tonight, bless you.” Meanwhile, Sir Elton John, a close friend of Sharon and Ozzy, also shared a moving tribute.

The Rocket Man hitmaker shared a picture of himself and Ozzy, and wrote: “So sad to hear the news of @ozzyosbourne passing away. He was a dear friend and a huge trailblazer who secured his place in the pantheon of rock gods – a true legend. He was also one of the funniest people I’ve ever met. I will miss him dearly. To Sharon and the family, I send my condolences and love.

“Elton xx.” Ozzy’s health deteriorated on Tuesday, days after his final performance at his Back To The Beginning concert at Villa Park, the stadium he loved, the home of Aston Villa. In recent years, his health had worsened following his Parkinson’s disease diagnosis in 2003, which he only shared in 2020.

An air ambulance landed close to Ozzy’s Buckinghamshire mansion at around 10:30am on Tuesday, and medics spent hours attempting to revive the Black Sabbath musician. A local resident said they became alarmed after noticing the helicopter in the quiet village and saw it landing close to Ozzy and Sharon’s mansion.

They told the MailOnline: “All of us were talking about it and wondering what had happened. We immediately feared it may be for him as he was known to be in fragile health. When we heard later that night that he had died it confirmed our worst fears.”

A spokesperson for Thames Valley Air Ambulance said: “We can confirm that our helicopter was dispatched to provide advanced critical care at an incident near Chalfont St Giles yesterday.”

The chopper took off from RAF Benson in Oxfordshire and arrived after just 15 minutes. The red aircraft is used to treat patients requiring the most critical care. Today, Ozzy’s sister told the Mirror how she was glad he was able to die in England, after he had been yearning to return home, having spent two decades in Los Angeles.

Returning to England was something Ozzy had been extremely passionate about, having spent two decades in Los Angeles, where he and Sharon initially moved so their children, Kelly and Jack could attend specialist dyslexia schools. One of his main reasons for wanting to return was gun violence in the United States.

“Everything’s f***ing ridiculous [in America]. I’m fed up with people getting killed every day,” he told The Observer.

Ozzy Osbourne died aged 76 on Tuesday, just weeks after his final farewell concert at Villa Park in Birmingham with the world’s biggest metal stars. In a statement, the Osbourne family, including Ozzy’s wife, Sharon, their daughters Kelly and Aimee, their son Jack and Ozzy’s son, Louis, revealed the frontman died on Tuesday morning.

They said: “It is with more sadness than mere words can convey that we have to report that our beloved Ozzy Osbourne has passed away this morning. He was with his family and surrounded by love. We ask everyone to respect our family privacy at this time. Sharon, Jack, Kelly, Aimee and Louis.” Ozzy’s former Black Sabbath bandmates have also issued moving statements.

Following his death, his close friends and fans shared sweet anecdotes and unforgettable memories about the time they spent with the Prince of Darkness.

Loose Women’s Jane Moore was among the stars paying tribute to the rocker. The panellist lived with the Osbourne family for two weeks while ghostwriting Sharon’s memoir, Unbreakable, in 2013.

In a new column for The Sun, Jane said she barely got anything done as Ozzy would often join her in the kitchen and reveal all the hilarious stories from his life.

She said the War Pigs singer was ‘naturally funny and kind’, adding that he ‘always asked you questions about yourself’.

Speaking about his love for Sharon, Jane added: “It was well known that they had their spats, but Sharon was his world. He often told me he couldn’t live without her.”

The Changes musician was suffering from Parkinson’s disease in the lead-up to his death. He underwent a strict training programme in order to be able to headline a huge show in Birmingham’s Villa Park called Back To The Beginning on July 5.

Ahead of the huge show, Ozzy’s wife Sharon explained: “Ozzy’s working with his therapist every single day. He’s doing really well, actually. Ozzy’s number one thing in life is his fans, so he’s working hard to be ready for them, to make this show the perfect way to end things.”

Last year, Ozzy wasn’t well enough to perform at Black Sabbath’s Rock’n’Roll Hall of Fame induction in the US. While performing at the Back To The Beginning show, Ozzy performed sitting on a black throne as he wasn’t able to stand.

Despite his declining health, the Black Sabbath frontman managed to complete his and Sharon’s move from the US to rural Buckinghamshire, a hope the couple had long harboured. Ozzy and Sharon, who married in 1982, lived in their mansion in the Home County for Ozzy’s last two years, it emerged on Tuesday night.

“Ozzy was always meant to come back to Britain to live in Buckinghamshire, it was where Sharon had spent so long preparing their family home for him,” a friend of the family said last night.

Jesy Nelson admits being in ‘constant state of fear’ during tough pregnancy with twins!

Former Little Mix star Jesy Nelson has opened up about her difficult pregnancy journey as her twins Ocean and Story make their very first live TV appearance on This Morning

Jesy Nelson has opened up about her difficult pregnancy journey(Image: ITV )

Former Little Mix star Jesy Nelson has opened up about the rare health condition that left her in “a constant state of fear” during her pregnancy with twin girls Ocean and Story. Back in May, Jesy gave birth to twin girls, naming them Ocean Jade Nelson-Foster and Story Monroe Nelson-Foster.

Speaking in her first live interview with This Morning, Jesy, who shares her twins with Zion Foster, opened up about learning that her twin girls had twin-to-twin transfusion syndrome (TTS) – a rare condition that threatened their lives before they were born.

Identical twins share the same placenta in their mother’s womb, with some blood vessels joining the two together. Twins with TTS don’t have an equal flow of blood between the babies, which means that one baby can become anaemic and another can receive too much blood, leading to heart failure.

“I couldn’t believe the percentages and what could potentially happen to them. I almost felt from that point I couldn’t really enjoy my pregnancy because I was constantly worried that something would happen,” she said. “I could only take it two weeks at a time.”

Jesy Nelson with the partner Zion Foster and their twins(Image: @jesynelson/Instagram)

While Jesy and Zion were “over the moon” about having twins when they first found out, doctors confirmed at 21 weeks that they had developed TTTS. “Every time we were going for scans [to monitor her pre-stage TTTS] it was getting a little bit worse, a little bit worse. I still felt like we didn’t think it was gonna happen… I was a bit in denial about it,” she said.

Opening up about the symptoms, she said: “There were symptoms to look out for – if your belly gets really tight like a drum, if you’re struggling with your breathing.

“Two days after my scan, we’d gone to the park and I couldn’t even walk because I was so out of breath.” However, she added that she often couldn’t tell the difference between signs of the condition and what was normal for a pregnancy with twins.

“I thought, ‘Well I’ve got twins, of course I’m going to be out of breath. Of course my belly is going to be tight, I’m growing too humans.’”

She added that she was in a “constant state of fear” due to the twins’ condition and later went into hospital for a procedure to burn the blood vessels that were causing uneven blood flow between the twins.

Zion said: “It felt like overnight it literally went from pre-stage [TTTS] to having the procedure now, and that procedure is not even guaranteed to work, and that was terrifying.”

Thankfully, Jesy delivered the baby girls in May, announcing the news on Instagram. Jesy said: “So… Our beautiful baby girls decided to come at 31weeks plus 5 days. It all happened so quickly, but we are so blessed that they are here with us, healthy and fighting strong! We’ve never felt more in love. Everybody meet Ocean Jade Nelson-Foster and Story Monroe Nelson-Foster. Born on 15.05.2025.”

The first-time mum had lived in hospital for ten weeks before the birth, after their daughters developed twin-to-twin transfusion syndrome in the womb. The rare condition could have been fatal for both babies so the couple planned for Jesy’s labour to be induced once the twins were deemed strong enough around the 32 week stage.

In the months leading up to Ocean and Story’s birth, Jesy documented her difficult and emotional pregnancy for fans. She required emergency surgery in April after the twin-to-twin transfusion diagnosis, with Jesy telling fans at the time: “We feel so grateful and blessed that these little babies are still going strong.”

Jesy and Zion began dating back in November 2022, with the musician running the London Marathon in May to raise money for the Twins Trust – a charity which offers support for families with twins.

Speaking to The Mirror at the time, Zion said of the twins: “They’re giving us so much hope they’re going to come out healthy. Jesy and the twins have come through so much. There were so many times in this pregnancy we didn’t think we’d get to where we are now.

“Their strength has been unmatched. We literally feel like we know them already just because of how much they’ve overcome. Their characters are so strong. They’re so brave.”

Earlier this year, Jesy revealed that she will be showing her pregnancy journey on screen as part of a six-part documentary. Set to arrive on Prime Video, the series will follow the ups-and-downs of her pregnancy experience.

Jesy said: “I feel so excited and proud that we can finally reveal we have been filming our own series for Amazon! We met with the creative director Demi Foyle and Producer Gavin Evans at Navybee and letting the cameras in wasn’t an easy decision for us as it’s such a deeply personal time but I knew I wanted to tell my story in my own words.

“We opened the doors fully and I’m really looking forward to letting you all in as I navigate my way to becoming a first time mum to our beautiful baby girls Ocean and Story. I’ll be honest, it’s not been easy as it’s been such a high risk pregnancy, so you’ll see all the highs and lows and rollercoaster of emotions we have been going through. I hope you will all join me on this journey as I really open up and say goodbye to the past and enter this new chapter in my life. I hope you love it as much as we do.”

Meanwhile, Prime Video said that Jesy will “share her truth like never before”, with the documentary featuring footage of “weekly hospital visits and candid conversations” as well as the unwavering support of her loved ones.

Jesy is also set to open up about her decision to leave Little Mix in 2020, her mental health difficulties and the controversies that hit her career.

Loose Women’s Jane Moore ‘in shock’ as she recalls last meeting with Ozzy Osbourne!

Loose Women star Jane Moore made a special appearance on the lunchtime chat show to recall her friendship with the late Black Sabbath star Ozzy Osbourne following his death

TV star Jane Moore has recalled her last meeting with her close friend Ozzy Osbourne before he died.

The Loose Women star, 63, was close friends with the Black Sabbath rocker and his wife Sharon. And, following his death on Tuesday at the age of 76 following numerous health issues, she has recalled going to his final gig just weeks ago and explained that he was “nervous” before he went on stage. The journalist is currently on holiday but appeared on the ITV lunchtime show via video link where she spoke of her ‘shock’ at his death.

She said: “It was an incredible shock. I’m on holiday out in France and I first got a call mid-afternoon. To be honest, I didn’t believe it. Ozzy has been subject to so many online hoaxes about his death over the years so I just thought it was another one. I only saw him just over two weeks ago when he did his farewell concert with Black Sabbath in Villa Park Birmingham, which is just a couple of minutes from the house he grew up in.

“As everyone knows, Ozzy, because of Parkinson’s, was in a wheelchair so they had to work out how to get out of him. Quite an achievement, he sang four solo songs and then four with Black Sabbath sitting down.” Discussing her last meeting with Ozzy, which occurred backstage before the gig, Jane said: “Sharon took me to see him in his dressing room just before he went on stage and he was nervous because it was his home town and his home crowd but it was an unqualified success. ”

Jane also pointed out just how “sad” Ozzy’s passing is because he was very much compos mentis up until the end, as she said: “I stayed for a bit after the concert and when I left, there was loads of crowds still hanging around. Big, tough looking biker fans just crying with joy at having seen their idol. It’s incredibly sad because mentally, he was still there.”

The former I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here star, who spoke to Kaye Adams, Coleen Nolan, Kelle Bryan and Sue Cleaver, even moved in with the Osbourne clan when she was working as a ghost writer on Sharon’s memoir and recalled having early morning chats with the late rock star during that time, and explained: “I’d wake up very early in the morning, write up yesterday’s notes before the next day started. But Ozzy used to get up really early to talk to me and because I trained as a journalist in Birmingham, I’m used to the accent so I could understand it when a lot of people in LA just didn’t know what he was saying. He was so he was pleased to have someone to chat with, and he had so many funny stories.”

Last year, Jane was invited to interview Sharon on her UK tour, and spoke about how the pair were dedicated to each other right up until the end despite the ‘tempestuous’ nature of their marriage. She said: “They had a tempestuous marriage, I did a Sharon with tour last year, she did a talk show on stage where I interviewed her.

“She’s probably the most honest person I’ve interviewed in my life. She freely admitted they were co-dependent, she said ‘I can’t live without him and he can’t live without me…’ and he used to say the same.”

News of Ozzy’s death broke on Wednesday evening, and it came after a number of health woes for the legendary music star.

Complete timeline of the John Torode and Gregg Wallace scandal as BBC decides to air their final series!

From double sacking to ‘financial trouble’ and ‘worst racial slur imaginable’

The headlines keep on coming for Gregg Wallace, John Torode and the MasterChef franchise.

Last week, in perhaps the most shocking update yet, Richard Osman waded in. He worked at Endemol Shine at the time the allegations were first made. And, in his podcast, he’s claimed that John Torode was told of his sacking, that he was offered a lifeline, and that the slur he’s been accused of saying is just about as bad as it gets.

With the presenters’ careers both in tatters, and the MasterChef brand itself facing intense backlash, ED! takes a look back at the scandal, as the BBC finally makes a decision about whether to air John and Gregg’s final series…

November 2024: Gregg Wallace steps down from MasterChef

In late November of last year, Gregg Wallace broke his silence on social media after stepping down from MasterChef following misconduct allegations. 13 people had accused him of making inappropriate sexual comments.

He thanked his followers on Instagram at the time: “I would like to thank all the people getting in touch, reaching out and showing their support. That’s good of you, thank you very much.”

Banijay UK, MasterChef’s production company, said an external review would be conducted.

July 8 2025: Gregg Wallace sacked

BBC News reported Gregg Wallace had been sacked as MasterChef presenter following a six-month inquiry into alleged misconduct.

The investigation’s report, conducted by law firm Lewis Silkin, was officially due two days later, on Thursday July 10. It would find 45 of 83 allegations against Gregg Wallace were substantiated.

More than 50 people were reported to have approached the BBC with fresh claims.

    July 8: Gregg Wallace responds

In a lengthy Instagram statement, Gregg Wallace claimed he had been cleared of “the most serious and sensational allegations” made against him.

He wrote: “I recognise that some of my humour and language, at times, was inappropriate. For that, I apologise without reservation. But I was never the caricature now being sold for clicks.”

He continued: “To be clear, the Silkin’s Report [sic] exonerates me of all the serious allegations which made headlines last year and finds me primarily guilty of inappropriate language between 2005 and 2008.”

The TV presenter added: “I will not go quietly. I will not be cancelled for convenience. I was tried by media and hung out to dry well before the facts were established.”

He also complained about a perceived failure to ensure he had a safe working environment with regards to his neurodiversity.

Gregg Wallace went on: “My neurodiversity, now formally diagnosed as autism, was suspected and discussed by colleagues across countless seasons of MasterChef. Yet nothing was done to investigate my disability or protect me from what I now realise was a dangerous environment for over 20 years. That failure is now being quietly buried.”

July 14: What did the report reveal?

The report’s shocking findings included claims concerning inappropriate jokes and innuendos, sexually explicit remarks, unwanted touching. culturally insensitive or racist comments, and bullying behaviour.

45 of the allegations, span between 2005 to 2024 and relevant to his stint on MasterChef, were found to have been upheld.

July 14: BBC statement on report’s findings

The BBC subsequently announced Gregg Wallace would not work with the Corporation in the future.

A statement read: “We welcome the publication of the findings by Lewis Silkin, following the investigation into the conduct of Gregg Wallace. In light of these findings, Banijay UK and the BBC have agreed Mr Wallace’s return to MasterChef is untenable. The BBC has informed Mr Wallace we have no plans to work with him in future.”

It continued: “The investigation details a substantial number of allegations of inappropriate conduct spanning 19 years. This behaviour falls below the values of the BBC and the expectations we have for anyone who works with or for us.

“Although the full extent of these issues were not known at the relevant time, opportunities were missed to address this behaviour – both by the production companies running MasterChef and the BBC.”

    ‘More could’ve been done’

The BBC also accepted “more could and should have been done sooner”.

“We want to thank all those who took part in the investigation, including those who first raised concerns directly with the BBC in November last year. We apologise to everyone who has been impacted by Mr Wallace’s behaviour.”

The BBC also confirmed Lewis Silkin’s probe included “two further allegations which were upheld, relating to other individuals”.

It was added the findings were taken “very seriously” and “we have asked Banijay UK to take action to address these issues, which is underway”.

Regarding the future of MasterChef, it was added: “At this stage we are not going to make a final decision on the broadcast of the series that was filmed last year. We know this is disappointing for fans of the show and those who took part and at the appropriate time Banijay UK will consult further with the amateur contestants.”

    July 14: Gregg Wallace apology

Gregg Wallace issued a statement to the PA news agency following the BBC’s statement.

He said: “For eight months, my family and I have lived under a cloud. Trial by media, fuelled by rumour and clickbait. None of the serious allegations against me were upheld.

“I challenged the remaining issue of unwanted touching but have had to accept a difference in perception, and I am deeply sorry for any distress caused. It was never intended. I’m relieved that the Banijay report fully recognises that my behaviour changed profoundly in 2018.”

Gregg admitted “some of his humour and language missed the mark” but maintained he “never set out to harm or humiliate”.

He added: “I always tried to bring warmth and support to MasterChef, on screen and off. After nearly 20 years on the show, I now see that certain patterns, shaped by traits I’ve only recently begun to understand, may have been misread. I also accept that more could have been done, by others and by myself, to address concerns earlier.”

July 15: John Torode denies allegations

Reports claimed John Torode had been asked to resign from MasterChef after he was accused of racism.

John Torode acknowledged on social media that he had an allegation of using racist language against him upheld.

However, he responded by insisting neither the BBC nor Banijay had contacted him to inform him he should leave the series. But within hours the BBC revealed his contract would not be renewed.

John, reportedly “blindsided” and said to feel ‘scapegoated’, posted on Instagram: “Although I haven’t heard from anyone at the BBC or Banijay – I am seeing and reading that I’ve been ‘sacked’ from MasterChef and I repeat that I have no recollection of what I’m accused of. The enquiry could not even state the date or year of when I am meant to have said something wrong.

“I’d hoped that I’d have some say in my exit from a show I’ve worked on since its relaunch in 2005, but events in last few days seem to have prevented that. Over the past few months I’ve been considering my life and the shape of it now and in the future.”

‘I will watch fondly from afar’

He continued: “Celebrity MasterChef, which I recently filmed with Grace Dent along with the two fantastic Christmas specials, will be my last. Personally, I have loved every minute working on MasterChef, but it’s time to pass the cutlery to someone else. For whoever takes over, love it as I have.

“I will watch fondly from afar as I now focus on the many other projects I have been working towards. My tummy will be grateful for a rest after 20 years of eating, but what a joy it has been. Life is ever-changing and ever-moving and sometimes personal happiness and fulfilment lay elsewhere.”

He signed off: “Thank you for the many years of MasterChef. John Torode.”

July 16: John Torode axed, BBC confirms

The BBC confirmed in a statement that John Torode had been axed after he was accused of making a racist remark seven years ago.

It read: “John Torode denies the allegation. He has stated he has no recollection of the alleged incident and does not believe that it happened. He also says that any racial language is wholly unacceptable in any environment.”

The statement continued: “The BBC takes this upheld finding extremely seriously. We will not tolerate racist language of any kind. And, as we have already said, we told Banijay UK, the makers of MasterChef, that action must be taken. John Torode’s contract on MasterChef will not be renewed.”

    July 16: Masterchef future decided?

The final series of MasterChef will still be aired despite the sackings, The Sun claimed.

An unnamed source is quoted as telling the tabloid that “the BBC has a duty to both provide entertainment as well as fulfil its obligations to cast, crew, contestants and viewers alike”.

They are said to have continued: “If they were to can these two series, hundreds of people — those who appeared or worked on the shows — would be so bitterly disappointed.

“So the feeling at present is that the show, quite literally, must go on — albeit once the dust has settled and all the fuss died down.

“The two presenters have already been cancelled on the Beeb — they don’t wish to cancel the series too; neither of which, it must be noted, received any complaints.”

July 16: Who could replace John Torode on Masterchef?

Grace Dent was unveiled as Gregg Wallace’s replacement on the cookery series in December 2024. Speculation about who might now line up alongside her has gripped fans on social media – and the bookies have offered plenty of odds, too.

According to oddsmakers, early frontrunners to replace John Torode could include the likes of Tom Kerridge, James Martin and Nadiya Hussain.

Meanwhile, the chances of Nigella Lawson, Gordon Ramsay, Ainsley Harriott, Jamie Oliver – and even John’s wife Lisa Faulkner – landing the role have also been priced in.

July 17: MasterChef contestant ‘feels sorry’ for Gregg Wallace

The Mirror reports MasterChef contestant Aasmah Mir “feels sorry” for Gregg Wallace after complaining about his language on the BBC show’s set.

Radio presenter Aasmah was on the show in 2017. She later complained to the show after Gregg Wallace allegedly referred to a BBC colleague as a “sexy [blank]”.

Speaking on Good Morning Britain on Thursday, Aasmah said: “I feel sorry for him, I do feel sorry for Gregg Wallace because of the neurodivergence, which is quite obvious here.

“But someone – the production company – should have stepped in earlier and said: ‘This is not acceptable.’ We wouldn’t have the mess we have today.”

Gregg Wallace MasterChef scandal – ‘Maybe he was just used to it’

She also reflected on her own experience: “It’s not the worst thing in the world. No one has died. But it was an uncomfortable experience. I remember feeling destabilised and I remember my cheeks were burning because I was thinking, what happened there?”

She added: “No one said anything. Both Gregg Wallace and John Torode looked completely blank, poker face. Like nothing had happened. I don’t know how many of the substantiated allegations he witnessed. So I can only talk about my own. But all I know is Gregg Wallace used an incredibly inappropriate term and John Torode didn’t do anything. There was no emotion.

“That could be because it was 2017. It had been going on since 2005 – the programme. Maybe he’d just become used to it? You would expect some emotion on his face perhaps but maybe he was just used to it and that’s not his fault necessarily. It’s Gregg Wallace’s for putting him in that position.”

ED! has approached a representative for Gregg Wallace for comment.

Information about John’s bust businesses has also been reported (Credit: BBC)

July 17: MasterChef star John Torode’s business claims

MailOnline also claims “two of [John Torode’s] businesses went bust owing over £160,000 to creditors”.

The news outlet alleges: “Torode has also faced financial problems as two of his TV production firms went under in the last six years owing huge amounts.”

It reports Marcel Ltd was dissolved in December 2019 after going bust three years earlier with debts of £104,219. It was wound up in a creditor’s voluntary liquidation.

Additionally, MailOnline claims a ‘statement of affairs’ filed with Companies House shows it owed £36,388 to the HMRC, £13,950 to trade creditors and £53,881 to another firm owned by Torode, Toad Productions Ltd. MailOnline reports that also went bust at the same time.

It is also alleged Torode owed £55k for an overdrawn director’s loan account. The news outlet claims the liquidator’s report states that after meetings with Torode and his accountant, it was agreed that he should pay back £33,348. It is reported he did so in instalments over six months.

MailOnline goes on to claim after £23k liquidator fees, there was only enough to pay £9,890 to creditors.

At the same time, it is alleged, Toad Productions Ltd was wound up in August 2016 and reportedly dissolved in February 2021.

It is said to have owed £58,203. This reportedly included £54,603 to HMRC and £3,600 to trade creditors. MailOnline claims liquidators clawed back £8.5k. But after paying their fees nothing remained for creditors.

July 17: Richard Osman’s podcast claims

House of Games host Richard was creative director of Endemol Shine, part of MasterChef production company Banijay, at the time of the allegations. He also spoke out.

He claimed that John did know he was sacked. Richard also said that the slur he denies using was the worst racial slur imaginable. He was told to take a year out of presenting MasterChef, and complete an awareness course. However, he refused both, Richard said.

July 18: MasterChef host in Gold Digger slur

After Richard Osman spoke out, more details of what John said were reported.

According to reports, 59-year-old celebrity chef and TV presenter repeated lyrics from Kanye West track Gold Digger which contain the highly offensive word. It’s alleged it was said at an after-work event six or seven years ago.

John is also alleged to have used the word again while talking to a friend on the BBC show’s production team. John, who denies ever using the N-word, is said to be “devastated” by the accusations.

John’s friend “did not take offence”. The person who raised the complaint that is said to have overheard the conversation. The production friend reportedly reckoned John only used the slur as an “example” and “apologised afterwards”.

    July 19: ‘Pale and stale’

More news was shared last weekend. According to The Sun, Saturday Kitchen star Matt Tebbutt is expected to take over on MasterChef. It’s claimed he’ll host alongside Andi Oliver.

A source alleged the pair would be part of a “dream line-up”, with Grace Dent fronting the celebrity version of the series. “Matt is seen as a really safe pair of hands by the BBC. He has been in the frame for some time and is now being lined up for MasterChef. The BBC are keen to bring Andi Oliver on board too. She has been so popular as host of the Great British Menu.”

However, they added: “They’re not sure if she can commit at this stage because of her schedule with that show. But everyone is hoping they can get her on board. Everyone loves Andi and she would be perfect for the role in many ways. She is very talented on her own merit. But she would also help bring a more diverse look for the show, which is much needed.

“The last thing the show wants is to be slapped with being ‘pale and stale’ by a new generation of food lovers.”

    Lisa Faulkner gives new interview

John and Lisa’s Weekend Kitchen show aired as planned on Saturday (July 19). But Lisa still hasn’t spoken out in support of her husband.

However, a chat with the Mirror – which took place before the Banijay investigation – has revealed the pair are planning on getting away from it all this week. John turns 60 on July 23. They had plans to enjoy a trip to Cornwall.

Lisa also told the paper the key to their happy marriage.

“I honestly have no idea about why there’s such interest [in us]. I don’t read anything about us, I certainly don’t have Google alerts set up or anything. The closest I’ve come to it is probably at food shows or when people stop us in the street and say: ‘Oh we love you two,’ or that they love the shows. Maybe it’s because we genuinely have a lovely relationship?

“We’re not in each other’s pockets, which I think would make our relationship very different. So, it’s really nice to actually catch up on holidays or when we’re working together. We have a bit of banter but it’s never sniping at each other. We’re just kind to each other, we get on and we look out for each other,” she said.

July 23: BBC makes decision about Gregg Wallace and John’s final series of MasterChef

It’s been nine months since MasterChef finished filming its amateur 2025 series last autumn. Gregg and John were both at the helm at the time. As a result, since the allegations, whether or not that series would see the light of day has been a hot topic of conversation.

Now the BBC has revealed that it will air. BBC boss Tim Davie revealed last week that he had to “weight it up carefully” in light of the damning report.

Tim said: “We’re thinking through things. As editor-in-chief, I think my overwhelming concern is that we’ve got you know all the amateur chefs that gave their heart and soul to this programme. And we have to reflect on that. Talk to them, consult them, think about the audience. And then make a call.”

Now, it’s been confirmed that the amateur series of MasterChef filmed last year will be broadcast on BBC One and BBC iPlayer from August 6. According to the Mail, the BBC have told the MasterChef production company Banijay that the show should reduce Gregg and John’s screen time.

BBC statement on Gregg Wallace and John Torode’s last series of MasterChef

In a statement, “after careful consideration and consultation with the contestants”, the corporation said: “MasterChef is an amazing competition which is life-changing for the amateur chefs taking part. The focus of it has always been their skill and their journey.

“This has not been an easy decision in the circumstances. And we appreciate not everyone will agree with it.”

The statement then added: “In showing the series, which was filmed last year, it in no way diminishes our view of the seriousness of the upheld findings against both presenters. We have been very clear on the standards of behaviour that we expect of those who work at the BBC or on shows made for the BBC.

“However, we believe that broadcasting this series is the right thing to do for these cooks who have given so much to the process. We want them to be properly recognised. And we want to give the audience the choice to watch the series.”

The BBC concluded its statement by describing MasterChef as “a brilliant, much-loved programme which is bigger than any one individual”.

It concluded: “There are many talented, dedicated and hard-working people who make the show what it is. It will continue to flourish on the BBC. We look forward to it returning stronger than ever in the future.”
