‘NOT AS STRONG AS SHE LOOKS!’ fans spot Kate Garraway puts on a BRAVE face as she steps out in a QUIRKY outfit after being forced to sell £2million second home to pay off debt from caring for LAT3 husband Derek Draper

Kate Garraway put on a brave face as she headed out in London on Friday after she was forced to put her £2million home up for sale.

The TV presenter, 58, who was left in £800,000 debt after caring for her late husband Derek Draper, wore a quirky ensemble for the outing.

Walking  through the capital, she dressed in a colourful boho skirt, which she teamed with a fitted T-shirt.

Kate layered over a matching beige cardigan, wore a crossbody bag and pulled a suitcase behind her.

To complete her outfit, she added a pair of tan sandals, styled her hair straight and opted for minimal makeup.

Kate has been forced to sell her second home after Derek fought a brave four-year battle against Covid before tragically passing away in January last year.

The TV presenter, 58, who was left in £800,000 debt after caring for her late husband Derek Draper, was in high spirits despite the sale

She is also battling company debts after Derek’s psychotherapy firm Astra Aspera Ltd went bust owing hundreds of thousands to creditors including a huge sum to HMRC with Kate currently trying to pay back some of the debt.

Now, the Good Morning Britain star is flogging a stunning three-bed, four-storey townhouse in Islington, north London, which the couple bought for £550,000 in 2004.

The property had been up for rent for £6,750-a-month, but is now in the process of being sold, confirmed by the Land Registry Office, and should fetch around £2 million.

In January last year, the Mail on Sunday reported that Kate was faced with having to sell her five-bedroom family home in Muswell Hill, but by selling her second home, this appears to have been avoided.

Daily Mail have contacted Kate’s representatives for comment.

One source said at the time: ‘It is so sad for Kate. Not only has she had to watch her beloved husband suffer for almost four years but her financial worries have never been far away from her thoughts.

‘It has cost hundreds of thousands of pounds to look after Derek and do everything she could to get him better but it’s left her struggling.

‘The house is about all she has left financially and she is now facing up to the fact it might have to be sold.’

According to the rental listing for her Islington pad, it has a roof terrace and private garden.

The three bed Georgian town house in Islington, north London had been up for rent for £6,750-a-month, but is now in the process of being sold and should fetch around £2 million

‘This beautifully presented 3-bedroom terraced house offers a perfect blend of modern living and period charm. Spread across four spacious floors, this property is ideal for those seeking comfort, style, and convenience.

‘The ground floor features a welcoming living area with original features and ample space for relaxing or entertaining. The fully fitted kitchen is stylish and functional, leading directly to a private garden, perfect for outdoor dining or enjoying the fresh air.

‘On the first and second floors, you’ll find well-sized bedrooms, each offering plenty of natural light and built-in storage. The top floor boasts a stunning roof terrace with panoramic views across London, making it the perfect spot to unwind or entertain guests,’ states the blurb.

An identical property on the same street sold for £1.865M in June last year.

The most recent liquidator’s report for Astra Aspera Ltd shows that Kate has been trying to repay some of the debt she owes – and HMRCS have dramatically decreased their tax demand.

The directors’ loan account was overdrawn by £139,849, but the liquidator, Greenfield Recovery, hired solicitors, The Wilkes Partnership, ‘to assist in the recovery… and the sum of £21,000 has been received in this report period’.

It was previously reported that Kate was having to sell her five-bedroom family home in Muswell Hill (pictured), but by selling her second home, this seems to have been avoided

According to the latest liquidator’s report, HMRC has submitted a new preferential claim of £288,054.

This is a third of its previous submission of £716,822. It’s not known why the HMRC has dropped its demand.

There are also creditor claims of £196,548 from four other firms including a £50,000 bank loan.

It looks like there’ll be no pay out for creditors.

In 2012, two other companies jointly controlled by Kate and Derek were wound up by creditors.

Fulfill Media Ltd had debts totalling £922,807, which included £88,486 owed to HMRC, £90,882 to trade creditors, and £462,808 in ‘third party loans’.

Countrymouse Media Ltd was liquidated owing £189,121, which included £98,944 to the taxman and £48,000 on an overdrawn directors loan account.

Derek and Kate were both personally owed £24k each by the business.

In an exclusive tell-all, Rebecca Loos reveals the devastating consequences she faced post-affair, contrasting it with Beckham’s skyrocketing fame. Rebecca Loos has hit out, claiming it was “unjust” how she suffered the consequences following her “affair” with David Beckham. The former glamour model who worked as David’s personal assistant in the early 2000s sensationally claimed she and the Manchester United legend had an affair with one another.

At the time, Beckham, 50, branded the allegations as “ludicrous” but never sought legal assistance to challenge the claims or any interviews that Loos gave. Following the allegations, Rebecca, 48, went on to find fame as a reality star, appearing on The Farm, Celebrity Love Island, and X Factor, before eventually turning her back on fame and finding peace as a yoga teacher in Norway.

Now, she has spoken about how her life completely changed after the allegations were made public and the levels of scrutiny she faced, while David went on to become a global icon. She was branded the “sleazy senorita” and faced claims that she attempted to ruin David’s marriage with Spice Girls legend, Victoria Beckham. It comes after Cruz Beckham ‘steals’ his dad’s tiny white trunks and family have epic response.

Rebecca is set to appear on Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins, which sees her in a completely different light, stripped back from everything she knows. It comes after the Beckham’s launched a huge Netflix documentary about their lives away from the cameras.

“That took me completely by surprise,” she said of the Beckham documentary, adding: “Let’s call it what it was: him trying to portray an image of perfection that was nothing like reality.

“It felt unjust that my life was pretty hell, and his life kept going and kept blossoming. I’ve been accused of being a liar. I’ve had a lifetime of opinions around me, and I’ve definitely developed thick skin.

“I think the public opinion now has softened, at least from what I’m gathering since the documentary came out with the Beckhams a couple of years ago. I think it is now because thanks to social media, there is a whole different following out there, which is a double-edged sword.” But while she feels it’s unjust, she admits some of the blame lies with her.

In a press pack, Rebecca said: “I think I’ve definitely taken most of the blame – rightly so. It was part of my life. He was older than me, he was my boss. But I’m not someone to be silenced when I’ve been wronged, and that documentary took absolutely no responsibility.

“When he said, ‘It was so horrible to see my wife suffer,’ I thought, ‘Mate, think twice about the things you do.’” Like all the recruits, Rebecca faced a grilling in the show’s Mirror Room. Jason Fox and Chris Oliver questioned her motives for being on the show before asking how she felt about her affair with Beckham now that she’s had the time to reflect on it.

In his Netflix 2023 documentary, Beckham didn’t name Rebecca and failed to take any accountability. He just said: “I don’t know how we got through it in all honesty,” on a tricky time when he lived in Madrid.

On being asked about Beckham on the Channel 4 show and what she feels about how things have played out, she added: “I was quite guarded at the beginning. I was trying to be guarded because it’s not something I want to talk about the whole time. But at the same time I also wanted to be honest with them, so they were really good at getting through to me.

“They’re obviously professionals at this. I don’t shy away from what I’ve been through, and I don’t shy away from the decisions that I’ve made. They have shaped me into who I am, and I’ve really learnt a lot from the mistakes that I’ve made in my life and the things that I’ve done. And I really do think that being truthful is the only way to go in life. I’ll stand by that forever.

“It takes a lot of courage to tell the truth and to own up to mistakes that you have made, mistakes and times in your life you’re not proud of. And it’s very easy to just brush them under the carpet and move on. That’s like the coward’s way, I think, of living.”

Lando Norris is desperate for Formula 1 glory – but insists he is not willing to do anything to win. History is littered with World champions like Michael Schumacher and Ayrton Senna who were not afraid to bend rules in the pursuit of success.

Title-chasing McLaren duo Norris and Oscar Piastri have kept it clean so far this year, apart from a collision in Canada for which the Brit immediately accepted fault. Norris is often self-critical when he makes mistakes and that, he says, proves how much he wants to win.

But he said: “I get upset sometimes and I get disappointed and I get angry at myself, and I think that shows just how much I care about winning and losing. But that doesn’t mean I need to take it out on Oscar. I just don’t get into those kind of things.

Approaching 20 years in Formula 1, Lewis Hamilton has seen a lot of drivers come and go – and beaten most of them. But he had a notable impact on the career of one racer in particular, who lost his place on the grid seemingly as a result of two run-ins they had with the seven-time champion.

The most high-profile of those incidents happened back in 2020, the shortened season that was cobbled together at short notice after the Covid-19 outbreak scuppered F1’s original season plans. A 17-race schedules was hurriedly arranged, including multiple races at some venues.

It was a difficult situation for everyone, not least those drivers who were still finding their feet on the grid. One of those was Alex Albon, in his first full season driving for Red Bull having been promoted from the junior team Toro Rosso after just a few months in the sport.

He had replaced Pierre Gasly who had also been promoted very early in his career but buckled under the weight of expectation. Albon dealt with that aspect a little better and was retained for the 2020 season after settling in as team-mate to Max Verstappen in the latter half of the previous campaign.

Hungarian Grand Prix: Drama, Tensions, and Major Insights from Friday’s Action

The Hungarian Grand Prix weekend has started with a bang, bringing drama, speculation, and crucial developments. From Max Verstappen’s struggles on track to a surprising towel incident, to the ongoing saga at Ferrari and Mercedes’ suspension issues, there’s plenty to unpack. Here’s everything you need to know from the opening day of practice and how these storylines might play out over the weekend.

Max Verstappen’s Struggles and the Towel Incident

Max Verstappen, despite confirming his future at Red Bull until 2026, had a challenging Friday at the Hungarian Grand Prix. The Dutchman was not at his best during both Free Practice 1 (FP1) and Free Practice 2 (FP2), facing issues with his car balance, speed, and long-run performance. On top of the on-track performance woes, Verstappen became involved in a strange incident during FP2 where he was seen throwing a towel out of his car mid-session.

While this might seem like a minor issue, the FIA and the stewards took the incident seriously. Verstappen was investigated for what was deemed an “unsafe release” from the pit lane. The towel, which had slipped from his lap during a pit stop, was thrown out of the car in a bid to clear it from the cockpit. The risk, of course, was that the towel could have obstructed Verstappen’s control of the car or caused a hazard for other drivers. Ultimately, Verstappen wasn’t penalized, but the incident certainly raised eyebrows. The team’s oversight in leaving the towel in the car was a mistake, but Verstappen’s decision to throw it out on track didn’t seem to create any real danger, as he made sure to place it away from the racing line.

Despite the towel mishap, Verstappen’s problems on track were more concerning. His lap times were inconsistent, and he couldn’t find a solid rhythm throughout the session. Even though Red Bull has a history of recovering their setup issues overnight, Friday’s performance was a wake-up call. Verstappen finished in P9 for FP1, a far cry from his usual dominance. This could signal trouble for the team heading into the weekend, as the Hungarian circuit has not been historically kind to Red Bull in recent years, despite their overall dominance in the 2023 season.

Ferrari’s Leadership Decision: A Lifeline for Fred Vasseur?

Meanwhile, at Ferrari, the tension surrounding team principal Fred Vasseur’s future continued to make headlines. The team’s performance in 2023 has been underwhelming, with no victories in a season that many expected to be one of their strongest in recent years. Vasseur, who was hired to replace Mattia Binotto, has faced heavy criticism from the Italian media for the team’s lack of progress, especially after the promising start to the season.

The Italian press had speculated that Ferrari might be looking for a change at the top, with reports indicating that Christian Horner could be a potential replacement. However, Ferrari’s CEO Benedetto Vigna recently confirmed that Vasseur will remain with the team for now, signing him to a multi-year contract. The decision to keep Vasseur appears to be a show of confidence in his leadership, especially after a season that has seen Ferrari’s performances drop off. Vigna noted that Vasseur has made improvements to the team and that they were close to winning the Constructors’ Championship last year, despite their struggles this season.

There were also reports from Italian media suggesting that Ferrari had considered hiring some other high-profile figures, including WEC’s Kleta, who reportedly turned down the offer, citing his satisfaction with his current role in the World Endurance Championship. This just adds to the drama, as it suggests that Ferrari’s leadership issues are not yet fully resolved, despite the decision to keep Vasseur for the time being.

At the Hungarian GP, Ferrari’s performance in FP1 was promising, with both Carlos Sainz and Charles Leclerc appearing competitive. Ferrari also introduced a minor update specifically tailored to the circuit, though the team’s overall competitiveness still seems questionable given McLaren’s apparent supremacy.

Mercedes’ Suspension Struggles and Antonelli’s Resilience

Mercedes has been struggling with the performance of their car recently, particularly after a switch in suspension specifications that has not worked out as planned. The team opted to revert to an older suspension setup for the Hungarian Grand Prix in the hope of solving the issues that had been plaguing the car in recent races. George Russell has continued to extract decent performances from the car, while rookie driver Antonelli has been facing significant challenges.

Antonelli spoke candidly about his struggles during the European leg of the season, acknowledging that his driving style had not suited the car’s setup. “This weekend, we’re going back on the old suspension, and that will hopefully bring the feeling back,” he said. He admitted that he had been trying to adapt his driving style but had struggled to find the right balance. In contrast, teammate George Russell has been able to adapt better, showcasing a more flexible approach to the car’s setup.

The old suspension, which Mercedes hoped would resolve some of the issues, is yet to deliver the results expected. In FP1, neither Mercedes driver could match the pace of the McLaren duo, who were comfortably leading the session. Mercedes’ struggles with rear suspension and balance issues continued to be evident, though the decision to revert to the old suspension could prove to be a step in the right direction as the weekend progresses.

    A Strong Day for McLaren

McLaren continued their strong form from the earlier races in the season, topping the charts in FP1 and showing impressive pace throughout the session. Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri were both on point, with Norris taking the fastest time of the session. While McLaren’s performance in FP1 was dominant, Piastri was close behind, and the two McLaren drivers are clearly pushing each other to new heights. This could be a breakthrough weekend for the team, as the Hungarian Grand Prix track suits their car, and McLaren has already shown that they can challenge Red Bull for race wins this season.

While Ferrari and Mercedes seem to be struggling, McLaren appears poised to take full advantage of their form. Norris was in his element, and the team’s continued progress this season is a strong sign that McLaren might be on track to fight for podiums and victories, with both Norris and Piastri likely to be involved in the battle for top positions.

The Hungarian Grand Prix: A Turning Point for Red Bull?

As the Hungarian Grand Prix weekend progresses, the question remains: can Red Bull recover from Friday’s performance? Despite their dominance in 2023, Red Bull’s struggles at the circuit are becoming more evident. Verstappen’s balance issues and Red Bull’s lack of speed in the opening session suggest that the team may have some serious work to do if they are to challenge McLaren for pole position and victory on race day. However, given Red Bull’s ability to recover from seemingly poor Fridays, they will certainly come into Saturday and Sunday with a plan to find the setup that works for their car.

    Conclusion: A Thrilling Weekend Ahead

The Hungarian Grand Prix weekend has already been filled with drama, from Verstappen’s struggles on track to Ferrari’s leadership question marks and Mercedes’ ongoing suspension issues. McLaren, on the other hand, looks poised to continue its strong run of form and challenge for top positions. With Saturday’s qualifying session on the horizon, the pressure is on for Red Bull to recover from a difficult Friday, while Ferrari and Mercedes aim to make the most of their own updates.

As the weekend unfolds, it will be fascinating to see how the teams adapt and whether McLaren can continue its dominant form, or whether Red Bull will bounce back to claim yet another victory. With the stakes high, the Hungarian Grand Prix promises to deliver plenty of action, drama, and excitement for F1 fans worldwide.

F1 Update: Fernando Alonso’s Injury, Mercedes Suspension Update, and Max Verstappen’s Controversial Incident in Hungary

The Formula 1 weekend in Hungary brought with it a series of intriguing developments. From Fernando Alonso’s unexpected absence in Free Practice 1 to Mercedes’ decision to revert to an older suspension specification and Max Verstappen’s investigation over a peculiar incident during Free Practice 2, the Hungarian Grand Prix weekend is already filled with drama and surprises. In this article, we’ll break down the key moments from the weekend’s action so far and examine the potential implications for the teams and drivers involved.

Fernando Alonso’s Injury and Missed FP1

The Hungarian Grand Prix weekend got off to a slightly rocky start for Aston Martin as Fernando Alonso was forced to sit out the first free practice session due to a muscular injury in his back. Alonso had been managing the issue since the Belgian Grand Prix, and it was clear that the team needed to assess whether he would be fit for the rest of the weekend.

In a statement ahead of FP1, Aston Martin confirmed that Alonso’s participation in the weekend was still under evaluation. The team announced that Felipe Drogovic, Aston Martin’s reserve driver, would take Alonso’s place in the session. This was a precautionary measure to ensure that Alonso’s back injury was properly managed. The statement read: “In the days following the Belgian Grand Prix, Fernando has been managing a muscular injury in his back. As he continues with treatment, he has chosen to sit out FP1. Felipe Drogovic will drive in FP1 alongside Lance Stroll. A decision will then be made on Fernando’s participation in FP2 and the remainder of the weekend in due course.”

This news put Alonso’s participation for the remainder of the weekend in doubt, as the team was taking a cautious approach. However, as the day progressed, Alonso was cleared to return to the car after further treatment. The FIA medically cleared Alonso, and he took part in Free Practice 2 alongside his teammate, Lance Stroll. The decision to sit out FP1 was a strategic one, as Alonso sought to limit his time in the car and ensure that his back injury did not worsen.

Alonso himself commented on the situation, noting, “I feel okay. I’ve had some treatment and am feeling better. I’ve been cleared by the FIA, and I’m back in the car for FP2. I will continue to manage the injury throughout the weekend, but it’s great to be back on track.”

With Alonso back in the car and cleared to continue, Aston Martin’s weekend looked set to return to normal, with Alonso hoping to fight for strong points over the rest of the weekend. His experience and ability to perform under pressure will be crucial as Aston Martin aims to improve their position in the standings.

Mercedes Suspension Update and Antonelli’s Struggles

Mercedes came into the Hungarian Grand Prix with high hopes after a strong start to the season, but they have recently faced a downturn in performance. The team, which had been competitive in the early part of the year, has struggled with both car balance and reliability issues in recent races. To address these concerns, Mercedes made the decision to revert to a previous suspension specification for the Hungarian Grand Prix.

Mercedes rookie driver, Antonelli, who has been struggling to adapt to the car’s setup, particularly in the European rounds of the season, commented on the change. “This weekend, we’re going back on the old suspension, and that will hopefully bring the feeling back. Since we moved to the new suspension, and apart from Canada, I’ve been struggling to drive the car and get the confidence. Probably also my side, I didn’t adapt the best because I was always trying to keep my style and drive the way I wanted, but it didn’t really work out. George [Russell], on the other hand, has been adapting better. He has a different driving style, and he’s been able to adapt better,” Antonelli said.

Antonelli has faced a challenging season, struggling to get the best out of the car in the early stages of the European season. Despite his struggles, he acknowledged that adapting his driving style to the car’s needs was key to finding a better balance. “Hopefully, going back to the old suspension will bring back the feeling I had prior to the start of the European season. But right now, we’re focusing on getting the setup right for the weekend,” he added.

Mercedes has shown flashes of promise in 2023, with George Russell continuing to perform consistently and push the team’s car to its limits. The hope is that the suspension change will allow Antonelli to find more confidence in the car and improve his performance for the remainder of the weekend. If Mercedes can find a setup that works for both drivers, they could challenge for a strong result at the Hungarian Grand Prix.

Max Verstappen’s Incident: A Controversial Moment

The drama didn’t stop with Alonso and Mercedes. One of the most talked-about moments during Free Practice 2 in Hungary involved Max Verstappen, who found himself in an unexpected situation. While navigating the track during the second practice session, Verstappen was seen slowing down significantly at Turn 3 before moving to the far side of the track. What caught everyone’s attention was that he then proceeded to throw an object—a small towel—out of his cockpit while on the track.

Footage from the session showed Verstappen lifting the towel and tossing it to the side as he slowed down near the corner exit. While it was not captured where the towel landed, the incident immediately drew the attention of the stewards. Verstappen was summoned to the stewards for an investigation into what was described as an “unsafe release.” In typical F1 fashion, the release of objects from a car, especially when it occurs on track, is a serious matter, as it can pose a risk to the driver’s own safety as well as to other drivers.

The investigation was based on concerns that the towel could have interfered with Verstappen’s ability to control the car or potentially caused damage if it became lodged in the footwell. The FIA’s ruling on the matter acknowledged that while the towel was a relatively harmless object, it still represented a potential safety hazard, as any object left in the cockpit could interfere with the driver’s control.

Verstappen later explained that the towel had slipped from his lap during a pit stop and that he had been unaware that it remained in the cockpit. When he noticed it, he decided to move to the far side of the track and attempt to throw it as far away from the car as possible. The stewards’ report ultimately concluded that the incident was not as severe as cases involving harder objects that could cause more significant damage. However, they still deemed it necessary to issue a warning to Red Bull for the unsafe release of the car.

Many fans initially questioned why Verstappen didn’t just return to the pits and hand the towel back to the team. However, after reviewing the full context, it’s understandable why he chose to dispose of it on track. Given the circumstances, the FIA’s warning seems to be a reasonable decision, considering the minimal risk posed by the towel.

    The Fallout and What’s Next

As we move into the weekend, the drama surrounding Verstappen’s incident is likely to continue to fuel discussions. With Verstappen’s championship aspirations continuing to be a focus, Red Bull will be keen to avoid any further controversies that could impact their lead in both the Drivers’ and Constructors’ Championships. While the towel incident may seem trivial, it’s another reminder of the fine line that drivers walk in ensuring the safety of both themselves and their fellow competitors.

Meanwhile, Alonso’s injury situation was resolved in time for him to rejoin the action for FP2, and it seems as though he’ll be back in full form for the remainder of the weekend. Mercedes’ suspension changes could be the turning point that sees Antonelli rediscover his form, which would be vital for the team as they seek to recover some of the performance that had been lacking in recent races.

    Conclusion

The Hungarian Grand Prix weekend has been a spectacle filled with intrigue, unexpected moments, and key decisions. Fernando Alonso’s back injury forced him to miss the first free practice session, but with the injury under control, he is set to continue his weekend. Mercedes’ decision to revert to a previous suspension setup could help Antonelli find more confidence, while Max Verstappen’s controversial towel incident highlighted the constant balancing act that drivers must perform between performance and safety.

With the weekend still unfolding, the stakes are high for all involved. As the season progresses, teams will continue to push the limits, both on and off the track, making every moment of Formula 1 a captivating one to follow. Stay tuned as more drama and excitement unfolds in the world of F1!

The Close Call Between McLaren Drivers and Max Verstappen’s Investigation: An F1 Weekend Recap

The Formula 1 weekend in Hungary was filled with dramatic moments, high-speed action, and moments of tension both on and off the track. In this recap, we’ll dive into McLaren’s impressive Friday performance, a near-miss between their drivers, and the investigation involving Red Bull’s Max Verstappen, as the FIA looked into an unusual incident during free practice. As always, F1 continues to keep fans on the edge of their seats, and the events from this weekend were no exception.

    McLaren’s Strong Start in Hungary

McLaren came into the Hungarian Grand Prix weekend with a lot of promise. Having demonstrated considerable pace during the early part of the season, the team had fans and pundits alike buzzing about their potential performance in Hungary. McLaren’s drivers, Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri, had a strong showing during the Friday free practice sessions, with both showing impressive speed, making McLaren one of the teams to watch this weekend.

In Free Practice 1 (FP1) and Free Practice 2 (FP2), McLaren was the team to beat, setting the pace early on. Norris, in particular, seemed to have an edge over his teammate Piastri, as he dominated the opening sessions. This trend was similar to what was seen earlier in the season, where Norris had outperformed Piastri in many of the qualifying and race weekends. However, the unpredictability of Formula 1 was never far off, and as we saw in Austria, Piastri was able to get the better of Norris in the race after a strong performance throughout the weekend.

Norris vs. Piastri: A Close Call

While McLaren appeared to have a solid grip on the weekend, it wasn’t all smooth sailing for the team. In FP2, there was a dramatic moment that nearly turned disastrous. The two McLaren drivers, Norris and Piastri, were on course to meet at Turn 1 after a pit stop sequence. As Norris rejoined the track, Piastri was on his way down the start-finish straight. In a split second, Norris locked up his brakes, forcing Piastri to take evasive action to avoid a collision.

The situation looked incredibly tense as both cars came within inches of each other. It was one of those moments that could have spelled disaster, potentially ending the Friday session with a crash between teammates. Thankfully, the two drivers managed to avoid contact. However, the close call raised the stakes for the rest of the weekend. While McLaren’s performance was strong on Friday, incidents like these serve as reminders of how quickly things can go wrong in Formula 1, even with teammates who are normally highly cooperative.

Norris, after the session, admitted that the second practice was a bit “messy” at times, citing mistakes with both low and high fuel runs. However, he was still positive about the car’s overall performance. “The car since the first lap has felt pretty good. All my laps have been decent. The second session was a little bit more messy on low fuel and high fuel. A few more mistakes. It’s all part of practice and finding the limit in different areas,” Norris said. Despite the minor mistakes, he had good understanding of the car and knew exactly what he wanted from it moving forward.

The Max Verstappen Investigation: A Unique Incident

While McLaren’s internal drama was the main talking point on Friday, Red Bull’s Max Verstappen also found himself in the spotlight due to a strange incident during Free Practice 2. Verstappen, in a rather unusual moment, was spotted throwing a towel out of his cockpit while navigating the track at high speeds. The incident occurred as Verstappen was slowing through Turn 3, before moving to the far right side of the track in an attempt to throw the towel out of the car.

This led to an investigation by the FIA, as throwing any object from a moving vehicle, especially on a racing circuit, is considered a serious safety issue. The stewards summoned Verstappen to explain the incident, as it was deemed an unsafe release from the pit garage.

The FIA’s report confirmed that the towel had slipped from Verstappen’s lap during a pit stop and remained unnoticed by the team. Once Verstappen realized the towel was still in the cockpit, he moved to the side of the track and attempted to throw it as far from the car and the circuit as possible. The stewards concluded that the towel had the potential to become lodged in the footwell, which could have interfered with the driver’s ability to control the car fully.

Although the situation could have been more severe if a hard or dangerous object had been thrown from the car, the stewards deemed this to be a lesser offense and issued a warning to Red Bull. The stewards stated that the incident was distinct from cases where more dangerous objects, like tools or equipment, were released, and therefore, it was not as severe.

At first glance, many fans might have thought Verstappen should have simply driven back to the pits and handed the towel to the team. But upon reviewing the full context provided by the stewards’ report, it’s clear why Verstappen made the decision to dispose of the towel on track. While it was an unconventional choice, the nature of the object and the relatively low risk it posed ultimately led to a warning rather than a fine or penalty.

    Understanding the FIA’s Decision

The decision to issue a warning instead of a penalty was met with mixed reactions. Some fans and analysts, including the video host in this discussion, initially felt that Verstappen should have handled the situation differently. However, after hearing the stewards’ explanation, there’s an understanding that the towel was a non-hazardous item, which made it less likely to affect the car’s performance.

It’s also important to note that Verstappen did take the necessary precaution of moving to the far side of the track before attempting to dispose of the towel, which minimized the risk of it interfering with any other driver. That said, the decision still raises important questions about what is considered acceptable behavior when it comes to objects being released from a moving car, and how the FIA will continue to handle such situations in the future.

The Bigger Picture: McLaren’s Momentum and Red Bull’s Consistency

As McLaren looks ahead to the rest of the weekend, it’s clear that they have the potential to make a significant impact. With Norris and Piastri both showing strong pace, McLaren could challenge for podiums and even victories if the team can keep their momentum going and avoid any more internal mishaps. While Norris currently holds a slight edge over Piastri, the unpredictability of Formula 1 means anything can happen, and we could see Piastri continue to push Norris as the weekend progresses.

For Red Bull, the investigation into Verstappen’s incident is a minor setback in what is otherwise a dominant season. Despite the controversy, Verstappen remains one of the most dominant figures in F1, and Red Bull’s consistent performance continues to solidify their position at the top of the grid. The team’s focus will likely shift back to their ongoing title defense, and Verstappen will no doubt remain the driver to beat as the season progresses.

    Conclusion

The Hungarian Grand Prix weekend has already given us some thrilling moments and plenty of drama, both on and off the track. McLaren’s strong performance on Friday has shown that they are a team to watch, while the near-miss between Norris and Piastri served as a reminder of the tight margins that exist between teammates in Formula 1. Meanwhile, Verstappen’s towel incident, while seemingly trivial, added another layer of intrigue to the weekend, showing that even the smallest details can make a big impact in the world of F1.

As we move closer to the race, all eyes will be on McLaren to see if they can maintain their momentum and challenge for top spots. For Red Bull, the focus will shift back to their continued dominance, despite the minor hiccups that occasionally arise. The weekend is far from over, and with plenty of action still to come, F1 fans are in for an exciting ride. Keep following for more updates as the weekend unfolds!

Incredible new leaks suggest Christian Horner was seriously plotting a power grab, reigniting political chaos in Formula 1 as team bosses scramble for answers.

Christian Horner’s Future in Formula 1: A Game-Changing Power Play

Christian Horner’s future in Formula 1 is far from settled. The 49-year-old British team principal, who has led Red Bull Racing since its inception in 2005, is at a crucial juncture in his career following his unexpected sacking from the Austrian team. With 20 years of experience under his belt, multiple world championships, and a track record of steering a team to dominance, Horner’s next move is the subject of intense speculation within the F1 paddock. While many believe he will seek another team principal role, insider reports are suggesting a far more shocking twist to his career path—team ownership. So, what does the future hold for Horner, and how might the internal drama within Red Bull shape his next steps?

The Shocking End to Horner’s Red Bull Tenure

Horner’s departure from Red Bull has been one of the most unexpected developments in recent F1 history. His leadership at Red Bull had been nothing short of legendary, with the team dominating the sport over the past decade. Under his watch, Red Bull secured eight driver’s titles and six constructors’ championships. However, as the team grew more successful, internal tensions began to surface.

In what many viewed as a power struggle, the internal dynamics at Red Bull began to shift, especially with the rise of Max Verstappen’s powerful father, Jos Verstappen, whose influence within the team became undeniable. Furthermore, after Chalerm Yoovidhya, a key member of the Red Bull ownership structure, sold 2% of his shares, the balance of power tipped in favor of Red Bull Austria, giving them 51% control of the team. This shift in ownership led to the inevitable: Christian Horner was removed from his role as team principal.

While Helmut Marko, a key figure at Red Bull, had previously suggested that any issues within the team would be kept in-house to maintain focus on the title fight, the reality was different. Horner’s sacking marked the end of an era, as the Red Bull family took the decision to part ways with the man who had built the team into a powerhouse.

The Future of Christian Horner: Ownership on the Horizon?

Now, with his tenure at Red Bull officially over, Horner’s next steps in Formula 1 are the subject of much intrigue. Despite the internal drama that led to his departure, many believe that Horner’s F1 journey is far from over. Some reports suggest that Horner, who has always sought full control over the direction of a team, might not settle for just another team principal role. According to F1 pundit Martin Brundle, Horner is eyeing something much more ambitious: team ownership.

Brundle elaborated, saying, “Christian wanted full control of what he felt he created in Red Bull and in the best interest of the team. I rather suspect he overplayed his hand. And once the support of the 51% Yoovidhya family fell away, Red Bull Austria parked Christian at the first opportunity.” The pundit went on to say that Horner would likely return to F1 “sooner than later, this time with some ownership and control.”

Given his history with Red Bull and his deep knowledge of the sport, Horner could be a prime candidate for team ownership, where he would have the autonomy and power he’s always desired. But which team would be willing to sell a stake to Horner? The answer could lie in a few key teams looking for leadership and investment as they strive for more success in F1.

Will Other Teams Be Interested in Horner?

It’s clear that Horner’s reputation as a team leader is unshaken, despite the recent drama. His impressive achievements with Red Bull cannot be dismissed, as he guided the team to multiple championships and helped shape the careers of some of the most successful drivers in F1, including Sebastian Vettel and Max Verstappen. With such an impressive resume, it’s likely that Horner will attract attention from teams seeking a proven leader.

One team that has consistently been mentioned as a potential landing spot for Horner is Alpine. The French team, based in Enstone, has undergone significant changes in recent years and has not yet managed to find the stability needed to challenge for consistent podiums. Despite Alpine’s ongoing struggles, including underperforming cars and internal leadership issues, Horner’s reputation as a top-tier leader could be just what the team needs to turn things around.

Alpine is also undergoing a major change with its engine supplier, as the team will be switching to Mercedes power units starting in 2026. This move could provide Alpine with the performance boost it desperately needs to climb up the midfield and eventually challenge the front runners. However, for Alpine to fully capitalize on this change, the team will need solid leadership, which is where Horner could come in.

The Ownership Angle: Could Horner Take Control of Alpine?

Given Alpine’s desire for stability and the looming technical overhaul for 2026, it’s possible that Horner could take on a more significant role within the team, potentially involving some form of ownership. While Alpine has made no official moves in this direction yet, the idea of Horner becoming part-owner of the team is highly plausible, especially as the team seeks to attract investors to support its ambitious plans.

F1 pundit Nico Rosberg also sees Horner’s return to the sport as a key component in Alpine’s future. “I think Alpine could make a lot of sense. Get a couple of percent in the team with [Luca de] Meo as the chairman and then he’s CEO. I think that would make a lot of sense,” said Rosberg. The pairing of Horner’s leadership with a fresh investment strategy could indeed work wonders for the French team. Given that Alpine is already focused on 2026, and Horner has the experience to navigate the complexities of team leadership in F1, it could be the perfect match for both sides.

The Potential for Horner and Gassly to Coexist

One of the most interesting potential dynamics if Horner were to join Alpine would be his relationship with Pierre Gasly, the French driver who was previously treated poorly by Red Bull. Gasly, who has been with Alpine since 2023, has been vocal about his positive relationship with Horner and expressed respect for his leadership. Gasly’s turbulent time with Red Bull, especially in 2019 when he was replaced mid-season, has made him a believer in Horner’s ability to bring out the best in his drivers.

Gasly has said, “Christian’s qualities are undoubtable because when you’ve got the number of championships in 20 years of a career, you can only respect all the successes with the team.” With Gasly currently driving for Alpine, it’s easy to imagine that he would welcome Horner’s leadership if he were to join the team in a more senior role. The potential for the two to work together again could be one of the most intriguing aspects of a Horner-Alpine collaboration.

    What About Other Teams?

Aside from Alpine, there are other teams that could benefit from Horner’s leadership. The rise of teams like Aston Martin, which is focused on 2026 and could use Horner’s experience to help guide their rise, or teams like Williams and McLaren, which have historically sought experienced leadership, could be potential suitors for Horner’s expertise. However, the prospect of Horner moving into a team ownership role seems increasingly likely, as it would allow him to fully control his vision and ensure the team reaches its potential.

The FIA Role: A Far-Fetched Possibility?

While some have speculated that Horner could eventually aim for a role within the FIA, perhaps even as its president, F1 pundit Bernie Collins believes this is unlikely due to Horner’s competitive nature. “Christian is the same as Max Verstappen. He’s a fighter. He loves being part of the team. He loves the competition and he wants to beat Toto [Wolff],” Collins said. For Horner, the desire to be at the heart of a team, building it up and leading it to success, seems to outweigh the possibility of stepping into a more bureaucratic role.

Conclusion: Horner’s Return to F1—What’s Next?

As the 2026 F1 season approaches, the future of Christian Horner remains a topic of intense speculation. Whether he steps into an ownership role or takes on a team principal position, it’s clear that Horner’s experience and leadership will be sought after by many teams. With a track record of success and a deep understanding of what it takes to build a championship-winning team, Horner’s next move could reshape the competitive balance in Formula 1.

The path forward for Horner may not be entirely clear, but one thing is certain: his time in Formula 1 is far from over. Whether he leads a new team to success or reshapes an existing one, Horner’s impact on the sport is undeniable, and the next chapter of his career is poised to be just as exciting as the one he’s leaving behind.

Aston Martin’s Financial Move: A New F1 Super Team in the Making?

Formula 1 is a sport driven by strategy, power, and money, and recently, a series of financial moves have shaken the paddock, setting the stage for what could become one of the most significant shifts in the sport’s future. Aston Martin’s recent decision to sell a 4.6% stake in their F1 team has caught everyone’s attention, and when you layer this with the financial struggles of their parent company, Aston Martin Lagonda, and the potential involvement of Christian Horner, things are starting to look incredibly intriguing. It seems like a masterful game of chess is being played, and the pieces are aligning in a way that could change the F1 landscape forever. Here’s a deep dive into what this move means for Ahttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u0D4RFHxMokston Martin, the F1 grid, and the future of Formula 1.

The Aston Martin Stake Sale: A Strategic Lifeline

On the surface, the sale of a 4.6% stake in the Aston Martin Aramco Formula 1 team might seem like a minor move—just a small slice of the overall operation. However, this 4.6% stake brings in a staggering $146 million, a sum that carries immense weight for Aston Martin Lagonda, the luxury car manufacturer. The company has been facing financial headwinds, from global economic slowdowns in key markets like China to the impact of US tariffs, leading to a profit warning just days before this move. Aston Martin now expects to break even this year—a significant concern for a brand known for its luxury vehicles and high price tags.

Since their 2018 IPO, Aston Martin’s stock price has taken a nosedive. In 2018, shares were valued at £19 each, valuing the company at over £4.3 billion. Fast forward to now, and shares are languishing at just 71 pence, marking a dramatic fall in value to only £826 million. This sharp decline has put pressure on Aston Martin Lagonda, forcing the company to make tough decisions. So why sell a small stake in the F1 team now, especially when that team is experiencing rapid growth?

The answer, likely, lies in the need for immediate financial relief. The $146 million, although coming from a minority stake, is a vital lifeline that will help the parent company weather its current storm. But could there be more at play here? Could this sale be part of a larger strategic shift for Aston Martin?

    A Move Toward Privatization?

Experts, such as Orwella Mahama from Thirdbridge, have suggested that this stake sale might be a signal of something far more significant—Aston Martin Lagonda potentially going private. As a publicly traded company, Aston Martin has been forced to deal with the demands of shareholders, quarterly earnings reports, and the constant scrutiny of the market. By going private, the company could streamline its operations and focus on long-term goals without worrying about short-term market reactions.

The sale of the 4.6% stake could be the first step in this direction. It could allow Aston Martin to simplify its ownership structure, making it more agile and flexible, and free from the pressures of public reporting. Such a move could help the company attract long-term investors who are willing to put in the capital needed to help the brand thrive, especially in the hyper-competitive automotive and motorsport industries.

By going private, Aston Martin could also create more room for private investors to enter, including potentially investors connected to the F1 team itself. This could set the stage for a new wave of investment that would provide both financial and operational flexibility. It’s a move that could unlock vast new opportunities for growth, especially in light of the exciting things happening within the F1 team.

Aston Martin F1 Team’s Skyrocketing Value

While Aston Martin Lagonda struggles with its finances, Aston Martin’s Formula 1 team is flourishing. The F1 team’s valuation has jumped from $2.6 billion to $3.2 billion in just a year—a remarkable 23% increase in value. The increase isn’t just due to luck; it’s the result of deliberate, calculated investments. Under the leadership of Lawrence Stroll, who rescued the team in 2018, Aston Martin has poured significant resources into infrastructure. The team now boasts a state-of-the-art wind tunnel, a new factory, and a slew of technical upgrades that position it for long-term success.

While the parent company has been struggling, the F1 team seems to be operating in a financial bubble, completely detached from the broader company’s issues. This stark contrast is key to understanding the significance of the $146 million stake sale. Aston Martin Lagonda has cashed in on the independent success of its F1 team without selling off too much of its stake. This could be part of a broader strategy to separate the F1 team from the parent company, making the racing team a standalone entity capable of attracting further investments and partnerships without the baggage of the parent company’s financial troubles.

Christian Horner’s Potential Return to F1

The most explosive piece of this puzzle, however, involves Christian Horner, the former Red Bull boss. After being ousted in early July, Horner has been relatively quiet, but suddenly, Aston Martin has emerged as the frontrunner to hire him if he returns to F1. This is where things get particularly interesting. A few weeks ago, Ferrari seemed like a plausible destination for Horner, but after Fred Vasseur extended his contract, that door slammed shut. Now, Aston Martin is the clear favorite to bring Horner back into the fold, with betting markets giving them 7 to 4 odds to secure his services.

This timing isn’t just a coincidence. The betting odds and speculation suggest that a deal might already be in the works behind the scenes. Aston Martin’s strategic move to sell a minority stake in the F1 team, coupled with the financial maneuvers taking place at the parent company level, suggests that they are preparing for a major shift. If Horner does join Aston Martin, it would not just be a simple job offer—it would represent a strategic integration into a team that is poised for massive growth and success in the near future.

The Future of Aston Martin F1 and the 2026 Regulations

Aston Martin has been clear about its intentions: the team is laser-focused on the 2026 season. Fernando Alonso, one of the team’s star drivers, has made it clear that the focus is entirely on the new car for 2026. Aston Martin’s commitment to the future is evident, as they are already developing the AMR26, their new car for the 2026 regulations, while many other teams are still fine-tuning their current cars. With Adrian Newey, one of the most talented technical minds in F1, leading the charge, Aston Martin is positioning itself to be a major force in the sport’s new era.

This focus on the 2026 regulations is crucial. The new rules will shake up the competitive order, and the teams that get it right will be in a prime position to dominate for years to come. Aston Martin’s decision to prioritize 2026 shows their commitment to long-term success, and it also signals to the wider F1 community that they are building something special for the future.

The Strategic Repositioning of Aston Martin F1

All of these financial maneuvers, from the sale of a minority stake to the potential involvement of Christian Horner, point to a much larger strategic play. Aston Martin is not just rebuilding its F1 team; it is positioning itself to become a major player in the sport’s new era. By going private, restructuring its operations, and bringing in top-tier leadership, the team is setting the stage for a future where they can challenge the dominance of teams like Red Bull, Mercedes, and Ferrari.

If Horner does indeed return to F1 with Aston Martin, it will mark the beginning of a new chapter for the team. With a billionaire owner like Lawrence Stroll, who has proven he is willing to spend whatever it takes to win, Aston Martin is poised to become a genuine championship contender in the near future. The combination of Horner’s leadership, Newey’s technical expertise, and a massive investment in infrastructure and talent could make Aston Martin one of the most formidable teams on the grid.

The Bigger Picture: A New F1 Super Team?

All of these moves point to one thing: Aston Martin is preparing for something big. The sale of the minority stake, the potential return of Horner, the focus on 2026, and the strategic direction all point toward the creation of a new F1 super team. With the right leadership, financial backing, and technical expertise, Aston Martin could emerge as one of the dominant forces in the sport.

If the pieces fall into place, Aston Martin could be in a position to challenge Red Bull and Mercedes for supremacy. This isn’t just about winning a few races; it’s about building a team capable of sustained success for years to come. And if Christian Horner returns to F1 as part of this ambitious project, the drama and intensity of the competition will reach new heights.

As the 2026 regulations approach, the F1 grid is set for a dramatic shift. If Aston Martin’s financial strategy, leadership changes, and technical focus all come together, the team could be a serious contender in the sport’s new era. The rise of Aston Martin as an F1 super team is no longer a matter of “if,” but “when.” Stay tuned, because the road to 2026 just got a whole lot more exciting.
