Former Celebrity MasterChef star Vicky Pattison has shown support for Gregg Wallace after the fired host criticised the BBC for failing to “protect” him from a “dangerous environment”. Earlier today, it was reported that the 60-year-old had been fired by MasterChef after a year-long investigation into allegations of misconduct.

The presenter posted a furious statement on Instagram, claiming that he can’t sit in silence while his “reputation is further damaged to protect others”. He claimed that Lewis Silkin’s report into the alleged misconduct “exonerates him of all the serious allegations which made headlines last year” and that BBC News intends to platform “legally unsafe accusations” which “are not upheld by the BBC”.

“The BBC is no longer providing balanced and impartial public service journalism,” he said. “It is peddling baseless and sensationalised gossip masquerading as properly corroborated stories.”

Vicky Pattison appeared to show her support for Gregg’s statement by liking the Instagram post – being one of the few celebrities to do so.

Vicky took part in Celebrity MasterChef’s 2019 series, coming in second place. She was a runner-up to Olympic athlete Greg Rutherford.

In his statement, Gregg added that the Silkin report finds him “primarily guilty of inappropriate language between 2005 and 2018”.

However, it has been claimed that Banijay – the production company which makes MasterChef – over the allegations.

“I was hired by the BBC and MasterChef as the cheeky greengrocer,” he said. “A real person with warmth, character, rough edges and all. For over two decades, that authenticity was part of the brand. Now, in a sanitised world, that same personality is seen as a problem.”

He ended his statement by claiming that the full report into the allegations “will never be seen” and that the BBC will publish a short Executive Summary.

“What really concerns me about the short summary is others who have been found guilty of serious allegations have been erased from the published version of events. I, and I’m sure the public, would like to know why?” he added.

The BBC said in a statement: “Banijay UK instructed the law firm Lewis Silkin to run an investigation into allegations against Gregg Wallace. We are not going to comment until the investigation is complete and the findings are published.”

The Mirror understands that Banijay will be releasing the report and that the BBC did not fire Gregg Wallace as the corporation does not employ him – he was employed by Banijay.

Coronation Street star signs new contract after fears that his character will be killed off

Coronation street fans have been worried that Gary Windass might die after he went missing and then appeared in hospital badly wounded from almost being beaten to death

Coronation street fans were concerned that Gary Windass was a goner when he disappeared from the cobbles

Coronation Street star Mikey North has signed a new contract to continue playing Gary Windass, putting to rest fans’ fears that his character could be killed off after a dramatic disappearance from the ITV soap.

The actor, who first joined the cobbles in 2008, is now set to mark his 18th year in Weatherfield. Viewers had grown worried in recent months when Gary vanished from the show without explanation, sparking speculation online that Mikey might be leaving the series for good.

However, after a long absence from screens, Gary has finally returned as part of a gripping new storyline, and it seems there’s plenty more drama waiting for him.

    Gary Windass on Coronation Street
Those fears have now been quelled with the revelation that Mikey North has signed a new contract with the soap(Image: ITV/REX/Shutterstock)

A source told The Sun : “Mikey loves working at Coronation Street and bosses love having him so it was a no brainer for him to sign for another year recently.

“Gary’s got a huge year coming up and it’s all just kicked off on-screen and it’s just the beginning. There’s going to be a lot of Mikey on screens in the coming months.”

Gary’s latest storyline has already left fans on edge. The character disappeared after clashing with his wife Maria, unaware that Lou, who has a grudge against Maria, was manipulating events behind the scenes.

Lou framed Gary for an affair, leading him to storm out and stay with his mother, Anna Windass. But when Maria discovered Gary had left Anna’s and headed home only to never turn up, panic set in.

Viewers soon discovered Gary’s shocking fate. The troubled character has been lying in a coma in hospital after being brutally attacked and left for dead.

In a bizarre turn, a mystery woman claiming to be his wife and calling him Chesney has been posing as his next of kin, keeping his true identity hidden from the police and medical staff.

The mystery is due to unravel next week, with spoilers hinting at big revelations about who assaulted Gary and why. But many fans believe they’ve already cracked the case.

Last week it was revealed that while Gary was missing, someone had been using his phone to send fake messages pretending he was fine.

Meanwhile, Nina Lucas and Summer Spellman were haunted by memories of a man they saw injured while they were high on LSD. Nina confessed she’d shoved a man in fear, and the show cut to scenes of Gary lying unconscious in hospital.

Some fans suspect Summer may know more than she’s admitting. Others have pointed fingers at Brody Michaelis or his mother Lou, especially after Lou’s recent scheme against Maria. There’s even speculation that Mick, Brody’s father and a prison inmate, could have orchestrated the attack from behind bars.

As one fan took to the internet, theorising: “Lou is texting Maria. I’d say Lou and/or Brody brought Gary to the hospital themselves and told the nurses they were related.” Another viewer wrote: “I hadn’t thought about Mick — good point. He was annoyed she’d been hanging out with him.”

Wynne Evans has unveiled a bold new career move after a turbulent year that saw him axed from both the BBC and the Strictly Come Dancing live tour.

The opera singer, 53, who became a household name thanks to his booming vocals in the GoCompare adverts, has announced he’s opening his own restaurant in his hometown of Carmarthen. He has promised that fans can look forward to “MasterChef dishes on the menu”.

Wynne took to Instagram to share the news, telling his followers: “Hello, Wynne here. This is my hometown of Carmarthen. It is ever-changing and one thing that is changing is the Welsh House. It’s going to become the Welsh House by Wynne.

    Wynne Evans on Instagram
It comes after the BBC decided not to renew his radio show following two Strictly scandals(Image: wynneevans/Instagram)

“I promise you it will have MasterChef dishes on the menu, it’s going to have a fabulous warm welcome and I want you to come and see me, OK? It’s going to be the home of the radio show too. So I’ll see you soon. I’d better get cooking.”

It is understood that Wynne struck a deal to take over the existing Welsh House venue, with a source telling The Sun: “It’s a prime location in the centre of Carmarthen. He is trying to capitalise on his MasterChef win apparently.”

Wynne’s announcement comes after a rocky few months that saw his career with the BBC come to an abrupt end. The star, who won the Celebrity MasterChef trophy in 2023, was embroiled in controversy after he was kicked off the Strictly Come Dancing live tour earlier this year.

He made a comment that was deemed sexually inappropriate during a photocall, which sparked a four-month investigation by the BBC into his behaviour.

Wynne, who performed on Strictly last year with dance partner Katya Jones, 36, had already been forced to apologise during his time on the show for an incident where he was pictured with his hand on Katya’s waist which she then pushed away. Both later told fans it was an inside joke.

While on tour, he faced further backlash for “inappropriate and unacceptable” language after using the term “spit roast” in reference to host Janette Manrara. Wynne has since insisted the phrase was actually a nickname for his co-star Jamie Borthwick, and “wasn’t meant sexually”.

After the scandal, Wynne stepped back from both the tour and his BBC Radio Wales show, saying in a statement at the time: “I’ve agreed with the BBC that I’ll take some time out from my radio show and the Strictly Live tour, as well as my other public commitments, to prioritise my wellbeing. I am deeply sorry for the pain my inappropriate actions have caused, and plan to take this time for self-reflection.”

Last month, Wynne confirmed he would not be returning to his BBC Radio Wales programme, revealing that the broadcaster had decided not to renew his contract. He shared an emotional message with fans, writing: “From the very depths of my heart – thank you. These past few months, your love has been the light in my darkest days. Every message, every word of encouragement, every moment you stood by me has carried me through more than you could ever know.”

He added: “It breaks my heart to say the BBC has decided not to renew my contract so I won’t be returning to my radio show. I’m gutted. That show wasn’t just work—it was home. It was us. We laughed, we cried, we sang like nobody was listening. And somehow, through the airwaves, we became a family.”

However, Wynne is determined not to disappear from the airwaves entirely, and went on to announce his plans to launch an independent radio show, telling fans: “But here’s what I believe with everything I’ve got: what we built cannot end here. So – deep breath – here goes… We’re getting the band back together.

“The Wynne Evans Show is coming back, live every day from 9am – 12pm on a new app, on Alexa and Google (we don’t have to say ‘smart speaker’ anymore!) and at www.wynneevansshow.co.uk. This is our next adventure. And I need you more than ever. We will have great music, my question of the day, the mystery voice, your soundtrack stories and so much more, because we have each other again.”

Gregg Wallace fired over BBC MasterChef inappropriate comments as he breaks silence

Gregg Wallace has been axed after he was accused of making inappropriate sexual comments and jokes over a 13-year period on the BBC show

Gregg Wallace has been axed by the BBC after a nearly year-long investigation into misconduct claims. The MasterChef star hit the headlines in December when he was accused of making inappropriate sexual comments and jokes over a 13-year period.

It comes after 50 people made fresh misconduct claims against the TV presenter, according to BBC News. The 60-year-old has denied all allegations.

The former greengrocer has put out a statement on Instagram today, saying he has been exonerated of the most serious allegations levelled against him, after reportedly being informed of his dismissal from the BBC by production company, Banijay.

In a statement on Instagram today, Gregg wrote: “I have taken the decision to speak out ahead of the publication of the Silkins report – a decision I do not take lightly. But after 21 years of loyal service to the BBC, I cannot sit in silence while my reputation is further damaged to protect others. I have now been cleared by the Silkins report of the most serious and sensational accusations made against me.

“The most damaging claims (including allegations from public figures, which have not been upheld) were found to be baseless after a full and forensic six-month investigation.” Was the BBC right to sack Gregg Wallace? Vote in our poll HERE to have your say.

The lengthy statement then accuses the BBC of “peddling sensationalised gossip masquerading as properly corroborated stories, as Gregg continues: “To be clear, the Silkin’s Report exonerates me of all the serious allegations which made headlines last year and finds me primarily guilty of inappropriate language between 2005 and 2018. I recognise that some of my humour and language, at times, was inappropriate. For that, I apologise without reservation. But I was never the caricature now being sold for clicks.”

The Silkins report is officially due out on Thursday, but the dad-of-three’s legal team have been given an early steer, according to insiders.

He slammed the BBC in his furious post
A source told The Sun: “Gregg is both furious and devastated about how things have played out.

“His team have seen the report and believe he is cleared of the most serious wrongdoing allegations, so he has taken great consolation from that.

“Whilst he is not excusing his inappropriate comments and innuendos – some of which he has been found against – on his recent autism diagnosis, this has been a mitigating factor.

He said he ‘could no longer sit in silence’“He has also been cleared of some of the higher profile allegations, including those brought on by Penny Lancaster and Kirsty Wark, but the BBC has made it clear there is no way back for him. He is devastated.”

A series of complaints were made about the MasterChef last year, including ‘inappropriate behaviour’ and allegations of touching an assistant’s bottom on the BBC show.

Gregg stepped down from the show after denying the allegations, with his lawyers strongly denying Gregg engages in behaviour of a sexually harassing nature. Gregg insisted via his legal team: “It is entirely false that he engages in behaviour of a sexually harassing nature.”

A BBC spokesperson told The Mirror: “Banijay UK instructed the law firm Lewis Silkin to run an investigation into allegations against Gregg Wallace. We are not going to comment until the investigation is complete and the findings are published.”

Gregg Wallace has claimed that MasterChef was a “dangerous environment” for him after his health diagnosis. The MasterChef star has hit out at the BBC following the Silkins report, which he claims will be released in the coming days.

In his statement, he claimed that the “Silkins report of the most serious and sensational accusations made against him”. The report has not yet been made public but Gregg claims the report exonerates him from all the serious allegations.

He said: “To be clear, the Silkin’s Report exonerates me of all the serious allegations which made headlines last year and finds me primarily guilty of inappropriate language between 2005 and 2018. I recognise that some of my humour and language, at times, was inappropriate. For that, I apologise without reservation. But I was never the caricature now being sold for clicks.”

Now Gregg has also claimed that “nothing was done to investigate my disability or protect me from what I now realise was a dangerous environment for over twenty years”.

    Gregg Wallace

As part of a lengthy statement, he shared: “I was hired by the BBC and MasterChef as the cheeky greengrocer. A real person with warmth, character, rough edges and all. For over two decades, that authenticity was part of the brand.

“Now, in a sanitised world, that same personality is seen as a problem. My neurodiversity, now formally diagnosed as autism, was suspected and discussed by colleagues across countless seasons of Master Chef. Yet nothing was done to investigate my disability or protect me from what I now realise was a dangerous environment for over twenty years. That failure is now being quietly buried.” Was the BBC right to sack Gregg Wallace? Vote in our poll HERE to have your say.

In another part of his statement, he insisted he “will not go quietly” and “will not be cancelled for convenience”.

“Unfortunately, the full report (over 200 pages) will never be seen. Later this week, the BBC will publish a short Executive Summary. What really concerns me about the short summary is others who have been found guilty of serious allegations have been erased from the published version of events. I, and I’m sure the public, would like to know why?”

“I will not go quietly. I will not be cancelled for convenience. I was tried by media and hung out to dry well before the facts were established. The full story of this incredible injustice must be told and it is very much a matter of public interest.

The BBC said in a statement: “Banijay UK instructed the law firm Lewis Silkin to run an investigation into allegations against Gregg Wallace. We are not going to comment until the investigation is complete and the findings are published.”

Charlene White has opened up about her own experience with shedding tears at work, following Rachel Reeves’ emotional moment last week. The Chancellor made headlines when she was spotted wiping away tears behind Prime Minister Keir Starmer, in the House of Commons, last Wednesday.

The 46-year-old later explained that she was upset due to “personal reasons” and admitted it had been “a tough day”.

In her new column for the i Paper, the Loose Women presenter reflected on the first time she let her emotions take over in the workplace.

Recalling an incident in 2013, Charlene said she was targeted by English Defence League supporters for not wearing a poppy on Remembrance Day.

“I’ve explained my reasons why [I don’t wear one], and that I come from a forces family,” she explained.

“I wear a poppy in my private life, I donate to the Royal British Legion, and I think their work is incredible.”

    Charlene White
Charlene White recalled bursting into tears in front of her boss

While the 45-year-old initially tried to ignore the backlash, she recalled how being subjected to racist abuse for several days eventually took its toll.

“By the time Monday came, and another day at work, the abusive tweets had reached the hundreds. It included a ‘sack the s**g’ campaign, which encouraged people to sign a petition and call in to ITV demanding my removal,” she reflected.

Charlene was later encouraged to write a statement explaining her reasons for not wearing a poppy, though claimed this was stopped by some bosses at the time.

Additionally, she was advised to ignore the abuse as “it would blow over”.

“It was at that point, for the first time in my working life, I burst into tears in my boss’ office, unable to cope with the weight of the abuse of the previous days,” she recalled.

Charlene said she “frantically” tried to wipe away her tears and conceal her emotions at the time, in fear that she was at risk of losing her job.

“Despite everything that had happened, I was terrified about how the tears would make me look,” she confessed.

    Charlene White
Charlene White with her Loose Women co-stars

“Robin, [her managing editor at the time] though naturally shocked by my tears, sat with me as I cried and calmed me down.

“That moment was a turning point in what had been an awful few days.

“He and my then boss, Geoff, decided to publish my statement regardless of previous instructions, and that’s when things started to improve.”

Fast forward the years and Charlene has observed a shift in attitudes towards expressing emotions.

She noted that there are now “many of us [who] stress less about the minutiae of tears”, adding: “Because, shocker, it’s not a reflection of how good women are at ours jobs and I’m here for it.”

  • Good Morning Britain star Richard Arnold’s future revealed amid huge cuts at ITV

Good Morning Britain star Richard Arnold’s future revealed amid huge cuts at ITV

Cost-cutting measures at ITV have resulted in a huge change for its daytime scheduling as 220 jobs are at risk and hit shows and presenters are facing a major shakeup

    Richard Arnold
Richard Arnold’s future at ITV has been revealed

ITV is set to make a huge change to their daytime scheduling, with jobs being put at risk – however, one star is reportedly safe from the cuts. The big changes have left staff, as well as viewers, unsure of what the future holds for their favourites on the channel.

They have decided to overhaul Loose Women and Lorraine as part of new cost-saving measures. From 2026, Lorraine Kelly’s morning programme will be shortened to a 30-minute slot, airing from 9.30am to 10am instead of its current hour-long format. It will also only be broadcast for 30 weeks out of the year, meaning the stand-in hosts who currently replace Lorraine when she is on holiday will be out of a job. Loose Women is also facing significant changes, and will soon only be airing “on a seasonal basis for 30 weeks of the year” according to ITV bosses.

    Richard Arnold
Richard Arnold has worked on Good Morning Britain since 2014

The risks to jobs has left some fans wondering if their favourites could be axed. Thankfully, for those who love a bit of showbiz gossip from Good Morning Britain’s guru Richard Arnold, they have nothing to worry about.

He has reportedly kept his job amid the sweeping changes at ITV as some 220 staff face redundancies. Richard has fronted the entertainment news on the ITV morning show since it launched in 2014.

According to reports, he has been told he is safe along with his team, who are known as “RAP” for Richard Arnold Producers. A source told The Sun: “Richard is one of ITV daytime’s best-loved faces never mind on GMB

Viewers enjoy his slots and he remains very much part of the furniture.” Richard’s Good Morning Britain co-stars Andi Peters and Jeff Brazier haven’t had as much luck, however.

The pair have been lucky enough to call flying to far-out luxury locations part of their job, yet it won’t be for much longer. They would often pop up in some far flung location, encouraging viewers to try their luck and be in with a chance of winning thousands of pounds on shows, including Lorraine, This Morning and Loose Women.

Yet, ITV will, reportedly, no longer be shelling out for presenters such as Andi and Jeff to sun themselves on sun-kissed beaches while working for the broadcaster in its latest cost-cutting exercise.

This year alone, Andi has broadcast from the Maldives, Australia, Cape Town and Florida while Jeff has jetted off to Thailand, Sri Lanka and Malta.

Kevin Lygo, Managing Director of ITV’s Media and Entertainment Division, announced the changes in May, where he had said the changes were necessary to “generate savings”.

He said: “Daytime is a really important part of what we do, and these scheduling and production changes will enable us to continue to deliver a schedule providing viewers with the news, debate and discussion they love from the presenters they know and trust as well generating savings which will allow us to reinvest across the programme budget in other genres.

“These changes also allow us to consolidate our news operations and expand our national, international and regional news output and to build upon our proud history of trusted journalism at a time when our viewers need accurate, unbiased news coverage more than ever.”

However, sources have told The Mirror some shows face a ‘death spiral’ saying: “It’s not a case of viewers seeing less of their shows… it’s impossible to see how the high standards will remain the same.

“Some staff believe Loose Women and Lorraine in particular will enter a death spiral… it’s just so sad. Just a handful of people will be working on each of those two programmes which has huge ramifications for how they are going forward.”

The Mirror has contacted ITV and Richard’s representatives for comment.

    Cut Off. Ignored. Forgotten.

"We'll never see her again!" Meghan Markle given lifetime ban by furious Prince William & Catherine

That’s the fate of Meghan Markle according to explosive new revelations from US Weekly and veteran royal insiders speaking to outspoken commentator Dan Wootton and biographer Angela Levin. In a royal saga that continues to defy the usual etiquette of polite silence, the Palace has reached a breaking point—and Meghan’s name, quite literally, is now banned within the walls of Kensington Palace.

According to palace sources, Prince William and Princess Catherine have made a final, irrevocable decision: they will never speak to Meghan Markle again. The trigger? Prince Harry’s latest BBC interview, which insiders say was the final straw in a long trail of public betrayals, half-truths, and weaponized victimhood.

“She’s out. That’s it,” said one royal aide bluntly. “There’s no path back.”

The Name That Cannot Be Spoken

In a revelation that stunned even seasoned royal watchers, Catherine—who is currently battling a serious undisclosed health issue—has reportedly banned Meghan’s name from being spoken in her presence.

“She doesn’t want to hear it. It causes her distress,” said a source close to the Princess of Wales. “Staff know not to bring it up. It’s not just emotional; it’s physical now. The toll is real.”

It’s a rare glimpse behind the palace walls at the quiet emotional warfare that continues long after Harry and Meghan’s physical departure.

But it’s not just about protecting Catherine. William, insiders say, is furious. And for once, he’s done hiding it.

“He Will Make Her Pay” – William Draws a Line

Dan Wootton confirmed that Prince William is “upping the rhetoric behind the scenes” and has told confidants he will “make her pay” – not in vengeance, but as a way to protect the future of the monarchy.

According to Angela Levin, William now feels a profound duty to act, especially as King Charles continues his cancer treatment.

“The King can’t take that kind of stress,” she said. “William has to step up. And he knows Harry better than anyone.”

Indeed, Levin recalled private moments with Prince Harry before Meghan entered the picture, when the two brothers were inseparable.

“Harry told me, ‘I want to be William’s number one when he becomes king.’ That bond—Meghan destroyed it.”

Now, that relationship lies in ashes.

“It’s Karma” – Meghan’s Estrangement Mirrors Her Own Actions

And in a deeply ironic twist, Angela Levin pointed out that what Meghan is experiencing now—being cut off, silenced, ignored—is exactly what she did to her own father, Thomas Markle.

“She ghosted him. She shut the door, never looked back,” Levin said. “And now the royal family is doing the same to her—but with dignity.”

For a woman who once craved the spotlight, the silence is deafening. And apparently, maddening.

“People like her want the attention, even if it’s negative. But the Windsors know the greatest punishment is no response at all.”

Behind the Vogue Cover: Meghan’s Screaming Fits and Edward Enninful Fallout

One of the most astonishing segments of Wootton’s broadcast exposed Meghan’s alleged diva behavior behind the scenes of British Vogue, where she guest-edited a cover—but notably omitted Queen Elizabeth II while featuring political allies like Jacinda Ardern.

According to Wootton and Levin, Meghan’s behavior was “a nightmare” for staff, with Vogue editor Edward Enninful allegedly caving to her tantrums just to maintain their friendship.

“She screamed. She demanded. She wanted pages upon pages about her and Harry’s work. But when Vogue didn’t bow to her image management… she cut them off,” Levin explained.

And now, karma strikes again: Enninful himself is reportedly done with Meghan. The once-glamorous alliance lies in tatters, just like so many former Markle relationships.

The Security Lie: Harry Knew the Risks – Charles Still Paid

Turning to Harry’s ongoing legal battles, Daily Mail royal editor Rebecca English confirmed that Harry knew he would lose UK security as early as January 2020—before the infamous “Sandringham Summit.”

What’s more? King Charles personally paid for Harry’s private security for the first year post-exit, despite Harry claiming abandonment in his lawsuits and interviews.

Wootton was scathing: “Harry cried wolf. He wants press control. He sues the tabloids for telling the truth. He only trusts sycophants like Omid Scobie.”

Angela Levin agreed. “He sees real journalists as threats. But his sense of entitlement doesn’t match reality.”

Prince Harry and the P. Diddy Scandal – Media Control Attempts Backfire

One of the week’s most overlooked but explosive developments involved Prince Harry accusing The Sun of linking him to the P. Diddy sex trafficking scandal out of revenge.

In his claim, Harry attacked the press for suggesting he “betrayed his family,” “lied for sympathy,” and was named “in a sex trafficking case.” But as Wootton noted, this is a clear attempt to muzzle legitimate journalism.

“Harry doesn’t want free media,” Wootton said. “He wants controlled coverage—magazine fluff, not real reporting.”

    Meanwhile… Princess Eugenie Quietly Rises

While the Sussexes burn bridges, Princess Eugenie is stepping into the breach. According to Levin, King Charles has tapped her to lead a new arts initiative celebrating 35 young creatives—a project that echoes Harry’s former ambitions to engage youth voices.

“Eugenie’s hardworking, efficient, scandal-free,” Levin said. “She’s exactly what the royal family needs right now.”

It’s a quiet rebuke to the chaos left behind by Meghan and Harry—a signal that the monarchy is moving on, one carefully chosen engagement at a time.

    Final Words: No Way Back

The royal family may still extend a branch to Harry. But Meghan?

“She will never be welcomed back,” said the source. “Not to Balmoral. Not to Sandringham. Not to the coronation of the next king.”

And as Wootton concluded: “When the palace goes quiet, that’s when you know it’s serious. And right now, they’re silent. Completely silent.”

For Meghan Markle, the silence says it all.
