Chaser Mark Labbett, better known as The Beast, has been wowing fans with his incredible weight loss journey.

In a candid chat on This Morning this week, he talked about his days prior to fame when he was an ‘overweight maths teacher’ and not one the country’s most recognisable faces from TV.

At 57, the Devon-born quiz maestro shared the details about the dramatic changes to his life that resulted in a substantial drop in his weight — earning him plenty of praise from admirers. One impressed Twitter user exclaimed, “Mark Labbett has lost some weight – looking good,” while another commented, “Mark looks incredible after dropping the weight. Watching his interview he seems like such a lovely guy.”

Mark, who debuted on the ITV show, hosted by Bradley Walsh, in 2009, hasn’t hidden the fact he’s struggled with his weight and appearance in the past, but he reached a turning point during the Covid lockdown in 2020.

In his school teaching days back in 2003, Mark reportedly tipped the scales at his heaviest – 29 stone. When he was diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes four years later, he implemented some drastic lifestyle in order to prevent any further decline in his health, reports Plymouth Live.

Embracing a more nutritious diet and ramping up physical activity led to him bidding farewell to a whopping 10 stone. He now claims he’s the fittest and slimmest he’s been in three decades, having lost a total of around 64kg, all while towering impressively at a height of 6ft 6in.

His noticeable weight loss started in the 2020 Covid lockdown but he had already slimmed down by three stone before the country went into lockdown. He put some of the lockdown loss down to running around with his “hyperactive” toddler who was at home with him rather than in nursery.

Speaking on Loose Women last year, he confessed: “I found at the end of the evening instead of going to the fridge for late night snacking, all I could do was collapse on the bed.”

His trusty Labrador Retriever Baloo also contributed to his changes, as discussed on ITV’s The Pet Show with Dermot O’Leary and Joanna Page. “I was walking him around the fields, taking me places… I think he’s helped a lot, simply because I’m doing more activity.”

Mark, who split from his long-term girlfriend Hayley Palmer last year, also explained that a low-sugar and low-carb diet were key to his “complete nutrition overhaul”, highlighting that he slimmed down without any surgical help after being recommended against a gastric band due to his particular metabolism.

An interesting twist came when Mark experienced a loss of taste and smell, symptoms that led to less eating and added weight loss over a fortnight.

Now that he’s feeling and looking his best, Mark remains a firm fixture on ITV’s The Chase in Britain, despite no longer appearing on the show’s US version – a change that’s been linked to a significant fall in ratings.

Loose Women’s Charlene White steps in as co-star suffers wardrobe malfunction on air

The former Saturdays star was forced to ‘fix’ her outfit just moments before she was due to go live on-air as co-star Charlene White lunged into action to make sure her outfit was adjusted

Frankie Bridge was left rather red-faced during Thursday’s episode of Loose Women as she experienced a wardrobe mishap just moments before the show went live.

As cameras rolled, it became apparent that there had been some behind-the-scenes drama with host Charlene White announcing: “Sorry I just had to help Frank there, a bit of a wardrobe malfunction” leaving The Saturdays singer to admit her near on-air slip up.

With a blush and a quick adjustment of her top, Frankie confirmed: “Had a wardrobe malfunction,” while supportive pal Charlene reassured her: “But you’re all ok now.”

Frankie then confidently nodded at Charlene, signaling all was well: “I’m alright, I’m ok now.”

The discussion on the show took a turn towards parenting as Frankie shared stories about bedtime routines with her husband Wayne Bridge and their boys.

The topic of the day was a sleep expert’s suggestion that “children should be able to choose their own sleep time.” However, the Loose Women panel all agreed that “boundaries” were essential for the wellbeing of children, contributing to their sense of safety and security.

Frankie opened up about her home life, particularly when it comes to bedtime with her kids. She revealed that her children often end up in bed with her and her football husband at night, reports the Liverpool Echo.

The singer-turned-TV personality shared: “I have a big bed and emperor size bed bed and I got someone to design me a bed with drawers with mattresses in so that the boys can get in bed with us and not disturb our sleep.”

Her fellow mums on the panel were fascinated by her custom bed solution, all agreeing: “What a great idea,” but Frankie was quick to point out that it’s not as perfect as it sounds.

She humorously added, “It’s funny it doesn’t really work if I’m honest, last night I was squished in between my eldest and my youngest… and Wayne had a really tiny spot and I had a toe up my nose,” causing laughter among her ITV colleagues.

  • Stacey Solomon in tears and forced to walk off camera as Sort Your Life Out fans say ‘life is cruel’

Stacey Solomon in tears and forced to walk off camera as Sort Your Life Out fans say ‘life is cruel’

The mother-of-five was left heartbroken as she helped a family from Leeds declutter their home while the mother revealed she had been diagnosed with incurable breast cancer

Stacey Solomon had to step away from the camera, overwhelmed with emotion, while filming her show ‘Sort Your Life Out’ as she assisted a family from Leeds in decluttering their home. The TV star was moved to tears when helping Ben and Lynda Brearly-Baird, along with their five-year-old daughter Charlotte, tackle their incredibly cluttered house, which included a garage jam-packed from floor to ceiling.

Among the items they had to sort through at the warehouse were an astonishing 53 tool boxes, 239 scarves, and 619 pieces of wood. In a particularly touching moment, Lynda, who has been diagnosed with incurable breast cancer, shared with Stacey her intention to declutter to make a positive change for her family.

She showed mum-of-five Stacey a memory box she was preparing for Charlotte, knowing she wouldn’t be there as her daughter grew up, which deeply affected the presenter. “I’ve actually started one myself for unfortunately, ever since (I realised) at some point I won’t be here anymore,” Lynda confided.

“So this is a box I bought before and then I’ve just been (adding to it).”

She continued, revealing her plans to leave messages for Charlotte’s future milestones: “I’ve also got a notebook that random thoughts have come into my head that I’d probably say to her when she’s a teenager, when she’s a bit older, and things like that… My aim is to do something for her wedding day…or if she ever has children, if I was there, this is what I’d be thinking to you,” leading to Stacey’s emotional reaction, as per the Express.

“The worst fear for me was when I was first found out, Charlotte was still quite young, is that she won’t remember me. I want her to remember me,” tearfully disclosed the guest. Stacey, trying to provide comfort, reassured her: “There’s something so beautiful and positive about what you’re doing here.”

Following this heart-wrenching moment, Stacey was seen on camera, visibly upset, as she reflected: “I’ve never gone through a section where somebody is aware that there’ll be memories they’re going to miss. I don’t want to get upset because I feel like really that’s not my job, like I’m here to help this family, and it’s not happening to me, it’s happening to them,” before being overwhelmed by emotion and burying her head in her hands.

Apologetically, Stacey sobbed: “Sorry, it’s not about me. I’m sorry,” struggling with the resonance of the situation. “I’m just finding it really difficult. Charlotte’s the same age as my little boy. I just think, oh, god,” she wept, expressing the universal pain of such a prospect.

“There’s nothing worse is there. I’m so sorry,” she cried, stepping away from the camera to regain her composure.

Stacey wasn’t the only one deeply moved, as viewers at home shared their own emotional responses. One viewer wrote on Twitter (now X): “Oh Stacey, I was holding it together until you went. Such a lovely gift to give this family in an unimaginably horrible situation.”

“@StaceySolomon Just cried with you. What a beautiful family and omg little Charlotte is adorable; she’s a very kind special lady. I’m in bits already. Life is so cruel. Time is a gift #sortyourlifeout,” another viewer shared, deeply moved by the emotional scenes. Another added their voice, writing: “Now this is hard making a memory box. Life can be so unfair #sortyourlifeout.”

A third expressed their feelings: “Oh, Stacey got so emotional. She’s so empathetic. This family’s story is so sad because they’re such a lovely couple and the daughter is a little star. #SortYourLifeOut,” while a fourth remarked on the poignant moment.

A fifth person reflected on their personal connection to the show’s theme: “Oh blooming heck this episode’s got me a mess. My Mum got diagnosed when I was 38 and mercifully is absolutely fine now. The notebook for her little girl has broken me #sortyourlifeout.”

And a sixth commented on the heart-wrenching preparation made by a mother for her daughter: “Doing a memory box for her daughter just incase she doesn’t see her grow up = wow sad #sortyourlifeout.”

Loose Women’s Linda Robson reveals kids are worried as she awaits test results after scan

Linda Robson has revealed her children are worried about her as she waits to receive test results after undergoing scans on her pancreas

Linda Robson fears she will have to have her pancreas removed in a heartbreaking health admission.

The Loose Women star opened up on her health scare to Ruth Langsford, Brenda Edwards and Janet Street-Porter on Tuesday. The Birds of a Feather star shared her health woes as the panel discussed how illness can affect your family following Kate Middleton’s brave video announcing she has completed cancer treatment.

Linda shares her son Louis and daughter Roberta with ex-husband Mark Dunford and has an older daughter, Lauren, from a previous relationship. She said: “I have had a bit of health scare – quite a few years ago I had gall stones and they damaged my pancreas and they’ve been keeping an eye on me for a while now.” Linda explained she had undergone scans in recent weeks and is expected to receive the results of her latest scan next week.

She continued: “I had a cyst on my pancreas and it went from one to two cm so the kids have been really worried about me,” before adding that she’s waiting to find out whether the cyst has grown in size. A shocked Ruth remarked: “This is happening right now to you?”

“Yes,” Linda replied. “If it is [bigger] then they’ll have to remove my pancreas which means I’d then be a diabetic but fingers crossed that won’t happen and the cysts won’t have grown. I feel quite positive about it but the kids are obviously worried about it.”

Ruth asked: “How do you deal with that as a family? Are you talking?” To which Linda replied: “I make jokes about it all the time because I try to diffuse them worrying about me. When I did go to the hospital they came with me and taped everything the doctors said because I would have forgotten everything that they said.”

Earlier this year, Linda revealed her children became her carers during her battle with OCD, alcoholism and depression. She explained: “My children were my carers when I was mentally ill. There was a point when I got so low I couldn’t be left alone. I wasn’t allowed to see my grandchildren until I was better. It was four years ago now and they still say, ‘Mum I’m so glad you are better, we never thought we’d get you back.’”

Recalling the difficult time in her life during a Loose Women episode, Linda explained: “I went through a really tough time, I was depressed and I turned to alcohol and had cleaning OCD. I used to always have a glass of wine or spritzers in the evening, come 10 o’clock at night, but never in the daytime. And then I got put on medication that sent me a bit mad.

“I got put on a certain drug which was supposed to help the depression but it didn’t it just heightened it, so I had to go into three different establishments and it was the worst time in my life, I completely ruined my family’s lives.”

Paddy McGuinness very publicly breaks silence on rumours he’s dating co-star

Paddy McGuinness has replaced Gregg Wallace as a co-host on Inside the Factory, with him having worked alongside the likes of Cherry Healey on the BBC show’s new series

Presenter Paddy McGuinness has addressed speculation over romance rumours with his colleague Cherry Healey after having worked together on a show.

It was announced in the summer of 2023 that Paddy, now 51, would replace Gregg Wallace on Inside the Factory. He’s since filmed the new series alongside co-host Cherry, 44, who has been on the BBC show since it launched in 2015.
Paddy made his debut in a Christmas special that aired last month, ahead of the ninth series launching on Tuesday. He reminded of the show’s return later this week in a message to his followers on Instagram over the weekend.

The post included several photos of Paddy and co-star Cherry – who present Inside the Factory alongside historian Ruth Goodman – together. The pair were seen beside each other in selfies, as well as in a photo of them at a restaurant.

Alongside the photos, Paddy wrote about his colleagues in the accompanying caption of the post. He told his followers last week: “The whole crew on Inside The Factory have been a joy to work with. A small but perfectly formed team.”

He continued: “Also I’d never met @cherryhealey before but we hit it off straight away. Absolutely love working with her, she’s an absolute diamond!” Paddy concluded: “The new series starts Tuesday 7th on BBC1 & @bbciplayer.”

The post was met with speculation about a potential romance between the colleagues. One person reacted: “Is this a soft launch of the new Mrs?” Another asked: “Ooh I’m liking this. New lady, Paddy? You look cute together.”

Paddy however has since addressed the rumours, which he shut down when responding to a fan who asked: “Is this your new love? If so all the very best (you look very comfortable together).” Paddy replied: “Not at all. She’s just a great person.”

Former Top Gear presenter Paddy was once in a long-term relationship with Christine McGuinness. The pair, who share three children, announced the end of their 11-year marriage in a joint statement released back in July 2022.

They said at the time: “We’re moving forward as the best parents we can be for our three beautiful children. We’ll always be a loving family, we still have a great relationship and still live happily in our family home together.”

His colleague Cherry was once married to Rory Allen, with whom she shares her two children, but the former couple split up in 2016. She later began a relationship with Justin Mountstephens and they are thought to still be together, having celebrated her birthday together last month.

Warwick Davis’ Hollywood romance with late wife Samantha as he finds love again

Star Wars and Harry Potter actor Warwick Davis has opened up about a new love in his life, more than a year after the tragic death of his beloved wife Samantha

Actor Warwick Davis has revealed he has found love again 12 months on from the death of his beloved wife.

Samantha Davis died last March aged 53, with Warwick and their two children confirming the sad news at the time. The actor has now opened up about a new special person in his life while chatting with Jonathan Ross on the host’s chat show.

During the interview, set to air on Saturday, Jonathan quizzed Warwick on his moving BAFTAs speech, in which he mentioned a mystery person who had been helping him grieve. The Harry Potter star remained coy about the new lady in his life, referring to her only as ‘Sponge’ or ‘She-Who-Shall-Not-Be-Named.”Warwick Davis delivered a poignant tribute to his beloved late wife Samantha as he was honoured with the BAFTA Fellowship last month, the highest accolade from the British Academy. The Star Wars veteran, 55, emotionally dedicated his award to Samantha.

In his stirring speech, Warwick acknowledged his late wife’s unwavering support during his professional journey and shared his feelings about life after her loss. “Above all though, I’d like to dedicate and thank my wonderful wife Sammy, who died almost a year ago,” he expressed.

“She was always so supportive of my career – encouraged me to grab every opportunity with both hands. However, I soon noticed that her level of enthusiasm for me taking a particular role was often relative to how much she wanted that designer handbag.”

Coping with his sorrow has been challenging, but Warwick extended his gratitude to their children, Annabelle and Harrison, for enabling him to stay active and involved in life. He then fought back tears while disclosing his experience with finding love once more, saying: “Special mention too should go to Sponge. You know who you are. Thank you for showing me that life can still have meaning and for helping me to laugh and to love again.”

This heartrending address occured not long after the tragic death of Warwick’s wife Samantha at the age of 53. He confirmed the sombre news in March 2024, revealing how her death left an immense void in their family life, in a profoundly moving statement. Warwick described Samantha as his “most trusted confidant and an ardent supporter of everything I did in my career”.

The couple had been together for 33 years and had two children. Their romantic journey began on the set of the 1988 film Willow, where Warwick, then 17, secured the lead role as Willow Ufgood, with Samantha, then just 16, working as an extra. Sparks flew instantly between them.

Four years after their enchanting encounter, they exchanged vows in 1991 and expanded their family to include four children. However, they faced heartbreak when their firstborn, Lloyd, tragically passed away at nine days old. Their daughter Anabelle Davis, now 27, has followed in the footsteps of her father, carving out a successful acting career with roles in Hollyoaks and The Dumping Ground.

Sadly, the family also endured the pain of losing another son, George, during pregnancy, following two prior miscarriages before the arrivals of Annabelle and Harrison. In a candid discussion with Bear Grylls back in 2019, Warwick disclosed: “Prior to Annabelle and Harrison we had a baby boy, Lloyd, who inherited both our conditions… and that is something that proves fatal.” He added, “It’s something that a baby won’t survive. But Lloyd survived for nine days, but yeah he was beautiful. It was a tough time. And yeah, we had a stillborn too.”

Despite the heartache of their losses, Warwick shares that these tough times only strengthened the bond between him and his wife Samantha. Warwick, who has a rare genetic condition known as spondyloepiphyseal dysplasia congenita (SED), was once told he wouldn’t walk or live beyond his teens.

Samantha, on the other hand, had achondroplasia, the most common form of dwarfism. Their children, Annabelle and Harrison, also have SED. In 2018, Samantha faced a life-threatening battle with sepsis after surgery, which left her family fearing the worst. Warwick opened up to The Sun about those dark days: “I broke down every night thinking that this terrible illness that came out of nowhere might take my soulmate away from me.”

Warwick later admitted that in 2022, Samantha was still dealing with “some PTSD from her experience,” and revealed that he was struggling with it as well. After Samantha’s death last year, Warwick paid tribute to her resilient and joyful nature. “She was a unique character, always seeing the sunny side of life she had a wicked sense of humour and always laughed at my bad jokes,” he reminisced.

Their children also honoured their mother’s memory, saying: “Mum is our best friend and we’re honoured to have received a love like hers. With her by my side, I was sure I could achieve anything, it was like having a super-power.”

Warwick credited his professional triumphs to the unwavering support of his wife, admitting: “Without Sammy, there would have been no Tenable quiz show, no Willow series. No Idiot Abroad Series 3. She was passionate about helping people, without judgment. She had time for everyone and a genuine listening ear.”

‘She wants to compete with the new wave of glamour girls’

Katie Price reportedly wants to give Bonnie Blue a run for her money, and not everyone is sold on the idea.

Katie is set to bring back her alter ego, Jordan, via the AI platform, OhChat. Fans of the former glamour model will get to interact with an AI version of Jordan from back in the day.

However, according to sources, those close to Katie Price are concerned she will be returning to her raunchy image…

Katie Price to rival Bonnie Blue

An insider alleged to Closer: “Her friends worry that it could be very destructive for Katie to go down this path. She thinks Bonnie’s a clever girl, she might not be everyone’s cup of tea, but then neither is she – you don’t get to be successful in this industry by being a wallflower. At the end of the day, Katie’s capitalised on the oldest game in the book, her body and looks.”

You don’t get to be successful in this industry by being a wallflower.

They continued: “While Katie won’t actually be taking part in orgies herself, she wants to compete with Bonnie and the new wave of glamour girls like her by using her new AI Jordan avatar.”

The source noted that Katie “still feels she’s the original and the best”. They also said that the 47-year-old mum-of-five “knows thousands of men still want sex with Jordan”. Therefore, she “hopes sexy livestreams of her AI version will earn her a fortune”.

While Bonnie has faced much backlash recently, Katie reportedly remains unbothered and would like to work with her.

Allegedly, Katie has “confided that she would love to team up with Bonnie Blue on a future collaboration”, insisting they could make millions together. It’s been said that Katie believes she would be a “great mentor for her”.

While Katie might be eager to work with Bonnie, the 26-year-old adult content creator has admitted she would love to follow the reality TV route, just like Katie has.

In an interview with the Daily Star, Bonnie explained she is also eyeing up a couple of ITV reality shows.

“I would love to do Love Island and go in as a bombshell for 24 hours to see if I could split some of the couples up,” she said.

“I think that would be fun. I’d definitely cause a stir,” Bonnie added.

If the opportunity came her way, she’d also jump on a plane for I’m A Celeb. In the past, Katie has taken part in the show twice.

Fern Britton and ex-husband Phil Vickery in ‘awkward’ TV ‘reunion’ – minutes after her ‘jibe’ about ‘distrusting’ men

‘This is not going to end well and I am here for it’

Former This Morning host Fern Britton seemingly threw shade just minutes before she and her ex-husband Phil Vickery found themselves in an “awkward” TV ‘reunion’.

During Tuesday’s Lorraine (July 15), Fern appeared on the daytime TV programme to promote her book, A Cornish Legacy, and her new TV show, Inside The Vets.

Fern Britton and Phil Vickery in unexpected TV ‘reunion’

Fern’s latest novel focuses on character Cordelia Jago, who thinks very highly of her friendships and her aunt.

In her interview with Lorraine Kelly, Fern said: “The curious thing about getting older, you think you’re not going to make any new friends, yet new friends do keep coming.

“You must recognise that, I’m all into this repowering, not being empowered, but repowering, the power you had in yourself when you were young, into this older person who has little responsibilities now, we don’t have to get up and do the school run. We don’t have to do anything like that.”

She added: “She’s gradually empowered herself, distrusting of men, doesn’t want anything… This is kind of write what you know…”

Lorraine began to laugh to herself as Fern stated: “And a nice person does turn up.”

    Enter Phil…

However, things took an awkward turn when Lorraine, minutes later, spoke to This Morning hosts Cat Deeley and Ben Shephard about what was to come on Tuesday’s show.

After Cat revealed This Morning would be continuing its cosmetic cowboy investigation, Ben revealed Fern’s ex was also on the programme.

“Phil is in the kitchen with some ultimate delicious summer salads!” he said.

The chef then appeared on screen, smiling awkwardly inside the studio kitchen.

Naturally, viewers reacted online to the “awkward” situation.

    “Awkward #lorraine,” another person shared.

“Oh dear, that was a bit awkward, Phil Vickery on This Morning and Fern Britton on Lorraine, both in the same building, ITV scrambling for security now in case we have a domestic between them, two people that can’t stand each other, this is not going to end well, I am here 4 it #ThisMorning,” a third remarked.

Phil and Fern tied the knot in 2000 but suddenly split in 2020. In a recent interview, Fern revealed she and her ex are not on speaking terms.

Fern has three children from her previous marriage to television executive Clive Jones – twins Harry and Jack and daughter Grace. Phil Vickery acted as a stepfather to them. She also shares daughter Winnie, 23, with Phil.

The three youngest Beckham siblings have proved they remain as tight knit as ever, despite eldest Brooklyn turning his back on them. Romeo Beckham has shared some unseen photos with sister Harper to showcase their bond just as the feud with their older brother escalates.

The family has been rocked by a very public fallout that has now spilled into a social media war. David and Victoria’s eldest son Brooklyn and his wife Nicola Peltz have chosen to distance themselves from the clan over the last year with things heating up when the young couple failed to attend football icon David’s 50th birthday celebrations in May.

Brooklyn then did not send any message of support when David received his long awaited knighthood or a tribute on Father’s Day. Instead, he has been loyal to his wife and shared gushing posts about Nicola as well as her family.

The biggest blow is said to have been when Brooklyn, 26, and Nicola, 30, returned to the UK for a photoshoot near to the family home in London but failed to let his family know. Last week, the feud deepened as Brooklyn’s younger brothers Romeo, 22, and Cruz, 20, let their true feelings be known.

Now, the two brothers have taken their stance even further as they spent time with their little sister Harper. Romeo wrapped his arm around his youngest sibling as Harper embraced the former footballer.

The siblings then beamed in another snap as they were joined by brother Cruz and his girlfriend Jackie Apostel, 30, as well as cousin Finlay. They all struck a pose for the family photo as Harper seemed delighted to be spending time with her brothers.

Just last week, reports claimed Romeo and Cruz unfollowed Brooklyn on social media, which insiders branded the “Gen Z version of World War Three”.

“Even when the family have reached out to Brooklyn they have been ignored,” a source told the Sun. “He’s not had contact for months and it feels clear to them that he doesn’t want to make amends.”

Initially, it was reported that Brooklyn and Nicola had unfollowed Romeo and Cruz but a friend of Brooklyn’s said that wasn’t the case. “Brooklyn had no idea until he read about it online. It’s possible Romeo and Cruz blocked them, which would make it appear as him no longer following the brothers.”

Shortly after news of the snub broke, Romeo shared Justin Bieber’s Walking Away on his Instagram Stories, captioning it: “Yup.” Meanwhile, Brooklyn posted a photo with Nicola and sister Harper for her birthday, prompting speculation it was an olive branch to the family.

However, it didn’t last long as a friend claimed: “There is too much water under the bridge.” A source also warned at how devastating it would be if Brooklyn had ignored Harper’s birthday as they told MailOnline: “Brooklyn and Harper used to be inseparable.

“He adored her, he hopefully still does, but the problem is that Brooklyn has a track record for ignoring family birthdays now. It would be devastating for Harper not to hear from him. She hasn’t done anything and she’s only 13-years-old.”

Nicola had previously been vocal about her love for sister-in-law Harper as they pair would regularly hang out with each other. She once told PEOPLE that Harper “is my dream little sister.”

“If I could create the perfect dream little sister, it’s her,” she added. “I’m so blessed I get to have her as my little sister in my life.” Brooklyn was also a big fan of their bond as posted a snap of his wife and sister and captioned the photo: “My girls” as Nicola replied: “My perfect baby sis.”
