Ruth Langsford gives off ‘telling sign’ not all is perfect as she lands in Australia

Fans were thrilled to see Ruth Langsford beaming as she moves forward from her painful year with a trip to Australia to support pal Jane Moore on I’m A Celebrity

Ruth Langsford is putting the stresses of 2024 behind her as she takes a pre-Christmas trip to Australia to appear on I’m A Celebrity spin off Unpacked.

The Loose Women star was photographed after touching down in Australia on Thursday, with the star looking relaxed and “genuinely happy” as she made her way through the airport. Former This Morning host Ruth, 64, announced she and husband of 14 years Eamonn Holmes were divorcing in May.

Amid the former couple’s increasingly messy split, the mum-of-one had headed Down Under in support of her Loose Women co-star and pal Jane Moore. Jane, 62, is part way through her I’m A Celeb stint in the jungle, where she is living with campmates including WAG Coleen Rooney, Strictly’s Oti Mabuse and Danny Jones of McFly fame.

As newly-single Ruth landed in Australia, she was seen smiling as she pulled her airport trolley, telling fans she’s never been able to “travel light”. Body language expert and celebrity astrologist Inbaal Honigman reckons the star looks “genuinely happy” as she takes her solo trip, although she is also showing signs of nervousness as she navigates her new normal following such a stressful year.

Speaking on behalf of Spin Genie, Inbaal Honigman said: “After landing in Australia, Ruth looks genuinely happy, if a little self-conscious. Her smiles at the airport have all the hallmarks of being genuine. First and foremost, we can see her teeth – open-mouthed smiles are rarely fake. In some photos her teeth are even parted, which shows true joy. She’s happy to have landed in the land down under. There are pictures of Ruth smiling with her cheeks raised, eyes narrowed. This shows her smiling with her whole face, where every muscle engages in the smile. This is an expression of heartfelt happiness.

“Having said that, there are a few signs that reveal that Ruth could be feeling a touch of the nerves. The presenter’s hands on the handle of her airport trolley are rather tense. Holding the handle with both hands, in some pictures they appear white-knuckled, gripping tightly. In other photos she has her hands off the trolley, but her palms are clasped together in a protective gesture. She’s not entirely out of the woods emotionally after the tough year she’s had.”

During her flight, Ruth joyfully documented her experience, sharing a photo of three suitcases, captioned: “Australia here I come!! Never could travel light!!! @imacelebrity.” When she landed in Dubai to change planes, she quickly said “goodbye grey skies” as she sipped a glass of fizz. Visibly beaming, she told fans the news that she’d be on Unpacked on Friday.

A source claimed she wanted to take the trip to move on from her painful year. They told The Sun: “It’s been a tough year for Ruth and she’s been putting her best foot forward, she’s thrilled to have been asked to appear on this the spin off show and fly to Australia ahead of Christmas.”

The source added: “The production team are particularly excited they have landed Ruth to join them as they think she’ll be amazing and give the new format a boost.”

Frankie Bridge reveals she’s tried ketamine treatment after 17 year mental health battle

Frankie Bridge spoke openly about her past experience with depression and the treatments she used. She shared her views after Roman Kemp revealed he is adjusting to life without medication.

Frankie Bridge has reflected on being hospitalised when she was on anti-depressants and battling mental health issues.

The 35-year-old singer has been something of an open book about her experience with depression – most prominently writing about it in her book, OPEN: Why asking for help can save your life. On Friday’s edition of Loose Women, the former The Saturdays singer was on the panel to discuss a new statement from radio host Roman Kemp who revealed he had stopped taking anti-depressants after 16 years.

Roman had explained that he was getting to grips with his new experience of emotions, and noted that he wasn’t warning fans to take or stop taking medication. Frankie explained that she hit rock bottom when she was on medication herself.

Drawing on her own experience, the What About Us singer explained: “I started taking antidepressants when I was about 18 and I still ended up in hospital when I was about 21 with really bad depression and anxiety. It’s one of those things for me where they work to a degree in that I’m able to get out of bed in the morning and I’m able to come and work and be present with my friends and family.”

Frankie has been open about her past struggles

She explained that she has “Treatment-resistant depression so actually the antidepressants don’t really work.” She continued: “I’ve had like tests done and my body isn’t able to create seratonin or to keep it. So even if I’m taking antidepressants it’s almost counter productive. But because I’ve been on them for so long for now the fear of coming off them is really scary because I’m like would I end up back in hospital again?”

Frankie went on: “I’ve got children now, a husband. I’ve tried a lot of different ones and I’ve tried different combinations of different antidepressants and things like that. So now I’m constantly trying to think of different things to try so I’ve recently tried ketamine treatment which has been really effective for me but it’s really expensive, it’s not available for everyone.”

Frankie said: “That was a really big deal for me, that was really scary for me. I’ve taken myself off of antidepressants before and the side effects of coming off these things are brutal. I spent two weeks in bed, I felt awful. It’s a really good message to say to people that you can obviously give it a go if you feel ready but you have to do it with a doctor because it’s not that easy just to go right, I’ll stop.”

Earlier on Friday, Roman said in a statement that he shared via social media: “It has now been 4 months since I stopped taking anti-depressants and it’s safe to say they’re out of my system. Something I have taken since I was 15 years old. Now while I’m still learning about why I suddenly want to cry more and may get a bit snappier at my friends, I’m excited at the thought of understanding what the emotional side of me is really like.

“I’m neither for or against taking anti-depressants, I’m about what is right for YOU and if it helps you then go for it. They helped me through a long period of mental struggle in my life but I’m now ready to move on. Only posting this in case anyone was ever worried about starting/stopping.”

Celebrity Apprentice details leaked as Alan Sugar to fly 10 stars out for festive treat

In the Celebrity Apprentice spin-off, back after five years, 10 famous faces will be set tasks by Lord Alan Sugar and hiring for the new series is under way, a source said

Lord Alan Sugar is getting all fired up for his 20th anniversary in the TV boardroom as he brings in a host of stars to boot off his show.

In the Celebrity Apprentice spin-off, back after five years, 10 famous faces will be set tasks by the businessman. But this time they’re in for a festive treat, as Lord Sugar flies them to Finland to meet Father Christmas and make products to sell back in the UK.

A source said: “Lord Sugar will be sending them to Lapland to get a brief from Santa. Hiring for the new series is under way – and there will be the usual firing that we love the show for.”

Insiders say the 20th anniversary special will be aired late next year to coincide with the Beeb’s Comic Relief. The last celebrity show, Comic Relief Does The Apprentice, aired in 2019. The girls’ team won after Loose Women favourite Ayda Field roped in pop star husband Robbie Williams to help.

News of the latest special comes after it was announced last week Lord Sugar, 77, Baroness Karren Brady, 55, and Tim Campbell, 47, will all be back for the regular Apprentice series next year. That show will have another 18 candidates battling it out for Lord Sugar’s £250,000 investment and mentorship. Tasks will include selling tour packages in the Austrian Alps, designing Easter eggs, and creating a virtual pop star.

It comes weeks after Lord Sugar criticised streaming platform ITVX, with the businessman telling fans that he feels “cheated” after having signed up for a subscription. The founder of Amstrad shared a tweet on X, saying: “I feel I have been cheated by ITVX. I paid for a subscription on the basis that there would be no adverts in the programmes.” Lord Sugar added in the tweet: “However, whilst there are no 3rd party adverts, they are constantly advertising their own shows. It’s really frustrating.”

ITVX offers two plans at the moment, including a “free with ads” option. The other, ITVX Premium, is priced at £5.99 a month or £59.99 a year after a 7 day free trial. Its website promises that Premium customers can “watch ad-free,” but a disclaimer warns: “Ad-free applies to our on-demand library only and programmes may contain ITV promotions where contractually required. Live TV plays with ads.” Another page states: “With ITVX Premium, you can watch most shows and movies on demand without the adverts, and download them to watch offline.”

    ITV I’m A Celebrity’s Dean McCullough’s three-word response as he’s evicted from show

I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! fans have voted Dean McCullough to be the second person sent home from the camp just days after Jane Moore was brutally sent packing

The second person has been sent home from the I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! camp.

During Sunday night’s episode, hosts Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly announced that Dean McCullough was the second person to leave the Australian jungle. The vote was between him and Irish boxer Barry McGuigan – who only just won 10 stars for the camp during his ‘impossible’ trial.

Immediately after being voted out, Dean said: “I’m going home, I’m going home, I need my underwear, I’ll see you later! I’m going home!” Speaking to Ant and Dec in the studio following the eviction, he said: “Boys, it’s absolutely nuts. I still can’t believe I’m here.” When Ant and Dec pointed out he didn’t look disappointed to be voted out, he said: “Not at all, I have really soaked up this whole experience. All the trials.”

The hosts then brought up the fact Dean yelled out ‘ I’m A celebrity, get me out of here!’ multiple times to get out of trials. Ant admitted he was harsh with the radio star, with Dean yelling out: “You were so harsh!” However, the hosts claimed it was simply ‘tough love’ to get Dean to finish the tasks as they thought they were “do-able”.

It comes just days after Loose Women’s Jane Moore was sent packing as the first evictee. Earlier this week, Jane was chosen as the first person to leave the Australian jungle after taking part in gruelling trials and eating measly meals of beans and rice.

Jane spoke to Ant and Dec following her departure, describing her stint in the jungle as “such a weird and magical experience”.

When asked if she was disappointed to be first out, she responded: “No more washing up – yes!” She also stated that: “Hard work doesn’t get rewarded.” During her stint in the jungle, Jane came under fire after she accused Barry McGuigan and Danny Jones of being “sexist” and “ageist” over a camp chore.

Reflecting, she said: “I collected the logs, I built the fire, I emptied the dunny, because my partner was Dean, who was on trials all the time. So I did it all on my own, put out the rubbish. I had three jobs. I worked like a dog, and then they gave me the washing up, which is a really tough job to go three times a day all the way to the bottom of the creek, lugging everything. I wasn’t pleased about that, to be honest. I said to Danny when he walked out: ‘don’t give me cleaning’.”

She added that she “can’t wait to get rid of the washing up,” adding: “I’m never washing up again, ever. Yeah, it’s been hard work down there this year.” She also shared her thoughts on who should win the show. Picking Melvin Odoom and Coleen Rooney, she said: “I think Melvin is an absolute slogger. He’s very quiet. He doesn’t push himself forward. Colleen is another one. So they keep everything going. They’re not flamboyant but they’re solid.”

EastEnders schedule shake-up sparks ‘technical error’ as fans spot Jack Branning blunder

EastEnders fans were left baffled during Tuesday’s episode as they noticed a blunder due to the ongoing Summer schedule changes taking place due to sporting events

EastEnders fans spotted a blunder on DI Jack Branning’s (Scott Maslen) work computer during tonight’s episode – and it’s all down to the schedule changes.

Tonight’s episode of EastEnders picked up after last night’s cliff hanger, in which Ravi Gulati (Aaron Thiara) was arrested by Jack Branning over possession with intent to supply. Today, we saw Ravi being questioned in the police station as Priya’s house was searched by the police.

However, Ravi wasn’t giving in to the officers as he offered “no comment” to all of their questions. Ravi’s solicitor then asked for a further private consultation with his client, as the officer in the room was forced to leave the room and suspend the interview. As he left the room, he told his solicitor he needed him to get a message to someone for him – but it was the next part that left fans scratching their heads.

The officer questioning Ravi joined Jack outside who was re watching the interview on his computer. “I reckon he’s sweating,” Jack said about Ravi. The date and time were pinned at the top of Jack’s computer, with some eagle-eyed fans noticing the date said 23/7 instead of today’s date, 22/7.

“This is very particular but did anyone notice Jack’s computer date said 23/7?” asked one fan on Reddit. “Defo done before schedule changes came into play.”

The soap has undergone a number of schedule changes over the summer as huge sporting events including Wimbledon and the UEFA Women’s Euros broadcast on the BBC.

This week, the soap is undergoing another huge schedule shake-up, as the soap will be taken off air tomorrow night (July 23).

This is due to the Women’s Euros second semi-final airing on the BBC from 7.30pm tomorrow night, which will see Germany take on Spain for a place in the all important final.

To make up for the soap being off air on Wednesday, a double bill aired on Monday, meaning tonight’s episode was originally meant to air on Wednesday, hence the date ‘blunder’.

EastEnders isn’t the only soap undergoing schedule changes this week. Emmerdale has been taken off air tonight as the first Women’s Euros semi-final, which will see England take on Italy in an attempt to secure their spot in the final.

Fans can relax again from next week, as EastEnders will be airing in its usual 7.30pm slot from Monday to Thursday, and as always, will be available to stream on iPlayer from 6am that morning.

  • Ozzy Osbourne’s long-suffering health battles before his sad death at 76

Ozzy Osbourne’s long-suffering health battles before his sad death at 76

Rock star Ozzy Osbourne was undergoing a worrying health battle as the Black Sabbath frontman prepared for his last ever gig with the band this month before his death at 76

Ozzy Osbourne has died at the age of 76. The Black Sabbath legend, known to millions as The Prince of Darkness had been battling ill-health in recent years, which caused him to finally bow out of his performing career. He was surrounded by his family.

The Changes musician was suffering from Parkinson’s disease in the lead-up to his death. He underwent a strict training programme in order to be able to headline a giant show in Birmingham called Back To The Beginning on July 5.

In the build-up to the show, Ozzy’s wife Sharon said: “Ozzy’s working with his therapist every single day. He’s doing really well, actually. Ozzy’s number one thing in life is his fans, so he’s working hard to be ready for them, to make this show the perfect way to end things.”

Last year, Ozzy was not well enough to perform at the band’s Rock’N’Roll Hall of Fame induction in America. At the Back To The Beginning show, Ozzy performed on a black throne as he was unable to stand.

Ozzy, who has undergone multiple back and neck surgeries, moved in a specialist rehab therapist in Los Angeles to try to help him stand for several minutes on stage, walk more freely and feel better balanced.

The rocker was in the midst of a worrying health battle before he was set to take to the stage at Villa Park to play in front of around 50,000 fans.

The music legend had not played a live show in nearly seven years, but he made it his mission to produce a knockout performance for Black Sabbath fans for their farewell show at Villa Park. Ozzy committed to his rehab by moving a specialist coach into his home, to give him the fitness he needed to produce the performance.

The show meant a lot to the Prince of Darkness. In an interview with Premier Comms the rocker said he viewed the set as a chance to “say thank you to my fans for always supporting me and being there for me”.

He added: “I couldn’t have done my final show anywhere else. I had to go back to the beginning.”

Ozzy had been through hell in the past few decades and after fully embracing the rock ‘n’ roll lifestyle in his earlier years, his health took a huge hit. Ozzy’s health battle began more than 20 years ago, when in 2003, he broke his neck after falling off a quad bike leading to some extensive back surgery and metal rods being put down his spine.

In February 2019, Sharon revealed he had been admitted to hospital after suffering from flu. She said her husband had experienced “complications” from the illness and doctors advised him to go to hospital.

Sharon tweeted: “As some of you may have heard, Ozzy was admitted to hospital following some complications from the flu. His doctors feel this is the best way to get him on a quicker road to recovery. Thanks to everyone for their concern and love.”

The illness led to him cancelling a string of tour dates while he recovered, including postponing the UK and European legs of his No More Tours 2.

In October 2018, he insisted he was not retiring, telling Rolling Stone: “In essence, what I’m trying to do is slow my lifestyle down to a more comfortable way of living.”

But within months he was forced to postpone another string of tour dates – including a show at the famous Hollywood Bowl – after suffering a fall at his Los Angeles home in April 2019.

In November 2019, he returned to the stage for a one-song performance at the American Music Awards alongside rappers Post Malone and Travis Scott.

The trio performed the song Take What You Want, from Malone’s album Hollywood’s Bleeding, although Osbourne spent most of the performance sat immobile in a gothic-style throne towards the back of the stage.

In 2020, the singer also announced that he had been diagnosed with Parkinson’s around a year before. In an interview with Good Morning America alongside his wife Sharon, he shared: “I had to have surgery on my neck which screwed all my nerves. I found out that I have a mild form of…” Struggling to finish the sentence Sharon stepped in: “It’s Parkin two which is a form of Parkinson’s.”

Osbourne had also been a firm supporter of the health service, having been treated by NHS staff in 2003 after a near-fatal accident at his Buckinghamshire home left him with a fractured neck vertebra, fractured ribs and a broken collarbone.

Despite his setbacks, and his worsening condition, Sharon claimed his voice was as good as ever before his final ever gig. Speaking to The Sun she added: “He’s very happy to be coming back and very emotional about this. Parkinson’s is a progressive disease.

“It’s not something you can stabilize. It affects different parts of the body, and it’s affected his legs. But his voice is as good as it’s ever been.”

Ozzy made his last appearance on stage less than three weeks ago, making dreams come true for Black Sabbath fans in the UK.

Geordie Shore star Kyle Christie has officially tied the knot with wife, Vicky Turner, with his MTV co-stars attending the lavish bash in Italy, minus his ex-girlfriend. The TV personality and his model wife chose Rome as their destination wedding and invited a number of his co-stars to the capital to enjoy the ceremony.

They legally got married back home in December. The likes of Nathan Henry, James Tindale, Sophie Kasaei, Chloe Ferry and Jordan Brook were in attendance. Kyle’s pals shared multiple glimpses into the special day, with the reality star re-posting many moments onto his Instagram Stories for fans to witness.

Kyle rocked a three-piece suit with a cream blazer and vest and black trousers. His new wife looked stunning in a low-cut mesh patterned gown with a simple veil.

When they finally said their I do’s, rainbow-coloured smoke shot up from behind them as they shared a kiss in front of a stunning floral arch.

While walking back down the aisle, the guests threw petals over the happy couple before Kyle stopped to steal another smooch from his bride as the crowd cheered.

The couple walked back up the steps of the gorgeous venue where round tables were set up ready for the festivites. A live band clapped and cheered for the couple as they went back inside.

For the reception, Vicky changed into a form-fitting glittering backless gown with a low neckline. Kyle switched his cream vest and blazer for black ones. One friend filmed them huddled close together as they sliced the wedding cake while a Coldplay song played in the background.

Of course, it wouldn’t be a British event without the night ending with more drinks and an impromptu karaoke session, which saw the guests belting out the lyrics to Sweet Caroline.

Holly, who previously dated Kyle, wasn’t at the wedding. A source confirmed she wouldn’t be there after rumours started swirling that the big day was being filmed for Geordie Shore.

A source told The Sun at the time: “It’s not that there is bad blood between them, as the relationship ended a long time ago, but they don’t really have much to do with each other out of filming group scenes.

“Holly wouldn’t be someone Kyle would add to the guest list.”

Ozzy Osbourne’s final days as he died with devoted wife Sharon by his side

Black Sabbath legend Ozzy Osbourne died at July 22 at the age of 76 after a long and debilitating battle with Parkinson’s. He died surrounded by his wife Sharon and three children

Music legend Ozzy Osbourne spent his final days in his beloved home of Birmingham before his sad death at the age of 76.

The Black Sabbath star died today, surrounded by his wife Sharon, 72, and their children Kelly and Jack following a tough battle with Parkinson’s disease. Over the years, Ozzy suffered many significant health woes, but the rocker’s life changed completely when he was given the diagnosis back in 2020.

Just days before his death, Ozzy fulfilled his dreams of performing one more time with his Black Sabbath band mates as they lit up Birmingham’s Villa Park with their Back To The Beginning gig. Ozzy was determined to get back on stage for one final time, despite his ill health.

In May, he told Sirius XM: “I am in heavy training because I haven’t done any physical work for the last seven years.

“By hook or by crook. I’ve got to make it there. I have got this trainer guy who helps people get back to normal. It’s hard going, but he’s convinced that he can pull it off for me. I’m giving it everything I’ve got.

“It’s endurance. The first thing that goes when you’re laid up is your stamina. I am having my blood pressure taken 15 times a day… I’ve got this f***ing device on my finger. It’s a monitor to say how my heart rate is. I’m constantly in training seven days a week I’ve got this guy who’s virtually living with me, and I’m in bed by seven.”

And in an emotional moment on stage during the Back To The Beginning gig, Ozzy said: “I don’t know what to say, man, I’ve been laid up for like six years. “You have no idea how I feel – thank you from the bottom of my heart,” he told the crowd as he addressed them for what is now the final time.

When asked about his farewell performance, the music icon commented: “It’s a goodbye as far as my live performances go, and what a way to go out.”

Ozzy had made it no secret that he was desperate to return to the UK, having lived in America for decades.

Despite his dreams, various health issues set him and his wife, Sharon, back. They had been expected to reside in their Buckinghamshire home. Speaking in August 2022 after two decades in Los Angeles, he said: “Everything’s f***ing ridiculous (in America).”

Now, it’s emerged that he fulfilled his final wish. On a statement confirming the Prince’s death, the family shared the location as “Birmingham, England,” meaning he made it home, one final time.

Sources close to the family say that Ozzy’s passing was ‘unexpected to be this soon’ but that his children were so grateful to have been around him in his last days after he performed his final gig just over two weeks ago.

Ozzy passed away at the Buckinghamshire mansion where his wife Sharon had lived. Ozzy’s daughters Aimee, 41, and Kelly, 40, were there to care for him as recently as last week after flying in from Los Angeles, a source told The Mail.

A close pal told the publication: “Ozzy was always meant to come back to Britain to live in Buckinghamshire, it was where Sharon had spent so long preparing their family home for him.

“There was much hope that he would be around for a lot longer than this but at one point there were fears they would not get him back from Los Angeles for the concert earlier this month.

“Kelly has been at the house a lot in the last week or so, so has Aimee. It is terribly sad for all of them, they really hoped he would be able to carry on for a bit longer. But it’s so lovely that he had his children around him during his last days.”

Just two weeks before his death, Ozzy also celebrated and watched the engagement of his daughter Kelly. On Saturday July 5, Ozzy officially ended his Prince of Darkness reign as he appeared on stage for one final time.

The rock icon joined his Black Sabbath bandmates at Villa Park, Birmingham in one of the most epic farewell shows in music history.

After the incredible show, the Osbourne family were treated to a beautiful surprise as Kelly’s longtime partner Sid proposed in front of her parents Ozzy and Sharon.

Taking to Instagram the next day to share the joyful news, Kelly, 40, posted the sweet video of Sid’s proposal as he asked to spend the rest of his life with the former reality TV star.

Alongside the video, Kelly wrote: “Oh, and this happened yesterday.” In the heartwarming clip, Sharon was heard saying: “We’ve got to be quiet, hold on,” as she shushed the crew backstage at show. Kelly’s now fiancé was then heard saying: “Kelly, you know I love you more than anything in the world.”

However, Sid’s romantic proposal was swiftly interrupted by a playful Ozzy who shouted: “F*** off! You’re not marrying my daughter.” Clearly familiar with Ozzy’s banter, Sid laughed and continues asking Kelly the all-important question.

He continued: “Nothing would make me happier than spending the rest of my life with you. So, in front of your family and all of our friends, Kelly, will you marry me?”. Kelly then turned around with a look of shock on her face before holding her hands up to her face and nodding ‘yes’.

The video then saw Sid showing the dazzling ring to Ozzy before one of Kelly’s friends yells ‘about time’ as they joked about Sid not proposing sooner. Kelly and Sid then shared a long embrace before sharing a kiss while their loved ones cheered them on in the background.

Kelly and her brother Jack had both made sure they attended their dad’s incredible final gig as they surrounded him with love and praise as he stormed the stage for the very last time.

Moment BBC Radio 1 host breaks down on air as he announces Ozzy Osbourne death

Ozzy Osbourne’s family announced this evening that he died earlier today and the news of his death was then shared by BBC Radio presenter Jack Saunders live on air

Radio host Jack Saunders was emotional whilst announcing the death of Ozzy Osbourne live on air this evening. The presenter shared the news with listeners on BBC Radio 1 earlier after a statement was issued by the family.

Ozzy’s family, including his wife Sharon Osbourne, announced tonight that he died, aged 76, this morning, just weeks after his farewell concert with Black Sabbath. They said in a statement that he had been “surrounded by love”.

BBC Radio presenter Jack, 32, later paid tribute to Ozzy whilst sharing the news with listeners. He described the singer-songwriter as a “legend” as he reflected on his legacy ahead of a playing one of his band’s songs on his radio show.

Jack said: “Bringing the sad news that Ozzy Osbourne has sadly passed away at the age of 76. The Prince of Darkness himself, the frontman of one of the most important heavy metal bands, Black Sabbath, whose second album, Paranoid, remains without doubt the most influential metal album of all time.

“If you’ve had a chance to listen to that album, you’ll know when I say this, but if not, the riffs were cut-throat and raw, and I mean there really wasn’t a consideration to be like something or play up to a certain way. There was only concern to be heard.”

He said: “And this track that I wanna play you from Black Sabbath tonight was the opener to the album. And it was emblematic, set the tone and completely ambitious in its time, which was 1970 by the way. Fresh off the back of the chokehold of the Beatles, this felt like something fresh and different and exciting and … Ozzy’s voice felt timelessly evil, filled with temptation and snare.”

Jack continued: “There was no way once you heard Ozzy do his thing that you were going anywhere but listening to Black Sabbath. Riding the rhythm and blues that had so far shaped the sound of rock and roll, Ozzy Osbourne, on this track and beyond, shaped himself as the Prince of Darkness. Rest in peace to a legend. This is War Pigs by Black Sabbath on Radio 1.”

Jack further paid tribute when he shared the clip on Instagram. He wrote in the caption of his post: “As I was on air tonight, the news broke that we had lost one of the greatest showman the world of metal and music has ever seen.”

He continued by telling his followers: “The bands and artists that dare to fly the flag in the name of rock n roll do so because Ozzy Osbourne and Black Sabbath did first. He was a blessing to music. Rest In Peace the Prince Of Darkness.”

Jeremy Clarkson’s girlfriend shares shocking picture of plane crash after miracle escape

Jeremy Clarkson’s partner, Lisa Hogan, was travelling to London from Spain in the 90s when she had a near-death experience on a plane

Jeremy Clarkson’s girlfriend, Lisa Hogan, ‘amazingly’ survived a plane crash and took to social media to share a terrifying picture of the wreckage from 1996. The 51-year-old model had the horrifying experience 29 years ago when the plane came off the runway at RAF Northolt in London and hit a van on the A40.

At the time, she was heading into London for a film role when the accident happened. This week, she took to her social media page to share a picture from the wreckage as she recalled the shocking moment that saw no casualties. The picture showed the Spanish Learjet 25 plane split in half after colliding into the van.

She was living in Palma, Spain and working on the comedy Fierce Creatures from Monty Python and Fawlty Towers actor John Cleese.

“Amazingly, the pilots, van drivers, and I survived. I took another flight the same day. And landed safely,” she captioned the post on Instagram.

It comes after former Top Gear star Jeremy discussed the couple’s record on airplanes. The duo ‘walked away from three crashes over the years’.

He said to the Sunday Times: “Whenever Lisa and I board an aeroplane, we are usually pretty confident that it will land safely because between us, we’ve walked away from three crashes over the years.

“Both mine involved broken landing gear and were fairly minor, but hers was a proper shunt. She was the only passenger in a Learjet that careered off the end of the runway at Northolt and on to the A40, where it was hit so hard by a van that it split in two.

“It’s amazing no one was killed, and if you Google the images, you’ll see what I mean.”

He went on to say that the ‘law of averages’ suggests they wouldn’t be involved in any more crashes.

Lisa previously told the Irish Independent she thought “everything was fine for a while” when the plane took off from Palma. Lisa said the captain tried to get her to change seats, but she refused to do so.

“I insisted on sitting where I was, which was just as well because that was the area where the van came through when we crashed and I would have been killed instantly,” she told the publication, with her refusal to move seats possibly saving her life.

A few hours later, she booked another flight and returned to Spain.
