Strictly’s Wynne Evans breaks down in tears after BBC show exit as star forced to intervene

It Takes Two took an emotional turn after Strictly Come Dancing star Wynne Evans was left in tears following his exit from the BBC show

Strictly star Wynne Evans was left wiping away the tears during his emotional exit interview on It Takes Two tonight.

The Welsh opera star became the latest famous face to get the boot from the glitzy BBC One show at the weekend. Wynne was partnered with Katya Jones, and became a firm-favourites thanks to their jaw-dropping routines.

However, on Sunday (November 17) Wynne was voted off from the competition, following a dance-off at the Blackpool Tower Ballroom against Montell Douglas and Johannes Radebe.

All four judges opted to save the latter couple, meaning Wynne’s time on the show was over. And on Monday (November 18) Wynne and Katya appeared on It Takes Two – and things took an emotional turn.

During their chat, co-star Jamie Borthwick gate crashed and joined Katya and Wynne. The EastEnders star gushed over his “best mate” Wynne – causing him to break down. Jamie said: “Who’d have thought this man and me would become best mates?

“It’s not going to be the same, but I’ve got a friend for life. He’s amazing this man,” he added. Katya then quipped: “This is what Strictly is about, no one is going to remember the scores or the comments you got.

“It’s the friendships they create on the show and genuine relationships. I’m so glad you had each other,” the dancer said. As he started to well up, host Fleur East then handed Wynne some tissues as he used them to wipe his tears.

During the results show on Sunday night (November 17) Wynne gushed about his time on Strictly. He said: “It’s been wonderful, I’ve got to say. I feel like it’s what Strictly is all about.

“If I can come and do Strictly and last until week nine, then anybody can get out there and dance and have a brilliant time. Strictly is such a brilliant family, such a precious family, that I want everybody here in this room and at home to look after it for the generations to come because it is a wonderful, wonderful thing.”

I’m a Celeb’s Jane Moore reveals personal bombshell leaving campmates speechless

Jane Moore, known for sharing her views on Loose Women and her lengthy career in journalism, spoke to campmates on I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! on ITV on Wednesday

Jane Moore once left a tattoo parlour mid procedure – because it was “too painful” to complete.

The Loose Woman told her I’m a Celebrity co-stars the comical story about when she went for the etching at just 18 – but found it too agonising so left after an outline was done.

Speaking on Wednesday’s show on ITV, she said the outline now resembles a “golden eagle” because her bum has got bigger since. The confession left her campmates, including Corrie actor Alan Halsall, McFly singer Danny Jones, N-Dubz star Tulisa Contostavlos, speechless.

The gang were eventually pictured bursting into laughter at Jane’s cheeky mishap, which she shared after asking Danny about his tattoo on his right leg. The musician, from Bolton, Greater Manchester, admitted he was underage when he got the large inking done but, as a kid, wanted something with Bruce Springsteen lyrics on.

Then Jane, who has been a regular on Loose Women since 2013, said: “When I was about 18, I thought I’m gonna get a bluebird on my bum. They just did the outline and I went ‘too painful, thanks’, and I just left… So I’ve just got this outline. It’s like a golden eagle now because my arse has got bigger.”

It offered Danny, 38, light relief as later in the show, he broke down as he opened up on battling anxiety since he was a teenager. Talking about therapy and his emotions, jungle co-stars Oti Mabuse and Tulisa both praised the musician for opening up.

Asked about therapy, Danny went on: “Yeah, I’ve been in therapy since I was 19 for anxiety.” It’s then that he detailed an on-air panic attack that left him “freaking out” during a televised interview. He revealed: “I was freaking out and I couldn’t answer the question that got asked to me. Heart rate goes crazy.”

Jane had asked whether he’d suffered with it from childhood, with Danny becoming upset with his head in his hands as he told her: “I think I escaped a lot.”

As he broke down, Tulisa said in the Bush Telegraph: “We’re seeing a lot of emotion coming out of Danny which is beautiful.” Back in camp Danny then thanked his campmates.

Sad truth behind Zoe Ball’s shock decision to quit Radio 2 despite £950k salary

Zoe Ball is leaving BBC Radio 2 next month after six years on air following a tough year after losing her beloved mum

On Tuesday, BBC Radio 2 presenter Zoe Ball shocked listeners when she announced that she was leaving her duties on the show after six years – and now the real reason for her departure has been ‘revealed’.

Zoe, 53, shared her heartfelt gratitude, saying she is “really touched” by the wave of well-wishes following her announcement that she will be stepping down as host of BBC Radio 2’s Breakfast Show.

The media star plans to leave next month and cites wanting to “focus on family” as her reason but also expressed that she’s “really chuffed” for Scott Mills, who will step into the early morning role.

Ball succeeded Chris Evans in 2019 and after six years, she’s ready to bid farewell to the dawn chorus, indicating it’s time for her to “step away from the very early mornings and focus on family”, with her final broadcast scheduled for December 20. Meanwhile, Mills, currently hosting Radio 2’s afternoon slot, is set to take over from January.

On Instagram, Ball showed appreciation: “Really touched, thanks for the messages, thrilled for my mates Scott, Trevor, Spoony and Sophie.” TV favourite Rylan Clark hailed Zoe as “being the best wake-up for the past six years” while also lauding Mills in his Instagram stories: “Scott, I’ve never been more happy for someone. If you grazed your knee you would bleed radio. I know how much this means to you and I’m so so proud of you”.

Beaming alongside Mills for a photo op outside New Broadcasting House, Zoe told reporters of her pride for her colleague Mills. “It has all turned out nicely,” she said contently.

“I’m really chuffed for my mate and really excited about it.” Ball warmed the hearts of her fans during her Tuesday radio show when she addressed her audience, saying, “You know I think the world of you all, listeners, and it truly has been such a privilege to share the mornings with you, to go through life’s little ups and downs, we got through the lockdown together, didn’t we?”

“We’ve shared a hell of a lot, the good times, the tough times, there’s been a lot of laughter. And I am going to miss you cats.” Despite the love for her job, Ball couldn’t resist adding a note on her early starts: “But I won’t miss the 4am alarm call, if I’m completely honest.”

Zoe’s shock departure from BBC Radio 2 comes after she had an unexplained six-week absence this summer. Listeners were growing increasingly concerned for the radio presenter, but after six weeks, Zoe returned to the show as she declared ‘I’m back!’ in an upbeat tone.

At the time, Zoe said she was happy to be back as she told Radio 2 listeners that she was a ‘wanderer’ no more. However, insiders have now claimed that the much-loved star was masking the unhappiness that had kept her off air for six weeks.

Sources have claimed that Zoe’s reasoning for leaving her duties on Radio 2 are down to a desire to spend more time with her kids, Woody, 23, and Nellie, 14 – after the death of her beloved mum earlier this year.

    Zoe and her son, Woody

Instagram/woody_cook)“She simply wants to live differently, which means having more of a family life,” the insider told Mail Online after Zoe herself said that she has had enough of the 4am wake-up calls after six years on the show.

The catalyst for the change in Zoe’s perspective on her work-life balance is reportedly down to the passing of her beloved mother Julia, who died earlier this year.

Of her decision to finally call it a day after six years at BBC Radio 2, a source said: “In the end, this was completely her decision. She came to them [the BBC] in September after she had had a break to think about her life and said: ‘I’m done.’ The BBC… wanted a bit of time to put everything in place, which they were able to do. They looked at who might do it… I think they only seriously considered Vernon Kay and Scott Mills.”

“I mean, phones and keys are my killer… it is the one thing that drives Frank completely insane, where I’ll go, ‘where’s my phone?’ constantly.

“I don’t know what it is, I have this thing about phones, everything else is fine though…. not a suitcase though, I’m not that bad!” she added, having a dig at her co-star Coleen.

“I said ‘Wow, you’re keen!’ as a bit of a joke, and we chatted, and he said he enjoyed meeting me and would like to stay in touch.

“It was very relaxed. And then he went away with England the next day so I didn’t see him for a couple of weeks. But we spoke on the phone every single night while he was away and one night we spoke for four hours,” Christine added.

“So by the time we met again which was a couple of weeks later, we’d done all the awkward chats.

Loose Women is set to honour the beloved late panellist with a special tribute today (October 16) marking the 10th anniversary of her untimely passing.

Close friend Jane McDonald recently revealed that she believes that Lynda is still guiding her life in some ways years after her death.

The pair were very close friends after appearing on Loose Women together from 2004 until 2010 and Jane says Lynda gave her other career breaks along the way.

“So I still think Lynda’s guiding us all in our own ways. Her and I became really, really good friends over the years of Loose Women,” Jane told the White Wine Question time podcast. “I’ll always be grateful to Lynda for guiding me a little bit.”

The TV star’s £1.9million estate caused a public dispute as her two sons Robbie and Michael alleged Mr Pattemore splashed “thousands of pounds on lavish holidays and other luxuries”.

But In June 2016, a document released by the High Court showed that the actual value of said estate was only £166,000. Her actual debts, according to the document, numbered more than £1.7million.

In 2017, it was reported that Michael and Robbie were to be left with just £50,000 each of their mother’s estate. At the time, various outlets reported that they had been “betrayed” by their step-father.

At the time, Lynda’s son Michael argued: “It’s a kick in the teeth hearing about his hell when he’s sitting on around £5million of property, much of which was bought with our mum’s money. None of Mum’s family or friends will speak to him now.”

Loose Women star Denise Welch has opened up about the moment she knew “life would never be the same” with son Matty Healy and admits she found it “tough”. Denise shares The 1975 frontman with ex-husband Tim Healy.

The 67-year-old was working on Coronation Street and living in Cheshire when Matty met bandmates Adam Hann and Ross MacDonald at Wilmslow High School before recruiting drummer George Daniel. Denise says she and Tim “let them be in the garage” so they could rehearse.

She admits she would often find herself “stepping over” members of other bands who had enjoyed a heavy night. Although she confesses that she thought it was “lovely” having her son and his friends around.

Denise however admits her life “changed forever” when the band released their song “Chocolate” in 2013. The song charted in both the US and UK while the band’s self-titled album was a success on both sides of the Atlantic.

Denise opened up about The 1975’s early days in her garage during an appearance on the How to Fail podcast with Elizabeth Day. She said: “They started there, they would eat there.

“What was lovely is that because that was the hub of their band rehearsals, even though it was years before anything happened, all of the girlfriends would come over.

“Whereas often with boys, the boys go to the girlfriend’s house and without having a daughter, it was quite nice.

“And then of course Louis, because there’s 12 years between my boys, same dad but 12 years in between, and they’ve got a little toddler who is trying to knock on and standing longingly outside the rehearsal room trying to be in the band.

“Then when they were about 22/23, Chocolate, one of their signature songs and one of the first songs Matty and George wrote [that] took off. There was no, ‘Oh, you’re going to university. You know, we know a year in advance what’s going to happen’. They were just gone.

“And they were gone internationally. And then that was tough. I had a little one as well and that kind of filled the gap but that was hard because I knew life would never be the same, they’re not going to come home at weekends and get their washing done.”

Denise says she is often seen as “the Virgin Mary” to fans of the band. And admits she gets “emotional” when she watches Matty performing.

She added: “It’s very emotional and sometimes when there’s 20,000 people again at the O2, for example, I want to scream, ‘You’re all here because of me.’

“Forty-two hours of labour pushing him out. Thank you. Thank you. I used to scream at them to shut up with the songs, and now when they sing them, I’m thinking that’s my pension.”

ITV’s Lorraine was left in chaos when a huge bang was heard during Tuesday’s episode. Ravir Sing was standing in for the programme’s usual presenter when she invited The Wanted singer Nathan Sykes on for a chat.

The pop star, 32, had just started to open up about his autism diagnosis and how his life had changed since then, especially when coming to terms with the death of his former bandmate Tom Parker, who died of a brain tumour in 2022 at the age of just 33.

He said: “I didn’t know how I worked in situations but once the diagnosis happened…” but he was suddenly cut off by a loud noise.. Ranvir turned around and said: “I think someone has fallen over there.” Visibly shocked, Nathan said: “Ooh, I hope they’re okay.”

The pair then resumed their conversation and Nathan, who has just released his new album Ultraviolet and has written or co-written every single track on the record, explained that he has to work slightly ‘differently’ when he is in the studio but is able to do that because of his diagnosis.

He added: “Everyone experiences it differently so everyone will react differently in different situations but for me I struggle to understand emotions and understand emotional cues.

“I have to work slightly differently as a writer to be able to get the best out of me. Since the diagnosis, it’s allowed me to put myself in a position where I can be like ‘Oh, I can have conversations now and say yes to things that I wouldn’t have said yes to before.”

Ranvir then pressed Nathan for details of what sort of opportunities he turned down in the past and, while he couldn’t go into specifics, he did admit that he had allowed some huge things had passed him by.

He added: “So many things. I probably couldn’t say with NDAs and all that sort of stuff, I’d get in so much trouble. Some amazing opportunities, both here and in America.

“I [now] have the understanding. Even like today, you can make the adjustments of being able to come to the studio and like familiarise myself with the lights and stuff from a sensory point of view.”

    Ranvir Singh

    View 3 Images

Ranvir seemed to think someone had fallen over and that’s what caused the loud bang

Nathan was in his late teens when he found fame alongside Tom, who would have just turned 37, as well as Siva Kaneswaran, 36, Max George, 37, and 35-year-old Jay McGuinness. The band managed to sell more than 12 million records during their initial stint, and are still best known for their hit track Glad You Came.

But Nathan admitted that because he was so much younger than his co-stars, that had a bit of an impact on him, and it was discovered during his autism assessment that he has a tendency to ‘mask’ how he really feels about things.

“I think there was a big age gap as well but one of the things that came up in my assessment is that I’m absolutely amazing at masking. So, I’ve lived so long behind the front of a mask and I’m very good at giving people what they expect. I’ll go above and beyond to please people, sometimes to my own detriment.”

Pride of Britain winner sets sail on ‘magical’ surprise trip

After years campaigning for fellow victims of the infected blood scandal, Michelle Tolley couldn’t believe she had been gifted a P&O Cruises holiday

When Michelle Tolley won an award at the Daily Mirror’s Pride of Britain Awards for her campaign work, she was on top of the world. But there was another surprise in store for her.

The 60-year-old (or as she likes to say, “59 plus one”) has been a tireless campaigner, fighting for answers for the more than 30,000 people infected with HIV and hepatitis C as part of the NHS infected blood scandal.

Last year, she won a Pride of Britain Special Recognition Award alongside fellow campaigners Andrew Evans and Jason Evans.

Michelle was at the side of the stage with other winners, watching midwife Agnes Nisbett receive an award. Hosts Carol Vorderman and Ashley Banjo told Agnes she was receiving a cruise holiday from P&O Cruises – the new headline partner for the awards from this year – before revealing that every 2024 winner would also get the same prize.

“I was so happy for her,” says Michelle. “Then they said, ‘No, all of you have won a cruise holiday!’”

Michelle Tolley was gifted a P&O Cruises holiday

For Michelle, this amazing surprise came after decades of ill health and hard work supporting fellow victims and holding the government to account.

She was infected with hepatitis C when receiving a blood transfusion following the birth of her first child in 1987. She endured 28 years of fatigue and illness, her symptoms dismissed by a doctor, before she was eventually diagnosed. And it was another year until she began treatment.

“I was so angry. I said to my husband Dean, ‘I have to channel this into something good, or I don’t know what I will do,’” Michelle says.

She went on to manage a support group for fellow sufferers, worked alongside the Hepatitis C Trust, and presented at the official government enquiry.

After all that, the prospect of a relaxing holiday was more than welcome. And Michelle and Dean hadn’t been abroad since they were married in 1984.

“I said to Dean, ‘Either I’m going on my own or you’ll have to come with me,’” laughs Michelle.

“We celebrated our 40th wedding anniversary a week after the ceremony last October, and when we booked our Canary Islands cruise holiday for May, I told P&O Cruises that I was thinking about renewing our wedding vows.

“They later called me back and said, ‘You mentioned renewing your vows – we’ve organised that for you.’

“They did everything. They gave me the most beautiful bouquet of flowers, did our photographs, gave us a beautiful framed photo, and even treated us to two lovely meals.”

The couple travelled on board Ventura. Michelle’s only sailing experience was a journey she took when she was nine, and she couldn’t believe the difference.

“Just seeing the ship was mindblowing,” she says. “It felt like Christmas day and seeing all your presents. I had a childish urge to squeal – I was welling up with emotion.

As well as their special vow renewal, Michelle and Dean made the most of all the facilities on board, enjoying the incredible food, the on-board shops, the pools and the theatre. They also got to explore Madeira and the Canary Islands.

“At our first destination, in Madeira, I’d never seen so many banana trees in all my life. I thought we’d just have a wander, but then I saw a taxi and asked the driver, ‘How much for an hour?’ His name was Manuel – he gave us a great price and took us on a tour of the island.”

Following their first adventure ashore, Michelle and Dean were ready to embrace some different ways of exploring, whether by tuk-tuk or river boat.

“In Las Palmas, we did a tuk-tuk tour,” says Michelle. “You should have seen us just trying to get into it – it would have been a brilliant comedy sketch!”

But the tour was a great way to explore the Old Town and take in the colourful buildings, as well as learning about the history of the city and island from their friendly guide.

“Our guide was so nice and at the end she said I’ve never had so much fun with my passengers,” laughs Michelle.

It wasn’t just the Canaries that inspired the couple.

“Lisbon was our last destination on our way back home and we did a coach and river cruise,” says Michelle. “It was really interesting and we got to see a lot of things, from city views to the landmarks along the River Tagus.”

By the end of their holiday, Michelle and Dean were such converts that they are excited about repeating the experience. Michelle says, “We were treated like royalty, I felt like the queen of Ventura. It was all over too quickly. The food was great and the staff were really lovely.

“If you’ve never been on a cruise holiday, I’d say do it. The facilities are fantastic and everyone is so nice.”

Carol Vorderman has revealed that she’s now a ‘party animal’ after previously suffering with chronic pain

Carol Vorderman has opened up about spending the last year with a chronic pain condition, revealing that she’s since turned into a “party animal”. The TV presenter, who is hosting the Mirror’s Pride of Britain Awards tomorrow night with Ashley Banjo, gave an update on her health when stopping by This Morning today.

The 64-year-old told OK! earlier this week that she had been “very poorly” throughout the year, having been diagnosed with sudden rheumatoid arthritis. Having stepped down from her LBC Sunday radio show as a result, she said that it had been “hellish health-wise” while she coped with the symptoms.

Now, Carol has revealed what brought her out the other side and turned her into a party animal as a result. Speaking to This Morning’s Ben Shephard and Cat Deeley, Carol said that she “hit burn out” after being a “workaholic” for decades.

“I’m a gym bunny and I did my rotator cuff in. By the time I had my Wellwoman bloods done in December, I had an inflammatory marker,” she added.

However, after treating the high inflammatory levels from her rotator cuff issues, she developed “chronic and sudden rheumatoid arthritis within two days”.

She said: “My hands were twice the size. I couldn’t move without crying in pain. Chronic pain for months and months while they found the right information.

“The NHS has been superb. I’m on the right drugs now and I’m off the steroids but I would live that year again because it’s been like an intervention. Suddenly, I appreciate everything in my life. Every wonderful person.”

Carol said that she’s been catching up with old friends. “Now, I’m back to being a bit of a party animal. I’ll be in the wrong pages of the tabloids.”

The ex Countdown star turned heads on the Pride of Britain red carpet on Monday night, with the pre-recorded ceremony set to air tomorrow night. She joined Diversity’s Ashley Banjo yet again to host the 26th annual awards, celebrating the nation’s unsung heroes.

Yesterday, Prime Minister Keir Starmer welcomed this year’s winners to Downing Street as he called them “the very best of our country”. He said: “The stories, I find them so uplifting,” speaking to Asha Ali Rage, winner of the Special Recognition award for launching Dream Chasers FC in Small Heath, to help keep teenagers off the streets.

“I always arrive thinking of this problem, that problem, like the world is on my shoulders. But the moment I hear the first story, I think, ‘give your head a wobble’. You’re doing amazing things here,” the Prime Minister went on. “Loads of people sitting in their living rooms may well say, ‘if they can do that, maybe I can do that’.
