Strictly’s Anton Du Beke shares heartbreak over wife’s ‘cruel and inexplicable’ diagnosis

Strictly Come Dancing judge Anton Du Beke has been married to his wife Hannah Summers since 2017 and the couple share twins George and Henrietta, who were born via IVF

Strictly Come Dancing star, Anton Du Beke, had just three words to say when he found out his wife, Hannah, was pregnant

Strictly Come Dancing judge Anton Du Beke has candidly opened up about his wife’s harrowing struggle with endometriosis and its impact on their path to becoming parents.

The beloved BBC star tied the knot with marketing executive Hannah Summers in 2017, after first crossing paths at Wentworth Golf Club in Surrey in 2012. The couple were overjoyed to welcome twins George and Henrietta shortly after their nuptials, thanks to successful IVF treatment.

However, during an intimate chat on Giovanna Fletcher’s Happy mum Happy Baby podcast, Anton shared that Hannah had serious concerns about their ability to start a family due to her debilitating condition of endometriosis.

The NHS states endometriosis is “where cells similar to those in the lining of the womb (uterus) grow in other parts of the body. It can have a big impact on your life, but there are treatments that can help”.

The esteemed dancer confessed his bewilderment at life’s cruelty, as he watched Hannah lovingly interact with her nephews, questioning the fairness of their IVF journey.

He expressed: “I knew I wanted to be with her, I saw her with her nephews. She’s so kind and so caring, I just couldn’t understand the universe.”

Anton lamented the seeming injustice from above, saying: “And whoever is upstairs, if anyone’s upstairs, looking down and going ‘you are the most perfect person to have children, but I’m not going to let you have any children because I’m going to give you this’.

“And I’m going to say ‘you’re going to have this endometriosis, and you’re going to suffer with this all of your life, chronically, and I’m not going to let you have any children.

“I thought that was peculiar, cruel, and inexplicable and unforgivable. And if ever I go up to somewhere and meet this person I would say ‘I think you’re not OK with decisions like this, this doesn’t make any sense to me.”

Anton has openly discussed the challenges he and his wife Hannah faced throughout their IVF journey, which ultimately strengthened their bond. The pair were fortunate as the procedure succeeded on their initial try, leading to the arrival of their twins, George and Henrietta, in 2017, with their wedding following later that year.

During an emotional conversation with Giovanna, Anton revealed his former ignorance about endometriosis and stressed the need for greater government investment in women’s healthcare.

Looking back on their experience, he revealed: “Then we went through the process of IVF, well crying out loud. You girls are extraordinary. As much as I want to get involved, all I can do is hold your hand. It makes me emotional every time I talk about it. The injections, the stress, the anxiety. I have anxiety and stress but it’s not my body.

“She has these injections and the bruises in the bum, in the thigh, in the stomach. And you’re trying to help but what can you do? Whatever you want, tell me and I’ll do it but that’s all you have and it’s horrendous as a man to watch it.

“You feel so inadequate and you want to do so much more but I can’t do anything. And that’s why you girls are so extraordinary, you’re extraordinary that you do all this stuff.”

  • Gregg Wallace reveals how he feels about Rod Stewart after singer’s ‘tubby’ swipe

Gregg Wallace reveals how he feels about Rod Stewart after singer’s ‘tubby’ swipe

Sir Rod Stewart last year branded Gregg Wallace ‘a tubby, bald-headed, ill-mannered bully’ and claimed the former MasterChef star ‘humiliated’ wife Penny Lancaster during her time on the BBC show

Former MasterChef star Gregg Wallace has addressed comments made by Sir Rod Stewart and revealed what he really thinks of the legendary rocker. In December 2024, Sir Rod alleged that the presenter “humiliated” his wife Penny Lancaster on Celebrity MasterChef in 2021, following Wallace stepping away from the BBC programme while the show’s production company Banijay UK investigates claims of misconduct.

The veteran singer wrote: “So Greg Wallace gets fired from Master Chef. Good riddance Wallace… You humiliated my wife when she was on the show, but you had that bit cut out didn’t you? You’re a tubby, bald-headed, ill-mannered bully. Karma got ya. Sir Rod Stewart.”

Loose Women star Penny said the following month that that she did not know her husband was going to make accusations about Wallace’s behaviour until she saw a post on Instagram.

Wallace, who was formally sacked from the BBC earlier this month following an inquiry into his alleged misconduct, has now discussed Sir Rod and Penny’s comments.

In an interview with The Sun, where he also reveals how he feels about his former co-host John Torode’s MasterChef exit, Wallace said: “I’m actually a Rod Stewart fan. I’ve been to see him twice. So that hurt me. Somebody like that carries a lot of weight. But there was no bullying and no harassing.”

Speaking about Sir Rod’s Instagram post on Loose Women in December, Penny admitted: “I didn’t realise my husband had sent that post out until it was out. And of course, you can imagine the influx of inquiries there were.

“I most definitely was witness and victim to some of the bullying and harassment behaviour of Gregg Wallace, and unfortunately, a lot of those involved in the production team were also witness to that, and I really feel that he used his position of power to, I believe, intimidate and cause distress to a lot of people on set.

“And it’s really unfortunate that someone like him is allowed to get away with that, and while others sort of stand by and let it happen at the same time.”

She added that she was “in shock” by Sir Rod’s message, recalling: “I felt a little bit vindicated that something was put out there, going back to sort of that whole Me Too (movement), it’s shocking to think how many women do suffer in the hands of… (men) in a powerful position and are too afraid to talk out.

“They don’t feel at the time that they’re going to be supported or listened to. So sometimes it can take a few years later for someone to mention something. It gives the other victims and people that have suffered the confidence to come forward.”

Following the BBC confirming his exit from MasterChef earlier this month, in the wake of a report that saw 45 out of 83 allegations made against him upheld, Wallace said: “For eight months, my family and I have lived under a cloud. Trial by media, fuelled by rumour and clickbait.

“None of the serious allegations against me were upheld. I challenged the remaining issue of unwanted touching but have had to accept a difference in perception, and I am deeply sorry for any distress caused. It was never intended.”

The report found that the “majority of the allegations against Mr Wallace (94%) related to behaviour which is said to have occurred between 2005 and 2018”, with only one allegation substantiated after 2018.

It also concluded that the “majority of the substantiated allegations against Mr Wallace related to inappropriate sexual language and humour”, adding that “a smaller number of allegations of other inappropriate language and being in a state of undress were also substantiated”, with “one incident of unwelcome physical contact” also substantiated.

The report noted that during the course of the investigation, which was over a seven-month period, Wallace was diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder, and said that the findings should be viewed in the context of his neurodiversity.

In his statement, Wallace added: “I’m relieved that the Banijay report fully recognises that my behaviour changed profoundly in 2018. Some of my humour and language missed the mark. I never set out to harm or humiliate. I always tried to bring warmth and support to MasterChef, on screen and off.

“After nearly 20 years on the show, I now see that certain patterns, shaped by traits I’ve only recently begun to understand, may have been misread. I also accept that more could have been done, by others and by myself, to address concerns earlier. A late autism diagnosis has helped me understand how I communicate and how I’m perceived. I’m still learning.”

  • Gemma Collins’ ‘risky move after 2 stone weight loss with something to prove’

Gemma Collins’ ‘risky move after 2 stone weight loss with something to prove’

Former The Only Way Is Essex star Gemma Collins is said to be close to signing a big money deal which could see her return to the I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! jungle

Could The GC be returning to the I'm A Celebrity... jungle?

She’s the diva who’s never far from a headline – and Gemma Collins is set to grab some more as she prepares to head back into the jungle, nearly a decade after her famous early exit. This time, however, it’s a whole different ballgame and there’s serious money (and pride) on the line.

The 43-year-old reality star is said to be close to signing a deal to take part in I’m A Celebrity: All Stars, the spin-off series filming this autumn and due to hit our screens next year. Insiders say the offer is “too good to turn down”.

A source claims to new, “ITV bosses love Gemma because they know they’ll get plenty of drama and some fabulous diva moments. She might not last long – in fact, she probably won’t – but that will make it funny and unmissable viewing. They want her in there, they know the GC is a box office winner. Love her or loathe her, whether she cries, stamps her feet or has people in stitches, she’ll win viewers and that’s what they want.

Gemma’s brief jungle stint was in 2014(Image: PA)

“Gemma has been keeping a relatively low profile – by GC standards – so she knows this could be a real boost. There’s an awful lot riding on it. Following years of weight battles she has lost two stone recently, she’s in a good place. She’s feeling more confident than ever and has said she can’t wait to show off her body in a bikini on the show.”

But while the big payday may sound like a dream come true – her potential fee is rumoured to be £150, 000, a far cry from the £40,000 she was reportedly given for her first jungle stint in 2014 – there’s no denying it comes with a lot of pressure.

The jungle whispers come after a difficult time for the former TOWIE star, who revealed last month that she’d been forced to beef up security at her Essex home after being targeted by a stalker – an ordeal she described as one of the most “frightening” experiences of her life.

A big jungle return could be just the boost she needs. But can she go the distance this time?

Fans will remember her short-lived appearance in 2014, where she made her mark but faced criticism when she dramatically left after just three days.

Who could forget her helicopter meltdown, her flat-out refusal to eat jungle food and those teary confessions in the Bush Telegraph? It was peak GC and that’s why appearing on the All Stars edition, to be filmed in South Africa, could be a golden opportunity.

Previously sharing the real reason she quit back in 2014, she explained, “My time was short in the jungle and not many people know that I was robbed and physically attacked 24 hours before leaving for Australia. I didn’t want to let anyone down, so I still went in. However, I was in a terrible state and shock, as you can imagine, and couldn’t see it through.

Photo shows Gemma Collins wearing a cream flowing dress and a wide brimmed black hat holding a cocktail while stood next to a smartly-dressed Rami Hawash

“I took lots of stick over it, but if you was robbed and attacked and then sent into the jungle, I’m sure you would have struggled, too. I would never let anyone destroy my dreams again.”

According to PR expert Lynn Carratt, Gemma will use a jungle appearance to reignite her TV career. “She hasn’t actually been on our screens since 2022, when she was in a segment on BBC ’s Springwatch. She also had a guest section on The Big Breakfast as an agony aunt.

“I don’t think she’ll be doing this for the money. She’s got over 2 million followers on Instagram and is doing lucrative brand deals every week. She’s just done one with Netflix for the series Too Much and she has an active sculpt collection at Debenhams.

“Reality TV, however, is Gemma’s bread and butter, from TOWIE to Dancing On Ice to her own reality show. That’s how she started and how she made her name. With the jungle, she has a lot to prove. She lasted three days last time. People are going to want to see her go through it. She’s dramatic, entertaining and unpredictable.

“Everything’s been a bit up and down for Gemma, but she’s looking great, she’s lost two stone and she’ll probably lose more before any filming begins. She might feel fitter and be able to handle jungle life better. It’s not for the faint-hearted. It’s a risk, but if she can prove herself, it could propel her back into the spotlight in a big way.”

Well, if the GC back in the jungle is on next year’s bingo card, we’re here for it!

Stacey Solomon and Joe Swash’s busy life is taking a toll on their relationship, with Joe struggling under the pressure

Amid ever busier work schedules, a source has revealed to new magazine that the juggle between work and family life is taking its toll on Stacey Solomon and Joe Swash. The couple have vowed to take time out to remember why they’re so good for each other. Stacey and Joe have a blended family of six children and are sharing the ups and downs of life at Pickle Cottage – and their relationship – in their BBC reality show.

Alongside looking after their adorable brood and other work commitments, filming can be exhausting and is proving particularly tough on Joe, claims the source.

“Joe is under a lot of pressure. He’s a wonderful father and does so much. They’ve still got young children so it’s hard work, especially with most of them still demanding their parents’ attention,” the source explains. They also claim that Stacey’s other projects, including her hit BBC show Sort Your Life Out, which she has been filming across the country in recent weeks, has led to Joe stepping up more at home.

Stacey and Joe have a blended family of six children

Last week, the couple appeared as armchair critics on Celebrity Gogglebox – and raised eyebrows when Joe joked that he wanted to “get away” from his other half. “When the kids grow up, I’m going to the moon to get away from you. You’re off your head,” Joe said in a tongue- in-cheek comment, which left Stacey laughing. While the couple can see the humorous side of their disagreements on screen, the source says it’s not been a bed of roses for them behind closed doors. “The pressure is starting to show. They thought they could be The Waltons version of The Kardashians, but it’s such hard work,” they explained. The source continued, “There’s tension in the air and there is a bit of bickering. But it puts a strain on any relationship. You look at those on reality shows, such as the wives in The Real Housewives, with cameras in their houses 24/7, and a lot of their relationships crack under the pressure.“ Stacey, 35, and Joe, 43, who often share insights into their family life – the good, the bad and the funny – on their social media accounts, got together in 2016, after initially meeting on I’m A Celebrity in 2010. They married in 2022 in a beautiful ceremony in the grounds of their Essex home, dubbed Pickle Cottage by Stacey.

Stacey and Joe often share the ups and downs of their relationship
Stacey and Joe often share the ups and downs of their relationship

And it’s no wonder life at home can be hectic. The couple have three kids together – Rex, six, Rose, three, and Belle, two – while Stacey is also mum to Zachary, 17, and Leighton, 12, and Joe has 18-year-old son Harry with his ex Emma Sophocleous. They’ve not shied away from the difficulties of family life, with series one of their TV show documenting several tough moments between the couple. One episode showed Stacey devastated after Joe didn’t show up to look after the kids so she could have an important meeting. Her husband eventually arriving five hours late, to Stacey’s visible dismay. “Joe was supposed to come to this meeting, but he’s been delayed indefinitely it seems,” Stacey said to camera. Joe then arrived and apologised for being “20 minutes late” due to traffic, with a frustrated Stacey correcting him that he was actually several hours late. During the show, Joe was also seen opening up about his battles with ADHD as he was filmed meeting a psychiatrist to help him “get a grip” on his diagnosis. He admitted he wasn’t “in the best place”.

“I would love to know what I can actually do to support him because I try my hardest but I think sometimes I probably escalate the situation because I get frustrated,” admitted Stacey after talking to Joe about his appointment. She added, “I just want to be there to support Joe, whatever that means.” Alongside her TV work, Stacey recently announced that she’s launching her own perfume range and she has ongoing partnerships with brands including George at Asda and Abbott Lyon. She also co-owns hair and beauty range REHAB. Things don’t appear to be slowing down anytime soon either, after it was confirmed earlier this year that Stacey and Joe’s show has been commissioned for a second season. And filming is thought to be underway already. But the source maintains that a break away from the cameras – however small– is just what Stacey and Joe need. And they’re aware that they need to focus on each other, given the frenetic nature of their lives at the minute. “They’re worried that if they don’t have a break from the cameras and the limelight, it could affect what makes their relationship special,” the source claims.

“They’re still very much in love and are really trying to focus on each other amid the silly bickering and moments of tension, and remember why they got together in the first place – and why they’re actually so perfect together. They have vowed to carve out some quality time this summer to do that.”

This Morning fans left concerned after Dermot O’Leary hits head live on TV

This Morning fans were left concerned for presenter Dermot O’Leary as he hit his head live on air after a beauty segment took an awkward turn on Friday morning

This Morning presenter Dermot O’Leary suffered a minor injury live on air today as he presented along first time host, Olivia Attwood.

The awkward moment happened towards the end of the show, when the presenting duo attempted to try Katy Perry’s pre-show beauty ritual. Taking to Instagram, the Roar singer revealed that she plunged her face into ice water for 18 seconds.

Olivia and Dermot then went ahead and tried this trick, but unfortunately for Dermot, things went terribly wrong.

“Ready, 3, 2, 1,” he said as the duo held their breath before plunging their heads into the ice water. However, a clanking sound was heard with faint laughter in the background – as Dermot had whacked his head on the rim of the blow.

Nonetheless, the former X-Factor host carried on like a champ, and after two seconds, the pair came up for air, as Olivia was left screaming: “OH MY GOD!”

“The bowl is so small!” Dermot exclaimed, as Olivia laughed: “Did you hit your head on the rim?”

“Yes!” he exclaimed while rubbing his head. “How can we not find bigger bowls than that?! That wasn’t worth it!”

After the moment, concerned fans took to X, formerly known as Twitter, as one questioned: “Why was Dermot trying to dive into a bowl?” with a second writing: “We’re gonna need a bigger bowl…”

“#DermotOleary needs to have a check after hitting his head on the rim of the bowl on #thismorning,” a third wrote.

It was an eventful Friday morning for the This Morning team, as Olivia Attwood took to the sofa for her presenting debut. It comes after regular Friday and summer host Alison Hammond revealed that she’d be taking a break for a few weeks.

During Thursday’s episode, the Brummy presenter gave Dermot a hug as she said: “See you in September, bye!” At the start of the show, Dermot revealed he was feeling down due to Alison’s departure. “I’m sad because it’s your last day for the summer! I’m sad because I won’t see you next week,” he said.

Alison replied, “Aw, not sad; be happy for me! Be happy.” Dermot started handing Alison individual flowers from the set as she detailed her summer plans.

Olivia’s role was announced a few weeks ago as she was interviewed by Ben and Cat about her ITV show, Price of Perfection. She commented, “I’m going to be doing a couple of shows in the summer, I’m very excited to be joining you guys.

“It’s a huge honour. I’ve obviously grown up watching this show, and being part of the Daytime team with the Loose Women has been the best experience. This just feels like a very natural progression.”

  • Coronation Street’s Carla ‘makes Becky discovery’ as she vows to get Lisa answers

Coronation Street’s Carla ‘makes Becky discovery’ as she vows to get Lisa answers

Coronation Street viewers will see Carla Connor come face-to-face with baddie Logan Radcliffe next week as she’s determined to help partner Lisa Swain move on after past trauma

Carla Connor is on a mission next week on Coronation Street, with a new spoiler preview revealing she’s determined to get answers about Becky Swain.

Judging by the spoiler clip she could get to the bottom of it all, as she appears to make a discovery about Becky, the late wife of her partner Lisa Swain. Lisa has faced turmoil recently, forced to confront her past and the death, in the line of duty, of her wife Becky.

She died years earlier, and Lisa and daughter Betsy Swain have struggled to move past it. So when questions were raised earlier this year about whether Becky could have been in trouble and may have been a corrupt officer, Lisa’s heartache and the questions surrounding her death escalated.

New information about what happened to her and possible new suspects sent Lisa on a downward spiral that she’s still moving on from now. It’s gotten to a point where Lisa has to know the truth, and she’s digging away.

Betsy has also had a go at figuring out whether her mum Becky was actually on the wrong side of the law, and now it’s Carla’s turn. Seeing Lisa struggle with therapy and with people looking into Becky’s case, Carla is desperate to do something.

Coronation Street viewers will see Carla Connor come face-to-face with baddie Logan Radcliffe

So she decides to visit Logan in prison, just like Betsy did months earlier. It had been claimed that Logan and brother Matty were behind the wheel of the car that killed Becky in a hit and run.

With questions about whether there was more to her death and what Becky may have been secretly involved in, it’s clear Logan knows more than he is letting on. So when Carla asks for answers, she’s left coming to her own conclusion after a hint from the prisoner.

She asks Logan: “Are you gonna tell me about Becky or what?” Logan taunts her though, no doubt teasing he could drop her in it with Lisa. He says: “Does Swain know you’re here? Take that as a no. So you wanna know the truth about backhand Becky?”

Carla is aware of what he’s just called her, and takes this as the biggest clue yet that Becky was in fact dodgy and Logan knows all about it. So does Logan know what went on back then and what led to Becky’s death?

Carla decides to visit Logan in prison

Carla asks: “Are you saying she was dodgy?” Logan then tries to backtrack and suggests he was referring to her tennis skills, smirking which tells Carla everything she needs to know.

She adds: “Was she a bent copper or not Logan?” Scheming Logan says: “Maybe, then again maybe not.” It’s then he makes it clear he is “open to negotiation” and wants paying for his information.

Carla asks how much, but the clip ends before we hear any more about what he wants or what he knows. But could Carla get the details Lisa so desperately needs, and will the truth about Becky finally be revealed?

Jeremy Vine forced to apologise after caller’s ‘disgusting’ on-air remark to Ann Widdecombe

The Jeremy Vine Show was quickly halted on Friday after a caller made a rude and explicit comment to Ann Widdecombe during an intense debate about doctors’ strikes

Channel 5 viewers were left shocked when a caller made inappropriate remarks towards Ann Widdecombe live on the Jeremy Vine show last Friday. The host, Jeremy Vine, was joined by commentators Ann, aged 77, and James Schneider, a former Labour adviser to Jeremy Corbyn.

The panel was discussing the latest doctors’ strikes which began on July 25th. They spoke with a caller named Gregg from Tyne and Wear, who shared that he had previously worked as a junior doctor for five years before leaving the profession to earn five times more at another company.

Gregg stated: “[Being a doctor] is not about the money for me. It’s about the love of the job – it was the hardest decision I had to make. But I have just one thing I need to pose to Ann Widdecombe?”

He then asked: “Hi Ann, how are you?” To which she responded: “How’re you?” Gregg replied: “I’m good thanks for asking. I’m off to work soon but me and a few of the lads at the plant…” At this point, Jeremy interrupted, saying: “Hang on Greg. You’re not going to be rude to Ann. I can just feel the storm coming.”

Ann retorted: “He can be rude to me,” reports the Express. Gregg then made an inappropriate comment, saying: “I was just wondering if she was going to get her t**s out for the lads.”

Jeremy quickly intervened, halting the show and stating: “You see, I saw it coming. The guy’s a clown.” Ann agreed, saying: “You did see it coming.”

“I did see it coming. It’s ridiculous. I could tell,” Jeremy added. “And apologies for the language there. Let’s move on.”

Viewers were left fuming after the inappropriate comment was aired, with many expressing their outrage on social media. One user vented: “Absolutely pathetic. 12-year-old ringing up. Horrible mysogny as well. #jeremyvine.”

Another seethed: “Pathetic man, doing that to Ann. These jokes are so old – he must have the IQ of a 10-year-old to think it’s still funny #jeremyvine.”

A third chimed in: “What a twat! I’m no fan of Ann, but speaking to her like that is disgusting! #jeremyvine.” Jeremy promptly issued an apology live on the show following the incident.

Loose Women star Denise Welch is set to make a triumphant return to the BBC’s high school drama Waterloo Road where she will reprise her role as French teacher Steph Haydock

Denise Welch is going back to school – as the French teacher at Waterloo Road Comprehensive School.

The 66-year-old Loose Women star appeared on the hit BBC series from 2006 to 2010 playing lingual expert Steph Haydock. The series was pulled off the air in 2015 after the conclusion of the 10th season of the show. But it was then revived in 2023.

The creators of the show are preparing to make the 15th season of the show after the 2024 season reached a climax last month. And fans can expect to see Denise back in character and in the classrooms of the smash show.

Denise – who only appeared in the first six seasons of Waterloo Road during its original run – has acted in other soaps in the past. She played Natalie Barnes in Coronation Street from 1997 to 2000 and she has previously explained that she considers herself something of a pioneer in the performing arts as she’s been able to work both as an actress and a lunchtime talk show star.

Of her return to Waterloo Road, a source told The Sun: “Waterloo Road fans love a comeback, particularly when it is someone of Denise’s calibre. The character is certainly one which will live long in the memory of devotees, and it’s an absolute no brainer to have her return.” The Mirror has contacted representatives of Denise and the BBC for comment.

Denise previously told OX Magazine that she hated that people wouldn’t take her seriously as an actress because her career as a Loose Women star had overshadowed her acting. She said: “It’s very difficult in this country to be taken seriously in more than one genre; I’ve tried to cross those boundaries over. I remember Eamonn Holmes saying, ‘I can’t think of another person that’s doing an acting job and a presenting job on telly at the same time.’ That stuck with me, I felt there was a little breakthrough there.”

She also explained that she has been landing bigger parts since she entered her 50s – after being dismissed for roles in her youth. She said: “[I prefer roles] where you come on in Act Two as the maid and steal the show. That’s how I always was in my younger days; I always wanted to play the character roles I was too young for. So yes, there is that.”

Denise has been a panellist on Loose Women for decades – but previously admitted she will quit the minute she finds the show too stressful to deal with. She told Bella magazine last year: “In the 21 years I’ve done this show, I have never, ever. ever had an actual argument with anybody on that show. I can go hammer and tongs with them on set, but nothing afterwards, if it was a toxic environment, I wouldn’t work there. I don’t need to. I’m 65, I don’t need the stress…. I’d be out like a shot if I felt anxiety about going into a job,” and then insisting that the workplace – which has been rocked by rumours of backstage bitching in the past – is “very supportive”

Grace Eleanor Keeling, better known as GK Barry, is preparing to take on the I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here challenge. We take a look at how she became a star

I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here has been packed with drama over the years and now campmate GK Barry has managed to cause a stir before setting foot in the jungle.

The social media star runs a hit podcast called Saving Grace, where she interviews big name celebrities including Coleen Nolan and Alan Carr.

But when she recently interviewed OnlyFans star Bonnie Blue, who notoriously toured UK universities in a bid to sleep with 100 students during Freshers Week, there was a mighty backlash. Bonnie, 25, talked about wanting to bed “barely legal” 18 and 19 year olds and many critics felt she shouldn’t have been given a platform to do so.

The episiode has since been deleted amid rumours ITV was in “crisis talks” about GK’s stint Down Under. But yesterday, she was seen arriving in Australia, telling reporters she’d miss the wine and the pubs back home.

As the influencer prepares to enter the jungle alongside Coleen Rooney and McFly star Danny Jones, we take a closer look at her career and controversies…

GK Barry’s real name is Grace Eleanor Keeling and she rose to fame during the Covid-19 pandemic when she shared vlogs of her days during lockdown on TikTok and Instagram while studying at Nottingham Trent University. She intended on staying low key but within a year, she had reached the golden number of one million TikTok followers.

With her career soaring, Grace completed her degree in film studies and began a master’s in digital marketing. She worked on the set of BBC series Doctors and Netflix film Hood while at university and created content for the ShawMind charity, which promotes mental health awareness.

By 2022 the influencer had created Saving Grace, her much-loved podcast which invites celebrities and influencers to discuss life and share embarrassing stories. Alison Hammond, Rob Beckett and US star Madison Beer are among her interviewees.

But Bonnie Blue may be a step too far, as the sex worker’s episode sparked fury among some fans. “Her audience is 13-20 year old girls,” said one. “Young and impressionable. This is not the message young girls should be hearing,” another added.

Another listened slammed the episode as “sickening”. “What was said is disturbing and has nowt to do with feminism. The glorification of [sex work] has put girls and young women in serious danger.”

Grace has faced controversy before – a regular on the Loose Women panel, her joke about loving Loose Women star Frankie Bridge’s band The Saturdays didn’t go down well. “I didn’t get any GSCEs at school but I thought: ‘That’s OK, I’ll be Frankie!’,” she said, to which the popstar, 35, responded: “That felt like a backhanded compliment!”

Grace later said the pair were “completely fine”, insisting: “I love The Saturdays so I would never fall out with Frankie Bridge.”

Today, the influencer has a whopping 4.5 million followers combined on social platforms – is it enough for her to become Queen of the Jungle? Time will tell.
