Just three years ago, Jamie, 50, former Liverpool star midfielder, remarried in October 2021 and by the following month, welcomed his son Raphael with model wife Frida Andersson. This naturally came as another painful moment for Louise who had been part of his life for over two decades, reports OK!. Former Eternal songstress Louise made it clear in the past she was content being single for her sons’ stability, after her marriage with Jamie ended. She once revealed, “I’ve felt this as a mum… to say this in the most sort of respectful way, my boys’ lives changed dramatically [when she and Jamie split] and then changed again when Jamie got married and had a family. Their life changed and I felt like I needed to be their one staple.”

However, last year saw a change of heart for Louise who fell for Drew Michael, the ex-army man, and they’ve been inseparable ever since – going Instagram official in November after stepping out together in September 2023. Fresh from a romantic Greek getaway in Kefalonia and flaunting their love at Glastonbury, pals are now buzzing that Louise could be walking down the aisle once more. An insider dished, “Marriage could definitely be on the cards again for Louise – her new relationship is so different to any other she’s been in,” adding, “Drew is very supportive of everything she does. We could be hearing wedding bells very soon.”

The source revealed: “She loves having her fashion range with Peacocks, and is just having fun. When she was married to a footballer, her life revolved around going to games and his career. At times, hers was forced to take a back seat but now she is a point where she can put herself first.”

Louise also took to Instagram recently to express her immense pride after her youngest son Beau, 16, signed for Brentford FC, emulating his father’s path. “Beyond proud of my Beau Beau @beau_redknapp the Hard work pays off! ” she penned. “Congratulations on signing to @brentfordfc I love you so much xxx.”

Her elder son, Charley, crossed the Atlantic to America at the age of 20, and Louise didn’t hold back her pride on Instagram, stating: “I’m beyond proud of you Chaz and everything you are achieving. My partner in crime from day one.” She continued: “I’m so happy to see you following your dreams, getting out there and experiencing new things.”

David Beckham has finally addressed the conflict between Israel and Palestine after months of remaining silent. The football icon, 50, is an ambassador for UNICEF, who last year called for a ceasefire, the release of Israeli hostages and launched an appeal for the children of Gaza.

He failed to share a post from UNICEF UK to his millions of followers about their flagship appeal in 2024. David was among the almost half of the organisation’s high profile supporters who hadn’t shared a post.

In March this year, the England sports star re-shared a post from UNICEF for the first time. Now, David has spoke out again after months of silence by sharing another graphic from the organisation.

In their post that David shared and liked, UNICEF said: “UNICEF welcomes the announcement by Israel to implement most urgently needed humanitarian pauses to increase access to deliver aid into and across Gaza.

“Since the collapse of the ceasefire in March, children have been trapped in a nightmare and deprived of the basics to survive. They are hungry, traumatized and have no safe place to go. The entire population of over 2 million people in Gaza is severely food insecure. One out of every three people has not eaten for days and 80 per cent of all reported deaths by starvation are children.

“This is an opportunity to begin to reverse this catastrophe and save lives.” It continued: “UNICEF has never stopped delivering. But we can do a lot more if additional designated humanitarian corridors are created to facilitate the movement of our convoys – as well as commercial trucks, which are essential. In July alone, UNICEF has managed to deliver 147 trucks inside Gaza with nutrition supplies, including baby food, milk and high-energy biscuits.

“We are ready to increase this number and ensure more life-saving aid enters Gaza at the required scale and bring hope to an exhausted population.

“UNICEF continues to call for a ceasefire, the unfettered access of humanitarian aid across Gaza, the protection of children, and the release of all hostages so they can return home to their loved ones.”

On his own post, David tagged UNICEF but added no further comment to his 88.3million followers. His previous silence prompted backlash over how he responded different to Gaza and Ukraine.

He handed over control of his Instagram account to a Ukrainian doctor working in the city of Kharkiv in March 2022, to highlight how Russia’s invasion was impacting the country’s pregnant women and children.

The same month, the football legend and his wife Victoria Beckham donated £1 million to a UNICEF appeal to support Ukrainian children affected by the devastating conflict.

David, who was a Qatar 2022 World Cup ambassador, has been accused of being less explicit regarding where he stands when it comes to the plight of Palestinian people.

Other celebrities who remained silent about UNICEF’s Protect Children in the Gaza crisis appeal included Robbie Williams, Tom Hiddleston, Cat Deeley, Charley Boorman, Claudia Schiffer, David Harewood, Lord David Puttnam, Emma Bunton, James Nesbitt, Jessie Ware and Martin Bell.

“Two months ago Alison had lost 13st, and now friends think it’s more like 14st. She looks even smaller. Alison’s never felt happier. While Alison, who is a proud mum to son, Aiden, 20, has not addressed the wedding rumours directly, she did say she “wouldn’t say no” to marrying David.

The Bake Off star, who had a gastric band fitted in 2007, but had it removed three years later because her body rejected it, revealed in May that she had hired a personal trainer.

Alison also said she doesn’t deny myself anything, explaining: “I eat everything, but in moderation”.

Alison tends to keep her relationship private and doesn’t usually features David on her Instagram page. However, in April 2024 she went public with the masseuse by posting a series of pictures online with him.

David Beckham looked in good spirits on the high seas as he hugged his daughter and wife during a trip to St Tropez. The 50-year-old sporting legend joined wife Victoria, 51, and daughter Harper Seven, 14, on the deck of a luxury yacht.

The sport star looked casual in a sand coloured cap and dark t-shirt – and with a smile stretched across his face. Victoria pouted alongside her husband with her hair loose around her shoulders.

While teenage daughter Harper looked pretty in a pink as she wrapped up in a casual hooded top. The trio were spied on the deck of the boat lined up for a photograph together.

The famous family are known for heading to the south of France to enjoy a summer break year after year. And they were joined by second son, Romeo, 22 – who reportedly spent the afternoon zipping around the sea on a jet ski.

Father, daughter and wife posed and smiled for the cameras as their boat – worth a reported £16 million – bobbed gently on the Mediterranean waters. The Daily Mail shared the sun-soaked snaps which made the family look like they had not a care in the world while enjoying the picturesque French weather.

The calm image is in contrast to the stormy headlines that have haunted the Beckham family in recent months. A feud is said to have erupted between the family and eldest son Brookyln – who is married to American Billionaire heiress Nicola Peltz.

Fans became concerned for the Beckhams after they noticed Brooklyn and his wife snubbed David during his 50th birthday celebrations in May. In subsequent months, there have been reports that Brooklyn and Nicola have clashed with his younger brothers – while other reports have suggested the family have been at odds since Nicola and her husband got married in 2022.

There have also been shady comments and social media quips that have left fans reading into the smallest details for evidence of a feud.

The duo were spotted heading out for dinner in St Tropez and both cut casual appearances. Romeo was pictured wearing a red baseball cap, teamed with a round neck white sweater.

Brooklyn Beckham’s fallout with his famous mum and dad shows no signs of slowing down as he appears to reap the benefits of his billionaire father-in-law. The hot sauce founder, 26, has been locked in a family fallout with David and Victoria Beckham as he continued to stand with his wife Nicola Peltz.

Things haven’t been rosy between the Beckhams since Brooklyn and Nicola skipped David’s 50th birthday celebrations in May. Brooklyn went on to issue a series of snubs when it came to Father’s Day and David’s long awaited knighthood achievment.

The fallout seems to have spilled down the family as both Brooklyn’s younger brothers Romeo and Cruz have unfollowed him on social media. Brooklyn appears to be surrounding himself with his in-laws amid the drama and has even headed on holiday with them.

He sailed into Saint-Tropez on a £85million, 80 metre yacht called Project X as he lapped up the luxury getaway. It had been rented by Nicola’s parents, Nelson and Claudia Peltz, and set them back a staggering £1.2million a week.

Brooklyn avoided a run in with his parents as they arrived in the same French dock just two days later – which he reportedly was unaware of. They turned up on a £16million, 40 metre vessel named Seven.

“Brooklyn’s yacht dwarfs the one owned by David and Victoria. It’s a financial flex,” a source told the Sun. “Their relationship is beyond soured now but Brooklyn has really landed on his feet.

“Nicola and her parents, Nelson and Claudia, are his family now. And he’s clearly enjoying the spoils.” David and Victoria, who own their yacht that’s half the size of Brooklyn’s in-laws rented boat, are in Saint-Tropez with their sons Romeo and Cruz as well as daughter Harper.

However, a source told the Mirror that Brooklyn was unaware that David and Victoria were arriving in Saint-Tropez two days later. They added the couple had a lovely time and enjoyed the hospitality provided by Nelson.

Brooklyn, meanwhile, has been keen to share snaps of his own trip as he drank a bottle of beer next to Nelson. One moment showed Brooklyn leaning towards Nelson, who had his arm around his son-in-law, whilst another showed the in-laws embraced in a hug by a table.

Brooklyn has attracted attention over spending time with his in-laws lately amid claims he “doesn’t really feel like he fits into” his own family. A source told the Mirror that he’s also grown “so close” to Nicola’s family.

They said: “He just doesn’t feel his family have treated Nicola well and now that he’s grown so close to her family in the States, he doesn’t really feel like he fits into the Beckham family right now.”

Amid rumours of tension between Brooklyn and his parents, he is said to have met up with godfather Sir Elton John, who tried to act as “peacemaker”. He is said to have caught up with Brooklyn and Nicola over lunch in Cannes.

Elton is said to “adore” Brooklyn and have a “laugh” with Nicola, who he believes has a “great” sense of humour. A source told the Sun: “[Elton’s] utterly neutral in this row. Elton and David think the situation is terribly sad, and has gently suggested to all involved that life is short – and to patch things up.” The source said that the group had a “really fun long lunch” despite the tough conversation.

John Torode and Celebrity MasterChef winner Lisa Faulkner tied the knot in 2019 and are set to star in an ITV series together later this year

John Torode’s wife Lisa Faulkner has broken her online silence in the wake of her husband’s sacking from MasterChef. It was announced that Torode’s contract on the BBC series would not be renewed following a historic allegation of racism.

In a video shared on her Instagram Stories this evening, the actress told fans: “Hi there, I just wanted to check in and say hello. I’m here and just thank you for all your lovely comments because they really, really mean a lot. So thank you.”

Faulkner, 53, tied the knot with Torode in 2019. It is the second marriage for both stars, with the former Holby City actress previously with Chris Coghill, known for his role as Tony King in ‘EastEnders’, with whom she shares an adopted daughter named Billie.

Torode’s former spouse is a woman named Jessica, and together they share two children. The former MasterChef star, 59, is also a father to two older children from a previous relationship.

Faulkner and Torode first crossed paths when Lisa competed on Celebrity MasterChef’ in 2010, striking up a solid friendship that eventually blossomed into romance. The pair clicked right away, maintaining their friendship post-filming, but Lisa maintains there was no initial romantic spark.

“He was a judge on a show I loved and I was petrified of him.He was brilliant and gave us all tips so you didn’t want to let him down,” she recalled.

“All I could think was, ‘That sauce hasn’t worked’. I didn’t see anything but food for three months. After I won, we did The Good Food Show and stuff. John and I always got on, but I never thought about me and him.”

Torode’s contract on MasterChef will not be renewed, the BBC and production company Banijay UK confirmed. Australian-born Torode, 59, started presenting MasterChef alongside Gregg Wallace in 2005.

Torode confirmed he was the subject of an allegation of using racist language that was upheld as part of a review carried out by law firm Lewis Silkin into the alleged behaviour of his co-presenter Wallace.

A statement from Banijay UK said: “In response to John Torode’s statement, it is important to stress that Banijay UK takes this matter incredibly seriously. The legal team at Lewis Silkin that investigated the allegations relating to Gregg Wallace also substantiated an accusation of highly offensive racist language against John Torode which occurred in 2018.

“This matter has been formally discussed with John Torode by Banijay UK, and whilst we note that John says he does not recall the incident, Lewis Silkin have upheld the very serious complaint. Banijay UK and the BBC are agreed that we will not renew his contract on MasterChef.”

The Lewis Silkin report, commissioned by Banijay UK, found 45 out of 83 allegations against Wallace were substantiated, alongside two standalone allegations made against other people, including one for using racist language.

Torode confirmed he was the person alleged to have used racist language but said he had “no recollection of the incident” and was “shocked and saddened” by the allegation.

A BBC spokesperson said: “John Torode has identified himself as having an upheld allegation of using racist language against him. This allegation – which involves an extremely offensive racist term being used in the workplace- was investigated and substantiated by the independent investigation led by the law firm, Lewis Silkin. John Torode denies the allegation.

“He has stated he has no recollection of the alleged incident and does not believe that it happened. He also says that any racial language is wholly unacceptable in any environment

“The BBC takes this upheld finding extremely seriously. We will not tolerate racist language of any kind and, as we have already said, we told Banijay UK, the makers of MasterChef, that action must be taken. John Torode’s contract on MasterChef will not be renewed.”

Despite Torode’s MasterChef axe, he has still appeared on screens with Lisa for their own TV show. A source close to ITV confirmed to the Mirror their schedules for John and Lisa’s Weekend Kitchen ‘remain unchanged’ despite John’s sacking from MasterChef.

There’s big moments ahead on Emmerdale next week, and some spoilers fans will be excited about.

Robron fans will see former couple Robert Sugden and Aaron Dingle grow closer again as they clear the air after past turmoil. Vanity fans will see more scenes for Charity Dingle and her ex Vanessa Woodfield, as the former confides in her friend as “disaster” strikes.

There’s concern amid a surrogacy plot, while a teen is clearly hiding something in a big secret. A villain takes action, another villager harbouring their true feelings is left torn and an exit is teased for one resident who is temporarily departing the ITV soap soon.

Let’s kick things off with Robron, as Robert is struggling to cope and considers leaving the village for good. It’s Robert’s sibling John Sugden, who happens to be Aaron’s new husband, who persuades Aaron to go easy on his ex.

There’s an uncomfortable encounter at the shop, as John and Robert seem to clash again – or perhaps this time it’s Aaron and Robert. Either way, John leaves and Robert attempts to clear the air with Aaron over a coffee.

It’s then that Robert hints he may be leaving and Aaron is surprised, while it’s also clear he doesn’t want that to happen. He does his best to reassure Robert and tries to get him to stick around.

Telling him he’s valued, he gives Robert hope as he tries to talk him round – but is Robert hoping for a reconciliation once more? Later on in the week it seems there’s more trouble ahead, when Moira Dingle confronts him about her land that she recently sold to him.

So has Moira uncovered the betrayal about Robert plotting to sell to Kim before he later changed his mind? It’s Robert’s sister Victoria Sugden who is left suspicious though, when Robert suggests they farm Annie’s field together.

What will she say, and will Robert stick around? Elsewhere, Charity Dingle fears the worst when she suffers a fall amid her offering to be a surrogate to her granddaughter Sarah Sugden.

In upcoming episodes a procedure goes well at the fertility clinic, but next week Charity falls in the woods. She tries to convince herself that everything will be fine, and when Sarah comes home she doesn’t tell her about the fall.

But later as the family gather for an engagement party for Sarah and her partner Jacob Gallagher, Charity sneaks off and rushes to the toilet. As her ex Vanessa spots her outside, a concerned Charity reveals to her that she’s been bleeding.

Fearing the worst after the procedure, will Charity tell Sarah what’s happened? We could be headed for an exit next week too as Steph’s departure storyline may have been teased.

Actress Georgia Jay is currently on maternity leave, and so will be having a break from filming. Next week Steph and Ross Barton give their relationship another go, after some encouragement from their loved ones.

As they get closer, they officially reunite and Ross denies being with anyone else since they broke up – hiding the fact he slept with Manpreet Sharma. But when Manpreet is probed about her love life by Steph’s mother Ruby later in the week, will she find out about the fling?

Also next week, Dylan is in a bad way a week on from being stabbed with a pitchfork at Moira’s farm. His pal April Windsor finds him in need of urgent medical attention and sneaks him into the vet surgery.

Paddy Kirk stumbles across then though who patches Dylan up before offering him a room for the night. Soon villain Ray is catching up with Dylan as more about their connection is revealed onscreen.

Dylan reveals a hidden bag of drugs from his backpack, while ignoring Ray’s messages. Dylan is soon sneaking off for drug drop-offs, while back in the village some of the residents realise Dylan was the one intruding at the farm.

When Ray eventually tracks down Dylan, Dylan turns down a job leading to the villain claiming to be cool with it – but we soon see him watching Dylan and April from a far. So what does he have planned?

Finally next week, Vinny Dingle is struggling after recently trying to kiss his pal Kammy amid his wedding plans with fiancée Gabby Thomas. As he continues to question his sexuality and his true self, he does his best to bury his doubts.

Aaron mistakes his pal’s woes though for wedding doubts, so Vinny admits he tried to kiss someone else. Aaron urges him not to tell Gabby but Vinny is conflicted, and soon looks for answers about his sexuality – but will he find what he is looking for?

New spoilers for EastEnders have teased worrying twists and turns ahead for multiple characters.

There’s a violent showdown that leads to one favourite being rushed to hospital. One vile character is soon targeting others with his grim behaviour, while another teen finds himself in big trouble.

There’s a big decision to be made for one resident of Walford, while one married character is warned against his flirty behaviour with another man. One character, soon returning to the show, makes contact with their family, and two love rivals look set to unite.

Let’s kick things off with more drama ahead for troubled teen Oscar Branning, and it leaves one Albert Square legend in serious danger. Patrick Trueman fends off Oscar who has broken into his home, unaware he is the culprit.

Oscar is being threatened by thug Mike who he grassed up to the police. As things escalate, Mike returns and demands £5,000 in return for the Branning family’s safety.

Oscar initially tries to lure Ian Beale into a business deal to find the extra cash, but Ian refuses. Lauren Branning soon finds out what her brother has been up to, leaving Oscar seeking other means of getting the funds.

Oscar breaks into Patrick’s home to steal his bet winnings. He’s caught in the act though, leading to Oscar abruptly pushing Patrick to flee. But Patrick ends up falling to the ground, leaving him badly injured.

Patrick is left unconscious as the horror unfolds, with his partner Yolande Trueman unaware of what’s happening amid her row with her fiancé. Having called off the wedding over his betting, will she regret this when she realises Patrick is in a bad way?

With Patrick motionless on the ground, Oscar decides to leave him only for Howie Danes to return home and realise what’s happened. Oscar makes a run for it and Howie sees him, while he doesn’t see his face so is unaware it’s Oscar.

Yolande is inconsolable as she heads home to the horror unfolding, and soon Patrick is rushed to hospital. His family wait for news and the police arrive to take a witness statement from Howie, but will he be okay?

Lauren meanwhile is suspicious of Oscar’s behaviour, and his sudden concern for Patrick. He tries to flee Walford only for her to stop him in his tracks, confronting him with the stolen money.

He begs his sister to let him flee as she riles at him for his actions. But will Oscar be exposed? Elsewhere, Avani Nandra-Hart is still torn over her pregnancy amid her grandmother Suki Panesar’s plan to help raise the baby with her wife Eve Unwin.

Eve is still unconvinced by the plan next week and is desperate to hear from Avani what she wants, without Suki’s involvement. Eve supports the teenager at her 12-week scan, and after she and Avani lie to the family when Priya finds a receipt from the hospital in Avani’s jacket – but will the pregnancy be rumbled?

The baby’s father Joel Marshall, who has no idea about the baby, is back to his vile ways next week. Ross Marshall takes son Joel and his pal Tommy Moon to work at the timber yard but soon grows concerned for the boys when he overhears some of the language from other workers on the site.

That’s the least of his issues though, as Ross pales to receive a call from Joel’s mum. She informs him that she is getting remarried, and Ross faces having to tell Joel.

As Joel slips out to process the news, he’s soon stealing drink from the pub with Tommy only to be caught. As Joel’s stepmother Vicki Fowler and Tommy’s parents Kat and Alfie rage at the boys for their behaviour, everyone is shocked by what Joel does next.

Joel lashes out with derogatory language towards Kat leaving them all horrified, and soon he’s being lectured by Ross and Vicki. A moment later on that sees Ross trying to bond with his troubled son leaves him sickened though, as he makes a worrying discovery on Joel’s laptop and destroys the device.

He’s cold towards his son in the fallout, and Vicki is later shocked to discover the real reason why Ross broke his laptop. She tells Ross to take action against Joel before his behaviour gets out of hand.

It leads to Ross sharing a heart-to-heart with Harvey in the café and the former is given food for thought. When Joel apologises to Kat, she allows him to hang out with Tommy. But it’s not long before Joel is showing his true colours again when Vicki and Stacey Slater bond over parenting and men.

Finally next week, Elaine Peacock is struggling without the pub and after a heart-to-heart with Yolande, she and love rival Cindy Beale join forces at The Albert. Cindy later offers Elaine the job of co-manager, so could there be a thawing between them?

Callum Highway’s flirting with Johnny Carter leads to him being warned by Jay brown, amid a call from his imprisoned husband Ben Mitchell. With Ben set to return to the show, will it all end in tears?

Mild mannered presenter Michael Aspel is now 92 but caused uproar in his younger presenting days

Veteran broadcaster Michael Aspel has revealed how one of his TV shows was banned by the BBC and the Government.

The mild-mannered presenter – who found fame hosting Ask Aspel and This Is Your Life – was invited to front a documentary about the horrors of nuclear war but it was deemed too graphic and realistic. The 92-year-old star now admits: “I had no idea about the uproar that was to follow.” Aspel was invited to be part of a mini-film called The War Game in 1965 to mark the 20 ^th anniversary of the American nuclear bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki in Japan. Director Peter Watkins wanted to show Brits the realities of what could happen if the same happened here.

The show used actors to play the victims of an atomic attack and it gave gory detailed descriptions of what would happen to their bodies before death. Aspel was asked to narrate the project which would air on the BBC and he happily agreed.

He recalls in a new BBC 4 documentary: “Now I had done a few of those before but little did I know the furore this particular film would cause.

“It was made to reflect what had happened in Hiroshima and Peter wanted to see what life might have been like in this country if we had been the victims of an atom bomb.

“Although newsreaders used to do odd jobs away from the BBC with medical films and stuff like that, I was particularly interested why the director and writer of this film would want me to be the narrator.

“And I could only suppose, because being a newsreader and perhaps being familiar to listeners as well as to viewers in that role, it would suit his film very well.

“The idea was to give the film authenticity. The director wanted to present a very ordinary community of people in this country with all the foibles of the time such as casual racism.

“The film was made to be as realistic as possible so the viewer would believe what they wee watching it as though it was a Government warning.”

However, the programme was pulled from broadcast. The BBC claims it was their decision. It had given some members of Harold Wilson’s Government a copy of the violent and graphic documentary in advance as it feared it might be seen as an advertisement for nuclear disarmament with a pacifist CND agenda. Even the ex-BBC head of documentaries – the late Huw Weldon – branded it ‘a political hot potato’.

The BBC maintains it was told it had to make the decision over whether to broadcast the show itself. And the director general at the time – Hugh Carleton Greene – shelved the show saying it was ‘so shocking and upsetting’ that he could never forgive himself if someone ‘threw themselves under a bus’ because of it.

However Aspel reveals another side to the story. He claims Peter Watkins felt ‘betrayed’ by this decision and always believed it was really The Government who banned his documentary.

The TV host – who also presented Aspel and Company and Give Us A Clue and Crackerjack – adds: “He was always sure it was Government interference that stopped the film.”

And archive footage is shown from a 1998 interview with the late Labour MP and former postmaster general Tony Benn. He admits: “Frank Soskice, who was the home secretary, ordered me to ban the programme… because it was argued this would lead to panic.

“I was only his master’s voice and had nothing to do with it (the decision) so I had to send a directive to Carleton Greene saying ‘You must not broadcast it’. I greatly regret it. I never believe in censorship.”

It took another 20 years for the film to see the light of day. The War Game was finally broadcast on the BBC to mark the 40 ^th anniversary of the bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Ironically it even won an Oscar for best documentary feature.

Aspel now says: “It is now 80 years since the bombings in Japan and 60 years since I sat in that little recording studio with no idea of the uproar that was to follow.”

Good Morning Britain’s Ed Balls was forced to awkwardly backtrack after jokingly calling his co-star Charlotte Hawkins “podgy” in a throwback clip of the TV presenter

Ed Balls has come under fire from Good Morning Britain viewers this morning after calling his co-star Charlotte Hawkins “podgy” in her first This Morning appearance. During Tuesday’s show, GMB shared a throwback clip of Charlotte making her first This Morning cameo as a model back in 1996.

“I think you’ve aged beautifully,” he said. “I would say you look younger now than then, back then you looked a bit more podgy.” An outraged Charlotte responded: “Podgy? We’ll have words after this.” Former I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! star Melvin Odoom had been on the show with his showbiz roundup and the presenters had been discussing Mariah Carey’s tips on how she avoids ageing.

And immediately after Ed had made the comment, Melvin jumped in to repeatedly tell Ed to ‘move on’ from the situation, adding: “I’m trying to help you, my brother.” Just before sending the programme to an advert break, Charlotte told viewers: “I’ll have a word with Ed. In the meantime, here’s Laura with the weather.”

But fans of ITV’s early news programme were quick to have their say about the savage comment, and flooded social media with their reaction. One said: “He’ll be up in front of the producers for that quip,” whilst another claimed: “Ed Balls is so cringy and awkward around women.”

A third viewer was equally shocked at Ed’s remark and tried to remind the former politician of the ‘irony’ within the situation as they wrote: “Did Ed really just say Charlotte looked fat when she was younger? Has he looked in the mirror lately? He’s so rude!”

In May this year, former Strictly Come Dancing star Charlotte, who previously fronted Sunrise alongside Eamonn Holmes, celebrated her milestone 50th birthday and fans were shocked upon learning her real age. During a Good Morning Britain broadcast, then-hosts Adil Ray and Kate Garraway stopped everything for a special bulletin. Kate excitedly announced: “Now, we do have some major breaking news about someone in this very studio.”

As she showered praise on her colleague, viewers were treated to nostalgic photos of Charlotte’s youth, including images of her with a teddy bear and beaming on horseback, with an amused Charlotte exclaiming: “Where did you get these from?!” Humorously pointing out her family’s ‘betrayal’, Kate chuckled at how they had sent in the snaps.

But it was an old video from early in Charlotte’s career that really caught Adil off-guard, leading him to jest: “What on earth? ! You look older there! You look 63!”.

Charlotte couldn’t help but laugh, confessing her attempts to look more ‘mature’ back then. The festive mood continued as Laura Tobin rolled in with a birthday cake trolley, right before Adil handed over a beautiful bouquet of flowers, reports Bristol Live.

As the celebrations drew to a close, Charlotte shared that her daughter keeps reminding her of turning half a century. Kate exclaimed: “Happy Birthday, Charlotte. I still can’t quite believe she’s 50. I think it’s a lie.”

Viewers rapidly flocked to Twitter to echo Kate’s astonishment, with many finding it hard to grasp that Charlotte is 50. One viewer commented: “Happy birthday Charlotte, you can see what a beautiful person you are inside and out 50? I will take some of what you are having.”

Another chimed in with: “Doesn’t look anywhere near 50,” and a third person gushed: “Happy 50th Birthday, Charlotte [sic] Are you sure? You look amazing. Enjoy your day.”
