  • ‘Real reason’ Vanessa Feltz won’t comment on Ben Ofoedu’s wedding and his new wife’s ‘attack’

‘Real reason’ Vanessa Feltz won’t comment on Ben Ofoedu’s wedding and his new wife’s ‘attack’

    Vanessa’s not happy apparently

The ‘real’ reason Vanessa Feltz is not planning to comment on ex Ben Ofoedu’s wedding has been ‘revealed’.

Singer Ben, 53, tied the knot this month to his wife, 29-year-old Vanessa Brown, who he calls “Vanessa 2.0”.

Vanessa – who ended things with Ben in 2023 after 17 years due to his cheating – has remained tight-lipped on Ben’s nuptials.

But now, it’s been reported that there is a certain reason why Vanessa is yet to address Ben’s wedding.

Ben Ofoedu’s ‘swipe’ at Vanessa Feltz on his wedding day

Ben’s reported £100k wedding to Vanessa Brown – an aesthetics expert – took place in Cumbria earlier this month.

He first met Vanessa, who is 23 years his junior, last year. And in February, after a month of dating, Ben and Vanessa got engaged in New York City.

However, amid his exciting wedding news, Ben took a brutal swipe at ex Vanessa – whom he was engaged to for years. Referencing his relationship with Vanessa he told MailOnline: “I wasted 17 years of my life.”

Stop talking about it, it’s so tragic!

Meanwhile, new bride Vanessa also hit out at Vanessa. She told the publication: “To be honest I don’t care whatsoever, I couldn’t care less about her. She is his ex – I have exes – and they’re in the past.”

Vanessa then said: “Why would you care? Enjoy your retirement, your family and just chill. Stop talking about it, it’s so tragic!”

‘Real reason’ Vanessa hasn’t commented on Ben’s wedding

Since then, Vanessa has remained silent on Ben’s wedding. But according to sources, Vanessa is yet to address it due to her ‘fury’ over him still speaking about her – despite their split.

“The split was obviously not exactly amicable, but never did Vanessa think that Ben would still be going on about her now. To her it’s pretty obvious that every time he speaks of her it raises his profile, and she simply won’t play ball. She knows what his game is and she just wishes he could move on too,” an insider told MailOnline.

    Vanessa’s ‘new nickname’

The insider added: “Vanessa absolutely hates it when Ben uses her in any way to increase his own publicity. She takes the view that he might not stop – but she certainly won’t be party to any of it.”

Meanwhile, the source also claimed that Ben’s pals have come up with a nickname for Vanessa: ‘1.0′ – the original Vanessa.

“It all feels like Vanessa is the ‘old’ one. It’s a bit mean. Of course, Ofoedu clearly doesn’t like his ex, but for his friends to say that isn’t very nice. You wonder if – and when – this fallout is ever going to end,” they said.

ED! has contacted Vanessa’s representatives for comment.

  • Loose Women’s Coleen Nolan ‘terrified’ she’ll be out of job as she addresses TV future

Loose Women’s Coleen Nolan ‘terrified’ she’ll be out of job as she addresses TV future

Coleen Nolan told the ITV Loose Women panel that she was absolutely “terrified” about her future television as they delved into a discussion about new advancements in the industry

Coleen Nolan is “terrified” that her Loose Women career could be hanging in the balance.

The 59-year-old had been chatting to Monday’s (October 28) panel members, including, Ruth Langsford, GK Barry and Myleene Klass about technology – specifically AI taking over “everyone’s jobs” and how frightened she was of the future.

It was host Ruth, who opened the chat, explaining that the late Michael Parkinson, who died in 2023, would be brought back to life using AI advancements so that he could conduct a series of new interviews with celebrities.

Although Ruth and Coleen were excited to see Michael back on-screens again, The Nolans singer expressed her “terror” over new technologies and what it could mean for the industry.

She said: “AI frightening the life out of me, all very well and we’re all excited, until nobody has a job anymore because AI is doing all of it.”

“It’s already happening in supermarkets where you can now self-serve, I know that’s not AI but they’re still getting rid of staff because we can do it all ourselves.”

“Expressing further angst later in the same discussion, Coleen told Ruth: “It’s not your job, wait until four AIs are sitting here.”

As Loose Women marked it’s 25th anniversary recently, with Coleen joining the team just one year later, the hitmaker spoke about the possibility of stepping down from her post after over two decades with the programme.

But fans can be rest assured that Coleen has zero plans to step away from the show, describing the ITV phenomenon as being her “constant” in her life for so long.

Coleen was worried they’d all be replaced by AI

Glancing back at her on-screen career, she confessed: “I’ll be with Loose Women as long as they want me, or as long as it is on air, because I love it and I’d really miss it. It’s kind of been the constant thing in my life for 24 years.”

Speaking to Woman’s Own, she went on to explain why the role means so much to her: “More than anything else, Loose Women has been the constant – so why would I want to give that up?”

Coleen has suffered a number of personal tragedies over the years and has leaned on her co-stars while using the platform to share those experiences with ITV viewers. From divorce, raising children and the going through the grieving process after losing her sister Bernie to cancer, she’s shared it all.

More recently, Coleen updated on her sister Linda, who is currently battling breast cancer. She told the panel: “Linda doesn’t want to know how long she’s got because it’s like counting down the days for how long she’d got left.

“This way, she’s living every day like it might be her last,” a heartbroken Coleen shared after they’d discussed the tragic news that Olympian Sir Chris Hoy had been diagnosed with terminal cancer.

Ruth Langsford opens up on ‘difficult conversation’ with son Jack after she ‘lost her rag’

Loose Women’s Ruth Langsford shared with her co-star’s that she needed to have “difficult conversations” with her son Jack after she’d “lost it” and wanted to explain the situation

Ruth Langsford opened up on having a “difficult conversation” with her son Jack.

The 58-year-old television favourite had been chatting to her Loose Women co-stars including Coleen Nolan, GK Barry and Myleene Klass about the burden on women throughout life that included taking contraception, periods, having babies and then the menopause.

Former HearSay star Mylene, said men needed to step-up when it came to supporting women with contraception as she admitted her partner had a vasectomy. Other panel members had noticed that Generation Z had been doing a much better job at raising their sons to be more knowledgeable.

Coleen even noted that her daughter Ciara Fensome had sent her boyfriend to the shop to purchase sanitary products, leaving the TV star dumbfounded – as she would have never been able to ask a former flame herself.

Speaking about how times had changed and educating her own son on the menopause, Ruth shared: “I always say as a mother of a son it is our responsibility to talk to young men about contraception, about women’s health, about periods and about the menopause.”

She explained: “I had to have a chat with Jack about the menopause because I lost my rag one day with him, it was off the scale. I had to then explain to him ‘let me tell you about something called the menopause, it’s why mummy’s a bit cross today’.”

All of her co-stars nodded in agreement as they delved into education in schools not being quite up to par. GK Barry, the youngest of the clan explained sex education hadn’t been a great help when she was at school.

She recalled trying to “put a condom on a banana” noting that education hadn’t changed in schools in years.

Meanwhile, away from screens, Ruth has been going through a very public marriage breakdown to her ex-husband Eamonn Holmes

The much-loved TV duo, Eamonn and Ruth left fans totally shocked after they announced they were ending their 14-year marriage earlier this year.

The former This Morning stars who share son Jack, both 64, confirmed they were parting ways in a joint statement, which read: “Ruth Langsford and Eamonn Holmes have confirmed their marriage is over and they are in the process of divorcing.”

Since their announcement, GB News star Eamonn had moved on with his new girlfriend Katie Alexander, 42, a marriage counsellor.

Loose Women panellist Brenda Edwards fears losing her job amid brutal ITV cuts

Loose Women panellist Brenda Edwards shared her worries for her role after ITV announced budget cuts to the programmes

Loose Women’s Brenda Edwards shared her worries about her job amid ITV’s budget cuts. The 56-year-old has been a panellist for the talk show since 2019 and hopes to keep her position on the programme to “raise awareness” on multiple topics that are regularly discussed on the show.

It comes as ITV revealed Loose Women will be airing for 30 weeks instead of 52 weeks starting from the New Year. Over 220 jobs at the channel are also being cut. Speaking to Women’s Own magazine, she said: “You have to move with the times I guess, and I hope this is just an interim thing, and maybe in a few years’ time [it will go back to how it was], but we can only wait and see.

“I don’t like to make assumptions on anything because I don’t know what’s happening there but I hope I manage to get some shows and am able to use my platform to raise awareness for whatever I can.”

She went on to discuss her fellow panellists, admitting she’s a “big fan” of Janet Street-Porter and her ‘feistiness’.

She added: “I just love her feistiness and outspokenness, which I think a lot of us have. She is doing her first-ever tour where she will talk to the audience, and it’s going to be fab!

Charlene White, Katie Piper, Janet Street-Porter and Brenda Edwards on Loose Women
Brenda said she’s a big fan of Janet’s ‘feistiness’
“I’m assuming she will talk about everything, including her life, so it will be amazing! We support each other as always. I remember when I was growing up all the women in my family loved Janet and what she stood for.”

Brenda isn’t the only Loose Women star to comment on the move as fellow panellist Nadia Sawalha previously said the ITV budget cuts news came “out of the blue” and would be “absolutely brutal” for the show.

Speaking on her YouTube channel, she said: “What’s been brutal, absolutely brutal, over the last week, honestly I feel tearful about it, is that hundreds of people… are going to be made redundant out of the blue, these are all the people behind the scenes that support us in every way.”

The cuts mean that around 220 out of the 440 staff involved in the programmes would lose their jobs following the decision published in May, reports the Guardian.

Whilst Loose Women will stay at the same running time, the number of times it appears on the air will be cut from 52 to 30 weeks.

ITV’s media and entertainment division Kevin Lygo has said that cutting Loose Women and Lorraine’s weeks aligned “with the lead daytime presenters who host their shows around a seasonal pattern”.

He explained: “Daytime is a really important part of what we do, and these scheduling and production changes will enable us to continue to deliver a schedule providing viewers with the news, debate and discussion they love from the presenters they know and trust, as well generating savings which will allow us to reinvest across the programme budget in other genres.”

  • ITV bosses ‘to slash 10% of cast’ at two MAJOR soaps amid ‘brutal’ budget woes

ITV bosses ‘to slash 10% of cast’ at two MAJOR soaps amid ‘brutal’ budget woes

ITV executives are said to be preparing to axe one in 10 cast members from both Coronation Street and Emmerdale as part of fresh cost-cutting measures

Editorial use only Mandatory Credit: Photo by ITV/REX/Shutterstock (13429047q) Emmerdale Village, featuring the Woolpack pub ‘Emmerdale’ TV Show, Episodes 9482-9501 UK – Oct 2022 Emmerdale, is a British ITV long running soap opera, known as Emmerdale Farm until 1989, set in Emmerdale, a fictional village in the Yorkshire Dales. It was created by Kevin Laffan and was first broadcast on 16 October 1972. It was originally produced by ITV Yorkshire and is still filmed in their Leeds studios.

ITV chiefs are reportedly planning sweeping cast reductions across their two premier soaps, with proposals to cut one in ten performers as part of new budget-slashing initiatives.

Both Coronation Street and Emmerdale may also witness fewer scenes per episode as ITV seeks to trim an additional £15 million from its overall spending, according to The Sun.

The broadcaster’s earnings have allegedly plummeted by 44 per cent to £99 million during the first six months of the year, sparking a fresh drive to curb production expenses.

Insiders suggest bosses are now pressing soap creators to reduce their escalating costs, with cast sizes being a primary target for scrutiny.

An insider revealed: “It’s brutal. We’ve known it was on the cards for a while, but they’re really cranking it up now and it’s across the soaps.

“They’re looking to save millions and Corrie and Emmerdale are the obvious places. They’re very expensive shows.

“Many who have been there for a long time are reliant on their income staying as it is.

“The amount of cast has spiralled out of control and focusing on dialogue, not action, could also save money.”

Industry sources have also hinted that the number of scenes per episode – currently averaging around 20 – might be reduced to lower filming expenses.

Fewer personalities could also feature in individual episodes to help maintain tighter budgets.

While some long-standing cast members are on full-time contracts with salaries, most are paid per episode, which means that reducing screen time or overall scenes could significantly cut costs.

These proposed changes come as ITV makes cuts across its daytime schedule. Good Morning Britain, Lorraine, This Morning and Loose Women have all reportedly been affected, with hundreds of staff being made redundant in recent months.

In response to reports of soap cast reductions, an ITV spokesperson stated: “This is complete speculation.”

Denise Welch savages Taylor Swift over Matty Healy romance in toe-curling interview

Loose Women star Denise Welch appeared on Watch What Happens Live! with Andy Cohen and discussed her son Matty Healy’s short-lived relationship with Taylor Swift

Denise Welch didn’t hold back as she shared her thoughts on her son Matty Healy’s brief romance with Taylor Swift. The Loose Women panellist appeared on Watch What Happens Live! with Andy Cohen when the Bravo host asked the actress about her famous son, who is the lead singer of The 1975.

The 67-year-old star was immediately asked about his relationship with Taylor, and specifically, what she thought about the pop star’s Tortured Poets Department album. Taylor, who is dating Travis Kelce, is known to write songs about her high-profile relationships and fans dissected the album to figure out which tracks were written about Matty.

Denise seemingly claimed Taylor’s fans hit out at any person who dares to criticise the 35-year-old pop star.

When Andy asked what she thought of the hit album, Denise said: “Obviously, on pain of death can I talk about that episode, but not being her mother-in-law is a role that I am glad that I lost.”

The straightforward comment shocked everyone in the room, including Andy. She quickly tried to calm things down as she added: “Not that I have anything against her at all! It was just — it was tricky.”

She then suggested it’s difficult to comment on anything to do with Taylor, as her fans would negatively react to it. “She — listen, you’re not allowed to say anything, and then she writes a whole album about it,” Denise explained.

Denise said that Matty has taken the album’s personal tracks ‘all in completely good grace,’ and added: “He’s very happy with his amazing fiancée Gabriella,” referring to singer Gabbriette.

“So we’ve moved on,” the ITV presenter said.

After her split from long-term boyfriend Joe Alwyn, Taylor was suddenly linked to The 1975’s Matty. His presence became immediately noticeable at Taylor’s Eras Tour concerts, lip-syncing words like “This one is about you,” while fans tried to decode glances and gestures between the pair that seemed way too deliberate to be random.

In between dinner dates they were snapped by paparazzi and frequent departures from her New York City apartment – and he even performed with Phoebe Bridgers – one of Taylor’s close friends – mid-tour.

When her album last year, fans immediately clocked apparent references to Matty – especially on “Guilty as Sin?”, “The Black Dog,” and “But Daddy I Love Him.” She seemed to paint their short fling as chaotic, obsessive and misunderstood.

Matty responded to the tracks supposedly written about him in a podcast chat where he said: “I would kind of just be lying if I made a record about my casual romantic liaisons just because I was famous.”

As Loose Women came to a close on Tuesday, Ruth Langsford made a show announcement.

The ITV star confirmed Loose Women would be pulled off the air, and an episode will not be shown on Wednesday.

The programme usually airs between Monday and Friday at 12.30pm and concludes at 1.30pm. However, on Wednesday, the show will be replaced by an ITV News special.

Viewers can tune in to watch The Chancellors Budger 2024, which will begin at 12.15 p.m. and end at 1.50 p.m.

Loose Women will be back on Thursday at its usual time of 12.30pm.

She added: “But we will be back with you on Thursday at 12.30pm with Strictly’s Johannes and Montell.”

Chancellor Rachel Reeves will deliver Labour’s first Budget for 14 years on Wednesday. She has warned that it will involve “difficult decisions.”

It will outline the government’s plans for raising or lowering taxes. It also includes major decisions about spending on health, schools, police, and other public services.

The current leader of the opposition, Conservative Party leader Rishi Sunak, will give a speech responding to the Budget as soon as Reeves has finished.

Elsewhere on Tuesday’s Loose Women, Ruth was forced to halt an interview with Romesh Ranganathan and his mother as they chatted about their new show.

It seemed a fly kept invading the guests’ space, which led Ruth to issue an apology.

Romesh told the panel: “I think the problem with mum, if you don’t mind me saying, is she has got too much faith in me. I feel like she would assume that I am going to do really well… then I wouldn’t and she’d be really disappointed.”

“Sorry, that is our last fly,” Ruth interrupted as Romesh tried to bat away the fly with his hand.

Loose Women’s Coleen Nolan says ‘I’ll never forget’ in heartbreaking death admission

On Tuesday’s instalment of Loose Women, the panel spoke about grief and how they deal with the loss of a loved one

Coleen Nolan made a heartbreaking admission during Tuesday’s instalment of the ITV show. It comes as the panel were discussing the anniversary of Friends actor Matthew Perry’s death.

As Kéllé Bryan explained her family have a massive celebration each year to remember her late nan, Ruth Langsford addressed Coleen. Speaking about her co-star’s late sister, Ruth said: “We know Col that Bernie loved a party and she was a party girl.”

Agreeing, Coleen called her sibling a “party animal” as she confessed Bernie would find any excuse to throw a party. On the anniversary of her birthday or indeed her passing, all my family get together and have a thing called a vodka mule.

“I don’t, I think it’s because when we all get together because she loved a party, so when we all get together at a party, it makes me miss her more.”

Coleen confessed it hits her when her family are together in a party gathering as it reminds her Bernie is no longer with them. The ITV star added with some humour: “She would’ve been at the forefront of that party and I don’t like vodka. She’s really really selfish to say vodka mule!”

She explained all of her family grieve in different ways and they all respect how they cope with Bernie’s death individually. Coleen added: “For me. It’s not, ‘Oh I like to have this thing that’s going to help me remember them’. Because I never, ever, from the day she died or my parents died, ever forgot. I’ll never forget.”

Coleen’s sister Bernie died in 2013 after suffering from breast cancer at the age of 52. The singer was diagnosed three years prior to her death and underwent chemotherapy and a mastectomy before being given the all-clear in 2012. However, shortly after she was told the cancer had returned and had spread to her brain, bones, lungs and liver.

When asked how to keep the memory of a lost loved one alive, Kelly replied: “For me, I lost my dad in 2007 and I feel like I’m only just coming to terms with it now.

“For me, having pictures up or a photo album, things like that I can only bring myself to look at them at certain times of the year. I don’t want a daily constant reminder. That’s definitely not for me.”

Kelly’s dad, Kenneth Parsons, died from cancer at the age of 57.

Actress Faye Brookes married her now-husband Iwan Lewis after a whirlwind romance just 10 months after they started dating, with her mum revealing how she knew he was ‘The One’

    Faye Brookes and Iwan Lewis

As Coronation Street’s Kate Connor, she was handed a host of sensational storylines – but nothing that appeared on screen could ever be as dramatic as the story of how actress Faye Brookes got together with her husband Iwan Lewis.

The pair married last year in a whirlwind romance just seven months after getting engaged and ten months after they started dating. But Faye has revealed for the first time that her mum predicated they would end up tying the knot a whole 13 years earlier.

In their early twenties, the couple had been cast together in the play Legally Blonde, where they spent 18 months together on tour. They became good friends and Iwan got to know Faye’s family.

    Faye Brookes

    Faye Brookes and Iwan Lewis
The couple wed after a 10-month romance(Image: Instagram)

She recalls: “He was saying to my mum, ‘You know I’m going to marry her one day?’ And my mum jested with him and said, ‘She doesn’t even like you!’ But my mum knew then.”

But while Iwan was waiting in the wings, former Pop Idol star Gareth Gates ended up centre stage after joining the cast of the same show the following year in 2012. He and Faye fell in love and were together for seven years, even getting engaged, but the relationship ended in 2019.

Faye then dated personal trainer Joe Davies and they moved in together, but they split in the summer of 2022. And by the end of that year, she was already engaged to Iwan.

“We were back in each other’s lives, but I didn’t really think anything of a romantic relationship with Iwan until I really started to spend more time with him,” Faye says. “We were sharing our lives together as friends and I loved being in his vicinity all the time. I loved our conversations; I loved the humour – there’s nobody makes me laugh the way the way he makes me laugh.

“He ended up saying: ‘Let me take you on a real date.’ We went on this date and for the first time ever I looked at him like the man I always knew he was going to be. I was like: ‘Now I’m ready for you and you’re ready for me.’ And that was it. I knew it was destiny stepping in and telling us: ‘This is it now. There’s no need to look at anybody else, or think about anybody else, or give anybody else the time of day.’

“When I was younger, I thought he was a beautiful man, but I knew we both had a lot of growing up to do. I thought he could be the right man for me, but I knew it wasn’t our time. We were meant to get together when we got together, and we were meant to get married after such a whirlwind romance, because we had waited long enough for one other.”

What is even more extraordinary is that Faye actually met Iwan for the first time at drama school, when they were both still teenagers. The actress, currently playing Roxie Hart in the award-winning nationwide tour of Chicago, smiled: “I’ve known Iwan since I was 18, so there’s nothing that man doesn’t know about me.

    Faye Brookes
Faye first met Iwan aged just 18(Image: PR HANDOUT)

“He’s watched me grow up, he watched me being catapulted into the spotlight – he knew me before and he knows me now. He’s seen me really go through life, he loves me and nothing has changed in his eyes – he knows my heart and my soul.”

Faye joined Coronation Street in 2015 as feisty Kate Connor, the half-sister of factory boss Carla Connor. During her four years in the show, she had more than her fair share of drama and heartache, including the suicide of Kate’s brother Aidan and the tragic death of her fiancé Rana Nazir on what should have been their wedding day.

Faye is currently tackling a different sort of drama in the hit musical Chicago. Set in America’s glamorous jazz age, it features a host of well-known songs, including Razzle Dazzle and Cell Block Tango.

Alongside Strictly dancer Kevin Clifton in the role of Billy Flynn and Loose Women presenter Brenda Edwards as prison governor Mama Morton, Faye takes the lead role of Roxie Hart, a married nightclub dancer who murders her lover after he threatens to walk out on her.

Desperate to avoid conviction, she dupes the public and the media by hiring Chicago’s slickest criminal lawyer to transform her shocking crime into a barrage of sensational headlines. “I love the fact that it’s based on a true story,” Faye says. “There have been so many different versions and films over the years; it’s incredible – it’s like no other show – there’s a reason why it’s been going for so long.”

Faye has starred in several hit musicals since leaving Coronation Street. Her last TV appearance was in Dancing on Ice in 2021, where she came second, and she admits she would love a return to the small screen, but not necessarily to the cobbles.

“I would love to do more TV. I loved Corrie, but I’m hungry for more and I would like to do another role,” she explains. “My dream is to play somebody in a biopic, or create a Disney character.

“I’d also love to do Strictly – sign me up! I’m a fan of the show and it would be amazing to learn all sorts of dance styles. I touched on that working with Kevin Clifton in Strictly Ballroom – we got to do the Paso doble, a little bit of a Rumba and other dances that really got me excited and tested me.”

Faye, 37, has previously told how she suffered “breakdowns” during her appearance on Dancing on Ice as she strove for perfection. Today she says that she has never been happier and credits a strict daily routine of meditation and exercise with having helped her find her way. “I do a lot of work on me.

“If I’m not on stage I’m checking in with myself mentally and physically,” she explains. “I meditate and I work out every single day without fail, even if I’m doing two shows.

“Whether it be stretching or little dance routines, I have to do it for me. I think that’s really important for mind, body and soul to be aligned. Nothing fazes me if I do that routine every day.”

Faye, who lives with Iwan in the Cotswolds, will be touring with Chicago until next March, but admits she hopes one of her future roles could be as a mother. “If it’s in God’s plan I would love to have children,” she smiles. “I’m trusting in the universe. I’m just loving my life, I’m very happy and if I get children, it will be a blessing.”

In the meantime, she is relishing every second of married life, having waited until she was 36 to settle down. “It’s taken a lot of twists and turns in the road that have really challenged me,” she acknowledges. “The fact that I’ve had that time and gone through some life experience, I now know what I want and what I need.

“When Iwan got serious with me about spending the rest of his life with me, I suddenly thought that he was there the whole time and loved me unconditionally. He’s my rock and I didn’t think twice when he asked me to marry him, I just knew. He’s been my best friend and he will be my best friend forever.

“He will accept me for everything that I am, whether I am having a good day or a bad day, even if I’m not working and I’m just happy living in the Cotswolds forever; he just wants everything for me. He’s my biggest champion. He always has been and he always will be.”
