Loose Women confirm special tribute to ITV show legend 10 years after tragic death

Loose Women will remember former panelist Lynda Bellingham OBE next week as the ITV daytime show marks the 10th anniversary of her tragic death after losing her battle with cancer

Loose Women will pay a special tribute to late panelist Lynda Bellingham OBE next week to mark 10th anniversary of her tragic death.

The actress and TV personality sadly passed away with husband Michael by her side on October 19. 2014 after being diagnosed with colorectal cancer.

She joined Loose Women on 10 April 2007, appearing alongside Carol McGiffin and Coleen Nolan, and continued as a regular on the show until 2011. In total, Lynda made more than 300 appearances on the show, including a special appearance in 2014 shortly before her death.

Two editions of Loose Women were dedicated to Lynda after her death and Kaye Adams confirmed on Friday’s (October 11) show that the ITV daytime programme will remember the former star on Wednesday next week.

Kaye, Judi Love, Nadia Sawalha and Jane Moore spoke to actress Julie Graham about her upcoming TV projects and conversation turned to her working with “brilliant” Lynda. Kaye later informed viewers that the show will remember Lynda next week with a special show featuring members of her family.

It comes after former Loose Women star Jane McDonald said she believes Lynda is still guiding her life in some ways. Singer and TV star Jane, 61, appeared on Loose Women from 2004 until 2010 alongside Lynda and says she gave her other career breaks along the way. The pair were very close friends when Lynda died.

Jane said: “I owe such a lot to Lynda because she asked me to take over her Birmingham panto for that year when she was poorly. Thank goodness I did because through that I got Cats[Musical she appeared on stage in 2015], then through Cats and getting the vocal training that I did, that’s when my voice changed, and I went on to be able to sing just about anything – that’s all through Lynda.

“So I still think Lynda’s guiding us all in our own ways. Her and I became really, really good friends over the years of Loose Women. I’ll always be grateful to Lynda for guiding me a little bit because she was the first person that interviewed Ed for the job as my boyfriend. She says I need to see this guy, and the first thing she said to him, what are your intentions to my friend?”

  • Sarah Ferguson says having cancer has revealed ‘true self’ after trauma of being left by mum at 11

Sarah Ferguson says having cancer has revealed ‘true self’ after trauma of being left by mum at 11

Sarah, Duchess of York, has opened up about her life, her charity work and her pride in the King and the Princess of Wales ahead of her landmark 65th birthday

Sarah, Duchess of York, a beacon of resilience, has faced relentless challenges and criticism during more than 35 years in the harsh glare of the media. Yet, she’s unwavering in her dedication to kindness and helping others — a commitment that shone through when she visited Manchester to become patron of Prevent Breast Cancer, followed by a stroll on Coronation Street’s iconic set.

The Duchess was roped into the charity by Coronation Street’s Sally Dynevor (Sally Metcalfe) during a backstage chat at ITV’s Loose Women. Moved by Sally’s plea to help secure the future of the National Breast Imaging Academy with a final fundraising effort, Sarah’s response was instinctive: “I had to help!”

“I told Sally, ‘I’m coming to Manchester’. We’ll get to work and help you raise the last £600,000. Every little bit helps and that’s why everyone doing all this work here is so important. Fifty seven thousand people are diagnosed with breast cancer every year and I am very proud, and excited, to be part of the National Breast Imaging Academy.”

    sarah sally

Her visit, aligning with Breast Cancer Awareness Month, included a tour of the centre alongside Sally and Sue Cleaver (Eileen Grimshaw), another star from the soap.

Reflecting on the moment she approached Sarah about the charity, Sally told OK!: “It was just an off-the-cuff remark to her because Sarah is very warm and I suddenly thought, ‘I need to tell her what we’re doing up here in Manchester because it’s so important and she’s been through breast cancer, so she understands completely’. I told her about what we’re raising the money for and she said, ‘I’ll help you raise it’. And I instantly knew she was going to do it.”

Cancer has cruelly touched the Royal Family this year, with both the King and the Princess of Wales being diagnosed and treated for their illnesses. Since the King became the Patron of Cancer Research UK in April, and with the Princess sharing her personal experiences, Sarah is convinced that Queen Elizabeth II would have been incredibly proud of them.

Reflecting on the Queen’s legacy, the Duchess remarked: “She really was the most iconic and legendary woman,” adding, “Her Late Majesty was a great believer in kindness and was a leader of understanding and a leader of goodness. I think having His Majesty and the Princess of Wales out there as ambassadors is so important and I am just so incredibly pleased that her value system, her integrity and what she stood for in this country are being upheld.”

    sarah

The Duchess has had her fair share of health scares, battling breast and skin cancer alongside the pain of knowing her father – Major Ronald Ferguson – also contended with two cancer diagnoses in his lifetime. Her charitable efforts, particularly as patron of the Teenage Cancer Trust since 1990, have been inspired by these battles.

Nonetheless, Sarah insists that facing cancer was not the toughest obstacle she’s had to face. Keen on being candid about her struggles, she said, “I think the whole journey of my life has been very interesting. My mum chose to live in Argentina when I was 11 years old and that must have been very difficult for the little girl to be left. So I think that was a really huge trauma, and from then on, it’s been one of getting to know who Sarah was and trying to get her out.”

She reflected further, admitting, “I often say, does it take someone to be scarred with the mastectomy in order to find your true self? We all go through self-doubt, self-hatred, but I think that I’ve always met adversity in a very cerebral way – the only one which really foxed me was cancer because I could not comprehend the word. I couldn’t comprehend the diagnosis. I don’t think it was the most challenging, but I think it was certainly the one that had to use an awful lot more understanding.”

The Duchess has long been a passionate supporter of her charities and organisations, but it seems she’s now shifting focus to embrace her true self. On her Tea Talks podcast with Sarah Thomson, she opened up about how her battle with illness has led her to start “fighting for Sarah” and putting herself first.

“My mindset going forward is to not be self-full but to be self-love,” she declared. “If you don’t keep your boundaries for yourself, who is going to do it for you? If you don’t keep your authentic truth, who is going to do it for you? We need to have more self-love and have the boundaries to take a moment to ourselves.”

Her vibrant energy and enthusiasm are unmistakable, as she effortlessly engages with everyone, cracks jokes on the fly, and even tries her hand at pulling a pint in Coronation Street’s iconic Rovers Return pub.

Channeling her inner Mancunian, she playfully asked Sally, “What will you have, lass? ” The visit also included a poignant moment as they honoured the late Queen, who had visited the set for the show’s 60th anniversary in 2021. Raising a glass, the Duchess said: “We ought to drink a pint to my wonderful mother-in-law. She really loved her time here.”

The day also arrived just before her significant 65th birthday on 15 October, an occasion that holds a special resonance this time. “This birthday is something that I’m really going to enjoy,” Sarah revealed.

“I haven’t planned anything but I’m really going to enjoy it. It’s not because I’m so lucky to have made it. It’s because 65 years on this planet is quite something.”

“I’m still here. I beat my mum. Mum died at 62. I miss Diana [the late Princess of Wales], she’s not here, my best friend, Carolyn, she’s not here. And so I’m here and I want to do something, but I don’t know what to do yet… all I know is I don’t want it planned. It is a milestone but I don’t look at it like I look at it. My achievement is to be even more humble than I was yesterday, to be a better person than I was yesterday and to be kinder and to show more joy.”

    sarah
Sarah also spoke about her excitement at becoming a grandmother again(Image: Instagram/sarahferguson15)

Adding to the Duchess’s joy, the delightful news that Princess Beatrice is expecting her second child with husband, Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, was recently shared. She’s evidently overflowing with joy as she describes how she interacts with her two daughters’ children.

“It’s such a blessing to see the family growing,” she shared with us. “To know that I’m so proud of my girls being really fabulous mothers is such a huge tonic in my life, as is having beautiful grandchildren, who are all doing so well. I’ve learned about trains and because August and Ernest love playing with trains – but I can play Barbies with Sienna just like I used to with the girls – I’m still learning trains, though, because boys are so different!”.

Ruth Langsford has been connecting with nature this weekend as she embraces her new life following her shock divorce announcement

On Saturday, the Loose Women icon was wrapped up and ready for whatever the weather threw at her as she went for a walk in the park. Flashing a smile from beneath her all weather coat, Ruth revealed that she was with her true love as she got some fresh air and connected with nature.

She revealed she was walking her beloved dog, Maggie – who she has been battling for custody of following the news her marriage to Eamonn Holmes, 64, is over. Ruth uploaded content of herself with Maggie on Instagram Stories on Saturday and wrote: “Walking in the rain with the one I love!”

And the ladies enjoyed even more time together on Sunday – with Ruth sharing footage of Maggie merrily skipping her way through a park while on a lead. She uploaded the clip to her Stories along with a caption stating: “She’s sprightly today!” And she added an animated sign reading: “Autumn walk.”

It seems that dressing her dog to match her is another way to ensure fans can be aware just how much Ruth loves her pet. As she also revealed, via another photograph of herself wearing her warm coat: “Lots of you asking about my coat… I put the wrong tag yesterday. It’s from @wearedrybones. Super warm, super cool and waterproof! Maggie’s got one too!”

Ruth and Eamonn shocked their fans in May this year when it was announced they plan to divorce after 14 years of marriage. They confirmed their split through a representative, who said: “Ruth Langsford and Eamonn Holmes have confirmed their marriage is over and they are in the process of divorcing.”

A bitter custody battle was then reported – as both broadcasters want to be able to claim ownership of their beloved dog. A source previously told The Sun: “Maggie is like a daughter to them. They dote on her. But she’s getting on and they know she needs stability.

“It’s a case of who can give her that. Eamonn adores her and Maggie’s been such a support during his health woes. The thought of giving her up is heartbreaking to him. But if Ruth is able to get out and about and walk her more, then it may well be that she gets Maggie in the split.

“They are adamant this won’t come to what Ant and Lisa went through and they won’t be getting lawyers involved.” Ruth and Eamonn are actual parents to a son named Jack, who is 22. However, prior to the split, Eamonn joked that his wife loved their pooch more than she loved him, as he quipped: “I genuinely have never experienced affection like it.”

The Loose Women star and ITV News presenter revealed that she got into a disagreement with American Airlines staff when recently flying with her two children, Alfie and Florence

Loose Women panellist Charlene White revealed she refused to get on a flight if she was separated from her children, telling airline crew they would be breaking the law by doing so.

Charlene, 44, told the American Airlines staff that it was “illegal” for her to sit away from her children when flying, saying: “Don’t mess with me.” The ITV star, who shares children Alfie, seven, and Florence, five, with partner Andy Woodfield, said she wouldn’t get on the flight until staff sorted it out.

Chatting with comedian Alan Carr on his Life’s A Beach podcast, she told him: “I’ve got no problem with complaining about stuff. I almost refused to get an American Airlines flight two months ago because they split me up from my kids, which is illegal.

“So then I reminded them of aviation law and said to them they sort it out or I’m not getting on the flight and they will have to put me on the next flight with my children. Don’t mess with me. You’re not allowed to be split up from your children because if something happens.”

She explained that she would need to help them with their breathing equipment and life jacket, should the worst happen.

Charlene added: “If there’s an accident and the thing comes down, you can’t necessarily trust a stranger to do that for you so legally you have to sit with your children. And they were trying to tell me that’s not true, and I said ‘I think you’ll find it is’.”

According to Civil Aviation Authority (CAA), although it’s not illegal to separate children and parents, as well as any other vulnerable person, it does go against the organisation’s guidelines. This is because it can impede evacuation efforts as parents will be trying to get to their children.

The CAA’s website reads: “Young children and infants who are accompanied by adults should ideally be seated in the same seat row as the adult. Where this is not possible, children should be separated by no more than one seat row from accompanying adults. This is because the speed of an emergency evacuation may be affected by adults trying to reach their children.”

Meanwhile, American Airlines states they will “assign seats a few days after you buy your tickets so children under 15 are next to at least one adult” they’re travelling with.

In contrast to Charlene, presenter Kirstie Allsopp previously told The Sun that she often buys seats away from a children, in a different area of the plane, admitting her and her partner sometimes fly business class, while her kids sit in economy.

She pointed out that she doesn’t want to ‘spoil’ her kids, adding that the money she saves means her family can “take a shed load of holidays”.

Kirstie said: “Club class should be huge treat that you’ve worked for. If kids get used to Club class what do they have to work towards?”

Linda Robson quashes Pauline Quirke feud rumours with endearing five-word comment

Linda Robson has completely shut down any rumours that she and Pauline Quirke are at loggerheads as she chatted about their present relationship on Wednesday’s Loose Women

Linda Robson has continued to slam rumours around her long-standing friendship with Pauline Quirke.

There was buzz around the Loose Women studio as Linda celebrated 35 years since the popular BBC One programme Birds Of A Feather first aired on screens. It was at this point, the actress recalled how she and Pauline had first been scouted.

Chatting to her fellow panelists about her big television break on Wednesday’s (October 16) episode, Linda recalled the pair racing against the clock and across town on a bus together. They made it to the studio with seconds to go and completely knocked it out of the park with their audition.

After they’d showcased their acting skills, one producer approached them saying “we’ve got a huge success on our hands here,” and the pair immediately knew their lives were about to change for the better.

Detailing the moment with fondness while also shutting down rumours that she and Pauline were ever at loggerheads, Linda explained: “Just two friends racing across town on the bus to make it and here we are all those years later, still the bestest of friends.”

Linda continues to shut down feud rumours with Pauline

She added: “I mean, who would have thought it?” There were gushes of praise as Linda received warm compliments from her co-stars, Christine Lampard, Coleen Nolan and Katie Piper, who had all grown up with the much-loved programme on their screens at home.

Previously, there had been growing speculation over a possible feud between the two stars left fans heartbroken, especially after knowing Linda and Pauline’s history off-screen.

It was speculated that Pauline and Linda fellout over the Christmas special

The pair were best friends since primary school and even joined a drama club as teenagers together. Their friendship went beyond that of a normal pals, with their relationship blossoming in front of millions of viewers on the hit show Birds of a Feather throughout the 80s.

Rumours that there had been trouble in paradise between the pair started to swirl when a Christmas episode aired in 2020 but Pauline chose not to be part of the production, leaving Linda and Lesley Joseph “devastated”.

At the time, Linda shared on ITV’s Loose Women that she’d been upset over Pauline’s decision but reassured fans it would not impact their friendship. She said: “I’m not going to lie and say Lesley and I weren’t disappointed. Of course we were. We were gutted and we couldn’t imagine going on without her.

“We were a trio how could it possibly work without any one of us? But at the same time as all that sadness, there was acceptance and understanding, too.”

After the chimes about their friendship began to escalate, Linda knew it was time to stop the rumours in their tracks. She added: “Sure enough, the headlines were predictable, saying there was a ‘feud’ and ‘bad blood’ and that she’d quit because we were no longer speaking. It’s such bulls***. We tried to ignore it but it was difficult when it was all we were ever asked about.”

In 2022, the trio reunited for a meet-up, along with Lesley in Central London, dispelling any falling-out gossip. Linda revealed on-air: “We had our photo taken together and I got my daughter Roberta to upload it to my Instagram, captioning it: “A lovely lunch with my beautiful friends.’ It was our way of saying, ‘There you go, that’ll shut you up!’”

  • Loose Women’s Brenda Edwards’ latest cancer scare after heartache over son Jamal’s shock death

Loose Women’s Brenda Edwards’ latest cancer scare after heartache over son Jamal’s shock death

Brenda Edwards had some tough times in recent years with the sudden death of her son Jamal and breast cancer scare. The presenter speaks to The Mirror on how her fellow Loose Women star Coleen Nolan has been supporting her

She fought breast cancer in 2016, went through early menopause because of the chemo, and then she tragically lost her son Jamal, aged 31, in 2022.

Now Brenda Edwards admits she’s getting used to a new life – one in which she’s only too aware the cancer could return at any point. And that’s why the second she felt a new lump she went straight to the hospital for tests – and took her fellow Loose Women star and Mirror agony aunt Coleen Nolan with her.

“I thought I’d felt a lump and I was a little bit worried about it and obviously once you’ve had it, you’re told that if there’s anything else, no matter how big or small, to flag it,” Brenda, 55, explains.

Coleen, 59, knows only too well the devastating effects of the disease, having seen three of her sisters, Bernie, Anne and Linda diagnosed with breast cancer. Bernie passed away in 2013 aged just 52 and fellow Mirror columnist Linda, 65, is currently fighting secondary breast cancer which has spread to the brain.

It made Coleen uniquely qualified to support Brenda through her scare. “Myself and Coleen do have talks about it and Coleen kindly came with me to the hospital,” she says.

“It’s nice to have someone like her, because she’s so funny. If you’re sitting in a waiting room and you’re going through your thoughts and thinking of what could be, Coleen is the perfect person to make a distraction and keep your mind off the worst.”

Thankfully doctors gave Brenda the news that she was longing to hear. “I got the all clear and I’ve been nine years free of cancer; I’m very grateful,” she smiles.

Brenda joined the Loose Women panel five years ago and quickly established herself as one of the show’s most enthusiastic and positive presenters. But she acknowledges that her zest for life and her enthusiasm to take on new challenges inevitably stems from the tough times she has endured.

“Having cancer will change anybody, because you face a life of uncertainty, so it does make you appreciate life every day,” she says thoughtfully. I’m very grateful for what life brings me. I’ve always been a go getter, but [now] I’m even more of a go-getter. If you don’t try, you’ll never know. You might succeed, so I’ll try almost anything.”

One of the things that Brenda is currently desperate to try is a twirl around the Strictly Come Dancing ballroom. It was rumoured before this series that she was being eyed up as a possible contestant. It may not have worked out this time – she’s about to go on tour but she can’t wait cha-cha-charm Craig Revel Horwood and co another time.

Plenty of her Loose Women colleagues have competed on the BBC1 dance show, with very mixed results. Brenda laughs: “I did a little bit of it when I appeared on television in Strictly The Real Full Monty [the ITV show to raise cancer awareness].

“They had a ballroom scene. It was fun, but it was tiring. It was only a minute and I was exhausted! I’ve got two left feet, so I’d be more movement than dance.”

Brenda’s warm-hearted nature has seen her make close friends with many of her Loose Women co-stars, including Coleen, Charlene White, Ruth Langsford, Judi Love and Kelle Bryan. And she is hoping that many of them will be in the audience supporting her in her latest venture, which sees her returning to star as Mama Morton in a UK tour of the award-winning musical Chicago.

Set amidst the razzle-dazzle decadence of the 1920s and featuring a slew of classic songs, including All That Jazz and When You’re Good to Mama, the tour sees former Strictly dancer Kevin Clifton in the role of Billy Flynn and former Coronation Street actress Faye Brookes as Roxie Hart.

Brenda, who lives in West London, shot to fame as a semi-finalist on the second series of The X Factor in 2005. Since then, she has had a successful musical theatre career, with roles in the UK tour of Hairspray, We Will Rock You in the West End and appearances at the London Coliseum and the Royal Festival Hall. She also released her debut album in 2011.

Born in Bedfordshire to a Caribbean family, Brenda was raised by relatives following the tragic death of her parents in a car crash when she was four. She spent her childhood singing in a Pentecostal choir and at 18 sang at local nightclubs, weddings and funerals, but she was forced to take a full-time job working in accounts to make ends meet.

Then, at 36, she took a last stab at a career in showbusiness when she entered The X Factor. Finishing fourth to winner Shayne Ward (currently on Strictly), her soulful vocals saw her immediately signed up to join the cast of Chicago in the West End.

It makes her return to the role of Mama Morton all the more special. “It’s really nice to be back in the Chicago family,” she smiles. “I’m really glad that they asked me if I’d return.

“Mama Morton is a very stern keeper of the keys – she runs the jail. Am I anything like her? I wear my heart on my sleeve. I’m not as tough – but I’m quite straight to the point.”

Brenda’s a mum-of-two herself, with daughter singer songwriter Tanisha and late DJ and SBTV founder Jamal MBE, whose pioneering music channel helped launch the likes of Ed Sheeran. Jamal died in February 2022 from a heart attack after taking cocaine and drinking alcohol.

In August, Brenda marked what would have been SBTV star’s 34th birthday with a sweet message: “I know Jamal is celebrating his Birthday today up above and you can guarantee I will be doing the same.”

Ed, 33, has meanwhile admitted Jamal’s death forced him to kick a drug habit which he’d developed in his mid-20s. He previously said: “I would never, ever, ever touch anything again, because that’s how Jamal died. And that’s just disrespectful to his memory to even, like, go near.”

Jamal and Ed Sheeran on Ed's Disney Plus Documentary The Sum Of It All
Jamal was great friends with Ed Sheeran who was devastated with his death

Just like during the cancer scare, Coleen was also a rock for Brenda during her grief. The agony aunt recently told the Mirror about her surprise and pride at the way Brenda managed to go on.

For now, that’s just by keeping busy. She’s touring with Chicago until February while juggling with her Loose Women filming commitments.

And she knows she has to take care of her own health too however. That’s why she’s even taking an air fryer on tour with her, rather than be tempted by unhealthy restaurant or hotel meals.

“Since my cancer I researched on what I should eat. I was eating a lot of processed foods and not a lot of veg, so spinach is my best friend,” she explains. “I love broccoli, salmon and chicken and I try to stay away from sugars and white wine and be sensible. Now I drink gin and tonic – the Queen’s drink. If it works for Her Majesty, it works for me!”

She admits being driven with her career, but insists: “I’m not a workaholic. I do work hard, there’s no point in doing a job if you’re not going to do it properly, focus on it and commit to it. I think that’s a nice work ethic to have. That’s the way I was raised, my whole family are like that – they’re hard-working people.

“Yet, you’ve got to know when to switch off, because all work and no fun makes you a very dull person.”

Stacey Solomon has been gradually withdrawing from various high-profile commitments in recent months, sparking speculation about her future plans. The beloved star has been noticeably absent from Loose Women since announcing a hiatus from the ITV chat show last December – making just one appearance since. Furthermore, Stacey was conspicuously missing from the 25th anniversary portrait of the ITV show, which celebrated its current stars.

The former X Factor contestant is also believed to have stepped back from her popular Channel 4 show Renovation Rescue and declared that she was leaving her role as brand ambassador for In The Style, a position she’s held since 2021, to concentrate on her family. And it’s possible that balancing her highly successful career with her bustling family life became too overwhelming, reports OK!.

No one can deny that Stacey’s house is a busy one. She shares Rex, five, Rose, three, and one year old Belle with former EastEnders actor Joe Swash, as well as Leighton, 12, and Zachary, 15, from previous relationships (Joe also has an 18 year old son, Henry, from a past relationship). Now, a source has claimed that devoted mum Stacey, the devoted mum, as she and Joe gear up to introduce their new reality show, Escape To Pickle Cottage – may have plans for expanding their brood.

“Despite all her success, Stacey says being a mum is the best thing that has happened to her and she loves having such a big family, even though it can be hard work,” they revealed. “Belle is turning two soon, and she hates the fact that she’s no longer a baby and she is starting to get broody again. Both her and Joe would love baby number six at some point.”

Stacey has previously, albeit jokingly at times, confessed to feeling broody – and with the family set to open their doors to a TV crew, it seems like an ideal moment for another addition to the clan. In January, the 34 year old caused a stir when she posted a heartwarming clip of her three year old son Rex helping little Belle take her first steps, captioned with ‘Why am I broody?’

Back in May, the celeb shared her ultimate goal to leave television behind to be with her five kids, stating she only wants work that allows her to stay at home. And the insider reveals that with her eldest, Zach, hitting 16, she’s acutely conscious of the fleeting nature of time. “She is only taking on things that work for her as a mum now. Zach is now doing an apprenticeship – so she knows how quickly time goes and she just wants to be with her children as much as she can while they’re little.”

They suggest that a new baby would be a seamless addition to her upcoming reality show. “She could continue to film while pregnant and then the new baby would fit right in with the show and viewers would love it.” The source says Joe, whose mother was a foster carer, is keen on fostering, but Stacey feels she’s not ready for that step yet and believes they haven’t completed their own family. Friends of the duo are reportedly bracing for a significant announcement come 2025.

“Friends are already predicting that Stacey announces a new baby next year, and she would love another little girl so she has three of each – the girls would all be so close growing up”, they revealed. “She also loves seeing how great Joe is as a girl dad. It brings tears to her eyes when he plays fairies and dolls and princesses with them and she wants more of that.”

If Stacey and Joe, who have weathered the highs and lows of family life thus far, truly are contemplating welcoming another tot into their clan, it would be a delightful addition to a loving family – and would only enhance what is already set to be a thrilling peek behind the scenes of their lives at Pickle Cottage.

Loose Women’s Olivia Attwood Dack has issued a heartfelt plea to social media users in the wake of Liam Payne’s heartbreaking death.

On the live broadcast of ITV’s daytime programme on Thursday (October 17), Olivia, alongside host Kaye Adams, Penny Lancaster and Katie Piper, honoured the late One Direction sensation who was tragically found deceased on Wednesday at a hotel in Buenos Aires.

Kaye, 61, struck a sombre tone as she commenced the show with a tribute to the singer and shared her condolences for Liam’s loved ones. She then turned to Olivia, asking: “Did you cross paths with him over the years?” to which she confirmed encountering Liam “a couple of times”.

The 33 year old TV personality expressed her grief over Liam’s demise and implored the online community to ‘leave each other alone’. Reflecting on her memories, Olivia said: “I remember vividly the X-Factor journey, I was a fan of the band it’s so tragic.”

She continued, revealing her thoughts: “The first thing of thought of this morning was the last couple of weeks my algorithm on social media has been very full of videos of him, people speculating, taking the mick – and whatever

“This is not be speculating around what’s happened but why can’t we just leave people alone? If someone is acting in a way that seems unusual, there is probably a reason and making fun of them for viral content is probably not the best approach.”

Olivia remarked: “I feel like with social media it’s the best and worst of humanities on display and I think before posting things sometimes take a minute and think ‘why are you posting this?’”

Tragedy struck as 31 year old Liam Payne died on Wednesday following a fall from the third floor of a hotel in Buenos Aires’ Palermo district, Argentina, reports Birmingham Live.

Authorities reported that the father-of-one tragically plummeted from the third floor into the inner courtyard of the Casa Sur Hotel, where medical personnel later pronounced his death.

Loose Women favourite Janet Street-Porter has shed light on the looming cuts coming to ITV which are set to impact several daytime shows.

Panellist and journalist Janet, 78, has insisted that none of the ‘older’ Loose Women panellists will be going anywhere, hinting that if jobs are to be cut, it will be the newcomers or younger stars who appear on the ITV show.

“There are no plans to get rid of the older women despite of what some people have said,” Janet insisted. “In fact, the reserve is true. ITV actually put out a statement saying we are the valued members of the show because the audience totally relates to us.”

Janet added: “I think Loose Women has become a programme that is trusted by a lot of women because we talk about the issues that they are concerned about – whether it’s female health, domestic violence, or how politicians don’t really understand working women.

“I think the show has managed to connect women who wouldn’t otherwise have a voice. And it’s delivered with a lot of laughs because we don’t take ourselves too seriously,” she told Bella.

It comes as Loose Women is facing its biggest shake-up in decades, with dramatic changes that have left fans and cast members reeling as insiders fear the ITV favourite could be axed altogether within the next year.

The iconic lunchtime chat show, known for its bold debates and A-list guests, is expected to cut celebrity interviews completely from January as part of sweeping budget cuts across ITV Daytime.

The move comes just months after bosses announced the show would only air for 30 weeks of the year rather than its usual 52, slashing production time nearly in half.

Now, with viewing figures predicted to tumble even further, sources claim Loose Women is “on borrowed time” as ITV pivots its focus to sister shows Lorraine and This Morning.

Over its 25 year history, Loose Women has welcomed some of the world’s biggest stars to the panel – from Naomi Campbell and Janet Jackson to Dame Joan Collins and even former Prime Minister Rishi Sunak.

But sources claim the show will no longer feature famous faces promoting their projects because there won’t be enough staff to manage guests behind the scenes.

Instead, those high-profile bookings will now reportedly be prioritised for Lorraine and This Morning, leaving Loose Women to rely solely on its panel discussions of the day’s news and lifestyle topics.

“Not having guests is a big blow for both the presenters and viewers at home,” an insider revealed.

“The celebrity interviews are often one of the highlights of the show and bring a unique energy you don’t get on other programmes. It feels like a strange decision to cut them altogether.”

Behind the scenes, the panel – including long-serving stars like Nadia Sawalha, Ruth Langsford and Coleen Nolan – are said to be “deeply upset” by the changes.

Loose Women has already axed its live studio audience, a move that has left both the panel and crew heartbroken.

Nadia Sawalha admitted she was “totally devastated” at the loss of the audience and spoke out in support of her close friend and warm-up artist Lee Peart, who lost his job as a result.

“The audience is so important for the show,” Nadia said. “What a lot of people don’t realise is that we’re self-employed. Every contract is a new contract – I could be let go tomorrow or in five years. It’s brutal.”

She added: “Hundreds of people are going to be made redundant out of the blue. A lot of my friends and colleagues on this show and at ITV have been there for decades, and I can’t tell you how upsetting it was to see people walking around numb with shock and fear about what they were going to do.”

ITV bosses have blamed “insane inflation” and rising costs for the daytime cuts, which have also seen Lorraine halved to 30 minutes and reduced to term-time broadcasts.

In May, ITV confirmed that production of Good Morning Britain will shift to a dedicated team at ITV News, while Loose Women, Lorraine, and This Morning will merge behind-the-scenes teams to save costs.

But industry insiders warn that these measures will likely spell the end for Loose Women.

An ITV spokesperson said: “The Loose Women team is still working on the show and its content for next year.”

On screen, viewers will see huge changes to the daytime schedule. Lorraine is the worst hit. It will run for 30 weeks, not 50 weeks a year, and will be slashed from an hour to 30 minutes each day.

Loose Women will stay at the same running time but will also be cut to 30 weeks. This Morning will remain the same length and frequency.

The Loose Women panel, including Coleen Nolan, GK Barry and Frankie Bridge, are also expected to see shifts dwindle, especially those who live outside London and charge for travel and hotels. Glam squads are also expected to be axed with stars expected to use in-house make-up.

Meanwhile Good Morning Britain will be extended by 30 minutes, to run from 6am to 9.30am. For the 22 weeks of the year Lorraine is not airing, it will go on until 10am.

Speaking about the huge cuts, an insider recently told The Mirror: “It’s not a case of viewers seeing less of their shows… it’s impossible to see how the high standards will remain the same.

“Some staff believe Loose Women and Lorraine in particular will enter a death spiral… it’s just so sad. Just a handful of people will be working on each of those two programmes which has huge ramifications for how they are going forward.”

The show favourite opened up about the future of the panel show and what it means for her

Linda Robson says she’s “worried” about the future of Loose Women as ITV look to make huge savings across its daytime shows. In May it was revealed the much-loved panel show would be axed for half the year as bosses eyed up massive cuts in a bid to save millions.

Birds Of A Feather star Linda, who’s appeared on the show for 20 years, says the threat to its future has left her “praying” it doesn’t get cancelled. “We are all rallying together,” she said. It’s been reported that when budget cuts come into effect in January it’ll mean the show will no longer have A-list guests in the studio and their live audience will be a thing of the past.

There are growing fears the ITV staple could even be cancelled within a year. “It will be very sad if we can’t have guests,” sighed Linda, 67.

ITV is slashing the budgets of its biggest daytime shows including Good Morning Britain, Lorraine, Loose Women and This Morning, including halving the number of jobs and significantly reducing the time some of them are on air. The cuts at ITV Studios, which makes all four shows, mean more than 220 of 440 staff involved will lose their jobs.

“It’s a shame people are losing their jobs,” Linda went on. “We’re all like a family. We’ve been together through births, marriages, deaths. It’s been very hard. Everyone’s worried about the show. We’re just trying to stay positive and hope for the best. But hopefully it’s not going be as bad as it already is.”

The show features a rotating panel of presenters who debate hot topics, big issues and the news of the day. It’s welcomed huge names on as guests like supermodel Naomi Campbell and singer Janet Jackson.

Running since 1999, it is filmed in front of a live studio audience – although recent reports suggest that this has now been cut and will be implemented next year. ITV haven’t confirmed the move.

Fellow Loose Women presenter Nadia Sawalha previously told how everyone was now fearing for their jobs. “What people don’t realise at Loose Women is that we’re self-employed,” she explained.

“I am self-employed. Every contract is a new contract. I could be let go tomorrow. I could be let go in five years. You don’t know because we’re not employees.”

Looking back at her time on the long-running show – famous for debating debate hot topics, big issues and the news of the day – Linda explained why she’s been perfect for the panel.

“I’ve got a loose mouth,” she laughed on the red carpet of the National Reality TV Awards in London. “I’m always getting told not to swear in my ear. They try and stop me from doing it. I’m under Baggy Mouth in the group chat.”
