Exclusive: Janice Dickinson sues ITV over I’m A Celebrity accident while walking to the loo

American supermodel Janice Dickinson, 70, tripped over a cable in the Kruger National Par while filming the All Stars series of I’m A Celebrity – falling face-first to the ground

A former I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! contestant has launched legal action after a nasty accident on the show.

Supermodel Janice Dickinson is suing ITV bosses over a horror fall on I’m A Celebrity.

The 70-year-old was forced to quit the show after suffering an injury while filming the South African edition of the reality programme in 2023.

The American model and businesswoman tripped over a cable in the Kruger National Park, falling face-first to the ground, it was reported. The nasty accident was said to have left her with a head wound, a black eye and fears of a skull fracture before she was rushed to hospital.

Doctors later ruled out a break, but Dickinson was forced to pull out of the All Stars version of the show, which was hosted bytelly favourites Ant & Dec. She has now filed a personal injury claim against ITV, seeking damages at the High Court.

The documents – which list it as a personal injury claim – were filed on September 19. Dickinson’s representative, Dermot McNamara, confirmed a claim has been issued at the High Court, in relation to her appearance on the show. He said she “looks forward to giving her full account in due course”.

Limited details are available, but it says: Dickinson v ITV Studios Limited. It is not clear how much she is seeking, but it could be hundreds of thousands of pounds.

Speaking after her ordeal, the self-proclaimed “world’s first supermodel” recalled the moment she was reunited with her husband, Robert Gerner.

She said: “My husband’s face didn’t budge when he saw me – it was probably like waking up and seeing me every morning with this wrinkly old pruney face “But he held my hand really tight so I knew something must be up.”

Although she called it an “honest accident”, Dickinson confirmed ITV had paid her medical bills in Los Angeles, where she underwent intensive laser treatment with a skin specialist.

She added: “If you look really closely now, there’s still an indentation on my forehead, which I don’t think will ever fill out.

The star insisted she wanted to return to the camp but admitted production made the right call in keeping her out.

She added: “I was in shock even a day after. I think people in the campsite couldn’t have handled it.”

Dickinson, who was a household name in the 1970s and 1980s and later became a judge on America’s Next Top Model, said she was devastated to leave the show.

She said: “Even when I was on a stretcher, I was crying: ‘I came here to win this contest’.” The larger-than-life star added: “Emotions were at a high. I was crying and laughing and peeing on myself at the same time. It was terrible – and I’d done some horrible trials, but none as horrible as that fall.”

Dickinson’s agent and an ITV spokesperson declined to comment.

  • Sarah Ferguson ‘in hell’ as pal shares response to charity axe over Epstein emails

Sarah Ferguson ‘in hell’ as pal shares response to charity axe over Epstein emails

Lizzie Cundy appeared on The Jeremy Vine Show today to defend her friend Sarah Ferguson as pressure mounts on Prince Andrew’s ex-wife to be stripped of her titles over her emails to late paedophile Jeffrey Epstein

A friend of Sarah Ferguson has revealed Prince Andrew’s ex-wife is “devastated” and “in hell” after being dropped by multiple charities in the wake of her latest scandal.

The Teenage Cancer Trust has dropped the Duchess of York as patron after 35 years following the disclosure of an email to paedophile financier Jeffrey Epstein in which she described him as a “supreme friend”.

Several charities severed ties with the duchess on Monday after it emerged she apologised to the sex offender in April 2011 after publicly disowning him in the media.

Speaking on The Jeremy Vine Show this morning, Lizzie Cundy opened up about her friend’s current state of mind and revealed she had spoken to her via her assistant since the news broke over the weekend.

Cundy said Ferguson is in a “terrible way” at the moment and has deep regrets over being friends with Epstein. “I’m afraid, he is a toxic person – even from the grave,” she commented.

While there have been calls for Sarah to be stripped of her Duchess of York title, Cundy believes that the royal should “lay low” and “let this die down”. She said: “This is a shock, but he was so aggressive, so unpleasant, I think if anyone, if you thought your family could get hurt and bring your family down, what would you do?”

“The fact is when she did condemn him, which she did publicly, it got very nasty. He got huge lawyers onto her as well. She thought she was going to be embarrassed, not only her own family but the rest of the Royal Family,” Cundy said when trying to defend her pal.

When MP Dawn Butler asked whether a private email would have been enough to resolve the matter, questioning why Ferguson would be scared of legal action from a convicted sex offender, Cundy mused: “She felt she could calm the situation by trying to appease him. Kind of saying ‘Look, I didn’t actually call you a paedophile,’ I said ‘paedophilia is abhorrent’, that’s what she said, she was trying to calm him and stroke his ego.”

“Sarah is absolutely devastated about losing the charities,” Cundy also shared on the Channel 5 show. “Especially the cancer one, herself had a cancer diagnosis recently, She’s absolutely devastated. She’s a human being, a mother, she’s going through hell.”

In a statement, the Teenage Cancer Trust said: “We have made the decision to end our relationship with the Duchess of York, and as of today she is no longer a patron of Teenage Cancer Trust. We have communicated this decision to the Duchess. We would like to thank the Duchess of York for her support.”

The charity’s announcement followed similar statements from Wiltshire and Dorset-based children’s hospice Julia’s House, Prevent Breast Cancer, and The Natasha Allergy Research Foundation, who all cut ties with the duchess on Monday. The British Heart Foundation also said the duchess was no longer a serving ambassador for the charity.

Julia’s House was the first to announce its decision to end its association with the duchess, saying it would be “inappropriate for her to continue as a patron of the charity” – citing her correspondence with Epstein as a deciding factor.

Prevent Breast Cancer, which the duchess became a patron of last year, also announced it was cutting ties with her. She joined forces with the charity following her own experience with breast cancer in 2023, but a spokeswoman confirmed she was no longer a patron and thanked her for her work.

Food allergy charity The Natasha Allergy Research Foundation also announced it had dropped the duchess as a patron, with the founders saying they were “disturbed” to read her correspondence with Epstein.

The charity, which was launched after teenager Natasha Ednan-Laperouse died from a severe allergic reaction to eating a baguette, asked the duchess to become a patron when it was founded in 2019.

The resurfaced email from Ferguson to Epstein stemmed from an interview with the Evening Standard on March 7, 2011, in which she apologised for accepting £15,000 from the sex offender.

PA)During the interview, she told the newspaper: “I abhor paedophilia and any sexual abuse of children and know that this was a gigantic error of judgment on my behalf. I am just so contrite I cannot say. Whenever I can, I will repay the money and have nothing ever to do with Jeffrey Epstein ever again.”

A little over a month later, Ferguson sent a message to Epstein, in which she said: “I know you feel hellaciously let down by me. And I must humbly apologise to you and your heart for that. You have always been a steadfast, generous and supreme friend to me and my family.”

It continued: “I was advised in no uncertain terms, to have nothing to do with you and to not speak or email you. And if I did — I would cause more problems to you, the Duke and myself. I was broken and lost. So please understand. I didn’t want to hurt Andrew one more time. I was in over-riding fear. I am sorry.”

Ferguson’s spokesman previously said she had spoken of her regret about her association with Epstein and “does not resile” from condemning him publicly. He added that Epstein had threatened to sue her for defamation for associating him with paedophilia.

Epstein was found dead in his cell at a federal jail in Manhattan, in the US, in August 2019 while he awaited trial on sex-trafficking charges. The death was ruled a suicide.

Dani Dyer quits Strictly after breaking ankle in training with heartbreaking statement

Strictly Come Dancing has been hit with a massive blow after a celebrity was forced to withdraw through injury before the live shows begin

Strictly Come Dancing has been plunged into chaos on the eve of the first live show after Dani Dyer was forced to withdraw through injury.

Dani took to social media to share her devastation of the news in an emotional statement. And the news was met with sorrow from her fellow dancers on the hit BBC show.

Taking to Instagram, Dani, 29, said: “I had a fall on Friday in rehearsals and landed funny. I thought I had rolled my foot but it swelled up badly over the weekend and after an MRI scan yesterday, it turns out I have fractured my ankle.

“Apparently doing the quickstep on a fracture is not advisable (!!) and the doctors have said I am not allowed to dance so l’ve had to pull out of the show. To say I’m heartbroken is the biggest understatement. I am so going to miss dancing with Nikita but will of course be watching closely and cheering all the couples on.”

Following the news, Sarah James, Executive Producer, BBC Studios added: “Dani has brought so much passion, joy and enthusiasm to Strictly, and her partnership with Nikita was off to the most sensational start.

“Everyone on the show is incredibly sad that she’s no longer able to compete in this year’s series. We send her all our love and best wishes for a swift recovery, and we very much hope to welcome her back to the ballroom in the future.”

BBC Strictly and Dani both shared the sad news on Instagram, with fans and viewers quickly sharing their devastation at the announcement. Among them was professional dancer Amy Dowden, who is paired with Tom Skinner on the show.

She wrote in the comments section: “Sending you so much love and a speedy recovery @danidyerxx absolutely gutted for you and @nikita__kuzmin.” Tasha Ghouri also commented, saying: “Sending love to you @danidyerxx!! I hope you have a speedy recovery,” alongside love heart emojis.

Judge Shirley Ballas also shared her sorrow, penning: “I’m so so sorry. But health is most important. Get well soon Angel.” And fellow dancer Johannes Radebe also said: “Gutted for you both, take care of yourself.”

PA)As the comments continued to pour in, Nancy Xu said: “Ohhh nooo!!!! I’m so sorry Dani and Nikiii. Hope you’re getting better soon @danidyerxx. sending all my love.” Dani’s famous father Danny Dyer also posted a heartbreak emoji as he reacted to the news.

Dani had been paired with Nikita Kuzmin for the upcoming series. She had taken to Instagram at the weekend to share her delight at the link-up. She wrote: “So happy to finally say… my partner is Nikita!

“Honestly couldn’t be happier, he’s already been so patient with me (thank god). Can’t believe the first live show is next week! Wish me luck.”

It remains to be seen who will pair with the Ukrainian for the upcoming series or if Dani will even be replaced. When a star pulls out before the series starts, the BBC show will draft in a new contestant to replace them. With Dani pulling out just days before the first live show, it is not yet known whether another celebrity will stand in last minute.

It is possible that Dani could be replaced as the official show has yet to begin. Previously, Kelvin Fletcher was drafted in for Jamie Laing, and Kelvin went on to win the BBC show.

Dani and Nikita appeared together on Saturday’s launch show. The video showed the pair’s excitement at being partners, but it was pre-recorded before her accident took place.

Just days earlier, Dani had been addressing the dreaded “Strictly curse” months after tying the knot with Premier League footballer Jarrod Bowen. She explained that the West Ham and England star, 28, was “so chill” and not worried about her taking part in the show, insisting “there is no Strictly curse”.

The Strictly curse refers to a belief that the show can lead to the breakdown of a contestant’s existing romantic relationship. It’s reported that over the show’s 20-year run, it has led to the breakdown of at least 21 relationships.

Dani, whose dad is EastEnders star Danny Dyer, rose to fame on Love Island in 2018. She won the show alongside ex-boyfriend Jack Fincham and his since gone on to become a popular reality TV figure.

Three years later, Dani met Jarrod after they became neighbours and he would often take parcels for her. Speaking on Giovanna Fletcher’s Happy Mum Happy Baby podcast earlier this year, Dani shared the unusual story of how they got together.

This Morning’s Ben Shephard forced to apologise as Lulu swears during sad admission

This Morning’s Ben Shepard had to apologise when Lulu swore live on air and dropped the F-bomb during her appearance on Wednesday’s edition of the ITV magazine programme

This Morning’s Ben Shephard has apologised after singer Lulu swore live on air. The singer, 76, made an appearance on Wednesday’s edition of the ITV magazine show to talk about her past struggles with alcoholism, but had to be interrupted when she accidentally used the profane language.

She told Ben and his co-host Cat Deeley: “It was never bad because I was never a fall-down drunk. My son didn’t know, he said ‘Wait a minute, Mum, are you sure…’ and Elton [John] said ‘How the f*** did I miss that?’”

Ben immediately cut in with: “Elton has an interesting vocabulary, we need to be quite careful because it’s quite early. Apologies, you’ll understand that it was Elton saying that and not Lulu.”

In response, Lulu said: “I’m so sorry, I am so sorry. Also, it’s me trying to push the story. How did I miss that?”

The Shout singer, who has now been sober for more than a decade, recalled not being able to know when enough was enough even though she seemed to manage to function in every day life.

She added: “I was very secretive, I was so ashamed of it. I would go out and have a drink, a couple of drinks. I would go home, and have another drink. You know you’re an alcoholic if you can’t stop. I have a lot of friends who have a drink and say ‘Oh I’ve had enough,’ but I couldn’t do that.

“I was a highly-functioning alcoholic, that’s why nobody knew. I would fall asleep sozzled. I’d set the alarm, wake up for work the next day, brush myself off and go to work.

My niece said ‘Oh so and so, he’s hanging on by his fingernails,’ talking about his problem with alcohol, and I don’t know where it came from, I said ‘He’s not the only one’.

“My sister said very kindly, ‘I know, and I’ve known for some time’. The cat was out of the bag, it was if someone up there liked me, I now had to get sharing. I couldn’t ask for help before but in that moment I looked at my sister and said ‘I have to go to rehab, don’t I?’ She said ‘I think so.’

In what can only be described as the greatest unraveling of a modern-day fairytale, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s seven-year anniversary has become a spectacle of satire, scrutiny, and relentless public mockery. Once dubbed the golden couple poised to modernize the monarchy, they are now a cautionary tale of what happens when celebrity ambition eclipses authenticity.

From Royal Grace to Instagram Facade

Meghan Markle wants to cause ‘maximum damage’ ahead of coronation

The tone of their union has shifted drastically. Gone are the days when the world applauded Meghan as the refreshing face of the monarchy. Now, mood boards, curated collages, and filtered snapshots of red-headed toddlers facing away from the camera dominate her media presence. Instead of being celebrated for transparency, Meghan has fueled endless speculation around her pregnancies, her children, and even the authenticity of her marriage.

What should have been a sweet anniversary tribute turned into a parade of suspect images—digitally altered, low-resolution photos that reignited conspiracy theories surrounding “moon bumps” and surrogacy. The irony? Meghan could easily shut these rumors down with clear, unedited images. But she won’t. Because controlling the narrative is the strategy—even if the narrative now paints her as disingenuous.

    The Emasculation of Prince Harry

Harry and Meghan: Did Buckingham Palace PLANT NEGATIVE STORIES about Netflix couple?

At the heart of this spectacle is Prince Harry, once the cheeky, brave heart of the royal family. Today, he is often depicted as a broken man—emotionally neutered and publicly diminished. His face, once radiating mischief and confidence, now reads weariness and detachment. Royal commentators and viewers alike note the contrast between earlier photos brimming with genuine affection and more recent ones that feel strained and performative.

The accusation that Meghan has “emasculated” Harry has become more than tabloid fodder—it’s a conversation across global media. From making him her podcast footnote to reportedly banning any major presence of him in her upcoming projects, Meghan has turned Harry from prince to prop.

    From Oprah to Obscurity

The damage to Harry’s standing didn’t stem solely from Meghan. His tell-all memoir Spare delivered blow after blow to the monarchy, crossing every red line his family had laid out. Attacks on his stepmother, Camilla; allegations involving his sister-in-law, Kate; and deeply personal betrayals of his own brother William have put him beyond the royal pale.

And while Meghan launched accusations of racism in her infamous Oprah interview, it was Harry’s complicity and follow-up media behavior that severed the final threads holding him to his former world.

Meghan’s “Power of Yet” — Or “Power of Yawn”?

Meghan Markle & Prince Harry: Trying to monetise the monarchy - YouTube

Perhaps no moment better encapsulates the absurdity of Meghan’s rebrand than her now-viral “Power of Yet” speech from a podcast interview. Delivering recycled TED Talk platitudes with forced emotion and calculated pauses, Meghan attempted to frame her stalling brand as simply “not-yet realized greatness.”

Except the phrase was ripped off from a 2014 TED talk by psychologist Carol Dweck. And instead of inspiring listeners, it became a meme. One viral tweet summarized it best: “The only thing Meghan has yet to do is stop embarrassing herself.”

Her podcast—despite tens of millions in promotion and access to A-list names—tanked. It didn’t just fail to break into the top 10; it fell out of the charts entirely. The reason? A lack of originality, coupled with Meghan’s obsessive image curation, repelled listeners in an age where authenticity rules.

Chrissy Teigen: Meghan’s Newest “Sister in Scandal”

In a desperate attempt to gain relevance, Markle has now enlisted Chrissy Teigen—a woman widely condemned for her history of cyberbullying—as the headline guest for Season 2 of With Love, Meghan. This partnership raised immediate eyebrows. Teigen, once dubbed “Twitter’s mean girl,” faced backlash for targeting a teenage Courtney Stodden with suicidal messages. Meghan, who has cut off family members and old friends for far less, now publicly embraces Teigen in what critics call a “bullies unite” alliance.

The hypocrisy couldn’t be more blatant: Meghan campaigns against online hate while platforming a notorious online aggressor. If this is the brand’s revival strategy, it reeks of desperation.

Cozying Up to the Wrong Crowd

Perhaps more damning is Meghan’s recent attempt to cozy up to Beyoncé and Jay-Z. Once snapped at the Lion King premiere alongside the music royalty, Meghan was swiftly ghosted after revealing a private text from Beyoncé in her Netflix series. In a world of brand integrity and controlled narratives, that’s a cardinal sin.

To add insult to injury, the timing couldn’t be worse. Jay-Z is rumored to be nervously monitoring the P. Diddy trial—a scandal with explosive implications for anyone even loosely associated. Meghan, either tone-deaf or blinded by star power, keeps trying to insert herself into circles that no longer welcome her.

The Fallacy of Self-Help Faux Depth

From emailing her kids every night (yes, really) to sprinkling dried flowers for “magic,” Meghan’s public persona is a Pinterest board trapped in 2012. What once could have been perceived as charming quirkiness now comes across as contrived and outdated.

Even the most ardent defenders are finding it hard to justify her behavior. When media allies begin to mock her—like the hosts who ridiculed her “emails to the kids” segment—it signals the tide has turned. Meghan’s faux-vulnerability, teary confessions, and phony self-help jargon are no longer winning hearts. They’re generating eye rolls.

Where Does It Go From Here?

There’s no denying that Meghan Markle is a brand in crisis—and Prince Harry is collateral damage. From high-profile partnerships to grassroots sentiment, the collapse is unfolding in real time. Hollywood’s elite no longer see her as “in.” Royal insiders have shut the door. And the public? They’ve tuned out.

Yet Meghan continues, arms outstretched, toward a spotlight that continues to shrink.

Dame Kelly Holmes has revealed how she was forced to slow down this year after feeling extreme burnout amid her busy schedule.

The Olympian, 55, who is known for her impressive career as a middle distance runner, admitted to Mirror that a busy year last year left her unable to carry on. “I was travelling all over the world, often doing five or six speaking engagements a week, I had my big 20-year medal celebrations and visiting Machu Picchu for charity. But burnout is a big issue for me, by January I could feel something wasn’t right health wise,” she explained.

Kelly, who is now a regular on the Loose Women panel, continued, “I took it as a sign that, while last year was amazing, I overdid it, and I couldn’t do the same this year.

“I can’t jump out of bed every day full of energy, and not every day is motivating. If I’m not feeling up to it, I don’t need to run the half-marathon, for example, I’d rather be there in full spirit and energising everybody else.”

Explaining that the time enjoying a slower pace of life has been one she’s enjoyed, Kelly said: “I’ve been able to look at every part of how I deal with things now, and that’s a real strength. Over the last four or five months, I think I’ve spent more timeat home than I have in years. I love being out in the garden – and with my alpacas!”

However, as Kelly says she still aims for 12,500 steps a day, often takes part in parkruns and keeps her nutrition in check, it’s clear she’s still more active than many.

She said: “I try to move every day, and that might be walking to a job rather than getting an Uber, because I’ll get my steps in and I can people watch! I use it as a wellbeing tool to make me feel good about myself. On a weekend, we might go paddleboarding or on a dog walk or meet up with friends.”

And adding another thing to her busy roster, Kelly is the official ambassador for vitamin brand Solgar’s wellness partnership with The AJ Bell Great Run series this summer.

“I’m a huge fan of inspiring and motivating people to keep fit and moving in their lives – especially as we get older. Fitness has always been part of my life, but I’m at a point where I really understand the need for us to look at our overall wellbeing.

“So I’ve been going to the runs and it’s just been the best. I’ve seen people of all ages getting their moment when they cross the finish line,” she said of the partnership.

Kelly added: “Also, I’ve seen a huge amount of young women, in their mid-to-late twenties, taking part – more than I’d normally see. It was so positive to see that generation into their fitness and not being embarrassed or worried about the old vision of what women “should” look like. It’s changed, athletic, strong bodies are seen as beautiful now.

Andrea McLean became emotional during an appearance on Channel 5 talk show Vanessa yesterday as she reflected on the painful aftermath of her divorces. When asked whether divorce makes people happier, the Loose Women star gave a painfully honest response, saying her world “broke apart” after her first marriage ended.

She appeared to tear up as she tried to answer the question, before saying : “I was sitting here quietly thinking, oh boy, oh boy. I’ve been married three times. On the current Mr McLean — sorry Nick, I’m only joking — he’s currently the longest-serving husband, so I’m doing really well with this one.”

McLean, 54, explained that while she can joke about it now, divorce has been one of the most painful experiences of her life. “It’s awful. It’s really awful,” she said.

“I married my childhood sweetheart the first time around. We met at school. I sat behind him in geography and thought he was lovely. We were together for a really long time, and when that ended, my world broke apart. It was horrific. I became agoraphobic, I couldn’t leave the house. I felt such a sense of loss.”

Her second divorce, from Our House co-presenter Steve Toms, also left her with deep emotional wounds. She added: “There was such a sense of shame because I’d done it again, you know?”

In the end, McLean met her current husband Nick Feeney on a blind date she hadn’t wanted to go on. “I thought, I’m clearly not cut out for this, so what’s the point? I’d rather be at home,” she confessed.

But over time, and after turning to practical methods for healing by enrolling in an agricultural college for a garden design course, she started to rebuild her confidence.

The presenter spoke about why going back into education helped her so much, explaining: “It was something physical, it had nothing to do with romance. That massively helped. By the time we met, I was me.”

Many fans praised McLean for her vulnerability after the clip was posted on Instagram. One person wrote: “Divorce broke apart my world too — you lose every sense of yourself and have to work so hard to find out who you are now.”

Another encouraged her, saying: “You two are such a lovely couple… the other two rings were just warm-ups for the main event.”

Andrea has previously opened up about how her health affected her relationships. On Giovanna Fletcher’s Happy Mum Happy Baby podcast, she recalled being diagnosed with endometriosis in her late 20s while in a long-term relationship with Nick Green.

When she brought up the possibility that she might be infertile, he responded saying he wasn’t even sure if he wanted to marry her. After 11 years together she decided that wasn’t good enough and gave him six months to decide whether to commit to her or walk away.

They married in Kenya in 2000 and welcomed their son Finlay in 2001, but later divorced in 2005. Now McLean has been happily married to Feeney since 2017.

Loose Women star Kaye Adams revealed she had a few ‘sleepless nights’ after ITV announced changes to the daytime programmes. The ITV programme will be cut to just 30 weeks of the year and the team behind Lorraine, This Morning and Loose Women will all be merged, which will lead to redundancies at ITV.

Lorraine Kelly’s show is also being cut to 30 minutes and will air 30 weeks of the year. As a result, Good Morning Britain will be extended until 9.30am each day. Some of the Loose Women stars have yet to speak out, but Nadia Sawalha and Kaye recently broke their silence to share their thoughts on the changes.

“What has been brutal over the past week and I am getting tearful about it, is that hundreds of people are going to be made redundant out of the blue,” Nadia said in a recent YouTube video.

Meanwhile, Kaye took to her How to be 60 podcast and said the cuts “came out of the blue”. The 62-year-old admitted: “I didn’t anticipate it, which is probably stupid in retrospect. You get into a sort of rhythm of life.

“I had a couple of sleepless nights I have to say, because it’s just like the rug’s been pulled from under your feet – what has been familiar.”

Nadia also recently broke her silence

She continued: “It’s going to have an impact. Lots of people will lose their jobs completely which is terrible. It’s a huge change. But I gave myself a talking to and I listened to my own advice for once – change is hard, but it can be good.

“The past is a trap, don’t fear the future – I’m telling myself all these things. And maybe this is the nudge that I needed to make some changes in my life and I’ll just have to go with it.”

Nadia spoke out about the cuts last week and told her fans that some people behind the scenes “are really suffering”.

She explained: “What you don’t realise is when you attack the show you attack them, because you never see all the army of people behind the scenes and how hard they work.

“So to all my friends and colleagues behind the scenes who have just got a huge shock out of the blue, I’m so sorry. Mark knows how upset I’ve been at home about it. I just can’t bear it. So just be f*****g kind to people.”

She then added: “What people don’t realise at Loose Women is that we’re self-employed, I am self-employed. Every contract is a new contract. I could be let go tomorrow, in five years, you don’t know because we’re not employees.

“So I can’t tell you anything accept I am on for my next contract. What has been brutal over the past week and I am getting tearful about it, is that hundreds of people are going to be made redundant out of the blue.

Andrea McLean has opened up about a symptom she’s faced in the aftermath of her pneumonia battle. The 55-year-old TV star was struck by a severe flu-like illness before collapsing at her home in December.

Andrea was promptly rushed to the hospital, where she was diagnosed with acute kidney injury and sepsis, as well as intense pneumonia, significantly impacting her lung capacity. While she’s now mostly recovered and has returned to life as usual, some things don’t quite seem like they used to.

En route to her first live TV appearance in a while, Andrea posted to Instagram and shared her symptoms with fans. “On my way to do my first live television for a long time,” she said.

“I won’t lie, I’m nervous. I’m looking forward to it, because I love doing telly stuff, but because it’s been a while I’m a bit scared. I know it’s because I care and I want to do a good job and not look stupid, which is absolutely normal. I’m nervouscited.

“We all feel like this. It’ll be fine once I’m doing it. Deep down I know it will.” However, later, she added: “I also seem to look permanently dishevelled!

“I have lost quite a lot of hair with Covid and the strong medication after pneumonia and it doesn’t seem to behave like it used to. I’m embracing it as there’s not much else I can do. There’s a kind of freedom to that too. I’m liking the rebellion of it.”

Following her pneumonia diagnosis, Andrea spent several days in the hospital. She described the experience as a ‘sensory overload’, replete with glaring lights, incessant screaming, shouting, and an almost constant ‘smell of poo’.

The TV star was also left ‘terrified’ by the behaviour of other patients in her ward, including six women who seemed to have dementia. Some were incredibly distressed by her presence, with one demanding to know why Andrea was there and repeatedly pulling on her ‘flimsy’ bed curtain.

In a Substack post, she recounted the experience: “I hadn’t left my bed for four days, but time didn’t seem to pass in the normal way. My heightened senses were overloaded with constant noise and smells that I couldn’t block out.”

She found it difficult to sleep in this ward and even asked hospital staff if she could continue treatment at home. Despite some resistance, medics eventually agreed she could go to sleep but must return every day for drips, tests and medication, according to SurreyLive.

In her blog, she added: “Note to self; being a big brave girl and not saying how much pain you’re in when you’ve lost 80% capacity in one of your lungs to severe pneumonia and infection is not a smart move.”

Kaye Adams has spoken for the first time after it was announced ITV are planning a major shake-up to their schedules, meaning Loose Women won’t air all year round

Kaye Adams had “sleepless nights” after hearing Loose Women is being cut by ITV. It was announced last month that the network had planned a major shake-up.

Some of the network’s biggest programmes, including Loose, Good Morning Britain, and Lorraine, will be affected, while This Morning remains untouched. While Lorraine and Loose currently air all year round, they will now be cut and broadcast for just 30 weeks.

Lorraine has suffered another blow, with her show being cut by half an hour while Good Morning Britain is extended. Now, Kaye has revealed that the dramatic news came “out of the blue” for her in a bombshell admission.

The 62-year-old also admits she has no idea what will happen with her job or her fellow panellists in the wake of the dramatic cuts. “To be perfectly honest, we have no idea at this point, what’s going to happen,” Kaye said. She went on to reveal that she didn’t “anticipate” the news.

Speaking on her How To Be 60 podcast with Karen MacKenzie, Kay continued: “I didn’t anticipate it, which is probably stupid in retrospect, you get into a sort of rhythm of life. I had a couple of sleepless nights, I have to say, because it’s just like the rug’s been pulled from under your feet – what has been familiar.

“It’s going to have an impact. Lots of people will lose their jobs completely which is terrible, it’s a huge change.” But despite the shake-up, the broadcaster is trying to remain positive. She explained that it would allow her to “make some changes.” Currently, Kaye travels to London from Glasgow on a regular basis and often takes the sleeper train.

She went on to add: “But I gave myself a talking to and I listened to my own advice for once – change is hard, but it can be good. The past is a trap, don’t fear the future – I’m telling myself all these things. And I think maybe this is the nudge that I needed to make some changes in my life and I’ll just have to go with it.”

Prior to the news, Kaye revealed she had been planning on downsizing and moving into a smaller home, but now jokes that she may find herself in a one-bedroom flat. “And now I’ve lost my job, I might be in a one-bedroom flat somewhere,” she commented.

Kaye, however, isn’t the first Loose panellist to open up about the cuts. Actress Nadia Sawalha, who has appeared on the show since its launch in 1999, recently admitted she is self-employed so could be “let go tomorrow.” Some of the panellists work on a freelance basis, while others are on a PAYE contract with the network.

Speaking to her husband Mark Adderley on their joint YouTube page, the former EastEnders star said: “Do you know what, at the moment, all of us on screen are in work and are proud of what we do.

“But behind the scenes, there are people that are really suffering, and what you don’t realise is when you attack the show, you attack them, because you never see all the army of people behind the scenes and how hard they work.” Nadia became visibly emotional as she struggled to contain her upset.

While holding back tears, she said: “So to all my friends and colleagues behind the scenes who have just got a huge shock out of the blue, I’m so sorry.” She added that she “just can’t bear it,” and urged people to “be f***ing kind to people.” She explained that due to being self-employed, she risks being let go “tomorrow” or “in five years.”

She became tearful as she explained that dozens of people will be “made redundant out of the blue” and has seen people walking around “numb with shock.”
