Christine Lampard made a surprise admission about her husband Frank during Wednesday’s (5 March) episode of Loose Women. The TV presenter was back on the panel for another instalment of the daytime show, with her footballer husband being brought up in conversation.

The panel discussed Frank’s intelligence, questioning if Christine is as clever as her husband. The topic arose after it was revealed Frank once took an IQ test and scored very high.

“When he was playing at Chelsea, they made all of the players do an IQ test. It was actually just a foundation kind of IQ measurement in case there was a head injury playing the sport, so they could do another test later on,” Christine explained to her co-stars.

She admitted: “He completed smashed it. He did brilliantly in it. Some big high score. Mensa almost picking up the phone!”

Christine’s co-star Denise Welch then brought up Frank’s GCSE results, revealing she’d previously been informed that he achieved an A* in Latin and completed the qualification a year before his peers.

“Yes he’s got an A* in Latin,” Christine said, jokingly rolling her eyes. “I am joking. He is good at working things out. I understand why he does well on these kind of tests.”

Frank, who is now the head coach at Coventry City FC, has an IQ of 150, putting him in the top one to two percent of the country. He has previously opened up about taking the test during his time at Chelsea, revealing the opportunity arose after his team mate John Terry suffered concussion in 2007.

He told the Coventry Telegraph: “I just breezed it. I was at Chelsea and it was in the aftermath of JT getting kicked in the head in the Carabao Cup final. Our doctor, who was Brian English at the time, made us do IQ tests to get us a base level of IQ so we could be registered again if you have a concussion or a head injury.”

Asked about his high score, he said: “Other people were more interested in it than me, to be fair. I’m quite proud of it. It just beat my wife, Christine, which was the best thing about it. She was just below me. I don’t know the exact numbers. I think she’s around the same.”

Huw Edwards is yet to return any of his £200,000 salary to the BBC, bosses have revealed.

The disgraced BBC News presenter pleaded guilty to making indecent images of children and narrowly avoided jail. Last year, he was given six months’ imprisonment, suspended for two years, after pleading guilty to having made seven Category A indecent images of children – the worst type – as well as 12 Category B, and 22 Category C images.

In a case that shocked the country, Westminster Magistrates Court heard disturbing details of Edwards’ communications with convicted paedophile Alex Williams who, between the years 2018 and 2021, sent the once well-regarded journalist indecent images of children.

Edwards first joined the BBC as a trainee in 1984 and was once the corporation’s top-earning newsreader. He raked in between £475,000 and £479,999 for the fiscal year 2023/24, as per the BBC’s most recent annual report. Even after his arrest in November 2023, Edwards continued to be paid by the BBC right up until his resignation five months later. The BBC insisted they were demanding Edwards pay back his salary for that period – but he still hasn’t paid a penny.

A senior BBC executive has now said no talent is “untouchable” or “bigger than the BBC” after a string of high-profile former employees made headlines due to allegations about their behaviour while working at the corporation. BBC chairman Dr Samir Shah addressed the numerous reviews the corporation has had to conduct in the last few years into former presenters including Edwards, Russell Brand and Tim Westwood while appearing before the Culture, Media and Sport Committee on Tuesday.

He confirmed the corporation has not been able to recover any salary from former broadcaster Edwards yet, which he described as “quite frustrating”. After his guilty plea in July, the BBC asked him to return his salary, which he was paid during the period following his arrest in November 2023 until he resigned in April 2024.

Asked if they have been able to recover any salary from Edwards, Dr Shah said: “We have not. We’ve obviously asked, and we’ve said it many times, but he seems unwilling. There was a moment that we thought that he might just do the right thing for a change, then he decided not to.

He added: “It’s quite frustrating this, really, because I think he should have done it. He could still do it. It’s not right. He’s taken licence fee payers’ money and he knew what he’d done and he should return it now.” The BBC director general also confirmed the corporation has sought legal advice and there is nothing more it can do at this stage.

Dr Shah added: “No-one is untouchable. No-one is bigger than the BBC… It’s really, really important. It’s 2025, we can’t have this kind of behaviour and find it acceptable. It’s certainly true that, looking at Tim Westwood’s behaviour, that would not be possible now, but there are others. We just have to make sure that the BBC is a modern organisation. People who work for it feel able to voice their concerns, if they have any, and that they will be dealt with, and that no-one in the BBC is untouchable.” BBC director general Tim Davie agreed that the message to BBC staff is that “everyone is dispensable”.

She doesn’t want the added pressure to harm their relationship.”

While Casey has supposedly sworn off MIC, fans are more concerned with confirming that he won’t be back on Love Island for the fourth time after accusing the voting of being rigged. Thankfully, it seems none of the “sensitive” content was released, with the source adding: “It could have been a disaster – in the end all that happened was the thief messaged some of his famous friends and asked for money.”

Appearing on Loose Women alongside her husband, Olivia was comforted by host Christine Lampard after breaking down in tears as she spoke about the loss but the couple went on to share a video of themselves and Abel announcing that the other baby is a little girl.

Christine introduced the clip before applause rang out around the studio to congratulate the couple. Before they made news of the gender public they spoke about the early discovery that they were expecting twins when they went for a scan at just six weeks.

“I’m quite an anxious person anyway so I was like I’m going for a scan and you were all for it,” said Olivia, who has twins in her family. “I went into the room and as soon as I sat down I could see two babies and not just one and we were floored by that.”

She continued: “As soon as we found out it was twins I was already quite nervous because we’ve not had a great history of twins in our family but you were so positive weren’t you?” she said looking at Alex, who then spoke about how excited he had been at the prospect of being a dad to twins.

For two weeks the couple made plans for becoming a family of five as they looked at baby car seats and bedroom plans.

“We went back at eight weeks and something happened called vanishing syndrome,” said Olivia as she broke down in tears adding that one of the babies didn’t have a heartbeat.

“I’d had no symptoms, I’d had no pain, no bleeding, absolutely nothing to tell me that that was what we were walking into and I guess from that moment we were completely floored. We were expecting to have these two little babies. Vanishing twin syndrome – it can as it just says literally vanish. The one beautiful part of it that I try to hold on to is that they do absorb into your body, those cells become a part of you and that’s what I’ve sort of been holding on to.”

ITV)Olivia went on to say the scan was a “bittersweet rollercoaster of emotions” as they were also told the other baby was healthy and she said they’re “so excited” to meet their baby girl.

The pair are keen to raise the profile of miscarriage in the hope that others in a similar situation won’t be afraid to speak about their loss and grieve alone.

“It’s becoming easier by speaking about it with other women and that’s what we wanted to do and especially Alex being a dad as I haven’t seen many men talking about it – we just want to change that perception of not being able to talk about miscarriage openly.”

Loose Women star Denise Welch’s latest comment comes just days after she paid a sweet tribute to her son Matty Healy’s wife-to-be, model Gabbriette Bechtel

Denise Welch has made a rare comment about her future daughter-in-law Gabbriette Bechtel, following claims the model has already married her son Matty Healy.

The 1975 frontman, 35, who is Denise’s eldest son, and the 27-year-old got engaged back in May 2024.

Since then, rumours have swirled that the pair have already married in secret, though neither parties have confirmed this.

Now, Loose Women star Denise has appeared to confirm that the pair are still yet to tie the knot.

During the first episode of the show’s brand new podcast, the 66-year-old referred to Gabbriette as her “son’s fiancée” and not her daughter-in-law, as of yet.

In response to her co-star Ayda Field Williams, who had been discussing her husband Robbie Williams’ addiction woes, Denise said: “Oh, my son’s fiancée is going through a metal detecting stage.

“She’s not an addict, but she’s going through a metal detecting stage. Matt bought her one for Christmas.”

Denise has only shared brief details about her son’s relationship since confirming their engagement live on the show last year.

Speaking on Loose Women at the time, she said: “We couldn’t be happier. She is everything I would want in a daughter in law.”

The panellist went on to say she had known privately about their engagement for a “a few weeks” before the couple announced their news on Instagram.

Discussing how they celebrated, she told her co-stars: “We went over to LA to see Matty and Gabby and celebrate the engagement.

“Gabby is so busy modelling and she’s very hot right now, which is fabulous, so she couldn’t join us.

“So we went up to see her mum and dad, who we had met once before, Chayo and Gary, we absolutely adore them!”

Last week, Denise proved just how much she was a fan of Gabriette in a sweet tribute on Instagram.

As part of Milan Fashion Week, the model left very little to the imagination with her braless look, which consisted of a mesh long-sleeved top, a knee-length skirt and leather boots.

Sharing a snap of the model walking the catwalk, she gushed on Instagram: “My fabulous daughter-in-law to be @gabbriette walked for Fendi in Milan tonight,” alongside clapping hands and heart emojis.
