Exclusive: Brooklyn Beckham reveals his daily routine and it’s not something ordinary people will relate to

Brooklyn Beckham has shared an insight into his day-to-day life when he’s not busy working as he aims to make a name for himself in the world of motorsport

Brooklyn Peltz Beckham has revealed what a typical day looks like for him amid his latest career change.

The eldest son of David and Victoria Beckham has become a recognisable name in his own right over recent years, thanks to the 26-year-old’s love of changing jobs and his lavish 2022 wedding to actress and billionaire heiress Nicola Peltz Beckham

Brooklyn, who has now entered the world of motorsport, has faced criticism from some for driving expensive cars while struggling to hold a job down – with many branding him a nepo baby and wondering what he does day to day.

But now the former aspiring chef, 26, has revealed what a normal day looks like for him when he’s not on the track. During his stint at Formula E’s Evo Sessions at Miami International Autodrome, where celebrities get behind the wheel of the blistering GEN3 Evo race car, Brooklyn opened up about his daily routine.

“I wake up at 6am because my four dogs wake me up. I feed them, I go to the gym, I do an ice bath,” Brooklyn shared with the Mirror and other press on Wednesday night. “Sometimes, if I’m into a show – I’ll watch my show on a weekend if I’m not working – and then just hang out with with my wife and my dogs really. Sit by the fire and watch a movie or TV show.”

Brooklyn was speaking during a break from training as he hits pause on his culinary endeavours to dip his toes into motorsports. The star – who celebrated his birthday on the tracks – spilled the beans on the advice his football legend dad gave him and the cheeky reason his wife Nicola wouldn’t mind him racing full-time.

“Obviously, my dad was just like, ‘just be careful’,” Brooklyn recalled. “But it’s something that me and my dad have definitely bonded over, over the years. You know, we’re both into cars, both into racing – he’s really excited, and just said: ‘Be careful. You be careful and have fun’.”

Wife Nicola, 30, initially shared David’s safety concerns but had a swift change of tune seeing her beau in his racing gear. “[Nicola] was a little bit worried [about me doing this] but then she saw me in my race outfit and was like ‘You should do this as a job. You look really good’,” Brooklyn revealed amidst training sessions. “She was a little bit worried. But after she saw me, after I got out of the car, she was like: ‘You look really sexy!’ So I might be changing careers,” he quipped with a chuckle

Brooklyn joins the likes of football ace Sergio Agüero, Harry Potter star Tom Felton, and auto aficionado Supercar Blondie, all geared up to tackle the world of professional racing. The celebs will join elite squads and take to the tracks after intense training, simulator runs, and technical briefings.

Each celeb has been matched with a Formula E outfit and will be mentored by pro drivers from the electric street racing series. Fans can stay tuned for updates on all the thrills throughout this week across Formula E’s social media platforms and look forward to an exclusive documentary slated for release in 2025.

Regarding his participation in Evo Sessions with Formula E, Brooklyn expressed his enthusiasm: “I’ve loved motorsport all my life, so when the opportunity came to be a part of Evo Sessions with Formula E, I jumped at the chance. I love it as a sport, but it’s an incredible opportunity to actually get behind the wheel and experience what it takes to compete at the top level of motorsport. The performance of the cars is insane, so I’m pleased I’ll be learning from the best in how to get the most out of them.”

The Evo Sessions initiative offers a rare glimpse behind the scenes of the demanding Formula E circuit. It’s an innovative programme that slots celebrities into professional racing teams, illuminating the sheer talent, dedication, and herculean efforts required to excel in premier-level motorsport.

Matt Lucas hits back at BBC star’s claims and urges fans to ‘make your own minds up’

Little Britain star Matt Lucas has defended himself following criticism by Nihal Arthanayake over his behaviour towards a sign language interpreter at last year’s British Book Awards

Matt Lucas was slammed by a BBC radio presenter over his behaviour towards a sign language interpreter – but has hit back at the criticism.

BBC star Nihal Arthanayake claimed the comedian “took the p***” out of a British sign language interpreter while he was on stage at the 2024 British Book Awards. But, the Little Britain star has urged his followers to make up their own mind on his actions.

Nihal had said earlier on his own Instagram page: “I just wanted to tell a little story from the British Book Awards last year, where Matt Lucas went on stage and decided that it would be funny, in his mind, to take the p*** out of the British sign language interpreter that was on stage. It felt so awkward to be in the audience. Anyway, I was giving the award out afterwards, so I went on stage and the first thing I said was to the British sign language interpreter, ‘how do you sign Matt Lucas is a w***er?’ You can imagine how the audience reacted.”

However, Matt, 51, has seemingly denied any wrongdoing by sharing his speech on his Instagram Stories. In it, people can be heard laughing as Matt said: “So everyone’s talking about books, but I’m not going to do that. I’m going to do something instead that I’ve always wanted to do. So please indulge me for a moment.

He then made people look at the big screen which was split, showing him on one side and the interpreter on another. Matt went on: “If you just look at the screen, I’m going to say hello. I have a confession to make. I’m not actually a British Sign Language interpreter at all. I’m actually a convicted criminal. I know nothing of sign language. I’m literally just standing around here giving my arms around willy nilly.”

He then asked the interpreter to once again sign willy nilly. “Alright, let’s try some more. Armadillo, what’s armadillo?,” he joked. After sharing the clip, Matt posted another Story, saying: “Some stories have appeared today concerning an improvised comedy routine I did at the British Book Awards in May 2024. It was some lighthearted fun. I’m posting the routine here so you can all make your own minds up.

Kate Middleton set for huge appearance with King Charles after Palace update

It has been revealed that the Prince and Princess of Wales will join together with King Charles and Queen Camilla for one of the biggest events in the royal calendar next week

The Princess of Wales will join King Charles and Queen Camilla for one of the biggest events in the royal calendar next week.

It has been confirmed that along with Prince William, they will all be attending the annual Commonwealth Day service at Westminster Abbey on Monday. Both Kate and the King missed the major service last year after they were both diagnosed with cancer.

However, the princess has now confirmed she is in remission and is making a gradual return to public duties. Kate was diagnosed with cancer after having abdominal surgery at the start of last year and revealed at the end of March that she was undergoing chemotherapy.

She has carried out several engagements this year as she continues her return to public life, including visiting Pontypridd ahead of St David’s Day last week. It will be the biggest royal gathering for an event since Christmas Day

William, Kate, Charles and Camilla will also attend the service along with Princess Anne and the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester, Buckingham Palace announced. This year’s Commonwealth Day theme is “Together We Thrive”, which celebrates the “enduring spirit of the Commonwealth family”.

Charles, who is Head of the Commonwealth, gives an annual address each year to the family of 56 nations, but last year pre-recorded a video message after postponing his public-facing duties for around three months.

In his video message last year, he said: “In recent weeks, I have been most deeply touched by your wonderfully kind and thoughtful good wishes for my health and, in return, can only continue to serve you, to the best of my ability, throughout the Commonwealth.”

He added: “My belief in our shared endeavours and in the potential of our people remains as sure and strong as it has ever been. I have no doubt that we will continue to support one another across the Commonwealth as, together, we continue this vital journey.”

After Monday’s service, the King and Queen will then be the guests of the Commonwealth Secretary-General, Baroness Scotland, at the annual Commonwealth Day Reception at Marlborough House. There they will hear a song by Andrew Lloyd Webber to mark the inaugural Commonwealth Peace Prize.

Also earlier in the day, the King will officially launch the Commonwealth Sport King’s Baton Relay at Buckingham Palace for the Glasgow 2026 Games. The Games had been plunged into crisis when the previous 2026 hosts Victoria in Australia pulled out amid ballooning costs.

Australia has hosted the Commonwealth Games five times, including on the Gold Coast in 2018 and in the Victorian capital of Melbourne in 2006. However, it will now take place in Glasgow next summer after the Scottish city stepped in.

Prince William’s plea to protect NHS staff as he marks five years since Covid pandemic lockdown

Prince William marked five years since the start of the Covid-19 pandemic by visiting staff and volunteers at the Royal Berkshire Hospital’s Oasis Health and Wellbeing Centre and Garden

Prince William has thanked our NHS heroes for their bravery, as he marked the fifth anniversary of Covid.

During an emotional visit to a hospital that lost two members of beloved staff to coronavirus, the Prince of Wales paid tribute to their tireless efforts on the frontline and beyond. At the Royal Berkshire Hospital, William sat down with a group of nurses to discuss the impact of the pandemic on their work and wellbeing, telling them: “Remember you’re doing a really good job, thank you.”

March 11 will mark 5 years since the World Health Organization declared COVID-19 a global pandemic. What followed were months of lockdowns, social distancing and fear about this fast-spreading virus. Medical staff were rocked when the hospital became the epicentre of the disease with Britain’s first ever reported death from the disease in March 2020.

The prince said today he wanted to also “pay tribute” to nurse Julie Edward, who worked in the hospital’s complex orthopaedic and trauma unit and Dr Peter Tun, a consultant in neurorehabilitation, who both lost their lives while treating patients at the hospital. At the time, Julie’s daughter Ashley said she put her life “selflessly on the line for others”.

She said it was the perfect profession for someone so caring and friendly and that her mother was “always the star of the party”. Julie trained to be a nurse in her fifties and worked at the Royal Berkshire for many years.

Dr Tun, who came to the UK from Burma in 1994 and had worked at the hospital for more than 21 years before he was admitted to intensive care and died ages 62. In a statement after his sons they were “immensely proud” of his sacrifice, calling him “our superhero Dad”.

They added: “He used to say, ‘treat all your patients like they are your own family’ and this speaks to the type of character that he had. To us, he was simply the best human we know and we will miss him every day.”

A senior royal source said: “Today’s visit was of immense importance for the Prince of Wales to celebrate our NHS heroes and remember the sacrifices made by so many during the coronavirus crisis.”

The Prince of Wales returned to the hospital without his wife, Kate, having both visited in December 2020. After jointly becoming royal patrons for NHS Charities Together that year, the couple made the trip to Reading as part of their Whistlestop Royal Train Tour.

They embarked on a train tour of the UK to thank frontline workers ahead of Christmas and they greeted NHS staff at the Royal Berkshire Hospital, where Kate was born. During the crisis as the world was told to stay at home and isolate to stop the spread of the virus, the couple took to using video calls to reach our to charities and frontline workers as the nation came together to thank the NHS.

William’s diagnosis was not reported until November, with the prince keeping his condition a secret as he “did not want to alarm the nation”.

Sources said the virus left him struggling to breathe, although he did continue with work and video engagements around the period. The dad of three had a seven day break from calls and video messages after April 9.

But on April 16 he opened Nightingale Hospital Birmingham at the NEC via video link. He told them it was a “wonderful example” of the “pulling together” happening across the country to fight the pandemic.

Both William and Kate were later pictured having their Covid jabs in a drive to get people to take up the vaccine. Listening intently to the collective experiences of the hospital staff, William listened as one senior nurse became emotional when he described not visiting his elderly parents in Italy for two years to protect them during the outbreak.

The prince visited the Trust’s centre in his role as royal patron of NHS Charities Together which provided some of the £3million needed to renovate the resource that has a gym, yoga classes and a garden providing spaces for recreation, reflection and vegetable growing. He also spoke about his own experiences working on the emergency services during his time as an air ambulance pilot for the East Anglian Air Ambulance between March 2015 and July 2017.

Sitting with staff and volunteers at the hospital’s Oasis Health and Wellbeing Centre and Garden, which was set up with funding from NHS Charities Together in the aftermath of the pandemic, William said more needed to be done to help them with the mental health impact of their jobs.

He said: “Everyone in the NHS is there to care for others, so the last person who gets looked after is the individual. And I’ve seen when I’ve worked with doctors and nurses, when I’ve worked with paramedics, they always put it down the line because they don’t want to put their workload on someone else.

“For me, looking into the nation’s mental health over the last few years, unless there’s almost enforced breaks in someone’s career, as part of your career development, we’re never going to get to that point where you can look after their mental health, because you always rely on the individual to put their hand up.”

Sergio Tammelleo, 33, a lead nurse who worked on a Covid ward during the pandemic, had told William about not seeing his family in Italy for a number of years and after the visit talked about his harrowing pandemic experiences.

He said: “I remember there were days when we had 15, 20 deaths in a day and that still affects me. If you think about somebody who comes to the ward and within four or five hours will pass away, die, that is something that will never go away, it will stay in my mind forever.”

NHS Charities Together launched its Covid-19 Urgent Appeal in 2020 and raised £162 million to support NHS staff, patients and communities, working with a network of 235 NHS charities based in every Trust and Health Board around the UK.

Meghan Markle makes rare comment about ‘time in England’ as she hypes new brand

Meghan Markle has sent another personal message to those subscribing to her lifestyle brand – advertising her new As Ever products with a mysterious nod to her old royal life

Meghan Markle makes a cryptic nod to her “time in England” as she ramps up promotion for new lifestyle brand As Ever.

Just a day after her Netflix show With Love, Meghan dropped on the streaming platform to brutal reviews, the Duchess of Sussex is now turning attention to the launch of As Ever and its first line of products.

In a second newsletter in less than 24 hours for subscribers of her As Ever site, Meghan talks about her new products – of which no prices are yet available – and how they can help “find the magic in the moment”. Among the products she is selling are a raspberry spread, limited edition wildflower honey with honeycomb and herbal teas.

And when it comes to shortbread cookie mix with flower sprinkles, she makes a nod to her old royal life by promoting the product by saying: “Crunchy and delicious shortbread cookies that remind me of my time in England, with tiny flower sprinkles to add extra beauty and charm to enjoy each delicate bite.”

Of course, Meghan’s time in England came after she became engaged to Prince Harry before the pair married and she became a working royal. However, after less than two years, the couple dramatically quit the UK for the US, stepping down from their roles. In interviews since then, Meghan has railed against her time in the UK – and she is now estranged from most of her husband’s relatives.

She adds: “Showing up for someone can make them feel a little more loved, and definitely more seen – and As Ever is a reminder that these gestures do not have to be grand. In fact, it is often the small moments that can have the largest impact.

“They say ‘it’s the thought that counts’ but I would go a step further – it’s the thought that counts the most.” In her first newsletter to subscribers yesterday, Meghan addressed them as friends and explained how much has changed since she last sent newsletters for her previous lifestyle blog The Tig.

She said: “I am so happy to have you join me on this adventure. Some of you will remember receiving newsletters similar to this one back in 2014, when I founded The Tig.” “Though much has changed since then, so much has stayed the same,” she continued.

“I still dance in my kitchen, experiment with recipes, get my hands dirty in the garden, laugh with friends over way too many glasses of wine, and pivot from going out in a date night-worthy dress to being cosy at home in sweats and a baseball cap.”

She explained that her product line so far is designed to “make your everyday moments memories, to turn a basic breakfast into a beautiful snapshot of your life”

Meghan’s Markle’s eight-part Netflix series, titled With Love, Meghan, has received mixed responses since its release yesterday, with some viewers branding it ‘out of touch’ – and we want to know what you think

Meghan Markle’s new cooking and lifestyle series landed on Netflix yesterday, offering viewers a glimpse into her Montecito life with Prince Harry and their two children – and we want to hear your thoughts on her latest venture.

The eight-part series, titled With Love, Meghan, sees the Duchess of Sussex welcome celebrity friends to a California estate, where she shares cooking, gardening and hosting advice, while also delving into her life and upbringing. According to the Netflix description, the series aimed to embrace “playfulness over perfection” and highlight “how easy it can be to create beauty, even in the unexpected”.

It comes as part of the Sussexes’ staggering £100m deal with Netflix, which follows the self-titled documentary ‘Harry & Meghan’, Heart of Invictus, and Polo. However, Meghan’s latest project has been slammed by some viewers, who have accused the Suits star of trying to look like a ‘housewife’ and copy ‘Martha Stewart’ by selling herself as a homemaker.

Discussing the new show during an appearance on GB News, broadcaster Carole Malone said: “I’m not interested in it – she’s not a housewife, she’s not Martha Stewart. Martha is obsessed with and always has been obsessed with housekeeping, gardening, cooking – Meghan hasn’t.”

Former Conservative MP Sir Jake Berry argued that the show depicts an ‘unreal world’ and an unrealistic standard of parenthood. He insisted: “There was a behind the scenes shot where Meghan saying, this is what it’s like to be a normal mum, and she’d sort of lined up freshly cut fruit on a plate in a rainbow with all the same coloured fruits.

“I’ve got three kids, that’s not my experience of feeding the Berry tribe. It’s just, get it on a plate, put it in front of them, eat your dinner. We don’t have music in the background, we’re not all wearing matching beige outfits. It is not the real world.”

Parents have also slammed Meghan’s cooking tips following the show’s release, with many branding her suggestions ‘out of touch’ and ‘time consuming’. It comes as the Duchess recommended sprinkling flower petals on cut-up fruit as a way for working mums like her to “find the fun” at breakfast time.

She also shared her recipe for microwaved truffle popcorn and re-packaged pretzels, as well as made children’s party bag suggestions, which included filling them with seeds, sugar snap peas, and sweet basil.

Taking to Mumsnet to share their thoughts on the series, one user fumed: “The whole thing is inauthentic to the point where she’s not even hosting people in her own property. It’s also disgustingly over-privileged. Her advice to people who are not fortunate enough to be able to pick produce from their own garden is to ‘go to a Farmer’s Market’.”

Another echoed that her series is “not anyway relatable”, before adding: “Everything is extremely time consuming, over the top. It’s literally giving yourself a tonne of work, in order for you to laud it over others with how thoughtful and talented you are.”

However, others enjoyed the show, as one person gushed: “I am loving the show so far. It is just the perfect lifestyle/comfort show (I’m really into this type of content lately). The beautiful kitchen, scenery (God, I hope I lived in Montecito).”

“I think I am also going to try some of those recipes (home made focaccia) as well trying to make my own candles at home (it doesn’t seem to be a very difficult task). Definitely loving the children party theme/ recipes,” shared another.

Prince William’s heartbreaking plea after ‘having enough of it’ in tearful moment

Prince William’s childhood was spent in the glare of the public eye, with the royal admitting he ‘had enough of it’ – a stance which has shaped his adamancy that his own children will enjoy a private life

Prince William made a touching plea for privacy at the tender age of nine, revealed Royal photographer Arthur Edwards.

Recounting the experience in the Channel 5 doc ‘Prince George: How to Make a Monarch’, Edwards shared a moment from a Swiss ski trip photoshoot: “I remember once when we were in Switzerland on a skiing trip and they would do a photo call and I remember William saying to me, ‘Please Arthur, no more pictures, no more pictures’

Reflecting on the young prince’s request, Edwards said, “He was about nine or 10. He was very sad, he’s had enough of it and when I think back to that, I think ‘My God, how he suffered’, and he was determined that wasn’t going to happen to his children.”

The discussion of Prince William’s formative years comes as Princess Diana’s former flame, James Hewitt, appeared on Good Morning Britain to weigh in on the reported feud between William and his brother Prince Harry. Aged 66, Hewitt suggested that Diana would be heartbroken by the divide and would have fiercely sought to reconcile her boys, who have drifted apart since Harry’s emigration to the USA in 2020.

Appearing with presenters Susanna Reid and Richard Madeley, Hewitt conveyed his perspective on the Royal family’s inner workings: “I think any mother would be worried and concerned about such a rift, as you put it, and she’d do her best to try and get them together.”

The chat quickly turned to the topic of future monarchs, with eyes on Prince George and his capacity to rule one day. Katie Nicholl of Vanity Fair shared insights with the Express. about the sibling dynamic, highlighting Princess Charlotte as a potential pillar of strength for her brother.

“Charles and Anne were incredibly close and you do see a closeness between Charlotte and George. Rather than Charlotte being a threat to George, she will be possibly his greatest asset

Delving into how George and Charlotte may interact, experts suggest their different sexes will help forge a solid alliance. Psychotherapist Lucy Beresford weighed in on Royal sibling bonds, questioning: “If your eldest sibling is the same gender as you, how are you going to compete?” Beresford dug into the issue of rivalry amongst siblings, proposing that different genders could ease the strain: “That sense of the firstborn is going to get all of the love and I am going to get left with nothing.”

She concluded by considering the reduced contention in mixed-gender sibling relationships: “If you’re a different gender, somehow you haven’t got quite the same tension that you have with same-sex siblings.”
