Nicola Peltz ‘mocked’ by Brooklyn Beckham’s brothers on Instagram amid family feud

It has been rumoured that Nicola Peltz doesn’t see eye to eye with her husband Brooklyn Beckham’s famous family – and fans have now picked up what appears to be a dig from Cruz

Nicola Peltz has been “mocked” by Brooklyn Beckham’s brothers on Instagram amid their family feud, it has been reported. Romeo and Cruz Beckham seemed to have a dig at their sister-in-law when they replied in the comment section of one of their photos last month.

This comes after it’s been rumoured that Nicola doesn’t see eye to eye with the Beckhams after marrying eldest Beckham son Brooklyn back in 2022. It’s thought that one source of their arguments is over Romeo’s girlfriend Kim Turnbull, who Brooklyn is said to have been close to in the past. At the start of April, Romeo’s ex-girlfriend model Mia Regan posted a photo from her latest cover shoot on Instagram. Nicola, who reportedly became close to Mia during her relationship with Romeo, commented: “So beautiful Mia.”

Just two days after this, Romeo shared a collection of pictures on his own Instagram page, including of his current girlfriend Kim. Romeo and Cruz seemed to have a dig at Nicola as Cruz commented: “So beautiful Romeo.”

Romeo then responded with three cry laughing emojis. While the brothers could’ve thought they were being subtle, several followers picked up on the dig in the comment section.

One said: “Childish,” with another adding: “@cruzbeckham you copy @nicolaannepeltzbeckham s comment to Mia? Why?” The Mirror has reached out to Romeo and Cruz Beckham for comment. This comes as it has been reported that the real reason for the “relationship fracture” between Victoria and David and Nicola has been revealed.

Nicola’s friends have made claims what the real reasons for the fallout are as a pal has suggested that there is “emotional abuse and toxic behaviour” between the family which is why the four are unable to get along. However, David and Victoria reject the claims and are outraged by the suggestions.

A source close to the Beckhams said: “I don’t think anyone who has ever seen David and Victoria with their children would recognise this deeply unpleasant attack. It doesn’t even warrant a response it’s so ludicrous and patently untrue.” While another source told The Mirror that the couple have been left “open mouthed” after hearing the suggestions.

Nicola’s friend said: “We are at this point because Nicola, an outsider coming into the Beckham family, has been able to help Brooklyn see the emotional abuse and toxic behaviour within his family, that it’s not healthy and it’s not normal and it’s not ok.”

However, someone close to the Beckhams said they were “pumping out untruths” as they added: “You wouldn’t expect this of your worst enemy, let alone close family members. The whole thing beggars belief.”

As the feud between the Beckham family and Brooklyn and Nicola refuses to disappear, a source has claimed that Victoria is ‘devastated’ by her eldest son’s ‘betrayal’

Famously family-oriented David Beckham was no doubt hoping to ring in his recent 50th birthday with all his nearest and dearest, but the festivities were overshadowed by a devastating family feud, which shows no signs of fizzling out. After eldest son Brooklyn, 26, and his wife Nicola Peltz seemingly snubbed David’s birthday celebrations, a source tells the Mirror he and Victoria have been left “hurt and angry” over the shock move.

David marked his 50th with a star-studded bash. His three youngest children – Romeo, 22, who brought girlfriend Kim Turnbull along; Cruz, 20, with his other half Jackie Apostel; and Harper, 13 – partied alongside his celeb pals Tom Cruise and Eva Longoria. But Brooklyn and Nicola, 30, were missing following weeks of speculation that there has been a fallout. They also failed to publicly wish Victoria, 51, a happy birthday last month. Now, a source claims to the Mirror that devoted mum Victoria can’t help but feel upset.

“Victoria feels betrayed by Brooklyn and Nicola because she’s done everything she can to make them both feel welcome and Nicola like another daughter. But she feels it’s been thrown back in her face,” the source said. “She would normally do anything to avoid a family fallout, but she thinks they’re both being unreasonable.” The family drama has taken its toll on the power couple, our source goes on to claim. “David and Victoria are at a loss at what to do over Brooklyn and Nicola,” the source said.

“For them to miss David’s 50th celebrations is very upsetting in their eyes, as family means everything and sometimes you’ve just got to do things you don’t want to do when it comes to family.” The source also claims New York-born actress Nicola has different views to her London-based in-laws.

“Nicola has a very American way of thinking and refuses to put herself in a situation where she feels uncomfortable even for a minute, regardless of who she upsets – and has encouraged Brooklyn to do the same.

“It’s different to the way Brooklyn was brought up, but he seems to be following her lead. There have been a lot of tears over it, and David and Victoria have tried to put on a brave face but they’re hurt and angry.”

However, a source close to Nicola – who’s thought to have hired a new LA-based PR team to manage her profile – has claimed she and Brooklyn didn’t snub the event, but were “rebuffed” by David and Victoria. “Nicola’s incredibly close with her family and hoped to have the same relationship with her in-laws. However, the in-laws’ behaviour towards Nicola and Brooklyn has made that difficult. They flew to London with the intention of celebrating David’s birthday but were rebuffed,” the source said.

It comes after the reported feud between the two couples reached a new level, with friends of Nicola accusing the Beckham family of “emotional abuse and toxic behaviour”. They said: “We are at this point because Nicola, an outsider coming into the Beckham family, has been able to help Brooklyn see the emotional abuse and toxic behaviour within his family, that it’s not healthy and it’s not normal and it’s not ok.”

    Brooklyn and Nicola peltz selfie
A source close to actress Nicola maintains the couple were ‘rebuffed’ about meeting David and Victoria

A source close to the Beckhams hit back by refuting the claim, stating: “I don’t think anyone who has ever seen David and Victoria with their children would recognise this deeply unpleasant attack. It doesn’t even warrant a response it’s so ludicrous and patently untrue.”

While a second source close to the family said that they have been left “open-mouthed” by Nicola’s friends “pumping out untruths”.

It’s not the first time rumours of tension between the family and Nicola have swirled. The months following her and Brooklyn’s wedding in 2022 were plagued with reports of a feud between the actress and her mum-in-law, including claims that Victoria had been cut out of the wedding planning and raised eyebrows when the bride wore a Valentino dress rather than one by Victoria herself.

Nicola insisted there was no bad blood, telling Variety, “I was going to wear a Victoria Beckham dress and I really wanted to, and then a few months down the line, she realised that her atelier couldn’t do it, so then I had to pick another dress. She didn’t say you can’t wear it. I didn’t say I didn’t want to wear it.”

After that, Brooklyn and Nicola were seen publicly supporting the family, including at Victoria’s Paris Fashion Week shows and David’s premiere for Netflix show Beckham. But something else is claimed to have come in the way of the family dynamic – Romeo’s relationship with model and DJ Kim.

They went public last November and she appears to have formed a close relationship with the family. In her teens, Kim, 24, was friends with Brooklyn and Rocco Ritchie – son of Guy Ritchie and Madonna – and, according to reports, had a brief fling with Brooklyn, which has left Nicola green-eyed.

The Mirror, however, is informed that Brooklyn and Kim never dated. The source says David and Victoria “refuse to be dictated to” by Brooklyn and Nicola, adding that they won’t put the aspiring chef over their other children. It’s a sad state of affairs, but one that, hopefully, will eventually reach a peaceful solution.

Loose Women fans in disbelief as Linda Robson reveals family link to huge Hollywood star

Loose Women viewers were left stunned when Linda Robson dropped a surprise revelation on the show – she has an incredible link to a major Hollywood star

LW: Linda Robson reveals family link to Anne Hathaway

Linda Robson has revealed a huge family link to Hollywood star Anne Hathaway on Loose Women and viewers can’t quite believe it.

The Loose Women favourite, 67, told the panel that her son, Louis, wrote a song about Arsenal because the whole family are all avid supporters of the football team and the song ended up going viral – with Anne, 42, even hearing it and singing it to her millions of Instagram and TikTok followers.

“My son Louis wrote a song – because we are all Arsenal supporters – and my son wrote a song. It wasn’t about Arsenal, it was more about North London where we live, and then the Arsenal supporters picked up on it and it’s gone absolutely mad,” she told viewers.

“Now 60,000 or 70,000 fans are all singing his song over the Arsenal stadium and Anne Hathaway, who I never had a clue was a supporter, is singing it.”

Anne may be best known for her blockbuster film roles, but recently, the Hollywood A-lister has been turning heads for an entirely different reason – her passionate support for Arsenal Football Club.

The star of The Devil Wears Prada and The Dark Knight Rises is a fully-fledged Gooner, and she’s not keeping it under wraps.

In fact, Anne has been taking to TikTok to belt out North London Forever, Arsenal’s emotional anthem, with all the gusto of a Londoner herself. “The group chat is going off. ‘Declan is the man of the day’, I agree mum,” she shared in one post – proving Arsenal fever has taken over the Hathaway household.

Her football allegiance came into full view after she shared a spirited rendition of the anthem following Arsenal’s 3-0 dismantling of Real Madrid in the Champions League. While it’s not entirely clear when her Arsenal obsession began, clues suggest this isn’t just a recent fad.

Back in April 2024, during a press tour for The Idea of You, Anne and co-star Nicholas Galitzine – also a die-hard Arsenal fan -found themselves distracted mid-interview by live match updates.

“One-nil, Trossard!,” Galitzine exclaimed, to which Anne beamed: “Oh I love you,” then quickly added: “Sorry, we’re both fans of the same team, and there’s a match going on right now, and during our last interview they scored.”

The goal they were celebrating was of course Leandro Trossard’s against Wolves in Arsenal’s 2-0 win on April 20, 2024. Trossard even took notice, sending her a message: “Keep supporting us and hopefully see you soon at the Emirates.”

Despite the warm invite, it seems Anne has yet to make her pilgrimage to the Emirates Stadium.

Prior to that interview clip surfacing, there was little public trace of her being a Gunners supporter, but recent months have shown her fandom rising alongside the team’s Champions League charge.

Her love for the club now seems undeniable. Just weeks ago, she posted a photo in a red Arsenal shirt after Bukayo Saka’s comeback against Fulham, captioning it: “Welcome back #7.”

The row between David and Victoria Beckham and their daughter-in-law Nicola Peltz descended into open warfare last night.

The couple’s friends have reacted with fury after Nicola’s pals made a series of extraordinary claims about the reason why the rift between Brooklyn and his family emerged.

Her friend claimed: “We are at this point because Nicola, an outsider coming into the Beckham family, has been able to help Brooklyn see the emotional abuse and toxic behavior within his family, that it’s not healthy and it’s not normal and it’s not ok.”

But the comments have sparked outrage from sources close to the Beckhams.

“I don’t think anyone who has ever seen David and Victoria with their children would recognise this deeply unpleasant attack,” the source said. “It doesn’t even warrant a response it’s so ludicrous and patently untrue.”

A second source close to the family said they had been left “open-mouthed” that Nicola’s friends were “pumping out untruths.” The source added: ““You wouldn’t expect this of your worst enemy, let alone close family members. The whole thing beggars belief.”

Some are worried that Brooklyn has cut himself off not just from his mum and dad, but his siblings and old friends too.

“It’s a desperately sad situation,” says one pal. “Everyone loves Brooklyn so much and hopes things can be resolved.”

Other acquaintances of David and Victoria, as well as circles in LA where the billionaire Peltz family live, say there has been signs of trouble brewing for some time. As one succinctly put it: “It was always going to implode at some point.”

Friends of the Beckhams say the whole saga is even more upsetting given the lengths to which the family have backed Nicola, including promoting her film Lola. A source said: “How the Beckhams have been cast as unsupporting is ridiculous when they have been regularly posting about her endeavours to their millions of followers.

“But what makes the current situation even more galling is how Nicola appears to relish the association with the family name when it suits her.” They pointed to one “bizarre” occasion when Nicola was photographed wearing a blue and white Dolce & Gabbana biker jacket last February.

Victoria had famously worn the same jacket in the terraces of Old Trafford to watch Manchester United be crowned Premier League champions, in 2001.

At the time it was speculated by outlets – including fashion bible Vogue – that Nicola had been “granted access to her mother-in-law’s personal archive of noughties fashion.” But friends of the Beckhams say this was not the case at all.

One said: “If not obsessive, it was definitely the most bizarre behaviour especially given relations weren’t the greatest anyway in the wake of the wedding.”

Friends of Nicola claimed that her mum bought her the jacket in September 2023, “not knowing Victoria had worn it”.

“Nicola however did recognize the jacket and thought it was sweet to wear something her mother in law had worn,” the pal said. “Nicola has only ever attempted to be close to the Beckhams as she’s close with her own family.”

Friends of the Beckhams say the build-up to the lavish 2022 three-day nuptials at the £76 million family mansion in Palm Beach, Florida, was when the “alarm bells began to ring.”

A source claimed: “Nicola was very stressed out and quite difficult to be around and at the time everyone put it down to wedding nerves, and gave her the benefit of the doubt. But looking back it was the beginning of the relationship fracturing.”

This reached a head when a row broke-out over her wedding dress, which many assumed would be designed by her mother-in-law. In the end she wore a Valentino gown. Nicola’s pals claim Victoria offered to do it but then avoided texts and calls with her stylist Leslie Fremar to sort out the next steps. In the end Victoria texted Nicola that she couldn’t do it, the pal said.

But sources close to the Beckhams disputed this version of events, adding: “This was such a long time ago….everyone needs to move on.”

Many have pointed to Nicola’s upbringing and the influence of her doting, yet combative billionaire businessman father Nelson Peltz. A source said: “You don’t get that rich by being shy and retiring. There is no doubt Nicola has inherited his spirit.”

Brooklyn Beckham with his mum Victoria

Her in-laws have watched as both Nicola, and her father, have launched two expensive lawsuits in as many years.

First, Mr Peltz sued the wedding planners who oversaw Nicola and Brooklyn nuptials last April because of alleged ‘mistakes’. The planners hit back and filed a counterclaim in a Miami court for breach of contract and ‘interference’ with a business deal. Both parties eventually settled.

Then last July, Nicola herself took legal action against the groomer who worked on her chihuahua Nala shortly before her death. A source said: “Nicola doesn’t take any prisoners and woe betide anyone who crosses her. The Beckhams are now in the crosshairs. It’s why no one can see any way this whole saga ends anytime soon.”

Danny Dyer drops EastEnders drugs bombshell and slams ‘s**t’ scripts

EXCLUSIVE: Actor Danny Dyer is opening up about his time on much loved Soap, Eastenders, after playing Mick Carter for nine years from 2013 to then departing in 2022

Danny Dyer has slammed EastEnders in a foul-mouthed tirade, saying the soap is now “s***”. Speaking at a charity event on Friday night, Danny gave a no holds barred account of his time on the show, recalling how he’d often be drunk on set, and take Valium and diazepam before scenes.

He also told how stars had the “hump” when he joined as pub landlord Mick Carter in 2013 and made things “tricky”. Asked what he thought of the BBC show since he left, he said: “S*** now though, ain’t it,” he shrugged. “Serves them right.”

He took the part at a low point in his career after his Human Traffic and The Football Factory success had waned and with bailiffs at his door.

Dad-of-three Danny, 47, claims he didn’t get a warm welcome on Albert Square. “I will be honest, it is a very clicky place to work,” he said. “We took the pub over from Jessie Wallace and Shane Ritchie. Kat and Alfie had an 11 year run and then they want to get rid of them.

“So they brought us in and they had the hump. That was getting tricky. I was like ‘What’s the matter with these people, I’ve not made this call’. So there was a lot of people blanking us when we turned up.”

Whilst he looks back fondly on the first three years of working on the show, he said it went downhill from there. “I really cherish those first three years,: he recalled, “Then a new producer came in and sacked every f***er. It is a very ruthless job. I learned a lot. Nine years was enough for me.”

Talking at the Paul Strank Charitable Trust event in Wimbledon, south London – where he donated thousands of pounds of his own money – Danny opened up about the emotional rollercoaster and how he struggled with the lack of downtime from draining scenes, saying there wasn’t enough “duty of care”.

In a film you properly cry and go to a dark place,’ he said. “You have time to recover. But on soap, you ain’t. On a soap, it f**** a lot of people’s heads up. I tell you most people in soap are off their nut. You meet them on the street and they’re f***ing lunatics, I’m telling you.

“If someone dies in your family, they won’t even let you go to a f***ing funeral because it is such a machine there wasn’t much duty of care there.”

A spokesperson for the show last night rebuked the claim. In statement, they said: “We would never discuss an individual’s private matters however, we do not recognise these claims. EastEnders has extremely robust and well established procedures in place to safeguard the welfare of everyone who works on the show.”

Danny, who has suffered from drink and drug abuse in the past – going to rehab in 2017 – said he would down pints on set, before bosses stepped in.

“When I first arrived the pints were reaI,” he recalled. “I was slipping and sliding around having a few lagers and they found out, so they started to put TCP in the f***ing beer!

“I was off my nut for a lot of that job, I’ve got to say. I was on a lot of valium and diazepam, that is why. Still got that f***ing job done somehow.”

Danny has seen a career resurgence since EastEnders gave him a chance, landing his first ever BAFTA nomination for his role in Sky comedy Mr Bigstuff.

He’s also received rave reviews playing Freddie Jones in the television adaptation of Jilly Cooper’s novel Rivals for Disney. He concedes he’s got EastEnders to thank for it.

“I was a snobby f***er going I will never go in EastEnders looking down my nose at it,” he said. “It saved my f***ing career. I’d be f***ed without it.”

Describing Rivals as his most lucrative job so far in his career, he revealed how daughter Dani’s appearance on Love Island gave him an expected boost in his pay packet.

“My wages tripled when my daughter won Love Island,” he told. “Honestly, I was the father of the f***ing year and I’d done f*** all. I thought, what a touch!”

Currently filming the second series of racy Rivals, Danny has promised to flash more flesh for his return. “I do think I will get my c*** out in the second series!” he teased.

Enjoying his current purple patch, Danny says he’s always had faith in his ability despite various knockbacks in his career. “I’ve always believed I had something about me and that I can act.

“It is just a matter of never giving up, really. Especially in our world where you get used to a lot of rejection. I’ve never faded into the shadows and always thought ‘No, f**k it, I want to do something, I want to get out the council estate and earn a few quid’.”

Looking ahead to his next role, Danny says he wants to challenge himself and do something “completely left field”

“I want to play a gay aristocrat,” he said.

Lisa Armstrong has splashed out on another house – as she builds an impressive property portfolio in the wake of her divorce from Ant McPartlin.

The make-up artist, who was said to have been awarded £31million in a settlement from the TV star, snapped up a four-bed house near Oxford last year for more than £700,000.

She already has the former family home, a £2.3million five-bedroom west London mansion, which she kept as part of the divorce. Lisa then bought a £3.8million house in west London in 2020, two years following her split from Ant after 11 years of marriage.

She is expected to undertake extensive renovations of her latest purchase. It is not known if she is set to live there but she grew up in Oxford and knows the area well.

Lisa is fast becoming a savvy property developer. She completely renovated her 2020 house purchase installing a pool, a gym, outhouse and gazebo.

However she has less luck with the former marital home after it suffered a fire in September 2023, causing £1million worth of damage. Lisa had been renting the property to a family of six, it was reported at the time.

The Mirror told last year how she was looking to move on after a “topsyturvy few years to say the least.” “She is very much focused on the future and is in a really good place after what was a difficult period,” our source said.

Lisa and Ant announced they were to divorce in January 2018, two months before he crashed into two other cars while more than twice the drink-drive limit.

He later admitted drink-driving and was fined £86,000 and given a 20-month ban.

He went into rehab after the crash and took a 10-month break from TV presenting. The presenter went on to marry his former personal assistant, Anne-Marie Corbett, in 2021 and the pair welcomed their first child together, son Wilder Patrick McPartlin in May.

Lisa then went on to date Sky electrician James Green in 2020 but their split came ‘out of the blue’ in August 2023.

Speaking at the time a friend said that the end of their three-year relationship had been amicable and that the former couple would remain friends.

Danny Jones has made a comeback to TV

Danny Jones is set to make his TV comeback alongside his I’m A Celebrity co-star after lying low following his kiss with Maura Higgins. The married McFly singer, 39, shocked fans when he was filmed kissing the Love Island star, 34, at a BRIT Awards afterparty.

He decided to take a step away from the spotlight amid the scandal, as he later went on to issue a grovelling apology to his wife Georgia Horsley and their seven-year-old son Cooper. Georgia had even taken time away from their family home as they worked out how to move forward.

Danny has since made a return to work, having already performed on stage with McFly again. The Voice judge is also making his return to TV and he landed a brand new gig.

He will appear on the latest series of ITV’s You Bet!, which made its comeback last year with Stephen Mulhern and Holly Willoughby as hosts. The former This Morning presenter will not be returning for the second series, yet Stephen will be back with celebrity friends on hand.

One of those will be Danny, who has shared a behind-the-scenes look at the show. He posted a clip alongside Greg Rutherford and his I’m A Celebrity campmate Oti Mabuse.

The trio filmed at Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park as they saw brave contestants take on one of the biggest rides. Danny appeared happy to be back at work in the clip as he appears to want to put his drama behind him.

Last week, Danny shared another update as he performed alongside his McFly bandmates. Alongside photos of him psyching up the huge crowds in Wales, Danny wrote: “Back with my people. Thank you Swansea.”

Danny has been laying low over the past couple of months following his controversial kiss with Maura, 34. Footage showed Danny and Maura locking lips at the Universal Music afterparty on Saturday, March 1, following the glitz of the BRIT Awards.

Eyewitnesses saw Danny land a swift kiss on Maura before going in for a more passionate kiss. Later in the evening, it was claimed Danny and Maura took their bubbling chemistry to the swanky Nobu Hotel in Central London, where they supposedly indulged in wine until the break of dawn, eventually departing around 6am.

While speculation has been rife about the state of his marriage to Georgia, sources have told how Danny and Georgia are very much still together and working through the drama.

“They are clearly looking to put things behind them, and move on with their lives. It really hasn’t been a good time at all but they are very much together,” a source told the Mirror.

Though he’s posted about the issue on social media, neither Danny nor Maura have explicitly delved into the details surrounding the incident.

However, in March, via an Instagram post, Danny issued an apology directed at his wife and his family, vowing to manage the matter away from the public eye.

He said: “Hello everyone, sorry it’s taken me a while to post this but I’ve taken some time out to be with those closest to me. I want to deeply apologise to my wife and family for putting them in this situation. I love them so much and we’ll continue to deal with this privately.

“I love you guys, thank you for your patience, understanding, and support. See you all soon, Danny.”

The long-running reality show brings together a group of stars from the worlds of TV, music and politics and drops them in an Australian jungle where they try to boost their star power.

And for the forthcoming 25th season of the reality show, bosses are said to be hopeful they can tap soap star Shona McGarty, 33. The actress is best known for playing Whitney Dean on the BBC’s long-running soap EastEnders – a role she held down from 2008 until quitting at the end of last year.

Shona had explained she wanted to quit EastEnders after 15 years of service in order to explore other opportunities in the entertainment world. And it seems that I’m A Celeb could be one of the first big projects she undertakes now that she is free of the soap.

A source told The Sun: “Shona is Walford royalty and hugely popular with TV viewers, she’s got bags of charisma and producers think she’ll be a great campmate.

“Plus fans haven’t seen much of her away from Enders, so I’m A Celeb will be an opportunity for her to show a completely different side to her personality. Show bosses are already talking to some brilliant names for the new series.”

The Mirror has contacted representatives of Shona and I’m A Celeb for comment. Shona would be far from the first EastEnders star to take part in I’m A Celeb.

Danniella Westbrook, who played Sam Mitchell in ‘stEnders, was the first from the soap to try her luck on the series. She was a contestant during season two of the show in 2003 but withdrew from the contest after just nine days.

Sid Owen, who played Ricky Butcher – Shona’s character’s uncle – was in the cast in the 2005 season, and made it as a finalist. He ended third behind Emmerdale star Sheree Murphy and winner Carol Thatcher – a journalist and daughter of former Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher.

Dean Gaffney, famous for playing Robbie Jackson on and off since 1993, was a contestant during season six in 2006 – and was a late entrant to the camp, parachuting in on day five of the contest. He did not fare well, however, and was voted off the show less than two weeks later.

Marc Bannerman, who played Gianni di Marco on the BBC show from 1998 until 2000, appeared in the jungle the following year – but was the first star to be voted off that season.

During the eighth season in 2008, Joe Swash became the first EastEnders star to win I’m A Celeb – romping to victory over runner up Martina Navratilova. He played Mickey Miller on the soap from 2003 until 2008 – and then reprised the role briefly in both 2011 and 2024.

Lisa Fowler actress Lucy Benjamin was the next EastEnders star to appear on the show – taking part in season nine in 2009. She failed to win the show and was the third to be voted off that year.

It wasn’t until 2012 that another EastEnders star took part on ITV’s reality show – with Charlie Brooks, who plays the iconic soap villain Janine Butcher entered the jungle and went on to win. The following year, Laila Morse – who plays Mo Harris – took part but was the second to be voted off.

Next up was Larry Lamb, more famous for his role on Gavin & Stacey, but he also played Archie Mitchell from 2008 2010. He appeared in the 2016 season – but was voted off roughly halfway through.

Rita Simons, who played Roxy Mitchell, appeared in 2018. Lauren Branning actress Jacqueline Jossa won in 2019. Jessica Plummer, who played Chantelle Atkins, and Shane Richie, who plays Alfie Moon, both appeared in the 2020 season – although neither made it to the final.

Ian Beale icon Adam Woodyatt starred in the 2021 season and made it just over halfway through the season before being voted off. Danielle Harold, who played Lola Pearce from 2011 until 2024, starred in the 2023 season – and also only made it slightly more than halfway before being voted off, but is the most recent EastEnders star to appear on the show as there were none during the 2024 season.

Gary Lineker says he hopes a gay male footballer comes out at the top level – and is “applauded for their bravery”. The former England striker shared his thoughts when asked why he thinks it’s hard for players to be open about their sexuality.

Gary said of Premier League stars: “If the first one comes out, a player at the top level, I think others will follow. It’s easy for me to say they should do it. It’s hard to know how difficult it is. There’s probably a bit of fear involved.” England’s only openly gay male professional footballer is Blackpool FC striker Jake Daniels.

Lineker, 64, added: “I think if a player came out the reaction would be positive and applaud them for the bravery of doing it.”

The outgoing Match of the Day presenter was also asked about whether or not he’d be going to the 2034 World Cup in Saudi Arabia, where homosexuality is illegal.

“No, I won’t be there,” revealed Gary. “Hopefully by 2034 that has changed, I hope.”

His comments came in ITV show The Assembly, in which stars are quizzed by interviewers who are neurodivergent, autistic or learning disabled.

Asked how he avoided a booking in his 16-year career for clubs like Leicester City and Spurs, he said: “I never tackled anyone. It’s impossible now to go through a career without being booked. In my day you’d have to have committed grievous bodily harm to be booked.”

Asked how he would like to be remembered, Gary mused: “I don’t mind what people think about me. People have opinions about people when they don’t have any idea what they’re like. People thought I’m a good footballer. I was born to be in the box, I learnt to be on the box and very soon I’ll be in a box. It’s been fun.

“I’ve been incredibly lucky. I wonder why I have been so blessed. But I’m thankful.”

Earlier in the episode Gary opened up about his BBC suspension. He said: “It was a crazy week. It upset me, having all the press outside my house every minute of the day for five or six days. It got a bit silly.”

But said support from his colleagues meant a lot to him. “It was actually also lovely, because the backing I got from the people I work with was beautiful,” he said.

Lineker had posted that language used by Suella Braverman over the stop the boats asylum policy was “not dissimilar to that used by Germany in the 1930s”.

But after he was suspended, many of his colleagues in BBC Sport declined to stand in for him, including Alex Scott and Alan Shearer.

Kelly Cates, Mark Chapman and Gabby Logan will replace Gary in the famous Match of the Day chair

The Assembly: Gary Lineker is on ITV1 at 10pm tomorrow night.

The 2025 season of Strictly Come Dancing may still be months away – but rumours about the line-up for the 23rd season are heating up, with a former contestant from The Apprentice said to be on the list

The Apprentice star Thomas Skinner has been teased as a 2025 Strictly Come Dancing contestant

A former star of The Apprentice has reportedly been snapped up for the 2025 season of Strictly Come Dancing – as the countdown to the 23rd season of the show commences. Thomas Skinner was a contestant on the BBC’s hit business reality show – fronted by Sir Lord Alan Sugar – in 2019.

The 34-year-old Bosh Beds owner was fired by Lord Sugar during week nine of the 15th season of the show – but his time on BBC One served as a launchpad for the Essex lad to appear in a string of TV shows. So far, he has turned up on shows including Celebrity MasterChef and Michael McIntyre’s The Wheel.

This year, it has been suggested the dad-of-three will hit the ballroom floor as a contestant on the BBC’s long-running dance show, Strictly Come Dancing. While the series initially shunned reality stars as contestants, the barrel started being scraped in 2019 when Made In Chelsea star Jamie Laing was cast on the show.

In the years since, the line up has been filled up with Love Island contestants, The Only Way Is Essex cast members and more. And now Thomas stands to become the first ever contestant from The Apprentice to star on the show.

A source told The Sun on Sunday: “Thomas hasn’t any dancing experience, but he’s up for giving the competition his best shot. Strictly bosses are hoping he’ll get the dads watching. He has a massive following, especially with working-class blokes.

“He’s a huge football fan and enjoys pies and gravy. He’s not a luvvie at all. He’s bound to get his catchphrase ‘Bosh’ on to the show, too.”

The Mirror has contacted representatives of Thomas and the BBC for comment. The 2025 season of Strictly is not expected to get underway until August – however, cast members are signed up in advance to give them time to start training before live shows begin airing.

It may still be several weeks before the celebrity contestants are revealed – however, the 2025 professional dancers have been confirmed. Returning to the dance floor are Nadiya Bychkova, Amy Dowden, Karen Hauer, Katya Jones, Neil Jones, Nikita Kuzmin, Gorka Marquez.

Further professionals Luba Mushtuk, Jowita Przystal, Johannes Radebe, Aljaž Škorjanec, Kai Widdrington, Nancy Xu, Carlos Gu, Lauren Oakley, Michelle Tsiakkas, and Vito Coppola are also expected to return.

Australian dance professional Dianne Buswell – who won the 2024 season alongside comedian Chris McCausland – is said to be coming back for more. And there are set to be two brand new faces joining the professionals.

Sarah James, Executive Producer, BBC Studios said in a statement last month: “The excitement is already building ahead of the new series and in addition to welcoming back our fantastic returning Pros, we are looking forward to welcoming two brand new Professional Dancers to the line up who will help bring another unforgettable series of dazzling dance and loads more besides to viewers later in 2025.”

And Kalpna Patel-Knight, Head of Entertainment at the BBC added: “The Strictly Professional Dancers are the beating heart of the programme, showcasing to viewers in every corner of the UK their world class talent by lighting up the famous Strictly ballroom every Saturday and Sunday night. Here’s to another fab-u-lous series!”

Judges Shirley Ballas, Anton Du Beke, Craig Revel Horwood, and Motsi Mabuse are expected to take up their seats again when the show returns. However, it could be the last time fans see Craig Revel Horwood dishing out scores on the show.

The TV judge previously hinted he would bow out of the show once he turned 60 – an age that he reached earlier this year.
