S Club star Jo O’Meara has revealed she’s been rushed to hospital as she took to social media to share a health update after suffering over her back

A huge chart-topping singer has been rushed to the hospital. S Club singer Jo O’Meara took to social media to share a major health update with her online followers.

Posing in a hospital bed wearing a medical gown, the 46-year-old looked downcast as she explained she’d been suffering difficulties with her back again. Captioning her post, the singer penned: “Back in hospital! The back is back! I didn’t expect to be in here today

Just hours before this, Jo revealed that she was celebrating the 17th birthday of her son, Lenny, as she took to her Instagram to reveal she was “proud” of her “darling” child. This, however, isn’t the first time Jo has been left in pain over her back. In 2022, she explained that she had been rushed to hospital in the “worst pain”.

The Don’t Stop Movin’ singer underwent emergency surgery, which she later confirmed didn’t work. At the time, Jo shared a snap of herself in her local Accident & Emergency after she was hooked up to an IV drip to deliver medication. She said: “When am I gonna get a break?? I really thought I was on the road to recovery.

“4am this morning the pain was the worst it’s been yet! So here we are again! I am devastated.” Due to her declining health, the singer was forced to cancel a string of concerts and underwent an operation to remove a disc from her back, causing her to spend eight days as a patient at Queen’s hospital in Romford. Sadly, the surgery didn’t work and Jo required another operation.

She later explained: “As you can see I’m back in bed. That is because the back is playing games again. The pain has been absolutely horrendous and today I got some MRI scan results back that wasn’t the result I wanted. I’ve actually got to go back into hospital for further surgery on my back which I’m absolutely devastated about to be honest.”

Speaking about her health in 2023 during an appearance on Loose Women, Jo said: “I’m a lot better than what I was. Yeah, it’s been a really rough few months, to be honest. It’s been very painful. I’ve had good days and bad days with it.

“I think sometimes you just got to soldier through it and then other times you just want to know how long the pain is going to last.” She’s since had four operations on her back.

The singer has been suffering from chronic back pain for decades and revealed she had issues with her back when she was in her early 20s. After going to an osteopath, she was told she had a slipped disc.

“The sciatica was horrendous. The pain was the worst,” Jo explained. Following the operations, Jo was left to take a different number of pain medications, but none – including morphine – seemed to take the edge off her unbearable pain.

When she first felt the agonising pain in 2022, she thought she was having a convulsion as her whole body went into shock. The Reach singer said she immediately rang for an ambulance and told The Sun: “I was sobbing and shaking. They came running in but I couldn’t move. Every time I tried to get off the bed I was screaming and sobbing in pain.”

Surgery left Jo facing months of physio before she could think about getting back on the stage, and she will have damage to her right leg permanently. Doctors had warned her that she may never return to her old ways. She explained how she knew something was severely wrong, as she’s often struggled with back pain.

“I knew the feeling but it was ten times worse than what I’ve had before,” she explained. “Back surgery is so complex and every time they go in, they’re just weakening my back. I was absolutely petrified.”

The TV presenter returned to her social media this morning to share her heartbreak over losing out on an award. Rocking a Nike sweatshirt and blue shorts, the star shared an update while gardening, telling followers: “Good morning from the veg patch, about to do the morning water. We didn’t win a BAFTA and I know I’m supposed to take it gracefully like a champ but I’ll be honest I’m devastated.”

She added: “I’m not handling it very well, I’m not taking it very gracefully. I’m devastated for our whole team like I’m so gutted for our team. Everyone got dressed up and were really hopeful because I think because they work so hard.

“It’s not an easy show to make, Sort Your Life Out, and the team work so hard to make it happen and they so deserve a BAFTA. The Sort Your Life Out team deserve a BAFTA and I’m devastated.

I’m not saying that everyone else didn’t deserve their BAFTAs, they absolutely did. People think making TV is really easy and it’s not so everyone deserves recognition but I’m just gutted for the whole Sort Your Life Out family because I do feel like they deserve a BAFTA, I’m going to say. I’m gutted.”

She went on to share the hard work involved in creating Sort Your Life Out. The team has seven days to pack up an entire house into a warehouse before it’s laid out on the floor to be organised ‘meticulously’.

“We make sure it doesn’t get chucked away. We donate, we recycle, we resell things and put it all back and put in systems to help families move forwards,” Stacey explained.

“The families give up so much to be on the show, they deserve that away. It’s so hard to let someone into your house when you’re going through a really difficult time and you know there’s going to be people out there that will judge but you need the help also.

“The families just…” she added before showcasing her frustration by shaking the hose around before laughing.

Stacey gave a shoutout to the cast and crew of the show, telling them they’re the “best people I know” before telling fans how proud she is to be part of the programme.

“Rant over,” she joked in the caption as she returned to her morning gardening.

Along with the two Sort Your Life Out nominations, Loose Women – which has Stacey on as a panellist – was nominated for Daytime Award against Morning Live, Richard Osman’s House of Games and Clive Myrie’s Caribbean Adventure.

It’s been a week of highs and lows for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, who have been ruthlessly mocked on Saturday Night Live (SNL).

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, who were seen out and about enjoying themselves at a Beyoncé gig over the weekend, were the subject of a topical segment on the US comedy sketch show, and host Colin Jost didn’t hold back.

While commenting on some of the biggest news stories of the week, alongside co-host Michael Che, comic Colin touched upon the UK-US trade deal negotiated between PM Sir Keir Starmer and President Donald Trump, with a brutal dig at Harry and Meghan.

Colin, a longtime host of the Weekend Update, quipped: “President Trump also announced a new trade deal with the UK that will reopen British markets for American companies. All that Britain demands in return is that we keep these two.”

This comes after Meghan shared a sweet Instagram post following her recent “very fun date night” with Prince Harry at Beyoncé’s “Cowboy Carter” tour in Los Angeles.

The post, filled with snaps and footage of the pair enjoying themselves at SoFi Stadium on the evening of Friday, May 9, was uploaded with the following caption: “About last night…. Thank you @beyonce and team for an amazing concert (and a very fun date night)! All love.”

The couple previously went to see Beyoncé at her 2023 Renaissance World Tour, to celebrate the 67th birthday of Meghan’s mum Doria Ragland.

As well as being fans of the Lemonade icon, it’s understood that Harry, 40, and Meghan, 43, are also pals with Bey. The music legend praised Meghan after her and Harry’s bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey, in which the mother of two alleged to have been subjected to racist treatment by members of the Royal Family.

At the time, Beyoncé posted the following message to her website: “Thank you Meghan for your courage and leadership. We are all strengthened and inspired by you.”

In one episode of the Sussexes’ 2022 Netflix documentary Harry & Meghan, Meghan revealed she had received a supportive text from Beyoncé.

She shared: “Beyoncé just texted, just checking in… I still can’t believe she knows who I am… she wants me to feel safe and protected. She admires and respects my bravery and vulnerability and thinks I was selected to break generational curses that need to be healed.”

Strictly could see two well-heeled celebrities take to the dancefloor this year

Well-heeled celebrities Georgia “Toff” Toffolo and Tom Parker Bowles are being lined up for the next series of Strictly. Insiders say I’m a Celebrity winner Georgia, who rose to fame on reality series Made In Chelsea, is in talks to join the BBC contest.

The Tory-supporting pal of Nigel Farage recently wed millionaire beer boss James Watt, founder of BrewDog. Sources say the Beeb are also after another name from the ranks of high society in Tom Parker Bowles – the eldest son of Queen Camilla. Food writer and restaurant critic Tom, 50, is a regular judge on MasterChef.

A Strictly source said: “Georgia is in talks to join – she would bring glamour, poise and fun to the show. She’s been a huge hit on all the telly shows she’s done and would be a popular contestant on Strictly.

“Top of their wishlist is MasterChef star Tom. His name was also sounded-out last year but never materialised. Bosses hope they’ll have better luck this year.

“It would be a coup to sign someone with such a strong royal link. Maybe we could see Camilla and Charles in the audience?”

Toff, 30, and entrepreneur James, 42 – whose estimated worth is £250million – met in 2023 on a blind date arranged by friends.

James popped the question last year on holiday in Greece and they married in March.

Toff, who won I’m A Celebrity in 2017, had opted for a low-key ceremony in the coastal village of Gardenstown, Aberdeenshire.

They spent the morning at James’s grandparents’ rural home, enjoying jam on toast with cups of tea in the kitchen before heading in a rental van to the local church.

After exchanging vows, they celebrated on a fishing boat in tribute to James’s fisherman dad.

Meanwhile Eton-educated Tom may not be Toff by name – but as the Queen’s son he is very much toff by nature and would bring the show a strong upper-class touch.

He cites his mother’s cooking and recipes as his inspiration, and recently described Camilla – married to King Charles for 20 years – as a “great mum”.

The Queen once joked that she wanted to star in Strictly herself, as it’s one of her favourite shows.

The 77-year-old is said to have told the Sun’s royal photographer Arthur Edwards that she would be up for the dancing experience.

Brooklyn Beckham has made a rare comment about his bond with his dad David Beckham, despite their ongoing feud.

The 26-year-old made the confession in an interview about his Formula E career, in which he gave a candid, rare insight into their relationship – which is rumoured to be fractious at the moment. Brooklyn is said to not be answering calls from his concerned parents in an apparent feud which sparked after his brother Romeo Beckham began dating Kim Turnbull.

Despite rumours the eldest Beckham son isn’t on talking terms with David and Victoria as well as his siblings, he revealed his love of motorsport was sparked by his football star father.

“It’s something that me and my dad bonded over. My dad’s had some pretty cool cars,” he told The Times in an interview. Brooklyn also admitted to driving his father’s favourite car as he added that his top pick is his “1954 Jaguar, which I very rarely drive, only when the weather’s perfect.”

The admission comes after it was revealed that David and wife Victoria Beckham have been attempting to build bridges with Brooklyn who is reportedly ignoring their calls. Insiders have claimed that David is “desperate to make amends with his son Brooklyn as he fears history is repeating itself.”

David had a bitter feud with his own father, Ted, in 2005 which led to the pair not speaking for two years. It was only when Ted suffered a near-death health scare in 2007 that they began to work to fix their broken relationship.

The man behind the Spice Girls is said to be encouraging a 30th anniversary reunion tour in order to help deal with the blow of his impending multi-million pound divorce. Simon Fuller, 64, who was the group’s manager during their hey day, is facing a £200milion divorce settlement, which according to reports, is the reason why he is keen for the tour to go ahead.

Simon’s estranged wife Natalie, 46, who was married to the music mogul for 17 years, filed for divorce last week citing “irreconcilable differences.”

His net worth is believed to be an estimated £445million and by law, Natalie is entitled to half of his fortune.

A source told The Sun: “This explains a lot about Simon’s desire to get the Spice Girls back together and on the road for a lucrative money-spinning tour.”

Simon has been credited as the man who launched the global career of the girl group, who stood for female empowerment during the nineties.

Last month, it was reported that he had been in touch with Geri Horner amid speculation that a reunion deal was finally being discussed.

According to reports, a reunion tour could earn the group, Geri Horner, Melanie Brown, Emma Bunton and Melanie Chisholm, a whopping £30million – but it’s been claimed Victoria Beckham hasn’t even been contacted about the tour.

This is perhaps based on the fact they earned £18million in profit in 2019 on the back of 13 stadium shows.

Victoria reportedly told those close she is “90 per cent out of the running” for 2026 but the rest of the ladies are believed to be considering the deal.

Simon and Natalie married in 2008 and had signed a pre-nuptial agreement at the time. Guests included all of the Spice Girls and Leona Lewis, along with Annie Lennox, who he managed.

The couple have three children together, nine year old twins and another child who is 14 years old. Last month, the tour appeared to be almost close to being confirmed.

A source told The Sun at the time: “There have been rumours swirling for months, but Geri has always been too busy and had other things on, preventing her from saying Yes.”

They added: “Nothing is yet confirmed but Geri and Simon are back in touch with a myriad of exciting ideas.”

“Unfortunately Victoria has pretty much ruled herself out, but there is still a world in which she could do some sort of avatar appearance or a special one-off thing,” they said.

Angellica Bell has taken aim at Martin Lewis after her brutal sacking from his ITV money saving show. The 49-year-old TV presenter was seen breaking down in the Diary Room on her recent stint on Celebrity Big Brother as she confessed her feelings on her “secret sacking” from The Martin Lewis Money Show in 2023.

The star found out just days before filming commenced that she was being given the axe. Producers claimed that Angellica had created a conflict of interest by appearing on Channel 5’s The Gadget Show, which was rebranded to become Shop Smart, Save Money.

Now Angellica has confessed that she felt hurt and let down by the people she had worked with as she slammed them for showing no consideration to her after her departure. She said: “I think I was hurt because it wasn’t my fault. You work with people, you go through so much and build up bonds, and when that’s gone, with no card, no thanks, it’s really hard.”

However, she confirmed she hasn’t held a grudge and “respects” the decision that was made to sack her in such brutal fashion. She said: “Things happen, things change. I respect the decision, but I think the way it was handled. . . People need to take care of people’s feelings.

“I always try to treat people how I want to be treated. Sometimes, I put other people’s feelings above mine. But not everyone works the same way. It is what it is.”

Angellica added: “I wanted to find and reconnect with myself, and I thought: ‘Maybe this is the time that I need to just be me.’ I’ve done a lot of growing up in this business and I thought this would be a chance to have fun and to relinquish control.

“I’m so chuffed I did it, I had the best time. I lasted longer than I thought I would, and I made some connections with people I never expected.”

Strictly Come Dancing star Saffron Barker has revealed she was rushed to hospital for emergency surgery.

The TV and YouTube star, 24, revealed her latest health woes as she posted a photo of herself looking tearful as she was seen sat in a dentist chair while cuddling a soft toy. Sharing the image to her Instagram story, Saffron shared her nightmare week.

She wrote: “In the last week, iv been in hospital, had emergency surgery, got my rental car completely smashed up and every single thing i own stolen including my passport so cat get home”. [sic]

In a later post, she shared a thought-provoking quote which read: “You’ve made it through things you once thought would break you. Don’t forget to give yourself credit for that. You’re stronger than you know, and there’s more softness, more joy, and more magic ahead. Keep going.”

Saffron is yet to reveal why she was rushed to hospital or what the surgery was for. But, she has recently shared photos of herself in Palm Springs, California in the United States of America on her social media channels.

Last week, she posted a video of herself and her friends’ travels in the US as she showed off her hotel room and laughed and joked with pals. As she posted the video on her Instagram, Saffron wrote: “Come travel with us! PLEASE stick around for her penguin impression cry of laughter every time ..”

Meanwhile, Saffron later posted snaps of herself in gym wear while posing on the streets of Palm Springs.

Over on the star’s TikTok page, Saffron was seen looking loved up with her new boyfriend Josh Miln as the pair were seen getting ready in a hotel room ahead of a date night. Saffron was seen doing her hair and makeup before getting dressed in a red number while Josh helped her tie the back of her dress. As she posted the cute clip, she wrote in the caption: “My forever date @Josh Miln”.

On the post, concerned fans left comments after Saffron’s Instagram share about her hospital dash. One penned: “Just seen ur insta story hope ur okay saffron”. Another added: “I just saw your story, i seriously hope your okay. thinking of you” and a third wrote: “Just seen Instagram, what the hell is going on. Hope you are ok xx”.

The Strictly Come Dancing star, who took part in the 2019 series as she danced with AJ Pritchard, revealed in October she was rushed to hospital after suffering “shooting pains” and having “rashes all over my body”.

Saffron revealed how doctors were concerned she may have caught a disease while on holiday. Speaking of the ordeal at the time, she said: “I had all the symptoms (of a tropical disease) being, rashes all over my body, headache, body aches, shooting pains in my body, temperature, sore throat and ears etc.

“After getting my bloods taken turns out I didn’t have that but my white blood cells were half the number they should be so very low and therefore my whole body was trying to fight the infection.”

But it took them a couple of years to come up with what looks like a no-brainer as this summer – they will perform 40 shows together in new touring production Red Hot And Ready.

Opening in Shrewsbury on 11 June and ending in Eastbourne on 26 July, with rehearsals starting just two days later for the next series of Strictly, they talk exclusively to OK! about how the BBC show has changed their lives, what happened when Dianne changed her hair colour and the dish Vito would rustle up if he invited you to supper.

Hi, both! Can you tell us about your Red Hot And Ready show?

Dianne: There’ll be plenty of dancing, of course, and singing. But, more than that, you’ll get to meet Vito and me properly. There’s no time on Strictly for our full personalities to come across. I love comedy, Vito loves cooking, so prepare yourself for a feast, with lots of laughs thrown in.

Who else is in the show?

Dianne: Six other dancers, two vocalists and a percussionist. I’m not exaggerating when I say I find every one inspiring. The choreography is by Strictly’s Jason Gilkison, who is the god of the dance world.

Who decided to put you and Vito together?

Dianne: From the moment we met, Vito and I clicked. He’s Italian, as is my mum’s side of the family. He immediately reminded me of one of my cousins and my crazy uncle. That’s why I get on with him so well. I can be myself with him.

Vito, describe your relationship with Dianne…

Vito: We’re like brother and sister. When I met her the first time, it felt like I’d known her forever. She’s one of the funniest people I know. Two summers ago, I was in her home, baking. We started dancing round the kitchen and that’s when we came up with the idea of putting together a show. We decided we wanted it to be like ‘50 Shades of Dianne and Vito’.

Has Strictly changed your lives?

Dianne: Oh, 100%. It’s through the show I met my life partner Joe [Sugg]. It put my name on the map and taught me so much about dance. Vito: I left home when I was young to dance competitively around the world. I didn’t feel I belonged anywhere until I reached the UK and joined Strictly. It felt as though I’d come home, I’d found my bubble. In my first year, 2022, my celebrity partner was Fleur East and she’s one of my favourite human beings. People think celebs learn from us – they do – but we pros also learn a lot from them

Did you know that you had picked a winner with Ellie Leach?

Vito: My name for her was Lulu because her second name is Louise. To begin with, she didn’t believe in herself. She thought we would be eliminated on week one. Every week, right up to the final, she’d cry at least one day. But I always reassured her that I would get the best out of her. Once I’d won her trust, she slowly came to believe that she was capable. The week of the paso doble was a turning point. She’d become a strong, independent woman.

Lifting the Glitterball must have been a moment…

Vito: Winning is not everything but it’s very nice when it happens! I felt the same when I won Celebrity MasterChef. The way I approached that was by imagining I was cooking for my family: this producer was my auntie, this production assistant was my cousin, the judges were my parents and so on. As a result, I never felt alone cooking. I gave my winner’s medal to my grandfather – he was the only person I’d told that I’d entered the competition.

What’s the special meal you would cook for Dianne and Joe?

Vito: Seafood pasta and a rum baba sponge, both of which I cooked in the final of Celebrity MasterChef. Dianne, you joined Strictly in 2017 and recently celebrated your 36th birthday. Do you look ahead? Dianne: I take it as it comes. Even if I wasn’t dancing on it, I’d love to be on the judging panel or connected with the show in some way. It’s what brought me to the UK from Australia in the first place. Strictly is my family, it’s given me so much. Look at Karen [Hauer]. She’s 43, our longest-serving professional, and still going strong.

When you were told you’d be paired with blind comedian Chris McCausland, were you concerned?

Dianne: Not concerned, no. But I was curious because I’d never taught anyone who was even visually impaired. To be honest, I didn’t think we’d make it that far, never mind win.

How did you tackle the obvious obstacle of him not being able to see?

Dianne: By completely changing my teaching methods. Everything I’d ever learnt and taught was visual. I had to choreograph routines so he’d always know where I was. It meant thinking outside the box. Trust was extremely important. I’m not going to lie, it was a real challenge.

Were you whispering instructions in his ear?

Dianne: In the rehearsal rooms, yes. But then we realised he couldn’t hear what I was saying on the dance floor, the music was so loud. So, we developed a method where I’d press certain parts of his body to communicate what I wanted him to do. It was the hardest but most rewarding thing I’ve ever done.

Has it forged a lifelong friendship?

Dianne: Absolutely. We’ve created a weekly podcast, Winning Isn’t Everything. Chris couldn’t come on the Strictly live tour because he was committed to his stand-up tour. I went to one of his shows and he was brilliant. It was nice to see him in his natural habitat.

Will Joe be coming to see you on your new tour?

Dianne: Of course! And he’s a big fan of Vito’s who’s been over to our house on a number of occasions and cooked for us, too.

Your trademark is your flame-coloured hair. Is it true you were once a hairdresser?

Dianne: Oh, hairdressing has been a lifelong passion of mine. I started my apprenticeship aged 15 and went on to have my own salon in Australia. Dancing took over but, wherever I go, I take my scissors with me. Maybe I should suggest a haircut to Vito…

Has your hair always been dyed red?

Dianne: I’ve had so many different colours – blonde, blue black, jet black, brown, you name it – although red has been a staple for quite a while. I did change it to orange a few years back and got all these messages saying it wasn’t right and I should change it back to red immediately. People got quite angry at me!

When Christine McGuiness made the decision to quit the process of Celebs Go Dating, the wife of Paddy McGuiness left many open-mouthed. At the time, she claimed that she felt it was too soon for her to jump into the dating pool following her public divorce from Paddy, who is the father of her three children.

But when the Mirror exclusively caught up with Christine on the red carpet at the BAFTA TV Awards to find out how life is treating her following her exit, she revealed: “I’m really, really good. I’m happy to be at the BAFTAs, it’s a gorgeous day.”

And she also let slip that she is focusing on work which takes her mind off wanting to find a companion in the future. She went on to add: “There’s going to be an announcement in a few weeks which i’m very, very excited about for a new project I’ve been working on.”

Christine first met Paddy in 2007 when she was modelling at the Liverpool Tennis Tournament. Two years later, the funny man turned TV presenter popped the question and in 2011 the couple walked down the aisle.

But in 2022, the couple released a joint statement announcing their divorce after 15 years together.

And while the pair remained living separately in their marital home, it seems the decision to divorce was based on an “unforgiveable” reason.

Speaking on an episode of The Shizzio Show she failed to elaborate on the real reason behind the shocking decision. But she admitted: “It was a difficult time. It wasn’t something that, you know, I just decided to do overnight, or that we chose to do.”

She added: “We tried, and, yeah, there just, unfortunately, there was no repairing it, you know?” She went on: “I’ll always, always love him as the father of the children, and I still live at home with him, which says a lot.

Christine continued: “We separated three years ago, and we are completely divorced, and we live in separate parts of the house, but we share a family home.”

But this may explain the reason why the mum of three and reality TV star dropped out of Celebs Go Dating.

Christine shared with fans at the time: “I joined Celebs Go Dating with great intentions but have realised that dating on a public platform and the attention is brings is just too soon for me.”

Without ruling out the possibility of returning to the show in the future, she added: “They’ve said the door is always open for me which I’m so grateful but for now I’m returning home to my family.”

Just moments before she posted her announcement, she revealed that she was basking in the sunshine in the Spanish island of Ibiza.
