Eurovision’s Remember Monday star fights tears live on air ahead of semi-final

Remember Monday joined Richard Arnold live from Basel on Thursday morning ahead of their live preview performance during tonight’s second semi-final

With just days to go until the Eurovision final, Richard Arnold headed to Basel with Good Morning Britain. This morning he was talking to UK hopefuls Remember Monday, and things got emotional for member Charlotte as the host surprised her with a heart warming video.

Charlotte, who is a former deputy head of sixth form, was seen fighting tears as Richard showed her a video of her students singing their Eurovision final song What The Hell Just Happened?

Halfway through the interview, Richard said: “Charlotte, we’ve got a special message for you,” as Charlotte responded: “I was a deputy head of a Sixth Form and they are like my second family, they’re amazing!”

Richard then responded: “Well if you look at this I think you’ll feel that they feel the same.”

The GMB host then played a video of a number of students singing their hit song, What The Hell Just Happened? in a choir, as Charlotte was seen fighting back tears.

“Awww, I just love them, look at them!” she gushed. “I hope that I inspire them by doing this. I love them!”

Elsewhere in the interview, the girls announced they were feeling anxious ahead of Saturday night’s grand final. “Today is the first time we’ve felt a little bit anxious because it’s real now!”

Despite not competing in tonight’s semi-final, will mark the first performance on the Eurovision stage from the band, as a preview of what’s to come on Saturday.

The first semi-final, which took place on Tuesday saw ten acts progressing to the final. Kyle Alessandro (Norway), Shkodra Elektronike (Albania), KAJ (Sweden), VÆB (Iceland), Claude (Netherlands), Justyna Steczkowska (Poland), Gabry Ponte (San Marino), Tommy Cash (Estonia), NAPA (Portugal) and Ziferblat (Ukraine) all made it through.

However, it meant Klemen (Slovenia), Red Sebastian (Belgium), Mamagama (Azerbaijan), Marko Bošnjak (Croatia) and Theo Evan (Cyprus) didn’t qualify, and won’t be performing during Saturday’s final.

Elsewhere, fans were overjoyed during the semi-final when they were surprised with a message from superstar Celine Dion.

The star, who won Eurovision for Switzerland in 1988, shared a message prior to a special performance of her winning song Ne partez pas sans moi by other artists. The singer told fans that her experience in the contest had been “life-changing moment” and she shared: “I’d love nothing more to be with you.”

As BBC Radio 4 Today presenters Nick Robinson and Emma Barnett are rumoured to be locked in a feud, The Mirror takes a look at other famous co-host clashes where on-screen friendships are masked behind-the-scenes tensions.

According to reports, Nick and Emma, who have only hosted 13 shows together in total, are locked in a bitter feud as they go 90 days without presenting their flagship show the Today programme.

Insiders claim tensions have brewed over their contrasting presenting styles – Nick’s stricter, blunter approach reportedly clashing with Emma’s different tone. Though BBC bosses have attempted to brush off the rumours, listeners have picked up on the palpable awkwardness whenever the two do appear together.

But they wouldn’t be the first co-hosts to be enlocked in an alleged feud. Here’s a rundown of other celebrity pairs who couldn’t keep it together behind the scenes.

    Eamonn Holmes and Anthea Turner

The GMTV dream team of the 90s was anything but harmonious. Eamonn reportedly dubbed Anthea “Princess Tippy Toes,” mocking her supposed prima donna attitude.

The tension between the pair escalated over time, with Eamonn allegedly resenting Anthea’s perceived favouritism from producers. According to insiders, Eamonn eventually gave bosses an ultimatum: it was either him or her.

Anthea ultimately left the role, and the bitterness between the former colleagues has been referenced by Eamonn in interviews years later.

Denise later described the experience as “toxic,” with tensions off-air undermining their professional rapport.

    Anne Robinson and Rachel Riley

Countdown’s Anne Robinson allegedly grew frustrated with Rachel’s friendly interactions with the audience. Reports suggest Anne believed Rachel’s approach was too chatty and informal for the show’s traditional tone.

Their working relationship reportedly deteriorated to the point where Anne made it clear she preferred minimal conversation between segments. The atmosphere grew so strained that fans began to notice the coldness between the two during episodes.

    Gary Barlow and Tulisa

Their stint on The X Factor saw a fiery exchange when the Take That singer publicly criticised Tulisa’s “cigarette breath” during live shows.

Tulisa retaliated by pointing out Gary’s “red wine” stench, making for uncomfortable viewing. Off-camera, tensions were reportedly even worse, with Tulisa feeling undermined by Gary’s veteran status on the judging panel.

When Tulisa eventually quit, Gary expressed relief, describing her departure as a “fresh start” for the show.

    Sharon Osbourne and Dannii Minogue

The tension between these two X Factor judges was legendary. Sharon allegedly harboured resentment toward Dannii over her rumoured romantic involvement with Simon Cowell, believing the relationship gave her an unfair advantage.

Sharon’s frustration reportedly grew into outright disdain, with snide comments and frosty interactions playing out on and off the camera. Even years later, Sharon has made no secret of her dislike for Dannii.

    Coleen Nolan and Kim Woodburn

The two famously came to blows during Celebrity Big Brother in 2017, only for tensions to reignite on Loose Women in a fiery exchange that Coleen later admitted nearly ended her career.

Kim accused Coleen of bullying her during their time in the CBB house, with Kim breaking down over unresolved trauma from her childhood.

Coleen, meanwhile, insisted she was only defending herself against Kim’s aggressive outbursts. Their explosive clash remains one of the most dramatic moments in Loose Women history.

James Jordan and Craig Revel Horwood

Strictly Come Dancing’s fiery James Jordan and notoriously harsh judge Craig Revel Horwood were embroiled in a years-long feud. The tension began with harsh criticisms from Craig about James’s dance routines, which James viewed as unfair and personal.

Matters escalated when James and his wife Ola publicly called for Craig to be sacked, prompting Craig to accuse James of plotting to steal his job. The feud simmered for years before James’s eventual dismissal from the show.

    Piers Morgan and Alex Beresford

Good Morning Britain viewers were left stunned when Piers stormed off the set after clashing with Beresford over Meghan Markle. The argument, which centred on Morgan’s relentless criticism of the Duchess of Sussex, became one of the most talked-about moments in daytime TV history.

Alex later admitted he found Piers’ behaviour “pathetic” and “childish.” The incident ultimately led to Piers’ resignation from the show.

Speculation has swirled for years over whether the golden pair of daytime TV truly get along off-screen. Despite their polished appearances on This Morning, whispers of rivalry and rifts persist.

Sources have claimed that while Holly and Phil present a united front for the cameras, their personal relationship is much more strained following his removal from the show.

  • ITV The Chase’s Shaun Wallace insists he has ‘no regrets’ as he makes huge life decision

ITV The Chase’s Shaun Wallace insists he has ‘no regrets’ as he makes huge life decision

The Dark Destroyer – also known as Shaun Wallace – is best known for his brains on The Chase but has opened up about a recent huge, life changing decision he has made

The Chase star Shaun Wallace has revealed he has ‘no regrets’ as he opened up on a major life decision. Shaun rarely discusses his personal life but recently gave a rare insight to fans in a podcast chat.

The quizzing legend, 65, was on the How To Be 60 podcast with Loose Women’s Kaye Adams and her co-host Karen MacKenzie when he made the admission. Quizzing genius Shaun has never been married and never had any children – a huge decision which he made early on in his career and still stands by.

When he was asked about his thoughts on having children, Shaun said he never had any, and explained that was a conscious choice he made early on in his career.

Shaun Wallace revealed his relationship status on a podcast

He added: “It was a conscious reason when I was a young struggling barrister. I didn’t think it would be right to bring up a child when you’re trying to climb to the top of that greasy pole.”

Despite never becoming a father himself, Shaun does take great pride in being a godfather to 15 children. He proudly shared he has no regrets as he said: “I’ve never regretted that decision. I’ve got 15 godchildren. Two of them are called Shaun, and I’m the best godfather in the world.”

Shaun also spoke fondly of his ex’s child, who he sees as a daughter. He opened up a bit about their relationship, telling Kaye and Karen: “I watched her grow into a lovely young lady. She got a first-class honours degree recently, and she got her doctorate the other day, and I was there.”

Shaun was initially coy to discuss his personal life on the podcast, as when the show hosts first hit him with questions about his love life, Shaun simply responded: “I suppose I’m married to my career. Put it that way. I like that. I prefer that and I’m happier.”

However, when they kept pushing the subject, he eventually confirmed, “Yes, I’m in a relationship.” The legal expert, who has been on The Chase since it first started airing in 2009, declined to share any further details about his significant other, though.

He recently made it clear that he does not have any plans to take a step back from either his legal career or his position as a Chaser, saying: “I’m celebrating 40 years in the job this year and I have no plans to retire at 65. I love it. I love quizzing too, so I will be doing that for as long as I can.

“I never take being on The Chase for granted. I know it could all end tomorrow, and I still pinch myself that we are celebrating our 15th anniversary this year.”

While he takes his job on The Chase seriously, Shaun did admit that participating in the quiz show is a “doddle” compared to representing his clients in front of “very stern” judges in the Court of Appeal.

  • Meghan Markle makes huge staff shake-up after brutal ‘Duchess Difficult’ claim

The Sussexes have have hired two new senior advisers as they continue to navigate post-royal life – and one of them has a close connection to Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates

There are some big changes underway at Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s office. It has been revealed that Meghan has appointed her first chief of staff – Sarah Fosmo, who will be her most senior adviser as she continues a new shift in career.

Sarah, 45, has an impressive CV; she previously worked for Gates Ventures, Bill Gates’ private office, in executive administration for six years. Before that, she spent seven years working for Tony Robbins, an American motivational speaker, as a senior executive assistant.

And she will now oversee Meghan during a period of immense professional change and growth, with the recent launch of her Netflix show, With Love, Meghan, and podcast, Confessions of a Female Founder, as well as the rebrand of her lifestyle company, As Ever.

Meanwhile, Prince Harry also has a new chief of staff after his last pick, Josh Kettler, left after his three-month trial period. Rather than bringing in a new replacement, one of Harry’s most senior members of staff, Lianne Cashin, a former executive assistant and Archewell’s head of operations, has been promoted to a ‘senior consultant’.

She will be responsible for guiding the Duke through the next stage of his post-royal career. According to the Telegraph, she will also have played a pivotal role in arranging Harry’s BBC interview last week, in which he spoke candidly about the ongoing rift with his father King Charles and complained of an “establishment stitch-up” after losing his legal appeal against the Government over security provision. A source told the publication: “Sarah and Lianne exemplify the strength and vision driving the Duke and Duchess forward.”

The insider further said that Harry and Meghan consider themselves fortunate to have two “exceptional leaders” in Ms Fosmo and Ms Cashin, adding: “Sarah, our proud senior hire as chief of staff for the Duchess of Sussex, brings a wealth of experience perfectly suited to guide the Sussexes’ ambitious ventures, including a new business, podcast, and television project. Her expertise and steady leadership are critical to navigating this dynamic period of growth.”

Ms Cashin, meanwhile, has become a valued consultant and provided “deep operational insight for key projects”. It follows various claims against the Sussexes regarding their staff’s tenure and their “apparent inability to attract and retain the right staff”.

Royal author Tom Quinn previously spoke to the Mirror about Josh Kettler’s departure and said his abrupt exit came as “no surprise”. He said: “In the years since Meghan and Harry married in 2018, they are estimated to have lost a staggering amount of key members of staff. One former employee told me the problem is that Meghan and Harry always assume that it is as easy to do something as it is to tell someone to do it. The couple hates being told something is just not possible.

“Kettler had been seen as having the golden touch. Harry believed his new chief of staff could reverse his declining popularity in the States and transform him into an internationally important figure. Anything less than that would not be acceptable.”

Tom further claimed that Mr Kettler’s departure had been a “serious blow” and not just because the couple were “now rudderless once again”. He added: “What makes Kettler’s departure really embarrassing for the royal couple is that word is beginning to get around and one or two people who have been approached by them have turned down the chance to work for them.

“The real issue is that Kettler’s departure reminds everyone that working for Meghan and Harry is a seemingly impossible task. They are just too demanding and always expect too much.”

But Kettler has since spoken out about his time working for the couple and had high praises. Speaking to US Weekly, Kettler, who had previously been chief of staff and head of strategic partnerships at the communication platform Cognixion, revealed what it was really like working for Harry and Meghan – and told how he was “warmly welcomed” by both of them and their Archewell team.

He added: “They are dedicated and hardworking. It was impressive to witness.” His comments last September came as a string of former and current employees spoke out in defence of Meghan after a report in the Hollywood Reporter labelled her “Duchess Difficult”.

After a few days, the star told fans she was “recovering well,” as she celebrated a huge milestone for her ITV show.

Taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, the star penned: “Thanx for all your lovely messages I’m recovering well. So proud of my top team – punching above our weight and bucking the trend. Just heard our ratings are up – we had the highest March for four years. Thanks @vixkennedy and the gang! Always know how to cheer me up.”

Zara Tindall admits to ‘struggles’ in Royal Family as Prince Harry begs for reunion

Princess Anne’s daughter has made some very rare comments about the difficulties facing the royal family in the wake of Prince Harry’s decision to give an explosive interview to the BBC

Days after Prince Harry gave another bombshell interview, his cousin Zara Tindall has spoken about the ‘struggles’ facing the royal family.

Harry is all but estranged from King Charles and Prince William after taking multiple swipes against his family in his book, interviews and TV shows. And now Zara has shared an insight on some of the drama going on behind the scenes.

Speaking at a London Sporting Club lunch last week, the 43-year-old daughter of Princess Anne addressed the perception of royal life from the outside. “It is very hard to see from the outside but, 100 per cent, it is a family that is still going through the same struggles other people do,” Zara said, as reported in The Sun. “Whether they are relationships, obviously it is very easy to see every day. We’re still very supportive of each other.”

Zara and Harry were once very close – but his decision to continue to air his grievances against his family have fractured the majority of his relationships. Zara and her family still have a very strong bond with the Wales family, however, with Mike Tindall forming a touching ‘brotherly relationship’ with Prince William.

Royal commentator Dickie Arbiter, a former Palace press secretary, believes their tight connection comes down to their similar personalities. “Mike is a pretty straight guy,” he told the Telegraph. “He’s down to earth, and William is too… They are two peas from the same pod, they’ve just had different upbringings. We’ve seen [this] time and again in William and Mike’s interactions. They are a proper family. They’re not playing at it,” he noted.

Mike also gets on really well with Princess Kate; she famously appeared with William on Mike’s The Good, The Bad and The Rugby podcast. And the two families love nothing more than spending time together, along with their young children.

Proud dad Mike, who is also a father of three, has developed a very sweet bond with George, Charlotte and Louis. He was seen showing his playful side when he made an ‘I’m watching you’ gesture to Prince Louis at the Platinum Jubilee celebrations. And he was pictured putting an affectionate arm around George’s shoulders on Christmas Day 2023, while his daughter Mia walked hand-in-hand with beaming Louis.

It comes after Prince Harry came under fire for giving an explosive interview to the BBC after losing his legal bid to have his UK police protection reinstated He said that there had been “so many disagreements” in the family, but the “only thing that’s left” is the row over his security – which he said had “always been the sticking point”.

“There is no point in continuing to fight anymore, life is precious,” he added. Harry also touched on the health of King Charles – something he has been heavily criticised for. The 76-year-old is undergoing treatment for cancer. Harry said: “I don’t know how much longer my father has – he won’t speak to me because of this security stuff but it would be nice to reconcile.”

He added “some members of my family will never forgive me” for writing his memoir Spare, and went on to say: “It would be nice to have that reconciliation part now. If they don’t want that, that’s entirely up to them.”

Warm and funny, the successful Olympian also recalled a Cinderella moment at the late Queen’s funeral vigil, when her shoe fell off and she considered getting Prince Harry to retrieve it.

Insisting the royals function “like any other family,” the daughter of Anne, The Princess Royal and Captain Mark Phillips said of King Charles’ Westminster Abbey coronation in May 2023: “I did not see it actually, where I was sat. He was around the corner. I could not see.”

Speaking at a £210-a-head charity dinner organised by The Sporting Club in London, she also confessed to an embarrassing wardrobe malfunction when she joined Queen Elizabeth’s other grandchildren for a vigil beside her coffin at Westminster Hall.

“Did you see my shoe fell off? The heels I was wearing for the vigil?” she asked guests.

“We were walking out, up the steps and I had tights on and my shoes were a little bit big. We were all walking up the steps and my shoe came off. William was in front of me and my brother was beside me.

“I went up the next step and I was like ‘Shall I pick it up…or shall I leave Harry to pick it up?’ So yeah, basically, I picked it up quick and I walked in. William came around the corner and said ‘What are you doing?’ I was like ‘I have lost my shoe!’”

And she blushed recalling the day in 2007 when she was awarded an MBE for her services to equestrianism – as she tried to remember which royal had presented it.

“Was it granny? I think it was. I can’t remember,’” she confessed . Please don’t tell anyone that I just said that…I will kill you.”

Mum to daughters Mia, 11, Lena, six, and son Lucas, four, Zara says seeing them become more like her is both good and bad.

“Obviously my personality is coming out in the children and there are some (characteristics) that you love and some that you don’t like. There is never a dull moment,” she said

One of her proudest moments in life was being awarded an Olympic silver medal, following her success at the London 2012 games, by her mum, Princess Anne – a fellow equestrian champion.

“My mum gave me the Olympic silver medal,” she said. “She was so proud and it was amazing to get it from her.

“It was incredible. I was like ‘do I kiss her or hug my mum?’

“There will always be a part of me that has slight regret in not getting a gold.

“That is how sporting people think. You don’t want to come second.”

Crediting her no-nonsense upbringing for her sporting success, she says having equestrian parents gave her a brilliant grounding.

“We grew up with horses and we were very lucky,” she said. “My dad was a coach for a long time but he was still in the sport. He is an incredible coach but he was also highly critical.

“There were very rare occasions when I got ‘that was good.’”

Her parents also had very different teaching techniques.

“They used to stand there when I was warming up. One would be on one side and one would be on the other,” said Zara.

“I used to go to one side and (mum) would say ‘don’t listen to your father’. She is very level headed and calm. He was like ‘you need to do more of this. You need to do more of that’. They had very different approaches.”

When it came to her sporting aspirations, Zara said of Princess Anne: “She was my biggest supporter.”

But she thinks sport has changed since her mum’s days in competition, adding: “There is more pressure now.”

Zara, crowned the BBC’s Sports Personality of the Year in 2007, admitted competing as a royal attracted additional scrutiny,

She said: “No-one would believe me but there were a lot of disadvantages. But the amazing thing about sport is that it is a level playing field.

“You have to run out and you have to perform. If you want to get on team you have to win. You have to be consistent. You cant fake it.”

Laughing about how some un-named senior royals only turn up for headline grabbing equestrian events to see her win big, she continued: “They only ever come out for the big ones. Those glory hunters.”

Proudly claiming to have more medals than her husband-of-nearly 14 years, former England rugby player Mike Tindall, 46, Zara revealed: “We have a little bar in our house and they are hanging above all the alcohol.”

Mike was in the 2003 Rugby World Cup-winning England side, but Zara added: “The Rugby World Cup is once every four years. For us (in equestrianism) there is more to win. England (rugby team) have only won it once!”.

Still enjoying great laughs together, Zara first met Mike in Sydney, Australia, when he was in the winning team back in 2003, at the Manly Wharf Bar.

She said: “It is a long story. I was out with some mates. We went out to watch the Rugby World Cup. It was when we were young enough to run away from life.

“I went out for an all day lunch with some girlfriends. We went around the harbour and they were all very drunk and were like ‘England are staying in that hotel’.

“I walked past the restaurant and I saw Austin Healey. The girls went to Austin and dropped my name and told him where they were going to be. He came out for a drink with us and he brought Mike and Martin Corrigan.

“Mikey, I thought was a bit boring actually. When Austin left and I was told ‘He wants to call you after the final’. I was like ‘that is a bit keen. They have not even got through the semis yet.’”

“Anyway, he messaged me the whole time like ‘Come for a drink, come for a drink’. I was actually hanging out with some of the All Blacks.

“At 8am I walked into this bar and all the England guys were in there and Mike was walking out with this girl and he was like ‘come for a drink’. I was like ‘I have got to go home.’ To this day he said that he only went and raided her fridge!”

Marrying in Edinburgh in a quiet ceremony in July 2011, Zara recalled some of Mike’s memorable moments – like when he bought a racehorse for £12,000 after a few drinks.

She said: “We went to Cheltenham and it was sales night. Horses were coming in and you bid on them. He had a few beers.

“Most people when they buy a horse check out what it has done. It was the last lot of the night and Mikey put his hand up and that was it. He was left buying this horse. Annoyingly it did not backfire. The horse ended up winning the Welsh Grand National and it was third in the Grand National. It was so annoying.”

On another occasion, she ordered guards at St James’s Palace to wake Mike up in her mother’s royal apartment after he was late for a rugby event following a night on the town.

She confessed: “He overslept and was staying at St James’s Palace. Our PR girl was like ‘where is he?’ I rang the police at St James’s and said ‘can you wake Mike up?’ He was in my mum’s flat. They let themselves in. He says they came in with guns.”

Mike, whose nose was battered by rugby matches, has now had corrective surger.

Zara said: “It is fixed now. Better than it was.”

As well as sharing a wicked sense of humour, Zara and Mike are hard workers and hope their kids follow in their footsteps.

She said: “Hopefully, you can instil in them (our children) the values that you hold and from both of us what we have learned from our careers and our hard work, dedication, motivations, lessons and respect.

“I hope that our children will learn as well. I want to make sure especially how life is now, it is so easy to be distracted from that kind of thing, so we try and work every day to make sure they get the same values that we had.

“I would love them to be involved in sport as it makes you a rounded person. That is what I want for them. I think every child in the whole country should be able to be open and be able to try every sport, at least one time.”

Katie Price has revealed her hopes to reconcile with ex-husband Peter Andre after their messy split in 2009. The former glamour model, 46, and Mysterious Girl singer Peter, 52, fell for each other after appearing on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! in 2004, with viewers watching their flirty relationship blossom in the jungle.

After leaving the jungle, the two were inseparable and secretly got engaged in May of the same year. They tied the knot in September 2005 and welcomed Junior and Princess Andre. Their whirlwind romance soon fell apart and they divorced in 2009, never to speak again, despite sharing two children.

Peter believed she had an affair with her dressage rider, Andrew Gould, which she denied as she shut down the claims during her chat with Celebs Go Dating expert Paul C Brunson on his podcast, We Need To Talk.

The split “wasn’t mutual at all” and Peter claimed at the time of their split he was “absolutely gutted” after Katie took their kids back to the Maldives villa where they’d spent their 2005 honeymoon.

Katie even admitted that the separation hadn’t been her choice. “Pete is the love of my life and my life. We have children together, and I am devastated and disappointed by his decision to separate and divorce me as I married him for life,” Katie told The Mirror at the time.

“This is not what I want, and the decision has been taken out of my hands. I will not comment further or do any interviews regarding the separation, but I will always love my Pete.”

And now, while speaking about her life and relationships with Paul, she shared her hopes to reconcile with her to work through their issues after not speaking to one another for 16 years. “You’ve not talked to Peter Andre – would you have a chat with him here?” Paul asked Katie, to which she honestly responded: “Yeah I would, there’d be sparks.”

Paul added: “If we can, we will make that happen because I think it would be incredible to reconcile that – it shouldn’t even be sparks.”

Discussing the reason for their split, Katie also said: “We broke up because he thought I was having an affair with my dressage rider, and I’ve never slept with him. I just kept my horse there, and I was happy keeping my horse there, and he was married.

“But when me and Pete split, because he used to keep saying, ‘That’s it. I’ve had enough. I’ve had enough’. It got to a point where I went, ‘Well f***ing divorce me’. And I remember the day, because then I flew to the Maldives with the kids.

“That day, I’m at the airport, it’s all on Sky News, it wasn’t mutual at all. And then I redone a statement saying I don’t want to split with Pete, it’s Pete that’s splitting with me.”
