Good Morning Britain staff left in fear as ITV show to face major change

ITV’s Good Morning Britain has been on the air since 2014 and has boosted the profiles of the likes of Susanna Reid and Piers Morgan – but the long-running series could be getting a major overhaul

There are fears of a “mutiny” at ITV over plans to revamp breakfast news show Good Morning Britain. The topical news show has been on the air since 2014 and features Susanna Reid, Richard Madeley and Kate Garraway as regular hosts.

However, things are tipped to change at the Television Centre in London, where the ITV show is filmed—and there will be a major “shake-up” over the way the show is filmed. It has been suggested that the overall aesthetic of the show could be changed to be more hard-hitting and in line with ITV’s news reports, which are produced by ITN.

It has been suggested that a new studio could be constructed to house the morning show, sparking alarm among staff that this could affect roles behind the scenes. Changes are said to be in consideration in the hope that the ITV show can overtake BBC Breakfast, which regularly pulls in over one million viewers each morning, compared to around 700,000 for GMB.

The suggestion of changes comes months after former ITV News boss Andrew Dagnell was appointed director of news and current affairs at ITV. While Unions reportedly expressed “concern” in a memo to staff.

The Daily Mail reported the rumours of changes with a source telling the outlet: “Obviously any talk of major change starts panic – lots of the staff were immediately worried about the security of their jobs.

“This is about streamlining ITV’s news output across the whole day, and having separate teams doubling up just doesn’t make sense. So it may well be that some correspondents end up appearing across the whole day’s schedule, rather than being specifically attached to GMB or ITV News.

“There could be a new set and a new feel, and a more continuous feel to ITV’s news bulletins throughout the whole day as a result. But people are very much likely to lose their jobs, so there is a lot of upset, anger and in some cases, mutiny.”

One of Good Morning Britain’s biggest stars was Piers Morgan who served as an anchor on the show from 2015 until 2021 and was known for his outspoken opinions. His inclusion on the show helped GMB reach some of its biggest ratings in it’s 11 years history.

However, he sensationally walked away from the show four years ago after hitting out at the Duke and Duchess of Sussex after they gave an interview with Oprah Winfrey. Piers sparked a backlash when he criticised Meghan Markle after she opened up about past mental health struggles during her interview.

Quitting the show, he later wrote on X: “On Monday, I said I didn’t believe Meghan Markle in her Oprah interview. I’ve had time to reflect on this opinion, and I still don’t. Freedom of speech is a hill I’m happy to die on.”

Piers has struggled to find steady work since leaving the ITV show, however, as he joined News UK’s TalkTV channel – only for the network to be wound down. He now broadcasts a show on YouTube.

Piers has enjoyed viral success, however – particularly with an interview with Scottish lawyer Fiona Harvey, who is suing Netflix as she claims she was defamed by their hit show Baby Reindeer.

  • Ruth Langsford’s huge decision after Eamonn Holmes split with surprise result

Ruth Langsford’s huge decision after Eamonn Holmes split with surprise result

Ruth Langsford is enjoying time with pals after realising there’s “life after Eamonn Holmes” – and now, a year on from the couple’s shock split, she’s vowed to have fun

    Ruth Langsford
Ruth Langsford is embracing life after heartbreak, a year on from her shock split from Eamonn

A year ago, her world was turned upside. But 12 months on, Loose Women presenter Ruth Langsford has turned heartache into happiness. At the start of 2024, Ruth’s life looked picture-perfect, to the outside world at least. She was a beloved daytime TV presenter, a devoted mum, and one half of British telly’s most enduring power couples. Yet behind the scenes, her 27-year relationship with Eamonn Holmes was crumbling, and on 25 May, the couple announced that they were in the “process of divorcing”, after 14 years of marriage.

But now, as the anniversary of her shock split from Belfast broadcaster Eamonn looms, a source claims that Ruth, 65, has not only turned a corner, but is happy, at peace and embracing single life on her own terms. The source tells OK!, “Ruth has had a tough year – but actually, she’s realised a lot of unexpected positives have come out of it. She’s really coming into her own now and is putting the heartache behind her.”

The Loose Women star has leaned on close pals like Rylan and Lizzie Cundy for support – and to let her hair down(Image: Instagram)

“She’s learnt how to let her hair down and about the power of friendship – you learn who your friends are when you have a year from hell, and she has people around her who love and support her.”

“It’s not what she would have wanted, of course it’s not. Divorce wasn’t in her grand life plan. But she’s realising that there’s a brilliant, exciting life after Eamonn. She’s really put the work in on herself, and she is looking amazing after her glow-up! It’s been heartbreaking, but now she’s excited about the future.”

The cracks in Ruth and Eamonn’s union began to show when Ruth was reportedly left “devastated” after it was alleged that Eamonn, also 65, was secretly in contact with another woman. This led to a showdown, after which Ruth is reported to have found messages on Eamonn’s laptop that shocked her – and confirmed her worst fears, particularly as she had been caring for him.

He is still battling health issues following years of back problems and surgery. “Ruth was completely taken by surprise when she saw the messages,” a source told The Sun at the time. “She had no idea what had been going on between them. She was devastated.”

Despite that bombshell, Ruth remained dignified in public, focusing on work and the couple’s 23-year-old son, Jack. But behind the scenes, the divorce process dragged on, with rumours that there was even a bitter custody battle over their dog Maggie.

Ruth stood by Eamonn – even during his health troubles

While Eamonn went public with his new relationship with 43-year-old relationship counsellor Katie Alexander in September, as the pair embarked on a cruise from Barcelona, Ruth took a different approach. She returned to Loose Women in July after an extended break and continued to build her successful QVC fashion line – from which reports suggest she took home £2.5 million in a year.

Ruth also leaned on her close friends for support and some much-needed fun, including Lizzie Cundy and Rylan Clark. Earlier this year, the famous pals were spotted enjoying a night out in London, with Ruth showcasing her dance moves and letting loose amid thestress of the divorce.

But, adjusting to her single life hasn’t been easy. In a candid interview in February, Ruth talked about the challenges of her split – but was full of grit, too. “Relationship breakdowns are very difficult, but you deal with it and have to move on. You can let yourself crumble or you pick yourself up and get on with life. It’s a choice.”

She also reflected on the difficulties of going through a public divorce. “Divorce is very painful. Most don’t do it in the public eye, with everybody having an opinion. But that’s the nature of my job.” Despite the heartache, Ruth said she remained optimistic about the future. “I’m quite fine being on my own, but not forever,” she said.

With her telly career going strong, fashion line booming, her besties by her side and a sparkle back in her smile, Ruth has weathered the year from hell like a pro – and now it’s time for some sunshine after the rain…

EXCLUSIVE: Denise Welch has shared the truth behind ongoing claims she and her Loose Women co-stars are often caught up in arguments behind the scenes of the ITV show

Denise Welch has revealed the truth behind claims of a feud on Loose Women. The actress and broadcaster often appears on the ITV1 panel show alongside the likes of co-stars Janet Street-Porter, Jane Moore, Nadia Sawlha, Coleen Nolan, Ruth Langsford and GK Barry.

But each week, the show is plagued by speculation that the women are at loggerheads with one another following disagreements on the panel. The panel are often locked in disagreements on certain topics, with Denise, 66, often furiously defending Prince Harry and his wife Meghan Markle when the Sussexes are criticised on the show.

“When it first started, it was never a staple of the daytime schedules like it is now. It was on for three months, off for three months. Then another programme came along and notched it down to half an hour, which the racing still does – but we’ve got our place.”

Speaking exclusively to the Mirror, Denise added: “I’m very proud to be part of it – and not just because it’s a female-led show, because our age range ranges from 25 to 85! We’ve got GK Barry at 25 and Gloria [Hunniford] at 85. What other show not only employs older women reveres and celebrates the voices of older women.

“There’s life in these old girls yet. We don’t care what Doris from Darlington on Twitter says. We’ve worn every T-shirt, we’ve rewashed it and re-ironed it and put it back in the drawer. Older women’s voices are so important, and I’m very proud to be a part of a show that continues to celebrate that.”

Denise explained that social media trolls often claim that she and Nadia make the programme about themselves

On the programme, Denise and the panel are not afraid to touch on heavy news but always find a balance, later discussing “something light and fluffy.” She explained: “There’s nothing really that we avoid talking about,” adding that the show is different to others as other presenter-led shows see the presenter remaining impartial. Denise used co-star Charlene White as an example, who has to be impartial while presenting on ITV News.

“Our show is anecdotal and opinion-led,” she said. When questioned about viewers nitpicking herself and Nadia, Denise joked it is “about us” as they sign up to voice their opinions on the show, but admits it can be “hard” to put themselves out there as they know people will instantly have an opinion.

She added: “Depending on what we are, we are four very opinionated strong women. Just because we disagree, doesn’t mean we’re in a feud, which drives me mad.” Speaking about any type of feud which may have happened over the years, Denise revealed: “I have never and I will honestly say, hand on heart, in 23 years, I have never had an argument with anybody on that show.”

“If we didn’t have discussions and debate, it would be a very boring show,” she explained. Denise added: “There’s got to be dissension in the ranks, and sometimes, if there’s a topic that I’m not very passionate about, I will often, for the fun of it, play devil’s advocate. Because I feel it needs that sometimes needs to spur debates. We all get on absolutely fine, and we all see each other. Some people are closer than others. We all have geographic boundaries as well; we don’t all just live in London all of the timeI’m very proud to be a part of it!”

The actress who has also appeared in Coronation Street recently revealed that going sober 13 years ago was the “best decision” she and her husband, Lincoln Townley, had ever made. But after ditching alcohol, which she says was a “momentous point” in their lives, she later realised that she realised she may be swapping alcohol for food addiction due to an “addictive personality”. Denise revealed to the Mirror: “I very quickly realised that I was in danger of swapping alcohol addiction for food addiction.”

The star went on to say that “all of the bad things” in her life had kept her slim without her trying – including alcohol and depression. “That stops me from eating when I’m having an episode, suddenly, the alcohol and the bad things were taken out of my life, I realised I was starting to replace alcohol with food,” she said.

Denise said that she found herself “bingeing” and eating “way past” her full point, but it was never enough. She revealed she had started secretly eating, heading to the kitchen for food, and hiding chocolate. But she later realised that she didn’t need to hide it from her family, as her husband, Lincoln and youngest, Hotel Portofino star son, Louis, didn’t care.

“Nobody cared – so why am I doing everything so secretly? Guiltily, like I used to drink,” she said. After Lincoln proposed to Denise, she realised she had put on two stones in “not a very long time”. She explained that while she realised some people often look to lose a significant amount of weight, the two stone to her was a great deal.

Explaining, she said: “It wasn’t just how aesthetically it made me look, because I carry a lot of my weight on my face, so it becomes very noticeable. I’m on television several times a week – and that’s not a very flattering medium, so I was aware of it there but it was also the fact I’ve never been super fit but I was aware it was impairing my breathing.”

But the realisation hit Denise while she was appearing in a theatre production in Kingston with Keith Allen. Recalling the moment, she said: “I tripped and fell on Kingston Bridge. I went to see this knee doctor and he said, ‘You’ve got osteoarthritis and you need to lose weight’. I thought ‘my God, I didn’t think I had that much of a problem’, the breathing and stuff was due to a sleep apnea problem that wasn’t caused by, but isn’t helped by, weight gain.”

Denise praised the programme for the diverse range of ages on the show, with the youngest, GK Barry, being 25 and Gloria Hunniford being 85

After discussing her plans to lose weight for her wedding, she was “inundated” by diet firms to front their campaigns. But it was a decision she made with Lincoln, who was also keen on losing weight. They decided on LighterLife as it was the only weight loss company which spoke about changing the relationship with food.

The company, for which Denise is an ambassador, uses mental approaches, such as CBT (cognitive behavioural therapy), group therapy or mentorship, and physical approaches. At first, she admits being wary about going to the group therapy as she didn’t want “all eyes” to be on her, but it was Lincoln who encouraged her to go along.

“I’m ever so grateful that I did, that first meeting changed my life,” she exclaimed. Although she says she would have lost weight in other ways, she admits she may have “piled it back on”, due to being a human whose weight fluctuates throughout life. “I always know that I’ve got the tools, the CBT tools to get me back on board,” she said, explaining that there are four processes that she can put in place.

After losing the two stone, Denise used her CBT skills to pack smoking in, something she took up when she was 16. She explained: “By applying the same CBT techniques to cigarettes, and that helped me, come off those as well. So they are treasured tools.” Denise has been a LighterLife ambassador for 13 years and still checks in with her doctor, Dr Kelly. “I have seen LighterLife and the mentors not only change people’s lives, but people’s lives,” she explained before adding: “I am a fervent believer that this works.”

Although Denise admits she has no medical experience, she believes that LighterLife does work, having seen firsthand how thousands of people have benefited from it. She often carries some of the LighterLife food around with her due to her hectic work schedule, with her favourite being the porridge and salted caramel chocolate bars. “I would say to give it a try and the help of working with these trained mentors who are there for you is life changing, it’s an incredible, supportive community,” she explained.

Meanwhile, Denise’s doctor, Dr Kelly, shed light on the rising topic of diets on social media. She said: “The problem with social media weight loss trends is that often they’re not nutritionally complete, not effective nor sustainable, and often they can be downright dangerous.

“Alongside a nutritious, evidence-based, clinically effective weight loss plan, LighterLife helps you gain the tools required to silence that ‘food noise’ and successfully manage your weight in the longer term.” Dr Kelly went on to explain that LighterLife’s diet plan has used an “evidence-based solution”, explaining: “Unless you engage with a programme which is designed to support both the physical and the psychological changes needed to help you better manage your weight, which includes diet and tools to address ‘food noise’ then you are far less likely to be successful.”

Following Stacey’s snub at the BAFTAs, she expressed her frustration for the hard-working team behind Sort Your Life Out, which lost out to Rob Rinder and Rylan Clark’s travel show

Stacey Solomon’s “out of character” BAFTAs rant caused “horror” to BBC execs, who are worried her “entitled” Instagram video could be a “disaster” for her image. The mum-of-five even divided her usually adoring fan base with her comments, which came to light after her BBC show Sort Your Life Out failed to win at the BAFTAs last week.

The star’s reality show, which sees her help individuals to get rid of clutter and feel more organised in their homes, had been up for a BAFTA for Factual Entertainment. But Stacey was left “devastated” when her team lost out on the win, with Rob and Rylan’s Grand Tour scooping the gong instead.

Stacey couldn’t keep her disappointment under wraps, instead sharing her feelings on Instagram with her followers. And it was then the tide started to turn against Stacey, with some fans and even Stacey herself admitting she didn’t take the loss “gracefully”.

And Stacey’s frank confession isn’t the first time recently that the cracks may be starting to show. With reports of her and husband Joe Swash arguing in the street plus their admission that they’re going to marriage counselling – one BBC exec has hinted the “gloss” is coming off for the broadcaster’s golden girl.

Joe and Stacey recently revealed they are attending marriage counselling

The Mail reports a BBC source said: “Stacey is television gold. She has made herself so appealing to young adults. It’s a BBC priority to attract the 18-to-30 age group and Stacey was the right person to do this, hence why she was given her fly-on-the-wall show. She’s seen as normal, relatable and a good laugh.

So when she put her video up on Monday morning there was some horror here. It felt entitled and was all very out of character.”

They added that although they accept she was frustrated for her team, other teams “all work hard, too.” They added that the sweet image that powers Stacey’s popularity could be unravelling, which “would be a disaster for the BBC.” The Mirror has contacted Stacey’s rep and the BBC for comment.

Stacey’s now controversial video was filmed herself in her garden at Pickle Cottage the morning after the BAFTAs. She shared: “I’ll be honest, I’m devastated. I’m not handling it very well, not taking it very gracefully, I’m so gutted for our team.”

The Loose Women presenter added: “It’s not an easy show to make… the team works so hard to make it happen, and they so deserve a Bafta. People think making TV is really easy, and it’s not.

“We all pack up a house, and within seven days, that house is packed into vans, over to a warehouse, laid out on the floor. We go through it meticulously.

“We donate, we recycle, we resell, put it all back and try and put in systems to help families move forward.” Although the image of Stacey’s idyllic life may be starting to fade, her relatability and down-to-earth persona is what makes her so adored.

OK! magazine reports that Stacey has an “inferiority complex” and has taken recent events to heart. A source told the mag: “The negative comments really upset her, she takes them to heart. She never wants to be seen as ungrateful, because she’s not. She had a really humble upbringing and everything she does, she does to give her kids the best opportunities possible. They are what drives her.”

EXCLUSIVE: Victoria Beckham will reportedly not address the ongoing Beckham family feud in her upcoming Netflix series as she wants to ‘shy away from family drama’

    The Beckhams
Victoria Beckham’s Netflix series is set to air giving an “exclusive behind-the-scenes look” at her business and family

The Beckham family feud has had us gripped but if you thought that Victoria was going to address the strained relations in her upcoming Netflix show, you’re going to be disappointed. Our sources tell us the Spice Girl will stay clear of the row in her hotly-anticipated reality series. “It’s already causing deep upset within the family so Posh has vowed not to allow details of the personal matter to be aired on TV to escalate any issues,” says our insider. Mum-of-four Victoria, 51, has had camera crews following her in recent months as part of a multi million pound deal with Netflix. The show focuses on her fashion achievements and career as well as balancing family life. During filming for the series, divisions have opened between eldest son Brooklyn, 26, wife Nicole, 30, his brother Romeo, 22, and his parents. It’s seen Brooklyn avoid all dad David’s recent 50th celebrations.

“Cameras have been following Victoria for nine months,” explained the source. “They have footage for potential use where Brooklyn and Nicole were present. They also have it from David’s parties and moments building up to the celebrations. It is unclear whether they will feature in the Netflix show.” Victoria and David celebrated his 50th birthday surrounded by his loving family and A-list pals at events in London, the Cotswolds and Paris. But for each of those big get togethers Brooklyn and his wife were absent. The Netflix insider says that “as far as we are aware” Brooklyn will feature in the show, as Victoria references her motherhood journey – but the family rift will be left alone. An insider said: “The drama within the family will not be addressed in any significant way. This has elements of a reality series, but it is not going to be the Real Housewives Of Beckham Manor! Cameras have followed Victoria around over the last few months, so to viewers it may become evident who was there and who was not.” David’s own production company Studio 99 is making the show so the Beckhams have a lot of control over the project. “David and Victoria want Brooklyn in their lives and would feel they’d not behaved fairly to air any dirty laundry in a show like this. Their stance is that they will shy away from any of these matters.” A clip for the upcoming series showed Posh explaining her decision to pivot from a successful music career into fashion. Teasing some of the drama which audiences are expected to see this autumn, Posh is seen facing disaster as one of her biggest fashion events after a downpour made the outside runway treacherous.

Despite the risk, she decides to proceed, cautioning her models about the treacherous runway. Cheering her on from the front row are her supportive husband David and their children.

Netflix promises “an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at Victoria’s business, access to Victoria, her family, those closest to her and her fashion journey and including never-before-seen archive, the series will tell the story of Victoria’s reinvention as a Creative Director of her own brand.“ It comes after the streamer enjoyed huge critical success and bagged an Emmy with David’s series about his astonishing football career. Becks revealed it took ages to convince his wife to sign up to do her own show.

The streaming giant’s documentary aims to reveal more than just Victoria’s success in the industry but also explore her motivations and challenges.

This intimate portrayal follows the successful Beckham documentary by Netflix, released in 2023, which chronicled David Beckham’s illustrious career, reports the Express.

David himself shared on the Today show that he encouraged Victoria to embark on her own Netflix venture.

He stated: “In my opinion, she was the star of mine. So I just thought, ‘This is the opportunity’.

“She’s been working on her brand for the last 18 years. She’s unbelievably hard working, and no one gets to see that. So I convinced her to let people actually see what she does every day and what goes into her business.”

He added, “She’s a very clever and hard-working lady, so I want people to see that.”

It was a intense night as fans waited to see who won as Israel and Austria battled it out as the top two. Austria’s JJ performed Wasted Love while controversial Israeli entrant was runner up.

The singer, real name Johannes Pietsch, went for a black and white staging in Basel, Switzerland, which looked like a boat trip as he sang about someone he cared about being overwhelmed.

“I want to thank my entire family, my entire team, thank you so much for making my dreams come true. And especially to you Europe, thank you for making my dreams come true,” JJ said.

“Love is the strongest force in the world. Let’s spread more love. Thank you so much.” He then performed ‘Wasted Love’ again.

Viewers took to social media to comment, as one said on X: “Thank f**k for that !! Well done Austria.” Another said: “Phew, well done Austria.”

Other notable performances included Maltese singer Miriana Conte with Serving, which was renamed from Kant due to its resemblance to a swearword, and Switzerland’s Zoe Me with the powerful Voyage.

Earlier, 2024 Swiss winner Nemo returned to the Eurovision stage to perform The Code in a full-length white dress, following an opening sketch featuring a Mission Impossible-style quest to find the trophy, before it was handed over to the hosts.

It all happened so quickly, but we are so blessed that they are here with us, healthy and fighting strong! We’ve never felt more in love. Everybody meet Ocean Jade Nelson-Foster and Story Monroe Nelson-Foster. Born on 15.05.2025.”

Friends of the couple flocked to the comments to share their congratulations, with Safiyya Vorajee writing: “Oh how my heart just filled up with love for you all, congratulations welcome to the world babies you are so special, beautiful names, now it’s time to soak up all the love and start your new chapter with love health and happiness so happy for you all.”

While Luke Hamnett commented: “Congratulations my lovely.”

One of many fans wrote: “They’re absolutely precious, so are their names. Congratulations & welcome to the World, sweet girls.”

Jesy has documented her difficult and emotional pregnancy for fans.

Former Little Mix star Jesy, 33, had emergency surgery in April after the babies developed twin-to-twin transfusion syndrome – a rare condition which could have been fatal for one or both twins.

After her operation, Jesy said: “We feel so grateful and blessed that these little babies are still going strong,”

And thankfully the twins progress has been positive throughout the remainder of the pregnancy.

In May Jesy had posted black and white photos of herself with a giant bump and new scans of her twins. She wrote: “Muma Nelson and Papa Foster” and added a heart emoji. In another set of photos she dubbed Zion “my husband”.

Jesy from Romford, East London, shot to fame on ITV’s The X Factor in 2011 and stayed in Little Mix until 2020.

She has been dating Zion, from South London, since November 2022 and in May he ran the London Marathon to raise money for the Twins Trust, which offers support to families with twins.

Speaking in the only interview during her pregnancy, Zion had said of the twins: “They’re giving us so much hope they’re going to come out healthy.

“Jesy and the twins have come through so much. There were so many times in this pregnancy we didn’t think we’d get to where we are now.

““Their strength has been unmatched. We literally feel like we know them already just because of how much they’ve overcome.

“Their characters are so strong. They’re so brave.”

Zion also said their recent ordeal living in a hospital in order to monitor the twins’ progress has brought them closer together.

“We’ve literally grown to understand each other on a deeper level. And I think we really understand how much we actually care about each other.

“I think it’s at these times when you really, really know what love you have and what your relationship means.

“And I think for me and Jess, this has just taken it to a whole other level of us knowing we are literally made for each other.”

Jesy joins other Little Mix members who are already mothers. In 2021, Perrie Edwards and Leigh-Anne Pinnock both gave birth to babies within a week of each other. Perrie welcomed a son named Axel with her fiancé Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain. Leigh-Anne welcomed twins with her husband Andre Gray.

Jesy and Zion have received thousands of messages of support from the public since they spoke about the twins’ struggles during the pregnancy.

Zion said Jesy regularly read them and they were a source of comfort during the pregnancy.

Speaking last month he told the Mirror: “It’s really been incredible, the level of support. It’s been absolutely incredible.

“And I think just massive, massive, massive credit to Jesy, because obviously when these kinds of things happen, it’s very difficult to actually share that.

“But Jess had the courage to say: ‘You know what? I want to put this story out there. I want to let people in. I want people to know it’s not just about sharing the good moments. I want people to know the reality.’

“And just to see the response, people’s support, the amount of messages that just flooded in daily.

“Even after the operation, Jess was recovering and we didn’t say anything for a while, people were asking: ‘Oh, is everything OK?’

“I think it’s just been just so touching, and I don’t know if the word is ‘motivational’, but it just really keeps us going.

“It helps our frame of mind and helps us just keep going day by day, just feeling supported and feeling love.”

The BBC are reported to have received a complaint about disgraced news anchor Huw Edwards over a decade before his sentencing, it has been claimed

A dossier of emails sent to the BBC has reportedly revealed that a complaint was made against shamed newsreader Huw Edwards all the way back in 2012.

Last September, the Welsh broadcaster was given a six-month prison sentence, suspended for two years, after he admitted charges of making indecent images of children.

It came months after the news broke that Huw was alleged to have paid a young person for sexually explicit photos.

Now, according to The Sunday Times, an email was sent to BBC director-general Tim Davie an hour before Huw was sentenced in September, which claimed that a complaint was made about Huw all the way back in 2012, in the aftermath of the Jimmy Savile scandal.

The email, which was obtained by the Times under the Freedom of Information (FoI) Act, was from a former BBC employee. They are said to have detailed how a complaint had been made against the newsreader a decade before his suspension.

It reportedly read: “The reason for my email to you is just to flag that there is a high probability that this complaint was documented somewhere but was (by recollection) to have been deemed non-actionable.’

They added that the complaint was “Not necessarily a criminal allegation” and said “I have no real specifics I can offer you – other than it exists”.

Tim allegedly responded three minutes later with an email thanking the ex-employee and explaining he would share it with the team.

The Times requested all of the email correspondence between the BBC’s senior executives, dated from Huw’s arrest to the day after he was sentenced. Six months later, they were granted the information and given access to nearly 200 pages of emails.

The emails are also said to have uncovered that Huw offered to pay back some of his salary from the BBC between the time of his arrest and his resignation from the broadcaster.

However, Huw is yet to repay any of the money back, with a BBC spokesperson confirming to Mirror, “The BBC believes that Huw Edwards should return the money paid to him by the BBC, covering the period between his arrest and his resignation.”

Huw, who was the presenter of the BBC News At Ten for two decades, was known as the corporation’s highest-paid newsreader but later found himself at the centre of a scandal when The Sun claimed that a presenter had given payments to a young person for sexually explicit images.

Not naming Huw at first, many presenters such as Rylan Clark and Jeremy Vine were quick to clear up that the reports were not aimed at them.

Over a month after the news broke, Huw’s wife, TV producer Vicky Flind, named him as the person behind the reports and issued a statement claiming that he was “suffering from serious mental health issues”.

Describing it as “difficult days” for their family, Vicky explained how Huw had been “treated for severe depression” in recent years.

Melvin Odoom is best known for his TV and radio work, going on to appear on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! last year

Melvin Odoom has confirmed his relationship status after being linked to a Married At First Sight star. The TV presenter was rumoured to be in a relationship with 27-year-old Lacey Martin who found fame on the reality show.

However, he has since confirmed that he is currently single and is not seeing Lacey. Earlier in the year, it was said that the 44-year-old had his eye on Lacey as they got close at a party in London in February.

It was thought that Lacey was Melvin’s special guest and has been messaging each other weeks before. Before this he was also linked to other TV stars such as Carol Vorderman after expressing an interest in her while he was on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! last year.

But it has since been reported by The Sun that Melvin is single. Melvin was asked about his relationship status on the red carpet at the 2025 BAFTA TV Awards as he explained: “No [I’m not dating her]. I am just a friendly guy! I am a single pringle – no mingling! I am just focusing on my work.”

Melvin previously admitted that he had his eye on the former Countdown host Carole Vorderman, saying that she was his ultimate celebrity crush while he appeared on I’m A Celeb. As a result, Carol decided to leave Melvin a flirty voicemail as the public started to believe they might be an item.

The two of them were then seen spending time with each other in March not long after Melvin said that she had ignored a text from him. Speaking to fellow I’m A Celebrity campmate GK Barry on her Saving Grace podcast she asked Melvin: “Carol Vorderman. Have you had any update on that?”

Melvin then explained: “I’ll tell you the truth. I sent her a message saying, ‘Thanks for being a great sport but here’s my number. Give me a little call’.

“She’s not read it. It’s been three weeks. Why would you not even just read it? It’s just been left there and I check it once a week. And I’m like, ‘Oh, okay…’.”

While Melvin was competing on the ITV show, Carol sent him a cheeky voicemail to wish him luck. She said: “Melvin, I’m blushing redder than that leather red dress I’m wearing on your pillowcase. But I’ll be rooting for you all the way through, and see you on the other side.”

Melvin has always kept his private life on the down low. However, he revealed that he’s open to love wherever he might find it. In a YouTube interview last year, he said: “Dating is hard. For me, don’t shut yourself off from anything because your potential partner could be anywhere. You have to chill and go with the flow, you can’t control love.”

Beauty buffs, fragrance fans and skincare enthusiasts will tell you if there’s one brand that does summer well, it’s Sol de Janeiro. The brand, inspired by Brazilian beach culture, has a host of cult favourite products and the latest celebrity to declare her love for them is Zara McDermott.

The former Love Island star replied to a comment on her Instagram that asked: “Your legs always look so glossy and smooth, what moisturiser or lotion do you use?” She shared that her secret to summer-ready legs is using the Sol de Janeiro Bum Bum Cream mixed with the Sol de Janeiro Bum Bum Body Firmeza Oil.

In good news for shoppers, both products are currently on sale at LookFantastic – the cream was £21 and is now £18.90 and the oil was £52 and now £41.60. That makes them cheaper there than at Boots, Sephora and Cult Beauty. Sol de Janeiro are arguably best known for how ‘delicious’ their products smell, scented with notes of pistachio, salted caramel and vanilla with the same being said for Zara’s go-to buys.

The Sol de Janeiro Brazilian Bum Bum Cream is enriched with guaraná extract, cupuaçu butter, açaí oil and coconut oil, to deliver deep hydration and nourishment to the skin. It locks in moisture and gives a radiant glow. The flattering sheen is boosted when mixed and applied, like Zara does, with the Sol de Janeiro Bum Bum Body Firmeza Oil.

Thanks to a blend of microalgae extract and Brazilian olive oil, the oil’s formula evens skin tone and gives the skin a noticeably tighter-looking appearance. It’s also powered by a Guarana Caffeine+ complex for long-lasting moisture to give your legs Zara’s silky smooth finish.

Sol de Janeiro’s Brazilian Bum Bum Cream has built up a loyal following, with hundreds of glowing reviews being left on the LookFantastic website. One person said: Always get compliments when I use this moisturiser – smells amazing and everyone else can smell it too.”

Another user wrote: “Absorbs straight into my skin I have been using this for 3 weeks and what a difference…my cellulite is disappearing…my skin looks and feels plumper and more toned…first time I’ve bought a firming cream and seen visible results….I now need the massive tub..totally converted.”

However, not everyone is a fan of the cream and one person shared, ‘for me personally, it didn’t live up to the hype. Smelt too strong and perfumed for me’, and someone else said: “The scent is really strong and sweet. More like a sticky sweet, which reminds me of toffee. You can’t use perfume with it, because it will be too much. “

The Sol de Janeiro Bum Bum Body Firmeza Oil has similar top-rated reviews with shoppers saying it makes their skin ‘feel like new’. One person shared: “No words to say, my new obsession!! Oil fast absorbing, leaving my skin so moisturised and healthy glowing. Smell is amazing, not too overpowered. Highly recommending!!”

Another said it doubles up as fragrance, writing: “Got it on discount and I absolutely love using it, the smell is amazing reminds me of holidays and is a great pick me up, keeps skin on body feeling soft and supple (I also use it as my perfume for work).” Some users did ‘expect more’, saying they ‘haven’t noticed any difference in my skin.’

The products have been compared to the results from using Bio Oil. If you want to try it or re-stock, Boots has reduced a 125ml bottle from £17.99 to £13.49. Elsewhere, the I Heart Revolution Tropical Trip Body Cream Trio is ideal for travelling, containing three mini pots of body cream for £12.

For those who can’t get enough of Sol de Janeiro, they’ve launched a new Cheirosa 48 Perfume Mist that’s perfect for summer. With top notes of sparkling pink pepper and lemon, balanced with plucky, punchy florals and sugary candy floss and vanilla notes, it can be yours for £38 from LookFantastic and you’ll get a free Bum Bum Cream.
