Former ITV’s This Morning presenter Eamonn Holmes, who now fronts a GB News show, and his new girlfriend, Katie Alexander, have finally gone Instagram official after months together

GB news presenter Eamonn Holmes and his girlfriend, Katie Alexander, have gone Instagram official after months of low-key holidays and date nights. Katie, 43, who is a marriage counsellor, took to her Instagram page to share a reel of her recent day out with the 65-year-old former ITV presenter as they went to a park.

With The Levellers’ song What a Beautiful Day playing over it, Katie, captioned selection of photos: “Lovely weather…. Lovely company,” along with the sun emoji. In one photo, Katie rested her chin on Eamonn’s shoulders as they posed for the camera. Both rocked sunglasses as they soaked up the sunshine.

Another showed the blonde beauty rocking a polka dot dress as she posed in the sunshine with her pooch, Dottie, and Eamonn, who was in a wheelchair. The new snaps came not long after it was claimed their relationship could already be in trouble.

It was thought that the new couple could be facing some issues as Katie reportedly refused to move in with Eamonn. The marriage counsellor chose to stay living in Yorkshire due to co-parenting her two teenagers with her ex-husband.

This meant that she wouldn’t be moving to London to spend more time with Eamonn, who now lives in a penthouse flat in Kingston after moving out of his house he shared with Ruth Langsford.

Eamonn and Ruth were together for 14 years before they called time on their relationship last spring. The former couple had been together since 1996 and married since 2010.

The pair have been quiet about their split but it was reported that the the divorce has been “very painful” for Ruth.

Ruth previously opened up about the split in rare comments about the break-up as she told Woman and Home Magazine: “A break-up of a relationship is hard enough for anybody to deal with.

“A divorce is very difficult and it’s very painful, but most people don’t have to do it in the public eye, with everybody having an opinion about you and writing things about you and commenting things about you.

“But that’s the nature of my job. I’ve always had that and if you can’t cope with that, you shouldn’t be doing this job. I’m quite fine being on my own, but not forever.

“When you’re in a relationship, it’s easy to say, ‘Great, I’ve got a weekend to myself,’ but when you think that might be every weekend, it’s a different story.”

The former This Morning power couple released a blunt statement last May as they announced their split, which said: “Ruth Langsford and Eamonn Holmes have confirmed their marriage is over and they are in the process of divorcing.”

Good Morning Britain viewers couldn’t help but notice that hosts Richard Madeley and Susanna Reid showcased some worrying changes in their behaviour this morning following the news that ITV bosses will be making huge cuts to daytime TV scheduling.

On Tuesday morning, it was announced that ITV daytime will look very different in a few months with huge changes coming to shows including Good Morning Britain. The ITV news and magazine shows usually run from 6am to 1.30pm weekdays and include the breakfast show followed by Lorraine, This Morning and Loose Women.

From January 2026, Good Morning Britain will be extended by 30 minutes to run from 6am to 9.30am daily. While Lorraine Kelly’s show has been cut in half and will now run from 9.30am until 10am. Not only that, but the programme will only air for 30 weeks of the year.

During the weeks Lorraine is not on air, Good Morning Britain will run from 6am to 10am. This Morning will remain in its 10am-12.30pm slot on weekdays throughout the year, while Loose Women will be in the 12.30-1.30pm slot for a seasonal basis of 30 weeks too.

Following the announcement, eagle-eyed ITV viewers spotted a change in energy in Susanna, 54, as she returned to present the show this morning alongside Richard, 69. Taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, to share their reactions, one viewer wrote: “Anyone else notice Susanna Reid’s energy is WAY off this morning? Something is not right… #GMB #ITV.”

Another echoed: “Susanna Reid looked like she was just going through the motions today. Where’s the spark gone?? #GoodMorningBritain.” Someone else wrote: “First all the ITV shake-ups… now Susanna looks like she’s about to quit live on air. I’m stressed. #GMB.”

Another viewer added: “Susanna Reid looking like she’s aged 10 years overnight. ITV better not be pushing her out too.”

    Viewers said Richard looked 'worried'

“Richard Madeley looks WORRIED. And I can’t say that I feel sorry for him,” someone else quipped. While another ITV viewer speculated: “Between the weird silences and Susanna’s “I’ve had enough” eyes, it’s clear things are NOT okay behind the scenes. What is going on at ITV?? #GMB”

It comes after Kevin Lygo, Managing Director of ITV’s Media and Entertainment Division, explained of the huge changes: “Daytime is a really important part of what we do, and these scheduling and production changes will enable us to continue to deliver a schedule providing viewers with the news, debate and discussion they love from the presenters they know and trust as well generating savings which will allow us to reinvest across the programme budget in other genres.

“These changes also allow us to consolidate our news operations and expand our national, international and regional news output and to build upon our proud history of trusted journalism at a time when our viewers need accurate, unbiased news coverage more than ever. I recognise that our plans will have an impact on staff off screen in our Daytime production teams.”

He added: “We will work with ITV Studios and ITN as they manage these changes to produce the shows differently from next year, and support them through this transition. Daytime has been a core element of ITV’s schedule for over 40 years and these changes will set ITV up to continue to bring viewers award winning news, views and discussion as we enter our eighth decade.”

The expanded Good Morning Britain will see a mix of news, interviews, debate and competitions as well as more regional news and more investigations as well as more analysis of the biggest stories of the day.

GMB will be made by a special team within ITV News at ITN whilst Lorraine, This Morning and Loose Women will continue to be produced by ITV Studios. It will be broadcast from a new location in central London. ITV Studios is now working with its Daytime teams that will see the three shows produced by one team sharing resources and operations.

Loose Women will air at the same time as usual but only for 30 weeks of the year. Following the announcement, it has been said that the panellists are ‘stressed and angry’

The Loose Women stars are said to be ‘in a state of panic and up in arms’ after it was revealed the ITV show will air beween 12.30pm and 1.30pm like usual but only for 30 weeks of the year like Lorraine.

ITV recently announced that Lorraine’s show will just air between 9.30 and 10am each day for 30 weeks of the year, in line with other seasonal presenters. As a result Good Morning Britain will be extended until 9.30am each day and when Lorraine is not on air, the show will be extended until 10am with This Morning airing after in its usual slot.

    Loose Women
Loose Women will air at the same time but for only 30 weeks of the year

Meanwhile, Loose Women will air at the same time as usual but only for 30 weeks of the year. Following the announcement, it has been said that the panellists are ‘stressed and angry’ as the show makes up a huge part of their livelihoods.

“Ruth, Kaye, Nadia and Denise, in particular, have been reaching out to the production team in a panic and to express how angry they are that ITV had made this decision,” it has been said.

A source also claimed to MailOnline: “Loose Women and Lorraine dropping down in their schedule will badly affect Christine Lampard, she anchors for both shows so most of her yearly work is now at stake.”

    GMB
Good Morning Britain will be extended until 9.30am each day and when Lorraine is not on air(Image: ITV)

According to the insider, the cast thinks the broadcaster could be letting go of key talent in favour of the younger stars.

They said: “Now, the show will air just 30 weeks a year, so a lot of people are going to lose their jobs. There won’t be enough shows to go around, so it means presenters who have been on the series for 25 years may be kicked off the panel.”

The Mirror have reached out to ITV for comment.

Kevin Lygo, Managing Director of ITV’s Media and Entertainment Division, explained of the huge changes: “Daytime is a really important part of what we do, and these scheduling and production changes will enable us to continue to deliver a schedule providing viewers with the news, debate and discussion they love from the presenters they know and trust as well generating savings which will allow us to reinvest across the programme budget in other genres.

“Daytime has been a core element of ITV’s schedule for over 40 years and these changes will set ITV up to continue to bring viewers award winning news, views and discussion as we enter our eighth decade.”

Most recently, ITV has introduced the Loose podcast, which will be returning later this year, and is an extension of the brand.

Loose Women’s Denise Welch issues three-word response over daytime show ‘feuds’

Loose Women star Denise Welch has spoken out on the claims that the show is plagued by ‘feuds’ and ‘arguments’ and insisted that she has never had a row with her co-stars

Denise Welch has opened up about the feud rumours around ITV’s Loose Women. The actress and presenter, a regular face on the show alongside Janet Street-Porter, Jane Moore, Nadia Sawlha, Coleen Nolan, Ruth Langsford, and GK Barry, has addressed the constant speculation of feuding amongst the panel.

Every week, reports circulate about tensions among the panellists following on-air spats, with Denise, 66, notably passionate in her defence of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle whenever the Sussexes come under fire during discussions.

The Waterloo Road star has now set the record straight on what really goes on off-camera and tackled the speculation head-on. “It was incredibly unique and original,” she commented on the show’s format, praising its longevity: “It’s all power to it that 25 years later we’re still going. I’ve been a part of it for about 23 years.”

Reflecting on the programme’s evolution, she noted: “When it first started, it was never a staple of the daytime schedules like it is now. It was on for three months, off for three months. Then another programme came along and notched it down to half an hour, which the racing still does – but we’ve got our place.”

Denise revealed that all panelists on the show are 'opionated' which makes the show work so well

In an exclusive chat with the Mirror, Denise proudly stated: “I’m very proud to be part of it – and not just because it’s a female-led show, because our age range ranges from 25 to 85! We’ve got GK Barry at 25 and Gloria [Hunniford] at 85. What other show not only employs older women reveres and celebrates the voices of older women.

“There’s life in these old girls yet. We don’t care what Doris from Darlington on Twitter says. We’ve worn every T-shirt, we’ve rewashed it and re-ironed it and put it back in the drawer. Older women’s voices are so important, and I’m very proud to be a part of a show that continues to celebrate that.”

On the programme, Denise and her fellow panellists aren’t shy about tackling serious news but always strike a balance, later discussing “something light and fluffy.” She elaborated: “There’s nothing really that we avoid talking about,” adding that their show differs from others as other presenter-led shows require the presenter to remain impartial. Denise cited co-star Charlene White as an example, who must maintain impartiality while presenting on ITV News.

“Our show is anecdotal and opinion-led,” she declared. When asked about viewers criticising herself and Nadia, Denise quipped it is “about us” as they agree to voice their opinions on the show, but concedes it can be “hard” to expose themselves, knowing people will instantly form an opinion.

She continued: “Depending on what we are, we are four very opinionated, strong women. Just because we disagree doesn’t mean we’re in a feud, which drives me mad.” Discussing any potential feuds over the years, Denise stated: “I have never and I will honestly say, hand on heart, in 23 years, I have never had an argument with anybody on that show.

The actress praised the diverse age ranges of the programme ranging from 25 to 85

“If we didn’t have discussions and debate, it would be a very boring show,” she elaborated. Denise added: “There’s got to be dissension in the ranks, and sometimes, if there’s a topic that I’m not very passionate about, I will often, for the fun of it, play devil’s advocate. Because I feel it needs that sometimes needs to spur debates. We all get on absolutely fine, and we all see each other. Some people are closer than others. We all have geographic boundaries as well; we don’t all just live in London all of the time. I’m very proud to be a part of it!”

The actress, who has also starred in Coronation Street, recently shared that going sober 13 years ago was the “best decision” she and her husband, Lincoln Townley, had ever made. However, after giving up alcohol, which she describes as a “momentous point” in their lives, she later realised that she may be swapping alcohol for food addiction due to an “addictive personality”.

Denise confessed to the Mirror: “I very quickly realised that I was in danger of swapping alcohol addiction for food addiction.” The star shared that “all of the bad things” in her life, including alcohol and depression, had inadvertently kept her slim. “That stops me from eating when I’m having an episode, suddenly, the alcohol and the bad things were taken out of my life, I realised I was starting to replace alcohol with food,” she confessed.

Denise admitted to “bingeing” and consuming food “way past” feeling full, yet it never seemed enough. She disclosed her secret snacking habits, sneaking into the kitchen for treats and concealing chocolate.

However, she came to understand that there was no need to hide her eating from her family; her husband, Lincoln, and their son, Louis, a star of Hotel Portofino, were indifferent.

“Nobody cared – so why am I doing everything so secretly? Guiltily, like I used to drink,” she reflected. After getting engaged to Lincoln, Denise noticed she had gained two stone in a short period of time. She acknowledged that while some aim to shed a significant amount of weight, for her, those two stones were substantial.

She elaborated: “It wasn’t just how aesthetically it made me look, because I carry a lot of my weight on my face, so it becomes very noticeable. I’m on television several times a week – and that’s not a very flattering medium, so I was aware of it there but it was also the fact I’ve never been super fit but I was aware it was impairing my breathing.”

However, it wasn’t until Denise suffered a fall while performing in a theatre production in Kingston with Keith Allen that reality set in. She recounted the incident, saying: “I tripped and fell on Kingston Bridge. I went to see this knee doctor and he said, ‘You’ve got osteoarthritis and you need to lose weight’. I thought ‘my God, I didn’t think I had that much of a problem’, the breathing and stuff was due to a sleep apnea problem that wasn’t caused by, but isn’t helped by, weight gain.”

After discussing her plans to lose weight for her wedding, she was “inundated” by diet firms to front their campaigns. But it was a decision she made with Lincoln, who was also keen on losing weight.

They decided on LighterLife as it was the only weight loss company which spoke about changing the relationship with food. The company, for which Denise is an ambassador, uses mental approaches, such as CBT (cognitive behavioural therapy), group therapy or mentorship, and physical approaches. At first, she admits being wary about going to the group therapy as she didn’t want “all eyes” to be on her, but it was Lincoln who encouraged her to go along.

“I’m ever so grateful that I did, that first meeting changed my life,” she exclaimed. Although she acknowledges that there might have been other ways to shed the pounds, she concedes that without her strategy, she could have “piled it back on” due to the natural fluctuations in human weight.

“I always know that I’ve got the tools, the CBT tools to get me back on board,” she said, detailing the four processes she relies on. After shedding two stone, Denise applied her CBT expertise to quit smoking, a habit she picked up at 16. She shared: “By applying the same CBT techniques to cigarettes, and that helped me, come off those as well. So they are treasured tools.”

As a LighterLife ambassador for over a decade, Denise continues to consult with her doctor, Dr Kelly. “I have seen LighterLife and the mentors not only change people’s lives, but people’s lives,” she stated before asserting: “I am a fervent believer that this works.”

Denise, despite lacking medical qualifications, is convinced of LighterLife’s effectiveness, having witnessed its impact on thousands. With a busy schedule, she often carries LighterLife food, particularly enjoying the porridge and salted caramel chocolate bars.

“I would say to give it a try and the help of working with these trained mentors who are there for you is life changing, it’s an incredible, supportive community,” she advised.

Denise’s doctor, Dr Kelly, has voiced concerns over the diet fads sweeping social media, warning: “The problem with social media weight loss trends is that often they’re not nutritionally complete, not effective nor sustainable, and often they can be downright dangerous.”

She advocates for a more structured approach to weight management, highlighting LighterLife’s programme: “Alongside a nutritious, evidence-based, clinically effective weight loss plan, LighterLife helps you gain the tools required to silence that ‘food noise’ and successfully manage your weight in the longer term.”

Dr Kelly further emphasised the importance of a holistic strategy, noting that LighterLife’s diet plan offers an “evidence-based solution” and explaining: “Unless you engage with a programme which is designed to support both the physical and the psychological changes needed to help you better manage your weight, which includes diet and tools to address ‘food noise’ then you are far less likely to be successful.”

Denise Welch is working with LighterLife, the leading weight loss programme, which combines formula-based nutritionally complete diet plans with cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) to help people holistically transform their lives. Denise lost two stone in two months with the programme. Find out more at lighterlife.com

Inside ITV’s ‘bloodbath’ – ‘favoured presenter over Lorraine and panic over 220 job cuts’

Sweeping cuts across daytime television at ITV, including Good Morning Britain, Lorraine, This Morning, and Loose Women, have been announced that will see an alleged 220 people lose their jobs, leaving staff ‘devastated’

On Monday, the nearly 500 members of staff across ITV’s roster of beloved daytime shows realised that something was wrong. An email was allegedly sent out by the managing editor of daytime – Emma Gormley – ordering them to attend an emergency meeting the following day, and there was no option to join proceedings remotely. Instead, they were all expected to be there in person, with little notice.

When they arrived at the TC1 studio for the meeting – where hit programs like the Graham Norton Show are filmed – little was reportedly done to relieve their growing anxieties. Instead, what they were met with was chaos, insiders told the Daily Mail, and they quickly realised after sweeping cuts were announced that they had walked into a “bloodbath” – with 220 of them reportedly set to lose their jobs.

Stressed and worried staff weren’t even given the opportunity at the emergency meeting to ask any questions about their professional future – though it is reported ITV is planning on running another meeting, providing the opportunity for staff to do so when management is properly briefed on the answers they can give.

“There will be one team working across what’s left of Lorraine and Loose Women as well as This Morning”, a source told the Mail. “Things are going to be streamlined – and then some.”

They added: “”There is so much panic and so much worry. For such a long time ITV was seen as a safe place to work but, right now, there are very few people who are actually not going to be affected by the cuts.”

ITV’s roster of daytime shows including, Loose Women, Good Morning Britain (GMB), This Morning, and Lorraine are all set for a huge overhaul. Good Morning Britain, hosted by Richard Madeley and Susanna Reid, will, from next year, be produced by ITN – ITV’s news provider – with only 38 of the 113 staff on the early morning magazine show being kept on.

Lorraine, which has been on the air for 16 years, has seen some of the most devastating cuts: instead of airing 52 weeks of the year, it will only be on TV screens for 30 weeks, and it has had its running time slashed in half from 60 minutes to half an hour. GMB will have its runtime extended during the weeks Lorraine is not on air, going from 6 am to 10 am.

Loose Woman is also being reduced to 30 weeks a year, back into a “seasonal” schedule that it used to occupy until 2016. Whilst its running time has not been cut, staying at its usual hour, bosses are reported to be displeased by the regular falling out amongst the presenters, and the controversies that come with them

    Loose Women

The schedule of This Morning – hosted by Alison Hammond, Cat Deeley, Dermot O’Leary, and Ben Shephard – will remain the same, still on air between 10.30 and Noon on weekdays, but will still be subjected to job cuts if the proposal that the daytime teams merge goes ahead.

A source speaking to the Mail explained that Lorraine Kelly’s absences from hosting her daytime show – leaving Christine Lampard and Ranvir Singh to fill in for her hosting duties regularly – had played a part in the cuts, adding that the bosses at ITV are “besotted” with Susanna Reid of GMB, who they “favour” over Lorraine

They claim that bosses had to keep arranging cover for the presenter, with Christine and Ranvir luckily able to step in at the right moment. The outlet also reported that she’d be facing a salary cut amid her reduced screentime.

Insiders revealed to The Mirror that the major cuts to Lorraine’s show have left staff fearing that the BAFTA-winning presenter might quit altogether, and they called the new schedule a “kick in the teeth” after the recent ratings for the show had been the highest in the last four years.

“There are genuine fears among staff that Lorraine may decide to walk if the quality of the show they are putting out declines. It’s hard to see how standards won’t fall….and there are questions over whether Lorraine will want to be associated with that. Lorraine and her team are perfectionists – it’s why the show is loved by so many,” said one source.

Queen Camilla with ITV's Lorraine Kelly as well as Good Morning Britain's Susanna Reid
GMB’s Susanna Reid is said to be “favoured’ over Lorraine by ITV bosses(Image: POOL/AFP via Getty Images)

Another added, “This is a presenter who has just come back from having an operation, has won a BAFTA, is enjoying record ratings….and then ITV show their appreciation by yanking her off air half the year. Staff are beside themselves, and have been in tears constantly. It doesn’t make any sense given the trajectory the show is on.”

However, the Mirror has since been told that the rumours swirling around Lorraine Kelly’s suspected departure are “simply not true”. Though insiders at ITV have explained there is a sense of “collective devastation” amongst the daytime staff at the prospect of nearly half of them losing their jobs, with one saying: “The devastation among the staff is palpable after the announcement. To say it blindsided them would be an understatement.”

With GMB being absorbed into ITN, they will move from White City Studios to Gray’s Inn Road, where the rest of the news output is already produced, and one team will make both the magazine-style morning show and ITV News, something that is reported to have been dreamed up by the new director of news and current affairs for ITV – formerly the editor of ITV News – Andrew Dagnell.

A source speaking to the Mail laid some of the blame for these massive job cuts – which aim to save £50 million, which will be reinvested into other departments, like sports and drama – at the door of previous scandals, which they say were badly handled. These include the departure of long-time This Morning host Philip Schofield after it emerged he had engaged in an affair with a younger male colleague, and the cancelling of the Jeremy Kyle Show back in 2019 after the death of Steve Dymond, who is believed to have killed himself only a week after appearing on the show.

An insider told the Mirror that there had been rumours that major change was afoot, particularly when it came to GMB, but it was a total shock to the staff and crews that they would be this wide-ranging. “There had been whispers going round for some time over a merger between ITV News and Good Morning Britain, but no indication that the Daytime shows would be affected.

“We still don’t know how many people are going to lose their jobs, but rumours around 50% of the entire staff from GMB, Lorraine and This Morning will be affected which is staggering. All of the shows are produced by teams of super dedicated professionals, everyone is completely devastated,” they said. The Mirror has approached ITV for comment.

ITV insist that GMB moving under the ITN banner will provide it with extra resources and journalistic expertise and that the show will include more regional news, exclusive investigations and reporting on the day’s news from 2026.

Kevin Lygo, Managing Director of ITV’s Media and Entertainment Division, has said about the major changes: “Daytime is a really important part of what we do, and these scheduling and production changes will enable us to continue to deliver a schedule providing viewers with the news, debate and discussion they love from the presenters they know and trust as well generating savings which will allow us to reinvest across the programme budget in other genres.

“These changes also allow us to consolidate our news operations and expand our national, international and regional news output and to build upon our proud history of trusted journalism at a time when our viewers need accurate, unbiased news coverage more than ever.”

Lygo added, “I recognise that our plans will have an impact on staff off screen in our Daytime production teams, and we will work with ITV Studios and ITN as they manage these changes to produce the shows differently from next year, and support them through this transition.

“Daytime has been a core element of ITV’s schedule for over 40 years and these changes will set ITV up to continue to bring viewers award winning news, views and discussion as we enter our eighth decade.”

Lorraine Kelly ‘quitting ITV’ fear after ‘kick in the teeth’ as devastated staff vent fury

Staff on Lorraine fear its much-loved host might choose to quit if the standard of the show falls due to sweeping ITV cuts – as the channel’s employees are left shell-shocked and in tears over the news

Staff on Lorraine fear its much-loved host could quit the show after it bore the brunt of massive ITV cuts.

The presenter has been left devastated by the scale of job losses set to hit the programme which is set to be slashed from an hour to 30minutes. It will also now only air for 30 weeks out of 52.

ITV boss Kevin Lygo has insisted that presenters will remain the same across all affected programmes.

But a source said: “There are genuine fears among staff that Lorraine may decide to walk if the quality of the show they are putting out declines. It’s hard to see how standards won’t fall….and there are questions over whether Lorraine will want to be associated with that. Lorraine and her team are perfectionists – it’s why the show is loved by so many.”

The source said the move was a “kick in the teeth” especially given ITV was crowing this week about the show amassing its highest ratings for four years.

Staff are beside themselves, and have been in tears constantly. It doesn’t make any sense given the trajectory the show is on.”

Altogether, ITV is slashing 220 jobs, as it aims for cost savings of up to £50million.

Insiders reported “collective devastation” after being ordered to a meeting of all daytime staff yesterday to be told that almost half of the 450 jobs in ITV Daytime were being cut.

The overhaul will see the money saved being “reinvested” into other programming with a focus on drama, sport, entertainment and reality programming.

From January 2026, Loose Women will also adopt a “seasonal” schedule of 30 weeks a year, a loss of more than 10 weeks on the current schedule but a return to the pattern it held for more than a decade before 2016.

ITV’s news provider ITN is to take over production of Good Morning Britain from next year as part of the major revamp of the channel’s long-running daytime brands. GMB will be re-homed within ITN’s Gray’s Inn Road headquarters and be extended by half an hour for 30 weeks of the year (6am – 9.30am), and by an hour for the remaining 22 weeks when Lorraine is now off air (6am – 10am).

The changes aim to allow GMB to benefit from “the journalistic and production resources already in place for national news bulletins”. The extra hours each week will be filled with extra regional news, investigations and analysis of the biggest stories of the day.

Staff reacted with widespread dismay to the huge number of job cuts. The current Good Morning Britain team was particularly hard hit – of the 133 employees who currently make the early-bird magazine show, hosted by Susanna Reid, Richard Madeley and Ed Balls, just 38 will make the move to ITN.

An insider said: “The devastation among the staff is palpable after the announcement. To say it blindsided them would be an understatement.

“All of the shows are produced by teams of super dedicated professionals, everyone is completely devastated.”

In terms of scheduling, This Morning has emerged unscathed and will remain in its 10am -12.30pm slot on weekdays. Lorraine, This Morning and Loose Women, all made by ITV Studios, will move collectively to new studios within central London.

Presenter Lorraine, who last year celebrated 40 years in broadcasting and was awarded a special Bafta to mark the milestone, will now present her shorter show for five days a week, rather than four. Her regular stand-ins, Christine Lampard and Ranvir Singh, will provide holiday cover and will “remain as part of the ITV Daytime family”. Ranvir also hosts GMB while Christine does stints on Loose Women.

ITV media and entertainment managing director Kevin Lygo said that the aim was to save cash amid huge hikes in costs without losing any of the on-air talent. “Daytime is a really important part of what we do, and these scheduling and production changes will enable us to continue to deliver a schedule providing viewers with the news, debate and discussion they love from the presenters they know and trust, as well generating savings which will allow us to reinvest across the programme budget in other genres.

“These changes also allow us to consolidate our news operations and expand our national, international and regional news output and to build upon our proud history of trusted journalism at a time when our viewers need accurate, unbiased news coverage more than ever.”

In a statement, ITV said the money saved would help to fund dramas like Mr Bates vs The Post Office and coverage of the biggest sporting events like next year’s football World Cup, plus reality and entertainment shows.

Lygo said that the changes would future-proof the much-loved daytime brands for decades to come. “Daytime has been a core element of ITV’s schedule for over 40 years and these changes will set ITV up to continue to bring viewers award winning news, views and discussion as we enter our eighth decade.”

The changes will form part of a renewed five-year deal between ITV and ITN national, international, London and digital news provision.

They come just a few months after a major overhaul of the channel’s soaps, which will each move to a five-nights a week scheduling model from January.

In February it was announced that both Coronation Street and Emmerdale will be reduced by an hour a week to create a soap “power hour” every weeknight – but also to save money. One year ago, ITV CEO Carolyn McCall announced 200 redundancies would be made from departments including commercial, technology and operations.

ITV’s budget for programme-making has been steady at around £1.3bn for a number of years.

Prince William and Kate Middleton have been named among the 100 most influential philanthropists by Time magazine, with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle missing out on a spot

The Prince and Princess of Wales have secured a spot on Time magazine’s prestigious list of their Top 100 Philanthropy Awards, but it’s bad news for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.

The Time 100 Philanthropy 2025 list aims to celebrate “the 100 most influential people shaping the future of giving at a pivotal moment”. The respected publication hailed William and Kate as philanthropic innovators for “modernising royal philanthropy”.

“Prince William and Catherine, Princess of Wales, are less concerned with cultural preservation and more attuned to social issues,” the magazine notes, highlighting their commitment to tackling homelessness, mental health, and environmental concerns.

It further states: “Crucial to the Waleses’ approach is aligning social imperatives with sound business strategies and building corporate alliances to expand their reach.”

Meanwhile, Harry and Meghan were snubbed from this year’s list, despite being included four years ago. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, who quit their royal roles in 2020 to pursue private ventures in the corporate world, previously secured a spot on Time’s roster of the most influential figures back in 2021, which included a cover feature on the prestigious publication.

However, the couple, who tout themselves as “shaping the future through business and philanthropy” on their website, did not make the cut this year.

William was recognised for creating his innovative Earthshot Prize Awards, now in its fifth year of a decade-long project. The global, launched in 2020, is handing out £50 million of awards to fund innovative solutions to environmental challenges to support their platform to address the world’s most pressing environmental problems.

Meanwhile, Kate has been heavily involved in promoting children’s early development in recent years. She launched her Shaping Us scheme and Royal Foundation Business Taskforce for Early Childhood, which aims to encourage employers to prioritise caring for the young.

Other prominent figures listed as leading philanthropists include David Beckham, Oprah Winfrey, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Melinda French Gates, singer Dolly Parton, and actor Michael Sheen.

Rolf Harris’ wife Alwen Welsh died last year aged 92, one year after her disgraced husband, and the staggering amount left in her will has now been revealed

The amount Rolf Harris’ wife in her will has been revealed – and it’s massive. The disgraced TV star died aged 93 in May 2023 from neck cancer and left behind a huge £16million fortune. Now, it’s been revealed how much his wife Alwen Hughes left in her own will.

Her death came in August last year, aged 92, one year after her husband. Hughes had stood by her man despite him being found guilty on 12 counts of indecent assault against four girls and young women.

The Welsh sculptress and jeweller left a staggering £4million follower her death. Documents show her estate at the time of her death was worth £3,975,950, reduced to a net value of £3,840,532 after deductions.

Her will was said to be very complex having been dated July 2018, years before the death of the former Animal Hospital presenter. She had also included her husband in it.

However, it revealed that after Harris’ death, the couple’s daughter, Ava Reeves, became the main beneficiary. Other relatives were also named in the official document.

Harris and Welsh tied the knot in 1958. She stood by his side despite his convictions and attended every day of Harris’ initial trial alongside their daughter Bindi – who later changed her name to Ava to try to cut ties with Harris’ tarnished legacy.

Last month, Harris’ mansion was put up for sale, two years after his death. The riverside property in Berkshire was quietly listed with an asking price of £4million.

A source told the Mirror at the time how Ava had been trying to sell the property: “Bindi [Ava] was seen emptying the property about a month ago,” the insider said.

“She wants to sell it, but she doesn’t desperately need the money and is in no rush, so she’s determined to hold out for a good price. Potential buyers have already begun viewings.”

Harris died of neck cancer at the house aged 93 in May 2023, a year before Welsh, who had been suffering from Alzheimer’s.

The former presenter was jailed in July 2014 for five years and nine months after he was found guilty of a dozen indecent assaults against four young girls.

His crimes took place between 1968 and 1986. In one instance, it’s claimed Harris sexually assaulted one of his daughter’s friends, who was between the ages of 13 and 19 at the time.

During his final hours while surrounded by loved ones, Harris is said to have made an emotional request to his daughter through a feeding tube. His parting words were reported to be: “I always believed we would go on longer together but, if I go first, promise you’ll take good care of your mum.”

  • Hannah Spearritt shows off new life with family in Costa Rica after quitting fame

Hannah Spearritt shows off new life with family in Costa Rica after quitting fame

S Club’s Hannah Spearritt has been living in Costa Rica over the last few months after moving to the country from the UK with her husband and two children earlier this year

Former S Club member Hannah Spearritt has teased that she’s embracing “new beginning” after leaving the UK just months ago. The singer moved to Costa Rica with her family earlier this year and has been sharing updates since then.

It was announced last year that Hannah, now 44, and her husband Adam Thomas were planning to live abroad with their two children, aged six and four. Hannah, as reported by the Sun at the time, had previously said about the prospect: “That’s the dream, to move to Costa Rica and buy some land or a farm and live the simple life with the girls.”

Hannah is said to have been inspired to set up the cafe Earth & Fire in Twickenham in 2022 after visiting Costa Rica four years prior. The business however reportedly didn’t end up opening and the property was later put up for sale.

It was said to be the “latest in a sequence of setbacks” prior to her relocating abroad. Hannah is said to have faced homelessness in 2023 and she dropped out of S Club’s reunion tour that same year. Her exit from the tour came after bandmate Paul Cattermole’s death weeks prior and Hannah said that her health contributed to the decision.

Hannah Spearritt sat on a rock by a stream with her kids beside her in a woodland.

Earlier this year, Hannah confirmed that she had arrived in Costa Rica. She said in January: “Well … we finally made it to paradise. Beautiful country, beautiful people.” She’s shared updates on Instagram since and her bio reads: “Prepper, survivalist and creator now living the uninhibited jungle life.”

This morning, Hannah shared a photo of herself on a terrace overlooking a forest. She told her followers: “Looking out to new beginnings.. at our new #home! Next on the menu is to learn permaculture… and have a laugh at ourselves filming the planting of the fruit forest!”

Hannah teased that she’s embarked on a “new chapter” in a post on the platform just days ago. She wrote in a message to fans: “A little spirit. A little soil. And a whole lotta soul. New chapter blooming – messy, magical and more … ‘me’.”

And earlier this month, she gave a glimpse at the landscape of the community where the family have been living. She shared footage of a stream within a woodland and suggested that it was her “garden” in the accompanying caption.

Alongside the video, she wrote: “That’ll do for a garden…!!! The camera cannot even capture the sheer wonder of this place, the beauty leaves you speechless… And it’s even spring fed… so pure, you can swim in it… or drink it!”

Last month, she posted about the climate. Hannah shared footage of her kids swimming in a lake before showing a separate clip of rainfall. She said: “All in the same day! #rainseason is starting … but at least we can still swim in the river in 90 degrees before it rains! Truly spectacular country.”

In one of her first posts since arriving, Hannah told her followers in February that the area had helped her “recover from a challenging year”. She made the comment in the caption of photos, which included one of her beside her kids on a walk in the province of San José.

She wrote at the time: “Morning walks down to the waterfall… trying to keep up with the little legs! I’m putting together a little reel of this magical place that has really helped me recover from a challenging year and I’ll put the link in with it so you can enjoy it too if u like.”

  • ‘William has to strip Harry and Meghan of their titles – he has no other choice’

‘William has to strip Harry and Meghan of their titles – he has no other choice’

The question of whether Prince William will strip Harry and Meghan of their royal titles once king has sparked a heated debate, with many arguing the Sussexes aren’t worthy of holding them

It’s almost hard to believe how far Harry and William have drifted apart, considering how close they once were.(Image: Getty Images)

Whether Prince William will strip Harry and Meghan of their royal titles if he becomes King has proved a huge talking point over the past few weeks. Critics argue that Harry’s contradictory stance – expressing a desire to step away from royal duties while still holding onto his titles and those of his children – undermines the value of such titles.

We asked Do you think William will strip Harry & Meghan’s titles when he becomes King? and a whopping 9,806 said yes, they could see that happening, while just 1,203 thought William would never do such a thing.

Several readers felt that Harry’s actions – including his departure from royal life and inflammatory public statements – have made him unworthy of retaining his royal title. While some even suggest removing Harry and his children from the line of succession altogether, with one commenter stating that Harry’s personal desires have consistently taken precedence over his duty to the monarchy.

Another feels that King Charles should have already acted, with many believing that once king William would likely take the step of stripping the titles. However, a few believe William may hesitate or lack the resolve to make such a move.

Our original story attracted plenty of comments, here’s what just some of you had to say:

Questioning said: “Harry says he wishes he hadn’t been born Royal and yet he clings to the Sussex title, the HRH and the royal titles for his children. The Prince and Princess titles should only apply to the children of the Monarch and then only to the direct line of succession. Beatrice and Eugenie should not have these titles any more than Archie and Lilibet. Princess Anne and Prince Edward had the right idea. Prince Andrew, who has a misplaced idea of his own status, lobbied the Queen for these titles for his daughters.”

Guinevere added: “The main aim should be to take Harry and any children he has out of the line of succession. Harry has proved himself unworthy and inappropriate to ever be given a public role in the Monarchy’s team. I just think he does not have the brains or personality to put duty to the country ahead of his own personal lifestyle desires.”

Cynicaloap said: “King Charles should do so now. Harry and Meghan chose to quit the Royal Family and move to the USA.”

r1020c said: “Yes I think (William) would be vindictive enough to do this which would be much to Diana’s horror. All he thinks about is himself. He attacks his own brother yet all everyone can say is ‘Harry is to blame’.”

Carriejane said: “If the then-King William doesn’t remove the titles from Harry and Meghan they will escape by more good luck than good judgment. King Charles was able to change the list of Counsellors of State by sending a handwritten order to Parliament, and the permission was granted instantly. King Charles added HRH Princess Anne and HRH Prince Edward to the list meaning that Prince Harry and Princess Beatrice won’t have to be called.”

Pickieveek said: “William HAS to strip their titles – he has no other choice”

Blue55a argued: “I think he will after all that he (Harry) has done to the late Queen Elizabeth, her husband, and his father his sister-in law and to his brother. All the TV interviews, the book etc. I think William will remove their titles.”

Djbrown12: “He probably will try. Wills has always been jealous of Harry and he is just that petty and vindictive to do so.”

Bluebird says the family need to sort out their issues: “Harry and William need their backsides paddling! If Queen Diana was still alive she would be ashamed of her boys! Harry, William and Charles need to sit down by themselves to sort their issues out. Harry needs to come back home to England.”

Nancy Brown added: “Hope so, but does he have the bottle. Maybe not!”
