Gavin and Stacey duo Ruth Jones and James Corden have announced that the beloved characters from the show will be making a comeback in a new form next year

Gavin and Stacey creators Ruth Jones and James Corden have revealed the sitcoms much-loved characters will return in a new form next year.

Gavin And Stacey: The Finale will air on Christmas Day on the BBC and it will be the show’s final episode following 2019’s festive special which ended on a cliff-hanger when Vanessa ‘Nessa’ Jenkins, played by Ruth, proposed to James’ character Neil ‘Smithy’ Smith.

But the story doesn’t end there! Ruth and James have announced that they are writing a new book together, titled When Gavin Met Stacey and Everything in Between: A Story Of Love And Friendship. The pair’s literary offering with hit book shops in Autumn 2025 and will detail their journey to creating a comedy that touched the hearts of a nations.

Speaking in the wake of the book deal being announced, Ruth, 48, and James, 46, told fans: “We’re so excited to be sharing the story behind the story of Gavin and Stacey. The show has played a huge part in our twenty-five-year friendship and we hope this book will give readers a fresh insight into how it all came about.”

“Gavin and Stacey is a TV series like no other. Now, for the first time, its creators James Corden and Ruth Jones tell the full extraordinary story of how they turned their little show into a full-on cultural phenomenon,” the book’s publisher Penguin added in its description of the upcoming book.

“As they recount the rejection, obstacles and challenges they faced on the way to giving birth to their beloved comedy creation, James and Ruth also explore the flourishing of their own real-life friendship. While their now legendary on- screen characters Nessa and Smithy had a profound awkwardness to negotiate, culminating in that marriage proposal in the 2019 Christmas special, Ruth and James forged a magical relationship of mutual support based also on a deep, shared sense of subversive fun.

“Here, from their tentative initial pitch to the emotionally overwhelming final day of filming, the duo detail what’s occurred every step of the way, bouncing off each other in inimitable style. Full of revelations and never-before-heard stories, this is a one-of-a-kind book about a show that’s already gone down in history.”

The book announcement comes in the wake of James admitting he “never ever thought” Gavin and Stacey would be a long-running show and that its success had been “a dream come true”. The 46-year-old added that just having a show that is “worthy of a Christmas special” was enough for him and that he thought ending at three series was the right decision.

Speaking at a screening in London earlier this week ahead of the Christmas Day episode airing, the Smithy actor said: “We’ve honestly never ever thought past what we’ve been commissioned to do, when we were writing the scripts for the first series, we didn’t know if the show would get green lit.

“Then it gets green lit, then you shoot it, and then you’re hoping that someone finds it, then you get to do another series. And then suddenly, as that one starts coming out, it feels like lots of people are watching it. And then we did the first Christmas special, which was just a dream come true for us, like an absolute dream come true, to have a show that was considered worthy of a Christmas special, that was enough for us is the truth.

“And then we really felt like we probably told enough of the story, and if we’re honest with ourselves, we were finding it hard to construct ways for the families to keep meeting up… And so I think when we ended the third series, it was definite that was it.”

He explained that a finale episode was not certain and there was a chance that he and co-writer Ruth would leave the show at its cliff-hanger ending. James added: “We had a week in September, where we were like let’s get together then, and if there’s nothing there, if the characters don’t show us what the story is, it doesn’t matter.

“We haven’t told anybody, we haven’t told the cast, we haven’t spoken to the BBC, and it’s kind of lovely hearing Charlotte (Moore, the BBC’s Chief Content Officer) talk about those moments. We didn’t contact Charlotte till we’ve written, I think 70 pages of this special, because by then we felt like, ‘oh, we’ve got something that we feel that we’re ready to share’. Because it may sound like a complete nonsense but it doesn’t really feel like we’re in charge of writing, I feel like we just have to be together, and we sort of open a portal and the characters arrive, and they tell us what they want everybody to know.”

*Gavin And Stacey: The Finale will air on BBC One from 9pm on Christmas Day and will also be available on BBC iPlayer. The documentary Gavin And Stacey: A Fond Farewell will be shown at 7pm on New Year’s Day on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.

Sharon Osbourne is ‘not ok’ after Ozzy’s death as son Jack shares devastating update

Jack Osbourne has opened up on his family following the death of Black Sabbath icon Ozzy Osbourne as he admitted his mum Sharon is ‘not ok’ as she grieves her husband

Sharon is not coping well at all following the death of her husband Ozzy Osbourne, her son Jack has revealed in a heartbreaking new interview.

The Black Sabbath frontman died in July aged 76, just days after taking to the stage for one final time – in a concert masterminded by wife Sharon.

Ozzy and Sharon had moved back to Buckinghamshire to enjoy his retirement years in the comfort of their countryside estate – but the rockstar’s health took a sharp downturn after the concern and he died in their home weeks later.

Sharon was last seen at a public memorial for Ozzy in Birmingham, where she was visibly crying and emotional as she took in fan tributes. She has since taken a step back from the public eye to grieve privately but her children – including son Jack – have spoken out about her heartbreaking struggles.

During an appearance on Good Morning America, Jack was asked how his mum Sharon – who was married to Ozzy for 40 years – is coping.

“You know, when people have been asking me that question, I say, ‘She’s OK, but she’s not OK’,” Jack admitted.

Asked if she can “feel the affection and appreciation,” from fans, Jack replied: “Oh my god, yeah. I know she feels the love.”

“None of us expected it to be like this, with that outpour of love.”

He added: “Every child sits there and kind of has this thought about one day that parents won’t be there, and what will that be like. It’s just a part of being human. We just didn’t think of it. It was a different weight to it, you know?”

In a video released weeks after Ozzy’s funeral, Sharon admitted she was still finding her footing.

Appearing alongside daughter Kelly she said: “I’m still having trouble finding the words to express how grateful I am for the overwhelming love and support you’ve shown on social media. Your comments, posts, and tributes have brought me more comfort than you know,” she continued. “None of it has gone unnoticed, in fact, it’s carried me through many nights. Though I’m still finding my footing.”

BIRMINGHAM, ENGLAND - JULY 30: Sharon Osbourne and Kelly Osbourne stop to view tributes to the late Ozzy Osbourne from fans at Black Sabbath Bench and Bridge as his funeral cortege travels through his home city of Birmingham on July 30, 2025 in Birmingham, England. The Black Sabbath frontman passed away on July 22nd at the age of 76. Days before his death, Ozzy said he believes that his marriage to Sharon allowed him to live for so long.

The Black Sabbath rocker died aged 76 in July but believes he would have met his maker far sooner had it not been for his devoted wife of 43 years.

Speaking in the new documentary Ozzy: No Escape From Now, he said: “If it wasn’t for Sharon Osbourne, I wouldn’t be here now. I would definitely not have the success I have. I wouldn’t be sober. I’d be six foot under without a shadow of a doubt.

“Because I didn’t drink any less or do any more drugs than any of them, but all the guys I used to do it with, they’re all dead, so there must be something I did right in the world. The one thing I did was have my Sharon.”

However, Sharon has also been struggling with her own health. She found herself having to deal with a devastating colon cancer diagnosis in the full glare of the limelight.

She was first diagnosed in the summer of 2002, the same year that The Osbournes premiered on MTV. In a recent interview with Metal Hammer, Sharon was quizzed about why she continued working during her illness.

She replied: “Because I didn’t want my kids and my husband to know how sick I was. When you say ‘cancer’, everybody always thinks ‘death’. And you’ve got to remember it was 23 years ago.”

Sharon didn’t shy away from discussing her cancer while filming, with the show documenting everything from her chemotherapy treatment to her decision to turn to Cher’s wig maker after her hair fell out.

Ozzy told Classic Rock magazine of his fears as he said: “I thought she was going to die. I never knew anybody that had survived cancer. As far as I was concerned, patient plus cancer equals death. But my wife is a very strong woman.”

Ozzy hinted he wasn't sober before he died

Ozzy was also busy working on a memoir before his death and hinted he wasn’t sober. He penned: “If I’d been clean and sober, I wouldn’t be Ozzy. If I had done normal, sensible things, I wouldn’t be Ozzy.”

Speaking to Good Morning America, Jack admitted there was “some truth” adding: “But here’s the thing, he was clean and sober at the end. And he was still Ozzy.”

Ozzy had been battling numerous health issues in the years leading up to his death, including a fall in February 2019 as well as a Parkinson’s diagnosis. His daughter Kelly spoke about her mum Sharon’s pain over Ozzy’s final years nursing him though painful operations and trying to help him.

Kelly said in new documentary Ozzy: No Escape From Now: “I think what’s happening to my mum is the most heartbreaking part of this whole thing. And I think that watching the man that she loves most in this world wither is really, really hard.”

Sharon now has to make to decision over whether she stays in the UK alone at the Buckinghamshire mansion she renovated with the intention of living there with Ozzy, or return to LA to be closer to her family.

Jack questioned the decision to move back in the new BBC documentary as it means she is a long way from her beloved grandchildren too, and could feel isolated.

A source said: “Sharon’s world has been torn apart, they had a clear plan of what they wanted to do and how they would spend their time together, but she didn’t get to do any of it with Ozzy. It’s so sad.”

Denise Van Outen and Johnny Vaughan famously fell out during their time hosting The Big Breakfast Show in the late 1990s. Denise, who later competed on Strictly Come Dancing, claimed their friendship took a turn due to issues with contract negotiations.

At the time, it was reported that Johnny had made a separate deal regarding his salary, which damaged the trust between them.

Reflecting on the matter, Denise commented on Loose Women in 2017: “At that particular time, we were literally like brother and sister, we were best friends, unbreakable.

“The whole relationship fell apart when we started to renegotiate our contracts, because I always felt that we worked together as a team and that is how it should be.”

In a chat with The Metro newspaper, he remarked: “She might have fallen out with me but I never fell out with her. I just love Denise, won’t hear a word against her.

“Sometimes you don’t spot things, which is me being maybe insensitive and I really apologise to her for that.”

After years of not talking, the duo briefly reunited on the Capital Radio Breakfast Show in 2008, sparking hopes of a renewed friendship.

Unfortunately, however, things didn’t go as planned after Denise exited the show before her contract ended.

She later told the Daily Mail: “He wouldn’t let me speak, would tell me when I should and shouldn’t speak and would also constantly not mention that we were joint presenters. It was always, ‘This is Johnny Vaughan, you are listening to Capital Radio,’ and there was no mention of my name.

“I was on the other side of the desk. He had control of the desk and when I would go to speak he would fade my microphone down.”

However, Johnny denied this was the cause and instead insisted that she found it challenging to transition from television and theatre to radio.

He added to The Mirror: “Perhaps I wasn’t as reassuring as you can be. We did have a bit of a fallout, but I still love her to bits.”

Despite their past issues, the duo have since reconciled, joining forces on Celebrity Gogglebox last year and sharing the screen on Steph McGovern’s Steph’s Packed Lunch in 2023.

Reflecting on their bond, the presenter shared in his most recent interview: “We’ve done Gogglebox, I see her quite a bit, [and I] speak to her most weeks still.

“No matter how we’ve fallen out, she’s always been there for me, and I hope she feels I’ve always been there for her.”

Frankie Bridge opened up about squandering all her earnings from her pop stardom days and confessed: “I don’t have anything to show for it anymore, I think that’s one of my biggest regrets.”

The vocalist-turned-Loose Women panellist, who rose to prominence with S Club Juniors at just 12 before achieving chart triumph with The Saturdays, spoke frankly about her monetary history. She revealed to the Big Fish podcast with Spencer Matthews that despite grafting from such a tender age, she failed to put money aside and now has nothing remaining from her pop celebrity fortune.

Frankie detailed how her parents’ relaxed stance on expenditure due to her dedication meant there was minimal oversight of her finances. “I think my parents always felt that they allowed me to work from such a young age that they were unable to tell me what to use my money for and what to spend it on. We didn’t have loads and loads.”

Looking back on her previous command over her cash flow, the presenter disclosed: “Yeah of course, I was in control of it to a certain extent. I remember I had my own bank card. I think I only just closed it down like last week.”

Despite widespread assumptions about young celebrities not receiving their rightful portion, Frankie verified she did indeed possess her own earnings, complete with personal banking privileges. Frankie candidly discussed her financial innocence after her stint with S Club Juniors, admitting: “They helped me to invest little bits. But at the time I had no mortgage, no bills, no nothing, I wasn’t really thinking about it. But when I look back it wasn’t as much money as I thought it was. It would have been nice to has some of it left.”

Following S Club Juniors, Frankie was primed for a solo career, with music tycoon Simon Fuller envisioning her as the next Rachel Stevens. She reminisced about that period: “I had an opportunity afterwards. I was signed on my own for about a year as a solo artist and he wanted me to be the new Rachel Stevens, because she was the thing at the time.”

However, Frankie felt overwhelmed in the solo spotlight: “I felt so lost, I didn’t know what clothes I was into, what music. I was more an Avril Lavigne, a bit more emo. And that was not the style he was going for.” Frankie has since admitted she struggles with depression and anxiety.

Now, Frankie is a doting mum to her son Parker, shared with football ace Wayne Bridge, and a stepmum to his son Jaydon.

SCROLL DOWN AFTER THIS TO CONTINUE
For decades, Queen Camilla has weathered storms few women could survive. From being branded the villain in the collapse of Charles and Diana’s marriage, to enduring years of tabloid ridicule, she has managed to outlast scandal and, at last, take her place beside King Charles III as Queen Consort.

But now, reports from her private estate in Wiltshire suggest that Camilla faces her most dangerous crisis yet. At the heart of this unfolding drama lies a missing royal heirloom, a confrontation with Princess Anne, and questions that strike at the very core of her legitimacy within the monarchy.

A Charity Gathering Turns into a Scandal

It began at Ray Mill House, Camilla’s private sanctuary in the English countryside. The occasion was supposed to be simple: a quiet charity reception, elegant and restrained. Yet what should have been an evening of polite conversation and fundraising quickly spiraled into something darker.

A servant, moving quietly through the house, stumbled upon an object that should never have been there — a missing royal heirloom once belonging to Queen Elizabeth II. The discovery, small though it was, sent shockwaves through the estate. Guests whispered, servants exchanged fearful glances, and the room shifted from calm to tense in a matter of minutes.

    Princess Anne’s Confrontation

Among the guests that evening was Princess Anne, a woman known for her loyalty to tradition and her intolerance of impropriety. Upon hearing of the discovery, Anne did not hold her tongue.

Witnesses recall her confronting Camilla directly, her voice sharp and unyielding. The confrontation was about more than a misplaced artifact — it carried with it decades of unspoken resentment. Anne, the monarchy’s workhorse, had long viewed Camilla with suspicion. That night, her anger spilled into the open, igniting one of the most dramatic family clashes in recent memory.

King Charles, already weary from health struggles and the endless demands of duty, reportedly looked stricken as his sister and wife exchanged heated words. For a man who had spent his life fighting for Camilla’s acceptance, this moment must have felt like history repeating itself.

A Family Meeting Behind Closed Doors

Within hours, a secret family council was convened. The decision was swift: Ray Mill House would be searched from top to bottom. Room by room, the estate was combed for hidden treasures. In the end, only the single heirloom was found.

That outcome made the mystery even more troubling. Why was this one object there? How long had it been hidden? And what did it mean for Camilla’s already fragile reputation as Queen Consort?

The monarchy, ever cautious about appearances, suddenly found itself staring into the abyss of another scandal.

    Old Rivalries Resurface

To understand why Anne’s fury burned so brightly, one must revisit the tangled web of royal relationships that stretches back half a century.

In the early 1970s, Anne herself had been romantically linked with Andrew Parker Bowles — the very man Camilla later married. Though Anne and Andrew’s relationship never culminated in marriage, their bond remained strong. For Anne, Camilla’s entry into her personal circle was the first betrayal.

Years later, when Camilla reemerged as Charles’s lover during his marriage to Diana, resentment deepened into disdain. Anne, a woman who embodied discipline and duty, saw in Camilla someone who disrupted order, who took rather than gave. Their rivalry simmered beneath the surface for decades, but at Ray Mill House it finally erupted into the open.

    Camilla’s Long Road to Acceptance

Camilla’s past has always been her greatest obstacle. Born into privilege but not aristocracy, she was never deemed “suitable” by the palace establishment to marry the heir to the throne. Charles loved her from the beginning, but tradition — and powerful figures like Lord Mountbatten — pushed him elsewhere.

The result was the ill-fated marriage to Diana, a union that captivated the world but crumbled under the weight of divided loyalties. When the infamous “Camillagate” tapes leaked in the early 1990s, exposing Charles and Camilla’s private conversations, her name became synonymous with scandal. She was mocked, vilified, and portrayed as the destroyer of Diana’s happiness.

And yet, through it all, Charles remained devoted to her. Their eventual marriage in 2005 was modest but historic. With Queen Elizabeth II’s quiet blessing, Camilla was slowly rehabilitated in the eyes of the public. Her charity work — particularly for osteoporosis, literacy, and survivors of domestic violence — helped soften her image. Over time, many Britons accepted her, if not with affection, then at least with tolerance.

The Fragile Throne of Public Opinion

Even with her coronation as Queen Consort in 2023, Camilla’s acceptance has never been absolute. Polls reveal lingering skepticism, and Diana’s shadow remains long. For every supporter who sees Camilla as a loyal companion to Charles, there are others who view her as a usurper who never truly belonged.

That is why the discovery at Ray Mill House is so dangerous. It threatens to reopen old wounds, to reignite the very suspicions Camilla has spent decades trying to bury. To Anne, the heirloom was more than an object — it was a symbol of trust betrayed. To the public, it may become the spark that rekindles doubts about Camilla’s place in history.

    Conclusion: A Monarchy Tested

The monarchy has survived wars, abdications, divorces, and scandals. But its survival has always depended on trust — the delicate belief that those who wear the crown live by honor and duty.

For Camilla, the events at Ray Mill House are more than just a family squabble. They are a test of whether she can withstand yet another storm, one that strikes at her integrity and her acceptance as Queen.

Is this the scandal that unravels everything she has built? Or will she, once again, prove that survival is her greatest gift?

One thing is certain: the secrets of Camilla’s private estate have thrust the monarchy back into the harshest of spotlights — and the world is watching.

What Happens to Queen Camilla If King Charles Dies? A Tale of Two Women and a Nation’s Memory

The British monarchy has weathered centuries of storms, from abdications and scandals to wars and untimely deaths. But looming now is a question as profound as it is delicate: What happens to Queen Camilla if King Charles dies before her?

At first glance, the answer might seem straightforward. Prince William, the heir apparent, would take the throne as King William V, with Catherine at his side as Queen. Yet the ripple effects of Charles’s passing would shake more than just the crown. It would strip Camilla of her place, leaving her in a twilight existence between dignity and disgrace.

    The Awkward Truth of Titles

Tradition dictates that when a monarch dies, his wife is remembered as “Queen Mother” — but only if she is the biological mother of the new sovereign. When King George VI passed away in 1952, Elizabeth Bowes-Lyon became universally known as the Queen Mother, beloved for her steadfast support of Queen Elizabeth II.

Camilla, however, stands outside that tradition. She is not William’s mother. She never raised him, never comforted him through childhood, and in the eyes of millions, she was the shadow that loomed over the marriage of Charles and Diana.

When Charles dies, Camilla’s title as “Queen” will vanish instantly. She cannot become “Queen Mother.” She will not be “Dowager Queen.” Instead, she will simply be the widow of a king — stripped of ceremonial influence, left without a clear role, her place in the royal hierarchy awkward at best, irrelevant at worst.

Diana’s Ghost: The Eternal Queen Mother

This is where the story deepens. For even though Diana never bore the title of Queen, her spirit has never left the people. To William and Harry, she was the embodiment of love, warmth, and humanity inside a palace too often cloaked in cold duty.

If Charles passes before Camilla, it is all but certain that William will ensure his mother is remembered not just as “the People’s Princess” but elevated in memory to what she always symbolized: the rightful Queen Mother.

Not in title, perhaps, but in reverence. In the tributes of William and Catherine. In the way the public still lays flowers at Kensington Palace decades after her death. In the very heart of Britain, Diana already holds that sacred role.

    Camilla’s Dilemma

For Camilla, the contrast is devastating. Though she has tried to repair her public image — appearing dutiful, supporting Charles at his coronation, stepping into charity work — her legacy will never escape Diana’s shadow.

Camilla will not be remembered as the tender figure who shaped William and Harry. She will not be revered as the woman who broke through centuries of royal aloofness to embrace AIDS patients, landmine victims, and the dispossessed.

Instead, when Charles’s reign ends, Camilla may find herself quietly sidelined. A figure tolerated, perhaps respected by some, but never adored. In her widowhood, she may face the most painful truth of all: that the crown she waited decades to wear will vanish almost as swiftly as it appeared, leaving her with no enduring place in history.

    Diana’s Enduring Contributions

It is here that the comparison grows impossible to ignore. Diana’s influence was not measured in titles, but in humanity. She hugged children in hospitals, sat cross-legged on the ground with AIDS patients when others recoiled, and walked through minefields to demand global attention for the forgotten victims of war.

She gave voice to the vulnerable, hope to the hopeless, and love to her sons in a way that no crown could manufacture. Diana’s “title” has always been etched not on paper but in the hearts of millions: Queen of Compassion, Queen of the People.

And when William ascends the throne, there is little doubt he will ensure her legacy is honored in a way that eclipses Camilla entirely.

    The Unavoidable Conclusion

The monarchy has always been about more than power. It is about memory, symbolism, and the stories a nation chooses to tell about its past.

When Charles dies, history will not remember Camilla as the Queen Mother. She will fade into the background, her reign ending the moment her husband’s does. But Diana — gone nearly three decades — will rise again in the hearts of Britons as the true mother of the new king.

For in the end, it is not the crown that confers greatness. It is compassion, sacrifice, and love. And in those things, Diana remains untouchable.

Camilla’s chapter will close quietly. Diana’s will continue to be written every time a child smiles because of a charity she inspired, every time William and Catherine extend kindness in her name, every time the people whisper her memory with reverence.

Camilla may have worn the crown. But Diana will forever wear the people’s hearts.

Royal scandal erupts as British investigative biographer Tom Bower has unleashed explosive new claims accusing Meghan Markle of being trapped in a legal and reputational nightmare tied to a series of “yacht” allegations. According to Bower, who is known for his ruthless uncovering of secrets behind elite figures, Meghan is caught in a catch-22: sue and face total public unmasking or remain silent and let damaging rumors solidify as truth.

Bower’s shocking revelations paint a picture of Meghan’s early rise involving indulgent yacht parties and calculated manipulations designed to capture royal attention, notably suggesting she set her sights initially on Prince William before settling for Prince Harry. These yacht rumors, long denied and dismissed, are now gaining renewed traction thanks to the biographer’s meticulous research and insider testimonies.

Meghan’s camp is reportedly furious and threatening lawsuits, but legal experts warn that any court battle would require opening up decades of records, blog posts, and witness statements, potentially exposing every carefully guarded detail of her past. This legal trap, Bower asserts, could demolish Meghan’s carefully constructed public persona and brand, which she has spent years building post-royalty through entertainment and humanitarian work.

The scandal couldn’t come at a worse time, just weeks after Meghan relaunched herself in Hollywood as a serious producer. Memes mocking her as “yacht girl” have flooded social media, clashing starkly with her polished global image. Industry insiders reveal that some entertainment deals are being reassessed amid the turmoil, raising questions about her professional future.

Bower’s investigation doesn’t stop here; insiders say he’s gathering even more explosive evidence for a follow-up book that promises to further rock the Sussex narrative. This multi-front crisis places Meghan in one of the most precarious moments of her career and personal life, with little room to maneuver.

In summary, Tom Bower’s shocking yacht claims and looming legal battle expose Meghan Markle to unprecedented risks, threatening to unravel her brand and reshape public perception forever

In A Rare Moment, Sources Claim Princess Charlotte Reacted With Wide-Eyed Confusion, Muttering, “Wait… That’s Really Mine?”

Princess Charlotte, the 8-year-old daughter of Prince William and Catherine, Princess of Wales, is set to inherit Princess Diana’s iconic Spencer Tiara – much to the frustration of diva duchess Meghan Markle.

RadarOnline.com can reveal the dazzling jewelry piece has an estimated worth of at least $535,000 and is likely to go to Charlotte instead of Meghan and her husband Prince Harry’s offspring, Lilibet.

“The chances of Princess Charlotte or Princess Lilibet wearing the Spencer Tiara one day are certainly possible,” said Maxwell Stone, a jewelry expert at Steven Stone Jewellers.

“But there are several key factors.”

    SCROLL DOWN TO CONTINUE

The Spencer Tiara, famously worn by Diana on her wedding day to the then Prince Charles in 1981, is not part of the Crown Jewels or the royal collection but remains a treasured family heirloom owned privately by Charles Spencer, 9th Earl Spencer, Diana’s brother.

Since Diana’s death aged 36 in a Paris car smash in 1997, the tiara has been rarely seen, locked away from public view.

Princess Charlotte, as a central figure in the core royal family, is more likely to be seen wearing the tiara on momentous occasions, said Stone.

“She embodies her grandmother’s legacy in a very public way, making the Spencer Tiara a fitting and symbolic choice for future events – particularly a wedding,” Stone explained.

The young princess has yet to debut a tiara publicly but has been seen wearing headpieces.

In contrast, Princess Lilibet, aged 5, has a far more distant relationship with the traditional royal institution.

“Raised outside traditional royal circles, her path is less entwined with royal custom, which may make access to the tiara less straightforward,” Stone explained.

Lilibet, daughter of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, lives primarily in the United States, a factor that further distances her from royal customs and heirlooms.

The Spencer Tiara dates back to the 18th century and was gifted to Diana’s grandmother, Countess Cynthia Spencer, in 1919.

Crafted from various older pieces of jewelry, it features diamond-encrusted motifs of tulips, scrolls, and stars, exemplifying exquisite craftsmanship.

“Diana adored the tiara and wore it repeatedly throughout her life,” Stone said.

“It’s intricately crafted and rich in sentimental value, making it one of the most treasured heirlooms in British aristocracy.”

    The Royal Tension Continues

Its last known public appearance was in 2018, when Diana’s niece Celia McCorquodale wore it on her wedding day.

Both Princess Kate and Markle have never publicly worn the piece, despite often paying tribute to Diana in other ways through their ensembles.

The ongoing speculation about who will inherit or be allowed to wear the tiara again has sparked talk of renewed tension between the Sussexes and Waleses.

According to insiders, Markle, 43, is “raging” at the prospect of her daughter being passed over for the Diana heirloom.

A source said: “The fact is, the Spencer family remains the ultimate custodians of the tiara. As the 9th Earl Spencer, Charles, 58, is responsible for its safekeeping and decisions regarding its use.

“Given Princess Charlotte’s prominent place within the royal family and her public role as Diana’s granddaughter, many view her as the natural choice for the tiara’s future appearances.

“There is virtually no way it will end up in Lilibet’s hands, and Meghan is seeing this as yet another snub to her and her kids.”

“Everything Seemed Under Control… Until King Charles Opened a Forgotten File in His Study”

One tiny detail left him shaken, triggering confrontations, adviser reshuffles, Camilla’s eerie silence—and a blunt remark from Princess Anne that forced Charles to act where no one expected him to

Late last week, sources close to the Palace described a stunning turn of events: King Charles III reportedly discovered a long-forgotten file in his study that exposed financial irregularities tied to Camilla’s inner circle. That single document triggered a wave of consequences that reverberated through the upper echelons of the monarchy.

At first glance, it was meant to be routine: an annual audit of private accounts. But when Charles opened that file, something in that red folder made the room go cold. Within hours, trusted advisers were quietly removed, their roles restructured—or quietly eliminated. Simultaneously, Queen Camilla entered a state of conspicuous silence; she hasn’t attended public engagements in days, and aides report she’s been avoiding even close advisers

Then came the moment that changed everything: Princess Anne is said to have delivered a chilling line during a private meeting—“We cannot protect you from yourself.” That comment reportedly pushed Charles to do something no one expected: launch a full-scale investigation into the royal household’s financial dealings.

    Why It Matters

There’s no evidence of criminal wrongdoing. Nothing leaked or exposed yet. But the narrative has shifted. The King, once cautious and deliberative, has taken swift action. Camilla—often seen as the stabilizing force beside him—is now sidelined. And Princess Anne—long known as the royal realist—has emerged as a voice of stern accountability.

Princess Anne leaves England amid absence of King Charles and Queen Camilla

At stake is trust. Among courtiers. Among Commonwealth advisors. Even among the public. Because for the first time since Charles’s accession, the monarchy is confronting questions from within… not about heritage or protocol—but about integrity and loyalty.

This isn’t over. The investigation continues. Some aides suspect civil servants outside  Buckingham Palace are being quietly consulted. Others whisper that Anne is positioning herself as the royal conscience Charles can still rely on.

    But one thing is clear:
That forgotten file wasn’t forgotten for long—and now the palace is on edge.

ITV daytime shows are set to get a huge shakeup next year as the teams merge behind the scenes and Lorraine and Loose Women get their time on air cut down

Loose Women have faced yet another shakeup as stars of the hit ITV daytime show prepare for major changes. The daytime scheduling is set to look very different next year as huge cuts sweep the channel.

From next year, Loose Women will only air for 30 weeks rather than its usual 52, slashing production time almost in half. The beloved live studio audience will also be no more as well as its star-studded guests.

It is not the only hit show to be affected as Lorraine will instead run for half an hour and for 30 weeks a year. Loose Women, Lorraine and This Morning will move to a shared studio location in Covent Garden where the three shows will be produced by just one team, with 220 jobs set to go.

In another change for Loose Women, its long-time editor Sally Shelford has decided to hang up her reign. Amid her decision to leave, many of the show’s stars are said to be concerned about keeping their spots while the show gets trimmed down.

Sally’s departure is also said to be a hit to the cast as she “knows the women well” and “who will go on with who”. A source said: “The show is in bits. So many of the panellists need to work on the show to pay the bills so they are facing some tough times.”

They added to Daily Mail: “There are silos within the show – some despise one another, others are exceptionally close. These are desperate and worrying times.”

A spokesperson for ITV told the Mirror : “After almost a decade at the helm of Loose Women, winning three Royal Television Society Awards, two BAFTA nominations, launching powerful campaigns and expanding the Loose brand with Loose Men, a successful podcast and a live nationwide tour, Sally feels the time is right to hand the Loose baton on.

“She will continue as Loose Women Editor until the New Year.” Another huge change for the show will reportedly be the end of A-list guests, who are expected to appear on This Morning instead.

Over its 25 year history, Loose Women has welcomed some of the world’s biggest stars to the panel – from Naomi Campbell to Janet Jackson and Dame Joan Collins.

Speaking about the huge cuts, an insider told The Mirror: “It’s not a case of viewers seeing less of their shows… it’s impossible to see how the high standards will remain the same.

“Some staff believe Loose Women and Lorraine in particular will enter a death spiral… it’s just so sad. Just a handful of people will be working on each of those two programmes which has huge ramifications for how they are going forward.”

Loose Women’s Nadia Sawalha admitted she was “totally devastated” at the loss of the audience and spoke out in support of her close friend and warm-up artist Lee Peart, who lost his job as a result.

“The audience is so important for the show,” Nadia said. “What a lot of people don’t realise is that we’re self-employed. Every contract is a new contract – I could be let go tomorrow or in five years. It’s brutal.”

She added: “Hundreds of people are going to be made redundant out of the blue. A lot of my friends and colleagues on this show and at ITV have been there for decades, and I can’t tell you how upsetting it was to see people walking around numb with shock and fear about what they were going to do.”
