Major ITV star tipped to leave following daytime schedule ‘bloodbath’

ITV Daytime has been rocked by reports in the past week of major changes – with crew fearing for their jobs after some shows were revealed to be set for major cuts

Lorraine Kelly is tipped to walk away from her ITV daytime show at the end of 2026

Lorraine Kelly is tipped to quit her morning ITV show at the end of next year following a major shakeup to the daytime schedule. Reports over the past week have announced that major changes are on the way at ITV after decades of a fixed schedule.

Fans of TV have watched Good Morning Britain from 6am every week day before the show seamlessly moves into the Lorraine show at 9am. This Morning follows at 10am – with Loose Women taking over at 12:30pm.

But now the schedule is set for a major shake-up – and there are suggestions there is furore behind the scenes as Lorraine’s show is set to endure some of the most brutal changes. Instead of airing every week, the show is to be stripped back to just half the year.

And the long-runing show will be reduced to just half an hour. Now a report has suggested Lorraine will walk away from the show altogether by the end of next year.

A source told The Sun on Sunday: “Lorraine was asked if she wanted to retire, having just celebrated her 40 years on breakfast TV, but she instead chose to see out her contract.

    The Loose Women stars
Loose Women is also due for major changes(Image: ITV)

“Bosses thought it would be an ideal opportunity for her to spend more time with family, especially given how little she was on her own show last year. Many think it is unlikely she will stay on after her current contract and that is further proven by the fact that the boss of her show will be part-time and on a one-year contract.

“She is a hugely valued member of the ITV history and is likely to do other shows at the channel, with some thinking she may explore documentaries, travelogues and passion projects.” The Mirror has contacted a representative of Lorraine for comment.

The Sun’s claims come days after The Mirror first reported rumours Lorraine could quit her show. The presenter is said to have been left devastated by the scale of job losses set to hit the programme which is set to be slashed from an hour to 30minutes. It will also now only air for 30 weeks out of 52.

A source said: “There are genuine fears among staff that Lorraine may decide to walk if the quality of the show they are putting out declines. It’s hard to see how standards won’t fall….and there are questions over whether Lorraine will want to be associated with that. Lorraine and her team are perfectionists – it’s why the show is loved by so many.”

The source said the move was a “kick in the teeth” especially given ITV was crowing this week about the show amassing its highest ratings for four years.

A second insider added: “This is a presenter who has just come back from having an operation, has won a BAFTA, is enjoying record ratings….and then ITV show their appreciation by yanking her off air half the year. Staff are beside themselves, and have been in tears constantly. It doesn’t make any sense given the trajectory the show is on.”

The extreme cuts and changes at ITV are said to be planned in an effort to cut costs at the broadcaster. Other shows to face radical changes in recent months include the iconic soap Coronation Street – which has also seen high profile cast members leave and reports of episode numbers getting cut.

  • Prince William’s unexpected response after fan comments on Kate Middleton’s appearance

Prince William’s unexpected response after fan comments on Kate Middleton’s appearance

The Prince and Princess of Wales said hello to well-wishers as they left a shipyard in Glasgow after attending the official naming ceremony of HMS Glasgow – and one fan couldn’t help but remark on Kate’s outfit, prompting a response from William

Prince William had an unexpected response after a well-wisher told his wife Kate she looked ‘beautiful’ at a ship’s naming ceremony. The Prince and Princess of Wales were at the BAE Systems shipyard in Glasgow for the official naming ceremony of HMS Glasgow – a new Royal Navy state-of-the-art Type 26 anti-submarine frigate.

As sponsor of the vessel, Kate had the job of officially naming the ship by smashing a bottle of whisky on its hull. For the visit, Kate embraced the nautical theme with her outfit, wearing a navy and white Suzannah London coat dress teamed with a Philip Treacy hat. After the visit, a crowd of well-wishers gathered to catch a glimpse of the royal couple, with one telling Kate she looked ‘beautiful’.

But not to leave William out, she quickly added: “You too, William!” But in a surprise response, he told the fan: “You don’t have to say that, don’t worry!”

It came after Kate stepped up onto a podium before a crowd of several hundred BAE employees, their families and the 45-strong ship’s company and uttered the time-honoured words: “I have the pleasure to name this ship HMS Glasgow, may God bless her and all who sail on her”.

Kate then flicked up a small red ‘launch’ button to release a bottle of exclusive single malt whisky made by the nearby Clydeside Distillery. The ceremonial act is said to bring good luck and fortune to the vessel and its crew.

The princess was named sponsor of the 8,000-tonne warship, a state-of-the-art Type 26 anti-submarine frigate, in June 2021 and is said to hold “a real interest” in the ship “and in the lives of those who will serve onboard”. The ship, the first of eight planned Type 26 frigates, is designed to provide protection to the UK’s nuclear deterrent and aircraft carriers.

It features advanced systems such as the Sea Ceptor anti-air missile system, a 5-inch naval gun, and the capability to carry both Wildcat and Merlin helicopters. The construction of the eight frigates has sustained 4,000 jobs across Scotland and the wider UK supply chain.

William later told a group of BAE staff during a reception: “It’s massive, I can see that’s where the future is going. It’s quite impressive, it’s a hell of a piece of kit – screams UK power.”

The couple also had a tour of the vessel, which is being fitted out, after the naming ceremony, they then met BAE staff, apprentices and members of HMS Glasgow’s company in a nearby training centre.

William and Kate competed to complete a pipe puzzle connecting pieces of copper piping – a secondary school Stem activity – under the watchful eye of BAE apprentices. The prince later complained he did not realise it was a competition, saying to laughter from Kate, “It’s a race? – that’s fine, then I’ll race” but when his wife was declared the winner, William replied her effort was ‘wobbly’.

Apprentice Natalie Black guided Kate through the test and said afterwards: “We had a little discussion about what her kids get up to and I complimented her on how well she was doing up the bolts and she said it was just like playing with the kids’ toys.”

During the reception, the princess repeatedly spoke about how impressed she was by the sheer scale of the ship, the number of people involved in the build and the technology on board.

Talking to the ship’s company and their families, she said: “It’s so exciting to see it all come together, all the technology is so impressive.” Adding: “What’s really interesting as well is seeing the international interest.”

She admitted that she was still getting to grips with the naval language, telling one woman: “I’m still learning all my naval lingo. There are a lot of abbreviations that I don’t fully understand. I’ve got a lot to learn.”

  • Danniella Westbrook ‘ready to marry’ boxer boyfriend as she plans more surgery

Danniella Westbrook ‘ready to marry’ boxer boyfriend as she plans more surgery

Things appear to be hotting up between Danniella Westbrook and her bare knuckle fighter boyfriend Charlie Symonds – with a source claiming marriage is even on the cards

    Daniella Westbrook
Danniella seems to be head over heels with her new man

Danniella Westbrook has had her fair share of life dramas – but after going public with a new man, a source claims she’s in a “love bubble” and “ready to commit”. The actress, who joined EastEnders at 16 years old and played Sam Mitchell on and off until 2016, appeared to be smitten with bare knuckle boxer Charlie ‘Chasa Real Talk’ Symonds on a sun-soaked break to Greece.

Danniella and Chasa are believed to have been friends for six years, but have clearly taken their relationship to a new level and were seen packing on the PDAs. The mum of two, 51, was beaming as she and Croydon-born Charlie kissed and splashed around in the water. And now a source claims exclusively to OK! that what started as a close friendship has grown into something much deeper – and they’ve already talked about next steps.

“Danniella feels that she’s found her soulmate. Chasa doesn’t judge her one bit and doesn’t care what has happened in her past. He understands all about the issues she’s been through but is supportive – he just wants to make her happy. She’s really smitten and feels like she can trust him, which is a really big deal for her.

“This is something she’s prayed for for a long time, it could be something special. She is thinking about marriage and definitely wants to tie the knot with him, it’s a no brainer for her and she’s ready to commit fully. They’re in a love bubble so wedding bells are definitely on the cards.”

It’s been more than two decades since Danniella’s nasal septum collapsed from excessive cocaine use, and she revealed a few years ago that she was still trying to repair the damage caused, as well as the effects of osteoporosis. Her appearance has since changed dramatically thanks to corrective surgeries, but our source claims she would happily go under the knife again to achieve bridal perfection, adding: “She would definitely have more surgery and get some tweaks before getting married, she’s very much dedicated to repairing her looks and looking the best she can.

“She’s already had a lot of operations, but she wants to go on until she feels content. Now she’s found ‘the one’ she wants to make sure she’s looking her best.” The former Dancing On Ice star, who has battled addiction for much of her adult life, revealed that her life had”changed dramatically” since losing her dad in January 2024, and she’d “pulled herself back from the brink again.” She wrote on her socials last month: “I got myself back into recovery and [have] taken the right opportunities that have come and do come my way. I feel so grateful, blessed and useful.”

She gave her intrigued fans a peek into her budding romance when she hinted in another recent snap of the pair that “a holiday romance was brewing”, and that “it may just become an everlasting love”. Charlie, 42, is a retired English professional welterweight boxer and is currently signed to Conor McGregor’s Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship, where he walks into the ring as the “Croydon Bomber”

The pair are believed to have reconnected in Dubai at the BKFC (Bare Knuckle Fighting Championships) where Chasa was competing – and have been enjoying quality time together since. He opened up last year about his own experiences of drugs, confessing he’d “gone down a dark road” but had been in recovery for more than seven years since hitting rock bottom.

After going public, it seems Charlie and Danniella’s fans are especially keen to see them go the distance. On one of the most recent snaps of them on Instagram, one follower urged the bare knuckle fighter to “wife that one up, bro” – to which they both replied with red heart and hand-clapping emojis. Another person added: “Please stay together forever” while another wrote: “I’ve not seen you two so happy in a long time, long may it continue.”

Things also seem to be looking up for Danniella when it comes to her relationship with her two children – Kai and Jodie – who she’s been estranged from at various points in their lives. In 2023, the actress claimed she was heartbroken after her grown-up daughter Jodie, who she shares with ex husband Kevin Jenkins, had “cut” her out of her life with no explanations.

After a few followers posted on Jodie’s social media urging her to get back in touch with her mum, she responded with a polite: “If you don’t know the situation please don’t comment, thank you.” But it seems time can be a great healer and as of last month, things appeared to be improving. “Having both my children back in contact with me and rebuilding what I broke is something I never thought I would get a chance to do,” Danniella said.

“The blessings just keep on coming one day at a time.” Our source says the TV star takes full responsibility for what’s happened in the past but is determined to get things back on track. “She’s learned from her past mistakes, she’s back in touch with her daughter and is so happy about it. She’ll do everything she can to make sure things remain positive between them.” Hopefully Danniella gets the happiness she wants .

Danielle Lloyd weeps as she issues update on ‘heartbreaking’ cancer battle: ‘All I’ve done is cry’

Danielle announced her diagnosis in February

Former glamour model Danielle Lloyd has shared an emotional update following her cancer diagnosis.

In February, the former Celebrity Big Brother star revealed she had skin cancer after she underwent surgery to get a mole removed in December.

Danielle, 41, then had to have another operation in February to remove the surrounding tissue to check if the cancer had spread. After waiting eight long weeks for an update, she received the all clear.

However, she was told there was a mistake made, which resulted in Danielle reaching breaking point.

Danielle Lloyd’s emotional update following cancer diagnosis

In an exclusive interview with The Sun, Danielle revealed that the day after she had been given the all clear, she received a phone call explaining that there had been an error made.

“They said they hadn’t had all the results back and I would have to wait longer,” Danielle said.

She insisted she was a “mess”, adding: “It was so scary and I was also really angry. I just felt like screaming. All I’ve done for the past few months is cry.”

However, after worrying relentlessly, she was finally told she no longer had cancer. “I just burst into tears, then just got on the phone to everyone – my parents, Michael, my friends – to tell them the good news,” she said.

Danielle was relieved that “it was finally over” and that she could “get on with my life”.

    ‘It’s been horrendous’

Over the past few months, Danielle said it’s “been horrendous” for her and her family.

“Being a mum, I was trying to put a brave face on for everyone, but inside I’ve been crumbling. I was worried every single day that I was going to die,” she continued.

As she broke down in tears, Danielle explained how hard it was to look at her kids and worry “that I wouldn’t be there for them”.

She credited her husband, former footballer Michael O’Neil, for being her rock through the hard time.

Danielle has sons Archie, 14, George, 13, and Harry, 11, with her footballer ex-husband, Jamie O’Hara. She and Michael have since started a family of their own, sharing Ronnie, seven, and three-year-old Autumn Rose.

In the 1960s, Joanna had a high-profile romance with photographer Michael Claydon, with whom she had her only child, son Jamie.

Between 1970 and 1971, she was married to ‘Allo ‘Allo! star Jeremy Lloyd.

However, it’s her marriage to Stephen Barlow that has lasted. The couple tied the knot back in 1986 after having met at a friend’s wedding.

Joanna once opened up about their first meeting.

“I felt like I’d had a kind of electric shock; it wasn’t a matter of falling instantly in love, it was the impact of a colossal shock, completely memorable,” she said.

Stephen has also spoken of first encountering Joanna, saying: “Jo looked amazing in a turquoise coat. I’d never seen anything so glamorous and statuesque.”

Joanna Lumley on the secret of her long marriage to husband Stephen

Last year, during an interview with Radio Times, Joanna revealed some secrets behind a long and happy marriage.

“I think, respect your partner and always treat them as the most important person in the world,” she said.

She also admitted that she’s picked up on some of his TV habits over the years.

“You get fond of what your partner likes. I’ve become fonder of car racing because he likes that,” she said.

In 2019, during an appearance on the Jonathan Ross Show, the star opened up about the effect her travelling has on their marriage.

“We are both independent. I love being on my own. When I’m away, I don’t even phone home,” she said.

“Incidentally, I come from a different generation where we couldn’t usually afford to phone home, so I’ve never been used to it. I like to write a postcard. I won’t phone, that takes your travelling head away from you… You don’t want people to keep phoning. If you’re on the other side of the world it’s always the wrong time,” she then added.

Joanna Lumley on her ‘miracle baby’

At the age of 21, Joanna gave birth to her only child, son Jamie.

However, the actor had never expected to be a mother, thanks to doctors previously telling her that she would never be able to have children.

Speaking to the Guardian about her son, she said: “Doctors had told me I could never have children, so I went on working until I was six months pregnant because they kept saying I wasn’t pregnant. Jamie was born at seven and a half months. It was a miracle for me.”

In 2023, she shared some secrets on motherhood during an interview with Hello! magazine.

“My advice to new parents would be to give your children unconditional love, it’s the greatest gift we have as a parent,” she said. “I also remember my parents giving me advice when I was young – it didn’t seem to make much sense at the time, but it has always stayed with me and now makes complete sense!” she said.

Joanna is now a grandmother to two granddaughters. She described it as “absolute heaven” when they come to stay with her during an interview with the Northern Echo.

    On ‘not having long left’

Speaking in My Weekly earlier this year, Joanna opened up about her own mortality. As she admitted, “beloved friends are beginning to leave”, she also admitted that her “time must be coming quite soon”.

“As you near the top of the hill you suddenly think, ‘Gosh, there’s not all that amount of time left’. My time must be coming quite soon, and I don’t want to have wasted a minute of being on this beautiful planet,” she said.

She also urged young people to worry less. “I used to panic when I was young, but as I’ve got older I’ve started literally to live day to day. With age, you work out what matters. I always knew that good stuff would come along when I was older. When I was 18, I longed to be 30. When I was 30, I longed to be 50. We mustn’t be led into thinking getting old is bad. Growing old is good,” she said.

In his caption, he also shared that two of his friends had their cars stolen, and another friend had been mugged.

“So in a week two of my friends cars got stolen, one other mate got mugged and now I had this happen all in broad daylight all in central London,” he wrote.

“London is broken big time…next time I’m bringing the Mali’s,” James continued, adding three paw emoji. He could have been hinting at his dogs.

The post went unnoticed by fans who rushed to the comments section to share their support.

‘I’m so sorry this has happened to you’

    Huge ITV shakeup

The news arrives just days after ITV announced the network would be making some huge cuts in the new year.

“From January 2026, Good Morning Britain will be extended by 30 minutes to run from 6am to 9.30am daily, and will transfer to be produced by ITV News at ITN at their base at Gray’s Inn Road in London,” a press release announced.

“GMB will be made by a dedicated team within ITV News at ITN. This change will see ITV bring all its national news gathering into one hub, with Good Morning Britain benefitting from the journalistic and production resources already in place for national news bulletins, for the website and for digital platforms including ITVX.

Lorraine Kelly’s self-titled show received the biggest blow, however. Her hour-long show has been cut in half. As a result, Lorraine will air in a 30-minute slot from 9.30am till 10am, when This Morning starts.

The show, as well as Loose Women, will also air on a seasonal basis for 30 weeks of the year. When Lorraine is off air, GMB will be extended until 10am.

Following the shocking news, Lorraine has been predicted to “consider other opportunities” after her show was sensationally slashed.

TV star Stephen Mulhern has opened up about no longer working alongside Holly Willoughby as he prepares to step out of his comfort zone.

Over the years, Holly and Stephen have remained good friends and have regularly hosted alongside one another. After working on Dancing On Ice for the past couple of series, it was announced that the ITV skating show had been axed.

In a new interview, Stephen admitted he was “gutted” that Holly decided to step down from her role.

“I’m gutted she’s not doing You Bet! with me, but I’ve had time to think about it and Bruce Forsyth was the first person to do You Bet! and he did it on his own,” he told TV Biz.

Looking on the positive side of things, Stephen said: “Maybe it happened for a reason. We’ve filmed one episode already without Holly, and it felt very comfortable. Maybe it is just a one-presenter show.”

Stephen admitted Holly did get in touch with him and arranged to break the news. He explained: “She just said: ‘Look, sorry, I can’t do it.’ She told me face to face. She said: ‘Look, I’m gutted but it’s all over.’”

STACEY Solomon has revealed another new addition to Pickle Cottage after her shock TV Baftas rant.

The 35-year-old left fans stunned when she took to social media to rant after her BBC show Sort Your Life Out didn’t win a gong at the ceremony.

It was later reported Stacey “feared she could lose it all” following the outburst.

But the mum-of-five has brushed all of that off to reveal the latest addition to the £1.2million Essex property she shares with husband Joe Swash and the kids.

In a new clip on Instagram, she told fans: “Ages ago I was like, ‘I’m going to get bees’. But I thought I’m not getting bees unless I really study it properly and learn everything about it.

“So I found this incredible lady called Helen who does beekeeping courses, there’s a theory and a practical.

“I booked myself in for the course. Teddy got really sick and I said to the lady, ‘my dog’s not very well, I can’t leave him for too long, can we do some of the course at my house?’

“And she said ‘we can do the theory at your house then you can come and do the practical where I’ve got my hive’.”

But Stacey explained that, while at Pickle Cottage, her plumber Mark told them he’d just driven past a hive of bees, adding: “Helen was like, ‘let’s go get them, that could be your colony’.”

Despite Stacey’s protests that she “wasn’t ready”, Helen pushed on and they went to collect the bees to bring them back to Pickle Cottage.

Stacey then proudly showed off the hive, adding: “I have my very own Pickle Cottage bee hive and it’s the best thing ever.”

Other animals who call the property home include four ducks – Daisy, Delilah, Daphne and Delphine – and dogs Teddy and Peanut.

After her TV Bafta rant, insiders told how Stacey was “upset” and didn’t want to come across as “ungrateful”.

A source told OK! Magazine: “The negative comments really upset her, she takes them to heart, she never wants to be seen as ungrateful, because she’s not.

“She’s a really hard worker and gives her all to everything, so it’s devastating when it doesn’t pay off, and it understandably makes her worry.”

They added: “The fear of ‘Could I lose it all too? Could it all be over?’ is always there to some extent.”
