An unnamed ‘obsessed’ teenager, who was convicted of stalking Strictly Come Dancing star Claudia Fragapane, allegedly told police that she planned on murdering the family

A teenage school girl allegedly threatened to “murder” the family of Strictly Come Dancing star Claudia Fragapane after she was convicted of stalking the star.

The former professional gymnast, 27, was forced to leave her home after she was subjected to harassment by the 15 year old, who reportedly became obsessed with the star. The teenager, who can not be identified due to her age, was given a restraining order for stalking Claudia but was accused of breaching the terms of the order by posting on social media.

And due to the most recent allegation, she was arrested by police two days after posting on her chosen social media platform. It is believed that she told arresting officers at the time: “I’m going to murder all the family.”

The schoolgirl has denied breaching the restraining order at Bristol Magistrate’s Court.

Claudia appeared on Strictly in 2016 and was partnered with AJ Pritchard. At the time, the pair made it through to the semi-final. The case remains open.

Earlier this month, it was reported that Claudia was faced with no other option than to flee her home after being subjected to stalking by the unnamed teen.

At one point the schoolgirl found out where Claudia lived and appeared at her doorstep. Before the teenager was convicted of stalking, magistrates were informed that the former athlete’s sense of safety was non-existent as the incident had left her with “fear and anxiety.”

Despite a restraining order in place, the teenager allegedly attempted to instigate contact with Claudia, which landed her in trouble with police.

District Judge Lynne Matthews said, according to The Sun: “Claudia has no idea how [the defendant] found her. She left her own home because of her actions. She’s turned Claudia’s life upside down.”

The schoolgirl was issued with an 18-month rehabilitation order which states that she is required to live with her father, she has to be supervised for the duration and the restraining order was extended to forbid her from approaching Claudia at any location including her home.

Judge Lynne Matthews said: “I’d really like it if this was the last time you see me. Stay away from her [Claudia].”

The judge concluded that any breach of the rehabilitation order or extended restraining order may result in “detention.”

Claudia did not appear in court at the time.

    The BBC declined to comment.

Denise Welch declares ‘there’s life in the old girls yet’ as ITV announces huge cuts to Loose Women

She insists: ‘We’ve got our place’

oose Women star Denise Welch has opened up about feuds on the ITV daytime series amid news of big, upcoming changes to the show.

ITV announced “efficiencies” yesterday (Tuesday May 20) which affect scheduling and production for programmes such as Good Morning Britain, Lorraine, This Morning, as well as Loose Women.

But amid confirmation of the cuts, in an interview published today, Denise insisted in a defiant seven-word statement: “There’s life in the old girls yet.”

Admitting her frustration at such claims – and also that she sometimes plays devil’s advocate to stimulate debate – Denise also said everyone gets on “absolutely fine”.

“If we didn’t have discussions and debate, it would be a very boring show. Some people are closer than others. We all have geographic boundaries as well; we don’t all just live in London all of the time. I’m very proud to be a part of it!”

‘Life in these old girls yet’

And, with cuts looming, Denise also reflected on how Loose Women has evolved over the years.

She noted it was “never a staple of the daytime schedules like it is now”. That’s because Loose Women aired in cycles during which it was on the box for three months, then off for three months.

Denise also acknowledged episodes can be affected by events like the racing. However, she added: “We’ve got our place.”

The former Corrie actress also made mention of how she believes Loose Women’s strength is featuring panelists across a range of ages. She also made it clear she is delighted to be involved in a show that continues to celebrate that.

Denise went on: “What other show not only employs older women [but] reveres and celebrates the voices of older women? There’s life in these old girls yet.”

Meanwhile, earlier this week, Denise revealed she recently endured a sudden return of her depression while she was in Los Angeles.

Sharing how her “unwelcome visitor” manifests itself with physical symptoms, Denise expressed her surprise at being informed she may suffer from “non-headache migraines”

  • Why Katie Price ‘hated’ Loose Women and has vowed to ‘never’ return

Why Katie Price ‘hated’ Loose Women and has vowed to ‘never’ return

She left the panel in 2018

Former Loose Women star Katie Price has opened up about how she didn’t enjoy her time on the ITV show.

Katie, who rose to fame as a glamour model, joined the Loose Women panel in 2015 and left in 2018. While her time on the show kept the mum of five in the spotlight, she confessed she was having a “breakdown” at the time.

    Katie Price smiling
Katie appeared as a Loose Women panelist between 2015 and 2018 (Credit:

While speaking at the University of Cambridge students’ union, Katie said: “I hated doing that show. The interesting thing about Loose Women, I presented on it for two years, believe it or not, and it was around the start and during my breakdown and no one knew. I hid it very well on there.

“The only thing I didn’t like about Loose Women was, you had these in-ears and you’re told when you can speak, when you can’t, or if someone is talking, ‘Kate, don’t interrupt, Kate don’t say this, Kate don’t say that’, so it’s quite hard. Behind the scenes of TV is very different to how you see it.”

Katie admitted there were times when the show was “fun”. However, she announced she “would never, ever do it again”, even if they asked her to come back.

“I’ve been there and done [it] and I didn’t really enjoy it. I wasn’t really well, but no one really knew, it was the start of my breakdown, horrible days,” she continued.

Katie, who appeared on the show alongside the likes of Coleen Nolan, Andrea McLean, and Janet Street Porter, said she “liked the women” she worked with.

She insisted her next TV move should be having “my own presenting show”, adding: “That’s something I haven’t done, but it would have to be late night because there’s no filter with me.”

Why was Katie Price dropped from Loose Women?

Following Katie’s exit from Loose Women in 2018, fellow panelist Linda Robson said she left due to her behaviour behind the scenes.

In Linda’s book, Truth Be Told, she opened up about what it was like working with Katie.

“I love Katie Price but sometimes I think she deliberately tries to shock. I did an awards show with her once where we were both supposed to be presenting together but no one could find her anywhere,” she said.

“She finally showed up just in time. When we got out on the stage, she started talking about herself and I had to tell her, ‘Oi! It ain’t about you today’.

“Now whenever I see her, she tells me how she wants to come back to Loose Women. And I say, ‘But, Katie, you can’t [bleep]ing behave yourself, can you?’”

Linda declared she “worried” about her, admitting she thought Katie had “been out late the night before a show”, admitting: “She used to sleep in the car on her way in and would arrive in her pyjamas and get dressed when she got there.”

Linda recalled Katie making “plenty of headlines” when she appeared on the show

Coleen Nolan reveals fear following death of her beloved sister Linda

    Linda passed away in January

Coleen Nolan has revealed a fear she developed following the death of her sister, Linda.

Linda Nolan tragically passed away in January after a 20-year battle with cancer. Her sister Maureen later confirmed that she had contracted pneumonia over Christmas and that ultimately led to her death.

Since then Coleen has shared heartbreaking details on her grief journey, as well as Linda’s final moments. But today (May 19) she revealed a new fear she had after Linda passed away.

Coleen Nolan opened up on sister Linda’s funeral

On Loose Women today, the panel were discussing whether or not you should reach out to someone after hearing bad news – even if you are on bad terms with them.

The hosts all began sharing their own opinions, which led Coleen to reveal that Linda could “hold a grudge” and it actually resulted in Coleen developing a fear after her death.

She explained: “If you are somebody who holds grudges then it’s very hard to let it go. Linda, as much as I loved her, she did hold a grudge against certain people.

“She had a list of people that she never wanted to see. I remember when she passed away, I worried about it. I was like ‘please do not turn up to her funeral’. I don’t know what I would have done. She wouldn’t be happy.”

When Ruth asked her if Linda had given her a list of names she didn’t want in attendance, Coleen explained she didn’t need to because she already knew about all of them.

“I knew all of the people she had fallen out with – and all the people she didn’t like. I just kept thinking, please do not turn up.”

Coleen reveals details on four-year separation from sisters

The topic of holding grudges made Coleen also recall the four years she spent not speaking to her sisters Anne and Denise. And how it was their other sister Bernie’s funeral which brought them back together.

Coleen admitted: “When my sister Bernie died, me, Anne and Denise hadn’t spoken for four years. The first time we spoke was at Bernie’s funeral. It’s things like that which make you go: ‘What are we doing?’

“Life is too short. I could remember what the argument was about, but it seemed so pathetic. We just lost our sister and we had this stupid fall-out that just grew and grew. The reason was silly and it got out of hand.”

However, Coleen admitted that when Linda passed away, the amount of people she didn’t know that were getting in touch with her “meant a lot”. She explained that the messages of support “really helped” both her and her family move forward

Coleen Nolan takes brutal swipe at Janet Street-Porter during clash – as Charlene White steps in

The pair didn’t see eye-to-eye during today’s discussion

Loose Women star Janet Street-Porter opened up about her past relationship today – and co-host Coleen Nolan made a pretty savage remark.

On today’s episode of Loose Women (May 20) the panel found themselves discussing how to break up with someone. And if it’s ever okay to just tell someone you don’t love them any more.

While the panel were divided on the subject, Janet, who has been married four times, announced she’s previously found it easy to break up with someone.

    Janet Street-Porter on previous relationships

Janet Street-Porter has been married four time over the years. But none of them went the distance.

Instead, she currently is in a long-term relationship with former restaurateur and entrepreneur Peter Spanton. Despite being together since 1999, the couple have never taken the next step of marriage.

While discussing the subject today, Coleen Nolan admitted she would much rather someone break up with her than her having to be the one to call things off.

But Janet disagreed, confessing: “I didn’t have a problem doing it.” And then she proceeded to tell the panel a story of how she called off a previous engagement.

Janet didn’t say who the man was, only that they were engaged to be married. However, then she met someone else, who helped her realise she didn’t want to marry the man.

She explained: “I was supposed to be getting married. And then I met a gorgeous man and he asked me out. I said: ‘Well I’m supposed to be getting married, but I will deal with that.’ Then the next day I met my fiancé in a crowded pub, went straight up to him and I said: ‘Sorry it’s off. It’s over.’”

    Loose Women panellists shocked

While the other panellists were initially shocked, Katie Piper tried to back her up for being “honest and direct”. However, Coleen seemed very unimpressed.

She asked: “But he must have asked why – they always need to know a reason.”

Janet simply said that she “wasn’t prepared” to discuss it with him, and didn’t understand why there “always has to be a reason

I had just met Mr 100%. So get over it.

However, Coleen remained adamant: “But there is. When your heart is broken, you wonder why it happened.”

Janet thought aloud about what she could have said to the man at the time, admitting: “Well, I’m sorry love but things have moved on in the last 48 hours. You were once Mr 90% and now you have shrunk down the scale to 40%. And I had just met Mr 100%. So get over it.”

Coleen couldn’t believe that was Janet’s approach, and wondered if anyone had told her that they didn’t love her any more. And when she said nobody had said that to her, Coleen felt like that explained her behaviour.

    Janet and Coleen clash

Coleen added: “Well, you don’t know how it feels then. That’s why you can do it so easily. Because you don’t know the feeling.”

But Janet remained sure that she would do the same thing again if she ever felt unsure in a relationship.

She explained: “If you ever think your relationship is going in that direction, then get in first. Instead of swimming around in the shallows of emotion and turmoil. Just get it over with.”

That’s when Coleen made a savage dig at Janet’s previous marriages, leaving everyone in the studio shocked.

Coleen said: “But maybe if you had spoken a bit more and discussed your feelings then you wouldn’t have been onto your fourth marriage.”

The whole studio audience gasped, as did the panel. And by the shock on Janet’s face, she wasn’t expecting the dig either. But before she got a chance to respond, anchor Charlene White cut in to stop things going further.

Charlene closed the segment, saying: “I think it’s probably safe that we end things there and move on. I could see where that was going and we’re not going there.”

But realising that things may have gone too far, Coleen laughed and reached out to touch Janet’s shoulder, to show there were no hard feelings between the pair

Fears ITV will ‘combust from the inside out’ amid claims Loose Women staff furious at lack of This Morning cuts

ITV’s daytime schedule will see some changes next year

Staff members working on Loose Women are reportedly furious that they’ve had their show schedule cut down to 30 weeks a year by ITV, while This Morning has seemingly avoided any cuts.

ITV dropped some bombshell news earlier this week about the future of its daytime programmes, with Lorraine, GMB and Loose Women all facing major changes in 2026…

ITV announces major changes to daytime shows, including Loose Women

Earlier this week, ITV announced some major changes to its daytime shows that will take effect from January 2026.

It was revealed that from January, Lorraine Kelly’s self-titled show will be cut down from an hour to 30 minutes. Not only this, but it will only air on a seasonal basis for 30 weeks of the year.

Good Morning Britain will be 30 minutes longer, airing from 6am until 9.30am.

Meanwhile, Loose Women will also be airing on a seasonal basis for 30 weeks per year. This means that 100 fewer episodes of the show will air each year.

“Daytime is a really important part of what we do. And these scheduling and production changes will enable us to continue to deliver a schedule providing viewers with the news, debate and discussion they love from the presenters they know and trust. As well generating savings which will allow us to reinvest across the programme budget in other genres,” Kevin Lygo, Managing Director of ITV’s Media and Entertainment Division said.

Loose Women’s anger at This Morning

This Morning seemingly wasn’t majorly impacted by the changes, something that the staff at Loose Women are reportedly unhappy about.

According to The Sun, the cast were “kept in the dark” about the upcoming changes. Some of the more experienced cast members are also now said to be concerned that they will be “scrambling” for shifts, whilst younger, “PR friendly” cast members such as Frankie Bridge, GK Barry and Olivia Attwood get booked.

“The tension is unbearable. There’s a lot of rage towards This Morning, which everyone feels is constantly favoured despite it being the lame duck of the daytime flock. The infighting is a feverish time-bomb which executives are desperate to defuse. ITV Daytime could combust from the inside out at this rate,” a source at ITV alleged to the publication.

Loose Women cast concerned for their jobs after ITV cuts

The source then continued: “Execs have also proudly proclaimed how the youngsters have brought with them a much-needed new audience — and now all of a sudden the older panellists feel like they are going to have to fight for their places against these shiny teachers’ pets. It’s now five months or so for them to prove their worth and sing for their supper,” they claimed.

A source on Lorraine reportedly told The Sun that “everyone” is “furious” that This Morning has avoided any cuts. This is despite numerous negative headlines about the show over the last couple of years. Additionally, viewing figures have reportedly been falling.

A source close to Lorraine has reportedly claimed that the show’s star has “welcomed” the cuts to her show, as it means she can spend more time with her family.

“Lorraine’s only concern is if the standard of the show drops through losing key members of the team — which I suppose is a concern across the board. But with the Loose Women now all forced to spend every shift effectively auditioning for their own role, it’ll surely affect how bold, feisty and loose they’re prepared to be,” the source added.

220 staff members at ITV will reportedly lose their jobs due to the cuts.

ED! has contacted ITV for comment.

Lorraine airs from 9am on ITV1 and ITV1 on weekdays. This Morning follows at 10am. Loose Women airs from 12.30pm.

Holly stepped down from working with Stephen after one season

TV star Stephen Mulhern has opened up about no longer working alongside Holly Willoughby as he prepares to step out of his comfort zone.

Over the years, Holly and Stephen have remained good friends and have regularly hosted alongside one another. After working on Dancing On Ice for the past couple of series, it was announced that the ITV skating show had been axed.

Last year, Holly and Stephen teamed up to host the relaunch of ITV’s You Bet! However, it has since been revealed that Holly had decided to ditch the show and leave pal Stephen to present it alone.

In a new interview, Stephen admitted he was “gutted” that Holly decided to step down from her role.

“I’m gutted she’s not doing You Bet! with me, but I’ve had time to think about it and Bruce Forsyth was the first person to do You Bet! and he did it on his own,” he told TV Biz.

Looking on the positive side of things, Stephen said: “Maybe it happened for a reason. We’ve filmed one episode already without Holly, and it felt very comfortable. Maybe it is just a one-presenter show.”

Stephen admitted Holly did get in touch with him and arranged to break the news. He explained: “She just said: ‘Look, sorry, I can’t do it.’ She told me face to face. She said: ‘Look, I’m gutted but it’s all over.’”

The wife of celebrity chef Jamie Oliver is currently priced at 6/4.

Meanwhile, reality TV and boxing star Tommy Fury and actor Will Mellor are both priced at 3/1.

Tommy is no stranger to reality drama following stints on Love Island. On the other hand, Will became a fan favourite during his time on Strictly Come Dancing.

As ITV’s daytime lineup faces a shake-up, with sweeping job cuts dubbed a “bloodbath” threatening nearly half of its staff, it’s hard not to reflect on the rollercoaster year Loose Women has delivered on screen.

Whilst the show’s future is uncertain, it is known for its lively debates and candid revelations, which have created some of the most bizarre, emotional, and headline-grabbing moments.

Many are in shock at the news that nearly 220 staff members could lose their jobs across ITV’s daytime schedule, affecting flagship shows like Loose Women, Good Morning Britain, Lorraine, and This Morning.

Loose Women itself is being cut back to a “seasonal” schedule of 30 weeks a year in cost-saving measures. But before the dust settles on these dramatic changes, there have been some truly unforgettable moments that made Loose Women a must-watch, from shocking confessions to celebrity clashes.

Loose Women is no stranger to controversy, with many moments that have made headlines across the country. Here’s a look at the bizarre and unforgettable moments that kept viewers glued to their screens:

    Judy Finnigan's comments about rape
Judy Finnigan’s comments about rape sparked controversy(Image: ITV)

    ‘Rapist sympathising’ storm

Judy Finnigan made a controversial debut in 2014 when she spoke about footballer Ched Evans’ rape conviction appeal, saying: “The rape was not violent, he didn’t cause any bodily harm to the person.”

Outraged viewers accused her of sympathising with a rapist. She later clarified: “I absolutely wasn’t suggesting that rape was anything other than an horrendous crime… I was in no way attempting to minimise the terrible ordeal that any woman suffers as a result.”

Earlier in 2006, the Irish Independent reported that Loose Women conducted a poll asking viewers whether they believed rape could ever be a woman’s fault. The poll was met with widespread criticism from viewers and organizations such as Rape Crisis, leading ITV to issue an apology, acknowledging the poll as “misjudged”.

    Harvey shocked viewers

In 2016, Katie Price’s son Harvey shocked viewers when he joined the show to talk about online bullying. Asked how he’d respond to trolls, he said: “Hello, you c***.”

Katie quickly reacted with, “Erm, Harvey!”, as Andrea McLean stepped in to apologise for the language.

In 2015, Coleen Nolan sparked fury by defending a bakery that refused to decorate a cake supporting same-sex marriage. She compared it to being asked to make a cake with an ISIS message, saying: “Would they have to make that?”

The comments prompted outrage, with viewers demanding she be sacked, though no action was taken.

Joan Rivers swears on Loose Women

Joan Rivers’ swear-filled red carpet rant

Comedy legend Joan Rivers didn’t hold back in 2008 when asked about her Hollywood encounters: “You get someone like Russell Crowe, and you want to say to the camera, ‘ He is a piece – get ready to bleep this – of f****** s***!’”

Her panellist pals had to scramble to apologise, with Jane McDonald quipping: “We haven’t got a bleeper. We’re live!”

    Fat-shaming fury

Janet Street-Porter faced backlash in 2022 after saying Wayne Rooney looked like he was “about to explode” out of his suit during the Wagatha Christie trial.

Angry viewers branded her “vile”, with one asking: “Imagine if she was saying that about a woman?”

Continuing with the theme of fat-shaming, in 2015, the BBC reported Jamelia faced criticism after stating that high street stores shouldn’t stock clothes for individuals above a certain size, suggesting that it encourages unhealthy lifestyles. She later apologised, clarifying that her comments were taken out of context.

    Katie Price’s bum flash

Viewers were left open-mouthed in 2016 when Katie Price modelled a high-slit dress during a fashion segment and accidentally flashed her bum on live TV.

Some called it “awkward viewing” – others hailed her figure as “amazing”.

    Kim Woodburn walks out

Tensions erupted in 2018 when Kim Woodburn stormed off set, branding Coleen Nolan “lying trash” and calling her a “piece of filth” after a brutal on-air clash.

The explosive row prompted over 3,000 Ofcom complaints, with Kim later claiming she’d been ambushed.

Coleen and the panel said they had “genuinely hoped for a reconciliation”.

    Charlotte Crosby’s nose job clash

Charlotte Crosby vowed never to return after feeling “bullied” over her nose job in 2016.

In an awkward grilling, Janet Street-Porter asked: “What message does that send to teenage girls who… might think, ‘My nose has a lump in it but I haven’t got four grand to spend’?”

In 2015, there was outrage and a public backlash after Josie Cunninham revealed that she had an abortion so that she could get nose job to further her porn career. Jane Moore heavily criticised her being on the show, stating: “I was very uncomfortable with you coming on the show today. I don’t like the fact that you are on the show. It’s not because I don’t like you.

“You need help as far as I’m concerned, to actually look at yourself and say, ‘Why do I have such a low opinion of myself that I think that porn and all of this’…you don’t have any self-esteem and when you look in the mirror I feel that you will never like what you see.”

Katie Piper has spoken candidly about turning 40 – a milestone she once thought she would never reach following a near-fatal acid attack in 2008

Broadcaster and campaigner Katie Piper has described turning 40 as a milestone she never expected to reach, reflecting on the traumatic events that nearly claimed her life 17 years ago.

In an interview with The Times, the Loose Women panellist said she was surprised by the negative societal attitudes surrounding women ageing, particularly given the life-threatening ordeal she endured in her twenties.

“It was quite shocking for me, because turning 40 was only ever positive,” Piper said. “It was a celebration of my life and reaching a milestone I never thought I’d reach.”

Piper was 24 when she suffered life-changing injuries in an acid attack orchestrated by her ex-boyfriend, Daniel Lynch, in March 2008. Just two days after Lynch raped and stabbed her, he arranged for 19-year-old Stefan Sylvestre to throw sulphuric acid in her face.

The attack left Piper with extensive burns and permanent damage, including the loss of her nose, part of her ear, her eyelids, and partial vision in one eye. She was treated at a specialist burns unit in London, where surgeons performed pioneering reconstructive procedures, including the UK’s first use of a skin substitute to rebuild her face.

Her injuries also required extensive surgery to her mouth and tongue. Despite the severity of her injuries, Piper has since gone on to build a successful career in broadcasting and advocacy.

In the years following the attack, she waived her right to anonymity and told her story in the Channel 4 documentary Katie: My Beautiful Face, which brought national attention to the issue of acid attacks.

In 2009, she founded The Katie Piper Foundation, which supports burns survivors through rehabilitation and care. In 2022, she was awarded an OBE for her services to charity and victims of burns and other disfigurements.

She joined the panel of ITV’s Loose Women in 2021 and previously competed in Strictly Come Dancing in 2018. Piper has also published a best-selling autobiography and continues to use her platform to raise awareness about visible difference and resilience.

While acknowledging that her public profile stemmed from the attack, Piper emphasised that she does not want her achievements to be defined by it.

“It’s not like I’m an actress or a pop star,” she said. “I came to public attention as a news story, as a victim of a violent crime. I hope, 17 years on, I’m doing something different, but I think it’s probably unfair of me to say, ‘I don’t want to talk about the burns and the attack anymore.’”

She added: “I think it’s more that I don’t want to attribute my success [since] to that man’s actions against me.”

Piper said her continued success should instead be credited to her own resilience and hard work. “If I’m seen on Loose Women laughing about something entirely different or presenting a totally different show, the public starts to accept visibly different people doing lots of different things. And that is when inclusion and acceptance happen,” she said.

Since her recovery, Piper has married carpenter Richard Sutton, with whom she shares two daughters, Belle, 11, and Penelope, 7. The couple had hoped to have a third child but had to reconsider after Piper underwent emergency eye surgery.

Reflecting on the early assumptions made about her future, Piper said she was once expected to live a limited life. “For a long time, it was assumed that I’d be dependent on [my] parents and have a mediocre existence,” she said. “I had to write the rule book for me.”

Daniel Lynch was convicted of rape, grievous bodily harm, and actual bodily harm, and was sentenced to life imprisonment with a minimum term of 16 years. Sylvestre received a life sentence with a minimum of six years and was released in 2018 after serving nine years. Lynch is expected to appear before a parole board next month.

Piper continues to campaign for greater understanding and support for those living with visible differences and remains committed to using her platform to foster greater inclusivity and resilience in public life.
