Conor Maynard has spoken out about the moment he found out he wasn’t the father of The Traitors star Charlotte Chilton’s baby

Conor Maynard has spoken out after discovering that he was not the father of The Traitors star Charlotte Chilton’s baby.

In his first TV interview during Friday’s This Morning, the singer spoke out about the moment he received the results of the paternity test.

In October, Traitors star Charlotte Chilton gave birth to her first child, Penelope. In November, the first-time mum, who had publicly claimed Conor as daughter Penelope’s father, and alleged he was not involved with the baby.

However after months of drama, back in March, Conor put out a statement to say he had taken a paternity test and was not the father. He wrote at the time: “Earlier this week, I took a paternity test regarding Charlotte Chilton’s baby girl, Penelope, in the presence of her legal representative. Today I’ve received the test results which confirm that I am not Penelope’s father.

“I am glad that the speculation can finally be put to an end. All I would ask is that people act with kindness in response to this news – there is a child at the heart of all of this and that should not be forgotten. I wish Charlotte and her family all the best. Conor.”

Now, Conor, who had previously spoke out about his struggles with anxiety at the time, told hosts Paddy McGuinness and Alison Hammond about the struggles he faced during “the worst year” of his life.

“The last year has been really difficult, and mental health has been something I’ve struggled with for a big portion of my life,” he began. “This most recent year has definitely been up there in terms of my experience and battle with it.

“A lot of things have contributed to why things have been so difficult,” the star continued.

Paddy then went on to ask Conor how he felt when he found out he wasn’t the father, but “funnily enough it wasn’t an instant relief,” he told the hosts.

“I actually felt like I was going to have a massive panic attack the second I found out,” Conor admitted. “That’s the difficult truth about mental health. When something traumatic happens to you, the second that traumatic event stops you don’t think, ‘Oh I’m fine now.’ It doesn’t work out like that.”

Although Conor’s friends wanted to go out for a drink that night, the star admitted he didn’t feel up to it, and opted to stay in with his girlfriend instead.

Summing up his emotions, Conor continued: “It was confusion, and feeling like, ‘Why did that have to happen?’”

Concluding, the singer said: “When the result came in, it was unbelievable, but it wasn’t instant relief. It took a lot of time to process and really understand.”

This Morning reached out to Charlotte’s representative to offer them a right of reply, however, they declined to comment at this time.

ITV has spoken out after reports of backstage panic and uncertainty rocked the set of Loose Women.

An insider at the broadcaster has insisted it has no plans for “radical changes” to the popular daytime show’s line-up, following speculation that some long-standing panellists are fearing for their future.

The drama unfolded after it was revealed Loose Women will air for just 30 weeks per year from January. This reduction reportedly left some panellists feeling “blindsided” and “in a state of panic.”

Addressing the speculation, an ITV insider told The Mirror: “We are not planning any radical changes to the panel. All of our Loose Women are hugely valued. We celebrate each and every one and the experience and opinions they bring to the show every day.

“Many of our long-standing panellists have appeared on the show for the majority of its 25-year run on screens. Those stalwart, Loose legends are at the core of the show’s success and hugely popular with the audience. The show remains a big priority within our daytime slate, having secured a BAFTA nomination, launched a podcast, and celebrated a milestone anniversary in the last year alone.”

‘The Loose Women ladies are all gutted’

Despite ITV’s reassurances, the shake-up left some Loose Women stars deeply concerned. It’s understood that a number of panellists, including Ruth Langsford and Kaye Adams, reached out to the production team in a state of panic after the announcement.

Meanwhile, Jane Moore and Nadia Sawalha have addressed the cuts. Nadia fought back tears as she spoke of her concerns for the staff behind the scenes on the show.

In an exclusive statement to Entertainment Daily, ITV confirmed its commitment to Loose Women, at least for now.

“At a time when our daytime teams are undergoing a period of change, we will not comment on speculation around talent or staff contracts,” the network said.

“Our daytime schedule and shows remain exactly as they are until the end of this year. We have always said that our intention going forward is to keep our daytime shows as familiar to viewers as possible, which includes seeing presenters they know and love.”

Fans watching The One Show were so impressed by Alex Jones’ replacement, Clara Amfo, last night (May 28) that they demanded she become a permanent fixture.

During Wednesday evening’s show, Clara was joined by JLS singer JB Gill as her co-host. The pair welcomed to the green couch US superstar John Legend, and Angela Scanlon and Vicky Pattison, who were promoting their new podcast.

Usually, Welsh presenter Alex Jones and former Capital FM DJ Roman Kemp regularly host the show. However, as they took time off, Clara, 41, and JB, 38, stepped in yesterday.

Following last night’s show, viewers took to X to react to Clara temporarily replacing Alex, insisting she should permanently host the BBC chat show.

‘I always choose projects that are authentic to me’

During a 2021 interview with Harper’s Bazaar, Clara opened up about how she’s managed to succeed as a broadcaster.

The former Strictly star, who used to be a DJ on BBC Radio 1, insisted it’s always important to “always be yourself”.

“When you’re broadcasting, you are putting yourself out there and it needs to be an authentic you. That’s what’s going to make you special and unique: being you is what you have to offer. Especially as a woman – and as a Black woman – I know that I can make myself more palatable if I present my hair in a particular way or if I dress in a particular way, but I just know I would be doing a disservice to myself,” she said.

Clara continued: “It’s the same with my work ethic; I always choose projects that are authentic to me. I never work with a product I would never use myself. That’s the best advice I could give someone wanting to get into this field: do it because you love the work. It’s a tough industry and it’s competitive, so you have to really be in it because it is authentically your passion

Just weeks after finishing as runner-up on Strictly, Tasha and Andrew announced that they’d split after two years together.

Now, four months on from their break-up, it’s been revealed that Tasha has found romance once more with CBBC presenter Cam Whitnall.

The 29 year old stars in the CBBC series’ One Zoo Three, as well as BBC show OZT Goes Wild.

Cam, whose family runs Hertfordshire Zoo, is also the managing director of a non-profit charity, The Big Cat Sanctuary. The charity rescues wild cats and protects species that are at risk of extinction.

According to the MailOnline, the couple have bonded over their love of animals.

Speaking to the publication, a source said: “Tasha and Cam are in the early stages of dating.

“They have been seeing each other for around a month now and share so much in common, from a personal and professional standpoint,” they then continued.

“Cam is a great guy and has a lot going for him, Tasha has definitely been thrilled getting to know him and the feeling is mutual.”

In a statement to ED!, a spokesperson for Tasha said: “Tasha and Cam have been getting to know each other and have been on a few dates.”

During a recent podcast appearance, Tasha opened up about her split from Andrew and how Strictly heightened issues that were already there.

“I know a lot of people said it’s the Strictly curse, but you know, there were things that were communicated before Strictly and I feel like Strictly heightened it. That’s kind of what happened actually,” she said on the Spooning podcast.

“My head was kind of saying ‘stay in it, just trust it, it will change’ but it didn’t and that’s where we had to sit down and think ‘am I going to be happy in 10 years time, five years time, two years time?’” she then continued.

Brooklyn Beckham’s team gave a “warm nod” to dad David – a sign thought to represent hope amid the family’s spat.

The aspiring chef launched hot sauce brand Cloud23 last year and encourages customers to contact it using the open channel on its website. It recently published a question sent from a fan, asking for more information about the brand.

The response, available on the site, details how Brooklyn chose the number “23” in a homage to his father, who wore the jersey number during his time at Real Madrid and LA Galaxy. David made more than 100 appearances for the Spanish side over a four-year period, scoring 13 goals.

“The 23 included in our brand is a warm nod to Brooklyn’s father, David Beckham, who wore number 23 while playing for Real Madrid and LA Galaxy, inspired by NBA legend Michael Jordan,” Brooklyn’s team replied.

Fans took to social media to express their joy at the move, maintained since Brooklyn launched the brand last autumn. One described the decision as “a warm nod” to David while another called it “a tentative sign of peace” amid the ongoing apparent dispute in the family.

It began when Brooklyn, 26, and his wife Nicola Peltz, 30, didn’t attend David’s birthday meal in Notting Hill, London, recently. The strain has become so deep for mum Victoria, 51, that she is said to have experienced sleepless nights recently.

But the warm reply on the Cloud23 site indicates Brooklyn, who played in the Arsenal FC Academy as a kid, has not severed all ties with his parents. The response refers to David’s long association with the shirt number, which he possessed at LA Galaxy as well as Real Madrid. They reportedly did not see the same character traits in the two women and Harry, 40, suffered a further blow as Lady McCorquodale and Lady Fellowes “thought Meghan would not fit in with the Royal Family.” Regardless, Harry married his partner soon after in 2018 and has gone onto have two children with the former actress.

The insights have come about in the book Revenge: Meghan, Harry, and the War Between the Windsors, written by royal biographer Tom Bower. He penned: “Harry assumed that Diana’s family and friends would see a similarity between Diana and his fiancée. Both, he said, shared the same problems. He was so disappointed.”

Meghan Markle has found herself hitting headlines this week – and for all the wrong reasons.

First, the Duchess of Sussex was rocked when an alleged list of outrageous demands – which lost her the chance to appear on the front cover of fashion bible Vogue – was leaked. According to claims, Meghan piled so much pressure on the then-editor of Vogue UK Edward Enninful ahead of a potential appearance in the UK Vogue September 2022 issue that the pair fell out

Meghan, 43, had been working with Edward on a collaboration for the prestigious fashion issue that would include her keynote appearance at the One Young World Summit in Manchester, along with “involved extensive features across the magazine and its digital editions”.

But the duchess, nicknamed ‘Duchess Difficult’ by her US staff, allegedly demanded to have the global cover of Vogue – appearing on the front covers of both the US and UK versions at the same time – and even appealed to Anna Wintour in a bid to persuade her.

She then badgered Enninful with a list of six demands, a source tells Page Six.

“Meghan asked for control over [the] photographer, writer, final edit, photos, cover lines, and wanted a global issue,” they revealed. “Nobody gets that. Not even Beyoncé.”

But Enninful already had supermodel Linda Evangelista booked for the September 2022 cover, and is said to have been unwavering in his decision to keep her.

Krakue’s main point was that Meghan, given her fame and wealth, doesn’t need to complicate her public persona. “You’re hot. You married a prince. Give us the tea. That’s all we need from her,” she said.

Referencing Meghan’s recent projects – including her podcast Archetypes and her Netflix series With Love – Krakue suggested that many of the duchess’s ventures have not been especially well-received. And that her millions mean that her business offerings are ‘low risk’.

However, she made clear that her criticisms weren’t rooted in personal animosity, adding that she wishes her ‘every success’.

Still, Krakue concluded that Meghan may be trying too hard to project an image that doesn’t quite align with her reality. “She’s not a chemist. She’s not a physicist. And that’s fine,” she said. “Sometimes it’s OK to just be pretty and to have good fortune in life – and to ride that wave.”

When the Duchess of Sussex launched her products, including her jam, honey and flower sprinkles earlier this year as part of her As Ever range, they sold out in just over 30 minutes.

Since then those who were unable to get their hands on the items have been patiently waiting for the As Ever website to be restocked. However, in a new interview, Meghan told of how instead of simply restocking, she wants to “take a step back, gather data and figure out what As Ever could be.”

Speaking to Fast Company, she revealed that new products were expected in the first quarter of next year. And teasing what they could be, she explained: “I want to really focus on the hospitality angle of As Ever, but as we take the learnings, we can understand what the customer’s needs are seasonally.”

A trademark application for As Ever showed that her brand may one day intend to sell the likes of cookbooks, tableware and cutlery. But she added that fashion is also something she wants to dabble in too. She added: “The category of fashion is something I will explore at a later date because I do think that’s an interesting space for me.”

Hugh Jackman’s childhood best friend, Gus Worland, shared his two pence on the Wolverine actor’s divorce from Deborra-Lee Furness. Although the famous couple announced their split in September 2023, Deborra-Lee only recently filed the divorce proceedings in a New York court house on May 23.

At the time of their split, they said they had spent almost three decades together but were seeking to develop “individual growth” but their family remained their top priority. Amid their divorce, close friend and radio presenter Gus, who went to primary school with Hugh, appeared on 2GB’s Ben Fordham Live on Thursday and shared how Hugh’s doing.

“No one wants anyone to go through what he is and he is going through it publicly because of his fame,” he explained.

Meanwhile, on May 23, Deborra-Lee officially filed for divorce. Records seen by the Mirror show that her lawyer, Elena Karabatos, filed several other notices, including a proposed qualified medical child support order, a certificate of dissolution, the settlement and a proposed judgment of divorce, which is still pending.

As the judgment of divorce is still pending, a judge needs to sign it off before the judgment can be officially made. Deborra, who adopted two children with Hugh, 56, is believed to have received a “handsome spousal support payment”.

A source claims there will be “no drama” between the pair once their marriage is officially dissolved. “A settlement was reached that Deborra is pleased with which includes a handsome spousal support payment,” a source said.

They went on to tell the Daily Mail: “There was some back and forth regarding this financial agreement but, in the end, she got what she believed she deserved. Both are coming out of this financially secure. There is not going to be any drama with this gives closure that she needed.

Meanwhile, another source claimed that the divorce is “not contested”, stating that there wasn’t a huge disagreement between the estranged couple.

It’s believed that they had worked out the details in advance and all issues, including a settlement, alimony and expenses for their children, had been decided.

Cruz Beckham’s girlfriend, Jackie Apostel, channelled her inner Victoria Beckham as she shared snaps of herself rocking a bob and a stunning black dress. She bore a striking resemblance to Posh Spice in her heyday in an off-the-shoulder form-fitting black dress with a slicked back bob.

In one snap, the 29-year-old gave the camera a pout as she leaned on the wall behind her. Another showed her looking off-screen as she gave a sly smile. The star, who captioned the carousel of snaps with an anatomically correct heart emoji, also showed fans a polaroid of Cruz, 20, giving her a kiss on the cheek.

In recent months, fans have noticed her rocking similar looks to ones Victoria has rocked over the years, including modern versions of her iconic little black dress, leisurewear and a gorgeous satin dress.

Earlier this month, while the Beckham family feud was still fresh, Jackie seemingly took a swipe at Cruz’s older brother Brooklyn and his wife Nicola Peltz.

Jackie appeared alongside him at several of David Beckham’s 50th birthday events. While the rest of the Beckham clan gathered to toast the milestone, one pair was noticeably absent – his eldest son Brooklyn and his wife, actress Nicola.

Jackie, who is said to have grown close to Victoria, subtly added fuel to the fire with a seemingly heartfelt Instagram post from the festivities.

One photo showed Cruz cheekily holding a knife toward her in a joking manner, while Jackie captioned the collection: “I wish you could feel how much love was in the room these days through the phone.” A sweet sentiment on the surface – but fans had speculated that it was also a quiet dig at those who chose not to show up.

In December last year, an insider told The Mirror Victoria was concerned about the age gap in Cruz’s relationship with the Brazilian singer.

They told the Mirror: “Although Victoria is pleased that Cruz seems happy in his relationship, she does have some concerns about the age gap and whether her youngest son is ready for that kind of commitment.

“She really likes Jackie, and Jackie seems to get on with all the family but Victoria would be lying if she said that her being 10 years older than Cruz isn’t a worry. Cruz is still a teenager whereas Jackie is a fully grown woman who is at a different stage in her life and may want things that Cruz is not quite ready for.

“Victoria knows her kids have had to grow up quicker than ‘normal’ kids but she wants them to have as much fun as possible before they settle down.

“She is conscious of being seen as the interfering ‘mother-in-law’ but she has to protect her children and she’s also joked that she doesn’t want it to be Cruz who is the first one to make her a grandma!”
