A huge and devastating storyline begins on Coronation Street next week, as the ITV soap tackles drug use and LSD.

It’s been teased there are huge repercussions for all those involved and the wider community. With one character set to be in a bad way after seemingly accidentally taking the drugs in a drink, two others are left facing turmoil as the effects of the LSD take hold.

So much about the episodes is being kept under wraps, but fans can expect danger, twists and turmoil ahead. New details about the plot and the episodes have been revealed in a preview clip.

In a clip that follows on from Summer Spellman and Nina Lucas drinking the LSD, Aadi Alahan wonders where his cup has gone. The girls panic as they realise they took their eyes off it, and now a room full of people are partying while holding similar or the same cups.

As the trio try to figure out who has taken and possibly drunk from the cup with the drugs in, Aadi panics when he learns his twin sister Asha has left the house for work just after drinking lemonade. Aadi tells the girls it was a cup of lemonade that the LSD was in, and he frantically calls his sister – but is paramedic Asha in danger?

In the preview, Nina and Summer are starting to feel the effects of the LSD ahead of what turns out to be a dramatic night for the duo. As Aadi asks where the cup is, they all head to the kitchen searching high and low for it.

As they scan the room and watch every party goer, Summer says: “Everyone seems normal.” It’s then that they all fear Asha has drunk the LSD before heading to work.

The clip ends as Aadi calls his sibling with it not shown if she answers and whether she is the mystery person who has taken the drink. With spoilers confirming that someone has accidentally taken it and drunk from the cup, we know that there could be a tragic victim caught up in the drugs plot.

Cryptic spoilers for the end of the week confirm that the person in question ends up taking a bad turn, as their condition deteriorates. It’s not revealed what specifically happens and who it is, and what their fate will be.

So will poor Asha pay the price for her brother’s decision to take drugs? Viewers will have to tune in next week to find out who it is and what happens next, but it promises to be an unmissable week of the show.

Spoilers confirmed that Aadi faces questions over rumours of drugs when the police come knocking, while Nina and Summer end up witnessing something.

Actor Shane Richie has addressed his ‘exit’ from EastEnders, as his character Alfie Moon left for some time away in Australia.

Of course fans know this wasn’t where he was really headed, after he’d told wife Kat Slater how he was going to visit his brother Spencer Moon. Just days earlier, Alfie had visited Kat’s cousin Stacey Slater only to find his stepdaughter, Kat’s daughter, Zoe Slater there too.

This was Michelle Ryan’s big return to the role and the BBC soap for the first time in 20 years. Now she’s making a permanent return, but this week we saw her flee and didn’t reveal where she was going.

Stacey and Alfie were sure she’d fled back to Spain, while she appeared to be in big trouble there. It soon turned out she’d made up death threats and messages about some money she owed, and Zoe confessed she was hiding a massive secret.

As she prepared to tell Alfie and Stacey what was going on, she refused to reunite with her mother Kat and banned them from telling her she was there. She hinted whatever she was hiding was “unforgivable” and really bad, and no one could know.

But before we could find out what it was she ran away, with Alfie and Stacey desperately trying to track her down. On Thursday night we saw Alfie leave the Square ‘for Australia’, while it was clear Kat wasn’t convinced.

Alfie told Stacey he was going to bring Zoe home and set off to track her down. Speaking exclusively to The Mirror before the scenes aired, Alfie actor Shane addressed his onscreen ‘exit’ and explained where he was in real life.

He also appeared to tease how long Alfie would be gone for after his claims it would be two weeks tops. Shane explained he was off for around a month, not filming in this time.

This doesn’t mean he will be offscreen for this amount of time or longer, but it could well mean Alfie extends his trip out of the Square. He told us: “I’ve been away for four or five weeks because I’ve been on tour with my mates.

“I’m coming back and reading scripts and going, ‘Oh my God!”. So the tour paved the way for Alfie’s own break from Walford, with it written in that he would go and find returning character Zoe.

Whether he manages to bring her back remains to be seen, but Zoe will be back onscreen this summer. Actress Michelle teased a massive storyline they were currently filming for her return, teasing “high stakes” with multiple night shoots.

While Shane didn’t mention Zoe or actress Michelle at all when we spoke to him, with the return still under wraps at this point, he appeared to tease the big plot that Michelle has this week referred to. Teasing a storyline “bigger than the 40th episodes”, he revealed a huge plot was kicking off that would run until at least the New Year.

Teasing all, Shane revealed new producer Ben Wadey had huge things planned for the show. The actor told us: “He has told me some things. I said let me sit down.

“There’s fireworks, there’s Kat and Alfie. There is a story that is about to kick in, which will carry on through to after Christmas. Honestly it’s a big story. If you thought the 40th was big wait until you see this story. That’s all I’m saying.”

Shane also teased there was more drama to come for Alfie’s son Tommy Moon and his pal and now blackmailer Joel Marshall, who assaulted a woman this week and had Tommy film it. Amid Tommy’s turmoil, Shane teased things would continue in scenes yet to be aired after Alfie’s exit.He hinted of what was to come for Tommy and Joel: “[It will continue]. While I was away something [big was being filmed].” He didn’t give anything away but confirmed it was while Alfie was away.

Former Coronation Street star Sue Cleaver has revealed if she will ever appear on a rival soap following her final appearance as Eileen Grimshaw airing earlier this month. The 61-year-old actress announced her decision to bid farewell to Weatherfield at the start of this year, after an impressive 25 years on the ITV soap.

At the time, she issued a heartfelt statement: “I’ve had 25 privileged years of working on Coronation Street,” adding further, “The door is still firmly open but as I reached my 60th year, I decided it was time to embrace change, look for new adventures and live fearlessly.”

Sue hasn’t been idle during her tenure on the Street – she took a hiatus to tread the boards as Mother Superior in Sister Act before gracing our screens as a panellist on ITV’s Loose Women in 2024.

She also enjoyed a stint on I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! Back in 2022. But now she has the time to commit to other projects, will Sue be popping up on a rival soap like Coronation Street or EastEnders?

It’s not unheard of for actors to pop up in multiple soap universes, with the likes of Denise Welch and Michelle Collins appearing on both EastEnders and Coronation Street.

Speaking in a new interview, Sue says she is “chuffed” with her Corrie legacy, and believes she was given “a wonderful send off” but admits she is ready to “live fearlessly.”

“I think people forget that you either have courage or you don’t, courage is a muscle, start really small and put yourself out of your comfort zone for a couple of minutes a day, enquire about a book club or evening class, because that muscle really does,” the actress muses.

Sue continues to recall to The Sun how filming her final scenes “was really weird feeling, but it felt right” and it was “the right time” to go. She is now ready to take advantage of her new found “freedom” after spending over two decades at ITV.

“I love doing Loose Women, there are other things I want to do and there is a lot more of the world I want to see,” Sue admits. But when it comes to going over to the dark side and popping into The Queen Vic or the Woolpack, Sue is adamant that she is still loyal to Corrie.

She rules out appearing on another soap “at this stage” as she is still “very committed to Corrie”, adding: “I’ve been incredibly fortunate and it gave me the opportunity that not many actresses have, to be at home, to be there for my son in the morning and put him to bed at night and to have a proper home life, whereas normally you have to go where the work is. I’ve been extremely fortunate, it’s not lost on me how lucky I’ve been, it has a big place in my heart.”

Speaking to the Mirror in May, Sue opened up on her decision to have co-star Ryan Thomas return for her final episodes, as his character Eileen’s son Jason Grimshaw makes a huge offer. Sue shared: “Ryan was there from the start, and he was inconveniently living in Thailand, and it wouldn’t be too far of a jump to expect that if Eileen was going to make a leap, that she would involve her son.

“And so when I decided to leave, like over a year ago, I rang Ryan, and I said, ‘Ryan, I’m going to tell them that I’m going, and if they ask me about exits, I’d really like to say that you’d come back and take me out, but I don’t know whether they’d go for it or not’.

“And he just went, ‘Oh my gosh, of course, I would’, which was so lovely for me. And it was just so nice to have him back and filming those final scenes with him. It just felt like I’d come full circle really.”

Katie Price is once again at the centre of fan concern after unveiling a noticeably thinner frame in her latest Instagram offering. The former glamour model, 47, posed up a storm in a striking mirror selfie where she showed off her assets in a tiny pink bikini.

The mum-of-five is currently living it up in Ibiza and has been teasing fans with an array of snaps from her party-filled getaway with the likes of Wayne Lineker and Conor McGregor. On Tuesday evening, Katie told her fans that she was gearing up for some sunbathing as she snapped a photo of herself in the mirror before heading outside to lay in the sun.

Never one to shy away from showing off some skin, Katie showcased her slim waist in the bikini snap as she tied her black hair up in a messy bun and covered her makeup-free complexion with a pair of oversized sunglasses.

While some of Katie’s fans gushed over her summer look, others couldn’t help but share their concern for the reality TV star. One commented: “Soo soo sad to see Katie like this.. I hope she goes and gets the help she needs.. she isn’t well at all.”

“Because the past three, four years ago when I broke my feet and I was in a wheelchair for 10 months because they said I’d never walk again, and obviously you put weight on being in a wheelchair. And then I did all the IVF stuff, that also puts on weight. So yeah I did put on weight and I hated it, I felt uncomfortable and it wasn’t me.”

Despite having undergone multiple surgeries – including six facelifts – Katie insists she’s not trying to avoid aging. She said: “I’m not afraid of getting old: I like getting old because you become wiser. But with the face and that I just think if there’s something to tweak it’s just easy to do.”

Only days after another procedure, Katie reflected on one of her worst cosmetic surgery experiences—a botched Brazilian butt lift. Speaking on Katherine Ryan’s What’s My Age Again? podcast, she said: “I tried that BBL abroad where they take your own fat and put it in your bum. It was so painful. And it just did not look right on me.”

The ordeal left a lasting impression. “I would never have surgery in England again. Ever, ever,” she added, making clear her preference for international clinics.

Katie, who recently showcased her latest transformation at a Pride event in Portsmouth, revealed the results of more filler injections and a visibly altered physique. Yet even that celebration was clouded by renewed anxiety from fans, many of whom have publicly pleaded for her to slow down.

Zoe Ball and Jo Whiley have teamed up to launch a new podcast. The Radio 2 legends have joined forces for the new project, which promises to be a “warm and welcoming conversation with old mates”.

The pair are fronting a special podcast which will feature “heartfelt and unfiltered conversations” as they discuss raising a family, careers, ageing and living healthily. There will be two episodes each week and special bonus content for those who subscribe.

Zoe said of their new project: “I’m so super-excited to dive into the world of podcasting with my girl Jo, I’ve got so much love and respect for her – she’s been a true lifeline. Our friendship goes back 30 years, to our days on The Word and The Big Breakfast.

“We’ve grown up together, personally and professionally, along with our listeners. The show is what happens when two mates (who are constantly mistaken for each other) hit record on their regular catch-ups and talk life, unfiltered and full volume. We’re chatting about our week, wild kids, ageing, what’s for dinner, digging (literally), music obsessions, grief and everything in between.”

“The show will open a world of conversation on topics we don’t normally discuss on air and, importantly, will bring us much closer to the listeners and fans who have made our careers so special over the last 30 years.”

Zoe stepped back from her breakfast show last year, leaving her fans devastated. She was replaced by Scott Mills but Zoe has since made her return to radio and now presents a weekend afternoon show.

Announcing the news in February, Helen Thomas, Head of Radio 2, said: “Zoe is one of the UK’s most loved presenters, so I’m thrilled to announce that she has a new home on Radio 2 on Saturday lunchtimes, plus she’ll be hosting various specials for us.”

Zoe also fronted the BBC’s big VE Day concert, which saw the likes of Samantha Barks, Fleur East, John Newman, Victor Ray, Freya Ridings and Keala Settle all perform to honour the anniversary.

EastEnders fans were left in stitches this week after Kat Slater appeared to momentarily slip into a northern accent.

Jessie Wallace, who has played the character since 2000, delivered one line in an unusual voice recently and viewers were quick to pick up on it. The moment came during an exchange with Kat’s troublesome teenage son, Tommy (Sonny Kendall), who cheekily told his mum: “Chill out, love.” In response, she shot back: “Love?”

Eagle-eyed viewers swore the word came out sounding suspiciously northern, prompting a flood of amused comments on X. One fan wrote: “Absolutely obsessed with Kat going northern # EastEnders.” Another joked: “No because why did she do this, he didn’t even say it like that LMFAOOO.”

A third viewer observed: “I thought it was a really odd way to repeat the word. He’s not northern, she isn’t. Cute though.” And a fourth quipped: “Pat Phoenix’s spirit returning to Jessie Wallace for a split second in 2025 #EastEnders.”

That last comment referred to Wallace’s portrayal of Coronation Street legend Pat Phoenix in the 2010 TV film The Road to Coronation Street, which chronicled the origins of the rival ITV soap.

The light-hearted moment comes in the middle of a very dramatic week in Walford. Just days ago, fans were stunned when Zoe Slater reappeared in Walford. Zoe is Kat’s estranged daughter, and hasn’t been seen on screen for nearly 20 years.

Michelle Ryan has reprised her role as Zoe after the character was last seen leaving for Ibiza in 2005. Her return follows one of EastEnders’ most unforgettable storylines, as it was revealed that Kat became Zoe’s biological mother after she was assaulted by her uncle Harry at the age of 13.

When Zoe was last featured in the soap her time in Walford was packed with controversy, including a faked pregnancy, a twisted love triangle with Dennis Rickman, and her involvement in the death of Dirty Den, which she mistakenly believed she caused.

Now two decades later Zoe is back, but she’s going through a desperate time and is deep in debt after stealing Kat’s credit card.

The episode where she returned to Walford ended with Alfie Moon (Shane Richie), fresh from marrying Kat, coming face to face with his stepdaughter and saying: “Hello Zoe.”

Fans erupted online, with one exclaiming: “ZOE BLOODY SLATER #EastEnders.” Another wrote: “ZOE YOU CAN’T TELL ME WHAT TO DO YOU AIN’T MY MOTHER SLATER IS BACK! #eastenders.”

Michelle Ryan has spoken about her return to the soap, saying: “It all happened at the right time. I’d already been thinking about a return because I’d met up with Kacey Ainsworth (Little Mo) and Kim Medcalf (Sam Mitchell) and we were reminiscing our fond memories of the show, and I’d also joined social media and saw that there was still a lot of love for the character.

“It just so happened that at the same time, EastEnders had announced a new Exec who was keen to explore the potential of a return as he was such a massive fan of Zoe and the Slaters, so both of our worlds aligned at the right time, and I’m so excited to be back.

“When Ben pitched me the storylines, and when I read the scripts, I knew it was the right decision.”

Prince William gesture shows attraction to Kate Middleton

Last week, at Trooping the Colour, William seemed to be “smitten” and “deeply in love” with his wife.

According to OK! Magazine, body language expert, Dr Arthur Cassidy pinpointed the exact moment William let his emotions for Kate show.

Dr Cassidy claimed that the tightness of William’s lips, and his prolonged gaze on Kate were the tell-tale signs of his love.

They explained: “Prince William shows for a few milliseconds, a tight upper lip as he faces Princess Kate. This signifies his positive emotional state as he is deeply in love with his wife.”

As for how they could tell William was “attracted” to Kate in that moment, they explained it came down to the way his “mouth muscles” moved.

Dr Cassidy continued: “When physically attracted to your spouse, in this context Catherine, this produces an intense inner emotional reaction to Princess Catherine’s long-standing loving gaze. His lips became more relaxed.”

William ‘deeply in love’ with Kate

The comment comes as another expert analysed how William appeared to be “deeply in love” with his wife.

Body language expert, Darren Stanton analysed the couple’s interactions during the iconic Buckingham Palace balcony appearance.

He said: “There is a shot of Kate looking at William in his uniform during the parade, in almost a mischievous and smitten way. There is a great sense of pride coming from her in the photo.”

Darren also believed the couple took the opportunity to show the world “how strong” their connection is.

He explained: “Their bodies are turned towards one another, showing they’re matching and mirroring each other’s posture. There is also prolonged eye contact. Three to five seconds is typical, but this goes well beyond that. They are clearly in their own little bubble. And very much in love.”

According to Darren, it proved “they are stronger than ever”.

This Morning contributor Gyles Brandreth has been ridiculed on social media today for ‘not living in the real world’ after offering his views on attitudes to work.

Gyles appeared alongside fellow guest Kay Burley for Thursday’s episode of the ITV daytime series as they gave their take on what’s in the headlines.

But after co-host Cat Deeley brought up a survey of French workers has revealed widespread reluctance to assume managerial roles, Gyles seemed staggered by the very notion.

Cat explained that workers may wish to remain in the same role rather than be promoted in order to protect their work-life balance.

But Gyles responded: “I’m not sure about work-life balance.”

He went on: “I’ve always felt that work is life. And I like to feel I have a sense of purpose. So I like working.”

Joking about This Morning pay, he added: “That doesn’t necessarily mean working for money – I’m very happy here. But also hobbies and enthusiasms; doing things.”

Moments later, he pondered: “Is there a new generation that feels it shouldn’t take work too seriously? That they’ve got to take time out.”

And when co-host Ben Shephard countered with ‘nobody lays on their deathbed wishing they’d worked more’, Gyles disagreed.

“I will regret having not done the things I wanted to do,” he maintained. “I’m still hungry to things. And that’s having purpose, having interests.”

Gyles then pontificated: “We are of a generation where resilience, ambition, and work… we have found our reward in things.

“They’re not negative things. And my anxiety about this is people somehow feeling: ‘Actually, I’ve got to get the work-life balance right.’ As though there’s something more virtuous in sitting on a sofa doomscrolling rather than being out at work with other people.”

How viewers reacted

Many of those reacting on X to Gyles’ words interpreted them as suggesting ‘people don’t want to work’. And that was not received well on social media.

“Gyles thinks work life balance is not important as he loves his job and would work more,” one viewer wrote on Facebook. “Not everyone has his cushy well-paid jobs. People in stressful jobs or factories on minimum wages might not feel the same. He’s a bit blinkered.”

Another user responded: “Agree, they don’t live in the real world. Lots of people working 2/3 jobs just to make ends meet.”

Meanwhile, over on X, someone else fired back: “Gyles doesn’t know what work is, tbf  #ThisMorning.”

“Giles CAN’T compare his (so called work) to the jobs other people have #ThisMorning,” asserted someone else.

And yet another unhappy onlooker chipped in with: “It’s very rich of people to say others don’t want to work, when your job is to get paid to chat on TV. Hardly a hardworking skill is it? #ThisMorning.”

Reality TV star Yolanda Hadid was one of many stars sharing their love for Victoria and David Beckham amid the Spice Girl’s family tensions with eldest son, Brooklyn Beckham, and his wife Nicola Peltz.

In recent months, fans have noticed how Brooklyn snubbed his family during special events, including on Victoria’s birthday, David’s milestone 50th birthday and Father’s Day.

Last week, football icon David was knighted in the King’s Birthday Honours List, and most of his family, bar Brooklyn, took to social media to share how proud they were of his huge achievement. Victoria shared a loving snap of herself giving her husband David a smooch on the cheek.

She wrote in the caption: ” You’ve always been my knight in shining armour, but now it’s official. Sir @davidbeckham!!! What an honour, I couldn’t be prouder of you. Your dedication to the things that matter most — your country, your work, your passion, and most of all, your family — has never wavered.

Her friends were quick to share their support, including Gigi and Bella Hadid’s mother, Yolanda, who posted a red heart emoji in the comment section.

It has been said that Yolanda previously experienced tension with Nicola after she was romantically involved with her son, Anwar, for over a year.

The Sport’s Illustrated model reportedly took issue with the age gap between Nicola, who was 22 at the time, and Anwar, then 18. After they broke up, Nicola unfollowed the entire Hadid family on social media.

Nicola previously spoke fondly of Anwar, revealing in an old interview: “Honestly, he is an angel. He’s such an amazing person. He comes from such an amazing family. Gigi and Bella are so, so sweet. I just love his family so much. They’re feminine, strong girls. To have that around is amazing.”

Sources close to Nicola had insisted there wasn’t any bad blood between her and the Hadids and insisted unfollowing the family on social media was a typical move seen in breakups.

Meanwhile, after Victoria shared her gushing post for David, several other stars congratulated the footballer. Richard E Grant popped up to post many clapping emojis while Victoria’s son Romeo shared a heart emoji as well as his own post. Cruz, ever the loving son, also took to his own page to celebrate his dad.

Victoria’s best pal Eva Longoria lovingly posted: “Congrats David! And Lady Victoria!” while Gary Neville and Helena Christensen shared heart emojis.

Unfortunately, it hasn’t been all rainbows and sunshine for the Beckham family as Nicola’s family reportedly hit out at them for being tight with money.

Brooklyn, 26, is now residing in a lavish £11million mansion in Hollywood, but it’s believed that his billionaire heiress wife Nicola, 30, is the primary owner of the sprawling residential property.

Sources recently claimed that former footballer David and ex Spice Girl Victoria believe that their eldest son is “trapped” by the arrangement, as well as the rumoured pre-nuptial agreement that Brooklyn and Nicola signed before marrying one another. It’s estimated that Nicola’s dad, Nelson, has a net worth of a whopping $1.6 billion.

A source has claimed that David and Victoria have been “tight” when it comes to providing for their son, who has turned his hand at attempting several jobs, including being a photographer and also a chef.

“David and Victoria are two working-class kids done good, they have grafted hard for their money and understand that with privilege comes responsibility. On principle, they will not needlessly spoil their kids and have taught them the value of both industry and money,” a source claimed to The Sun.

The source then claimed Nelson and Nicola’s mum, Claudia, see their daughter as the apple of their eye. The source continued: “They expected the ­Beckhams, worth half a billion ­themselves, might match them penny for penny. Or, at least, chip in with financials as and when.

“That hasn’t always happened, so they are annoyed and telling people it’s a bit tight, which would utterly enrage David and Vic if they knew.” Another source disputed the claim regarding the Beckham’s and branded it “nonsense”.

After reports claimed Brooklyn could be “trapped”, a source close to Brooklyn slammed the ‘cruel and baseless narrative’. They said to The Mirror: “It’s disappointing—and frankly absurd—that anyone would try to twist Nicola and Brooklyn’s marriage, and this meaningful milestone of home ownership, into something toxic.

“Their relationship is grounded in love, respect, and commitment. The suggestion that Brooklyn is ‘trapped’ isn’t just false—it’s a deliberately cruel and baseless narrative aimed at undermining a strong, loving marriage.”

She is Martin’s eldest child

Martin Kemp was supported by fans after he revealed some exciting news about his daughter.

The TV star, 63, is a proud dad to two children, Roman, 32, and daughter Harley Moon, 35. Martin shares the kids with his wife Shirlie, 63.

And recently, Martin left fans delighted when he issued a “touching” announcement about his “baby girl” Harley.

On Tuesday (June 17) Martin took to his Instagram and shared a sweet photo of him and Harley Moon.

The former EastEnders actor could be seen kissing his daughter on the head, who beamed to the camera.

In the caption of the post, Martin shared his excitement at Harley Moon working with him on a photoshoot for his clothing brand, MJK.

He wrote: “My baby girl @harleymoonkemp shooting my next drop of MJK clothes…. She’s the best, l love you Har!!”

As expected, Martin’s followers were left swooning over the post and rushed to the comments section.

One person said: “That is so beautiful a true father that shows so much love don’t take for granted as some of us don’t have that. Harley and Roman you have the best parents in the world and love shines thru you are truly blessed.”

Someone else added: “Beautiful pic so much love.” A third chimed in: “Love this! Such a great photo of you and your beautiful daughter.”

Martin’s daughter Harley

Harley Moon – who usually stays out of the spotlight – has carved out a hugely successful career as a talented director and singer.

Earlier this year, she shared a video on Instagram of her parents’ reaction to a song she penned about them, called What Good Looks Like.

In the emotional video, the singer sat in the front seat of her car, while Martin and Shirley were in the back, as she played them her song.

In the caption, Harley penned: “Recorded the first time playing my parents the song I wrote about them ‘What good looks like’.”

She continued: “They really have shown me what real love is and made me so full of strength and happiness. I haven’t found that kinda love yet… but I know it’s out there.”
