Emmerdale’s Belle Dingle star ‘lets slip’ new romance with telling comment

Emmerdale’s Eden Taylor-Draper teased a potential new romance on the cards for her character Belle in the soap – as she’s free from controlling partner Tom King

Emmerdale star Eden Taylor-Draper has teased a potential new romance on the cards for her character Belle Dingle, after her marriage with abuser Tom King.

The star joined Ben Shephard and Cat Deeley on the This Morning sofa this morning, as she celebrates 20 years on the ITV soap. Of course, Ben and Cat couldn’t let her go without questioning what’s to come for the star.

Eden joined Emmerdale in 2005 to play the role of Belle Dingle, taking over the role from Emily Mather, who had previously portrayed the character. At the time, Eden was just eight years old.

The character Belle, however, first appeared on Emmerdale on December 25, 1998, when Lisa Dingle went into labour, unaware that she was pregnant.

Ever since, fans have followed Belle’s journey – most recently her harrowing abuse storyline with Tom King. She’s now free from her ex-husband, who is currently serving a three-year sentence. after he was found guilty of domestic abuse and coercive control.

With Tom out the way, Ben Shepard was eager to know whether we’d be seeing a new love interest for Belle, and although Belle wasn’t giving anything away – it seems like she could be hinting towards one.

“Life moves fast in soap land,” Ben said. “She’s no longer bound by this controlling partner, which means there must be love on the horizon for her at some point. Is there anything you can tell us about what’s going to be happening?”

Tom is facing prison for his control of Belle

Remaining coy, Eden said: “I’ve been in work recently, yesterday actually. I had a really fun day working with people, so yeah…. let’s see.” She was hesitant to give anymore away, but who could ‘people’ be, and could a new love interest be on the cards for Belle?

Elsewhere, soap expert Sharon Marshall asked whether Belle would be the one to take John Sugden down, as she’s currently looking after Cain Dingle. Responding, Eden said: “She is looking after Cain. The roles have reversed and she’s trying to get him on the straight and narrow. But it’s Cain, can she do it?”

As she celebrates 20 years on the soap, Eden gushed to the Mirror on how much her onscreen parents Jane Cox, who played her soap mum Lisa Dingle and the late actor Steve Halliwell, who played her dad Zak Dingle, had helped her in her career.

“I have so much credit to give to Jane and Steve who played Belle’s mum and dad because they were just brilliant and helped me in that environment,” says Eden.

“I’m surrounded by such talented people and it’s such an honour to be able to work with them. I’m always trying to learn, I’m always trying to better myself and be, you know, very natural and also be so in it.

Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7:30pm on ITV1 and ITVX, with an hour-long episode on Thursdays.

  • Proof disgraced James Argent joined Mark Wright on baby Palma’s first family holiday

Proof disgraced James Argent joined Mark Wright on baby Palma’s first family holiday

James was recently sentenced on domestic abuse charges

Former TOWIE star James ‘Arg’ Argent was spotted celebrating with Mark Wright and Michelle Keegan during their daughter Palma’s first family holiday.

Mark and Michelle welcomed their first child, daughter Palma Elizabeth Wright, on March 6. They have since remained in the headlines as they navigate being first-time parents.

James, 37, on the other hand, made front-page news last month after it was reported that he pushed his ex-girlfriend Nicoline Artursson down a flight of stairs in Spain. She was left hospitalised.

As a result, James was given a six-month suspended sentence and a two-year restraining order to stop him seeing or contacting Nicoline.

Mark Wright will ‘continue to see’ James Argent ‘privately’

Earlier this month, Michelle, 38, and Mark, 38, took time out from work to celebrate Michelle’s 38th birthday in Marbella, where the pair were captured taking baby Palma to dinner with them.

The married couple were joined by Mark’s parents, Carol, 64, and Mark Snr, 68, brother Josh, 35, and sisters Jess, 39, and Natalya, 24. They stayed at the five-star Sotogrande Spa & Golf Resort Hotel in Andalusia.

Various photos from the trip were shared by the family on social media. And Mark’s best friend of 15 years, Arg – who seemingly didn’t pose in any snapshots – was awkwardly spotted in the background of Natalya’s TikTok post as the family enjoyed some pool time.

Despite recent events surrounding the shamed reality star, Mark Wright seemingly hasn’t cut ties and has reportedly been Arg’s rock.

“Mark has been a shoulder to lean on behind the scenes. But he won’t be seen publicly with Arg, as his wholesome image is important to him. However, he’ll continue to see Arg privately – like on this holiday,” an inside source alleged to Closer.

Michelle, however, was reportedly not pleased with James joining them. “It’s hard for Michelle. She’s so nice, she’d have felt really awkward with him there but she would never say anything to Arg’s face. She would have felt shocked at the idea of him joining them on their holiday,” the source continued.

They claimed that “behind closed doors”, it would have “caused tension between her and Mark”.

Mark and Michelle ‘not seeing eye-to-eye over Arg’

The reports surfaced shortly after allegations that Michelle Keegan had asked husband Mark to “distance himself” from Arg.

“Mark and Michelle are not seeing eye-to-eye over Arg. She’s told Mark that she has zero tolerance when it comes to domestic abuse, and she’s given him an ultimatum that as a dad to their daughter, he needs to set a good example,” a source previously claimed.

That said, the Wright family has “all been supporting” Arg behind the scenes, with Carol Wright commenting on one of James’ recent posts on Instagram. The source added that Arg has “always been like another member of the family, and Mark has told Michelle that he still is”.

ED! has contacted Mark and Michelle’s reps for comment.

Brooklyn Beckham paid tribute to his socialite wife Nicola Peltz’s dad, Nelson, on his birthday with a short and sweet message on social media. The hot sauce enthusiast has been embroiled in a family feud with the Beckham family and has been snubbing recent important family events.

Fans noticed how the former aspiring photographer snubbed mum Victoria on her 51st birthday and was nowhere to be seen for his dad David’s milestone 50th birthday celebrations in London and Paris. The star also failed to publicly congratulate the football icon when he was knighted in the King’s Birthday Honours List this month.

While snubbing his family, the 26-year-old has been sharing endless gushing tributes to his wife, with him recently saying he would ‘always choose her’.

On her dad’s birthday, he took to his Instagram Stories to share a picture of Nelson, him and his wife posing for the camera as he wished him a happy birthday.

“Happy birthday, Nelson, we love you,” he simply wrote. Meanwhile, Brooklyn and Nicola recently marked a milestone as they celebrated five years since they got engaged.

Brooklyn had posted a tribute to his wife. Alongside a snap of them, he wrote: “It’s been 5 years since I asked this beautiful woman to marry me xx best decision ever x I love you so much.”

Nicola also shared a sweet picture of the two kissing and wrote a tribute to Brooklyn, posting: “5 years ago we got engaged …i love living life with you baby – i loveee you so muchhh.

Brooklyn’s post came under fire from some fans – who urged Brooklyn to repair his feud with his parents. Whilst some of the comments were negative, others celebrated their love with them.

A source close to the couple told The Mirror: “For every unkind comment, there are just as many full of love, but people so often choose to dwell on the negative. Brooklyn and Nicola are solid, and the idea that a heartfelt anniversary post warrants this level of scrutiny is frankly a bit ridiculous.

“It’s disheartening to see so much energy spent trying to tear down a young couple simply enjoying their lives together. They want no part in the public’s narrative.”

Nicola and Brooklyn have been locked in a feud with David and Victoria for months. Brooklyn and Nicola’s recent purchase of a £10.5 million mansion in Los Angeles has reportedly left his mum heartbroken.

According to an insider, there were hopes his life in America wouldn’t be “permanent”, but “this house purchase quashes any last hopes.” However, another source has told the Mirror : “This house has nothing to do with family dynamics.

“Both Nicola and Brooklyn’s careers are based in Los Angeles, and Brooklyn spent part of his childhood there while his father played for LA Galaxy. During that time, he attended school in LA for several years and built a life and friendships in the city. LA has always felt like home to him.”

Scarlette Douglas teams up with brother and Worst House on the Street co-star Stuart in Can’t Sell, Must Sell. But she was rattled by a jaw-dropping discovery while filming.

Property development duo Scarlette and Stuart Douglas advise homeowners in unsellable houses in their newest show, Can’t Sell, Must Sell . But one discovery left Scarlette reeling.

Known for their teamwork on Channel 4’s Worst House On The Street, Scarlette Douglas, 38, and her brother Stuart, 47, are now taking on a new challenge – splitting up to help desperate sellers fix up homes that just won’t budge on the market.

In each of the six episodes, the siblings are both handed a property that requires major renovation. With the help of a skilled team of carpenters and designers, they work to make each house as sellable as possible.

Scarlette still remembers a chilling discovery made while filming. She says, “One lady was very attached to her house and its Victorian style – she has lots of dolls.

When you walked in, everything felt oppressive. It was dark, dingy and scary. Even her daughters were trying to get her to sell it. She didn’t want to listen.”

Scarlette Douglas reveals that bad odours can ruin a property listing

Another tough case for Scarlette involved a charming cottage – with dog odour. “I love dogs, but you can become nose-blind to them. “One of the properties was a really beautiful cottage but the minute you walked in, it smelled of dog,” she says.

“They were so used to the smell that they couldn’t get their head around it. Those are things you’re not going to see but they affect a sale.”

Although the smell was pungent, Stuart found himself particularly moved by the property’s backstory. He remembers, “What made it important for me was how important it was for the owner. She was a really lovely lady. The transformation of the house itself was amazing but the transformation in her was memorable. She was so grateful.”

Emotions ran high elsewhere, too. One case that hit Scarlette hard took place in Swansea, where they met a widow who had filled her home with china plates and memories. “Her husband did the DIY. She couldn’t do anything around the house,” Scarlette says. “She was so grateful at the end, I was an emotional wreck.”

While houses and empathy are at the heart of the show, the hard graft is just as real. “We’re not just walking in, saying our piece and walking out,” Scarlette says, “We really do get involved, even off-camera.”

Stuart agrees, “We had great teams,” he says, “But we needed lots of hands on deck to complete the transformations. Even the cameraman took things to the skip. Everyone chipped in.”

That level of involvement was essential, given the scale of the jobs – and the tight turnaround. “It was hard and stressful,” Scarlette says, “We started around 8am and wouldn’t finish until about 11pm. We cover two houses in a week, but the end result made it all worth it.”

But it wouldn’t be a Douglas project without a bit of healthy rivalry. “We are competitive in nature,” says Stuart, “Scarlette was a professional dancer in the West End, our brother and I played professional football. We are very close, but we’re very competitive.”

He adds, “The real goal was to help the homeowners, though we both still wanted to have the best house. In our family, we go into things and we do it to be the best.”

Coronation Street fans ‘work out’ what Nina and Summer saw in ‘terrible’ twist

Coronation Street fans are convinced they have worked out why Nina Lucas and Summer Spellman were screaming and crying in horror after witnessing something while high on LSD

There was a worrying Coronation Street twist on Monday night, but what did Nina and Summer see that left them so terrified?

Characters Nina Lucas and Summer Spellman were both high on LSD when they witnessed something shocking. Whatever it was left them screaming and crying, hiding out in Roy Cropper’s café.

The character has been seen joking around and a little out of it after taking LSD at a house party. But suddenly the mood switched, and we saw the girls fleeing and shouting out.

Something shocked them and left them panicked, as they questioned what to do next. It’s clear that whatever they witnessed or did was really bad, and involved someone else.

As the girls screeched and sobbed, shaking with terror, Nina said they needed “to go back”. Summer was adamant though they had to hide it out, refusing to return to the scene they had just left.

A petrified Nina told her: “You saw what happened,” knowing they had to do something. But Summer told her: “We can’t! Listen to me, I don’t know what…” before she pointed outside.

She added: “We 100 percent cannot go back.” In that moment Nina completely broke down, screaming: “Oh God,” repeatedly before bursting into tears.

Summer was also shocked and emotional, hugging Nina to comfort her. It’s clear the girls have witnessed something scary and bad, but what has happened? Ahead of scenes revealing all, fans think they have rumbled the truth.

Some viewers think this could be the exit storyline of Aadi Alahan who is soon leaving the show. While fans did see him with Lauren Bolton back at the house after Lauren had fled, some fans wondered if he left again and may have been killed.

One theory is that the girls attacked someone as other fans wondered if they witnessed an attack by another person. A further theory suggested it was something to do with Kit Green or his mother Bernie Winter.

Taking to social media, one fan shared: “Aadi probably because he’s leaving the show.” Another said: “I think Summer and Nina find Aadi dead. I think he’s supposed to be leaving not sure as not seen it yet.”

A third viewer posted: “I mentioned this on another post saying I hope it’s not Aadi. I know he’s leaving but was hoping they left the door open for him.” A further comment suggested: “Maybe something to do with Kit.”

One fan reckoned: “I think it’s got something to do with Bernie, I could be way of the mark maybe she’s injured and someone hurt her.” Another theory said: “I think maybe something happened Dylan.” As for what actually happened, there were many guesses.

A tweet read: “I reckon that they saw someone get beaten up but more shocked of who it is! Under influence of LSD, unable to do anything!” Another post read: “Think they may have attacked someone.”

One more posted: “It ended Nina and summer done something terrible.” A final comment read: “I think something happened from them leaving the party to getting to Roy’s but what I don’t know. They wouldn’t react like that walking down the road something has to have happened.”

Stacey Solomon’s parenting hacks from ‘free day out’ to entertaining at home for less than £5

When it comes to saving money during the school holidays, most parents would appreciate a little help and TV personality and mummy influencer Stacey Solomon has a few unusual ideas that are worth a try

    Joe Swash and Stacey Solomon
Joe Swash and Stacey Solomon have six children between them

She may have first caught our attention with her singing abilities on the X Factor, but it would seem Stacey Solomon knows a thing or two about parenting. Stacey was a teenager when she had her eldest son Zachary, now 17, and went on to have Leighton who is 12, then Rex, 5, Rose, 3, and one-year-old Belle with husband Joe Swash, 43.

And the former Loose Women panellist who now presents Sort Your Life Out on BBC One is also step-mum to Joe’s 17-year-old son, Harry. While the couple aren’t short of a bob or two – they are reported to have a combined net worth of just less than £9m – they do love a great hack. They recently revealed that they sometimes take all of their bumper brood to other kids’ birthday parties so “they don’t get invited again.”

The mum revealed she gets away with the sneaky party hack by asking parents if siblings are allowed, without telling them there will be four siblings coming along. “It’s a free day out and they all get lunch,” Stacey added. “If the parent says yes I’m like ‘Bam! It’s party time’,” Stacey laughed.

Stacey also recently shared a brilliant way to keep kids entertained during the school holidays and it costs next to nothing. All you need is just two ingredients – plain flour and coconut oil – and if you don’t have them in the house already they’ll cost you about a fiver.

In a clip uploaded to Instagram, Stacey posted a video of herself making ‘homemade play sand’ with the help of her kids, Rex, 4, Rose 2, and one-year-old Belle. “Making our own sand with flour and coconut is better than ordering sand and ending up with a Ton of it like I did a few years ago,” Stacey wrote.

Stacey has also shared how she keeps things tidy – something most parents find more difficult during the school holidays when the kids are at home – by dedicating 15-20 minutes each day to tidying up.

Meanwhile, the Sort Your Life Out presenter uses baking soda for a variety of cleaning tasks and revealed a clever trick for eliminating stubborn sealant mould in a recent episode.

Cleaning expert Iwan Carrington, who works with Stacey on the show, headed to the bathroom to share a “really easy” mould removal hack. Pointing out the mould growth on the sealant by the bath, Iwan said: “All you need to do is get some neat bleach and then just run a line of it along that sealant.”

To hold the cleaning product in place, the expert covered the area with cotton wool balls. He continued: “We are going to leave this overnight, and by the morning they’ve had a nice little party together and it’s all going to be back to lovely and white.”

Over the years, Melanie Sykes has opened up about the health battles she’s been facing behind the scenes. In a new update shared with her fans, the 54 year old took to social media to reveal she’d been experiencing “alopecia and heart issues” over recent months as she detailed what’d been going on away from the spotlight.

This isn’t the first time that Melanie has bravely shone a light on her health issues. In November 2021, The Big Breakfast star described the “life-affirming” moment she received an autism diagnosis at the age of 51 as she recalled how the diagnosis had allowed her to make sense of her life.

    Melanie Sykes

“This week has been truly life-changing. Or rather, life affirming. As many of you may or may not know, I was diagnosed with autism late Thursday afternoon. And then, finally, so many things made sense,” she wrote in a social media post.

The TV star continued: “I cannot begin to tell you the sense of relief this is for me and how much I celebrate this diagnosis. I now have a deeper understanding of myself, my life, and the things I have endured.”

Further opening up about her diagnosis on Loose Women, the mum-of-two revealed how she’d been working on a documentary with Harry Thompson, who is autistic, about the failures of the education system when he began to suspect that she might be autistic or have ADHD.

“Ten minutes in he thought I might have an ADHD profile, and autistic profile because of how I was,” she explained. “I know now what makes me autistic and it’s the fabric of me… and I think I’m fantastic!”

“I’m here for everyone who’s autistic,” she said. “It’s a good thing, because it’s not a disorder… it’s the things that we can do!”

With her diagnosis coming during adulthood, the TV presenter was then asked whether she’d have done anything differently had her diagnosis come sooner. “I would have asked for more of what I needed… there was a lot of sensitivities that I would have dealt with,” she replied.

Two years later, in 2023, the former radio presenter released her memoir Illuminated: Autism & All The Things I’ve Left Unsaid which detailed her story of getting her autism and ADHD diagnoses and aimed to raise awareness of the conditions.

“My diagnosis made me realise just who I actually am and what I’ve been hiding, because it hasn’t been required of me. It’s not even been asked of me. Can you imagine being in broadcasting, but people don’t really want to know the true you?,” she told the Chris Evans Breakfast Show.

“You become a certain way due to exterior forces. And I no longer do that. I am the force. I am my own force and I will operate in every which way I choose. I just had to remove myself from industries that don’t take care of you.”

In a new update, Melanie revealed that she has been experiencing alopecia and heart issues. In an Instagram post, the TV personality shared a snap in which she pointed out a bald spot on her head and explained how she’d taken the photo while she was in London investigating “some health issues”.

She wrote: “I am experiencing alopecia and heart issues due to all that has happened over the last few months. PTSD, shock, mistreatment and malpractice,” before encouraging fans to watch a YouTube video she’d uploaded on the topic.

In the 30-minute-long YouTube video, Melanie detailed her health struggles and parted sections of her hair to reveal her hair loss, noting how she’d also been struggling with stress and insomnia. The star explained how she developed a heart problem amid the allegations against her former colleague Gino D’Acampo.

Gino was accused of allegations of inappropriate and intimidating behaviour over a 12-year period, which he has vehemently denied. In February, ITV News said they had spoken to “over 40 people” in an investigation into the TV chef’s alleged behaviour.

Melanie worked with the chef on ITV’s Let’s Do Lunch with Gino and Mel from 2011 to 2014 and opened up about her experiences with “misogyny” in the TV industry. “I’m experiencing alopecia in quite a significant way. I’ve lost inches off my hairline at the back and probably got half my hair at the moment,” she said in the video. After detailing how she felt like she’d been dismissed by several cardiologists because of her autism and ADHD, Melanie eventually found a specialist who took her seriously.

“I’m having a heart monitor sent to the house and I have got to wear it for two days to monitor the sound of it,” she revealed.

The Great British Bake Off judge appeared on Monday’s (April 14) edition of the hit ITV daytime show, where she spoke about her new cooking series, Prue Leith’s Cotswolds Kitchen.

The programme follows Prue as she cooks some of her all-time favourite dishes in her own kitchen in the Cotswolds.

She is joined by a variety of celebrity guests throughout the episodes, as well as her husband, John Playfair – who she married in 2016.

Addressing John’s cameo on the new show, Loose Women panellist Coleen Nolan said: “What’s this I hear about your husband stealing your thunder a bit.”

Prue bluntly responded: “I’m seriously p***ed off,” which immediately elicited laughs from the studio audience.

Quickly realising that she had made a blunder, Prue then said: “Sorry, I’m sorry.”

“I do have to apologise for that slightly fruity language from our Dame, just in case anybody was offended,” Ruth interjected, as Prue continued to apologise.

Speaking about her husband’s appearance on her show, Prue said: “Honestly, the fact is he is such a charmer. I only let him onto the show because it’s his house and if we’re going to have a crew there for two weeks and the whole house taken over, it’s going to be a bit unfair.

“So, I thought if he was involved he wouldn’t mind all the cables and clutter and so on. Well, that was a mistake.”

The TV cook then explained that John has now started getting recognised in public, with several fans sharing their admiration for him in the supermarket.

“The best thing he does [on the show] is he goes off to find food heroes,” Prue added.

The second season of Prue Leith’s Cotswolds Kitchen returned to ITV last month, and features more snippets of the star’s secluded home life, as well as some star-studded guests.

ITV Benidorm stars break silence on show return seven years after final episode

Actors Hannah Hobley and Oliver Stokes addressed the future of ITV’s Benidorm during a joint interview on Loose Women

Loose Women was back on TV screens with a new episode on Wednesday (16 April), fronted by Charlene White, who was joined by Denise Welch, Janet Street Porter and Mariella Frostrup on the panel.

The four panellists welcomed actors Hannah Hobley and Oliver Stokes to the show for a joint interview. The two stars are famed for appearing in hit ITV comedy Benidorm, in which they portrayed siblings Chantelle Garvey and Michael Garvey.

During the discussion, Hannah and Oliver looked back at their time on the ITV series and also revealed what they’d each been up to since Benidrom came off air in 2018.

The Loose Women also made sure to quiz the two actors about the show making a comeback after seven years, following many rumours of a return.

Hannah began by saying the show had received so much “love and support” over the rumours, adding: “At the moment, they are just rumours.”

The studio audience broke out into a chorus of disappointed sighs, with Charlene then revealing she had a statement from ITV regarding the return of Benidorm in the future.

“ITV say, ‘We’ve spoken to one of our sources over here and there’s nothing commissioned yet, but we’ll keep our fingers crossed’,” she announced, giving everyone some hope.

Elsewhere in the interview, Oliver, 26, spoke fondly of his time playing Michael on Benidorm. He was just eight years old when he cast in the role, and explained how he would spend around three months at a time in Benidorm filming, with a tutor coming to do school work with him for up to five hours per day.

He took a step back from the spotlight after appearing in Benidorm, and told the Loose Women that he’d been focusing on being a father to his son Archie.

Meanwhile, Hannah, 36, admitted that starring in Benidorm still “feels like yesterday” and she is reguarly caught off guard by the ITV series being shown on television despite ending seven years ago.

She has gone on to carve out a career in theatre, while also becoming a mum in 2022 to daughter Beatrice Hobley-Smith.

Benidorm, created by Derren Litten, aired for ten series from 2007 until 2018. The show focuses on an all-inclusive hotel in Spain where the same family holiday each year.

Benidorm featured the likes of Johnny Vegas, Tim Healy, Steve Pemberton and Siobhan Finneran.
