Noel and Liam Gallagher spark fury from Oasis crew with ‘money pinching’ decision

Oasis have been accused of being so ‘about the money’ that even their hard-working crew haven’t been given any free tickets to their upcoming reunion tour

Rock star brothers Noel and Liam Gallagher have reportedly refused to give out free tickets to their upcoming reunion tour gigs to their team working behind the scenes.

Friends and family gig tickets are usually handed out to the hard-working crew, who will be away for months while Oasis tour the UK, before playing a string of global dates around the world. It’s standard in the industry and seen as a perk of the job.

But the band – who are set to net as much as £600 million from the tour, including £50 million each for Noel and Liam – have been accused of being ‘all about the money’ – and even close pals and industry colleagues are said to have been left without a free ticket.

Instead, they are said to have been sent a link to a special website with a code to access a ticket. Though they bypassed the queue, they were still expected to pay the basic face value, which was at least £148 a pop. The stingy move is said to have left crew members, many of whom have worked with huge artists over the years, ‘fuming’. One source reportedly said ‘they’ve never seen anything like it.’

Liam Gallagher (left) and Noel Gallagher.
Oasis are back together and will tour for the first time in 16 years (Image: PA)

The source told the Mail: “The crew will be travelling around the country with the band, setting up the venues, and will be on hand throughout the concerts in case they are needed. They’ll be away from their family and are usually given tickets to invite them down to join them at one of the shows.

“But the Gallagher brothers have banned any free tickets being given out. The crew are all fuming. Many of them have toured with other big-name artists and have never known anything like it. All Oasis seem to care about is making as much money as they can. Is this about fans, or is the truth that it’s all about the money?”

Revealing ‘a lot of industry people are pretty stunned’, the source continued: “These are people who’ve known the band for years in some cases, or worked in and around them directly, and they’ve never seen anything like it. Oasis are making millions and they’re acting like they can’t spare a few tickets for those who have been very, very good to them. Rinsing everyone for every last penny doesn’t feel very rock and roll. It’s certainly not like the Nineties.”

Some fans ended up paying way over the odds for Oasis tickets due to a ‘dynamic pricing’ model in place on the Ticketmaster website – which the band later claimed they knew nothing about.

In some cases a standard seat costing £148 more than doubled to £355 by the time they got to the checkout – and VIP packages were being sold for upwards of £500.

Dynamic pricing raises the prices of the most in demand tickets, but Ticketmaster later claimed they didn’t use such a system and Oasis said in a statement they ‘leave decisions on ticketing and pricing entirely to their promoters and management’.

As well as the ticket prices, it’s been reported the band have negotiated an ‘almost unprecedented’ deal to get a 30 per cent cut of profit from venues. This includes drinks, food and merchandise.

Oasis’ clothing deal with Adidas is also set to net the band a tidy profit, with jackets being sold for £100 and T-shirts at £55. Items have already sold out online and they are set to be sold at gigs to fans too.

One insider claimed ‘if they could could monetise breathing the air in the stadium, they probably would.’ The Mirror has approached reps for Oasis for further comment on this story.

Kate Middleton shares adorable Prince William birthday photo with new puppies

Prince William is celebrating his 43rd birthday today – and the Princess of Wales has taken to social media to mark the day by sharing an adorable picture of him with the family dog Orla

The Princess of Wales has shared an adorable new photo to mark husband Prince William’s birthday.

The Prince of Wales turns 43 today and to celebrate, the official Kensington Royal account posted a picture of him posing with the family dog Orla – and her new puppies.

The black cocker spaniel – gifted to the family by Kate’s brother James Middleton in 2020 – recently gave birth to four puppies. The photo of William, Orla and her brood was taken by the Princess in Windsor earlier this month.

The caption reads: “Happy birthday! Love C, G, C, L, Orla and the puppies!”

King Charles and Queen Camilla have also wished William a happy birthday. The couple posted a photo on their official Instagram page that shows him smiling widely while sat on a rock wall.

It is not known exactly how the heir to the throne is celebrating today. Bu he will surely be swapping any work matters for precious family time with the Princess of Wales and their children. A year ago, William was in a very different place, as wife Kate was still undergoing chemotherapy treatment after her cancer diagnosis. At the same time, his father the King has also been diagnosed with the disease.

King Charles and Queen Camilla have shared their well wishes
King Charles and Queen Camilla have also shared their well wishes on William’s birthday
Not only was he on hand to support them both, but he also proved to be a rock for his three children Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.

He memorably described 2024 as “brutal” and significantly one of the “hardest of his life”. But with Kate now in remission, things look different 12 months on as he turns a year older, focus shifts slightly to duty.

In the past week, not only has he been at Trooping and Garter Day but also Royal Ascot and carried out a visit alongside actress Cate Blanchett to Colorifix – a Norwich-based company which creates sustainable dye for clothing, and is one of his Earthshot Prize finalists.

And former BBC royal correspondent Jennie Bond tells the Mirror that William is “extremely serious” when it comes to the job that his life has given him.

She explained: “As he himself has said, if he can’t make some kind of difference, some kind of impact on issues he cares so deeply about – then what is the point of being a prince or of having such a high profile platform?

“So, now that the crisis of the past 18 months has eased, he seems to be working pretty much flat out for much of the time, and I’m sure that will continue.” But despite his work and duty, there is one thing that always comes first for William as well as wife Kate – family.

William is a very hands-on parent, doing the school run and ferrying the kids to their various after-school sports clubs and activities. Putting family first was no more so evident than at Easter earlier this year when he and his family skipped the traditional Easter Sunday church service with the King and Queen at Windsor to spend precious family time together – all with the King’s blessing.

And even if his schedule may seem busier, Jennie believes this family time is something William will always make a priority. She said: “These years are a period when, without the never-ending state duties of a monarch, he can be allowed to concentrate rather more fully on his wife and children. So I think school holidays will continue to be ring-fenced as much as possible, even if he is criticised for doing so.

“You just have to look at the pictures of William and his children released for Father’s Day to see how much they adore him and how close they are as a family. This tall, handsome, smiling man is their dad and their protector. And William would never want to put that in any jeopardy.”

Prince William tipped to hand key role ‘he’s not comfortable with’ to Zara Tindall

Prince William is already said to be mulling over big decisions about changes he will make when he becomes King, with Zara Tindall tipped to be given an important job that has never be an real interest for William

Prince William is already said to be mulling over big decisions about how he will revolutionise and modernise the royal family when he becomes King, including which members of the Firm will be handed important roles. While many senior working royals are expected to take a step back from their royal duties in the coming years as they get older, William is said to already be scouting who would be a good fit for certain royal responsibilities.

According to one insider, who has a close relationship with William and the royal family at large, he has already selected one royal to take over a role he had “never felt comfortable with” when he ascends to the throne.

A well-placed royal source revealed that one job William is keen to delegate when he becomes King is the racing responsibilities, and could hand them off to his cousin Zara Tindall.

William doesn’t share the same love of horse racing held by King Charles and Queen Camilla, with the family’s passion for horses and racing stemming back to the late Queen Elizabeth.

Zara, a former Olympian equestrian like her mother Princess Anne, may take up the reins of the royal racing calendar, given that it is a role Prince William has “never felt comfortable with”. The royal source told The Times : “I never get the feeling the whole top hat and racing is really his thing, and he’s said as much. He’s never really seemed comfortable doing it.”

A source close to William added that “he understands how important Ascot is, not just to the racing community but to UK plc”, but will not be as hands on with Royal Ascot and the royal stud at Sandringham as monarchs have been in the past.

Despite not being a big racing fan, William attended the second day of Royal Ascot last week, riding in the carriage solo after Princess Kate pulled out of attending at the last minute.

William also rode on horseback during Trooping the Colour, in order to honour his father on the day of his official birthday celebrations. While Zara is tipped to hold a more major royal role when William becomes King, other non-working royal family members have also said to have been put forward to have a more senior capacity when he ascends the throne.

Zara’s husband Mike, Zara’s brother Peter Phillips and the York sisters, Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie, are all expected to step up when William becomes King, it has been reported. While none of them are currently working royals, they have been spotted supporting William and other senior members of the royal family at various events over the last year.

With the Duke of Kent, the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester, and the Princess Royal all expected to scale back their royal duties in the coming years as they get older, William is also expected to lean on Prince Edward and Duchess Sophie as senior royals, while he decides which members of his family he will ask to step into more prominent roles.

  • Surprising ‘banned’ ingredients in Royal Family kitchens – and why garlic was off the menu

Surprising ‘banned’ ingredients in Royal Family kitchens – and why garlic was off the menu

Former royal chef Darren McGrady – who cooked for the likes of Queen Elizabeth II, Princess Diana and Prince William – has revealed which ingredients were often ‘banned’ from the kitchen for certain family members

    Queen Elizabeth II
Queen Elizabeth II had one particular food she banned from her meals

They may dine on golden platters with silver cutlery, but when it comes to what actually went into the food at Buckingham Palace, there were some surprising red lines set by senior members of the Royal Family.

According to a former royal chef who spent over a decade cooking for the late Queen Elizabeth II and her family, Her Majesty had very particular culinary preferences – and strong-smelling ingredients didn’t make the cut.

“The Queen didn’t like garlic or strong onions, viewing them as antisocial,” former royal chef Darren McGrady told Heart Bingo. “So we didn’t use garlic in her meals.” It wasn’t a hard-and-fast royal law, but it might as well have been. That meant classics like garlic bread or spiced curries were off the menu — at least for the Queen.

    Darren McGrady
Darren McGrady cooked for the Royal Family for over a decade

But not everyone agreed with her tastes. “Prince Philip, however, loved garlic and would have it at his dinner parties,” the chef added, hinting at a more flavourful divide in royal dinner preferences.

The Queen may have ruled over an empire, but her taste buds were famously down-to-earth. “She was very frugal, likely due to her wartime upbringing,” the chef said.

Lobster, foie gras and caviar were reserved for state banquets only. On regular days, the monarch was more than happy with comfort food. “We cooked meals like cottage pie.”

Breakfast was also surprisingly basic. “The Queen’s breakfast was at 9am, served in her room. She’d help herself to cereal from a Tupperware container – especially Special K – even though there were 20 chefs available to cook anything,” the chef recalled.

That same restraint didn’t apply to her sweet tooth.

“She loved dark chocolate, especially anything over 60 percent cocoa. Any dessert with chocolate on the menu was sure to be chosen,” the chef shared.

Her birthday cake was a rich chocolate ganache recipe passed down from Queen Victoria’s chef. Prince William, it seems, inherited the craving.

    Queen Elizabeth II
The late Queen was especially fond of ‘comfort food’(Image: Getty Images)

“When I worked for the Queen, William loved dark chocolate and asked for chocolate ice cream.”

While the Queen avoided garlic, she didn’t shy away from other ingredients people wrongly assume were forbidden.

“The idea that the Queen didn’t eat seafood while traveling isn’t true – we regularly cooked scallops and shrimp for her,” the chef said.

“The idea that the Queen didn’t eat seafood while traveling isn’t true – we regularly cooked scallops and shrimp for her,” the chef said.

“During my 11 years with the Queen, we didn’t have a single vegetarian, gluten-free, or lactose-intolerant guest,” the chef said. “If you dined with the Queen, you ate what the Queen ate. If you didn’t like it, you’d stop for a McDonald’s on the way home.”

And yes, even royals sometimes did stop for fast food. Princess Diana once cancelled lunch plans for young William and Harry, saying: “I’m taking them out.”

When asked where, she replied: “McDonald’s.” The chef protested: “I can do burgers better than McDonald’s,” to which Diana quipped, “I know that Darren, but they want the toys in the Happy Meal.”

Peter Andre paid tribute to his daughter Princess with a gushing post on social media to celebrate her 18th birthday. Taking to Instagram, it was clear the Mysterious Girl singer, 52, was choking on his words as he ended his heartfelt message with a sad warning, as he told her to be “careful” in this “crazy world.”

Princess is the daughter of glamour model Katie Price and Peter and the former couple also share a son named Junior Andre.

Peter wrote: “Not enough words. So much love. My little girl is no longer a little girl. Keep being you. Kind, funny, sensitive, considerate and a bit bonkers….. oh, and a diva.”

He added: “But a diva full of heart. I know I tell you everyday but I’ll say it again. I love you so much.”

The singer continued: “Happy 18th beautiful and please stay happy. But be careful in this crazy world. Im always here. Always. Dad @princess_andre.”

During an interview with Notebook magazine ahead of her milestone birthday, Princess revealed that she was not planning a raucous party to celebrate as she is not a big drinker.

She said: “I’m not really a big drinker or a big party-goer, but it’ll be nice to be able to go to pubs and stuff with my friends.”

She added: “I’m not the sort of person who’d embarrass myself. I’ll never put myself in a position that would make me look bad.”

While it was clear to fans that Peter was struggling to come to terms with his daughter becoming an adult, it seems Princess is also aware too.

In her chat, she went on to say: “He’s so proud and so supportive, but I think it’s hard to see your kid get older.”

Princess was treated to a brand new car to celebrate her birthday and passing her driving test.

But when she took him out in the car for the first time, it seems the experience was too emotional for him to handle.

Princess said: “He was the first person I took for a drive in the new car. We were listening to music and suddenly I heard him sobbing. ‘I was like, ‘Are you OK?’ And he admitted it was weird for him to see me grow up.”

Unfortunately for the aspiring singer who plans to follow in her father’s footsteps, her birthday was marred with a bit of upset following her recent split from her boyfriend.

Speaking about the break-up she said: “I’m feeling good. I’ve always kept my personal life personal, so I don’t talk too much about it, but now is the time to focus on me.”

Their wedding has been the talk of the town for months as fans eagerly awaited the lavish ceremony of Amazon mogul Jeff Bezos and his wife Lauren Sanchez. And the couple did not fail to disappoint.

The couple took three days out of their busy schedule to celebrate their wedding, which is believed to have cost close to £40million.

The last day of their wedding party, fans were greeted by Lauren, who now goes by the name of Mrs Bezos, in a flattering pink dress which was embellished with jewels. Both Lauren and Jeff were seen waving to the crowd that gathered outside their Aman Venice Hotel as they stepped into a boat to take them to a secret location to continue their party, surrounded by the elite of Hollywood.

With her hair gently draped around her shoulders, Lauren looked the picture of happiness as she stood close to her new husband.

Meanwhile, Jeff was seen dressed in all black. The businessman, 61, who is the third richest man in the world with an estimated worth of £177billion. was pictured in a black shirt teamed with a matching suit.

He completed his look with a pair of sunglasses as they made their way along the Venice canal. The happy couple shared a kiss which sent fans wild, sealing their three day nuptials.

Guests included Oprah Winfrey, who looked stunning in a burnt orange outfit that came complete with feathered sleeves. With a fan in hand to stave off the Venice heat, the TV star who is also believed to be a billionaire, waved to fans as she jumped into the awaiting water taxi to take her to the party venue.

Other guests included Kendall and Kylie Jenner, Kim and Khloe Kardashian and Hollywood star Leonardo DiCaprio, who were also pictured making their way to the old shipyard, the Arsenale.

Kim was seen dressed to impress in a shimmering black fitted dress that showed off all her curves, while Khloe cut a more demure appearance in a flattering pink outfit.

According to reports, the invited guests amounted to 200 people and Sir Elton John and Lady Gaga were among the performers of the night.

And while the happy couple and their guests enjoyed the celebrations which went without a hitch, it seems not everybody was pleased that the retail giant had booked out the entire Italian city.

An estimated 700 demonstrators gathered together at Santa Lucia train station armed with banners that read “If you can rent Venice for your wedding, you can pay more tax.”

The demonstration is believed to have been organised by the No Space For Bezos group. A few members of the group were seen laden with Amazon boxes that had the words “ordered, shipped, delivered, rejected” written on them.

But this did not seem to change the happy course of the couple as they continued to enjoy their day despite the interruptions.

This is reportedly the second marriage for both Jeff and Lauren and between them, they have seven children.

  • ‘I was stuck in Glastonbury mosh pit with death chants and fake blood – it was a cess-pit’

‘I was stuck in Glastonbury mosh pit with death chants and fake blood – it was a cess-pit’

The Mirror’s Tom Bryant found himself in the middle of the chaos at Bob Vylan and Kneecap’s very controversial Glastonbury performances on Saturday

It was only when shuffling away from the West Holts stage in a throng of people after two hours of mayhem, that I noticed – on first glance – what looked like blood.

It was smeared on people’s hair, over their clothes and across the acres of bare flesh which was on display in the sweltering afternoon sun.

Amid the chaos of Bob Vylan then Kneecap’s controversy-rich sets, I’d failed to see what I’m told was a fire extinguisher filled with red-paint going off.

Quite how this was smuggled into Glastonbury past security is anyone’s guess.

Normally a stunt such as this – a hallmark of Palestine Action although it’s not known if they were behind it – would have grabbed all the headlines.

But even this was overshadowed by the extraordinary scenes which preceded it, including chants during Vylan’s set of “Death, death to the IDF.”

I should know….because I was at the heart of the action.

Over the course of two and a half hours, that little part of Worthy Farm became a snarling cess-pit of hate.

Towards Sir Keir Starmer, towards the BBC…and mainly, towards Israel.

I was half-expecting the crowd to be predominantly young…but as I stood wedged just a few metres from the stage, all ages were represented.

A man in his 60s is wearing a Free Mo Chara T-shirt, while an old lady next to me is draped in Palestinian flags.

I assume they’d arrived early long before Kneecap performed to secure a good spot.

Glastonbury bosses had warned that morning that they may have to close off access to the West Holts area because of over-crowding.

But as soon as Bob Vylan’s set began, it became obvious that his act was exactly the aperitif that the febrile crowd craved.

But given the levels of controversy it could easily have been the main course.

“We are live on the BBC, so we have to be careful what we say,” said Vylan.

But being careful was not on the agenda as he began a spine-tingling chant calling for the murder of the Israel Defence Force.

The face of the old lady next to me is contorted with rage as she chants along.

“Name him, name him,” menacingly chant the crowd back.

If Glastonbury wanted to stir the crowd up ahead of Kneecap, then scheduling Vylan as the preceding act did just that.

By the time the Irish band arrived and looked out at a sea of Palestinian flags, the atmosphere was super-charged.

    Things escalated quickly.

Perhaps someone off stage had a word in his ear as shortly after there was a hasty u-turn.

“No riots, just love and support, and support for Palestine,” he backtracked.

There were not one but five foul-mouthed chants aimed at the Prime Minister who had called for Michael Eavis to drop the band.

To hear a large proportion of the 30,000-strong crowd berating a Labour politician was a Glastonbury first given its ties to the party.

“You’re just a s*** Jeremy Corbyn,” said Chara, referencing the former leader’s very different reception here in 2017.

The crowd were lapping it up. Flares were constantly going off, as was the fire extinguisher, somewhere behind me.

Kerry Katona’s daughter broke down in tears as she recalled a chilling childhood memory of her stepdad hitting her mum.

Heidi Katona was just a kid when mum Kerry was married to third husband, ex-rugby player George Kay, who tragically died of a drugs overdose in 2019 aged just 39 after ‘eating cocaine’ at a hotel.

But the now 18-year-old – who says she saw George as a dad even though her biological father is Kerry’s second husband, taxi driver and drug dealer Mark Croft – has opened up on what it was like growing up and admitted: “I saw things as a child I should not have seen.”

The teenager said she saw George violently attack her mum – who is dad to Kerry’s 11-year-old daughter Dylan-Jorge, known as DJ. Once he even threatened to kill DJ by injecting her with heroin.

Heidi, who wants to follow in her mum Kerry’s footsteps and be famous, now has mixed feelings about the man she called dad. In her first ever interview, she told The Sun: “I am grieving for him. But I also saw my dad hitting my mum.

“She didn’t realise at the time how much I saw. It has an effect on who I am now. I saw things as a child I should not have seen. Mum sent me to a therapist but I don’t see the point of it. I try to be tough. Like mum I use humour to cover things up, but it’s not always easy.”

The 44-year-old Atomic Kitten star has hit the headlines over the years as much for her personal life as for her career. A mum of five who has been married three times, she shares eldest daughters Molly, 23, and Lilly-Sue, 22, with first husband, Westlife star Brian McFadden.

Heidi, 18, and brother Max, 17, were born while she was married to second husband Mark Croft. Suggesting her real dad isn’t part of her life anymore, Heidi paid tribute to her mum on father’s day earlier this month and posted on social media: ‘The woman who did both jobs @kerrykatona7 Happy Father’s Day.’ Kerry’s youngest child is 11-year-old daughter DJ – whose dad is her late third husband George Kay.

Over her 25-year career Kerry – who grew up in foster care – has been a singer and reality TV star and been declared bankrupt twice. But she is now a self-made millionaire again after joining adults only site OnlyFans – and Heidi revealed she got her kids approval before signing up to the platform during lockdown.

She shared how mum Kerry sat them all down and said ‘I want to do OnlyFans – tell me if you have a problem with that’ before explaining what the site was. Heidi said: “Lockdown meant her other work had stopped. We all agreed she should do it, she’s a grown woman who makes her own decisions.

“She bought us all Airpods with her earnings. I thought, ‘This is great’. She’s done glamour before, she’s been pictured with her boobs out, there’s not a huge difference. This way she takes control and makes money from her sexuality.

“We didn’t know at the time that she was struggling for money. She has hidden a lot from us over the years.”

Her mum now lives in a five-bedroom house in Cheshire and drives a Lamborghini – all paid for by her earnings from OnlyFans, where Kerry admits she’s made a lot of money selling foot fetish photos.

But though she has fame in her sights, Heidi insists she wants to be a lawyer or a property developer – and says she would never do Love Island as she doesn’t want her mum to see her kissing on TV.
