They were a ‘massive part’ of the show

TV presenter Gethin Jones revealed he will miss one of his Morning Live colleagues after they announced their departure from the show.

The Welsh host fronted Tuesday morning’s (July 1) episode alongside pregnant presenter Michelle Ackerley. During the show, they spoke to finance expert Iona Bain about changes to mortgage rates, and Zara McDermott about her latest BBC documentary, To Catch a Stalker.

However, during the same morning, Gethin, 47, revealed that a member of the team informed him they would be leaving for good.

Gethin Jones says goodbye to Morning Live pal

In an Instagram Story shared earlier today (July 1), Gethin uploaded a selfie of himself on set alongside Michelle and Michael, who he revealed is a “massive part of the mechanics and logistics of a live TV show”.

Gethin revealed Michael had told him that he was set to leave the show “for a brilliant new adventure”. He added the sad face emoji.

The former Blue Peter star described Michael as the “ultimate pro” who had worked on an impressive 607 shows. Gethin stated he had only missed five in the years he had been working on Morning Live.

He concluded: “He’s a top man.”

Morning Live hosts have ‘natural chemistry’

In a new interview with Hello, fellow Morning Live presenter Helen Skelton, 41, said she and the show’s mainstay presenters, Gethin and Michelle, are close off-camera.

“I’ve done this job for a long time and I feel very lucky that every now and again you land on a group of people and a crew that really clicks,” she explained.

“Michelle [Ackerley] and Gethin [Jones] and I have all been friends for years and years. Gethin and I crossed over a lot at Blue Peter, so we’ve got a lot of the same reference points,” Helen added.

Former Strictly star Helen disclosed that she and Michelle “used to flat share back in London”. She stated they have “natural chemistry” because they have known each other since they began their television careers.

“If you have to go to work and you like what you do and you do it with people that are like an extension of your family, then you’re very lucky and I definitely feel like that at Morning Live,” she continued.

Even though neither have confirmed the rumours, Helen and Gethin are reportedly secretly dating.

Coronation Street fans were left fuming with Kevin Webster during tonight’s episode – as it was revealed he was lying to his family about still having cancer

Kevin Webster was seen telling a huge lie about his testicular cancer in tonight’s Coronation Street – and fans were fuming with his behaviour.

It’s been a tough year for the Websters, but it looked like things had taken a positive turn when it was revealed in tonight’s episode that he’d been given the all clear. However, it seems like he’s keeping the good news to himself…

Earlier in the episode, Kevin was seen heading to his appointment alone, as Abi was forced to attend a breakdown call. Abi was later left fuming when she realised Carl Webster could have attended the breakdown, meaning she’d completely missed Kev’s “life-changing” consultation.

Following his appointment, Kevin and Abi headed to Speed Daal for a date night, and it was there that we learnt that Kevin had been given the all clear. As Abi headed to the bathroom, Kevin was approached by Dr. Gaddas, who congratulated him on getting the all clear.

    Kevin
Kevin was given the all clear in tonight’s episode

As he thanked her, Kevin then asked if she could just keep it between them, as he hasn’t yet told his family. “Of course not, I wouldn’t break patient confidentiality,” she said.

Despite Kevin telling the doctor he’d be telling his family about the all clear, it doesn’t look like he’s planning on doing it anytime soon.

“What was that about?” Abi asked as she returned from the bathroom. Fans of course, expected him to tell Abi the good news, but instead he let her believe he still has the illness.

“She was just saying how sorry she was,” Kevin told Abi, as she was seen getting emotional during his ‘sick lie’.

    Kevin and family
    Will Kevin’s truth be revealed?

“Kev, what ever lies ahead, I’m here,” an emotional Abi said, as the two expressed their love for one another. But how long will Kevin keep the lie up?

Fans were disgusted with the character, as they took to X, formerly known as Twitter to share their disappointment. “kevin webster is on my hit list omg I HATE HIM!! #Corrie,” exclaimed one. Another angry fan tweeted: “Woahhhhhh… not Kev lying, because he knows Abi will leave him if he is in the all clear. How MAD!”

A third exclaimed: “Kev showing his true colours! How could he stoop so low?!” as a fourth said: “Sickening behaviour from Kev!”

Kevin’s lie comes after he continues to grow suspicious of his brother Carl and Abi’s actions. Earlier in the week, Kevin picked up Abi’s phone and spotted a flirtatious message that Carl had recently sent.

However, spoilers from next week reveal that Kevin’s lie is set to be exposed as he admits to his brother Carl that he’s got the all clear and needs no more cancer treatment, despite his wife Abi Franklin being under the impression he needs more chemotherapy.

Soon enough, Kevin makes up to his sister Debbie and pal Tyrone that his cancer is unresponsive and he has to have further treatment. But feeling the pressure of his lies, he admits to Tyrone that he lied and his cancer has gone.

Gary Windass’ shocking Coronation Street storyline is finally explained next week according to new spoilers.

But some fans think they have already worked out what really happened to the character, and who attacked him. We found out last week that missing Gary has been in a coma in hospital.

Someone has been using his phone to pretend he’s okay, when actually he’s the person Nina Lucas and Summer Spellman saw and “left for dead” when they were high on LSD. Nina has been worried ever since about who she potentially hurt, not knowing it was Gary.

Nina said she’d shoved a man fearing she was in danger, when said man lunged at her. The camera then panned to Gary in a coma when Nina was heard saying she needed to know who he was.

Gary is in a bad way, and whoever attacked him is going to great lengths to cover up their crime. Spoilers revealed the mystery person, thought to be a woman, has given hospital staff a fake name for Gary, while claiming to be his next of kin so the police do not inform his real family.

Gary Windass' shocking Coronation Street storyline is finally explained next week amid a Nina and Summer twist

But ahead of the truth coming out and Gary’s fate being revealed, some fans think they have cracked the case. A few different names have been put forward as the potential culprit.

With Nina so worried about what’s happened and clearly not knowing it’s Gary, she can’t be the one hiding the crime. But could Summer know more than she’s letting on?

Other names fans are suspecting include Brody Michaelis and his mother Lou, after her run-in with him recently. Gary also had a run-in with Brody’s father Mick who’s in prison – but has Mick orchestrated the attack?

Taking to social media, one fan theorised: “A Kit/Brody cover up,” as another said: “It’s either Brody or a drugged-up Summer.” A third posted: “Summer has his phone I will bet.”

As for Lou or Brody, or even Mick, one fan said: “Lou is texting Maria. I’d say Lou and/or Brody brought Gary to the hospital themselves and told the nurses they were related.” A further comment suggested: “I don’t think it’s Brody.

    Did Brody attack Gary?

“I don’t think he’s clever enough for that. Maybe someone from the prison who is on Mick’s side and is watching Lou and knows something. I dunno. I feel it’s an adult though.” One fan replied: “I hadn’t thought about Mick – good point. He was annoyed she’d been hanging out with him.”

A fan then said: “Though the only one that can get into Gary’s phone is Lou, she remembers his code.” While another fan commented: “Well… I’m wondering if the Summer/Nina thinking they battered someone is just a red herring and it was actually Debbie.

“When she was really upset and got behind the wheel.” Nina and Summer could be to blame though according to some fans, with one comment reading: “I guess if she took him by surprise with a shove and he fell and hit his head in the wrong place it wouldn’t really take much.”

Denise Welch sets record straight on ‘ridiculous’ Loose Women co-star ‘feud’

Denise Welch was quick to set the record straight while appearing on ITV’s This Morning as she spoke about the on-air clashes that often takes place on ITV show Loose Women

Loose Women star Denise Welch has opened up on reported feuds amongst her ITV co-stars as she insisted that they all get along very well.

The 66-year-old actress appeared on ITV’s This Morning on Wednesday (March 5) alongside Loose Morning star Jane Moore.

Discussing their new podcast with presenters Ben Shephard and Cat Deeley, the pair went on to share insight on how they’re able to talk about matters in depth and how their new Loose Women audio programme has been a success so far.

But when presenter Cat pointed out how well the women seem to get along despite having on-air clashes, Densise explained that things are often taken out of context.

Cat said: “As a woman watching that show, I love it that you can really disagree and then you’re the best of mates.”

Denise quickly interjected and said: “We never even talk about it off stage, no!” With Jane adding that their conflicts often end up on the “front page of a magazine”.

Former Coronation Street star Denise added: “It’s so ridiculous! I’m 67 this year. If you think I would voluntarily come into a job with a toxic environment, I wouldn’t! I don’t have to and I wouldn’t!

Denise shared her points on feuds with co-stars

“We have never had a row in all the years that we’ve worked! Me and Carol McGiffin used to have some hong dingers on there but we never talked about when we got off stage. People like to pit women against each other.”

After hearing Denise’s stance, some viewers were left rather unsure, with one writing: “Jeez! Own opinions?? Didn’t Charlene [White] have to give Denise a telling off ‘on-air’ last week over her comments on a subject??”

Another also shared a harsh reaction and penned: “Toxic femininity also exists. You only need to watch Loose Women to see it in action.”

The first episode of Loose Women is available for fans to listen to on ITVX. The synopsis for episode one reads: “In our first episode of Loose Women: The Podcast, Denise Welch and Ayda Field Williams discuss addiction, surrogacy, motherhood and Hollywood crushes!”

Loose Women airs weekdays at 12:30pm on ITV1

Linda Robson has opened up about the moment she noticed something “wasn’t right” with her close friend and ‘Birds of a Feather’ co-star Pauline Quirke. Pauline, 65, was diagnosed with dementia in 2021, but the illness only became public knowledge when her husband Steve Sheen made an announcement in January this year.

Linda, 66, expressed concern when Pauline stopped returning her calls, saying: “I hadn’t spoken to her for a little while and I kept wondering why she hadn’t returned my calls. Eventually, Steve phoned me back. Lesley [Joseph] and I went for lunch with her and that’s when we realised something wasn’t right with her, and that was three years ago.”

The news hit Linda hard, yet she respected the family’s privacy and kept the diagnosis confidential, vowing to secrecy. “I’ve known for the last three years that she wasn’t well,” the Loose Women panellist added to Bella Magazine.

“I managed to keep it a secret. It was very important that I did, because it was up to her family when it was time for them to let everyone know. Steve was taking her away a lot, just to get her out of the country.”

In the wake of the public statement in January, Steve informed fans about Pauline’s withdrawal from her professional engagements and commercial responsibilities because of her dementia. However, he assured that Pauline’s UK-wide performing arts academy would continue to thrive, remaining true to her ideals and vision, reports Bristol Live.

Pauline Quirke’s husband went public with her Dementia diagnosis in January 2025

In a heart-wrenching update, Linda revealed that Pauline, her friend of over 50 years and co-star in Birds of a Feather, no longer recognises her or speaks much during their FaceTime calls. Despite ruling out any further filming for the sitcom without Pauline, Linda plans to honour her long-time friend in other ways.

Over her 50-year career, Pauline has graced more than 60 television and film productions, including The Sculptress, Broadchurch, Carrie’s War, North and South, Casualty, and ITV soap Emmerdale. Dementia manifests differently in different people, but there are some common early signs that may appear before a diagnosis, according to the NHS.

The NHS website explains: “These symptoms are often mild and may get worse only very gradually.

“It’s often termed ‘mild cognitive impairment’ (MCI) as the symptoms are not severe enough to be diagnosed as dementia.”

The health system also states that dementia is not a natural part of ageing, and recommend seeing a GP sooner rather than later if you’re worried about memory problems or other symptoms.

Loose Women’s Christine Lampard makes surprise admission about husband Frank

Loose Women star Christine Lampard has opened up about her husband Frank’s intelligence, revealing some surprise facts about the ex-footballer

Christine Lampard made a surprise admission about her husband Frank during Wednesday’s (5 March) episode of Loose Women. The TV presenter was back on the panel for another instalment of the daytime show, with her footballer husband being brought up in conversation.

The panel discussed Frank’s intelligence, questioning if Christine is as clever as her husband. The topic arose after it was revealed Frank once took an IQ test and scored very high.

“When he was playing at Chelsea, they made all of the players do an IQ test. It was actually just a foundation kind of IQ measurement in case there was a head injury playing the sport, so they could do another test later on,” Christine explained to her co-stars.

The TV star opened up about her husband on Loose Women

She admitted: “He completed smashed it. He did brilliantly in it. Some big high score. Mensa almost picking up the phone!”

Christine’s co-star Denise Welch then brought up Frank’s GCSE results, revealing she’d previously been informed that he achieved an A* in Latin and completed the qualification a year before his peers.

“Yes he’s got an A* in Latin,” Christine said, jokingly rolling her eyes. “I am joking. He is good at working things out. I understand why he does well on these kind of tests.”

Frank, who is now the head coach at Coventry City FC, has an IQ of 150, putting him in the top one to two percent of the country. He has previously opened up about taking the test during his time at Chelsea, revealing the opportunity arose after his team mate John Terry suffered concussion in 2007.

He told the Coventry Telegraph: “I just breezed it. I was at Chelsea and it was in the aftermath of JT getting kicked in the head in the Carabao Cup final. Our doctor, who was Brian English at the time, made us do IQ tests to get us a base level of IQ so we could be registered again if you have a concussion or a head injury.”

Asked about his high score, he said: “Other people were more interested in it than me, to be fair. I’m quite proud of it. It just beat my wife, Christine, which was the best thing about it. She was just below me. I don’t know the exact numbers. I think she’s around the same.”

Radio 2 chaos as Vernon Kay misses show as he’s trapped on hot train

BBC Radio 2 presenter Vernon Kay missed the start of his morning show on Tuesday after becoming “trapped” on a train. The 51-year-old was expected on air at 9.30am but said his train had broken down.

Sara Cox, who was presenting Scott Mills’ breakfast show on the station, stayed on to cover for Kay. Posting on his Instagram story, Kay said the “train isn’t training!!” and asked Cox to “hang fire”.

Cox, who like Kay is from Bolton in Greater Manchester, told the BBC Radio 2 audience: “Oh no, I’ve just realised I’m not gonna be in time for reformer Pilates.

“If you just joined in and you’re thinking Vernon is sounding a little extra-manly today, don’t worry. It’s me: Sara, from the same area obviously, though famously.

“Vernon, poor Vernon stuck on a hot, sweaty train with no coffee, no air-con, no deodorant. So he’s going to get in at some point, hopefully.”

Cox reassured listeners that veteran broadcaster Gary Davies would be filling in from 10am. When Davies took over, he said: “If you just tuned in and wondering were Vernon is, he was on his train like usual and the train broke down and so he has been in sweltering hot heat and they had to send a rescue train which also broke down.”

Kay took to Instagram himself to share updates on his heated journey with fans. “The train isn’t training,” Kay wrote as he captioned a snap of himself looking hot and bothered on board. “Hang fire @djsaracox @bbcradio2. Send deodorant and coffee.”

Later, Kay got a boost when conditions on the train improved. “Aircon is back on!!!” Kay told his followers as he posed looking slightly happier.

Parts of England face a heatwave with temperatures in London expected to reach 34C on Tuesday, according to the Met Office.

Davis also played two voice notes on air from Kay where listeners could hear him thanking the presenter for covering the show and calling him a “gentleman”.

Kay later added: “We are trapped on the train. We are still not in good spirits but we are trying Gary, we really are trying. All the best.”

Former BBC Radio 2 presenter Ken Bruce appeared to have had a similar issue after his train broke down on Tuesday.

Posting on X, the DJ apologised to his followers, adding that he would be late to his Greatest Hits Radio show due to a broken down train.

Kay replaced Bruce on the BBC Radio 2 mid-morning weekday program in 2023.

Eamonn Holmes is selling £65 tickets for a talk about his career on the telly as he begins a divorce battle with estranged wife Ruth Langsford.

Telly’s former golden couple have engaged high-powered lawyers as they seek to divide up their assets – with Eamonn having to stump a fortune for a rented flat away from his £3.6m former marital home in Surrey, where Ruth has remained.

Now the 65-year-old GB host – dating marriage guidance counsellor Katie Alexander – is seeking to rake in some extra money to help cover the legal fees by taking to the stage.

He’ll appear before a theatre audience in Hertfordshire later this year for show called 45 Years in Showbiz – An Evening with Eamonn Holmes.

Fans are told: “From ground breaking news coverage to beloved morning television presenter, Holmes is a household name known for his wit, warmth and unmistakable charm.

“Now he takes to the stage to share personal stories, career highlights and behind-the-scenes insights. Expect laughter, nostalgia and surprises as we honour a remarkable showbiz career.

“Don’t miss this unforgettable night paying tribute to a broadcasting legend who has shaped the face of British television for nearly half a century!”

General admission to the event in November at The Spotlight in Hoddesdon cost £34. But £66.50 VIP audience members get: “Early entry to the venue, a VIP lanyard on arrival, premium seating, a meet and greet with Eamonn Holmes, a professional photo with Eamonn to take home on the night, a digital copy of the photo available to download within 24 hours, and a signed poster.”

The news anchor’s newfound happiness with Katie, 43, comes after his ex Ruth, 65, reportedly brought in lawyers to make sure he would never get her share of their home.

The divorcing Loose Women star has been granted a severance of joint tenancy of the six-bed pile they bought in 2014. The move, revealed in public documents, means that if Ruth were to die, her share of the house in Weybridge would not go to Eamonn. The couple, both 65, met in 1997.

They had son, Jack, in 2002 and wed in 2010, moving into the home on a private estate four years later. But they announced they were splitting last year.

Eamonn recently shared his secret to a “happy relationship” while on GB News, saying that when it comes to politics, he likes to be on the same wavelength as his partner.

During a chat with Ellie Costello about her husband, he asked: “Would his politics and would his views on things have influenced you in some way?”

She responded: “Not initially, no, but we do have the same politics. I think it makes life easier if you do. What about you? What do you think?” Eamonn agreed, adding that “any partners” he has ever had “think the same as me”.
