Princess Diana and Dodi Fayed’s summer romance captivated the world in the weeks leading up to their tragic deaths on Aug. 31, 1997.

Diana, who was divorced from then-Prince Charles and had just ended a two-year relationship with surgeon Hasnat Khan, was going into the summer as a single woman when she was romantically linked to Dodi, an Egyptian filmmaker, in July 1997. The pair spent time together in the south of France on a yacht owned by Dodi’s father (the billionaire businessman and then-owner of Harrods department store Mohamed Al Fayed) — and kicked off a whirlwind romance that became the obsession of the tabloid press.

“Diana was starting a new life. She had said, ‘I’m spreading my wings,’ ” royal biographer Judy Wade previously told PEOPLE.

As Diana and Dodi continued spending time together in August 1997, from yachting in the Mediterranean to entertaining at Dodi’s residences in London, the press attention surrounding the couple intensified. The heat from the paparazzi reached its peak when Diana and Dodi traveled to Paris on Aug. 30, 1997. In the early hours of Aug. 31, after leaving a romantic dinner at the Ritz Paris, Princess Diana and Dodi were killed in a car crash as they attempted to evade photographers.

From their first encounters to their devastating deaths, here is a complete timeline of Princess Diana and Dodi Fayed’s relationship.

Princess Diana and Dodi reportedly first crossed paths in 1986. According to The Independent, they met at a polo match when Dodi’s team played against Diana’s then-husband King Charles at Windsor Great Park. This interaction was later recreated on season 5 of The Crown, though some details were changed: On The Crown, Dodi’s father, Mohamed, sponsors the polo match in 1990 (not 1986) in an attempt to sit next to Queen Elizabeth. However, he ends up seated next to Diana instead, who smiles at Dodi — though the two do not speak in the episode.

The same year, both Diana and Dodi experienced strife in their individual relationships. Charles and Diana each began extramarital affairs in 1986: Charles confirmed in his authorized biography, The Prince of Wales, that he began his affair with Camilla Parker Bowles, while ex-army Major James Hewitt also claimed to have started a five-year affair with Princess Diana around the same time. Dodi, meanwhile, wed model Suzanne Gregard in 1986 — but divorced eight months later.

In April 1992, Princess Diana attended the London premiere of Hook — which was executive produced by Dodi — with her sons, Prince William and Prince Harry. Jim Hart, a screenwriter for Hook, later told Vanity Fair that Dodi had noticed Princess Diana at the movie premiere.

“He had admired and revered her from afar,” Hart said. “He talked about her, what a great lady she was.”

December 9, 1992: Princess Diana and King Charles separate

Prime Minister John Major announced in December 1992 that Charles and Diana were separating. He read an official statement to the House of Commons, which stated: “It is announced from Buckingham Palace that, with regret, the Prince and Princess of Wales have decided to separate. Their Royal Highnesses have no plans to divorce and their constitutional positions are unaffected. This decision has been reached amicably, and they will both continue to participate fully in the upbringing of their children.”

September 1995: Princess Diana begins a secret relationship with Hasnat Khan

Diana met British-Pakistani heart surgeon Hasnat Khan on Sept. 1, 1995. The people’s princess was comforting her friend Oonagh Toffolo while her husband underwent heart surgery at Royal Brompton Hospital, and Khan was the attending surgeon who provided Toffolo with an update on the triple bypass surgery, Vanity Fair reported.  About two weeks later, Diana and Khan found themselves alone in a hospital elevator — and he invited her to visit his aunt and uncle in Stratford-upon-Avon with him.

“I did not think for one minute that she would say yes, but I asked her if she would like to come with me,” Khan told the police in an interview following Diana’s death, per Vanity Fair. “I was very surprised when she said she would. After this, our friendship turned into a relationship.”

After years of rumored marital strife and living separately, Diana and Charles finalized their divorce in August 1996. The terms of the divorce allowed for Diana to remain living at Kensington Palace and for the former couple to share custody of their two sons, Prince William and Prince Harry.

July 1997: Mohamed Al Fayed invites Princess Diana to vacation in the south of France

In the summer of 1997, Dodi’s father, Mohamed, extended an invitation to Diana and her sons, Prince William (who was 15 years old at the time) and Prince Harry (who was 12), to vacation at his villa in St. Tropez and cruise on his $32 million yacht, the Jonikal.

Around the same time, Diana and Khan ended their two-year relationship — though there are differing reports over the timing and who called it off. Royal biographer Wade previously told PEOPLE that Diana had “wanted to marry” Khan, but that he ended things because “he didn’t want to be a walker to a famous woman.”

However, Khan told police following Diana’s death that she ended the relationship with him after vacationing on the Jonikal with the Fayeds.

“When Diana went to St. Tropez with Mr. Al Fayed, everything was fine between us,” Khan told police investigating her death, according to Vanity Fair. “After a few days, I felt something was wrong.”

Khan told police that, at the end of July 1997, Diana met him at Kensington Palace and told him “that it was all over between us.”

July 14, 1997: Mohamed Al Fayed invites Dodi Fayed to join Princess Diana on the Jonikal

Days after Princess Diana arrived in St. Tropez, Mohamed called for Dodi to join Diana and her sons on the Jonikal, according to Vanity Fair. At the time, Dodi was reportedly in Paris with his alleged fiancée Kelly Fisher.

Fisher claimed that she was flown to St. Tropez days after Dodi and boarded another yacht owned by Mohamed. Dodi allegedly yacht-hopped between the two, spending time with both Fisher and Princess Diana.

July 31, 1997: Princess Diana and Dodi Fayed return to the Jonikal

After spending time together on the Jonikal earlier in the month, Princess Diana and Dodi reportedly began a discreet romance, according to Wade. He started to send lavish gifts to Kensington Palace, including “a huge box of tropical fruit, a roomful of pink roses, a Cartier panther watch,” the royal biographer told PEOPLE.

“Dodi became Diana’s distraction,” she added.

So when Prince William and Prince Harry went to spend the month of August at Balmoral, Queen Elizabeth’s Scottish estate, with their father and grandparents, Princess Diana returned to the Jonikal with Dodi.

Diana and Dodi spent the next six days sailing in Sardinia aboard the Jonikal. During their cruise, the new couple were photographed embracing and kissing.

“Diana is besotted,” a source told PEOPLE at the time.

After returning from Sardinia, Princess Diana spent time with Dodi at his lavish Park Lane apartment in London. Diana was spotted stepping out of a limo, wearing a figure-hugging blue dress, and entering the Fayed residence, where dinner was served on silver trays. She stayed at Dodi’s apartment until about 1 a.m. before flying to Bosnia the next day to campaign against landmines.

August 10, 1997: The Sunday Mirror publishes the first photos of Princess Diana and Dodi Fayed kissing

On Aug. 10, 1997, The Sunday Mirror ran one of Mario Brenna’s paparazzi photos of Princess Diana and Dodi embracing aboard the Jonikal — underneath the headline “The Kiss.” It marked the first tabloid photos of the two together and served as the unofficial confirmation of their romance.

“You only have to look at the sensual body language to know that they have found physical and spiritual fulfillment in each other,” The Sunday Mirror wrote about Princess Diana’s new relationship with Dodi.

Days after The Sunday Mirror published photos of Dodi and Diana, Fisher hired attorney Gloria Allred and sued Dodi for breach of contract. In the lawsuit, she alleged she was supposed to marry Dodi on Aug. 9, 1997 — the day before The Sunday Mirror publication — and that he had violated their marriage agreement by leaving her for Princess Diana.

In the lawsuit, Fisher claimed that Dodi offered her $500,000 to ditch her modeling career to spend more time with him — but only paid her $60,000 and a $200,000 check that bounced. The lawsuit sought to recoup the remaining $440,000 she was promised, plus damages.

“Mr. Fayed needs to take responsibility for the woman that he ‘left at the altar’ and treated with such total disrespect,” Allred said during an August press conference while a tearful Fisher sat beside her. “He threw her love away in a callous way with no regard for her whatsoever.”

A representative for the Fayed family, however, claimed that Dodi and Fisher were never engaged, according to The Irish Times.

“We are content to leave it to the good sense of the British and American people to judge this development for what it is,” the Fayed family said in a statement.

August 23, 1997: Princess Diana and Dodi Fayed vacation again on the Jonikal

Princess Diana and Dodi returned to the south of France on Aug. 23, 1997, and the couple spent the next week aboard the Jonikal as it cruised throughout the Mediterranean. Their relationship, at this point, was constantly in the press — and paparazzi swirled around the yacht while Diana and Dodi vacationed.

Dodi’s father Mohamed would claim years later that, during this trip, Diana and Dodi visited the jeweler Alberto Repossi at his Monte Carlo store, according to an inquest into Diana’s death, per The Guardian. Mohamed alleged that the couple selected an engagement ring for Diana at Repossi’s Monte Carlo shop, which was then sent off to Italy to be resized. However, the validity of these claims has been disputed.

After their Mediterranean jaunt, Princess Diana and Dodi flew to Paris aboard the Fayed family’s private jet. From there, the couple made their way to the Ritz Paris, which, at the time, was owned by Dodi’s father. Dodi and Diana then traveled to Dodi’s Paris flat — but photographers were camped out at both the hotel and his residence.

Dodi and Diana originally had dinner reservations at the Paris restaurant Chez Benoit, but after learning that photographers and press were waiting outside the restaurant, they decided to cancel and return to the Ritz for dinner instead. The couple dined at the Ritz’s L’Espadon restaurant around 10:30 p.m. that evening.

“They looked like two love-struck teenagers,” an employee of the hotel later told PEOPLE about what would be their final dinner.

August 31, 1997: Princess Diana and Dodi Fayed are killed in a car crash

Around 12:15 a.m. on Aug. 31, 1997, Princess Diana and Dodi left the Ritz for Dodi’s Paris apartment. The couple sat in the backseat of a black Mercedes driven by Henri Paul, the Ritz’s assistant director of security. Trevor Rees-Jones, Dodi’s bodyguard, was in the front passenger seat.

The car was driven at high speeds in an attempt to evade the paparazzi that were tailing them. Then, tragedy struck: In the tunnel beside the Place de l’Alma, the car carrying Dodi and Diana crashed head-on into a concrete support column.

“There was this huge, violent, terrifying crash followed by the lone sound of a car horn,” Jerome Laumonier, who was near the crash site, later told PEOPLE.

Dodi, who was 42 at the time, and Paul were killed instantly. Princess Diana — who had sustained extensive injuries in the crash — was transported to Pitié-Salpêtrière Hospital, where she went into cardiac arrest and was pronounced dead at approximately 3 a.m. She was 36 years old.

September 5, 1997: Mohamed Al Fayed’s spokesman claims Princess Diana and Dodi Fayed exchanged gifts before they died

In a press conference held outside Harrods, Michael Cole, a spokesman for the Fayed family, revealed that Diana and Dodi had exchanged gifts just hours before they died on Aug. 31, 1997, per CNN.

According to Cole, Diana had gifted Dodi a pair of cufflinks that had belonged to her father, the late Earl Spencer, and a gold cigar cutter inscribed “With love from Diana.” Dodi presented Diana with a small silver plaque inscribed with a poem he had written and a $205,000 diamond-encrusted ring that he had picked up that day from Repossi Jewelers in Paris.

“What that ring meant, we shall probably never know,” Cole said at the press conference, per BBC. “And if the planet lasts for another thousand years, I’m quite sure that people will continue to speculate about its significance.”

Princess Diana’s funeral was held at Westminster Abbey on Sept. 6, 1997. Millions of onlookers lined the streets and watched as her ex-husband King Charles and her two sons, Prince William and Prince Harry, marched solemnly behind her coffin.

Princess Diana’s brother, Charles Spencer, delivered a heart-wrenching eulogy at her funeral. In it, he condemned the paparazzi and the tabloid press for their treatment of his late sister — infamously calling her “the most hunted person of the modern age.”

Dodi, meanwhile, was laid to rest the same day he died, Aug. 31, 1997 (in keeping with Muslim traditions). A prayer service was held at the London Central Mosque and attended by 650 people before he was buried in Brookwood Cemetery.

“God took their souls to live together in Paradise,” Dodi’s father Mohamed said at the time.

February 12, 1998: Mohamed Al Fayed claims Princess Diana and Dodi Fayed’s were not accidental

In February 1998, Mohamed gave an interview to The Mirror and made several explosive claims about his late son Dodi and Princess Diana — including that their deaths were not an accident.

“I believe in my heart 99.9% that it was not an accident,” he told The Mirror. “That car didn’t accidentally crash. There was a conspiracy. I will not rest until I have established exactly what happened.”

A memorial to Princess Diana and Dodi was unveiled at Harrods department store in 1998. It featured photos of the late couple, a lipstick-smudged wine glass from their last dinner at the Ritz in Paris and a ring said to have been purchased by Dodi the day before they died.

In 2005, Mohamed commissioned a second memorial to honor Diana and Dodi. The bronze statue, titled “Innocent Victims,” depicted Dodi and Diana dancing in the waves of the Mediterranean beneath the wings of an albatross, which symbolized freedom and eternity.

April 2008: The official inquests into Princess Diana and Dodi Fayed’s deaths concludes

In April 2008 — more than 10 years after the tragic deaths of Princess Diana and Dodi — an official coroner’s inquest conducted over six months ruled that their deaths were the result of “grossly negligent driving,” The Guardian reported.

The jury cited the speed and erratic driving of both the Mercedes and the following vehicles, the driver Henri Paul’s intoxication and the fact that the deceased were not wearing seat belts as contributing factors. The inquest, however, did not find any proof to Mohamed’s claims that their killings were orchestrated by Britain’s M16 and ordered by Prince Philip — and Mohamed accepted that outcome.

“I am leaving the rest for God to get my revenge. But I am not doing anything any more,” Mohamed said, per BBC, following the inquest’s conclusions.

David Beckham turns 40 on Saturday 2 May – and he’s reportedly planning on celebrating with a star-studded blow-out birthday bash in Marrakech, Morocco.

The former footballer is apparently set to fly out a host of celebrity pals – including Tom Cruise, Guy Ritchie,

and Gordon Ramsay – to his favourite five-star resort in Marrakech, reports the Daily Mail and OK!magazine.

David’s best friend Dave Gardner and his partner Liv Tyler are also thought to be on the guest list for the trip to the luxury Amanjena resort.

On its website, the Amanjena is described as “the first Aman resort on the African continent and is located just outside the ancient city of Marrakech.

“Set within an oasis of palms and olive trees, Moorish heritage is reflected throughout the pisé-walled resort,

including the Morocco luxury pavilions that radiate out from an ancient bassin, echoing the style of a sultan’s palace.

“Amanjena offers a variety of guided excursions on foot, bicycle or private car into the medina, the souk and squares, palaces, gardens and craft shops of ancient Marrakech.”

There’s also the chance to go hiking or biking into the High Atlas Mountains

What’s more, if you don’t actually want to leave the hotel, there’s certainly enough to keep you occupied – or not, whatever your preference.

There’s golf for David and his friends at The Amelkis Golf Course, alongside Amanjena, which offers “spectacular views to the High Atlas Mountains”.

And pampering for Victoria and her pals is easy. The website adds: “The hammam or steam bath is as central to Moroccan life as mint tea. Not surprising then that it is also the steamy heart of Amanjena’s Spa. Each hammam (one for men, another for women) is complemented by showers, washrooms, a dressing area and a glassed-in whirlpool, opening onto a fountain courtyard bordered by a pisé-wall two metres high. The hammam itself is a stepped, two-chamber room of Moresque arches meeting a vaulted ceiling.

“Treatments available at the Spa include massages, facials, scrubs and wraps, as well as manicures and pedicures. The Spa also incorporates a timber-floored gym.”

We’ll be waiting patiently for our invite to arrive…

The 46-year-old retired soccer ace performed best man duties for his 73-year-old dad,

who tied the knot with solicitor Hilary Meredith, 62, at Temple in Central London, a legal district in the British Capital, on Saturday (11.12.21).

The former England captain was joined by his fashion designer wife Victoria Beckham,

47, and their three youngest children – Romeo, 19, Cruz, 16, and 10-year-old Harper – at the ceremony.

A source told The Sun newspaper: “It was a very small private affair with just a handful of close family and friends, including David, Victoria and three of the children.

“David was best man and did all the usual things the best man does like hold the rings and he was due to give a speech as well.

“Ted is in his 70s and Hilary is in her 60s. It was the second wedding for both of them so they didn’t want to make a fuss of it but the whole family was delighted to be there.”

The power couple’s eldest boy, Brooklyn, 22, is currently believed to be in the US with his fiancee Nicola Peltz, and therefore missed out on his grandfather’s big day.

Ted and David’s mother Sandra – who also have two daughters – divorced in 2002 after 32 years of marriage.

Ted was introduced to Hilary through their charity work for Broughton House Veteran Care Village last year, and their engagement was announced in March 2020.

In a statement at the time, the couple shared: “While there are far more important things going on in the world right now, we are thrilled to say that we are happily engaged. Stay safe everyone.”

Meanwhile, for Father’s Day last year, Ted gushed to his son in a joint video: “You’ve turned out exactly how I want you.”

Kylian Mbappe has officially acquired a majority stake in French club Kén through his investment fund, Colis Capital.

This acquisition makes him the club’s new owner, with 80% of the shares.

Mbappe’s investment of approximately 15 million euros marks his first venture outside of football as a player.

He has appointed Jad Hamoud as the new Vice President of the club.

Hamoud is a former strategic and investment director of Bin Media Group.

He is also the current owner of the image management company for the 2018 World Cup champion.

Mbappe’s connection with Kén dates back to his childhood, as he was scouted by the club.

Despite competition from Monaco and PSG, Kén had a chance to sign him in 2012.

The club’s management was confident in securing Mbappe, offering an ambitious three-year contract.

However, financial limitations prevented Kén from keeping Mbappe, leading him to sign with Monaco.

Mbappe’s journey back to Kén began last year, surprising many in the club’s leadership.

He was drawn to the club’s strong training center and professional environment.

Kén has a rich history of producing notable players like Mathieu Bodmer and Thomas Lemar.

The club also boasts a loyal fan base with a stadium capacity of over 10,000 seats.

Mbappe’s mother, Fayza Lamari, expressed excitement about the investment’s potential.

She emphasized the strategic importance of Kén’s location near Île-de-France.

The news of Mbappe’s acquisition was initially kept secret, shocking many players and staff.

His influence and ambition are expected to usher in a new era for the club.

Kén’s players are excited about Mbappe’s ownership, seeing him as a role model.

Mbappe’s involvement mirrors that of other star players investing in clubs.

N’Golo Kanté, for example, purchased Belgian club Royal Excelsior Virton.

Mbappe’s investment aligns with a growing trend among footballers to own clubs.

Kanté’s motivation stemmed from his own experiences, wanting to give opportunities to others.

Similarly, other players like Odsonne Édouard and Sadio Mané have also invested in lower league clubs.

Édouard invested in FC Bobigny 93, aiming for ambitious projects and potential promotions.

Mané acquired a fifth-tier French club, demonstrating a desire to develop football talent.

Kalidou Koulibaly became a shareholder of a Serie A club, showing a broader trend.

These players seek to impact the football world beyond their playing careers.

Mbappe’s decision to invest in Kén reflects a mix of passion and strategic vision.

His ambition and reputation will likely boost the club’s profile and performance.

The French football scene has seen a rise in player investments, led by figures like Kanté.

Mbappe’s move is a significant addition to this trend, with high expectations for success.

The investment not only benefits the clubs but also provides valuable experience for the players.

Mbappe’s ownership marks a new chapter in his career, blending football and business.

Kén fans and stakeholders are hopeful about the club’s future under Mbappe’s leadership.

His influence is expected to attract new talent and resources to the club.

The broader football community is watching closely as Mbappe embarks on this new journey.

His success could inspire other players to explore similar opportunities in club ownership.

As he balances playing and managing, his impact on the club will be closely observed.

The son of David and Victoria Beckham, 25, took fans step by step through his method of making almond milk for the actor, 29.

Once the milk was finished, he served it in a glass – but the additional ingredients at this step appeared to confuse fans in the comments of his social media pages.

“That much vanilla extract could kill a man,” one commenter remarked.

Brooklyn Beckham recently made headlines for preparing a homemade drink for his wife,

Nicola Peltz, a gesture that has captured the attention of fans and sparked a flurry of discussions online.

The situation has generated considerable interest and curiosity among followers of the celebrity couple, not just because of the act itself, but also due to the peculiar choice of ingredients that Brooklyn used in the drink.

Brooklyn Beckham, the eldest son of renowned English footballer David Beckham and former Spice Girl Victoria Beckham, has long been in the public eye. His relationship with actress Nicola Peltz, known for her roles in various high-profile films and television series, has also been a frequent topic of media coverage. The couple’s daily lives, including their personal habits and choices, are often scrutinized by fans and journalists alike. This recent incident is a prime example of how even seemingly small actions can become the center of widespread fascination.

In this particular case, Brooklyn decided to create a special homemade beverage for Nicola, which he presumably intended to be a thoughtful and personalized treat. The process of making the drink involved an array of ingredients that were quite unconventional, leading to a significant amount of confusion and curiosity among their supporters. The list of ingredients Brooklyn used in his concoction was far from typical, featuring a mix of items that many found unusual or unexpected. This choice of ingredients was not only surprising but also somewhat baffling to fans who were unfamiliar with the combination and the reasoning behind it.

The drink’s unusual nature prompted a range of reactions from the public. Some fans were intrigued and eager to learn more about the recipe and the potential benefits or flavors it might offer. Others were more skeptical, questioning the practicality and taste of the beverage. This mix of reactions underscores the extent to which public figures’ actions can captivate and divide audiences, turning even a simple homemade drink into a topic of widespread discussion.

Brooklyn Beckham’s choice to prepare a homemade drink reflects a personal touch and a desire to do something special for Nicola. It highlights his effort to engage in a domestic activity that goes beyond traditional acts of affection. The decision to use unconventional ingredients could also be seen as a reflection of his unique personality or perhaps a nod to experimental culinary interests. However, the lack of clarity regarding the purpose or inspiration behind the ingredients led to varying interpretations and a great deal of speculation among fans.

The reaction from social media users and fans further illustrates the broader phenomenon of how celebrity actions are often magnified and dissected in the public sphere. Social media platforms, where fans and followers discuss and comment on such incidents, played a significant role in amplifying the curiosity and debate surrounding Brooklyn’s homemade drink. The conversations ranged from lighthearted and humorous to critical and analytical, showcasing the diverse ways in which people engage with and interpret celebrity news.

In summary, Brooklyn Beckham’s attempt to make a homemade drink for Nicola Peltz has not only demonstrated his affection for his wife but also provided an interesting case study in how public figures’ everyday actions can generate significant media and public interest. The unusual ingredients used in the drink have contributed to a broader dialogue among fans, highlighting the ways in which even minor personal gestures can become major talking points. This incident serves as a reminder of the intense scrutiny and fascination that often accompany the lives of celebrities, turning ordinary moments into noteworthy events.

  • David Beckham m0cked his wife Victoria after a video she posted on Instagram led to negative discussions (video)

David Beckham m0cked his wife Victoria after a video she posted on Instagram led to negative discussions (video)

David Beckham couldn’t resist poking fun at his wife Victoria after a video she posted on Instagram got people talking for all the wrong reasons.

Earlier this week, multiplenewsoutlets reported on a video that the former Spice Girls singer shared on social media

    – with many apparently picking up on the fact that VB’s accent was sounding more “posh” than “Posh Spice”.

On Friday, Victoria and husband David enjoyed a hike in Aspen, with the fashion designer sharing footage of their day out on her Instagram.

As she showed off her surroundings to her followers, David was heard commenting off-camera: “I hope you’re not putting that dodgy accent on.”

“This is just how I talk!” Victoria then insisted.

Of course, those who follow the Beckhams on social media will know that David is just as good as dishing it out as he is taking it.

Earlier this month, he shared a video of his 11-year-old daughter Harper making fun of his “dad dancing” as they enjoyed a night out together watching The Weeknd in concert.

“Embarrassing dad moment,” he joked, adding: “[My] timing was a little off but we got there in the end and I made Harper Seven laugh… WOW what a show… THAT SMILE.”

Over the weekend, Victoria also shared footage of herself on the back of David’s motorbike, having what she referred to as a “Maverick moment”.

“[David] has been trying to get me on the back of his bike for years and finally I did it!” she explained. “It was so much fun!!”

Mia Regan flaunted the engagement ring from Romeo Beckham despite their breakup and his new girlfriend, prompting the new girlfriend to contact Mia to request the immediate removal of the ring (video)

Model Mia Regan, former girlfriend of Romeo Beckham, has fast become a Gen Z It-girl,

loved for her avant-garde fashion sense and effortless styling of vintage clothes that often land her on best-dressed lists.

On Saturday, the 21-year-old took to TikTok to give a tour of her quirky collection of silver rings

    – and seemed unphased as she nonchalantly flashed a glittering Seb Brown statement ring on her left hand.

Despite wearing the ring on her engagement ring finger, Mia clarified in the caption pasted over her video

that the bejewelled piece was just “a gift from friends and family from special occasions.” Sorry, it doesn’t look like there’s another Beckham wedding on the cards anytime soon.

“She’s very special to me,” Mia said of her sentimental ring. “I love the colour,” she added.

Nicola Peltz, wife of Brooklyn Beckham and sister-in-law to Mia’s ex-boyfriend Romeo, left a cryptic comment beneath Mia’s post, further suggesting that the former lovebirds are back together.

She wrote: “the ring” followed by a string of pink heart emojis. Mia was quick to reply, adding an equal amount of red hearts along with the comment: “haven’t taken it off,” to which Nicola said: “that makes me so happy!!”

It’s not clear which of the rings in the British model’s eclectic collection had a connection to Nicola, though it seems most likely that Mia’s £786 ‘Blue Sapphire Orbit ring’ and the £2,122 ‘Orbit Split diamond ring’ from Los Angeles-based jewellery Anita Ko could have been a gift from the LA-born actress.

Mia and Nicola have built up a sweet relationship over the years, and often appeared in family photos alongside the Beckhams whenever the family were together.

At David Beckham’s London premiere of his titular Netflix docuseries, Mia was amongst the star-studded guests, wearing a slinky black slip dress, dainty silver jewellery and a matte red lip as she took her then-boyfriend Romeo’s arm on the red carpet.

The duo’s current relationship status is unknown. Back in February, the couple called time on their five-year relationship, saying on Instagram: “Mooch [Mia] and I have parted ways after five years of love, we still have a lot of love and respect for each other, and still hold a strong friendship and always will”.

Yet just weeks later, the pair were snapped holding hands on a walk in London, and later enjoyed a date night at Chiltern Firehouse.

Diana’s cry for help: How the distraught Princess threw herself down the stairs at Sandringham while pregnant with Prince William… and the horrified Queen Elizabeth was the first on the scene

Their 1981 wedding captivated the world, with millions delighting in what appeared to be a royal fairy tale.

From the outside, Princess Diana‘s relationship with Prince Charles was a match made in heaven.

But, by early 1982, now-pregnant Diana was so unhappy that she resorted to throwing herself down the stairs to get her husband’s attention during a visit to Sandringham, the late Queen Elizabeth’s estate in Norfolk.

The Queen witnessed the aftermath and was left ‘shaking’ and ‘absolutely horrified’, Diana later told royal biographer Andrew Morton.

In audio tapes sent to Morton for his biography, Diana, Her True Story, she claimed she was dismissed by her husband when she initially threatened to throw herself down the stairs.

Accusing her of crying wolf, Charles allegedly told her: ‘I’m not going to listen. You’re always doing this to me. I’m going riding now.’

In response to Charles’s disregard and in a bid to get his attention, Diana revealed to Mr Morton: ‘I threw myself down the stairs.’

She said she was trying to get Charles’s attention and wanted him to listen to her.

The couple were staying at Queen Elizabeth’s Norfolk residence at the same time as the monarch and she happened to witness the incident as it played out.

Diana said: ‘The Queen comes out, absolutely horrified, shaking – she was so frightened.’

The Princess was four months pregnant with Prince William at the time but explained: ‘I knew I wasn’t going to lose the baby, [though I was] quite bruised around the stomach.’

However, the incident didn’t spark the reaction from Charles that Diana desperately desired and she told Mr Morton how ‘it was just dismissal’.

When he came back from riding, the Princess claimed he ‘just carried on out of the door’.

His response was influenced by advice from his friends who felt Diana needed to ‘pull herself together’, Robert Lacey wrote in his book, Battle of Brothers.

However, as Prince William’s due date approached, Charles did spend more time with Diana and stayed by her side when their first son was born.

In doing so, he became the first male royal to be present at a birth.

In a letter to his godmother, Patricia Knatchbull, Charles said how he was ‘so thankful I was beside Diana’s bedside the whole time’.

However, Princess Diana’s struggles with her mental health continued later on. When William was four years old, the princess fainted during a trip to Canada.

She was battling bulimia at the time and told Charles she thought she was ‘about to disappear’ before passing out during an exhibition at Expo’86.

The Princess received some help from doctors but continued to struggle and her marriage to Charles continued a downward spiral.

They eventually separated in 1992 before divorcing in 1996.

She said to Mr Morton how Charles ‘told a lot of people the reason why the marriage was so wobbly was because I was being sick the whole time.

‘They never questioned what it was doing to me.’

Brooklyn Beckham shares important marital advice his father gave him

Revealing how he knew that Nicola was the one for him, he gushed: ‘I feel like I’ve known her for six years and we were friends before and I feel like when you know, you just know, do you known what I mean?’

But when asked his most embarrassing moment in front of her, he admitted that it was when he let his nerves get the better of him during his proposal.

Brooklyn said: ‘Probably when I asked her to marry me because we were in this little gazebo and I tried to open up the wine and I was so nervous, I couldn’t open it!’, before adding that he did break the cork.

He also explained why he had chosen to double-barrel his surname with Nicola’s family name, saying: ‘I kind of wanted to honour both names and when I decided… when we both decided that this was what we wanted to do, I was like, “it would be so cute to have little Peltz Beckhams running around at some point”.’

According to reports, Brooklyn and Nicola’s lavish wedding in Palm Beach, Florida cost an eye-watering $3.5 million, with star-studded guests including Eva Longoria and Serena Williams.

The bride’s billionaire parents Nelson and Claudia Peltz footed the cost, with their estimated $1.6 billion wealth dwarfing the $494 million fortune of Brooklyn’s parents.

During an interview with People earlier this year, Nicola said of being married: ‘I feel like when you’re on a sleepover or a play date and you’re always like, “Oh, can they sleep over again?”

‘And you just are on a never-ending sleepover play date. That’s how we feel. He really is my best friend. I feel like that’.
