Daisy May Cooper’s tragic loss as she breaks down in tears on Loose Women

Daisy May Cooper broke down in tears during an episode of Loose Women this week as she talked about the death of her best friend.

The 38-year-old actress appeared on the ITV show to promote her new book “Hexy B***h”, in which she recounted her experiences with the supernatural and wrote spooky stories about brushes with unexplained paranormal activity. The book was published on Thursday and is the number one best-seller in the Occult Spiritualism section on Amazon.

But during her discussion with Ruth Langsford, Coleen Nolan, Kelly Bryan, and Mariella Frostrup, the 38-year-old also spoke about the death of her late co-star and childhood friend Michael Sleggs, who died in 2019. Michael, who played Slugs in the BBC Three sitcom, had been placed on palliative care due to heart failure. He was only 33 when he passed away.

During her appearance on Loose Women, Daisy said she believes she received a sign from Michael after his passing. She shared: “You know what was so strange, when Michael was dying he was in so much pain, so much agony, he was terrified.

“He phoned me and said, ‘You know Daisy, I’m not scared anymore; I had this kind of angelic spirit come to me and said in seven days that I would have a new body. Which means I’m either going to get better or I’m going to pass away – but I will be free of this pain.’”

She added: “He died within seven days, and I think that is extraordinary. There are so many things that you just can’t explain.” She revealed that before Michael died, he expressed his regret at not being able to attend the Phoenix Festival, which was held near his home, and featured a Guns N’ Roses tribute act playing.

The actress waited for a sign from Michael after he had died that he was “doing alright”, which came early one Saturday morning. Daisy revealed she was lying in bed at 7am with her partner when she heard a noise. “There was this banging on the bedroom door, and I’m like ‘it can’t be the cat,’ like do they have knuckles?” she joked.

She continued: “We both heard it, and we have cameras on the landing and there was nothing, and it turned out that was the day of the Phoenix Festival.” Daisy became emotional as she added: “That’s got to be him.” The Loose Women panel rushed to comfort her and gave her a tissue as she broke down in tears.

Days before Michael died, he shared a message on Facebook that updated his fans on his condition, as he revealed he was in end-of-life care. “Hi friends, as a lot of you are probably aware I’ve spent a lot of time in and out of hospital over the past few months,” he said.

“This last time it was decided I was reaching the end of options so they’ve sent me home on palliative care to live out the remainder of my days at home. No specific time limit has been given but deterioration has been fairly rapid. Anyway as you can imagine this isn’t the ideal way I wished things to go and my family are dealing with a lot of grief.”

  • Late Queen’s ‘genius’ way of making Kate Middleton feel ‘at home’ when she became royal

Late Queen’s ‘genius’ way of making Kate Middleton feel ‘at home’ when she became royal

The late Queen Elizabeth went above and beyond to be absolutely sure that Kate felt ‘at home’ within the House of Windsor after she officially became a member of the Royal Family

When Kate officially joined the Royal Family, she spent a long time properly learning the ropes of her new duties and adjusting to her new position, and she had help from one of the best – the late Queen Elizabeth. By the time Kate and William married in 2011, the late Queen had been on the throne for nearly 60 years and had steered the monarchy through many difficult waters.

The late Queen also had witnessed the difficulties found by outsiders from marrying into the House of Windsor repeatedly by this point in her long reign, which meant that when it came to Kate, the former monarch tried her best to help support her and make her feel “at home” inside the monarchy, an expert has claimed.

Speaking in a new Channel 5 documentary, Kate and the Queen: A Special Relationship, royal correspondent Simon Vigar, explained that the late Queen went above and beyond to ensure that Kate knew the ropes in her new role, and felt comfortable completing her duties.

“The Queen was perfectly aware of how daunting it was for an outsider to join the Royal Family, so they would have had their techniques of making someone look at home,” Vigar explained. Other experts appearing in the documentary felt similarly, with India McTaggart of the Telegraph noting, “Catherine has said the Queen was very supportive of her as she was undertaking her first engagements without William. I think she influenced her by showing her by example.”

Kate spoke about the late Queen accompanying her on her initial solo engagements in a documentary released to mark the former monarch’s 90th birthday back in 2016. With William having obligations elsewhere, Kate had been nervous about attending the visit to Leicester, but with the popular monarch by her side had renewed confidence.

“The most memorable engagement for me I suppose was an away day to Leicester and I went without William so I was rather apprehensive about that. I think there is a real art to walkabouts, everyone teases me in the family that I spend far too long chatting so I think I’ve still got to learn a little bit more and pick up a few more tips I suppose.”

Kate added that the Queen “was very supportive. The fact she took the time to make sure that I was happy and looked after for that particular occasion, which probably in everything that she’s doing is a very small element, which just shows how caring she is, really.”

  • Prince William says Princess Diana would think he was ‘mad’ for latest ambitious move

Prince William says Princess Diana would think he was ‘mad’ for latest ambitious move

EXCLUSIVE: With the release of the new ITV documentary, Prince William: We Can End Homelessness, a top royal expert slams those who criticise the Prince for his impassioned work

Fighting to help the homeless has been a major part of his life’s work, and last week Prince William said, “We shouldn’t be living with homelessness in the 21st century.” This fervent belief was instilled in the prince from a young age, and was the spark behind him launching Homewards in 2023 – a five-year programme that aims to demonstrate that “it is possible to end homelessness – making it rare, brief and unrepeated”.

A new two-part ITV documentary, Prince William: We Can End Homelessness, showcases the work Homewards has done since its launch last year. From watching the programme, it is clear the prince’s motives are sincere and his passions are deeply rooted in the example set by his late mother, Diana, Princess of Wales.

Filmed over 12 months, we first follow William as he visits charities, such as London-based organisation The Passage, to serve Christmas lunch. In between joking with staff, clearing plates and giving out hugs, the prince reflects on his trips to the charity with his late mother.

He admits he was nervous about what to expect, but was ultimately “amazed” at how happy the environment was.

Diana’s influence cannot be understated and it is a recurring theme throughout the whole documentary. We see William talk about how his mother made sure he was aware of life beyond the palace walls – something the 42-year-old has continued to do with his own three children, speaking to them from a young age about the people they see on the streets.

As well as visits to launch Homewards in six target areas of the country – Lambeth, Bournemouth, Newport, Belfast, Aberdeen and Sheffield – the cameras also follow William to private meetings.

Speaking to representatives from Centrepoint, Big Issue, The Passage and Shelter, he hears advice on what Homewards needs to focus on in the wake of the “failed thinking” that has gone before. And while the specialist guidance proves valuable, it is clear that the no-frills advice given from those who have personally experienced homelessness is what will help to achieve Homewards’ goal.

Among the many people who helped to make the documentary is Sabrina Cohen-Hatton. Homeless at just 15, Sabrina – who is now chief fire officer of the West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service – travels back to her native Newport in South Wales to meet people on William’s behalf, and learn what Homewards needs to do to help. There, she encounters Big Issue seller Vincent Lewis, 59, who has been rough sleeping for 10 years.

Despite all he has been through, he makes it clear that he still has hope and believes it is possible to reduce homelessness, but that there is a real need to help people who may be suffering with addictions or other traumas.

Another major theme in the series is the criticism William has come up against as someone from a privileged position “meddling” in matters of policy. Although he comes with no other agenda than to help people, the accusations anger a leading royal expert.

“I utterly despair of the people who attack someone for trying to do good,” former BBC royal correspondent Jennie Bond tells OK!

“What do they expect William to do? Sit in a palace twiddling his thumbs and ringing a bell for servants? He knows that he was born into a position of enormous wealth and several homes. But, as he says, what is the point of his existence if he doesn’t use that privilege and that platform to try to do what he can to help others?”

Viewers will also hear about the homelessness journeys of TV personality Gail Porter and former footballer Fara Williams, and see them meet young girls who are going through similar circumstances, including Lainey from North London.

After spending two and a half years on the streets, Lainey found her way to the Single Homeless Project. She talks about the steps she has taken to overcome homelessness, including taking part in Pret A Manger’s Rising Stars programme – which supports homeless people and helps them get jobs in Pret stores.

One year in, and the Homewards project is clearly making progress. While William admits that he believes his mother would have thought he was “mad” to launch it, Jennie praises his ambition.

“Towards the end of this decade, we will be able to see whether the idea is working. It is a considered, practical blueprint for the future. Prince William’s ambition, which is a laudable one, is to prevent people ever becoming homeless. It’s a hugely impressive aim.”

Saturday Kitchen fans in uproar over ‘revealing’ outfit worn by guest chef on BBC show

Saturday Kitchen fans have slammed the show for having a guest on who wore a ‘revealing’ outfit while preparing meal for the BBC show amid upset over wardrobe choice of guest

Saturday Kitchen fans inundated social media over the wardrobe choice of a guest chef on the BBC show.

Kate Carter-Larg’s outfit was called into question as viewers felt it was “too revealing for a cooking segment.” Kate was seen wearing a strapless top along with a pair of denim jeans, teamed with a leather belt. But her choice of outfit sparked a discussion among a number of viewers who felt it was inappropriate.

Kate is the owner of St Andrews takeaway The Cheesy Toast Shack. Taking to X , one viewer said: “She changed into that top to cook?!” Another person added: “I can’t concentrate on the show for worrying about her top falling down. She’s pulling and tugging it as it keeps slipping.”

Meanwhile a third said: “I know… inappropriate dress code.” A fourth added: “Wardrobe issues can definitely take attention away from the show itself. Hopefully it gets sorted out quickly so everyone, including her, can feel more at ease.”

This comes after the BBC show’s viewers slammed singer Lulu for being the “most irritating guest ever.” Lulu was joined by Matt Tebbutt and Georgina Hayden, Genevieve Taylor and Jason Atherton. But the 73 year old singer seemed to ruffle feathers as she apparently constantly referenced her age and how he grandchildren kept her trendy.

She also had a lot to say about the seasoning by Matt. Taking to X, one person wrote: “Jsus wept. Lulu is THE most insufferable annoying person to watch ever. @SaturdayKitchen’; They wrote: ‘I thought lulu on Saturday kitchen was very loud and obnoxious and why did she feel the need to keep mentioning her age?”

Another said: “Lulu on Saturday Kitchen and being absolutely f*****g insufferable as usual” Meanwhile a third said: “Saturday kitchen Lulu is 75 Just in case she didn’t mention it. Scotland doesn’t like her, just like Sheena Easton. Fake as feck.” And another said: “I know Saturday Kitchen is on every week but they can’t have run out of guests already that they have to have Lulu on?”

“Lulu is responsible for the most cringey Saturday morning I’ve had for quite some time. SHE’S 75 YOU KNOW, AND IT’S ALL ABOUT THE MUSIC #SaturdayKitchen,” said another. But it didn’t stop there. Another said: “Of all the guests in all the world … why just why? #SaturdayKitchen.” And following in from that a user of the social media account added: “Do you know how old I am? Come on, guess how old I am? I bet you can’t guess how old I am’ #saturdaykitchen.”

Strictly Come Dancing results leak yet again but this time fans have jaw-dropping response

As the cast and crew prepare to say goodbye to the fifth couple to leave Strictly Come Dancing, fans have responded to the leaking of the latest result ahead of it airing on TV

Strictly Come Dancing viewers have been left stunned by the latest dance off result – which has, like clockwork, leaked early, only this time – in a jaw-dropping turn of events – some fans were happy with the choice.

The long-running BBC dance show is currently in it’s 22nd season – having been on the air now for an impressive 20 years. Fans of Strictly will be well aware that both the Saturday night live show and Sunday night result show both record on Saturday night.

There is then an almost 24 hour wait for viewers to find out which pair of celebrities and their dance partners have been deemed bottoms of the week and then forced into a tense dance off. The failure of the two is then booted from the show for good – with the result airing on BBC One on Sunday night.

But for years now, a persistent mole has leaked the result of the dance off hours before it has aired after witnessing the result during real time as the Sunday night show records immediately after the Saturday night live show airs. As regular as a traffic warden stepping outside to ruin lives at the beginning of their working week, the mole has ruined the result show for fans once again.

The spoil sport has shared the result via a website and social media, and fans have been left stunned by the couples that were told they had to dance for their glitterball lives. And what’s more, they are stunned by the outcome.

While the Mirror has chosen not to share the result to avoid ruining the result for the most devout Strictly fans, the fan reaction this week wasn’t one of total devastation, with one person writing on X, formerly Twitter : “Just seen the Strictly spoiler. Thank gosh. Was really worried!” Another person echoed: “The strictly spoiler has me going to bed happy!! Right person left in my opinion.”

However, not everyone was happy, with another social media user tweeting: “Devastated at the spoiler tonight. They had so much more to give and improved quite a bit throughout the competition so far #Strictly.” Someone else chimed in: “Strictly spoiler has me feeling very sad right now.”

As of Saturday night, 11 celebrities and their dance partners remained in the competition as the battle for glory nears the halfway point. Olympic swimmer Tom Dean and his dance partner Nadiya Bychkova suffered the humiliation of being the first couple of the 2024 season to be voted off the show after they lost the dance off at the end of September.

They were soon followed by iconic singer Toyah Willcox and her dance partner Neil Jones. There was disappointment as DIY SOS hunk Nick Knowles became the third star to be voted off the show as he had bravely battled through injury to try to keep his place in the contest. He was shown the door alongside his dance partner Luba Mushtuk in mid-October.

England footballer turned pundit Paul Merson was the fourth star to be voted off along with his partner Karen Hauer. So far, one of the couples to beat in the 2024 season appears to be EastEnders star Jamie Borthwick and his dance partner Michelle Tsiakkas as they have routinely scored deep into the 30s following the judges comments.

Rebekah Vardy’s vengeful reason to watch Coleen Rooney on I’m A Celebrity uncovered

Rebekah Vardy and Coleen Rooney are now arch rivals after their explosive Wagatha Christie court case – but Becky has a valid reason to want to watch her rival on ITV’s reality show

Rebekah Vardy might be the arch rival of Coleen Rooney but she has confessed she will tune in to I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! to watch the fellow WAG follow in her footsteps.

The 42-year-old mum-of-five is married to footballer Jamie Vardy, 37, and sensationally fell out with 38-year-old Coleen – who is married to 39-year-old Wayne Rooney – in 2019 when she accused her of leaking stories about her to the press. The ladies engaged in a bitter court battle that saw their once close friendship become reduced to ash.

This year, it has been revealed that Coleen will participate in ITV’s long-running reality show, I’m A Celeb, seven years after Becky participated on the show. During her time in the jungle, Becky endured a range of revolting tasks and was the third star to get eliminated from the popularity contest – which was ultimately won by Made In Chelsea star Georgia Toffolo.

With just weeks to go before the 2024 season of I’m A Celeb begins, Becky has reportedly planned to tune in to watch the series – as have her lawyers. A report has claimed she thinks Coleen is a hypocrite for signing up to the show – and could put herself at risk of legal ramifications if she speaks about their bitter trial or makes slanderous comments about Rebekah.

A source told The Sun: “Coleen was banging on during the trial, claiming she was such a private person, and now she’s going on one of the most watched shows on television. She’s just doing what Becky has already done.” The source then claims: “Becky hopes that she does talk about Wagatha Christie, because it will be a major payday for her.” The Mirror has contacted representatives of both Rebekah and Coleen for comment.

Reality show fans were stunned earlier this month when it was reported Coleen had signed up to be a contestant on the 2024 season of I’m A Celeb. While her salary was not revealed, reports claimed she would become the highest paid star to ever feature on the show – earning more than politician Nigel Farage who was paid a reported £1.5 million to appear on the show last year.

A source told The Sun on Sunday at the time: “I’m A Celeb bosses have pulled off a huge coup getting Coleen for the jungle this year and the team are thrilled to have her on board.

“Coleen has a huge fanbase and she won massive plaudits for her classy handling of the Wagatha Christie case. She’s excited to show fans a different side to her and prove she can survive without her creature comforts.” When Becky appeared on the show in 2017, she was reportedly paid £100,000 for her time in the jungle.

Loose Women star Denise Welch’s three word warning after being scammed for thousands

Denise Welch has opened up about how she was scammed of thousands of pounds after making a huge error – and is warning others not to do the same

Denise Welch has been scammed of thousands of pounds after making a huge error – and is warning others not to do the same.

The Loose Women star has opened up about being scammed by a phone call, where she lost £2000 when she picked up the phone convinced she was talking to the Barclays fraud squad – but it was actually an impersonator.

Denise appeared on Good Morning Britain today, where she chatted to hosts Ranvir Singh and Ed Balls about her own experiences, hoping that it could help others and stop them going through something similar.

When asked what one thing people should have in their minds if they’re worried about this happening to them, Denise said: “In my opinion, do not give your information to anybody unless you can somehow be 100% sure. Ring them back. Anybody that’s calling you, even though you may have spoken to that person before, say, do you know something? You’ve called me.”

Recalling what happened, Denise explained she was busy at the time she got the phone call and panicked.

She added: “It was a few years ago, it was pre pandemic, and I was rehearsing a show – Calendar Girls: The Musical. We weren’t supposed to look at our phones or take personal phone calls. We all have a sneaky look. And there was Barclays.

“I went out, took the phone call and they said, it’s the fraud squad. They said there was some fraudulent activity going on with your card, and we want to put a stop to it. And I had absolutely zero doubt that I was talking to the fraud department from my bank because it had come up under the headline of Barclays that I had put into my phone.”

Revealing how she was taken in by the man, she admitted it wasn’t until the fifth call when she made the mistake.

She explained: “I was talking to this chap called Michael. I remember him, he was obviously very personable. And I went through, over a series of about four phone calls, all of the information you are duly expected to give. It was my full name, my date of birth, my address and postcode and my mother’s maiden name – again, didn’t hesitate because it said Barclays.

“So over about four phone calls, Michael had become my best friend. He said it was taking a long time to do this because this was a fraud that was potentially going to be bigger than they thought. This is where anybody watching this will be shouting, well, that’s on you. How stupid of you. They then said, on about the fifth phone call, we’re going to have to ask for your four digit pin.”

“Now, even I know that you don’t give your pin away, but because I was talking to the fraud department at Barclays, I did. And the next day, I mentioned this to my husband, who went absolutely spare,” she recalled.

“I have never been smothered in chocolate, saying that we are lucky to get pond cream in the chemist in my day.”

Loose Women’s Denise Welch unrecognisable with long hair as fans say ‘who is she’

The Loose Women panel were chatting about accents when Denise Welch was shown a clip of herself in her early twenties, as she compared herself to Antiques Roadshow star Fiona Bruce

Loose Women’s Denise Welch caused a stir on the ITV daytime show this week as she looked completely unrecognisable.

On Monday’s instalment of the programme (July 29), Denise was chatting about accents and how she’s always criticised for sounding “posh” rather than having a Geordie accent. She insisted that despite being from the North East, she’s never had the strong accent.

To prove her point, Denise insisted show bosses show a clip of her aged just 23 – speaking in a very similar way to how she sounds currently, but looking completely different. Denise was presenting a segment at the time, with long blonde curls eased into an elegant up-do atop her head.

She went on to say: “I’ve found a clip, which I think we’ve got, of me when I was 23 where I sound more like bloomin’ Fiona Bruce than I do like Gazza.”

In the clip, Denise told viewers in a very posh accent: “Local radio is one of the most enduring media institutions this country has. All over the nation, an endless flow of news, events, weather, and music streams out and much more.

‘Disappointed’ Strictly Come Dancing fans blast ‘terrible’ Halloween week decision

Strictly Come Dancing 2024 fans were left questioning the BBC series’ latest theme, with many left annoyed at the song choices as the remaining couples took to the dance floor

Not all Strictly Come Dancing viewers were enjoying the show on Saturday night, as Halloween week arrived.

As the pairings and judges dressed in spooky outfits and performed Halloween themed routines, some fans were left questioning “terrible” decisions. As the couples all performed, it was quickly apparent that not all of the songs matched the theme.

While the sets and the costumes matched the Halloween memo, some of the songs were questionable. From Staying Alive by The Bee Gees and Dancing in the Moonlight by Toploader, to Frank Sinatra’s That’s Life, some fans were left calling out the song choices.

Many viewers said it “didn’t feel like Halloween at all” as they all repeated how the songs did not match the theme. One viewer posted online: “Doesn’t even feel like Halloween week on #Strictly it’s my fav too. So disappointed.”

Another said: “Not sure that song fits the theme tbh,” as a third said: “These song choices are terrible for a Halloween special not gonna lie.” A fourth fan wrote: “Ah that classic Halloween song, Canned Heat by Jamiroquai.”

The comments kept on coming too, with one reading: “And now they think That’s Life is a #Halloween song as well!” Another said: “All these well known Halloween songs.”

A further comment read: “Is it just me or are these songs not very “Halloween-esque”? Where are the Jives to Monster Mash.” Halloween drama aside, Chris McCausland had a plea for the judges, warning them to ‘be nice’ amid fears he could leave the BBC series this weekend.

The comedian took to the dance floor for a Halloween themed performance with his pro dancer Dianne Buswell. But after his routine, he immediately had a warning for the judges amid fears from himself and viewers he could be next to leave the show.

Telling the judges to “be nice”, he warned them amid fans noticing he was in the “death slot”. With the pair dancing first out of all the pairings, viewers believed their performance position left them at risk of being in the dance-off on Sunday.

Chris himself suggested he and Dianne were at risk due to their chosen dance, with them performing the Samba. Chris pointed out that two of the axed contestants performed a Samba before they were voted off the series.

Fears aside, Chris was on hand to back his fellow stars as he warned the judges: “You lot tonight be nice to everybody, or I am gonna eat your brains,” remaining in character. Judge Motsi Mabuse quipped back: “I’m scared,” as Craig Revel Horwood also mocked the warning.
