MTV EMAs 2024: Jedward pay emotional tribute to fellow X Factor star Liam Payne

Former X Factor contestants Jedward were among the guests at the MTV EMAs 2024 on Sunday, where they spoke on the red carpet about the late One Direction member Liam Payne

Former X Factor contestants Jedward spoke about the late Liam Payne whilst at the MTV Europe Music Awards.

The duo, 33, were at the awards ceremony – known as the MTV EMAs – at Co-op Live in Manchester together on Sunday. The pair shared that they anticipated it to be an emotional evening due to rumours of a tribute to Liam, as reported by the Manchester Evening News (M.E.N.)

It was announced last month that Liam – known for having been in One Direction – passed away, aged 31, after falling from a balcony of hotel in Argentina. Rita Ora, 33 – who is hosting the MTV EMAs for the third consecutive year – had previously dueted with him on the song For You, released in 2018. Following the news of his passing, she was visibly emotional during a performance last month and remembered him as ‘the kindest soul’.

Whilst speaking to the M.E.N on the red carpet of the awards ceremony, John Grimes and Edward Grimes – known collectively as Jedward – said: “Tonight will be upsetting for Rita Ora because she did a song with Liam. There is going to be a tribute, so I think there will be a lot of tears.” They added: “The fact that we all came from the same show… it’s like we all went to school together. You can’t describe the experience.”

Recalling their reaction to the news of his death, they said: “When we heard the news, everything dropped. We couldn’t sleep that night. We met him in 2017. That was the last EMA’s we were at and honestly, who would’ve thought?”

Liam had auditioned for the X Factor initially in 2008 but he didn’t make it to the live shows that year. He however later returned in 2010 and was put into One Direction, who ended up placing third in the final that year. Jedward had competed on the ITV singing contest in 2009 and placed fifth.

Manchester has welcomed a host of acts to the city for the MTV EMAs this weekend. The event has been described as one of the biggest TV broadcasts across Europe outside of the Eurovision Song Contest. It’s set to feature performances from the likes of Raye, Pet Shop Boys, Le Sserafim, Shawn Mendes and Benson Boone. Meanwhile, a host of celebrities are expected to make appearances to present awards.

Paying tribute to Liam last month, Rita wrote on Instagram: “I’m devastated. He had the kindest soul. I will never forget. I loved working with him mso much – he was just such a joy to be around on and off stage. This tragic news breaks my heart. Sending all my love and prayers to his family and loved ones. Our song For You takes on a whole new meaning for me now. R.I.P”

Priti Patel tied in knots by BBC’s Laura Kuenssberg on past Donald Trump comments

Shadow Foreign Secretary Priti Patel was called out for digging up old comments Labour politicians had made about Donald Trump but seemingly not wanting to confront her own words

Dame Priti Patel was tied in knots after being grilled about her past comments appearing to accuse Donald Trump of stoking violence ahead of the January 6 insurrection.

The former Home Secretary, who has been appointed Kemi Badenoch’s Shadow Foreign Secretary, was called out for digging up old comments from Labour politicians but seemingly not wanting to confront her own words. Dame Priti told Laura Kuenssberg that there was “no point fast forwarding now and taking quotes into the modern context” despite hitting out at Foreign Secretary David Lammy’s previous comments about President-elect Mr Trump.

In a tense exchange, the BBC presenter told the Tory politician: “You said several times that you think this government has to work really, really hard to make to make good, maybe to make peace, with Donald Trump in order to move forward. I just wonder, after the Capitol riots back on January 6… you yourself said that Donald Trump’s comments directly led to violence, and he did very little to deescalate the situation. Do you want to apologise to him for saying that, as you’re urging Labour politicians to do?”

Dame Priti said the 2021 insurrection was “a major, major situation”. “I was Home Secretary at the time then and we were obviously working with our US counterparts on security issues. No one wants to see violence after elections,” she said.

After being repeatedly pressed on whether she stood by the comments, she said: “I think those comments, in light of what happened, were absolutely right and fair and relevant. The crucial thing right now, Laura, is that you’ve asked me about previous comments, and previous comments of our chief diplomat [Mr Lammy] were much more personal – much more personal – and undiplomatic to the President-elect of the United States.

BBC presenter Laura Kuenssberg grilled Dame Priti Patel on whether she stood by her old comments about Donald Trump
BBC presenter Laura Kuenssberg grilled Dame Priti Patel on whether she stood by her old comments about Donald Trump
“And let me just add one other thing, our relationships and I have worked with the previous Trump administration, I’ve had a very strong working relationship on security issues, law enforcement issues… That relationship is built on trust and respect. This government, I suspect will have to work that much harder to regain trust and respect.”

Asked whether she still held that view that Mr Trump was, in that moment, a threat to democracy, Dame Priti said: “At that particular time… Let me just put this into context. There’s no point fast forwarding now and taking quotes into the modern context.”

Mr Lammy has dismissed comments he made branding Mr Trump “deluded, dishonest, xenophobic, narcissistic” as “old news” – and he said the pair got on well at a recent dinner. “You will struggle to find any politician. And that’s not just Labour politicians, because the last Foreign Secretary, David Cameron, had some pretty ripe things to say about Donald Trump,” the Foreign Secretary told BBC Newscast on Thursday.

  • Exclusive: Denise Welch’s secret battle with numbers that left her ‘throwing up’ amid depression fight

Exclusive: Denise Welch’s secret battle with numbers that left her ‘throwing up’ amid depression fight

Denise Welch has spoken about her secret battle with numbers, which led to her getting into financial difficulties – but she’s now speaking out about it to help others

Denise Welch, beloved Loose Women panellist, mental health advocate and acclaimed actress, has publicly battled many life challenges – from depression to alcohol addiction. Thankfully, she overcame these struggles years ago with the support of her husband, artist Lincoln Townley. However, one battle Denise hasn’t extensively discussed is her secret struggle with numbers, which led to financial difficulties.

Now, as an ambassador for National Numeracy, Denise is tackling this issue head-on and sharing her journey, says OK!. And she wants people to know two things: struggling doesn’t make you “thick”, and help is available. The candid 66 year old star, who shares sons Louis, 23, an actor, and The 1975 frontman Matty, 35, with ex-husband and fellow actor Tim Healy, is known for her brutal honesty. Happily, she tells us, she’s in a great place right now, both professionally and personally.

The star always ignored bills – and got herself into financial hot waterAfter years of mental health struggles culminating in a breakdown in 2019, she’s never felt better. , reports OK!. “If I could bottle how I’m feeling right now, I’d be a billionaire,” she chuckles, speaking to us from her Loose Women dressing room at ITV. “I always knew the origin of my illness was hormonal, probably triggered by childbirth – it took 20 years to get anyone to accept that. I’ve been shouting from the rooftops about our mental health since 1991.”

“In 2019, I had what we used to call a ‘breakdown’ – I get tingling in my hands, the colour drains from my life, I can feel it coming on. And I decided for the first time to chronicle that episode, in real time. I did just that for three days and when I came out of bed days later, it had gone viral. I’d even been on News At 10. It resonated.”

That incident gave rise to Denise’s book, The Unwelcome Visitor, and she’s since felt a significant shift, which she thinks may be connected to becoming post-menopausal. “I haven’t had an episode since. I’ll never, ever say it’s ‘gone’. All I know is for the first time in 35 years, I don’t wake up frightened of my illness. Something righted itself. I don’t wake up with a subconscious dread, the constant narrative, ‘Do I feel OK? S**t, it’s dark today, how’s that going to affect me…’ That’s gone.”

Denise is also clearly smitten with her hubby of more than a decade, Lincoln. She gushes that despite sounding “corny”, at 51, he’s the “bedrock” of her world. “I feel so fortunate to have met him later in life. He’s my best friend, we make each other laugh and we’ve got each other’s backs. The only thing I can thank alcohol for is that we met each other in a club late at night.”

Denise Welch has spoken up about the challenges she and her partner Lincoln Townley have faced, including overcoming negative media scrutiny and the loss of her mother. “We overcame all the negative press we got, the loss of my mother early on in our relationship could have set me back drinking again, but with the strength of Lincoln it didn’t. We live a life we love. Life is good. I’m filming two new TV shows at the minute. I have a beautiful family, including my grandson. Lincoln and I are each other’s anchors.”

Denise gushes with pride when talking about her children’s professional strides, mentioning Louis stepping into the role for the Stranger Things West End play and Matty finding success as The 1975’s frontman whilst working on his sixth album. She reflects, “Yes, Matty’s taking his foot off the gas of touring for a couple of years,” and shares her joy of spending time in LA, where he resides: “He’s based in LA, which is great as we love LA.”

As for being a grandmother to baby Theo, Denise can’t help but express her deep affection: “Theo is just this joyful child who we are totally besotted with. You don’t expect the outpouring of love you’ll feel for a grandchild. This tiny little dot who’s only been around for a year has changed our lives and I’ve never seen anything like how Lincoln is with him. When you’re a blended family, you have to share the little one out quite a lot, so it’s like, ‘We’ll have him! ‘”.

When she’s not doting on her grandson, Denise is still flexing her acting muscles and sharing her candid views on Loose Women. What keeps her coming back to the show? It’s the love and respect she receives from the team, according to Denise. She also feels like she’s matured a lot while being on-air. ” Loose Women has honestly seen me through the good, the bad and the very ugly, and now the good again. I’m very grateful for the platform it’s given me. Not many older women have a voice – this is one of the only shows in the country which reveres them. We have women from 24 to 84 – where else do you get that range of opinion and life experience? ” Denise revealed.

In addition to working on two hush-hush TV projects, former Corrie star Denise has been unveiled as the new ambassador for National Numeracy – a cause that resonates with her, having struggled with numbers all her life. The charity reached out to Denise after watching her discuss the issue on Loose Women. “I’m no authority, but I just share my own experience,” she admits. “I’ve always been terrified of maths and numbers. It’s plagued my life, my normal life. It renders me fearful to this day and got me into very sticky situations with money. I feel very strongly about National Numeracy trying to take the ‘fear’ out of maths, so if I can help by sharing my story, I will.”

Denise’s struggles began in the classroom. As a child, she was a “speed reading champion” with a passion for English, but maths terrified her. She recalls that seeing double maths on her timetable would make her “go and vomit in the toilets, just at the thought of it”. Denise also had an unkind teacher who, she says, would “prey on those who were vulnerable”.

“I hated it. My dad found numbers easy, so he wasn’t forceful, but I remember him saying, ‘Denise, if X equals Z, how can you not see? ‘ It felt like someone speaking in a foreign language. But these things weren’t discussed back then. I lost a lovely job at a pub when I was 18 because we had to do mental maths. They loved me, but I took too long at the till, so they had to let me go.”

As she grew older and entered the world of showbiz, Denise would only appear on quiz shows where she wouldn’t be asked anything mathematical. Her fear of numbers started to impact her life. “There were mortgages, taxes, bills. I got myself into trouble early in my career, by burying my head in the sand.” She acknowledges her fortune in having Lincoln, who excels in the area she struggles with, but confesses to previous feelings of shame. However, she’s adamant that support is available for those facing similar challenges.

“Contact National Numeracy and they’ll help you with basic skills,” she advises. “Don’t be ashamed if you’re no good with numbers, because believe me, it ain’t just you! And it doesn’t mean you’re not incredibly clever, which is what I used to think. Ask for help, because those bills won’t go away, they’ll just pile up.” Now juggling a successful career and a happy home life, Denise has conquered her personal “elephant in the room” – her past embarrassment. Beaming with joy, she shares, “I’m happy. Life is good! ” and reflects, “Isn’t that all anyone can ask for?”.

ITV Loose Women chaos as Linda Robson told off live on air over crude tattoo admission

The Loose Women panel were discussing Strictly’s Shirley Ballas’ recent reported break up when the conversation took a turn – with Linda Robson chiming in with crude comment

Linda Robson was issued a warning by host Christine Lampard after airing a crude tattoo confession live on the show.

The 66-year-old was joined on the programme by Nadia Sawalha and Frankie Bridge, and Christine led the conversation as they delved into recent reports that Strictly Come Dancing star Shirley Balls had called time on her six-year relationship with Danny Taylor.

They were chatting about whether breakups were harder to deal with as people got older when a clip of Shirley on The Masked Singer UK was shown. In the candid snippet, the BBC head judge confessed to having her boyfriend’s name tattooed on her bottom.

After watching the VT, Christine wanted to know her co-star’s thoughts on body art, especially the idea of a person’s name being inked onto their own flesh.

The Birds Of A Feather star had just been addressing her marriage breakdown to husband Mark, whom she’d been married to for 34 years, explaining to ITV viewers that they simply realised “they had nothing in common.”

After declaring she “didn’t want to get jiggy-jiggy with anyone” now that her marriage had ended and that romance was definitely off the cards as far as she was concerned, Linda went on to share her own thoughts on tattoos.

Surprising everyone, the TV legend explained she would consider having artwork on her backside. She jested: “If I were to have a tattoo on my bottom it would be ‘no entry’.”

Her shocking comment caused an eruption of laughter within the studio, as all parties began to scramble to understand whether she’d said something that may warrant an apology.

After possibly receiving a nudge from producers via their earpieces, Nadia chimed in, saying, “I think you’re allowed to say that. You are allowed.” Christine disagreed, saying, “In the context of the conversation…”

    Frankie Bridge on Loose Women
Frankie Bridge opened up about her tattooFrankie blurted, “So where do we go from here, Christine? ” as Nadia held her head in her hands. Despite the confusion and chaos on set, they decided to move forward without a whisper of “sorry,” as attention turned to Frankie for her own views about the subject.

Frankie went on to reveal that she’d left her mum and dad unimpressed after having the top of her back inked. The Saturdays Singer knew this would cause a stir, telling the panel, “My parents hate tattoos.”

However, despite knowing friction would be had, Frankie decided to go ahead with a sweet tribute to her grandmother. When growing up as a child, the songstress explained that her nan would always call her “sunshine ‘n’ showers,” and that was the exact phrase she had inked onto her body.

The rest of the panel agreed it was a “lovely heartfelt gesture,” despite not everyone agreeing on body art.

It comes after the programme headed over to the Loose Women studio where Coleen Nolan was informing people what was coming up on their show later on.

She said: “Dawn French has done it, would you hang a naked picture of yourself up? We shall be revealed all next.”

As the studio audience seemed to give a sound of interest at the upcoming raunchy topic, Alison decided to share a confession.

“Then in the future, around 12-18 months, during the training he will learn to do things specifically for autistic people.”

Loose Women’s Linda Robson breaks silence on Jane Moore’s ITV I’m A Celeb stint

Linda Robson is backing her Loose Women co-star Jane Moore to win I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! because she won’t be fazed by the jungle

Linda Robson has broken her silence after it emerged Jane Moore will be appearing on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!

The actress and broadcaster is confident that Jane will tackle every challenge in the jungle with ease. The Birds of a Feather star is certain that 62-year-old Jane has what it takes to be crowned Queen of the Jungle, thanks to her unflappable nature and determination.

Speaking at the recent London Lifestyle Awards, the Loose Women star gushed: “Jane will be Queen of the Jungle, I’m telling you now. Jane Moore will do every challenge and she won’t bat an eyelid. She’s definitely gonna be a winner.” Having shared the Loose Women panel with Jane for over a decade, Linda, who herself took part in the reality show in 2012 and came ninth, knows the ins and outs of the jungle experience.

She stressed that there are no hidden luxuries for the stars on the show; if they fail their tasks, it’s nothing but rice, beans, and water. Reflecting on her own stint, Linda remarked: “I did it in 2012. It’s like a proper detox, you don’t even get a cup of tea or anything. It was amazing honestly,” she told Simon Gross.

Journalist and broadcaster Jane is set to be joined in the jungle by McFly’s Danny Jones, former Strictly Come Dancing professional Oti Mabuse, N-Dubz singer Tulisa Contostavlos, Coleen Rooney – the wife of former England footballer Wayne Rooney, Coronation Street actor Alan Halsall, controversial TikTok star GK Barry, boxer Barry McGuigan, Mick McCarthy, Harry Clark, Richard Arnold and Olympian Max Whitlock.

The forthcoming series, once again hosted by Geordie duo Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly, launches on November 17. But while the series is set to return with a string of big names – not everybody is paid the same amount for their time in the jungle. This year ITV bosses are said to have splashed a huge amount of cash to get Coleen Rooney on board. The WAG is said to have negotiated a fee in excess of £1.5million. The amount is more than Nigel Farage demanded last year – and notably around 15 times higher than what rival Rebekah Vardy picked up in 2017.

The pay cheque makes Coleen one of I’m A Celeb’s highest paid stars ever. With the biggest cheque cut a reported £1.5 million, to the lowest at £13,000. But it’s not just Farage who walked away with a heft pay cheque after his stint on the show. Former Deal or No Deal host Noel Edmonds pocketed a hefty £600,000.

Noel entered the jungle in 2018 for a reported fee of a whopping £600,000. Despite demanding a huge fee and being someone the production team had been chasing for years, the TV star spent very little time on the show and was the first person to be voted off. Three very different celebs, Boy George, Harry Redknapp, and Caitlyn Jenner, reportedly all walked out of the jungle with a cool £500,000. Culture Club singer Boy George ended up in eighth place during his stint in 2022. Caitlyn Jenner faired slightly better, coming in at sixth place during her time in 2019, but it was football legend Harry Redknapp who really earned his keep, coming in first and winning the nation’s hearts.

Elsewhere, Conservative supporter and Made In Chelsea star Georgia Toffolo is said to have been paid just £13,000 in 2017. Meanwhile, Hollyoaks actor Malique Thompson-Dwyer walked away with £15,000. The star went into the show in 2018 and was reportedly paid £15,000 to appear. Unfortunately, the Prince McQueen star was the second person to be voted out of the jungle.

  • BBC Strictly Come Dancing’s Tess Daly hits back at judge Craig Revel Horwood’s Tasha jibe

BBC Strictly Come Dancing’s Tess Daly hits back at judge Craig Revel Horwood’s Tasha jibe

Strictly Come Dancing 2024 host Tess Daly was quick to silence judge Craig Revel Horwood’s claims about Tasha Ghouri and Aljaž Škorjanec’s latest performance on the BBC series

Tess Daily hit back at Strictly Come Dancing judge Craig Revel Horwood on Saturday night, jumping to one star’s defence.

Craig had told hopefuls Tasha Ghouri and Aljaž Škorjanec that there was “something missing” in their latest performance, the Quickstep, as he critiqued their routine. The pair were visibly shocked by the negative feedback, thrilled with how it went.

As Craig went against his fellow judges and told them it wasn’t his cup of tea, Tess ended up interjecting with her hand in there, before turning away from Craig. The show presenter pulled a face as she hit back at his comments, telling Tasha and Aljaž to basically ignore what he was saying.

As Craig made his comments, with his co-judges not in agreement, there were boos from the crowd. Tess then put her hand in the air and hit back at what he had to say, telling the pair: “I’m not sure that everyone agrees with him in here…” pulling a face as she said it.

Aljaž then took the blame for what Craig said, declaring: “That’s my fault, that is my fault.” Viewers were in agreement with Tess, with many calling out Craig’s view on the performance.

One fan posted on X: “Aljaz looks so upset at Craig’s remarks. We’re all hugging you,” as another said: “Ooo SHUSH CRAIG.” A third added: “CRAIG MAKING EXCUSES NOT TO GIVE HER A TEN,” as a fourth wrote: “Oh give over Craig.”

Strictly Come Dancing 2024 host Tess Daly was quick to silence judge Craig Revel Horwood’s claims about Tasha Ghouri and Aljaž Škorjanec
It comes as pro dancer Johannes Radebe was forced to address speculation that he’s preparing to quit the show at the end of the latest series. Johannes, 37, has become a fan favourite on the BBC show since joining the line-up of dancers in 2018.

He’s partnered with Gladiators star Montell Douglas, 38, this year and they’re among the remaining pairs in the competition. Earlier this week, there were reports that Johannes is planning to leave Strictly next year to pursue other opportunities.

Johannes has now addressed the speculation in a post on Instagram, with him dismissing the suggestion that he’s set to leave the BBC show. Alongside a screenshot of an article referencing the speculation, he wrote to his followers: “I’m not going nowhere! The story isnt true – I love @bbcstrictly and I want to do this beautiful show for as long as they want me – and the body will allow. I have Kinky Boots and other work in the pipeline yes but nothing will take me away. Love you all Jojo Xx.”

It comes after a source told the Sun: “Johannes is hugely loved on the show and there isn’t an atom of bad feeling about him leaving. Both he and the show’s bosses realise he is overwhelmed with work as a result of his soaring popularity and wish him all the best. But nobody can ever get so big that they continually take up too much limelight – the star of the show must always be the show itself.”

The source went on to explain that the door is expected to be left open for Johannes to return in the future and claimed that he has “too much to juggle” alongside Strictly. They said that it isn’t just the announced projects he’s working on as there are “other opportunities in the pipeline too”.

Exclusive: Prince Harry’s coded gesture speaks volumes on state of relationship with Meghan Markle

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have appeared together in a new video message – the first time they’ve been seen together publicly in months. And one expert noted Harry’s very telling gesture towards his wife, Meghan

Prince Harry performed a very subtle gesture to Meghan Markle in their new video message that gave a glimpse into their relationship, according to an expert.

The clip shows the Sussexes in their first public appearance together in months, delivering a message that was played to a United Nations conference in Colombia on ending violence against children. The pair discuss the importance of prioritising children’s safety while they are online – a cause that they have been heavily championing.

It is the first time they have been seen side by side since they made a string of telling solo appearances, despite Meghan once describing her and Harry as like “salt and pepper” as they always “move together”. According to a source close to the couple, the reason for the solo appearance is down to a shift in their ventures.

And body language expert Judi James noted Harry in a very particular gesture towards the end of the clip. She told the Mirror: “The projected message from their body language here is one of a very regal presence as well as unity. The couple stand formally, straight on to the camera and with no touch rituals at the start as Meghan even uses the royal ‘My husband and I’ line.

“Their outfits are the same sombre navy jackets while Harry adopts a military pose with his hands clasped behind his back, in keeping with the Remembrance theme of the poppies in their lapels. Meghan starts with her hands clasped in front before mirroring her husband by moving the clasp to behind her back in a show of like-minded purpose and thinking.

“Harry stays firmly in authoritative, serious mode for his part of the speech, unsmiling but using small cocking gestures of his head to motivate his audience. Meghan’s approach is softer and she is the one throwing frequent glances of affection and support at Harry as he speaks to suggest admiration and encouragement.

“There is even what looks like a performed signal of togetherness when Harry, towards the end of the video, suddenly puts his arm out around Meghan’s back, not in a tactile hug as there is a gap between their torsos, but in what looks like a desire to show them as a bonded double act.”

In the clip, Harry says: “We are at a crossroads”, adding: “The urgency to reassess and redefine our approach to protecting children has become increasingly evident. While the necessity has always been apparent, it’s now time to translate that awareness into meaningful action.”

Meghan gazes at her husband while he talks before she explains: “My husband and I recognise that today’s reality is marked by greater connectivity and advanced technology, which, of course, has many positives. However, it also compels us to better understand how digital violence against children is manifesting itself in this age.”

“At the Archewell Foundation, we engage with young people, families and experts worldwide, learning about how every aspect of a child’s life — from their livelihood to their physical and mental well-being — now operates within an online economy that has both the power to shape and misshape our connections.”

Exclusive: Adele in talks for huge homecoming gigs at Premier League stadium

Hello singer Adele has been offered to perform a string of shows at a huge football stadium before she steps back from the limelight

Adele is in talks for a series of mammoth concerts next year at the home of her beloved Spurs before she takes a break from performing.

We can reveal the 36-year-old singer has had a huge offer to step out on stage at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium for several shows in 2025. It’s just down the road from where she grew up with her mother Penny in north London and holds a special place in her heart as a Spurs fan.

It would be the perfect place to bow out ahead of her upcoming hiatus. Insiders say the dates could earn Adele up to £5million per night with over 60,000 people packing into the stadium for each performance. If she accepts the offer, it would be her final live shows before she steps away from the stage for a much-needed rest and to work on her next album.

A source said: “The offer is there for Adele to finally perform at Spurs’ stadium, which has been a dream of Adele’s for years. She loves the club and tries to never miss a game on TV. The opportunity to sing on the same pitch that her heroes like Son and James Maddison grace each week is a huge one and the perfect end to the last two years of shows in Las Vegas and Germany.”

Adele last performed in London at the BST Hyde Park festival in 2022, and since November of that same year she has had her Weekends With Adele residency at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace. That run ends on November 23. This past summer, the Rolling in the Deep hitmaker had her 10-night Adele in Munich residency which saw her sing to a total of 730,000 fans at the custom built Adele Arena.

At a recent Las Vegas show, Adele told the audience that she would not be extending her residency. She said: “This really is the beginning of the end. There are no other f***ing shows. I’m not going to be like, ‘Surprise!’ They say that if you want things and you are looking for things in life, you have to pay the universe and then it pays you back tenfold. My life is a thousand times better. My life, not my career, not my music. I’m talking about my actual life. And I really, truly think that this show has been my best friend throughout all of that.”

Her residency at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace began in November 2022 and ends this month. In Munich over the summer, the singer said: “I just need a rest. I have spent the last seven years building a new life for myself and I want to live it now.”

Adele is engaged to sports agent Rich Paul, 43, and has son Angelo, 12, with ex Simon Konecki. She said she wants to spend more time with her family.
