Liam Payne’s emotional funeral from devastating personal touches to One Direction tribute

Former One Direction star Liam Payne’s funeral took place today in Buckinghamshire following his tragic death at the age of 31 after falling from a hotel balcony

Liam Payne was laid to rest as his family and friends came together for his funeral.

The former One Direction star tragically died on October 16 aged 31 after falling from the third floor of a hotel in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Those closest to him attended a service in Buckinghamshire as they said their final goodbye. Liam’s devastated dad Geoff had flew out to Argentina following his tragic death and brought his body back to the UK two weeks ago.

His former One Direction bandmates – Harry Styles, Niall Horan, Louis Tomlinson, and Zayn Malik – all joined the service, as well as Cheryl Tweedy, mother to his seven-year-old son Bear. Three people have since been charged in connection with his death, following his fall from a hotel room balcony in Buenos Aires. X Factor star Liam sustained “serious injuries that were incompatible with life”. An inquiry into his death is ongoing.

Zayn Malik and the rest of his One Direction bandmates put their differences aside to attend the funeral. The 31-year-old singer left the band in 2015, and although it’s been reported in recent years that he wants to make up with the lads, today was the first time he’s seen them all together since.

But Zayn’s reunion with Niall Horan, Harry Styles and Louis Tomlinson is under circumstances none of them would ever have imagined. The four of them arrived wearing black suits, solemnly taking in the floral displays put on for Liam. They attended the ceremony alongside Liam’s loved ones, including friends, family and celebrity pals.

A tear-jerking tribute to Liam Payne left by his only son Bear provoked moving scenes at the singer’s funeral. Liam’s body arrived in a white-horse drawn procession to the church with floral tributes displayed by his coffin. One of the tributes was left by Liam’s seven-year-old son Bear. The word ‘Daddy’ was spelled in white roses and left on display beside the church graveyard during the service today. Another floral tribute with red roses, said “son” from Liam’s parents.

Simon Cowell received the comfort of Liam Payne’s mum and dad as he attended the late star’s funeral. X Factor judge and show creator Simon, who helped to form One Direction back in 2010, attended the funeral with his fiancée Lauren Silverman. While outside the church, Simon was consoled by Liam’s dad Geoff and mum Karen. They both placed an arm around the music mogul as they shared an emotional moment together.

    Meaning behind poignant displays

Liam’s family went to great lengths to ensure the service and arrangements were the perfect tribute to the singer. The service cleverly integrated special touches to honour Liam, alongside the more classic flower displays and candles. One such personal item on display to mourners as they entered the Buckinghamshire church was a floral display showing a series of bowling pins being hit by a ball, arranged out of fresh flowers.

The piece lovingly calls back to Liam’s famous love of bowling, which spent his 31st birthday doing with his family on the 29th August this year. Many cars bringing guests to the church had Batman stickers on the front windshields, showing the logo of a black bat against a white background. Liam’s love of Batman was well-documented, with some fans even saying he was “obsessed” with the mysterious superhero.

The singer’s famous friends watched solemnly as a white horse drawn carriage arrived at St Mary’s church in Amersham, Buckinghamshire, adorned with ‘Son’, spelled out in red flowers. On top of the carriage, there was also a white and blue floral tribute, which said: ‘Daddy’, in reference to the son, Bear, which Liam shares with Cheryl.

A hush fell over the gathered crowd as Liam’s coffin arrived at the church, carried in a horse-drawn hearse, which was decorated with white roses and his name. The atmosphere was heavy with grief, broken only by muffled sobs as his devoted family followed closely behind. Dressed in black, they clung to one another, their faces etched with sorrow but resolute in their love for Liam.

    Final act of kindness

Liam Payne’s order of service has revealed the star’s final act of kindness as he was laid to rest today.

The funeral service included booklets that urged attendees to donate to children’s hospital Great Ormond Street. It’s a fitting gesture from Liam, who was reported to have spent his final weeks donating to fundraisers for unwell children.

The booklet read: “Thank you for attending the service and thank you for all the kind messages received. Liam would like you to make a donation. In memory of Liam we’d like you to consider Great Ormond Street Hospital, ” alongside a link to the foundations page.

Louis Tomlinson was seen holding onto the order of service, as he took some time to himself to gather his thoughts after saying goodbye to his friend and former bandmate.

Kate Cassidy was pictured outside the church dressed in black and wearing sunglasses and accompanied by actor and model Damian Hurley. She said she has “lost the best part of myself” following the singer’s death. In a post to Instagram a week following the singer’s death, Kate said: “I don’t even know where to begin. My heart is shattered in ways I can’t put into words. I wish you could see the huge impact you’ve had on the world, even as it feels so dark right now.

“You brought so much happiness and positivity to everyone – millions of fans, your family, friends, and especially me. You are so incredibly loved. You are – because I can’t say were – my best friend, the love of my life, and everyone you touched felt just as special as I did. Your energy was contagious, lighting up every room you walked into.

“None of this feels real, and I can’t wrap my head around this new reality of not having you here. I’m struggling to figure out how to live in a world without you by my side. Together, we got to be kids again, always finding joy in the smallest things. Liam, you had the kindest soul and the most fun-loving spirit. It feels like I’ve lost the best part of myself. I can’t imagine a day without your laughter and love. You brought so much light into my life.”

Sad truth behind Zoe Ball’s shock decision to quit Radio 2 despite £950k salary

Zoe Ball is leaving BBC Radio 2 next month after six years on air following a tough year after losing her beloved mum

On Tuesday, BBC Radio 2 presenter Zoe Ball shocked listeners when she announced that she was leaving her duties on the show after six years – and now the real reason for her departure has been ‘revealed’.

Zoe, 53, shared her heartfelt gratitude, saying she is “really touched” by the wave of well-wishes following her announcement that she will be stepping down as host of BBC Radio 2’s Breakfast Show.

The media star plans to leave next month and cites wanting to “focus on family” as her reason but also expressed that she’s “really chuffed” for Scott Mills, who will step into the early morning role.

Ball succeeded Chris Evans in 2019 and after six years, she’s ready to bid farewell to the dawn chorus, indicating it’s time for her to “step away from the very early mornings and focus on family”, with her final broadcast scheduled for December 20. Meanwhile, Mills, currently hosting Radio 2’s afternoon slot, is set to take over from January.

On Instagram, Ball showed appreciation: “Really touched, thanks for the messages, thrilled for my mates Scott, Trevor, Spoony and Sophie.” TV favourite Rylan Clark hailed Zoe as “being the best wake-up for the past six years” while also lauding Mills in his Instagram stories: “Scott, I’ve never been more happy for someone. If you grazed your knee you would bleed radio. I know how much this means to you and I’m so so proud of you”.

Beaming alongside Mills for a photo op outside New Broadcasting House, Zoe told reporters of her pride for her colleague Mills. “It has all turned out nicely,” she said contently.

“I’m really chuffed for my mate and really excited about it.” Ball warmed the hearts of her fans during her Tuesday radio show when she addressed her audience, saying, “You know I think the world of you all, listeners, and it truly has been such a privilege to share the mornings with you, to go through life’s little ups and downs, we got through the lockdown together, didn’t we?”

“We’ve shared a hell of a lot, the good times, the tough times, there’s been a lot of laughter. And I am going to miss you cats.” Despite the love for her job, Ball couldn’t resist adding a note on her early starts: “But I won’t miss the 4am alarm call, if I’m completely honest.”

Zoe’s shock departure from BBC Radio 2 comes after she had an unexplained six-week absence this summer. Listeners were growing increasingly concerned for the radio presenter, but after six weeks, Zoe returned to the show as she declared ‘I’m back!’ in an upbeat tone.

At the time, Zoe said she was happy to be back as she told Radio 2 listeners that she was a ‘wanderer’ no more. However, insiders have now claimed that the much-loved star was masking the unhappiness that had kept her off air for six weeks.

Sources have claimed that Zoe’s reasoning for leaving her duties on Radio 2 are down to a desire to spend more time with her kids, Woody, 23, and Nellie, 14 – after the death of her beloved mum earlier this year.

Instagram/woody_cook)“She simply wants to live differently, which means having more of a family life,” the insider told Mail Online after Zoe herself said that she has had enough of the 4am wake-up calls after six years on the show.

The catalyst for the change in Zoe’s perspective on her work-life balance is reportedly down to the passing of her beloved mother Julia, who died earlier this year.

Of her decision to finally call it a day after six years at BBC Radio 2, a source said: “In the end, this was completely her decision. She came to them [the BBC] in September after she had had a break to think about her life and said: ‘I’m done.’ The BBC… wanted a bit of time to put everything in place, which they were able to do. They looked at who might do it… I think they only seriously considered Vernon Kay and Scott Mills.”

Exclusive: ITV I’m A Celebrity confirms TWO new arrivals as they threaten to shake up camp

Love Island legend Maura Higgins and Reverend Richard Coles talk to the Mirror and confirm they are jungle-bound – and set to spark chaos on I’m A Celebrity 2024

Ex Love Island star Maura Higgins and Reverend Richard Coles have finally been confirmed to be entering the I’m A Celebrity 2024 camp with them set to shake things up.

The duo spoke to the Mirror to reveal they would be arriving on the show on Thursday in some exciting show news. It was revealed by hosts Ant McPartlin and Dec Donnelly at the end of the episode that Maura and Richard were on their way, in scenes to air on Thursday night.

The hosts confirmed the pair would arrive and be in a separate camp, where they would have to take on a secret mission. Maura is in Australia after jetting straight in following a boozy, blow-out in Las Vegas. “Honestly, I’m not good….I feel like I’m in The Hangover, I’ve even got the shakes,” she laughs.

“I have no clue what time it is, I don’t know where I am. In fact, I’ve done the opposite of preparing myself [for the jungle]. I’ve tried not to think about it, because when I think about it, I get so much anxiety.”

She will become only the second ever Love Islander after Olivia Attwood to appear on the ITV show… and is determined to fly the flag for the show’s former contestants. “I just don’t want to let people down, because everyone’s been DMing me, saying ‘Oh my God, I hope you’re doing the show.’” she explains. “I don’t want to back out of the trials and be the biggest wimp in the camp.”

She says her mum was left flabbergasted when she told her she’d signed up for the Jungle. “She nearly died. She went: ‘Maura, how are you going to do that?’ She is baffled as I’m more of an indoor girl…I like my hotels. I’ve never slept outside,” she says. She refused to camp even at festivals. “I’m always like, ‘no, get me back to a hotel,’” she laughs.

So what can we expect when she enters the camp alongside Rev Richard Coles as one of the late arrivals. “It’s been five years and I think I’ve matured, but I still have a potty mouth,” she explains. “I’m still the same kind of girl but I’m not going to go in and annihilate anyone. However, if someone gets on my nerves, I’m not really one to hold it in. I do speak my mind. If someone patronized me, I get really irritated. Like, that’s one thing that really drives me mad.”

Reverend Richard Coles says his preparation for the jungle entailed consuming 5000 calories a day on a cruise and avoiding ‘triggering’ nature documentaries. The star said: “I would like to say that I’ve been lowering my calorie intake to prepare for that, but that’s not worked out so far. I’ve been trying not to look at nature programs about the horrors of Australia.”

The 62-year-old says he is worried about his snoring and “everybody wanting to kill me because I keep them awake at night.” He added: “I am also worried about finding a fear I didn’t know I had yet and going to pieces on television in front of a koala or wombat or something.”

But Richard is also thrilled about being the first vicar in the jungle. ”I don’t think there are many precedents for this, although, vicars have been going into jungles for years and years and years as missionaries.”

Coleen Nolan’s life off-screen from famous sons, soapstar ex and tragic death

Loose Women star Coleen Nolan has been in the public eye since childhood alongside her sisters and has remained in the public eye ever since.

Loose Women star Coleen Nolan rose to fame as a child alongside her sisters and has remained in the public eye ever since.

At the age of nine, Coleen made her first television debut alongside her sisters on the TV show It’s Cliff Richard! and has remained a staple on TV screens since.

Coleen, who became a star when she joined The Nolans with her siblings, has had an incredibly successful career. However, in the early 90s, she left the pop group to focus on her children.

A few years later, she joined the Loose Women panel in 2000, a position she’s maintained to this day. However, Coleen has made plenty of other TV appearances over the years.

The 59-year-old has been a presenter on This Morning, a contestant on Dancing on Ice, and a runner-up on I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! and won Celebrity Big Brother in 2017.

With so much of Coleen’s life captured over the years, we’ve taken a look into her world when the cameras aren’t rolling. From turbulent relationships, steamy affairs, heartbreaking deaths and soap star exes, Coleen’s life is anything but boring.

    Relationships

In the late 1980s, Coleen met actor and entertainment star Shane Richie, who is best known for playing Alfie Moon on BBC’s EastEnders.

It wasn’t long before they welcomed their first son together before getting engaged. The duo initially planned a grand wedding, but they ended up eloping to Florida in the 1990s.

Along with their son Shane Jr, they also had a second son together called Jake. However, their romance came to an end in 1997, with both Coleen and Shane confessing to having affairs during their relationship.

In her autobiography, Coleen detailed kissing a keyboard player while on tour with her sisters. Admitting she felt unattractive and non-existent after having her second son, she enjoyed the attention.

She wrote: “As I kissed my musician, it was like a sexual awakening. Adrenalin was pumping through my body. I knew what I was doing was terribly wrong, but I was literally shaking with exhilaration. ‘I am still attractive,’ I thought to myself.”

Since then, Coleen has been overwhelmed with guilt and has described the incident as “one of the most horrendous times” of her life.

Despite both Coleen and Shane’s infidelities, the pair kept things amicable and continued to co-parent their sons together.

After her divorce, she met musician Ray Fensome, who became her second husband and father to her only daughter, Ciara. In 2005, the duo got engaged before tying the knot two years later in 2007.

Sadly, their marriage didn’t work out, and they called it a day in their relationship two years after their wedding. However, similarly to Shane, Coleen and Ray appear to have no bad blood and are close friends.

Coleen and her ex-husband Ray Fensome remain good friends

Recently, Coleen showcased her partner, Michael Jones, on Loose Women after meeting him on the dating app Tinder. However, the pair’s relationship has been anything but smooth sailing, as it’s reported they’ve called it quits three times.

Speaking to the Mirror, she said: “It was all my issues because of what I’d gone through, so I was pushing him away, thinking I couldn’t deal with it. I’m very open to everything he’s providing me emotionally, and it’s fantastic”

However, it seems like things are back on track as she shared a sweet snap alongside Michael and her family while watching one of her son’s shows in Edinburgh.

    Children

Coleen has three children, two of which she shares with EastEnders star Shane Richie, and she often speaks about them while appearing on Loose Women.

It looks as though her two eldest, Shane Jr and Jake, have followed in their parent’s showbiz footsteps.

When the Nolan Sisters toured together in 2009, Shane Jr was the warm-up singer for his mum’s band. However, he also fronts The Nolan Band alongside Matt Bamber and Jack Lavelle.

Similarly, Jake is also no stranger to the performing world. He was part of the band Rixton, now called Push Baby, which had a hit No.1 song, “Me and My Broken Heart.”

coleen_nolan/Instagram)Although the band announced in 2022 that they were taking a break, Jake has been on his own tour, recounting his time in the industry. Recently, Jake took to Instagram to share he was expecting a baby with his partner.

Coleen shares her youngest and only daughter, Ciara, with ex-partner Ray Fensome. Earlier this year, Coleen spoke about Ciara’s decision to travel the world with her partner.

She confessed: “They’ve worked really hard and saved up and I’m so proud of them both and her, but honestly, I just can’t stop crying. But I’m trying not to do it in front of her because I’m thrilled and I’m proud because what an amazing thing to do. But it’s like losing my best friend.”

However, it seems as though Ciara is back in the UK, as Coleen recently shared a sweet snap of them together.

    Family heartbreak and cancer scare

Tragically, Coleen lost her sister Bernie in 2013 after she died at the age of 52, following a three-year battle with breast cancer. Three years before she died, Bernie underwent treatment.

Having a mastectomy and undergoing chemotherapy, Bernie was given the all-clear in 2012. Sadly, it wasn’t long before the disease returned and spread aggressively to her brain, bones, lungs, and liver.

Coleen has openly spoken about Bernie’s death on Loose Women over the years. More recently, the ITV star detailed how everyone in her family handles grief differently.

Bernie lost her battle to cancer in 2013 at the age of 52

She said: “For me. It’s not, ‘Oh, I like to have this thing that’s going to help me remember them’. Because I never, ever, from the day she died or my parents died, ever forgot. I’ll never forget.”

Sadly, another one of Coleen’s sisters, Linda, is currently battling breast cancer. She was initially diagnosed in 2005, although the disease resurfaced in 2017 and has spread to her brain, bones, and liver.

During an episode of Loose Women, she told viewers her sister doesn’t want to know how long she has left and wants to enjoy the rest of her life.

She said: “At the moment, she’s still having treatment, and that’s what’s keeping her going, you know, ‘as long as they’re still going to treat me, then I’m going to keep on going’.”Coleen's other sister Linda is currently battling cancer

Coleen herself had her own health scare in 2023 when she was diagnosed with basal cell carcinoma, a form of skin cancer.

Speaking on the ‎Learning As I Go: Learning To Feel The Fear podcast, she confessed: ‘I got skin cancer last year. I had carcinoma on my shoulder, which has now gone. And I had chemo cream on my shoulder, so that burned that off.’

Since then, the ITV star confessed she won’t go out without wearing SPF 50.

The Loose Women were replaced on Tuesday with an all-male cast, who candidly shared their own experiences with a number of topics, including dealing with grief and male body image.

The Loose Men return to ITV to celebrate International Men’s Day on Tuesday (November 19).

The special spin-off was headed up by guest host Craig Doyle who was joined by ex-EastEnders star Brian Conley, Jeff Brazier and Jordan Banjo.

During their conversation about grief, Jeff opened up about the death of former partner Jade Goody, who is also the mother of his two sons Bobby and Freddy.

The TV star admitted to his fellow panellists that he “didn’t feel worthy” of grieving for Jade as they had been separated for two years at the time of her tragic death.

Jeff explained how his two sons dealt with their mums death in the months after her passing, and how he had pushed his own grief aside to ensure he looked after Bobby and Freddy.

He explained: “When the boys lost their mum I guess, for the first six or seven months after the loss of their mum they actually didn’t really give it too much of the kind of behaviour I was expecting. Then all of a sudden their world completely turned upside down and it was chaos.”

Jeff continued: “We have all got a coping strategy, and it’s more inherent within men than women, women are really good at being human and natural and being like ‘something really bad has happened I’m going to need to talk about, to connect to people that are close to me because I know that’s what I am going to need’.

Speaking about his own grief after losing Jade, doting dad Jeff explained he had avoided the grieving process which later caught up with him.

He added: “The truth is, that even I, someone who didn’t feel worthy of grieving for Jade because I hadn’t been with her for about two years at this point. I avoided what I was likely to be going through, was a really challenging time.

“But I made it all about the kids, and that’s probably really typical response for any parent. Of course we put them first.”

Addressing the topic, ITV star Kaye Adams told viewers that Denise’s ‘unwelcome visitor,’ which she calls her depression, has been knocking at the door.

Denise said: “Yeah, so I had a really rough two weeks, which I’m still in a bit. I just did a podcast and a big article saying how I’ve been free for five years of clinical depression.

“Sadly, the unwelcome visitor paid me another visit, so I’ve not been well for a couple of weeks.”

She added: “I just wanted to come on here because what I need when I’m poorly, I need for my friends to just know that I need time to get well.”

Denise told the panellists that what she needed during these times was the choice to go to work when she was emotionally ready, explaining her absence from the show last week.

The Loose Women star continued: ” When Janet returned it was up to Janet to say, ‘I’ve had hip surgery I feel well enough to come back’. It’s up to me to know when I’m well enough to come back.

“The only thing that people will relate to if they have depression is, I’ve been free of the morning fear for a long time. I can be ok today, but then tomorrow, I can be absolutely terrible, and it’s isolating.”

Giving more context, Denise shared that the NHS describes depression as an ongoing sadness. She added: Sadness is something that you have as a result of something making you sad, it’s a healthy emotion.

“Depression does exactly what it says on the tin, it depresses every single emotion. So you feel a flatness to things you usually get emotional or have feelings about, it robs you of that.”

Before ending the conversation, Denise thanked her Loose Women co-stars for their support, and she confessed it helps her to go to work while she’s working through this time.

As the audience gave her a huge round of applause for opening up, Janet Street-Porter stood up and gave Denise a huge hug.

Taken aback by Janet’s kindness, Kaye Adams yelled in disbelief, “Oh my god!”

Joking aside, the ITV star added: “You know it’s so amazing for you to share that side of yourself, Denise, I know a lot of people watching will be very, very grateful for that. We love every version of you.”

It wasn’t long before people took to social media to share their thoughts on Denise opening up.

One person said: “Love her, dislike her, mental health is s**t. Hope Denise gets through this quickly.”

Someone else wrote: “How terribly brave of you Denise, you could have always stayed at home for a few months to get well.”

Another wrote: “I hope @RealDeniseWelch is feeling better soon. It’s important mental health is spoken about, no one minds when we speak about our physical health. The taboo about mental health needs to go.”

“@RealDeniseWelch @loosewomen well done for sharing with us and for describing depression so well. Thinking of you as you continue to recover,” wrote another.

With another adding: “Thank you, Denise, for your powerful words today.”

Loose Women continues weekdays on ITV from 12:30pm

  • ITV Coronation Street character ‘in real danger’ as villain goes ‘too far’

ITV Coronation Street character ‘in real danger’ as villain goes ‘too far’

Coronation Street’s Mason Radcliffe actor Luca Toolan has hinted at worrying scenes ahead on the ITV soap following the arrival of two new baddies

Actor Luca Toolan has teased what’s ahead for his Coronation Street character Mason Radcliffe, and he could be in danger.

The soap star spilled all on the latest twists on the show following the arrival of his villainous brothers. Logan and Matty Radcliffe have caused trouble for the youngest of the siblings, and next week he continues to fear them.

But the brothers could be about to go “too far” leading to Mason fighting back, while actor Lucas has hinted major danger ahead for the teen. Asked if he’s in trouble and whether he should be scared of his siblings, Luca said: “He should be running for the hills! Those two are nutters – they are as mental as they can get.”

But as they target Tim and Sally Metcalfe and Mason’s pal Betsy Swain in upcoming scenes according to new spoilers, Mason actor Luca warned he may have been pushed to his limit. He teased: “I think that could potentially be a turning point for Mason.

“It’s a step too far, Mason can take all the stick from Matty and Logan, but as soon as they go after someone who is vulnerable, and someone he deeply cares about, then that will push Mason too far and I expect that he will want to fight back.”

After months of being the baddie for bullying young Liam Connor, Mason has been seen trying to turn his life around in recent weeks. But has he really changed or is it all an act?

Luca said: “Yeah, I definitely think Mason has changed. I think you’ve got to remember how much rubbish this troubled lad has been through. Mason has gone to jail, then gone to jail again for something he didn’t actually do, his brothers torment him and now he’s so clearly trying to change his life around.

“The easier option for Mason would be to give in and join his brothers, but I think it speaks volumes about where his head is at because he’s fighting against it and wants better for himself, which is a really brave thing for him to do.”

On what it’s been like to explore Mason’s past, he went on: “It’s been mint having two brothers on the street. Working with them has been great, they are two crazy boys who are a lot of fun and they’re both really loving off screen – it’s similar to my friendship with Charlie (Liam Connor) and Liam (Dylan Wilson) off screen, there’s a bond there that allows a certain level of trust where we can really push ourselves and test the limits of the scene.”

  • BBC EastEnders fans ‘rumble’ real father of Lauren’s baby – and it’s ‘not Peter’

BBC EastEnders fans ‘rumble’ real father of Lauren’s baby – and it’s ‘not Peter’

EastEnders’ Lauren Branning discovered she was pregnant on the BBC soap on Tuesday night after feeling unwell recently, and fans think Peter Beale isn’t the father

Viewers tuning into EastEnders on Tuesday believed they had rumbled a paternity twist, amid Lauren Branning’s pregnancy.

Lauren uncovered she was pregnant after taking a test in the latest episode of the BBC soap. After weeks of feeling unwell, months on from a horror crush that left her injured, Lauren learned the truth.

Amid concern for her health she visited a doctor where she was told that she needed to reduce her pain medication for her crush injuries, and that she wasn’t able to have another prescription. Lauren was in turmoil, claiming to still be in pain and later she told sister-in-law Anna Knight she was having daily headaches.

When she revealed she’d also been sick that morning Anna questioned if she might be pregnant. Lauren wasn’t sure but soon realised it was a possibility, eventually taking a test and seeing it was positive.

But before the news was revealed, something about Lauren’s reaction to Anna’s question and what she said to Anna sparked suspicion. Lauren and Peter recently reunited around the time she was seriously hurt in the crush.

Lauren had told Anna she couldn’t be pregnant because Peter “hadn’t been near her” since everything had happened. She then pulled a face before fleeing, later shown taking the test.

Lauren had also said her menstrual cycle had been all over the place, but she didn’t specify how long for. Now, viewers are wondering if Lauren has been pregnant for longer than she realised.

They think Peter is not the father of Lauren’s baby, and it will actually be someone else. While some fans questioned if Junior Knight might be the father, most viewers believed it was Zack Hudson after the pair slept together earlier this year.

While it possibly isn’t the case given Lauren and Zack slept together at the end of April, so around seven months ago, fans can’t help but suspect there is more to the baby storyline. One viewer posted on X: “Peter ain’t been near me??? Sorry don’t tell me Lauren is having Zack’s baby… didn’t they sleep with each other MONTHS ago.”

Another viewer said: “The question is how Lauren tell Zack she’s pregnant and how will Zack react.” A third fan commented: “Blimey didn’t Lauren use protection with Zack?” as a fourth said: “Zack’s storyline will be having Lauren’s baby.”

Spoilers for next week reveal Lauren is struggling, as she makes a confession to cousin Penny Branning. But will Lauren tell Peter about the baby?

ITV Coronation Street spoilers: Soap icon killed off, Carla faces death and star returns

Coronation Street spoilers for next week reveal some huge scenes from news of the death of an ITV soap legend, to one favourite facing danger and another character returning

Viewers can expect sad scenes and worrying twists on Coronation Street next week according to new spoilers.

There’s the shocking death of a former character and an ITV soap legend next week, leaving one family reeling. There’s fears of another death too as one character is left lifeless after an attack, with loved ones holding a bedside vigil.

There’s also accusations aplenty, from secret romances possibly being rumbled to police harassment. There’s concern from some, and the return of a character too with a new relationship teased.

The big storyline of the week is the tragic death of former show favourite Les Battersby. Leanne Battersby finds out her father, played by actor Bruce Jones, has tragically died at work in a huge twist that has been reported recently.

The soap did not confirm the news at the time, amid it being revealed the actor found out via an email years on from his last appearance on the show. New spoilers have confirmed the death twist, with Leanne and sister Toyah Battersby left grieving for their late father.

Leanne is yet to find out that Toyah is secretly in a romance with her ex Nick Tilsley, after their recent affair. Giving romance a go, they have kept it from Leanne out of fear of how she might react.

But a mistake with a holiday booking may reveal everything to Leanne next week. Elsewhere and Carla Connor could face death in a horrifying attack next week.

Spoilers reveal that Carla arrives at the factory only to find the place has been trashed, with someone having broken in. As she gets her phone out and prepares to call the police, she’s brutally attacked and hit over the head.

Carla is left lifeless as she falls to the ground, with her soon rushed to hospital. Lisa Swain is devastated over the attack, especially having just told Carla moments earlier that she wasn’t ready for a relationship amid Carla confessing her feelings for her.

Lisa sits by her bedside, and wills for Carla to pull through. Troublemaker Matty Radcliffe is hauled in for questioning by police over the assault, and soon Lisa is left convinced he has something to do with it.

Carla is revealed to be okay as by the end of the week she’s allowed to go home. Roy Cropper urges Lisa and Carla to build bridges, suggesting it’s clear they both like each other but what will they say?

Elsewhere, Lisa’s daughter Betsy Swain tells worried Mason she’s dealt with his brothers including Matty, while Lauren Bolton fears for Frankie’s future amid her killer secret. Also next week Alya Nazir is back after her exit earlier this year.
