Meghan Markle’s half-sister Samantha Markle speaks out on royal rifts after family tragedy

When Meghan Markle got engaged to Prince Harry, the whole world turned its attention to the Markle family and Samantha Markle said this irked her relatives in the US

Meghan Markle’s despairing half-sister Samantha Markle said she is surprised at how the former actress has previously “mocked” the Royal family.

Samantha, 60, has become estranged from her paternal half-sibling as Samantha claims Meghan’s relationship with Harry has put strain on the rest of the family, including Samantha’s mother Roslyn.

Roslyn died in early October. Speaking publicly for the first time since her loss, Samantha fought back the tears to say: “Meghan has no idea what she is missing out on because when my dad (Thomas) goes, it will be too late. Believe me, I know. You can’t get back that time. It leaves a hole in your heart.

“I don’t know the Royal family. I’m just a human, watching from across the pond, but I couldn’t believe it… My dad doesn’t want Meghan to pay him back. But you want love from them because there is a pain in your heart if it isn’t there. I didn’t want my mom to die feeling she was alone, and not loved. I almost left it too late. They could both learn from me.”

When Meghan got engaged to Harry, the whole world turned its attention to the Markle family and all its dysfunction. The family has reportedly drifted apart and now Samantha fears Thomas, 80, has little time left having had two heart attacks and a stroke in recent years.

    Meghan Markle

But in recent years, Samantha has expressed her hurt that Meghan has suggested Harry’s clan was the big family she “never had”. Yet, the Duchess of Sussex quit her royal life in 2020 and left the UK for the US with Harry, two years after they exchanged vows. Meghan has given scathing interviews about The Firm since, and mimicked curtseying to the Queen during the couple’s 2022 Netflix docuseries.

She’s done what she did to her own family to so many other people, too. I knew my dad had suffered, but I thought she would stop at the Queen.” Samantha said, during her interview with the Daily Mail last night, Harry “allowed” his wife to “mock” the late monarch with the act.

But Meghan was reportedly close to Samantha when she grew up. She was born two years after Meghan’s mum Doria Ragland, 68, married Thomas. Now, Samantha desperately wants Meghan, the former actress, to get in touch with their father, although she remains pessimistic.

“If you accept an olive branch, you are asking to be hurt again. I think that would be weird. It would be hard to trust that she was doing it for the right reasons. I think what makes me sad now is there were so many missed opportunities for love and real family,” Samantha added.

Loose Women’s Coleen Nolan shared exciting baby news on Thursday’s episode as she revealed her son, Jake Roche, had welcomed a baby boy with his partner

Loose Women shared some exciting baby news for one of their panellists on Thursday’s show.

During the latest instalment, presenter Coleen Nolan revealed her son, Jake Roche, had welcomed a baby boy with his partner.

Coleen couldn’t help but gush about her new grandson, revealing she was emotional over the incredible milestone.

The presenter said: “I’ve got some good news to announce on my baby boy Jake and his gorgeous fiancée Georgia had a baby boy. So I’ve got a little grandson now, I’ve not even seen him yet apart from pictures and videos.”

To which co-star Kaye Adams replied: “You’ve not seen him?” with Coleen explaining: “Not yet, no! He was 5lbs7, he’s tiny! Nanny! Really surreal, so emotional and just a bit… surreal as in, when one of your kids has a baby. Jake to me is still my baby and there he is now a dad!

“The fact that he was so emotional, already he’s like: ‘Mum, I’m so so obsessed with him and so in love with him.’ The two of them together. She’s only just got home with him and they just want to have this week quiet getting to know him as a couple then they have no excuses, I’m going to hound them, then they’re getting married next July so he’ll be about seven months.”

It comes as Jake revealed earlier this month that he was about to become a father – with the bundle of joy due to arrive in just days.

The 32-year-old singer – who is the son of 59-year-old Loose Women star Coleen and EastEnders icon Shane Richie, 60 – has now welcomed his first child with partner Georgia

Jake is the lead singer of a band called Push Baby – formerly known as Rixton – but has also stretched his creative wings in the world of acting.

He found critical praise for his stage show Neporrhoids which is a one-man show about his rise and fall in the music world. The show was a hit at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and was due to transfer to the Pleasance Theatre in London later this month – but he has now cancelled his dates and moved them to January 17 and 18 after he had a sudden change in family matters.

Taking to Instagram earlier this month, he announced in a statement: “Due to an unexpected yet exciting family development, I’ve decided to reschedule my upcoming November shows – 21/22/23. My partner and I are expecting the arrival of our little one around that time (sooner than we thought), and I want to be fully present to support her and our growing family.”

The star continued: “All tickets will be transferred over to the new date in January or refunded. Thank you for your patience and understanding! Here’s to the future of Nepo Babies!” He also added in a further caption to the statement: “New show link is in my bio. Hope to see you there.”

Loose Women’s Kaye Adams interrupts show as she teases ‘we have a huge announcement’

On Friday’s instalment of Loose Women, ITV star Kaye Adams hinted there’s something big happening on the programme next week.

It looks as though there’s big news happening next week for the Loose Women ladies. As the show wrapped up on Friday afternoon, presenter Kaye Adams shared what fans can expect to see on the programme.

She said: “Two Loose legends are stopping by too when Andrea and Sherrie pop in. As if that wasn’t enough, we have got a huge announcement about the biggest thing that we have ever done here on Loose.”

Asking her co-star Judi Love to fill in their guest Craig Revel Horwood, the panellist was seen whispering the show’s secret to him. He replied: “Am I? That sounds absolutely A-MA-ZING. I cannot wait, darling!”

Before the show came to an end, Kaye added: “You won’t want to miss it! Have a great weekend!” Viewers will have to wait until next week to find out what the Loose Women panel have in store for fans.

During the show, the panel spoke to Strictly Come Dancing judge Craig about the BBC show as the competition nears the final.

Olivia Attwood confessed her heart was breaking for her friend and Strictly contestant Pete Wicks after he was placed bottom of the leaderboard last weekend.

The Towie star was awarded 27 for his Cha Cha, which he performed in neon pink PVC trousers, a sheer shirt to match and sparkly heart-shaped glasses.

Craig replied: “Oh really? Mine (heart) broke for him in fact. I mean there was nothing I could do about that performance was there. I mean, he’s great though I love him. I absolutely love him and he’s so brave to get out there.”

The Strictly judge continued as he told the Loose panel he’s thoroughly enjoying the show this year as he praised the contestants.

Kaye prompted: “So Chris (McCausland) to win?”

He replied: “Well, he’s got every opportunity, hasn’t he? I think he’s very, very popular with the crowd and as we know, it’s up to the wonderful people at home isn’t it really?

“I think the people are home should be given the opportunity to be in charge of it all. We’re really there just for guidance.”

Currently, Chris is the bookie’s favourite to win the competition with William Hill putting his odds at 1/5.

“Despite there being four weeks left, McCausland trades at just 1/5 to win this year’s series, giving him serious breathing space in the betting ahead of Sarah Hadland (9/2) and Tasha Ghouri (10/1).”

Phillip Schofield cosies up to radio legend as he celebrates Steve Wright on special outing

Phillip Schofield was seen paying tribute to late Radio 2 DJ Steve Wright where he delighted in taking a selfie with a broadcasting legend

Phillip Schofield has posted a selfie with a current broadcasting legend while celebrating the life of late BBC Radio 2 DJ, Steve Wright.

The 62-year-old beleaguered TV presenter had a rare moment, recently, to share some laughter and happiness as he remembered Steve, who died in February from a ruptured ulcer in his stomach, aged 69. Steve had hosted shows on the BBC for more than 40 years before his passing, which came after he left his afternoon show in 2002, following being axed and replaced by Scott Mills.

Steve had been a fixture on the airwaves for 23 years with his afternoon show, and his fellow DJs were there in numbers to pay tribute, some nine months after his passing. Among them were ‘whispering’ Bob Harris, 78, who earned his nickname due to his husky delivery during his long radio career.

Bob was full of smiles when he posed with Phillip for a selfie, which the former TV presenter posted on his Instagram Story. Schofe captioned the snap with: “Wonderful day remembering our friend and broadcast icon, Steve Wright.” He then added a further caption to the pic, which read: “There were many legends present (me excluded!) none more so than @whisperingbob”

Phillip then posted another selfie with Bob before adding a photo of Steve Wright, taken when he was in his prime on BBC Radio 1. Captioning this photo, Phillip admitted that the gathering might not have been Steve’s cup of tea, but he would have been pleased with how many were there paying homage to the late great. Phillip wrote: “Steve would have hated it… but been quietly thrilled that so many people who loved him, came together for him.”

The photos showed a different picture to the one yesterday, when Phillip looked glum as he was spotted out and about with his daughter two months after he returned to our TV screens. The former This Morning presenter was pictured walking his dog alongside daughter Molly Lowe in London on Wednesday.

This comes after Phillip appeared on the new Channel 5 programme Cast Away, which was met with mixed reviews. Phillip was also seen wearing his wedding ring, despite coming out as gay and separating from his wife, Stephanie Lowe, in February 2020.

It has been a difficult few weeks for Phillip after he announced that his mum Patricia Schofield had passed away last month. A funeral was held for Patricia in Cornwall, where she had lived, on November 8. The service at St. Michaels Church in Newquay was attended by family and friends, including Phillip. He was joined by his wife Stephanie, 60, as well as their daughters Molly, 31, and Ruby, 28.

Royal Variety Performance’s most risqué Royal Family jokes amid fresh taunt fears

The annual celebration of music, theatre and comedy will return to screens to show highlights from the 112th event – and there are fears more jokes will be unleashed at the expense of the Royals

The 2024 Royal Variety Performance is taking place in London tonight.

The annual event is now in its 112th year – having first been performed way back in 1912, with King George V and Queen Mary attending. Amanda Holden and Alan Carr are on hosting duties, and aside from the King and Queen, this year’s star-studded show will feature appearances from Elton John, Penn & Teller and BGT winner Sydnie Christmas.

But some Royal fans might be anxious Carr and co could crack controversial jokes about the Royal Family. Many past hosts and performers have made risqué comments about the top British family. Here we look back at some of those controversial moments.

    Lee Mack

The 2022 Royal Variety Performance was the first to take place following the death of Queen Elizabeth II – who passed away in September that year at the impressive age of 96. Lee Mack was placed in charge of hosting the show – but provoked controversy with a joke about Her Majesty’s late husband, Prince Phillip – who died in April 2021 at the age of 99.

Addressing Prince Edward and wife Sophie – who were sitting in the audience – Lee joked: “I look forward to meeting you both after the show. I’ve been told all about Royal etiquette. I don’t want to make the mistake I made on my first Royal Variety Performance in 2002. Apparently when meeting the Royal family, you should bow your head just at the neck and you never offer your hand until you’ve been offered it by them.

“And the number one rule which I got wrong last time was to never kiss them on the lips. Honestly, I thought Prince Philip was going to punch my lights out.” The gag was slammed by many, with one fan writing on X/Twitter: “I love Lee Mack but joking about Prince Philip in that way is far too cheeky. Especially given the fact the Queen only passed a few months back. There’s a time and a place.”

    Alan Carr

Bespectacled comedy icon Alan was also the host of the Variety show in 2021 but divided fans with an awkward joke aimed at Prince William and Kate. The TV star complemented Kate and the green dress that she was wearing.

    Alan Carr

However, he made a quip that was arguably at his own expense as he referenced his own sexuality to assure Prince William that he was not making a pass at his wife. Alan joked: “Sir, I am sure you do not know who I am. But I am not hitting on your wife.”

While Alan’s joke made the royal pair chuckle, viewers watching at home were less impressed – with some taking aim at the comedian, with one writing on X/Twitter at the time: “@RoyalVariety blimey didn’t realise how funny Alan Carr isn’t. This is so boring.” And another asked: “Who the feck booked Alan Carr for #TheRoyalVarietyPerformance? His jokes are as old as Rod Stewart’s hairstyle.”

    Romesh Ranganathan and Rob Beckett

In 2019, the event was hosted by comedian pair Romesh Ranganathan and Rob Beckett. Both of the comedy stars took aim at Prince William and Kate – who were sat prominently in the audience while their three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis were at home.

    Image:
    Matt Frost/ITV)
Rob said: “We are also joined by some special Royal guests tonight. I’m really excited about the royal party being here. I’ve been doing research. I went to Hampton Court Palace for 10 hours. I got lost in the maze… Thank you for coming out tonight. You’re on date night. That’s exciting. You got the babysitter until midnight or 1am? It’s worth that extra 20 quid.”

Romesh continued: “Like me you’re blessed with three beautiful children. I reckon every morning they come running into your bedroom and you look at their little faces and say, ‘I regret this’.”

The jokes didn’t land well with viewers, however, with many finding the quips excruciating. One TV fan wrote on X/Twitter at the time: “Poor Wills & Kate having to force laughter for these two idiots. #RoyalVarietyPerformance.”

    Greg Davies

In 2018, Variety Show viewers were sure many jokes were going over the head of Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, who was sat beside new husband Prince Harry. Show host Greg Davies shared an anecdote about his mum, nerves, and the Queen.

ITV)He recalled: “My mum said about tonight: ‘You don’t need to be nervous, the Queen is just Harry’s nan’. She said it with the arrogance of someone who had met the entire family.”

But viewers were convinced the comment left Meghan grimacing with confusion. One fan wrote on X/Twitter: “I don’t think Meghan got the joke… that fake laugh weren’t kidding me!”

    Jack Whitehall

Back in 2014, Jack Whitehall took to the stage of the Royal Variety Show – where he stunned fans by revealing he had been at school with Kate. The star sparked gasps at the time, not just because of his surprising royal connection – but because of a cheeky quip he made at the event too.

Jack said: “I was a bit younger than you, but this is the first time I’ve seen you since school, so hello.” He made his comment while gazing towards the Royal Box – where Kate was sat alongside her husband.

Jack continued: “I don’t know whether it’s appropriate given the circumstances but you were probably my first ever crush.” He then hastily added: “Okay, definitely inappropriate. Your Highness is giving me a sharp look.”

The following year, Jack caused more awkward laughs as he addressed Prince Harry, saying: “Yes, ladies and gentleman, he may only be a Prince. But when it comes to banter, all hail the King.”

ITV I’m A Celebrity’s Dean sparks fears he’ll quit show as he abruptly ends trial

I’m A Celebrity 2024 did not go Dean McCullough’s way yet again on Thursday night, as he struggled with his Bushtucker Trial for the third time in three days

There was more upset on ITV’s I’m A Celebrity on Thursday night as Dean McCullough found himself struggling in yet another trial.

For the third time in a matter of days, the radio star failed to secure all stars on offer in his Bushtucker Trial, meaning a small meal once more for the camp. Just days ago we saw him scream and cry after being locked into a mummy figurine, with it slowly filling up with sand

Having shared that being buried was one of his big fears, it all got too much for the shaken star and he quit the trial two questions in. The next day, he and GK Barry managed to stick the trial out, but they weren’t able to win a single star.

There were more screams and tears, resulting in host Ant McPartlin “losing his cool”, with him later fuming over the pair for wasting time. Things did not get much better on Thursday night, with little redemption in sight for the campmate.

The latest trial saw him try the task and he did get further in than his first trial. But it once again all got too much for him and he was left screaming the famous words: “I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!”

Dean’s head was placed in a box in one part of the challenge, with snakes and bugs joining him while he had to use his tongue to secure the stars. He also had to put his hands through some boxes in another task while receiving shocks, while a third challenge saw him having to move a star, with his tongue, from one end to the other – with huge spiders on his head.

As the trial came to an end, Dean was visibly shaking and annoyed at having to end it once again. He had his head in his hands before he was shown what was in the boxes, as hosts Ant and Dec didn’t look happy. Dean did manage to secure four stars for camp though, something he said he was happy about.

Once again, Dean faced the cruel task of having to tell his campmates all about the drama, and the fact he’d got no stars. With campmates now super hungry, having had two days of rationed meals, it was clear Dean was dreading telling them.

Amid his unlucky third stint at the trial clearing, viewers have been left wondering if Dean will quit the show. He’s been tipped to walk for the past few days after his terror ordeal at the first and second trial, with the third now also ending badly.

Taking to X, one fan posted: “Mate mark my words Dean will be the first to walk.” Another viewer commented: “Dean is not gonna last,” as a third posted: “Shocked Dean has not quit already.”

I’m a Celeb’s Jane Moore reveals personal bombshell leaving campmates speechless

Jane Moore, known for sharing her views on Loose Women and her lengthy career in journalism, spoke to campmates on I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! on ITV on Wednesday

Jane Moore once left a tattoo parlour mid procedure – because it was “too painful” to complete.

The Loose Woman told her I’m a Celebrity co-stars the comical story about when she went for the etching at just 18 – but found it too agonising so left after an outline was done.

Speaking on Wednesday’s show on ITV, she said the outline now resembles a “golden eagle” because her bum has got bigger since. The confession left her campmates, including Corrie actor Alan Halsall, McFly singer Danny Jones, N-Dubz star Tulisa Contostavlos, speechless.

The gang were eventually pictured bursting into laughter at Jane’s cheeky mishap, which she shared after asking Danny about his tattoo on his right leg. The musician, from Bolton, Greater Manchester, admitted he was underage when he got the large inking done but, as a kid, wanted something with Bruce Springsteen lyrics on.

Then Jane, who has been a regular on Loose Women since 2013, said: “When I was about 18, I thought I’m gonna get a bluebird on my bum. They just did the outline and I went ‘too painful, thanks’, and I just left… So I’ve just got this outline. It’s like a golden eagle now because my arse has got bigger.”

It offered Danny, 38, light relief as later in the show, he broke down as he opened up on battling anxiety since he was a teenager. Talking about therapy and his emotions, jungle co-stars Oti Mabuse and Tulisa both praised the musician for opening up.

Asked about therapy, Danny went on: “Yeah, I’ve been in therapy since I was 19 for anxiety.” It’s then that he detailed an on-air panic attack that left him “freaking out” during a televised interview. He revealed: “I was freaking out and I couldn’t answer the question that got asked to me. Heart rate goes crazy.”

Jane had asked whether he’d suffered with it from childhood, with Danny becoming upset with his head in his hands as he told her: “I think I escaped a lot.”

As he broke down, Tulisa said in the Bush Telegraph: “We’re seeing a lot of emotion coming out of Danny which is beautiful.” Back in camp Danny then thanked his campmates.

Exclusive: BBC Strictly Come Dancing’s Brendan Cole points out worrying detail about Pete Wicks

BBC show Strictly Come Dancing is heating up ahead of next month’s finale and former pro Brendan Cole didn’t hold back when he shared his views on last weekend’s performances

Saturday night saw the return of Strictly Come Dancing’s infamous Blackpool show.

Pete Wicks stormed the stage with his professional partner Jowita Przystal, but Brendan Cole, a former pro on the hit BBC show, pointed out something worrying about their dance in a new interview.

The weekend’s instalment of the ballroom competition marked the end of the road for Wynne Evans and his partner Katya Jones, who landed in the dance off against Montell Douglas and Johannes Radebe.

Former TOWIE star Pete, meanwhile, scored 27 points from the judges for his and Jowita’s Cha-cha-cha.

Broadcasting live from the iconic Blackpool Tower Ballroom on Saturday, viewers were wowed by a performance from The Pet Shop Boys and watched the celebrities and their dance partners dazzle with extravagant routines.

However, Brendan said that 36-year-old Pete’s most recent performance was his worst yet. He told Sky Vegas: “I didn’t love his [Pete Wicks’] number on the weekend, but it wasn’t bad enough [to be voted out].”

Elaborating on the fact Saturday marked Pete’s ‘worst’ performance, Brendan did offer some positive feedback too, continuing: “Obviously, the audience were on board, because he’s making it through. Potentially, in the next few weeks, he could really do something quite special. Saturday night was probably one of his worst dances – if he was going to go, last night would have been the night for it to happen.”

Elsewhere over the weekend, Miranda actress Sarah Hadland and her dance partner Vito Coppola and Love Island star Tasha Ghouri and her dance partner Aljaž Škorjanec topped the leaderboard on Saturday night – with both couples scoring 39 points from the judges.

In the end, it was Opera singer Wynne who left the show and on Monday, during an appearance on spin-off show It Takes Two, Wynne was overcome with emotion as he spoke about his time on Strictly.

The Go Compare star said: “It’s been wonderful, I’ve got to say. I feel like it’s what Strictly is all about. If I can come and do Strictly and last until week nine, then anybody can get out there and dance and have a brilliant time. Strictly is such a brilliant family, such a precious family, that I want everybody here in this room and at home to look after it for the generations to come because it is a wonderful, wonderful thing.”

Meanwhile, Katya added: “This is what Strictly is about, no one is going to remember the scores or the comments you got. It’s the friendships they create on the show and genuine relationships. I’m so glad you had each other.”

Wynne then unexpectedly burst into tears – leaving show host Fleur East scrambling to find tissues to give him.

While the power couple’s massive online following can’t wait, there’s word from our insider that the filming experience isn’t quite what Stacey bargained for.

It seems the pressures of having cameras around the clock might be taking its toll. “It’s really starting to show the strain between her and Joe – she wanted this more than him and he’s not as comfortable being filmed 24/7,” the source revealed. “When Stacey signed up for the reality show she had no idea how much pressure she would be under.”

Reality TV doesn’t shy away from the nitty-gritty, as seen on Netflix’s ‘At Home With the Furys’ and America’s guilty pleasure ‘Keeping Up with the Kardashians’, where family feuds are just part of the script. It appears though that Stacey Solomon and Joe Swash have felt the sting of too much reality in their own lives.

A source claimed: “Despite people telling her that it’s not as easy as it looks, she just thought it would be like putting up posts and stories on her Instagram. But producers want drama and storylines so it won’t just be her playing happy families,” adding that, “Stacey is quite open about their arguments but this was a big one – and there has been a lot of tension.”

During her trip to Sin City, where Stacey witnessed Adele live and had a personal shout-out, she couldn’t help but gush over her pals for being a rock-solid support system, stating: “they literally lift me up, have my back, keep me going, make me feel so supported and I just couldn’t do life without them.”

Joe couldn’t hide his joy as he shared heartwarming pics of their lovely reunion, imagining warming up fans’ hearts when he captioned the shots: “The kids were super excited to show mummy the welcome home board they made. We all missed her so much. Just ain’t the same without you Stacey,” while Stacey herself added: “My babies came to the airport for me.”

According to the source, Stacey’s brief jaunt to the US has seemingly worked wonders for everyone involved. “Stacey went away for a few days and in that time Joe realised how much he missed her, needs her – and that they do really love each other.” All eyes are on the couple, hoping that the natural pressures that come with living life in front of cameras won’t spark further disputes. Despite occasional friction, it’s evident these two have a lot of love for one another.

Exclusive: Holly Willoughby’s ‘dish best served cold’ following Phillip Schofield’s digs

Holly Willoughby was left ‘hurt and betrayed’ by Phillip Schofield after his affair with a young runner on This Morning was exposed but has remained dignified throughout his explosive return

The telly world has seen some major dramas lately. This week, Philip Schofield made a stunning comeback on TV with his new three-part reality show Cast Away, after he quit his presenting gig on This Morning last May amid revelations of an extra-marital affair with a young runner, effectively exiling him from the glittering realm of showbiz.

Schofield’s outing on Channel 5 featured him roughing it in true Robinson Crusoe style, bearded and weather-beaten, as he faced the trials of survival on a deserted island near Madagascar for 10 days, evidently trying to salvage his tarnished reputation. But it wasn’t just about survival; during his time alone, he couldn’t resist firing some thinly-disguised barbs towards figures in the television industry, reports OK! .

It seems fair to assume one of these targets was none other than his old mate Holly Willoughby. Their once tight-knit partnership on This Morning ended up frosty following Philip’s infamous love scandal last year. They had been inseparable co-hosts for over a decade. Although, instead of hitting back publicly or causing a social media frenzy over Phil’s biting remarks, Holly has opted to stay admirably quiet during his attention-stealing return.

A source confides that Holly’ s approach to the furore surrounding her ex-colleague has always been to keep things “respectful as possible – even though she was the one left to ‘pick up the pieces and deal with the fallout”‘. They whisper, “She was very hurt and betrayed by him as she felt he had lied to her but she has never really slated him – so for him to make thinly-veiled attacks on his new show was a real low.”

“She didn’t deserve that and she thought that after all she has been through in the past 18 months, that he might be a bit more understanding. But it’s clear he sort of blames her for his downfall and that he’s still angry about it all – and Holly knew he wouldn’t be able to keep quiet.” They added, “She had been gearing up for what he was going to say and it’s not nice but she feels she’ll get the last laugh as the show hasn’t exactly been well-received and he is getting criticism for playing the victim and trying to get sympathy.”

Once inseparable pals who would even take holidays together and whose bleary-eyed, giggly stints on the This Morning couch after raucous nights at the National Television Awards became iconic, fast forward 16 months and it appears they’re no longer on speaking terms. Fast-forward 16 months, though, and the two haven’t been spotted together publicly since their final appearance on May 18 last year, amid whispers of a ‘feud’ and Holly’s apparent lack of interest in mending their relationship.

While she isn’t named explicitly, Phil mentioned in the three-part series, “I miss parts of being on TV, certainly. I miss most of it, if I’m honest. I miss most of it. But there are bits that I really, really, really don’t miss.” He took a swipe with the pointed comment: “You learn a lot about people. I don’t miss that. When you throw someone under a bus, you’ve got to have a really bloody good reason to do it.”

Highlighting the moment that caught everyone’s attention, Phil couldn’t resist making light of Holly’s on-air query post his departure: “If you’re okay, then we’re okay and I’m okay. Are you okay? ” as he shared laughs during a barbecue in his garden with wife Steph and their daughters Molly, 31, and Ruby, 28.

Phil dropped a dramatic hint that his exit from This Morning was not by choice, but rather he was pushed out, declaring emphatically: “It’s inconceivable that I would quit [any show that he is on].I don’t quit. I’m fired. But I never quit.” While fishing, some fans speculated he might be alluding to Holly once more with the remark: “People just went who I thought were my friends and they just went. And that’s like ‘what the hell?’.”

The impact of Phil’s new show , Cast Away, on his future career remains uncertain. On the flip side, Holly has a buzzing career, growing further since her own departure from This Morning last October, following the foiling of a terrifying plot that resulted in security guard Gavin Plumb being sentenced in July to at least 16 years’ imprisonment for planning to kidnap, assault, and kill the star.

    Image:
Kieron McCarron/ITV/REX/Shutterstock)Holly has made a strong comeback from past difficulties, and the ITV darling is gearing up for a trio of major shows. She’s set to host a revival of the game show ‘You Bet!’ alongside her pal Stephen Mulhern, launch into a fresh series of Dancing On Ice come January, and dive into her adventure reality competition Bear Hunt with Bear Gryll s.

The latter, which will premiere on Netflix, could catapult Holly to international stardom. An insider revealed, “That show is set to make her a global star and Netflix have high hopes for it and are predicting it to be a success in both the UK and America as well as other countries.

“If it does, Holly will become a big international star, something Phil always dreamed of. By keeping quiet and letting Phil get slated for his new show, Holly feels it is the best kind of revenge, especially after what he has implied about her.”
