ITV I’m A Celebrity star Maura Higgins has ‘accident’ on show after major change made to camp

As tensions start to rise in the ITV I’m A Celebrity camp, the contestants have been stressed by a big restructure, with Maura Higgins having an ‘accident’

I’m A Celebrity’s Maura Higgins has added to the rising in-camp tensions after admitting to an “accident” after the camp’s restructure.

The celebs will have to pay their way in the jungle after new rules were brought in meaning charges will apply to using the dunny, taking a shower and basic meals. In the Rank Bank trial, all the campmates were there to witness Ant and Dec explain the new rules and they would all be affected.

Chosen by the public, Dean McCullough, Alan Halsall and Danny Jones went up against each other to complete the trial, which saw them battle it out to bag some cash for their team’s bank account. The winner was to be awarded $300, while the campmate to come second and third was awarded $200 and $100 respectively.

If anyone didn’t complete the challenge in the allotted three minutes, they would leave empty handed. To use the basic amenities like the dunny, shower, poil and bath, they would have to pay $10 each at the turnstile, while a vending wall with fresh water and logs also ahad a $10 charge each. The treat machine was installed – not that many of them would be left with enough to make use of it.

After sitting through the trial, all the celebrities returned to the camp, hoping to tuck into yet more rice and beans – but there was an issue. Strictly’s Oti Mabuse and Reverend Coles couldn’t find the food supply, eventually working out Maura had taken it out with the rubbish. The pair had to rummage through the bins to find the discarded food, with Maura confessing to accidentally throwing it out.

She told the Bush Telegraph: “I didn’t throw the rice and beans in the rubbish on purpose or anything, although that’s the place for them if I’m being honest! It was a complete accident.”

Maura’s mistake has only added to growing tensions in the camp, with Radio 1 DJ Dean at the centre of a feud following a sighting of a rat. Reverend Coles brought it up over breakfast, telling the campmates: “We had a visitor last night, a little four legged visitor with a tail, a rat.” He reminded everyone to clear up at night to avoid inviting the critters in to the camp, after a frying pan and some cups were left out.

But Dean denied it had anything to do with him, telling the Bush Telegraph: “It’s actually Jane and Tulisa’s job to make sure that the pots are in the trunk, so when the reverend was telling everyone to put the pots away otherwise we’ll get rats, what he really meant was, Jane and Tulisa, put the pots away.”

It comes as Dean had also seemed to irritate Melvin Odoon, who said getting “Houdini” to help with chores was a chore in itself, saying: “It’s almost like another chore to ask him to help… it’s like telling a kid to tidy up his bedroom.”

Meanwhile, former boxer Barry McGuigan has his own gripe with Dean, after finding issue with the DJ after teabag-gate. Barry said of his trial efforts: “He screams, he shouts and he’s overdramatic.”

Strictly’s Pete Wicks addresses show exit as he’s bombarded with death threats

Strictly Come Dancing star Pete Wicks opened up about the recent backlash he’s received after being saved in the BBC show.

On Thursday’s instalment of Lorraine, the ITV star was joined by Strictly Come Dancing contestant Pete Wicks and his professional partner Jowita Przystał. Despite finding himself at the bottom of the leaderboard for the past few weeks, he’s avoided landing in the dance-off.

Sadly, this has resulted in a wave of backlash from viewers, as he detailed on his Staying Relevant podcast. The 36-year-old revealed there’s been a few people who have sent him death threats.

Addressing this while speaking to Lorraine, the Scottish star was disgusted as she reeled: “For goodness sake, Pete, it’s ridiculous!”

He replied, “It’s mad because it’s a light entertainment show. Some people take it very, very seriously, but I’m used to it. I’ve had it for years doing all sorts of different television.”

Lorraine interrupted the BBC contestant, telling him that despite being on TV, getting that level of backlash is not right. Addressing Jowita, she asked: “I bet you get angry on his behalf?”

The Strictly pro added: “Yeah because all we want to do is have fun and give people something on a Saturday night. We want to entertain people. Dancing is the thing, you might like it or not it’s fine.

“Everyone has their own opinion and it’s absolutely fine but I think we need to be more kind to each other, the world is already quite a difficult place to be.”

Over the weekend, Pete and Jowita were told they’d be taking to the dancefloor once again for Musicals Week. Although Pete confessed he didn’t think he’d make it this far in the

He said: “I thought I’d go week one and every week I say to her, ‘this is going to be the last week, this will be the last week’. We’re now, what 11 weeks in?”

Sadly on Sunday night, viewers had to say goodbye to one star as Montell Douglas and Jamie Borthwick found themselves in the dance-off. After performing their routines for the judges for a second time, it was time for them to learn their fate. Ultimately, it was a unanimous decision as each judge opted to save Montell, sending Jamie home.

However, that wasn’t Montell’s first time at the bottom, as the Olympian has found herself in the dance-off multiple times. Speaking about dancing to stay in the competition on Loose Women this week, Johannes Radede made a candid confession.

Johannes and Montell were in the dance-off over the weekend as the judges chose to save them
Johannes and Montell were in the dance-off over the weekend as the judges chose to save themHe said: “I’m going to be honest, I have been a blubbering mess for the past three dance-offs ,and this woman here has been like, ‘It’s not over!’”

When asked if he feels he’s failed Montell as her trainer, he admitted that was true as he continued: You’ve let her down, yeah. This is not my first rodeo I’ve never pushed somebody like I’ve pushed Montell. But it’s not that, it’s how she’s pushed me as a trainer.”

Paying tribute to his celebrity partner, Johannes believes he’s dancing with a champion, as Montell touched on being in the dance-off once again.

She confessed: “It never gets easier. I don’t think it’s easier but I definitely think mindset for sure comes in straight away. He (Johannes) always jokes that I’m coaching him on the dance-off! I’m like, ‘We’ve got this’.

Exclusive: Ruth Langsford arrives for I’m A Celebrity with bombshell comments on Jane Moore AND This Morning

Ruth Langsford touched down in Australia sporting a fresh blow-dry and bronzed tan as she heads to the I’m A Celebrity jungle for a role on ITV2 series, Unpacked.

Ruth Langsford backed her fellow Loose Women to triumph in the Jungle – as she said she would say “never say never” to a This Morning return.

The presenter was all smiles as arrived into Australia to take part on the spin-off I’m a Celebrity show.

Ruth is being flown in by ITV because she is a fellow Loose Woman colleague of Jane Moore, 62, and also works with GK Barry, 25, on the ITV show.

She said at Brisbane Airport: “I think she is doing so well. Of course I am backing her to win, but of course I have Grace as well. I have two Loose Women. Maybe it could be a double win and two Queens of the Jungle.”

Talking about Jane’s performance, she added: “I thought Jane was extraordinary in her challenge when she swam underwater. That was extremely difficult, I would not have been able to do that. She was very calm, and you noticed that the only person who didn’t scream on the bus was Jane. She is a good woman.”

The former This Morning host – sporting a fresh blow-dry and bronzed tan – is heading into the jungle for a role on ITV2 series, Unpacked.

She also opened up about This Morning which is set for a shake-up after its exec producer stepped down.

Asked about the This Morning changes, she said: “I don’t know, I haven’t been on it for two years.” Asked if she would fancy going back, she said: “Never say never.”

But she ruled out going into the Jungle, adding: “Absolutely not.”

Ruth has been busy documenting her trip on social media.

Posting on her Instagram Stories, she shared three suitcases and captioned the image: “Australia here I come!! Never could travel light!!! @imacelebrity.”

After landing in Dubai for the stop-over, she said “goodbye grey skies” as she enjoyed a glass of fizz. She then said her adventure was about to begin before sharing she will appear on Unpacked on Friday.

She went on to share a magazine article about her saying she was on her way to the jungle.

She laughed as she captioned the image: “Reading about myself on the plane … bizarre! Can’t believe I’ll be within touching distance of @janepmoore!!”

Ruth is taking her spot on the Unpacked couch, following on Colson Smith from Coronation Street. She will be a guest host alongside the show’s presenters, Joel Dommett, Sam Thompson and Kemi Rodgers.

Alison Hammond, who replaced Ruth Langsford and Eamonn Holmes on the Friday presenting team, today said the current This Morning stars were ‘devastated’ by the changes at the ITV show.

Appearing on the Chris Evans Breakfast Show, Alison said Martin Frizell gave her a break on television and turned her into a household name.

The Big Brother star, 49, shared: ‘I’ve worked with Martin for 10 years now, and I am, I’ll be honest with you, I’m absolutely devastated because he’s been a real rock for the show.’

It’s totally understandable as to why he’s leaving. We all know about his wife, Fiona (Phillips), and we get why he’s leaving. It’s very amicable, what he’s doing. He doesn’t want to leave, but he has to for family reasons, and we all understand that.’

As Evans branded Fiona a ‘legend’ Alison replied: ‘I know, I love Fiona. I remember being at a party with Fiona. I’ve never laughed so much in my life. She was so, so funny. And a lovely, lovely woman.’

Asked if she’d reached out to Martin, Alison said: “Yes, I have spoken to him. I’ve sent him a little message… I think, you know, he’s upset as well. It’s an emotional situation, you know, he’s very emotional.”

“He’s the one – shall I be honest with you – he’s the one who got me back on TV. He literally was like, “Alison’s really good, why don’t we use her? There was a time when I wasn’t on TV, I think it was 2007 or eight, I can’t really remember. Then Martin came on board and he was like, “Why are we not using Alison Hammond?” And he was the guy who made me the girl.

“So, you know, I’m really thankful to Martin Frizell, he’s a wonderful man. He’s going to be sadly missed. We’re all talking about it, like, behind the scenes. Everyone’s really sad. Everyone’s really gutted.”

I’m A Celebrity twist as ITV plans to film stars in jungle and beam out to different show

Jane Moore and GK Barry could be about to make I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here history with ITV bosses reportedly ready for a unique situation in the hit jungle series

Fans of I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here could be in for a treat.

Reports suggest the hit ITV evening show could be set for a never been done before moment to coincide with the 25th anniversary of Loose Women. As the talk show prepares for its 25-hour “Talkathon”, it’s thought ITV bosses want to include campmate Jane Moore in the epic feat, if she’s still Down Under. GK Barry could also be set to feature, as she is regularly on the lunchtime series.

The Talkathon is set to see the Loose Women team be live on air for 25 hours next Thursday. It will see faces from present and past taking turns to host the show and discuss topical news. It has been arranged to raise funds for Britain Get Talking charities.

Speaking of the plans to the Sun, a source said: “A show source said: “Everyone is backing them to stay in Australia but the team is really keen to find a way that they can somehow be involved in the Talkathon, whilst hopefully continuing their adventure in camp.”

The source said including Jane and GK while in the jungle would be the perfect addition to the huge celebrations. “Jane is one of the original Loose Women and was in the first ever ep plus, GK is the same age as the show! Everything is crossed.”

Meanwhile, fellow Loose Women star Ruth Langsford recently touched down in Australia. She is set to appear on the spin-off show, Unpacked, from tonight (Friday, November 29). As she arrived at the airport Down Under, Ruth told us: “I think she [Jane] is doing so well. Of course I am backing her to win, but of course I have Grace as well. I have two Loose Women. Maybe it could be a double win and two Queens of the Jungle.”

Speaking of how Jane has been performing, she added: “I thought Jane was extraordinary in her challenge when she swam underwater. That was extremely difficult, I would not have been able to do that. She was very calm, and you noticed that the only person who didn’t scream on the bus was Jane. She is a good woman.”

And she also laid foundations for a shock return to This Morning, insisting “never say never”. However, a return to life in the jungle was quickly ruled out: “Absolutely not,” she reaffirmed when asked.

Jane’s daughters are currently in Australia as they wait to take to the iconic bridge once their mum exits the jungle life. Speaking of their mum’s appearance, they said: “She went in wanting the adventure and if you came out the other side having not done a trial I think she would have been really disappointed.”

Ruth Langsford gives off ‘telling sign’ not all is perfect as she lands in Australia

Fans were thrilled to see Ruth Langsford beaming as she moves forward from her painful year with a trip to Australia to support pal Jane Moore on I’m A Celebrity

Ruth Langsford is putting the stresses of 2024 behind her as she takes a pre-Christmas trip to Australia to appear on I’m A Celebrity spin off Unpacked.

The Loose Women star was photographed after touching down in Australia on Thursday, with the star looking relaxed and “genuinely happy” as she made her way through the airport. Former This Morning host Ruth, 64, announced she and husband of 14 years Eamonn Holmes were divorcing in May.

Amid the former couple’s increasingly messy split, the mum-of-one had headed Down Under in support of her Loose Women co-star and pal Jane Moore. Jane, 62, is part way through her I’m A Celeb stint in the jungle, where she is living with campmates including WAG Coleen Rooney, Strictly’s Oti Mabuse and Danny Jones of McFly fame.

As newly-single Ruth landed in Australia, she was seen smiling as she pulled her airport trolley, telling fans she’s never been able to “travel light”. Body language expert and celebrity astrologist Inbaal Honigman reckons the star looks “genuinely happy” as she takes her solo trip, although she is also showing signs of nervousness as she navigates her new normal following such a stressful year.

Speaking on behalf of Spin Genie, Inbaal Honigman said: “After landing in Australia, Ruth looks genuinely happy, if a little self-conscious. Her smiles at the airport have all the hallmarks of being genuine. First and foremost, we can see her teeth – open-mouthed smiles are rarely fake. In some photos her teeth are even parted, which shows true joy. She’s happy to have landed in the land down under. There are pictures of Ruth smiling with her cheeks raised, eyes narrowed. This shows her smiling with her whole face, where every muscle engages in the smile. This is an expression of heartfelt happiness.

“Having said that, there are a few signs that reveal that Ruth could be feeling a touch of the nerves. The presenter’s hands on the handle of her airport trolley are rather tense. Holding the handle with both hands, in some pictures they appear white-knuckled, gripping tightly. In other photos she has her hands off the trolley, but her palms are clasped together in a protective gesture. She’s not entirely out of the woods emotionally after the tough year she’s had.”

A source claimed she wanted to take the trip to move on from her painful year. They told The Sun: “It’s been a tough year for Ruth and she’s been putting her best foot forward, she’s thrilled to have been asked to appear on this the spin off show and fly to Australia ahead of Christmas.”

Exclusive: Real reason ITV I’m A Celebrity’s GK Barry and Jane Moore pretend they don’t know each other

Social media star GK Barry is in the I’m A Celebrity camp with her Loose Women co-star Jane Moore, yet the pair haven’t appeared to spend much time together as her pal reveals why

GK Barry’s best friend has weighed in on her appearing to keep her distance from Loose Women star Jane Moore.

The pair, who both star on the ITV daytime panel show, are in the I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! camp together. Despite being colleagues on the outside world, viewers have seen minimal interactions between the pair while in the Australian jungle. Jane, who also works as a journalist, started on Loose Women back in 1999.She has been on and off the show ever since, while social media star GK – real name Grace Keeling – joined the panel this year. GK’s best pal and former Gogglebox star Joe Baggs has revealed the reason the pair may not seem so close to viewers. Speaking to the Mirror, Joe said: “I think that where they obviously know each other, they’re probably putting that energy into getting to know other people who they don’t know. To be fair, that normally happens in there.”

“I’m sure we will see, as people start to get voted out, the connections getting closer as well,” he told us. Joe, who has released his own cocktail set called Moist, admitted he was hoping for more from GK and Jane. The social media star told us: “I was hoping for a few more Loose Women chats. When they come up with those topics and then they start to debate them, I need a few of those in the camp.”

However, Joe is impressed with GK’s unlikely connection with Reverend Richard Coles. The vicar entered the camp late, but quickly found a bond with GK as they’ve discussed everything from their sexuality to religion and even a royal family confession. Joe admitted he didn’t see their friendship coming as he said: “It is such an unlikely pairing. I really didn’t see that coming.

I was thinking when she when in, it was going to be Coleen Rooney [she would be close to] like a mother daughter relationship 100 percent or Maura [Higgins]. I think it’s so funny and the conversations and the vibe they’ve got going is so good. I want them have a tribal show or something together. Something after I’m a Celeb with those two would be amazing.”

    Image:

The TikTok star also thought there would be more tension in camp than there has been but has a prediction why. Joe said: “I just think it all depends on who gets voted for those trials, because then once they get hungrier and hungrier that’s when the arguments start to happen.

“They’ve had like a really solid week with the trials, so that I think that’s why I’ve been getting on. It also depends on if anything political is going to be brought up because there’s not really been too many conversations that are that divisive yet. Obviously Jane, with the comments with Barry about the sexism stuff was a bit snappy. It will be interesting to see if anything follows on from that.”

Carol McGiffin criticises Mark Wright and Michelle Keegan for extravagant Christmas display

Loose Women panelist Carol McGiffin has hit out at Mark Wright and Michelle Keegan for posting a video of the huge and lavish Christmas lights on their Essex mansion

As December kicks off, many are considering decking their halls with Christmas lights. Rylan Clark has already showcased his impressive outdoor display, and celeb couple Michelle Keegan and Mark Wright weren’t far behind, sharing a video of their dazzling Essex mansion.

However, Loose Women star Carol McGiffin isn’t impressed. She admits that while a flashy set of Christmas lights might seem “magical” to kids, it appears to be “the preference of people with more money than sense.”

In her column for Best magazine, she notes that some even hire professional lighting companies, with celebs often getting discounted or free services in return for an Instagram plug.

The tradition of exterior Christmas lights started in the USA in the early 20th century, but even after a hundred years, there’s still resistance. In Jane Austen’s former home village of Chawton in Hampshire, a Christmas lights controversy is currently brewing.

Carol revealed that a local resident had written to the parish magazine, objecting to some houses in Chawton being decorated with brightly-coloured festive lights. They suggested that only white lights should be permitted, reports the Express.

The tradition of outdoor Christmas lights began in the US, where celebrities have taken the illumination craze to new heights. Hollywood star Jamie Foxx is infamous for his extravagant Christmas lights.

The Django Unchained actor didn’t hold back on his lavish decorations, which included strings of lights leading down into the garden – where it seemed much of the ground had been replaced with a red carpet. If his flashy display wasn’t bright enough already, the pillars of his front door were transformed into giant candy canes, and snowflakes adorned the top of the property.

It comes after Mark was rushed to hospital in Las Vegas after suffering a head wound.

Insisting that he “wasn’t drunk” and that he’s “absolutely fine”, the TOWIE star, 37, told fans about the bad fall while on the trip. Updating his Instagram followers from his first class seat on the flight home to London, Mark recalled what happened.

In a video posted to his Stories, he said: “Another year done. F1 in Vegas. What an experience. I’m coming home with a little scar. For those that are asking on my Instagram, I fell in the bathroom. I wasn’t drunk. It was in the middle of the night, half asleep. Needed a few stitches but I’m all good, absolutely fine.”

Mark, who was enjoying the racing in America, had large scar across his forehead. He went on to share his excitement about reuniting with his wife and thanked his friends in Vegas for their hospitality.

Spice Girls left ‘fuming’ as Geri Halliwell blocks ambitious TV drama about their lives

The creators of Netflix smash hit The Crown reportedly want to make a TV show about the Spice Girls – but a report has suggested that the project has been nixed by Ginger Spice

A fresh feud is reportedly rumbling between the Spice Girls after Geri Halliwell nuked plans for a TV show about their fame.

The Wannabe singers exploded onto the music scene in 1996 when they unleashed their debut single – and went on to be one of the most successful British bands in the world. The fivesome – consisting of Geri, 51, Victoria Beckham, 50, Mel B, 49, Mel C, 50, and Emma Bunton, 48 – went on to release two albums before Ginger Spice sensationally quit to pursue a solo career.

The remaining four released a third album before disbanding and pursuing solo projects of their own. The group have reformed in various incarnations – but have not performed together as a five since the London Olympics of 2012.

The friends appeared on good terms when they reunited earlier this year to celebrate Vicky’s 50th birthday – but it seems various tensions have formed in the months since. And now a report has suggested the group if being torn apart over thwarted plans for a drama about their careers and lives.

A source told the outlet: “It would have seen five actresses taking on the roles of Posh, Ginger, Scary, Sporty and Baby.

“The venture would have landed them all pay deals of around £1million for essentially not lifting a finger. But as the negotiations ramped up, the others were told Geri had objected. The plans have basically been thrown out.”

The source added: “They wanted to have the agreement of all of the band and without Geri it’s hard to make it happen.” The Mirror has approached representatives of the group for comment.

The report comes less than a month after Mel B branded her fellow bandmates “d**kheads” for banning her from a group text chat. The I Want You Back singer made the surprise comment while starring in an episode of Never Mind The Buzzcocks in a 90s special. Mel was asked why her fellow Spice Girls booted her from their group chat, and she said: “Because I’m Northern and say what I think and feel and I’m constantly saying to the girls, ‘We need to go back on tour’.” Asked for more details, the Feels So Good singer quipped: “Because they’re d**kheads.”

Fans have been hoping that the group would reform for another tour – with all five girls taking part. But earlier this year, Victoria appeared to rule out the suggestion of a 30th anniversary tour. Downplaying plans, she said: “It would be lovely for us to do something to celebrate, a dinner or a lunch, but it won’t be any more.”

Prince William reveals son Louis, 6, has ambitious hobby – but it’s not without issues

Prince William was among the guests at the Tusk Conservation Awards in London on Wednesday and he spoke about his family whilst at the annual awards ceremony this week

It has been revealed by Prince William this week that his youngest child Prince Louis has been learning to play the drums, though he made a teasing remark about his son.

Prince William, 42, spoke about his family whilst at the Tusk Conservation Awards in London on Wednesday. He’s the royal patron of the charity Tusk, which annually honours conservation efforts in Africa with the awards ceremony.

He was joined at the Savoy Hotel by the likes of the Rolling Stones member Ronnie Wood and Dire Straits guitarist Mark Knopfler, whom he met at a reception ahead of the ceremony. Prince William said there was “a lot of creativity” present and joked that they had enough to start a band.

Prince William went on to discuss his son Prince Louis, six – who is the youngest of his three children with Princess Kate – nurturing a potential musical talent himself. Teasing over it, Prince William said: “My youngest is learning the drums that’s why I spend my entire life with my fingers in my ears.”

As previously reported, in his speech at the ceremony, Prince William warned that the event is a “reminder that our planet continues to face terrifying environmental concerns”. He hailed the winners on the evening for reminding “us of the importance of living at peace with nature”.

Prince William also mentioned his children, sharing a vision for the future that he wants Prince George, 11, Princess Charlotte, nine, and Prince George to inherit. He said: “I want my children to live in a world where swallows still migrate, gorillas still live in the cloud forests of Uganda and rhinos still roam the arid rangelands of Namibia.”

He also said: “It is only through a collaborative approach, under the guidance of indigenous and local communities, that we can foster lasting and meaningful change. I believe we are the lucky ones. We live in a world in which incredible wildlife exists and I want that for the generations that follow.”

Speaking at the event on Wednesday night, King Charles III’s eldest son said that now was the time to support those working to protect wildlife and the environment. Addressing guests at the awards ceremony, he said: “Rainforests the size of countries are disappearing. And one million species are at risk of extinction mostly due to human activity.”

Prince William continued with a further message for those listening to his speech. He added at the event: “Now is the time to support those globally that work to prevent future generations from becoming disconnected from nature, we must invest in the natural world around us and understand the value it has for us all, both now and in the future.”
