BBC Strictly Come Dancing fans up in arms over final fix row involving major star

Strictly Come Dancing fans have claimed one finalist’s win is ‘in jeopardy’ amid a fix row ahead of the final of the BBC show on Saturday night

Strictly Come Dancing enthusiasts are up in arms over what they perceive as a potential “fix” that could threaten one star of the show’s shot at victory.

The remaining duos are gearing up for an epic two-and-a-half-hour showdown to snatch the much-coveted Glitterball Trophy this weekend.

JLS sensation JB Gill and his partner Lauren Oakley, thespian Sarah Hadland dancing with Vito Coppola, visually impaired comic Chris McCausland paired with Dianne Buswell, and Love Island alum Tasha Ghouri alongside Ajaz Skorjanec will all strut their stuff on the dance floor one final time.

Chart-topper JB is set to dazzle with a Show Dance to a Motown Medley, glide through a Viennese Waltz to the tune of Let’s Go Fly A Kite from Mary Poppins, and then heat things up with a Samba to Mas Que Nada by Sergio Mendes.

Strictly fans are convinced that the show is fixed

However, some viewers have cried foul, claiming it’s “unfair” that JB is the only contestant tackling two technical dances that previously scored perfect 10s.

One fan remarked: “Bit unfair JB is the only one doing two technical 10 dances and some of the hardest ones for beginners at that. I will forgive the judges for giving him a dance that scored highly but not for giving us two 10s and an American smooth.”

Another echoed: “Why has JB been given the technical dances. It seems a bit unfair.” While someone else moaned: “I do not think its fair that one person is expected to do a complex ballroom dance versus a couples do whatever you want we’re going to score you on vibes bonanza. It makes a mockery of the show. The couples choices have been a load of tosh and incredibly watered down post 2018.”

Meanwhile, Miranda’s very own Sarah Hadland is preparing to enchant with her Show Dance to Cabaret by Metropole Orkest, sweep across the floor with an American Smooth to Proud by Heather Small, and get down with a Cha Cha to Madonna’s Like A Prayer.

Tasha is set to hit the dance floor with a Show Dance to Benny Goodman’s Sing, Sing, Sing, express herself with a Couple’s Choice to What About Us by P!nk, and deliver an American Smooth to Lewis Capaldi’s Someone You Loved.

It comes after former TOWIE star Pete Wicks became the latest star to be booted off the BBC show. Pete, 36, and his dance partner Jowita Przystal missed out on a place in the final during Sunday night’s Results Show as they lost the dreaded dance-off for the first time.

While many will miss Pete on their screens, some Strictly fans feel the Celebs Go Dating star lasted longer in the competition than he should of and accused the judges of showing favouritism.

Ant McPartlin sparks I’m A Celebrity quit fears with confession about life after baby

I’m A Celebrity host Ant McPartlin sparked fears on his future on the beloved programme as he discussed ‘his baby at home’

Beloved presenter Ant McPartlin has sparked fears that he could be quitting I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! after comments made about juggling the show with being a father.

The star, alongside co-host Declan Donnelly, fronts the popular ITV programme which saw McFly singer Danny Jones be crowned the latest King of the Jungle. The hosting duo watched, in clean clothes, as the celebrity campmates were covered in offal, fish guts, slime and insects all for our entertainment.

After the winner was crowned last week, the cast of 2024 are back for I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! Coming Out, which airs on Friday at 9pm on ITV1, STV and ITVX. Fans will get to see the campates talk about their experience in the Australian jungle as well as watch how they celebrated as they left camp.

In a preview for the show, hosts Ant and Dec are seen reflecting on a successful series which saw the likes of Danny, Coleen Rooney, Reverend Richard Coles, Oti Mabuse, Alan Halsall, GK Barry, Barry McGuigan, Maura Higgins, Melvin Odoom, Tulisa Contostavlos, Dean McCullough and Jane Moore put through their paces.

Dec said: “I’m not quite ready for it to be over,” while Ant disagreed as he discussed his baby Wilder at home with his wife Anne-Marie. Ant said of the three-week experience in Australia: “Oh I am, I’m very tired mind you I do have a new baby at home so that might be something.”

His co-host, Dec, went on to said: “I just love them though” with Ant very much in agreement as he added: “I do like them, they’re a great cast aren’t they?.” Ant was only recently pictured at Heathrow Aiport with his wife and seven-month-old baby after spending weeks away in Australia.

He looked over the moon to be back home after wrapping the show. The 2024 series has been the first time Ant has juggled dad duties with working in Australia, after becoming a first time dad earlier this year.

An average audience of 7.1 million viewers tuned in to see the McFly star Jones beat TV personality Coleen to the title, a rise from the 6.6 million viewers who watched TV star Sam Thompson win last year, ITV said. Singer and guitarist Danny secured his win after receiving 55.2% of the public vote, while Rooney came in second with 44.8%, according to the vote count.

Dramatic moment I’m A Celeb’s Dean confronts Melvin as he learns of ‘Houdini’ jibes

Radio 1’s Dean McCullough took Melvin Odoom to one side, and squared up to him for ‘upsetting’ him with the infamous ‘Houdini’ nickname on I’m a Celebrity

Melvin Odoom, 44, is well known for his sense of humour, but it turns out one of his jungle campmates – Dean McCullough, 32 – didn’t find his jokes very funny.

Dean is set to confront Mlevin on I’m A Celebrity… Coming Out, which airs on Friday at 9pm. Dean and Melvin both work at BBC Radio 1, and fans were sure that the duo would get on like a house on fire in the jungle. In contrast, the duo seemed to get on better with other celebs, and Melvin couldn’t resist making a couple of jibes about Dean’s less than ideal work ethic when it came to chores around the camp.

Melvin and Dean were teamed up to collect water for the camp during their time on the ITV show, but Dean had plenty of complaints about the task. “It’s an awful job and I hate it and I don’t want to do it anymore… Guys I can’t. It’s not for me,” he moaned.

After the other campmates told Dean to pull his socks up, Melvin also jokingly made a dig about Dean’s ability to be out of reach when it was time to fill the buckets. “Listen, your new name is Houdini because you like to disappear,” he said.

While Dean didn’t seem upset about the comment at the time, he voiced his issues with Melvin on I’m A Celebrity… Coming Out. After seeing their families, the duo bumped into each other. Dean said to his colleague: “I love how the whole Houdini popped off, the memes were brilliant.”

“I don’t think people realised why that happened, I was busy doing the water thing, I just wanted you to help so I was thinking I’m just gonna drop this line with half the camp there, make everyone laugh,” Melvin responded.

The tone of their chat then took a turn, with Dean confiding in Melvin: “I wish you had told me, that upset me,” to which Melvin said: “If I’m trying to give someone a message, I always use humour, that’s my number one way of communicating with people, that’s essentially my weapon, and that’s all that was.”

“I saw Bush Telegraphs of you saying, ‘Oh, it’s another chore to ask Dean to do the chores,’” Dean insisted, with Melvin explained: “Me calling you Houdini was my way of telling you I need help, when we said, ‘Let’s do the water’, I came up the steps and you were having a shower, when I came down you were folding your clothes by the bed, by the time I said, ‘Houdini’ that was me saying, ‘I need help’.”

Dean then said that it would have been better for Melvin to “take him to the side,” with Melvin reiterating that it was no big deal. Dean again hinted that he was upset by the title, and Melvin jokingly concluded the deep discussion: “Okay. I’ll know for next time we’re in the jungle carrying buckets of water.”

Katie Price in shock surgery reveal just weeks after having a major facelift

Katie Price has revealed her plans for more surgery just weeks after having a facelift in Turkey, which left fans begging the mum-of-five to stop going under the knife

Katie Price is having more surgery just weeks after a major facelift.

The mum-of-five, 46, is still healing from the serious surgery she had in Turkey in August, which prompted fans to beg the OnlyFans star to stop going under the knife when they saw her severely swollen face strapped up with bandages.

However, the Pricey’s at it again as she took to her YouTube channel announcing the next step in her seemingly endless bid for ‘perfection’.

Holding up pictures of her face from her younger years, Katie says: “This is me, but it doesn’t look like me. The forever changing Price.” Putting the snaps down, she continued: “I’m the new me, even though I’m having surgery in a few weeks and then I’m booking more surgery a week after that so I’m going to not look like me again – and you’ll be joining me on the journey. What Katie did next.”

The Only Fans star, who is rumoured to have had a staggering sixteen boob jobs and six facelifts, didn’t say what surgery she was having. However, fans won’t be happy whatever she’s plumped for after sending messages of concern to the Brightonian when she showed off the results of her facelift last week.

Taking to Instagram, Katie stunned her followers with a close-up look at her new face in an Instagram video. The Jordan star shared a clip on her page, begging fans to check out her NSFW content on the adult site OnlyFans. In the comment section, however, fans were more focused on Katie’s new appearance, after the star underwent a face lift with an eye-watering £10,000 price tag.

“Christmas is coming… don’t forget to check out my OnlyFans,” Katie said in her caption along with a winky face and festive emojis, sporting a bright pink vest and high pony tail. However, one fan urged: “Darling, in the nicest possible way… You really need to start looking after your body rather than selling it.”

“Why have you done this to yourself? You were a natural beauty,” said a second, along with a crying emoji. “Such a shame, you used to be so so pretty,” said a third.

Some fans reckoned that Katie’s striking appearance was down to a heavy edit, rather than the facelift, as one said: “Dear lord this is photoshop at its worst, Katie you do not have a head the shape of a sharpened almond, you really do yourself an injustice as this has been tweaked to infinity and beyond.”

However, others disagreed, particularly in light of the star’s heartbreaking comment on On the Go Love Yourself! podcast where she admitted: “I’ve never thought I’m good-looking, and I still don’t,” adding that her constant changes might be due to body dysmorphia.

  • Tulisa seen making I’m A Celebrity admission moments before early exit from Australia

Tulisa seen making I’m A Celebrity admission moments before early exit from Australia

Singer and TV star Tulisa hoped jungle would be like therapy for her discussing her demons but it was not a wholly positive experience in Australia

Tulisa Contostavlos admitted she “didn’t feel different” when she left the I’m A Celebrity jungle – in new scenes which were filmed shortly before she fled Australia.

Singer and TV star Tulisa, 36, had said before going onto the I’m A Celebrity show it would be “closure” for her and “like therapy” having previously had a sex tape leaked and was wrongly accused of being a drug dealer. But after speaking about her tough life experiences on the show she had a bad reaction after being voted out early in the series and did not stay on in Australia with other campmates.

She is seen on new ITV I’m A Celeb show ‘Coming Out’ being greeted by her friend Michelle McKenna. Both Tulisa and Michelle laugh at how much they looked forward to wine, pizza and pasta. But tellingly Tulisa then says: “I said I was going to come out a different person but I don’t feel different. I feel more strong in who I am.”

Within hours of this being caught on camera she had left Australia and deleted all I’m A Celebrity content from her social media. She explained why in a video and said: “I’m just doing a little video to clear a couple things up. Just so you know, when I came out of the jungle, I felt fine first of all and then that evening my friends went to bed.

“But because it’s been a while for me I can get overwhelmed quite easily. I just started to feel overwhelmed. I thought, ‘Do you know what, I really just need to take a bit of time for me and just chill’. You know, it’s OK to feel a little bit overwhelmed. I’ve been out of the spotlight for a long time. I’m still trying to overcome those things. I’ve still got my little demons.”

She did then add back some content from the series once she was back in the UK. And later in the ITV doc Tulisa sends a message back to the other campmates as she is not there to greet them. Contestant GK Barry says: “Guys as we know someone isn’t here and that someone is Tulisa but fear not because I’ve got a message from her.”

Tulisa appears on screen as she says: “Hello everybody, I’m so proud of you all, you’ve absolutely smashed it, now I want you to go and eat yourselves into an oblivion. I’m so sorry that I can’t be there so have a big old drink for me. I love you lots like jelly tots and I will see you soon.”

The show also highlights how Dean McCulloch and Melvin Odoom continued their spat about carrying water in camp in the show’s hotel when they had both been evicted. Dean was seen by some of his campmates as being lazy when it came to chores and was dubbed Houdini as he sometimes disappeared when work was needed.

Melvin says: “I don’t think people realised why that happened, I was busy doing the water thing, I just wanted you to help so I was thinking I’m just gonna drop this line with half the camp there, make everyone laugh.” Dean says: “I wish you had told me, that upset me.”

Melvin replies: “If I’m trying to give someone a message, I always use humour, that’s my number one way of communicating with people, that’s essentially my weapon, and that’s all that was.” Dean adds: “I saw Bush Telegraphs of you saying, ‘Oh, it’s another chore to ask Dean to do the chores’.”

Melvin replied: “Me calling you Houdini was my way of telling you I need help, when we said, ‘Let’s do the water’, I came up the steps and you were having a shower, when I came down you were folding your clothes by the bed, by the time I said, ‘Houdini’ that was me saying, ‘I need help’.” The pair eventually hug and move on from the spat.

Coleen Rooney, who came runner up, is shown popping a bottle of champagne as soon as she gets in her hotel room whilst kind sons Kit and Cass run her a bath. And winner and king of the jungle Danny Jones addresses all the contestants at the drinks reception after the final and says: “I want to raise a toast, we had the lowest of lows and the highest of highs but we went through it together. You’re great people, I couldn’t have wished for a better camp. You listened and you asked questions and I just feel like a new human being. Cheers everyone.”

Michelle McManus made a heartbreaking admission as she opened up about her nine stone weight loss.

The Pop Idol icon, 44, appeared on Thursday’s Loose Women where panellist Coleen Nolan said: “I mean, you look fabulous, you’ve lost nine stone?”

To which Michelle responded: “Yeah, thank you! I had gained a lot of weight in Covid, I had my two babies back to back, I gained a lot of weight. I think you can be beautiful at any size, that’s not what it’s about, but I think for me, honestly, I just got to the stage where I was looking in the mirror and crying.

“I’m like: ‘I should love my body, I’ve just had these two babies in my 40s’ and I was really proud of that but I was just looking at myself going: ‘I feel miserable’. Then I just decided, I got this amazing life coach, just cut my calories, started going to the gym!”

The star added: “I’m wearing a size 18 jumpsuit, which I never thought I’d actually say, but you know I’m a size 18. For a lot of people, that’s where they start their journey, but for me I’ve got to 16-18 and I’m like: ‘I’m so happy here, this is where I’m happy’, I do, I feel really content.”

In 2005, Michelle, who shot to fame in 2003 when she won the second and final series of Pop Idol, appeared on Channel 4 dieting programme You Are What You Eat. Not long after, the plucky Scot brought out a book and DVD about weight loss.

The Feeling Good star told celebrity dietician Gillian McKeith that some nights she would have burgers, chips and eight whiskey and cokes – in one night.

However, after Gillian set out a new regime, which made Michelle quit booze altogether for five months, the singer managed to shift an impressive nine stone after previously weighing 23 stone when she was on Pop Idol.

Six years ago, Michelle decided to give up alcohol for good after falling pregnant with her first child. She said she relied on booze as a way to cope with low self-confidence, but said by her mid-30s she became worried about her safety after she would ‘black out’ after a night out.

Speaking on the Why Aren’t You Drinking podcast, the Glasgow-born star said: “I stopped drinking in 2019 on the day I got my positive pregnancy test and it was a blessing for so many reasons.

“Falling pregnant helped me make the massive decision to give up alcohol which I had been too scared to make. I didn’t really know who I was without alcohol, not because I felt really that I was dependent on it, but it had been such a huge part of my life and my persona.

“It was a form of escapism when I maybe wasn’t reading such nice things about me or I didn’t feel as confident as I do now. Alcohol was a way for me to go ‘Goodbye world’.”

Loose Women’s Coleen Nolan reveals she’s ‘booking a day of crying’ after heartbreaking split

The Loose Women panellists were discussing the topic ‘where do you go to cry’ when Coleen Nolan, who admits she holds her emotions in, revealed she’s ‘booking a day of crying’

Loose Women’s Coleen Nolan revealed she’s ‘booking a day of crying’ on Thursday’s show.

During the latest instalment, the panellists were discussing the topic ‘where do you go to cry’ when Coleen, 59, admitted she typically holds her emotions in but was planning a day to cry.

It comes as Coleen recently split with her partner of three years as she embraces single life on her new farm.

Talking to her fellow panellists on Thursday’s show about allowing yourself to cry, Coleen said: “I’m terrible for it, I hold it in and it will be a moment that I’m not expecting it and it won’t be over anything that I thought I was going to cry about.

“It’ll be something like I dropped a cup on the floor and all of a sudden it will just come and I’ll think: ‘I’m not even bothered about the cup!’”

She added: “I’m booking a day of crying, I’ve told my children, it’s in the diary, they’re getting locked out. Go wherever you want, I’m going to lock my front door and I’m just going to cry all day.”

Coleen continued: “I need [to do it], it is my own therapy, I know I need to do it as I’ve been holding a lot in. The thing with me, and my fear is, if I start I won’t stop as it’s not over one thing, it’s over everything I’ve ever held in.

“So it’ll be my sister being sick, it’ll be over losing Bernie, and then it will be over things that are happening now. It all then comes out and my problem is, I get to a point, whenever I do cry, I instantly try and stop myself crying as if I don’t stop myself, I’m not going to stop, then it wears me out, I’m so worn out by the end of it.

“If I’m going to do it, I know I need to be on my own so I don’t feel I have to stop because there’s people there and also then I’ve got the rest of the day to get over it.”

It comes as Coleen recently parted ways with Michael Jones, citing her busy lifestyle as the reason as she juggles work with settling into her new home.

Mum-of-three Coleen recently said that breaking up was “sad” but insisted it ended on good terms. “We’ve decided that we would rather just stay friends, take it as a friendship,” said Coleen, who started dating the supermarket logistics worker in 2021.

“It’s nothing to do with anyone else, it’s nobody’s fault. But I’m really busy and when I’m not really busy with work I’m busy on the farm and I feel personally that I can’t give time to everything. We still get along great and hopefully we can continue to be friends, who knows?”

Coleen added: “I’m not going to say it wasn’t sad, because of course it was. But I really hope that once that sadness goes away we can continue to be friends. I don’t regret any of it, it was fabulous.

“Michael came along at just the right time for me and I think over the last three-and-a-half years we’ve helped each other grow. I always choose to focus on the times that were great, not the sad ending.”

MasterChef: The Professionals winner revealed as Gregg Wallace makes last scheduled BBC appearance

Gregg Wallace appeared on the final of MasterChef: The Professionals, after the Christmas specials of the series were pulled from BBC schedules

Gregg Wallace was shown on the BBC for what is potentially the last time in tonight’s MasterChef: The Professionals final, where he praised winner Dan Merriman, 29, for his “dish after dish of absolute beauty”.

Throughout the competition Dan has wowed the judges Marcus Wareing, Monica Galetti and Gregg Wallace and impressed restaurant critics and some of the country’s leading chefs – delivering outstanding, innovative food and skilful cookery.

Reacting to his win, Dan said: “To walk away as MasterChef Champion, it means the world to me. There’s not been that many times where I’ve been proud of myself in my life, but I’ve hit the pinnacle! This whole competition has changed my life. I’m forever grateful.”

The judges had so much to say about Dan, with Marcus Wareing commenting: “We have a star. I see Dan’s cookery as fine dining at its very, very best. His food is precise, technical, it’s incredibly creative. I think it’s outstanding. This guy is shining. I can’t wait to see what this chef is going to do in the future.”

Monica Galetti added: “From the moment he walked in, he let his cooking do the talking. I don’t think Dan realises how good he is. The kind of cooking he’s been doing takes years to get right.” Gregg Wallace said: “Dan’s food has been blowing us away, not just in this Final but for round after round. Dish after dish of absolute beauty. Watching this chef grow in stature has been a wonderful thing to witness. I think this has been a turning point in Dan’s life.

The Christmas specials of MasterChef have been pulled from the BBC ’s schedules after allegations surfaced about Gregg’s behaviour. BBC bosses previously said the corporation will not “tolerate behaviour that falls below the standards we expect” and will continue to champion “a culture that is kind, inclusive and respectful”.

Last week, Gregg apologised for claiming complaints about his behaviour came from “a handful of middle-class women of a certain age”, adding he will “take some time out”. Lawyers for the presenter have previously strongly denied “he engages in behaviour of a sexually harassing nature”, according to BBC News.

With regard to the Christmas specials, a BBC spokesperson said: “As we have said, MasterChef is an amazing competition which is life-changing for the chefs taking part and the current series of MasterChef: The Professionals is continuing as planned. The celebrity Christmas specials are obviously a different type of show and in the current circumstances we have decided not to broadcast them.”

It comes after Sir Rod Stewart’s wife Penny Lancaster has claimed she was “bullied” by Gregg on Celebrity MasterChef. The model and Loose Women star, 53, said she believes he “used his position of power to intimidate and cause distress” on set, and claims production

Last month, Sir Rod, 57, alleged that the presenter “humiliated” his wife when she took part on the show in 2021, saying “good riddance” to Gregg after he stepped away from the BBC programme while the show’s production company Banijay UK investigates claims of misconduct.

Now, Penny has spoken about her experiences with Gregg, 60, for the first time, saying on Loose Women: “I most definitely was witness and victim to some of the bullying and harassment behaviour of Gregg Wallace, and unfortunately, a lot of those involved in the production team were also witness to that.

“I really feel that he used his position of power to, I believe, intimidate and cause distress to a lot of people on set. And it’s really unfortunate that someone like him is allowed to get away with that, and while others sort of stand by and let it happen at the same time.”

She added that Rod had posted his now famous critique of the presenter as a “tubby, bald-headed, ill-mannered bully” without her knowledge. “I didn’t realise my husband had sent that post out until it was out,” she said, adding she was “in shock” when she read it.

Penny continues: “I felt a little bit vindicated that something was put out there, going back to sort of that whole Me Too (movement), it’s shocking to think how many women do suffer in the hands of… (men) in a powerful position and are too afraid to talk out. They don’t feel at the time that they’re going to be supported or listened to. So sometimes it can take a few years later for someone to mention something. It gives the other victims and people that have suffered the confidence to come forward.”

Penny Lancaster has broken her silence on husband Rod Stewart’s dig at Gregg Wallace

Penny Lancaster has claimed she was ‘victim to bullying and harrassment’ by Gregg Wallace as she spoke about the scandal for the first time on Loose Women today.

The model and ITV panelist spoke out after her husband Sir Rod Stewart unleashed a furious post about MasterChef host Gregg following allegations about his conduct on the BBC cooking show.

Last month, Sir Rod alleged the TV presenter had “humiliated” his wife when she was a contestant on Celebrity MasterChef in 2021. Rod spoke out following the news Gregg had stepped away from the BBC programme while a review is conducted into historical complaints about his behaviour.

In his full statement, Sir Rod raged: “So Greg Wallace gets fired from Masterchef. Good riddance Wallace…You humiliated my wife when she was on the show but you had that bit cut out didn’t you? You’re a tubby, bald-headed, ill-mannered bully. Karma got ya. Sir Rod Stewart.”

Penny told ITV ’s Loose Women today: “I didn’t realise my husband had sent that post out until it was out. And of course, you can imagine the influx of inquiries there were. I most definitely was witness and victim to some of the bullying and harassment behaviour of Gregg Wallace and, unfortunately, a lot of those involved in the production team were also witness to that.

“And I really feel that he used his position of power to, I believe, intimidate and cause distress to a lot of people on set. And it’s really unfortunate that someone like him is allowed to get away with that, and while others sort of stand by and let it happen at the same time.”

Penny said she was ‘in shock’ by her husband’s scathing digs.

The model admitted: “I felt a little bit vindicated that something was put out there, going back to sort of that whole Me Too [movement], it’s shocking to think how many women do suffer in the hands of men in a powerful position and are too afraid to talk out.” She concluded: “They don’t feel at the time that they’re going to be supported or listened to. So sometimes it can take a few years later for someone to mention something. It gives the other victims and people that have suffered the confidence to come forward.”

Gregg was placed under investigation last month due to historic complaints that he’d made “sexual comments” on set of MasterChef, with Newsnight host Kirsty Wark among several people who have accused the MasterChef presenter of making inappropriate sexual comments or jokes.

The BBC host stepped down from MasterChef a couple of weeks ago due to the investigation, but responded to the accusations with a series of posts on Instagram. In his posts, Gregg vehemently denied having taken part in any wrongdoing.

With Gregg’s future on the show up in the air, rumours have emerged that MasterChef’s production company, Banijay, might already be trying to edit him out of pre-filmed episodes. Insiders claimed that editing footage might be a more pleasing option than scrapping footage at a major cost.

The next series of MasterChef, which will feature amateur chefs as opposed to the celebrity and professional spin-offs, has already been filmed, and is set to air next year. One BBC insider claimed that Banijay could still use the footage rather than ditching it or retaping, and simply crop Gregg out of wide shots while canning footage of him alone. “John and Gregg were always shot with separate cameras. Any two shots, or wide shots containing the pair can be cut. Removing Gregg entirely is a difficult task, but not an impossible one,” a source told the Daily Mail.

Amid the confusing time, the BBC announced last week that they’d decided to drop the MasterChef Christmas specials from its roster. The broadcaster previously announced a Celebrity MasterChef Cook Off and a Strictly Festive Extravaganza as part of its festive schedule, both billed as hour-long programmes for BBC One and BBC iPlayer.

BBC bosses previously said the corporation will not “tolerate behaviour that falls below the standards we expect” and will continue to champion “a culture that is kind, inclusive and respectful”.

A memo sent to staff by the BBC director-general, Tim Davie, and Charlotte Moore, chief content officer, said the corporation would be supporting MasterChef producer Banijay UK in its investigation.

Last week, Wallace apologised for claiming complaints about his behaviour came from “a handful of middle-class women of a certain age”, adding he will “take some time out”.

Lawyers for Wallace have previously strongly denied “he engages in behaviour of a sexually harassing nature”, according to BBC News.

Emmerdale hit with wave of Ofcom complaints after ‘vile’ child abduction episode

While some fans went to Ofcom to complain about an episode featuring violence against a child, others demanded for writers to be fired or for ITV to scrap the show completely

Emmerdale fans have taken official steps to complain about a recent wild storyline.

The ITV show aired a terrifying scene featuring a child on November 5, and viewers turned to Ofcom to make their thoughts known. In the scene, 15-year-old April (Amelia Falangan) was kidnapped by new mega-villain Jade (Twinnie-Lee Moore), and taken to a rooftop.

Jade was going to extreme measures to get money from Ross, who’d been taking part in her underground boxing ring and was accused of stealing cash from the crime boss. Ross used to be in love with April’s mum Donna, and rushed to save her after Jade had one of her bulky minions dangle her from the roof while she begged for her life. In a heart breaking twist, it turned out that it was the very same roof where Donna committed suicide when April was just a few years old.

Evil Jade ignored young April’s pleas for her life, and fans said Emmerdale should be ‘ashamed’ of the intense scene
Fans were shocked by the intense scene featuring a child used as leverage in such a dangerous situation, and flocked to complain that the soap had gone too far. Ofcom received 61 complaints over the episode, according to the Daily Mail, with the regulator commenting: “Complainants objected to a storyline involving child abduction and violence.” Alongside complaining to Ofcom, many fans also raged against the episode on X, formerly known as Twitter.

Many viewers voiced how shocked and upset they were by the content of the show, and urged production to calm things down. Others were so angry that they went a step further, and demanded the episode’s writers be fired – or even for Emmerdale to be taken off air for good.

One person wrote: “#emmerdale tonight was a dark episode a bit much dangling a young girl where her Mam fell to her death Jade and her heavies need to go as do the writers,” with a second agreeing: “Give me strength…Emmerdale is turning into a horror show, what a vile episode with poor April”

Many others targeted the writers directly, with one exclaiming: “The scriptwriters have stooped to a new low with this April/Ross/Jade storyline….shocking!” A second viewer wrote: “Absolutely awful episode! Poor April, no screen time in ages then they do this to her! Emmerdale needs new writers now! The level of violence and threat is totally unacceptable,” and a third blasted: “Think this was really in bad taste to put April through this traumatic experience after what happened to her Mum. Shame on you writers for being so desperate.”

“Okay. Own up. Who is responsible for this jarring Jade storyline? Get rid quick! Chuffing awful,” another demanded. Other viewers hinted that Emmerdale itself needed a complete revamp. One person claimed: “Emmerdale should be ashamed this is child abuse poor April she be terrified for life now,” while another very extreme opinion read: “Watching Emmerdale and it is way out of line what they are doing to April. It’s far too early in the evening. It’s just getting violent all the time. Time it was taken off.”
